I had a thought yesterday night. I realized that almost all my traumas come from my father and the dysfunctional couple that my parents have. My mom is mostly the victim here, but still, their toxic couple dynamic scarred me for life.
Some examples:
In middle school, my father was crazy jealous and ultra controlling. He needed to know all my mom's whereabouts and would freak out if he saw her simply say hello to a male neighbor (but he had no problem flirting with every woman he would meet in the street...). Anyway, one day, he saw her looking out of the window and cooked up a story in his head that she was looking at a (nonexistent) lover (the street was literally empty). They had a huge argument because of that simple thing. During a car ride that evening, while my brothers and I were in the car mind you, he slapped her and throw her out. She had to walk back home and he didn't allow her to get in the house. I was freaked out obviously. But it's not over... A few days afterwards, he called for a "family meeting" (never had one of those beforehand) to let us know that he canceled our resident permit, that we were moving back to our home country, that he will divorce our mother and that we won't be seeing her anymore. I never cried so much in my life, I remember sobbing so much that I couldn't breathe. My reaction actually surprised him (the audacity). His answer to this horrible moment in my life: "hahaha it was just a joke, don't take it so seriously". Wtf! I'm not even kidding when I say that I had nightmares during months afterwards and I even got psoriasis from this whole event.
During my studies, I decided to do a year abroad. Before leaving for the fall semester, I worked with my mom during the summer to save some money. She worked as a cleaning lady and cleaned apartment buildings and stairwells. Obviously, we would bump from time to time into some people living there. Well... My dad helped me move to the country where I was doing my exchange. He actually drove me there. So I was stuck with him in a car for about 12 hours. After 2 hours of travel, he started his "interrogation". I felt uncomfortable and almost had a panic attack because I KNEW. I knew that it wasn't a random conversation, that every question was a trick and that he was looking for some kind of revelation. He wasn't just chit chatting although he was all smile and happy mood. He always used the same tactic with my brothers and I when he was fishing for information - and we learned to keep our mouth shut because he would overreact for the most random thing ever.... His goal with this whole conversation was to learn more about my mom's work and all the men that she was meeting there. Honestly, I remember being freaked out and I somewhat blacked out. My mistake was pretty much saying "oh yes there are male tenants there" (crazy right). Well, he drove me to my student dorm, took out all my things and drove right back home although he was supposed to stay a few days to visit with me. I remember seeing him leave in a hurry and I had a horrible feeling. I didn't hear from my mom for a few days which was weird - I mean I was abroad by myself and she wasn't even calling to see how I was doing? But I was afraid of calling her. Subconsciously, I knew something had happened and I didn't want to deal with it. Call it selfishness but after some time, it becomes too much to bear. It was actually my brother who texted me to let me know what was going on at home. My parents had a huge fight and he broke her back. My brother had to intervene and she had to be hospitalized. They lied and said that she had hurt herself at work... I felt horrible because I was the reason it happened. I mean sure, I know it's not me, but you can't help having those kind of thoughts. I made a second mistake: I texted my mom: "Hey I heard from #brother# what happened, how are you doing?". Problem: my father had my mom's phone and it lead to an argument with my brother who stopped talking with me for weeks afterwards because he was angry that I tried contacting our mom. The worst? My dad calling me and trying to downplay the whole thing, trying to coax me... I felt disgusted, but I played his game, like my brothers did, like my mom did. We all pretended it never fucking happened.
A few years ago, I was living in Paris for my last year of master's degree. I came to visit my parents during Christmas break. My mom had been gifted some chocolate by some old ladies where she was cleaning and wanted me to pretend that I was the one who bought it for her. Nothing new, we always had to lie about things like that because again my dad is far from being a normal human being. A few days after I came back in Paris, I remember being in the metro with my friends. We had just finished our class and we were going back home. I had received a message from my dad and when I opened to read it, it was simply "Where did you buy the chocolate?". I just broke down crying. In the middle of the metro. Just because of this one fucking text message. I actually had a full blown panic attack and it freaked out my friends. I was terrified of answering this one dumb little question. Because I knew that it was fifty fifty. I couldn't call my mom to match our stories and I didn't know what exactly she had told him. Anyway, I gave the wrong answer and my mom paid the price.
