Jake Muller

Jake is not used to this stuff. Being close to people, getting attached, being affectionate, all that.

When you come out of nowhere and try to hug him, he pushes you off out of a mixture of surprise and reflex.

You're both just standing there. There's an uncomfortable moment of silence.

Jake's blue eyes dart away from you. He clears his throat, then gruffly mumbles something that might be sorry.

He slowly holds his arms out, offering to try the hug again. He does want one from you.

Helena Harper

A startled grunt escapes Helena's lips. Her body tenses for a beat.

"...What're you doing?" she asks.

"Hugging you," you answer. Okay. Helena knew that. She wasn't expecting such a plain answer, she was expecting... She didn't know what she was expecting.

Whatever. This is nice. With a small sigh, she returns the hug.

Her hold is loose at first and gradually grows stronger.

Ada Wong

The mutual feelings between you and Ada are obvious. More so on your end than hers. She tends to keep true affection dangling just out of reach.

Soft stuff like hugs? Not commonly received. Even more rarely given. Surprise is an understatement here.

Ada hums. There's soft amusement there.

When she reciprocates, her arms wrap around you almost lazily.

She'll let you hold on for a bit. After all, who knows when you'll get to see her next.

Chris Redfield

(I, uh... don't have GIFs of Chris post-Edonia on hand, but know that's the Chris we're talking about here).

Chris is at a point in his life where he won't admit he needs a hug, but he does. Desperately.

At first, his hands grasp your biceps, and it seems as though he might reject your hug.

But then, he slowly wraps his arms around you, pulling you impossibly closer and squeezing you tightly.

He's never been one for long hugs, but he remains in your embrace for quite a while.

When he pulls away, you find that his gaze has softened, though only briefly.

Piers Nivans

When you practically throw yourself at Piers, it's like stepping on a beartrap. Except it's far more enjoyable!

His hazel eyes widen a fraction in surprise.

As soon as you make contact, his arms immediately close around you tightly. Congratulations, you are now trapped.

Not only does he hold you for a long time, but he also gives you a few good squeezes.

When you finally pull apart, Piers sends you a smile, keeping his hands on your shoulders.

Leon Kennedy

Things have been especially rocky and insane lately, so the hug is a pleasant little surprise.

The corners of Leon's lips lift momentarily. He huffs out a quiet ghost of a laugh.

After a second, his arms wrap firmly around your waist in return. His tiredness shows.

He takes a deep breath, inhaling your scent.

Two seconds of silence pass. He makes some borderline cheesy remark about how you can't keep away from him.

Okay I'm going to be super honest with you- at some point this started to really start to dance into crack territory, but it was Genuinely fun! So!

Albert Wesker~

He drove the van here

He’s going to act like he’s just soooo above it all. Like this silly little outing is nothing more than a waste of time and “Don’t we have better things to do?” At the same time, he’s going to be genuinely offended if you suggest leaving without getting a funnel cake

He gets a big kick out of going onto the rides that take your pictures at the end and looking the camera dead in the lens- straight stoned face. He never buys them though- You want him to spend 30 dollars on what essentially amounts to fancy paper with a bunch of strangers on it? Genuinely, with nothing but malice in his heart, you can eat his ass. He just takes a picture of it with his phone and moves on

He is NOT a fan of the mascots. At all. You’d think a guy who's been through The Horrors™ as many times as Wesker has wouldn’t think twice about a guy in a rat costume. You’d be wrong. Something about their dead eyes, permanent smiles, and the fact that sometimes you can see the human eyes peeking out of their mouths just Does Not Sit Right With Him. He’s not scared, no, that would be childish. But he is on guard

At some point- you’re going to have to find a semi dark place while he waits for the migraine meds to kick in. The sounds of screaming children, the bright sun, the heat- sensory nightmare. Let him sit with his earbuds in for a second, he’ll be ready to go again in thirty minutes

He is almost shockingly good at skeeball. He insists to you that he’s never played before- this is in fact his first time at an amusement park after all. You don’t believe him, but you’ll take the giant plushie he won you as a prize anyway

He’s actually a big fan of the Ferris Wheel. It’s one of the last things you guys do, so it’s later at night when you do it. He’s genuinely captivated by the rainbow lights of the fair and the crisp summer air. He even puts his arm around you, which is like third base for him! (/j but also kinda /srs)

Any sort of water ride and he’s out. Sorry, walking around in soaked socks and shoes when you don’t have to genuinely sounds like a nightmare.

At first, he’s reluctant to stay for the firework show. Are you not tired? Have we not done enough? Where do you get this energy from- peepaw needs a nap. But, then they start up and he gets it. The pretty lights, the energy of the crowd. Okay, he sees the appeal

You’re going to have to put up with him blasting Bowie on the way home btw. You’re both tired, but his need for control won’t let him allow anyone else to take the wheel. But, this does come with the rare sight of seeing Wesker actually loosen up a bit and sing along with a song- so really you’re the winner here

Chris Redfield~

Chris brings a very Dad energy to the table. He’s the guy that’s reminding you to put on sunscreen, and take breaks, and drink water- generally just trying to keep you alive. Ironically, he keeps forgetting to do these things himself

Chris is mostly here for the food I'm ngl to you. Where else is he going to get deep fried turkey leg wrapped in a soft pretzel drenched in nacho cheese? No where, it’s not ethical to combine that many flavors anywhere else- let him have this

He’s not actually a huge fan of rollercoasters. He’s happy to hold your bag and wait while you ride them, but he gets enough excitement from his job on a day to day basis. The pacemaker can’t handle much more stress than he already puts in under. (Ignore the previously mentioned turkey leg monstrosity when he says this)

