I can't believe it's almost November, and I still don't have a job.

one thing i really enjoy doing in my journal is writing down beautiful poems, passages from novels, and film reviews that i come across. a few weeks ago, i watched la chimera and it was one of the best movies i've seen in the past decade. i'm still thinking about it, weeks later.... beautiful movies beget beautiful film reviews so i wrote down an excerpt of an nyt review🏺

does anyone know where i can get a normal ass relatively affordable notebook (dot or grid preferred but lined is fine too - not blank) with this kind of thick, recycled speckle-y paper? everything i can find is either stupid expensive and not actually a notebook ("guided journals" as pictured lol) or on the opposite end of the quality spectrum (tissue paper dollar store notebook). in my wildest dreams it's like a bound a5 that lies flat but i will take spiral too. as we once said in a long forgotten era: i have a mighty need please send me leads if u have them

i’ve been consuming an increasing amount of tea, wearing cardigans and waking up to the sound of rain, which is to say: i’m experiencing autumn in seville and my heart is full 🌾

sometimes the realization of time passing gets overwhelming; usually in the meditation of a long-held yoga pose, when the nostalgia steadily hits and outside the sun is setting and i want to capture it all (the view, the sound of slow breathing, the longing for familiar touch)

Two weeks ago, I lost my notebook. 📖

The one with almost everything I ever wrote poems, drafts, unfinished thoughts that only ever made sense to me. I left it in a very public place.

Then, before I even realized it was gone, I got a call from a guy who found it.

Here’s the strange part: I don’t remember ever writing my phone number in it. Not on the cover, not on the first page.

Maybe I scribbled it in one of those old dumb, unsent letters. I’m still not sure. (I haven’t gotten it back yet)

I never imagined anyone else reading those words, EVER. They weren’t meant for anyone to see but me.

But that’s what stuck with me the fact that I don’t even remember leaving my number.

Maybe I wrote it without thinking. Or maybe I wrote it for this exact moment for that notebook to fall into the right hands, not just anyone’s, so it could find its way back to me.

Maybe I was never meant to lose it at all in the first place.

That was the most quietly reflective thing that’s happened to me in a long time.