Kinda a depressing post. I came back to live with my parents two years ago and it's so weird seeing them have a "normal" relationship (for what it is). I'm angry because they fucked my whole childhood and now they are all lovey dovey. My mom told me a few months ago regarding my celibate status which bothers her greatly: "Sometimes, I feel like it's our fault.". Yeah, it surely is my dad's fault. Men are really trash, you won't be able to change my mind.

listen,, yknow how nuwa leaves the imperfections in her creations?
and that mk is currently mentally dealing with his faults and problems?
well do u think mk would be mad at her for making him be so flawed? :)

Personaly think that, if Nuwa does care for MK it's out of the kind of love an artist may have for their favored creation, a beautiful, flawless little thing she sculpted to divine perfection, worthy of every admiration
I'm down for most interpretations that aren't "Omg!!!! Nuwa is MK's mom!!!" or any care/love Nuwa has for him being a result of motherly instinct.
For me I'll always go back to "A simple creature, with no past, no family, and no name." (which was said AFTER we had already gotten flashes of an implied creator). Like if nothing else, MK was catalyzed with no family (including any familial connection to his creator). SO. I'm just really interested in where this is going to go tbh

One of the hardest parts of being an adult is accepting the fact that there are, some people who will intentionally or unintentionally drift away from you.
Your best friend, who used to claim to always be by your side, is now not answering your texts for months. You're used to people leaving you, but drifting away from the person you've always considered a permanent fixture in your life is something you're not prepared for.
So, you learn how to live without their constant presence. You distance yourself, because what are you supposed to do anyway? Asking them to pay attention to you?Yeah no.
Or maybe you should. You should've tell them that you miss them, and you're also mad at them because after your text asking for their help has been gathering dust for weeks, they just pop up with a "hi! sorry I've been really busy lately. How are you?"
You resist the urge to reply with a "fuck you" message.
But you know how happy and busy they are now. They're living their best life and bursting their happiness bubble is the last thing you want to do.
It may take a long time to fill the space they left behind. So until then, all you can do is get used to walking alone. After all, in the end you only have yourself.

yo, owner of daily demon spotlight here, what'd you think of smt v? i wanna have tempered expectations for when vengeance comes out, so i was curious how someone who played it felt about it. ty in advance! :)
hi!! overall i really liked smtv tbh, at least enough to keep playing to get every ending (and then see the vengeance reveal THE NIGHT I FINISHED MY LAST RUN 😭)
i'll try to keep it a little vague in case you don't want too many spoilers but......there's still some spoilers lmao i'm so sorry but i at least tried to leave out the huge details or not explicitly say them
in terms of gameplay, it's really fun!! it's pretty difficult at first (i played on hard mode my first run but i've read that normal and casual can be challenging too i guess esp if you're new to the series) but it gets easier as you progress. a lot of people seemed to have a problem with the level scaling, esp for the shiva battle since he's a lv96 superboss (optional really but required for the secret neutral ending) but the bosses in the very final dungeon are like......lv80-85. even the final boss is only like lv85 unless you're doing the secret neutral route then he's lv90 i think. i didn't really think much ab the level scaling until i saw other people talking ab it but.......yea i had HUGE problems with shiva, i had to max out the level of my whole team just to take him on, but then it turned the endgame bosses into a total joke. i had a hard time with some of the other bosses too, the ones i remember the most being hydra, nuwa, lahmu, surt, and vasuki but it might be different on lower difficulties. the magatsuhi gauge + the skills were fun to use but the one you get at the very beginning that just comes with being a nahobino is.........kinda the only one you really need a lot of the time since you can just crit everything when you use it. it didn't really make all of the other ones obsolete tho since some were really good for survival like buffs/healing, it's just that it was a little too easy to get away with using the critical one for most of the time
oh, the unique skills were a good addition too, a lot of them were super useful like idun's, demeter's, and danu's since they all had good healing + extra effects. a lot of the new demons were good too, i haven't used all of them but the ones that i did use either really saved my ass or i just enjoyed having them on my team. although, i'm pretty disappointed the last 3 bosses aren't fusible and i'm ESPECIALLY disappointed that lucifer isn't fusible considering he was in apocalypse. he has such a good design in this game i'm so upset i can't have him on my team 😭 oh yea, and demons being locked behind an alignment is a little annoying but i don't really mind it much????? idk i feel like it gives the game a little more replay value, so i don't mind as long as it's not overly difficult to get. danu. inanna. and maria being locked behind certain alignments and ALSO being locked behind 70% compendium completion was a little annoying, but if you've got the macca to burn you can just summon directly from the compendium for new fusions until you get 70%, so it's not overly difficult to do. maybe a little tedious. i also liked the essence mechanic, but getting them was SUCH a pain since there isn't really any consistent way to farm them except for the aogami essences which are a little easier to get. i prefer the demon whisper from iv/a tbh but essences makes it easier to get certain skills on demons without having to do fusion gymnastics to get the perfect build