He is a big fan of dark rides though. He likes the story that they tend to tell and that they tend to be. Key word tend. Chris isn’t a coward, he’ll get on the Tower of Terror (may she rest in peace) it just isn’t his favorite thing in the world

So, I feel like we all have that one friend who has The Curse™. You know the one, the one that makes it to where wherever you go to any sort of amusement park, carnival, or outdoor outing it rains? Like, it could be clear blue skies across the board on the forecast, but a downspout has manifested out of nowhere? Yeah, that’s Chris. He’s developed an appreciation for the stage shows because of this, and it’s where his fondness for dark rides was born from. And you thought he was crazy for bringing a raincoat

You know the couples shirts that are horrendously heteronormative? His Minnie, her Mickey; His Beauty, Her Beast, ect ect. You know the ones? He forces you guys to wear those shirts. Only, He’s the one wearing the “Girl shirt” (please hear my eyeroll when I say that) And you wear the “Boy Shirt” (Eye roll, can you hear it? Can you hear me rolling my eyes so aggressively I saw the back of my skull?) Purely because he finds it funny and does not know shame.

Okay, so High Striker: It’s the strong man carnival game. You know the one, hit a target with a mallet, and a ball goes up to ring a bell. You know that one? Okay cool- So that game is rigged by having a mechanism the game master can control to change what amount of pressure is needed to make the ball go up. They can make the game impossible to win, or so easy a child could do it. This is all set up to say that Chris barely got the ball halfway up the bar and you straight up rang the bell. You would think this would hurt his pride- but quite the contrary! He spends the rest of the day bragging about you to anyone who will listen instead

I think Chris carries you around the park when you get tired. That’s it, that’s the point. Doesn’t matter what size you are, he didn’t spend that much time in the gym not to be able to pick up and carry his partner when they’re tired

Chris is actually a really big fan of the firework show. I have a headcanon that Chris is a little bit of a firebug (This is due to my own liberal use of incendiary grenades) so if you’re down to stay and watch the pretty fire fill up the sky- he’s more than happy to join you. That being said, he’s also not going to protest if ya just wanna go home

The ride back is a calm, windows down with classic rock playing kinda ride. He’s already starting to turn red on his nose and cheeks, but that's a problem for tomorrow Chris

Leon Kennedy~

Generally speaking, Leon isn’t really an amusement park type of guy. They’re really overwhelming. But, he’s also just happy to be anywhere you are, and he doesn't dislike them. So here we are!

That being said, he definitely takes pictures with all the mascots cause he thinks it’s funny. Like when the goth kids go and see Santa at Christmas. It’s also definitely to heal his inner child, but you won't catch him admitting to that

If you guys do go to the Rat Park, he spends the entire time being a little bit put off by the mouse’s cult. Grown ass adults competing with literal children will never not be pathetic to him, and he will in fact voice it. What are they gonna do? Pick on someone their own size? doubtful.

He likes a decent mix of rides, but he refuses to go on any roller coasters that have a loop. Yes, he understands they are perfectly safe. Yes, he knows how they work with centripetal force. He’s aware of all of these facts. But you’re straight up not going to logic him out of this one babes

Leon, much like Chris, will eat just about anything put in front of him- he is not picky. He has a side quest to find the weirdest food that the park offers and try it. So far it’s been the turkey leg monstrosity. He did not finish it.

As far as games go he sees them as a bunch of giant, rigged scams that are akin to gambling- without the randomized aspect. Ya just gotta home the game master likes you. That’s why he sticks to the tried and true and never ever rigged claw machine. And he’s shockingly good at it too, he’s serious about getting that off brand Scooby Doo in a fireman costume plushie

I think he would genuinely kill over from dehydration if you weren’t there constantly reminding him to hydrate. I’m sorry, Leon gives me the vibes of a guy who straight up doesn’t drink enough water, ya gotta force it (in a loving way ofc)

I think he’s another victim of the “this is overwhelming and I have a headache” curse. Expect to find yourself at one of the indoor stage shows while he slumped down, sunglasses on and earbuds in, waiting for the ibuprofen to kick in. Would water help this condition? Yes. Will that convince him to drink it more regularly? Probably not

Leon is not down for the fireworks. Like, if you really insist, watching from the car is an option. But he really doesn't want to stick around for the loud booming noises followed by the crowd crush of people leaving. Sorry Dear

He does seem more lively on the way home than he did on the way there, and with a little bit of prodding, you may even be able to get him to admit he had fun!

Piers Nivans~

Piers planned the trip. His family used to take a trip to the Rat Park every year, to say he has this down to a science is an understatement. It’s an art and he is a master. Just tell him what rides you wanna ride, where/what you wanna eat, and if you wanna hit up any of the shops and then leave it to him. 

He’s efficient and keeps a tight schedule, knowing when to get on what rides to avoid long lines and when to do other things. That being said, he’s not inflexible. If plans change or something comes up, he’s generally pretty good at restructuring and planning on the fly. Even though he’s really rather not

Piers is an adrenaline junkie. Unlike Chris, he craves the thrill without the imminent threat of death looming over him. As such, he wants to ride every roller coaster at the park. The more Gs, the better. It gets him out of his head.

