"Not all those who wander are lost"
I needed a sash/belt for the dress in question. I am a huge nerd. Are we seeing where this is going? One very long needle point session later, here we are- with a belt made up of the phases of the moon, the symbol of gondor (split into 3 sections because I'm working with some damn small pieces) and the centerpiece- a quote from the riddle of strider transliterated into Tengwar! Namely, the quote above, because anyone who knows me knows how much I love to wander.

Theories
I don't follow what's up with the LotR show because I don't have Amazon Prime and I am uninterested anyway. Despite that, I can't avoid seeing a few things here and there on social medias because I'm mutual with other Tolkien fans (duh).
It came to my knowledge Galadriel has an OC evil brother named 'Adar'. This is Sindarin for Edit: father (singular). Either way, someone tried to pull an awful daddy joke on that brother. Don't wanna know what happened between the two. Kinda reminds me of Egyptian gods, but that's besides the point (or typical Finwëan family drama). Here's what I suspect:
• Finrod wasn't killed by werewolves. He's a dark servant of Sauron. He created lice with Sauron's help; that explains buzzcuts and beardless Dwarves.
• Finarfin is evil, started the kinslaying at Alqualondë, put the blame on Fëanor, got away with it. Prepares his comeback. Asked Melkor to spread lice on Middle Earth.
• Sauron was bored, watched GoT, Adar is in the facts an Orc, and he's messing up with us (what else is there to do when you can't forge evil rings?). Wonky family dynamics.
• The show is Gandalf's trip on whatever weed he's smoking. Fun stuff. Radagast is the dealer.

Bilbo: We're lost.
Thorin: No we aren't.
Balin: Yes we are.
Thorin: No, we aren't!
Bilbo: Fine then Mr. Navigator, where are we?
Thorin: Errr... uh, we are... right here.

My journey through uncertainty & embracing it.
Tumblr media
Once I was inspired and will be forever driven by JRR Tokien's famous words "Not all those who wanders are lost" and decided to make it a part of myself as tattoo.
Now that years had past this tattoo doesn't just became part of me but memorialized my journey turning a young adult into adulthood.
Let me take you into my journey into adulthood and embracing uncertainty with my journey through feeling lost
Do you ever find yourself wandering through life, feeling uncertain where you're headed? Because definitely I know I have. For the longest time, I felt like I was adrift, unsure of my purpose and direction. But as I've come to learn, being lost isn't always a bad thing. In fact, it can be the first step towards finding your true path.
Like many people, I've grappled with uncertainty about my career, relationships, and overall sense of purpose. It is easy to feel overwhelmed by the vastness of the world and the endless possibilities it holds. But in the midst of my confusion, I've stumbled upon a quote from JRR Tolkien that changed my perspective.
"Not all those who wander are lost"
These exact words stuck a chord with me. They reminded me that feeling lost is not a sign of failure, but rather an opportunity for growth and discovery. So I decided to lean into the uncertainty and embrace my journey, whatever it may lead me into.
I started exploring new interest and hobbies, stepping outside of my comfort zone and trying things I had never considered before. I immersed myself in new experiences – and with each new adventure, I discovered a little more about myself and what truly mattered to me.
Of course, the journey wasn't always easy. There were moments of doubt and fear, times when I questioned whether I was on the right path. But I learned to trust myself, to listen to my intuition and follow my heart - even when the way forward seemed unclear.
Slowly but surely, I began my way. I discovered passions and talents I never knew I had, forged deep connection with like-minded souls, and found fulfillment in pursuing my dreams - even if they didn't always align with society's expectation.
So if you ever find yourself lost, remember this:
You are not alone, and you are not without direction. Trust in yourself, embrace the uncertainty, and keep moving forward - because the greatest adventures often begin with a single step into the unknown.

Bilbo created the poem 'All that is Gold does not Glitter', also known as "The Riddle of Strider" in honor of his friend Aragorn:
"All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king".
So every time you hear "Not all those who wander are lost", remember Bilbo! Not Gandalf's, this phrase is often wrongly attributed to Gandalf (Gandalf says MANY other wise words, however highlighted was just his quote from Bilbo's poem).
Is a poem about Aragorn, created by Bilbo based on the past, lineage and expected future about Aragorn, and mentioned by Gandalf, who only uses the poem as a quote reference to Aragorn.