another thing is that there were only two real dungeons since the open areas were kinda supposed to serve as dungeons to a certain degree, but those two dungeons were........pretty underwhelming. the first one was really annoying cus it had a fan mechanic that would blow you to certain areas around the rooms and you kinda had to be careful with the timing on certain ones. it wasn't overly difficult to get around, it's just the fans that were a pain. the second dungeon was also the second to last area you go thru in the whole game and the setup was so ridiculous??????? like, it had a ton of long hallways and dead ends which is kinda to be expected but when you see a pic of the whole map for each section it's like "who the hell designed this?!" it's not even difficult to get thru, it's actually SUPER easy even with the time stopping doors gimmick which you can just......ignore entirely and the only consequence is losing out on some treasure. the layout is just weird and chaotic and seems like it might've been rushed cus it's also pretty empty, tbh both dungeons are
for the game's story..........oh god. it's pretty clear it was really rushed cus it was super underbaked. i didn't hate it, i actually liked the beginning a lot! but it falls off really bad after the second lahmu fight imo and the pacing just ends up all messed up. like the second lahmu fight feels like you're still early in the story but it's more like closer to midgame. and after finishing each major area, you end up going back to tokyo and having a meeting with your friends and director koshimizu at the research center, so all of those cutscenes look more or less the exact same since it's always in the same room and even the placement of the characters is almost the same. i've seen some people complain ab the lack of world building and while i don't think it has as much as iv/a did, a lot of the world building just ends up coming from talking to npcs and doing side quests instead of the main story. idk if that's good writing/design really but it's how the game ended up. there's also a few parts where they seem to be building up to something really big, but then the thing they were building up to ends up being mostly underwhelming. like the part where you meet yuzuru in da'at in front of the broken train, it feels like something is ab to happen, like a demon is gonna ambush them or they're gonna run into another friend like dazai, but then the convo ends and nothing happens. but it feels like something should've happened! and the pandemonic summit should've happened a lot earlier imo, idk i just feel like the placement of it is off cus after the summit, you're in the last main area and the end of the game is basically right around the corner. as long as you can beat the shit out of odin, zeus, and vasuki, you can get to the end relatively quickly, but it feels like more should've happened between the summit and the end of the game
i really liked a lot of the side quests tho! i think the khonsu one was my favorite and i wish he and miyazu didn't get sidelined so badly 😔 but the gameplay was really what kept me coming back for ng+ so many times tbh
the characters are all severely underdeveloped too, the only character that gets much at all is dazai tbh. yuzuru is off doing his own thing for a huge majority of the story and his sister miyazu is completely useless, getting minimized to being the chronically ill girl who just hangs out in the fairy forest the entire time. she get sidelined so badly which was so sad to me cus i ended up loving her, esp after the khonsu quest. sahori could've been given a little more, i wish she had a bigger role or something. tao also could've been expanded on a lot more especially considering her role in the grand scheme of things. even aogami doesn't get much of a backstory but it seems like they meant to try and touch on that but couldn't cus of time constraints. dazai is the only one that gets much of an arc at all, and it's decently interesting. i get that they might've wanted to try to do what nocturne did where you almost immediately split off from your friends and only meet intermittently, so their development happens offscreen, but i don't think this game did that very well. it also doesn't help that the world of v is so much more whimsical compared to nocturne