He’s also not a fan of the mascots, but in the same way Wesker isn’t. Apparently one time when he caught Cinderella smoking on her break once before they really cracked down on that and the magic was just ruined. Now he just sees some underpaid and overworked employee cooking themselves alive in those costumes and just feels sad

He’s like, lowkey a snob about the food im ngl. Like, all the really popular things everyone wants are great, and if you really want it sure, but there's like, a hundred other places with better food and shorter lines, you gotta trust him on this. And the worst part is: He’s right, the public hypes up the most mediocre things while ignoring the extraordinary

He’s also a big advocate for checking out the stage shows. You don't have to stay for the whole thing, but they’re in air conditioned buildings where you can sit and recuperate, and they actually tend to be pretty good! Well, decent, but it’s a good way to take a break

As far as the games go- he sucks at them and doesn't even try to hide it man. ON a battlefield he’s sharp, with surgeon steady hands and laser focus. You want him to throw a bean bag into a clown's mouth? Completely incapable. You’re not sure if he’s actually just that bad, or if he’s playing it up cause he thinks it’s funny. 

Self appointed Keeper Of The Things. Cards, hotel keys (If ya traveled), IDs, anything deemed important he’s the one keeping track of them. It’s not that he doesn't trust you- it’s more of a “If something goes wrong I only have myself to blame and I’d rather be mad at myself than at you.” Does that make sense? Does anyone else do that? Just me? Okay, well now Piers does too

Piers is neutral to the firework display. Seen one light show, you’ve seen 'em all. But, if you really want to watch them, who is he to tell you know? They are really pretty

If he’s not in the driver's seat, he’s passing out immediately on the car ride back. In his defense, he’s been up since like 4 am planning and getting everything ready, it's almost a miracle he didn’t pass out on one of the dark rides

Chris Redfield: General Headcanon

Request: "I saw your post wanting more requests/head cannons, and I was wondering if I could request again? if not that's chill lol. but if you are I'd love to hear your head canons just about Chris in general."

I had an idea to try and do two timelines seeing as Chris has been through a lot, so I did some for pre-trauma and post-trauma, hope you guys enjoy

Happy reading my lovelies

Pre-trauma Chris (before S.T.A.R.S & Early days in raccoon city) (Basically, before the horrors of the spencer mansion & umbrella’s bioweapons wrecked his life)

Optimistic but reckless – Chris was always a bit of a maverick, known for his rebellious streak in the air force before being discharged. He believed in justice but wasn’t afraid to bend the rules if he thought it was the right thing to do. He had an innate desire to protect people, but back then, it was driven more idealism rather than deep personal scars. 

Big brother mode – He was probably always overprotective of Claire, even before their parents passed. He likely worked multiple jobs to support her, possibly taking on security gigs or military contracts before joining S.T.A.R.S. when she went off to college, he definitely called way too often to check on her.

Life of the party (kinda?) – Before everything went to hell, Chris was actually more sociable. He enjoyed going out for drinks with his S.T.A.R.S. teammates, cracking jokes with Barry and Joseph, and teasing Jill about being too serious. He wasn’t exactly wild, but he had an easy-going charm that made him well-liked.

Adrenaline junkie – Even his early days, Chris had a habit of throwing himself into danger. He loved high-risk activities: skydiving, rock climbing, motorcycle racing. He was that guy who thought nothing of jumping out of a helicopter for fun.

Terrible cook – The man could survive in extreme conditions but could not cook to save his life. He either ate out a lot or relied on MREs way more than he should have. Claire probably tried to teach him, but he never really got the hand of it. 

Post-trauma Chris (post-spencer mansion, post-Raccoon city, BSAA days & beyond) (Basically, after Resident evil 1 and progressively worsening after the tragedies in Code Veronica, RE5, RE6 ect…)

Burden of leadership – After losing countless teammates and friends, Chris became more of a hardened leader. He still had a deep sense of responsibility, but it weighed on him differently. Instead of reckless optimism, his hero complex became almost self-destructive. He constantly put himself in harm’s way, believing it was his duty to bear the burden. 

PTSD & Survivor’s guilt – No matter how many missions he completes, how many bioweapons he destroys, he never feels like he’s done enough. The ghosts of spencer mansion, Raccoon city and Kijuju haunt him. He likely has nightmares about the people he couldn’t save, whether it’s his fallen S.T.A.R.S. teammates, Piers Nivans, or even enemies like Wesker, who embodied the fight he could never truly escape. 

Alcohol as a coping mechanism – During his darker moments (RE6 timeline especially), Chris turned to alcohol to numb the pain. He never let it affect him in the field, but when he was alone? He drank to forget. This was especially bad after losing Piers, Chris went completely off the grid, drowning in guilt before being pulled back into the fight.

More closed off, less playful – The guy who used to joke around and enjoy team outings became more distant over time. He still cracks the occasional dry joke, but his humour became darker and rarer. Only people like Jill or Claire could get a real laugh out of him. 

Still a protective big brother – Even after everything, Claire remains one of the few people who can get through to him. He still worries about her constantly but tries not to smother her (she absolutely calls him out when he does). He keeps tabs on her work with TerraSave, sometimes anonymously ensuring her safety.

Military precision, almost to a fault – By the time of the BSAA, Chris became even more disciplined, almost machine-like. He planned missions meticulously, trained obsessively, and pushed his body to the absolute limit. He knew that one mistake could cost lives, and he refuses to let that happen again.

Aging warhorse mentality – By the later games, Chris is exhausted. He knows he’s getting older, he knows he can’t keep doing this forever, but he doesn’t know how to stop. Retirement isn’t an option in his mind, he believes the fight won’t end until he’s dead. (Or until someone, like Claire or Jill, convince him otherwise.)

Still has a good heart – Even after everything, Chris never lost his core. He still fights for the innocent, still risks his life to stop bioweapons from spreading, and still believes in doing the right thing. He’s just a lot more battered, bruised, and wary than he used to be.

