But. Why. Is. The Irene dimension. A CHURCH for IRENE HERSELF???
Irene is literally the only person who goes to there so why have a million seats in the chapel dedicated to yourself??
The ideas I currently thought of areee:
Irene found places like that quite soothing as they were typically quiet since everyone was busy praying to her
The dimension was at one time an actual church to Irene before she sent it to this dimension (that wouldn't have any negative consequences. None once so ever.)
Irene is egoistical.
Similarly to Aphmau praying to Irene in MCD season 1, Irene would sometimes pray to a stronger version of herself while in her dimension. Since the world idolized her so much, the strong and stoic persona she became for them started to seem separate from herself who couldn't even keep her love life together and so she prayed to it, like those around her did when they felt weak. She prays to the concept of Irene. (Why yes! I do have a favorite headcanon!)
She needed a place with strong ties to magicks or something to make a dimension, where was better than a church where people would worship and pray to a god-like lady
It looks cool

The dichotomy of Brennan helping with ability score rolls for newer players:
Titan Takedown: Preps high-level base stats for the cast, with everyone having a 20 in their two most relevant ability scores and no one really having a genuine dump stat (no one's character has below a 14/+2 modifier in any ability), which allows the players to play to their class strengths and not have to worry about fucking up as much in a shorter, tighter campaign.
Fantasy High: Ally Beardsley rolls a 4 for Kristen's Dex and has to live with with the consequences of that for 6+ years

“dnd exp leveling is dumb,” i say into the mic.
the crowd boos. i begin to walk off in shame, when a voice speaks and commands silence from the room.
"they’re right," it says. i look for the owner of the voice. there in the second row stands: brennan lee mulligan.

Brennan’s talked before about how as a poor young adult he lived in New York and struggled with food security. He tells a story of going to frozen yogurt places for free samples and a cheap dumpling spot because it was a lot of food.
His opinions on food and his described behaviours around food make a lot of sense in that context. He may be successful now and can be assured he can eat again when he’s hungry, but it appears he has legitimate trauma around his experiences with poverty because what he’s humorously describing is a trauma response. His mind hasn’t gotten rid of the anxiety of “I’m eating now so I better make it count because I don’t know when I will again.”
Because he’s a comedian he manages to frame it as a joke, but there’s certainly an underlying sadness. It also informs Evan Kelmp’s characterization. Capitalism is the root issue here and poverty is state-sanctioned economic abuse.
Anyway, I hope he’s doing well and taking care of himself.

i am personally of the opinion that emily axford and lou wilson are the two best dnd players of all time. nobody has both the tactical genius and connection to their roles that they do. they don’t just play their characters, they ARE their characters. they could each give a masterclass on multiclassing as well.

My pinch hitter @d20exchange gift for arcanegoth on Twitter! Junior Year Riz has my whole heart (with a little Fabian cameo).
[Image Description: Fanart of a stressed out Riz Gukgak from Dimension 20's "Fantasy High: Junior Year." His arms are laden with color-coded folders, a binder for Kristen Applebees's campaign, an aviator's hat, a beekeeper's hood, and a spilling to-go coffee cup. The crystal in his pocket is pinging with a message from Fabian Seacaster. End ID]

DP x DC Prompt:
Because of their liminal biology, there are only a few products made by the exclusively living that actually work on them. That being said:
Sam, a natural blonde, is distraught to find out that her favorite brand of hair dye is being discontinued and pulled from shelves immediately!
She spends weeks trying to find a new dye that didn't wash out immediately, fade away in a couple of days, or give her an allergic reaction. It was driving her crazy, waking up every morning and having to see her blonde roots in the mirror.
And if Dash said she would look better as a blonde one more time, someone would be coming to school next week a ghost, and it wasn't her.
She had almost given up hope, when Tucker and Danny, like knights in shining armor, presented her with the familiar black box.
First, she interrogated them. Did they go back in the past for it? They weren't allowed to time travel anymore unless it was because of a mission from Clockwork. The last time they traveled time indiscriminately, it resulted in Amity Park's permanent residence within the Zone.
After pleading their innocence, they explained to her that while time-traveling was off the table, dimension-hopping was not. And after weeks of searching, they found the DC universe. Which, to their surprise, was much more similar to their home dimension than any of the others they've been to.
Hearing this, Sam becomes a bit jealous. She wanted to go dimension-hopping too! So she tells a big fat lie and says that they got the wrong color dye and that it would be better if she went and picked it herself.
They knew she was lying. They knew the color dye she used by heart but they wouldn't say anything. If Sam wanted to go dimension-hopping then she was, no ifs or buts.
Danny opens a portal to the DC universe, specifically to the city where they got the dye. And upon seeing the city, Sam fell in love. After high school, she was going to live there, no matter how much information she needed to forage. The gunshots from a couple of blocks over didn't deter her from her decision either.

It's been over a year since Junior Year dropped, and I'm still impressed that Beardsley never once bumped up Kristen's dex. You get ability score increases at levels 4, 8, and 12, and none of those increases went into making that negative three dexterity modifier into a more reasonable negative two or one. And yet, despite being only slightly more dexterous than a gelatinous cube, Kristen is still one of the most insanely powerful and efficient PCs in the world of Spyre.