and oh god the ending...... i thought the cutscene where you finally ascend to the throne was beautiful so i don't necessarily hate it, but the way they tied the ending in with everything else was so obviously rushed and not well done. if you've played any of the other mainline games (mostly nocturne and iv/a are my frame of reference since i haven't played i or ii and haven't finished strange journey redux yet) it's really different in a way that i didn't really like. after you beat the final boss, the cutscene where you'd see or at least get an idea of the kind of world you created is so.....disappointing a little bit???? i won't spoil the endings for the other games in case you haven't played them, but the gist of them is that you're with your respective alignment rep and they're talking to you. but in v it's just.....you're getting narrated at by some guy! the whole thing is kinda just an info dump of how the new world turned out instead of getting to infer from the conversation with the alignment rep you sided with! like, really?? it would've been nice to see how the alignment reps felt about the new world at least
i was treating this as kinda a spoiler but tbh if you've played any other mainline game you can kinda expect lucifer to be the final boss or an endgame boss, but they basically used him as a huge infodump at the end?????? if you do the secret neutral ending he starts talking sometimes mid-battle about stuff about the universe that was never mentioned earlier in the story???? like, he talks about how the universe is doomed to reincarnate (which i know is par for the course in smt but still....) and that you have to kill him to break the cycle, but nobody else really mentioned that during the story. and i guess you could suspend your disbelief and say only he knows about it since he consumed the knowledge of the creator so of course none of the other characters would know, but that whole thing just felt really random, like the devs suddenly remembered that smt is supposed to have themes of reincarnation so they threw that in at the end. i don't think he mentions any of this in the other endings, and you don't even fight him in the normal neutral ending! and then after you kill him and see the cutscene about the new world, you find out in the post credits cutscene that none of that shit even worked!! so what the hell was all that for!?!!?!? i get that smt always has huge nihilist themes so the whole "you just did all of that for absolutely nothing cus we're doomed to reincarnate forever" thing isn't out of left field, but man seeing that post credits cutscene REALLY made it feel like i just did all that for absolutely fuckin' NOTHING. i'm kinda conflicted about it honestly, cus it was an interesting twist! i was surprised by it and the way they revealed it was really cool! but it also felt like it just diminished all of the world building lucifer just dumped onto us literally 10mins prior
the requirements for the secret neutral ending also felt really weird cus you're supposed to help all of these demons and it's basically showing you that even the demons aren't completely evil, but then the ending for that route is just "nah fuck all of them, this world is only for humans" and i just don't think it was a very good writing choice. the requirements make you feel like maybe there IS a solution for all of this conflict and maybe there is some kind of way to coexist with demons in a positive way, but then you see the ending and it's like oh......nvm then. maybe it turned out that way cus of time contraints, i don't know. i pretty strongly believe the secret neutral ending was meant to be a route centering around miyazu and khonsu considering the requirements to get it, but then the time constraints made atlus have to dump khonsu and miyazu off into a side quest and shift things around
overall, i'd say it was a good game! the gameplay is a lot more compelling than the story, but the problems with the story really only become glaringly obvious if you play it 4 times over like i did lmao. i've seen some people ask if they should play the game or wait for vengeance, or say that they got the game to play while waiting for vengeance to release and tbh.......i don't think it's all that worth it, if i didn't have the game already i'd just be waiting for vengeance since the story of the original game is still gonna be available, it'll just be a different path entirely. plus vengeance is supposed to have a lot of improvements both storywise and gameplay wise, so i feel like it's better to just wait. i'm really looking forward to it tho, i've been loosely following the trailers/news and it looks like miyazu will have more of a role and they've added a lot of cool gameplay mechanics 🥰
i wasn't expecting this to be so long, but i feel like there's a lot to say about the game even if it seems like there isn't. i just really liked the game despite all its problems and it's in really close second as my favorite after iv, so the release of vengeance makes me wonder if it'll top iv as my favorite. thanks for giving me a chance to word vomit ab it lol

jus' found out mashrou' leila & mika literally had a concert together. hwat.
I LOVEEE mashrou' leila :[ they r also lebanese & queer like mika & have songs dedicated 2 the topic
one dats always stayed w me is
it's translated as 'ghost', after a gay nightclub in beirut dat was shut down (4 da obvious reasons)... the lyrics always make me sooo emotionla. idk they hit right in da heart. i think the queer experience in the middle east hits home here too. well also they're jus' very beautiful ↓
Showered with this city's bullets, I chorused with ghosts / Bathed by traffic lights, I danced our dabkeh / Till i was high on the the marrow of the electric pole, / And i poured tears - neon - on swollen pupils / Till the fezzes came to take us, to prisons, to castrate us, to make medallions / But we sewed flags from funeral shrouds (from friends on death row).