Piers Nivans General Dating Headcanons

🌙 Piers is a very dedicated man, especially when it comes to your relationship. He's always there for you, even when he's halfway across the world, it always seems like he's there when you need him most.

🌙 He's a total show-off. Whether it's his strength or his accuracy, he will do anything to get you to fawn over him. He's a big fan of easily hiking you up by your hips to sit you down on the kitchen countertop before caging you in.

🌙 He loves being called all of the pet names you can think of. Even some of the more ridiculous ones, he loves it all. What he doesn't love is that the rest of the squad, especially Chris, teases him with those names. The comms line is constantly full of it, too.

🌙 Piers is a very touched-starved man. The second he comes through the front door, he marches through your home in search of you and won't stop until he's found you and wrap you in the tightest of hugs while planting a big fat kiss to your face.

🌙 There was one incident where he came home earlier than expected, didn't tell you, and went through the entire place before he found you showering in the bathroom. It was safe to say, Piers now gives you a good heads up on when he's coming home.

🌙 Speaking of missions, Piers always makes sure to bring you back something from his journies. Whether it's something bought from the local shops or something he found while out and about, he brings it home. On the occasions where it's a strict in-and-out procedure, you can bet his ass is scrambling to find something state-side before coming back home.

🌙 He really enjoys holding your hand. As much as he loves your body as a whole, your hands are his favorite. He would hold your hands forever if he could. He especially loves mindlessly toying with your fingers when he's deep in thought or even just holding your hand while he's driving. It keeps him feeling grounded.

🌙 He's big on helping around the house when he's home, keeps him from getting lazy to avoid Chris' stone-cold judgemental gaze. However, the things he does around the house has to be with you. Washing dishes? He's drying them. Folding clothes? He's sorting them and putting them in the basket.

🌙 He's also big on dates. Whether it's going out or staying in, he's down for anything with you. He knows you don't wanna go to all of these fancy places every night when he's home from deployment, and he's totally okay with it too. He is always ready to just chill at home with you in sweatpants and a messy t-shirt and eat your hearts out in Chinese food while binging a show you both had wanted to watch together.

🌙 He's big on showering together, too, and not even in a sexual way most of the time. There's something about just being together in the downpour from the shower and being so close to you that makes him feel all warm and fuzzy inside despite the water always running cold eventually.

🌙 What he's not big on is silence. He hates it, it always makes him feel like something is wrong and he can't stand it. When he's gone, he always asks you to text him, call him, leave him messages even when he can't get back to you quickly. Just seeing something from you every few hours keeps him calm, and hearing you in his voicemail soothes his nerves.

🌙 He has to sleep with background noise at night. There's sadly no way of getting around it if you're not the type of person who likes that. He doesn't like white noise, so it's often a show or a video he puts on before he falls asleep which is most likely after you do. There have been a few incidents where he puts something on Youtube and you both wake up to something creepy or very weird on the screen.

🌙 If you show up to the base while he's on the clock and undeployed, he really makes a show for you which often ends with you laughing as Chris shouts for "lover boy" to get his ass back in line.

🌙 Leaving you is always the hardest part of his job. He wants to so desperately stay home and in your safe and loving arms. You always follow him to the base and watch him get ready. He's always the last to board, standing there, arms wrapped around each other. He always kisses you like he's going off to war, like he'll never come back.

🌙 He always brings a photo of you with him wherever he goes, and oftentimes, it's multiple. One in his wallet, a few in his locker, one somewhere on his belt in one of the many small bags. His favorite is the one he keeps in a pocket he stitched to the inside of his uniform right over his heart.

🌙 He will let you put makeup on him, especially nail polish. Sadly, the polish has to come off completely before his next deployment, but he will definitely rock it until then. There was one time he wore full-on acrylics thinking it wouldn't be bad until he learned his lesson.

🌙 He likes to indulge in your hobbies where and when he can, especially if it's anything artsy. One of his favorite things to do is to pose while you're just drawing something completely different. Oftentimes, you'll get distracted and suddenly find yourself sketching your boyfriend over something completely different and have to start over.

🌙 If you do anything with clay, he is totally the type of guy to sit behind you and "help" while it's spinning. It always ends up in a big mess of water and mushy clay.

🌙 He's the type of guy to get hurt if you watch anything about a show you two planned on watching together. Especially if it's something full of drama.

🌙 He hates the look on your face when he comes home all bruised and patched up. He hates making you worry so fucking much. He calms you down, bringing you close and telling you not to worry and that he's fine now. He'll even let you play nurse with his wounds and change out the bandages when needed.

🌙 He is a fucking heat sponge and he knows it. Every night, he snuggles up to you all innocently and very quickly it becomes obvious that he's sucked up all of your body heat for his own greedy purposes. Sucks to such if you're also a heat sponge, but a heated blanket will definitely be one of his more prized possessions.

🌙 He's very early to rise thanks to the military background, so often times he's awake after you fall asleep and getting up far earlier than you can. He's always there, waiting, with fresh coffee or tea. He doesn't like to eat breakfast before you, so he'll wait until you wake up to heat up the stove.

🌙 There's been quite a few times where he would seriously consider taking an early retirement from fieldwork. Just the thought of him dying somewhere completely away from you and not being able to say goodbye or even let you say goodbye to him properly scares the absolute shit out of him.

Dying Twice

My return to the Resident Evil fandom simply would not be complete without this post.

This post is about Piers Nivans, the most heroic and worthy protagonist ever to give his life for the cause. It is about my son, my blorbo before blorbos were even a thing, the character who changed me as a person just from playing this game.

