Sorry, but I just love the idea of possession Vore. Imagine-
A ghost, or better yet more than one, wants revenge on someone who’s still living. But naturally, because ghost, they can’t. They just have to sit there, watching said person live their life a-okay. But then enters the perfect vessel: a Pred with a beacon of spiritual energy coming from them. They don’t want to be involved in the ghost(s) nonsense one bit, maybe trying desperately to hide their Pred side, but the ghost(s) doesn’t care. It’s too great of an opportunity to pass up, truly. The Pred would make such a good puppet, it only makes sense. So, much against their will, possession happens. There they have to sit, practically booted from their own body, having to watch themselves be puppeted into eating this prey when they never wanted to. Then boom, the control is released and they’re tossed right back into their own body. Only now they’ve got a stomach full of one (or more) very frightened/scared prey who’s moving a lot. To make matters worse, they’re not so sure they dislike it…
It came to me in a daydream but the following scene got into my brain:
Hamilton standing on a table delivering a monologe being real magestic and prideful and collected. And when he finishes he realises that he has to get off the table but stumbling down would ruin this amazing picture so he hushes Laurens there to take him down the table.
And Laurens does by grabbing him like he weights nothing and puts him down directly in front of him and they stare into each other's eyes but then realise that they are in fact surrounded by people. So Laurens quickly brushes off Hamilton's shoulder and they both hold up their hands with a thumbs up going
"All good? " "All good." And then they akwardly smile while nodding.

Somewhat pursuant to this post (in the sense of productions' need to determine a sort of moral point of no return that is clear and unambiguous onstage) I also find it a deeply funny indicator of cultural differences that British theater practitioners talking about staging Doctor Faustus always lead off with a sort of embarrassed "well, of course nobody actually believes in any of that kind of stuff anymore so we had to cut a lot and focus on the psychodrama" and Americans always start with "well, we were staging the play at a small liberal arts college in the American South so we had to tread very carefully..."
like, I'm not at all opposed to using mental illness as a framework for reading this play! I do it all the damn time myself -- but I also think you can't let yourself be embarrassed by the Christian structure of the play if you're going to stage it. It may not be real to you but it's real in the play and you can absolutely layer the psychology onto that. Even if "we" aren't believers and even if our immediate cultural milieu is pretty secular we're still living on the bones of the culture that produced the Faust legend and the culture that Marlowe was railing against. If it's real to Faustus it will be real to the audience at least for the duration.
didnt even touch on the sandra lynn stuff int he tags of the last post bcos if i talk about her im liable to explode. get behind me, middle-aged divorced woman proficient in archery
Tbh Light's way too genuine (complementary) performance in the Death Note Musical when side by side with Ryuk's ✨way too camp✨(affectionate) performance perfectly encapsulates their dynamic.
Were you punished/discouraged from expressing your emotions? You feel like your feelings are a burden, don't you?
*sniff sniff* you probably have social anxiety
You actually crave friends but due to suppressing your emotions you've grown to lack social skills.
Your forgiving nature comes from you having to be the bigger person at all times.
You have a very low opinion of yourself and struggle with imposter syndrome. You latch on to anyone who shows you basic kindness for reassurance. You crave it and have moments of egotism