The mushrooms have started to grow / Tomorrow we inherit the earth / The mushrooms have started to grow / Tomorrow we inherit the earth
My life spent; with rights mortgaged off to your sentiments / My history erased from our books like they were yours to claim / Our hips translated Sappho and Abu Nuwas in the tongue of oohs and aahs / On bed sheets embroidered with the same oohs and aahs we chanted at the picket line.
The mushrooms have started to grow / Tomorrow we inherit the earth / The mushrooms have started to grow / Tomorrow we inherit the earth
For now we still have songs; Sing with your highest heels on

compiling some mythos tidbits from various sources for something and it's interesting how yandi/shennong just does not seem to catch a break
- descendant is an evil god of war that eventually beats him down (chiyou)
-huangdi also beats him up to take his territory and assimilates his people
- daughter drowns and gets turned to a bird that is bound to put pebbles in the ocean (jingwei)
- most loyal general gets beheaded by huangdi, forced to use nipples and navel as eyes and mouth because his half brother was a dick and buried his head in a mountain (xing tian)
-huangdi also beats him up to take his territory and assimilates his people

MK's Destiny and Nüwa's Goal
A little while ago, I made a post where i discussed if MK might be made from Nüwa's magical stones from real chinese mytholgy.
You can find the original post here, but to sum it up real quick:
A great war broke out between two powerful deities. Though, in the midst of their chaos, they broke one of the pillars that supported heaven, which then caused holes to form in the sky.
Luckily Nüwa saved humanity by using five coloured stones (red, yellow, blue, black, and white) to mend the azure sky.
The reason i traced this back to MK is because his main colour scheme IS red, yellow, blue, black, and white
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And in Season 4, holes started to form in the sky, which MK then helped to mend together again.
Tumblr media
But after i posted this theory, another quieston started to form in my mind:
Is there even more to theese stones than we thought?
The answer is YES
And thats not even all, because with the help of theese stones, or "The Five Phases" as they are originally as symbolism of, i have found an answer to A LOT of our quiestons about MK, Nuwa and the future of the show.
For Example:
What this Symbol is, and why it looks so much like MK's
Tumblr media Tumblr media
How this scene uses actual chinese diagrams, to explains MK's destiny:
Tumblr media
And how we can figure out Nüwas goal based on another Chinese Myth where she brought "destined chaos".
Tumblr media
The Theory can be found here, and its around the same length as 2 Lego Monkie Kid ep.
youtube
thanks to @dr4gong4l and @lu-zijing for the help btw!

Soooo, some crazy theory, or just a thought...
In this scene we see Nuwa make some animals - what if she was making the animals that will guard the stones?
Tumblr media
Sure, she could've made the first four looong time ago, and if Wukong actually IS the fifth stone (the one that got dropped on FFM, gained energy from the earth and sky and formed into a stone monkey - all by accident)- then he doesn't need protection, he's strong by himself, right?
Then, she could've learned something about treason in the underworld and some conflict brewing...
Then, maybe she decided that a guardian for the fifth stone was finally necessary...and after many attempts and different versions of animals - she made MK
Why did I even think of this? Well, ever since MK's "apeshit" mode got unlocked - what sets it off the most?
Wukong being in danger.
Like here - EVERYONE got beat up and MK was fine, just few glitches here and there. But once Azure refused to let Wukong go?
BOOOM
Tumblr media
Or during the finale fight - MK was so scared of being "apeshit", and EVERYONE was involved in this fight and was in danger - but once Azure almost hits Wukong?
BOOOOM
Tumblr media
And sure, there were times when it activated without Wukong even being present - MK's first fight with ink curse, or the fight near JE's palace, even while just playing Macaque's game - but it never made him go for attack.
So maaaaybe there's something more than just him caring about his mentor, I'm sure Wukong is important to MK, but surely not THAT much more than anyone else
(P.S.: dunno, maybe you'll find it interesting @cherllyio )

I know this theory has been talked about a lot, but I would like to put my own thoughts and opinions about Ne Zha’s age. Of course, Ne Zha died at the age of 12, yet in the series; considered to be a somewhat spin-off/sequel to the Journey to the West novel, he appears to be physically an adult.