Chapter 5 of Resident Evil 6's Chris campaign starts with the descent into Hell. They've tracked Sherry and Jake to an underwater base off the coast of China, where Carla Radames housed her greatest projects. As they descend down to the sea floor, Chris and Piers talk about the fate of the world and the future--which leads Chris to say that he wants to retire and give his position to Piers, trusting the BSAA and the future of the world to him.

Piers, of course, says he isn't ready--but we don't believe him. We believe Chris, who believes in him, and we've been given every reason to. We've seen the character arc Chris went through, descending into the spiral of petty vengeance, losing focus and losing his new team as a result, feeling that crushing responsibility, but pulling out of it and getting a hold of himself thanks to Piers.

Throughout the story, Piers has been Chris' rock, his tie to the world in spite of raging emotional instability, constantly obeying his orders even when he disagrees with them but never doing so without calling Chris on his terrible decisions and advising him on how to do better.

Chris is emotional, guys. Even as a storied, skilled veteran of the fight against bioterror, his flaws remain consistent and acknowledged, as they have been since Resident Evil 1. He carries immense survivor's guilt and blames himself when others die, even when it isn't his fault--and spirals when it actually is. We see that he treats his soldiers like a family, and is suitably devastated when he fails them and they die. Piers isn't playing some polar opposite to him this whole time--he's just as emotional and driven as Chris, but keeps Chris steady. The whole reason the story even happens is because Piers went back to Edonia, tracked down Chris, and brought him back into the BSAA to be a hero once again. He brought photos of those men they lost with him--Ben Airhart, Carl Alfonso, Andy Walker, and of course, Finn Macauley. To force Chris to remember. Because even though Chris wanted to forget--the most human response he could've had--Piers couldn't let him do it, because forgetting them would've been the same as killing them twice.

Piers does not fucking rest, he does not fucking quit. He doesn't sleep until the job is done. Even when faced with the biggest, most nightmarish creature a mind like Carla's could come up with, and every reason to be scared, he doesn't show fear. His only thought is that he has to end this nightmare for the sake of everyone else. It's what makes him so like Chris and so well-fitted to step into his shoes and take up his mantle.

Not to mention the part where he lifted a fucking bulkhead by himself, battle-weary and exhausted, to give Chris' big ass time to climb back up.

Piers isn't ready to die. He says as much himself while fleeing HAOS, who's trying to smash the whole facility apart to get at him--he says he'll be damned if he's gonna die here. So we know he doesn't want to die. He wants to live, and to fight, and to breathe. But, of course...

The devil catches up with them, and he has to make a choice. He knows he's giving up his life, and he does hesitate--only for a moment--but he goes through with it. There's no other option, and if he doesn't do it, Chris and the world are both doomed. He drags himself over to that syringe and willingly gives up his life and humanity to save them. Piers, you fucking immortal legend.

The final fight, in fact, can't be won without Piers, as without his lightning ability, HAOS will just regenerate in its Chrysalid every time it takes enough damage.

After that thing goes down for the seeming last time, Chris and Piers have their talk. Piers opens by apologizing. He's sorry that he did this--that he did the one thing BSAA soldiers, the people who fight bioterror, aren't supposed to do. That he gave up his humanity. He has this pleading tone to him, like the sound of a man trying to explain himself to someone he expects will be disgusted or disappointed or even angry.

The way Chris takes his hand behind his head and makes him look him in the eye, forces him to swallow any self-sacrifice bullshit, assures him they are both getting out of there alive...

He knew what Piers was thinking, and was having none of it. No more losses. No more good men dying.

It's all Piers can do to flee the facility as it collapses around them, and he's collapsing with it, the C-Virus taking over his body. Chris reassures him that they're both getting out--and he nods, but you can see the doubt on his face. And he knows how this ends, no matter how much he doesn't want it to. There's only one path to victory left.

The heroic music stops as the camera pans down to his ruined, mutated arm. It takes on a sad tone as he looks at his one remaining human arm, looking at the patch on it. Thinking of one last thing to give him. You can see it on his face. When Chris reaches his hand out, and Piers takes it, you can already see the BSAA patch missing from his sleeve.

The way Chris screams, pleads, begs him not to do it. And you can see him hesitating. Chris begs him to get in the pod, to come with him, tells him there's still time. And you can see that he wants to. He wants so badly to go with him but he knows he can't, and he forces it down and heads for the control panel.

And all he can do is smile sadly. No words left. Just one little memento. Something to remember him by.

That's all he wanted. All he really needed, to make it okay. So long as Chris remembered. So long as he didn't choose to forget again, so long as he didn't let him die twice.

I've always yearned for nothing less than for Capcom to take this back. To undo his death and bring back the man who made me cry so hard when it seemed like he had so much more to give. But I've always understood why he did it. That whole thing is who Piers was from start to finish--to not let people die for nothing. I don't think I could ever not cry watching the death of a man who loves life so much.

You know, I actually knew before I played the game that Piers died. That's the nature of spoilers, that even seconds after launch the news can be out. But I still played it, and still got invested, because I didn't know for sure if that was the truth or just a rumor. And I didn't know how he died. All I could assume was that maybe he took a bullet for Chris and would be some fallen partner to avenge before the final boss, to give the story some kick.

I didn't know it would unfold like this. I didn't know I'd come to love him so much. Resident Evil 5 me could not have pictured, could not ever have imagined Resident Evil 6. Protagonists might die, but heroes weren't supposed to die. The most I expected was another Steve Burnside, something tragic and meaningful, yes, but still a sacrifice to motivate the hero...not something to almost punish him for coming back to the fight.

But I know why he did it. It still makes me cry, because god damn it, but you have to respect it. He might have died, but he made sure he'd live forever in at least one way.

Piers Nivans

When Piers hugs you, he leans into the hug. Rather than feel afraid to hug you he'll lean all his weight into the hug. Piers may be a serious individual but at heart he's a softie, and a softie for you the most.

Okay so about your heights; If you're shorter than him he likes to rest his head on top of yours, interlocking his fingers with you as he does. Sometimes he'll just stand with his head on yours not doing anything else, but often he likes holding your hand.

There was this one time you fell asleep in each other's arms. Chris had come in and couldn't help but get a picture; yeah Chris may be a serious person but there are those times where he can't help but be mischievous. The next time Piers saw Chris he saw the photo of you and him asleep hugging and couldn't help but go red.

Now if you're taller than Piers is, he has to lean up into the hug. His head usually against your chest. Piers isn't short at all, but if his partner happens to be taller than he is [which wouldn't really be a surprise as he's surrounded/has been sorrounded by tall people i.e. Chris, Jake] he loves it just as much.

Leon Kennedy

Like Piers Leon leans into the hug, but he's more hesitant if that makes sense?

Leon is a "big bad dso agent" to a lot of people, but in reality he's a sweetheart. I mean he used to be a cop he's always wanted to help people so it's not a surprise how gentle he is with you. He's lost a lot so he's hesitant to hug you properly at first to scared he might accidentally hurt you or mess up in some way.

When you do hug however it's the sweetest thing. He likes planting kisses to your head, or running his fingers through your hair. If he's not holding onto you, that is. He also likes to whisper endearing words into your ear, stroking your back and humming to a song sometimes.

Speaking of heights: Leon isn't short, he's 5'11, so he's not short. He doesn't really care about his height though, but he does love how he can scoop you up into a hug, he adores it, adores how easy it is. Having you close to him to his heart makes his heart beat fast. He can't help it. If you're taller than him it doesn't make much of a difference but he does like to defend himself a little, though he’s not really offended or anything.

Chris Redfield

Like Leon Chris hesitates, but unlike Leon, Chris likes to crush you into a hug. He's not brutal with the crushing ofc but he likes just holding you tight in his arms. He'll whisper comforting words even when you don't need comfort, he's always thinking of you.

Chris likes to compliment you a lot so it's not a surprise when he compliments you over being shorter than him. He finds it really cute that he has to lean down to hug you, even cuter when he can just pick you up and hold you in his arms. If you're taller, however, which is a surprise since he's 6'1, he honestly really loves it.

Chris really loves sitting with you in his lap as you hug. He likes just having you close, having you physically close, because it reassures him that you ARE there. Chris has lost so much so many people that it scares him sometimes not having you close to him. You can tell too and make sure to reassure him that he's not imagining things and you ARE there, in his arms.

Chris especially loves when you get him into newer things like new music. So one minute he'll be holding you the next he'll be listening to some new song that had come out [and secretly liking it]. Or you'll be watching a movie and he'll act like he knows what some stuff they're saying mean but honestly has no clue. He just loves spending time with you.

Jake Muller

Jake likes to pick you up when you hug. He'll scoop you up into his arms and just hold you, like Chris, except he doesn't really know how to stop moving. Yes he'll stay still but sometimes he likes just moving around the room as you hug.

He's never really been close to anyone since his mother so for him to hug you, to hold you close, means he trusts you a lot. For him to even want to touch you just proves he's not some "cold mercenary"

Jake loves teasing you about your height if you're short. All in good fun, of course. He loves leaning down and smirking, saying stuff like "oh doll you're so short". Since Jake is super tall, I mean he's 6'3, he towers over you. He's like a tree that you have to climb just to hug him.

There was this one time where Jake had hug you. After holding you for basically an hour [not really but he felt that way] he had stood up and smacked himself on the doorway because of his height. You had spent the next half an hour trying to make him feel better while he acted like he was fine.

Luis Serra Navarro

Luis is a FLIRTER. So when you hug he often likes to spin you around with that grin you love so much. Then he'll dip you and plant a kiss on your lips loving when you either grow red or can't stop smiling. Luis adores you so much, he adores when you hug.

He's not as tall as other characters BUT he still hugs like you're the world. He likes to speak in his native tongue quite a lot, but there are the times where he accidentally slips into it while you're together. Hugging being one of them.

Luis absolutely adores hugging you. He pulls you into his chest and cradles you, every few seconds reminding you of how much he loves you. Although he loves the silence too so if you're silent while hugging that's perfect too.

Luis loves to tease you, just not as much as Jake. He makes some flirtatious teasing remark about how you're shorter than him, and that he can just pick you up and hug you whenever. If you're taller than him he'll joke that he can still pick you up even though it's often hard since he's shorter.

Finn absolutely ADORES you with his whole being. Being a 22 year old in THE B.S.A.A. is super stressful but knowing that he's coming to you makes things better. Not that he hates the bsaa it's just nice to know he has you. He also LOVES hugs and loves them with everything.

Finn will wrap his body around you and will practically cling to you. He holds you extremely close and will tell you about his day, "OH and at work today I got to lead the mission" stuff like that. You love hearing about his day especially when you're in his arms. Finn also appreciates how much you listen to him cause sometimes he thinks he's being a burden.

This one time you had visited Finn and the two of you were cuddling on the couch. That's when he got caught by Piers and Chris and could not stop the redness in his face, all the while Chris and Piers had the biggest grins on their faces. Seeing the boy who was like their brother so embarrassed, they couldn't help it.