Understandably, some people wanted to defend the idea of Ne Zha physically and mentally grown since Journey to the West by using other country’s beliefs of Ne Zha depicted as an adult, however, other countries still depict Ne Zha as a child, and the crew for LEGO Monkie Kid revealed he was canonically a child during Season 4, Episode 5 “The Court of the Yellow-Robed Demon”. This leaves to the question of how he managed to appear older.
I have been pondering on the idea for quite some time, and while going through several posts of people’s headcanons, references from other media depicting the other characters from Journey to the West, I have come to a conclusion.
To support this theory, I will be using Macaque as an example to answer the mystery behind Ne Zha’s sudden ageing in LEGO Monkie Kid. It has become abundantly clear Macaque has a missing eye, and in the Season 3, Episode 8, “Benched”, while trying to retrieve the third Samadhi Ring from Tang, for a split second, the tip of his tail becomes slightly white.
Tumblr media
While going through fanart, people often depict Macaque, having glamorised his looks in order to hide his features (i.e., his scarred eye). Saying that, I believe Ne Zha has adapted to glamorise his child form into an adult form, possibly from wanting to fit his mental age physically and feel comfortable. Macaque so far, hasn’t shown his true form for a prologue time, I believe Nezha can hold his adult form without any difficulty.

Season 5 of LEGO Monkie Kid is bound to show Nuwa, or MK’s supposed mother, on the show. Most people are wanting Nuwa to be a loving and caring mother, however, I do not believe that will be the case considering the direction the show is taking on MK’s backstory.
In the Season 4 special “Emperor’s Wrath”, the Kings of Hell in the Underworld are shown to be devising a plan for the upcoming events for Season 5, and personally, I believe Nuwa will be some sort of secondary villain associated with the main plot in Season 5.
I am predicting that Nuwa has some strong connections, or at the very least, is acquainted with the Kings of Hell. Perhaps in the past, the Kings of Hell held a grudge against Sun Wukong after erasing his name from the Book of the Dead.
They weren’t able to change the pages since the paper magically link to the people whose names are written, and possibly, recreating a new set of paper will negatively affect the other people’s mortality; which the Kings of Hell are not willing to risk.
Leading to the Kings of Hell requesting the aid of the creator of humans, Nuwa, since the residents of the Celestial Realm are not going to approve such a dire plan without the approval of the Jade Emperor.
Maybe the Kings of Hell gained Nuwa’s interest throughout a promise with a type of reward at the end of deal, and making her create a lifeform with equal or stronger power than Sun Wukong.
From the flashback in Season 4 Episode 6, “Show Me The Monster'', there were several stone statues of various animals before the creation of MK (hinting there were several attempts to create the perfect lifeform).
Tumblr media
The idea of creating MK as a mystic monkey probably links to the Journey to the West novel, in the chapter where Macaque shapeshifted into the Monkey King and deceives the other pilgrims; and before the reveal of the Six-Eared Macaque, it was stated that the imposter was close to Sun Wukong’s power level, which, I’m assuming, Nuwa took note.
Since Season 4 has hinted that Sun Wukong had some sort of connection with MK before he was created, I am predicting that he possibly knew Nuwa as a friend before she became an acquaintance with the Kings of Hell. Nuwa used that relationship as an advantage to analyse his skills and powers, while discussing using Sun Wukong as a pawn to help MK to be trained by the Monkey King, in order for MK to unlock his powers later in life.
Reasoning why I believe Sun Wukong isn’t aware of Nuwa is supported in the Season 4 special, “Emperor’s Wrath”, when Azure Lion was defeated, Sun Wukong questioned him who set him free from the Scroll of Memory, and Azure Lion had no recollection.
Supporting this theory, judging the age of MK when he first met Pigsy in Season 4, Episode 6, “Show Me The Monster”, he seemed to be around the age of 5 years old, which when he should some remembered of Nuwa or Sun Wukong to some degree, but it’s possibly she must have erased MK’s memories. This might be an ability that she might use in Season 5.
Nuwa must have deceived Sun Wukong somehow to convince him to protect MK when he proves himself to have potential to become Sun Wukong’s successor, not only to allow MK’s abilities to develop and become stronger, but she might also use MK to spy on the Monkey King from afar.