Okay so: If you're shorter than him he takes advantage of this, finding it so cute to see someone to small in his arms, especially since you're his partner. He likes kissing you on the nose, he loves your lips, but kissing you on the nose is also extra special. He also likes giving you piggyback rides and smiles hearing when you laugh. If you're taller than him he still loves kissing your nose, and he still loves hugging you, he just has to stand up taller to achieve this. He does love looking up at you.

The field does not exist on any map.

It exists the way memory does—fractured, golden, and full of ghosts that still hum with warmth. A half-forgotten Eden, grown not from seed but from sorrow. It unfurls with riotous sunflowers, each a flame arrested in bloom, all of them craning toward a single constant in the sky.

The sunflowers sway as if agreeing. They lean in, greedy, hungry for the boy who once carried the ocean inside his lungs and didn’t drown. The boy who is no longer boy, no longer soldier, no longer human, but something beyond—and still, still Chris would follow him into hell if only he asked.

“I brought you something,” Chris says.

He offers a single sunflower. Not plucked. Not cut. Uprooted—roots exposed, raw, still dripping with earth like a wound. A gesture both violent and tender.

Piers takes it in his human hand, careful, as though afraid to bruise it with the weight of who he is. The flower droops slightly, not from fear, but reverence.

“It’ll die,” he says. “Everything I touch forgets how to live.”

Chris steps forward, until the breath between them feels sacred. “Then let me be the one thing that remembers.”

The words land between them like a vow carved into wet bark. Irrevocable.

The flower leans. It does not wilt. It bows—to him.

The field shifts. One by one, the sunflowers begin to turn. Not toward the sun. Not toward the sky.

Toward Piers.

Because he is not the monster they feared. He is the miracle they waited for.

exactly one person asked for a men's list when it came to my cooking headcanons list for the ladies so here ya go!

Chris Redfield- Actually a decent home cook because he was old enough to want to give Claire some of their mom's cooking when he could. Unfortunately, any time he tries a new recipe for the first time he burns it. The second or third time things come out fine, but the first time he does something new he's opening windows to let out the pan smoke or returning to coals in the oven.

Barry Burton- His wife does all the cooking as he's hopeless in the kitchen, but since they got married she's never had to wash a single dish. He always made sure there's a working dishwasher in their house for when he's away too long to do his usual chore.

Albert Wesker- Can make the fanciest looking food in the world. We're talking Michelin star $100 a plate in appearance only. His dishes have zero flavor. They taste. No one understands how this happens.

Leon Kennedy- Breakfast King. I know the line in damnation is too overused, but breakfast is actually the easiest way to start learning how to cook. Box mix pancakes, bacon, sausage, and eggs, all require him to put something in a pan on low to medium heat with some oil and poke it around until it's done. There's little effort exerted in monitoring since that's half his real job anyway. Of course it translates to cooking. He's perfected the timing. Everything else is take-out though.

Carlos Oliveira- He had no idea how to cook until he got out of Raccoon City and went home to his family. He tried learning from his mama, but she'd always take the knife or pan from him, so he learned from a sibling and is pretty good at it. He makes a lot of marinades, so the blender is his friend.

Luis Serra Navarro- Absolutely under no circumstances does this man belong in a kitchen. He will concoct the most wretched smelling health food that's full of vitamins, minerals, and "a healthy dash of vinegar for flavor". He's wonderful to have at the dinner table, but never at the stove. Makes a real tasty cup of coffee though.

Jack Krauser- For some ungodly reason, this man can take someone's most hated foods and make them taste good. No idea what the hell he does to it as he will kick everyone out of the kitchen until he's done, but he's just like that. Barely cooks not because he hates it, but because he has to be in the mood.

Piers Nivans- He's the king of the grill. Will lecture anyone in earshot about the important difference between gas, charcoal, or wood when it comes to maintaining the flavor of the meat. He also believes salt and pepper are all you need for a great burger which must be cooked to medium at the hottest lest it lose it's tenderness.

Jake Muller- Salads, smoothies, and overnight oats, he's the one making meals that are able to be eaten fast or on the go. Fruit counts as a dessert to him. He does enjoy experimenting by eating the "weird" or most unfriendly tourist foods while he travels so he has something to brag about, even though he could never figure out how to cook any of it himself.

Ethan Winters- He tries his best. He'll help Mia in the kitchen with food prep or clean up. He makes good dips for chips, has a delicious cookie recipe, and researched how to make baby food for when Rosemary stopped being breastfed. This somehow translated into him figuring out how to make very good custards and parfaits. Although, he got super frustrated trying to figure out how to make bread and has given up the fight.

i will happily do this again for any characters not on either of my lists since i love cooking and baking, and this is fun to think about

He escapes so that he can clear his head, slipping out a side door and into the much cooler evening air outside. The sun is almost fully set, the sky pink and purple as the crickets start to sing, and Piers Nivans is fucking tired. His head is pounding, and he's lost his tie at some point over the long hours, and he's overheated enough to fully unbutton his dress shirt so that he can wave it around to make a breeze. He tips his head back and focuses on breathing, the music blessedly quiet out here.

The happiest day of his life is getting to be a bit much.

He doesn't want it to end, necessarily, but he wouldn't mind if some people started going home or if someone lowered the volume of the entire room, but he'd planned this day for Leon and Leon alone because that man deserves nothing less than everything that he wants. And Leon has been so happy tonight that Piers can't bear to call it quits, not until Leon decides that it's over.

"Hey."

Piers jumps, twisting to look and relaxing again. Leon is standing with one hand braced on the door frame, lit from behind in the way that always sets his hair alight. He looks rumpled this far into the night, worn around the edges but still glowing. Piers can't help but smile.

"Hey, yourself," he says.

Leon steps down to join him as the music surges again, the very end of Y.M.C.A. winding down as some people cheer and laugh. Everyone was probably dancing to it. Hopefully they haven't started wondering where the grooms have gotten to.

"We can head up to our room if you want," Leon says, hovering a little. Piers doesn't mind, turning to welcome Leon into his space-- he'd always thought that people at weddings were exaggerating that pull, that need to be close the night of, but even he can't deny that it feels something like magic tonight. "Get some sleep?"

"Do you want to?" Piers asks.

Leon drifts closer, their hands brushing where they hang loose at their sides. "I want what you want," he says, bringing one hand up to brush his knuckles over Piers' cheek.

Piers can feel the heat in his cheeks. Leon isn't blinking, is staring right at him with his eyes gone softer than Piers had ever thought would be possible when they'd first met. Secret agent Leon Kennedy, ice queen of the DSO. God, how little he knew then.

"What I want," Piers says as he settles his hands on Leon's hips, "is for you to do what makes you happy."

Everyone they love is in the hotel, just through that door. There's good food and good drinks, good company, and alright music. This night is a celebration of what they are and what they're going to be and it's so, so important.

But Leon fully cups his face with one hand, the other settling on his shoulder, and he kisses Piers on the forehead long and slow and lingering. "I am," he says. "I'm with you."

His eyes water a little. He presses his forehead more firmly against the kiss and feels Leon's lips tilt up crooked and fond. He can just barely hear the next song begin to play, one he'd picked for the playlist himself-- a love song that Leon sings every time it comes on the radio, looking at Piers as he does.

"May I have this dance?" he asks, leaning back just so he can watch that smile widen.

"Depends," Leon says. "Can I kiss you?"

Piers doesn't justify that with a response. They kiss and they sway and no one comes looking for them for a long, long time.

✞If you are requesting please be specific about what you want. This includes characters, setting, whether it's ship/xreader/headcanons, and other criteria you want. I can't make it what you want if you don't tell me.

✞I will write smut, fluff, and angst. Headcanons, ships, x readers, preferences, etc are all acceptable within reason.

—> When it comes to smut I will write quite a bit, even somewhat darker themes (Again; I draw the line at things like rape). I may not be good due to having lack of practice from where I didn't write for awhile, my apologies.

—> When it comes to angst, I will write almost anything. I will write (TW) suicide, alcoholism and other addictions, etc. Though, I won't write EDs or self-harm. Similarly to smut, it may not be good due to lack of practice, my apologies.

—> Anything out of reason would be minor x adult in a pedophilic/romantic way, human x animal (no, this does not include monsters) in a zoophilic/romantic way, etc.

✞Be patient, I will want to take my time on requests for various reasons. Sometimes I need breaks, sometimes I don't have any ideas, sometimes I will have writing sprees. It depends on the minute, so again, be patient. If you complain about how long it takes your request will be deleted and ignored.

✞If you want to be tagged for any specific character(s), then put your username in an orderly fashion on the Google doc that I will have linked below.

✞I will mostly write m!reader (AMAB and AFAB), but if you do want f!reader or gn!reader just let me know in your request, and I will do. If you do not specify I will either do m!reader or gn!reader by default. The only exception to this is if it is a lesbian/sapphic character.

fon's 2023 in fic

so in order to distract myself from yet another fic flopping miserably i'm gonna do the compilation of all the flops from the entire year! :'D

a big big thank you to those of you who said nice words about my stuff, who left comments on the fics, and who helped me finish surprisingly many works this year. i am truly grateful for every single lovely comment i got! 💖 that is what kept me going, what made things feel worthwhile, and what helped me through many a dark moment.

i do still have works in progress but at the same time this sort of feels like a goodbye. idk. we'll see. but I can't keep pouring from an empty chalice and the fandom clearly does not want to help me fill it so we're at an impasse :'D it feels increasingly much that exiting stage left is the right move, as much as i don't want to and as much as it hurts to let go. but I digress.

on a more positive note, I can, hand to heart, say that I am extremely pleased with pretty much everything i wrote this year :D it's got to count for something, right!

Krauser/Leon

question all my doubts | E | 10k | Leon gets back home from Spain only to find none other than Jack fucking Krauser bleeding onto his living room floor. And no matter how many times Leon tries to walk away from Krauser he always ends up back to him.

(it might've been love but) it's over now | T | 1.4k | Krauser is dead and had no next of kin, so Leon goes through his scarce apartment to sort through the meager belongings left behind, while also sorting through his own mess of emotions.

(no one ever died from) wanting too much | M | 1.4k | Krauser gets injured but he can only focus on the dirty thoughts he has about Leon, while Leon tends to those injuries.

my tragedy and my desire | M | 2k |  Leon struggles through the mission to rescue the president's daughter, constantly feeling like he’s being stalked. He has no idea how right he is about that. And how bad things will end for him.

my religion my certain death my salvation my sacrilege | E | 2k | Krauser keeps Leon as his sex-slave. (sequel to my tragedy and my desire)

Piers/Leon with heavily featured Krauser or Krauser/Leon

all the tears and the fears and the lies and the cries of the past | E | 16k | Krauser kidnaps Leon on Wesker’s orders to use as bait. Piers heads out to save him, together with Chris and Jill. Things get really messy.

tear me open (and make me whole again) | M | 7.6k | Piers disappears, and soon after Leon starts receiving videos from an unknown email address. It's bad enough that Krauser is back, but watching him torture Piers to get back at Leon might just be the worst thing Leon has ever been through in his life.

haunt you like it's part of you | E | 3.7k | Krauser brands Leon as his own, ruining him for all others. For a while it seems he's won, but eventually Leon gets the happy ending he deserves.