To support this theory, I will use the 5th Anniversary LEGO set of Monkie Kid, as Nuwa is seen to be in disguise while running a jade shop in Megapolis. Perhaps she purposely dropped MK off at Pisgy’s Noodles and lived around the city to observe MK and waited until he was ready to wield the staff. Sun Wukong must have done the same, but without the knowledge of Nuwa’s plan with the Kings of Hell (To learn Sun Wukong’s weaknesses for the sake of devising a plan).
In the pilot episode of LEGO Monkie Kid, “A Hero is Born”, MK needed to deliver some noodles to a customer, but ended up dealing with the Demon Bull Family. Perhaps Nuwa also purposely made MK make the trip so that he can find Monkey King’s staff and allow MK to meet Sun Wukong and start training because Nuwa might have a deadline to finish her end of the deal, before the Kings of Hell will take action in Season 5.

Connecting to the last theory, I believe there will be a likely chance that Season 5 will introduce the other mystic monkeys from the Journey to the West novel. Judging from the direction of the LEGO Monkie Kid series, there will be new characters introduced other than Nuwa, considering that Season 5 will focus more on MK’s past, and him learning how to control his monkey powers.
For those who aren’t aware, in the Journey to the West novel, it is canon that there are a total of four mystic monkeys, which includes Sun Wukong (Spirit Intelligent Stone Monkey) and Macaque (Six-Eared Macaque Monkey).
The other two are known as the Red Butt Horse Monkey and the Pass through Arm Ape Monkey (using the translated names from the Chinese characters).
Since the series does slightly alternate the Journey to the West lore, perhaps the Red Butt Horse Monkey and Pass through Arm Ape Monkey were created before Sun Wukong and Macaque, and the idea of MK being a new mystic monkey existing in the LEGO Monkie Kid show does bring their attention and they will contribute to the main conflict of Season 5 (Perhaps they know much more about the upcoming conflict with the Kings of Hell and MK’s monkey power awakening).
This prediction might be a bit of a stretch, but since MK’s monkey powers will most likely be one of the main focuses for the plot of Season 5, I believe these two monkeys are willing to become an influence; both negatively and positively.
Reasoning for this prediction is connected to the fact that the Red Butt Horse Monkey is known to have the ability to avoid death and lengthen its life, which I believe might lead the show to make an alliance with Nuwa and the Kings of Hell.
Meanwhile, the Pass through Arm Ape Monkey might be helping MK through his glitching when it comes to his monkey form, and might have more knowledge about dealing with  MK’s problem than Monkey King.
To support this theory, in Season 4, Episode 7, “Pitiful Creatures”, when Wukong first sees MK’s glitching, he looks like he doesn’t look like he know how to deal this side-effect of unlocking the monkey powers, considering that Sun Wukong and Macaque were already created as monkeys and were able control their powers.
The Pass through Arm Ape Monkey might have known of MK’s existence through the battle against Azure Lion in the Season 4 special, “Emperor’s Wrath”, as the sky and the whole world was breaking apart, and since the Pass through Arm Ape Monkey can manipulate the moon and stars.
It could be the reason why the Red Butt Horse Monkey told Nuwa and the Kings of Hell about MK’s powers.
Tumblr media
I don’t have anything else to say about this theory/prediction. However, if the series doesn’t show them, there HAS to be some influence, Easter eggs, etc. connecting to these mystic monkeys.

Aside from Sun Wukong and Macaque having their pasts explored, the series does have the Demon Bull King appearance in these flashbacks since he was once a member of the Brotherhood, first revealed in Season 4, Episode 2, “New Adventures”, as everyone is discussing who will be the next Jade Emperor after overthrowing the current one.
From this single flashback alone, DBK was shown to be a good guy, fighting alongside his sworn brothers for they thought was right, and it does beg the question: What made him change his morality from good to bad?
In the pilot, Season 1, “A Hero is Born”, he is first introduced as the main antagonist whose goal is to conquer the world, and suddenly Sun Wukong traps him under a mountain despite DBK being his sworn brother. This minor detail is very unusual considering that in Season 3, Episode 10 “The Samadhi Fire”, showcases Sun Wukong, Demon Bull King and Ne Zha helping to separate the Samadhi Fire from Redson as a child.
Judging from this scene, the event must have taken place post to the Journey to the West, as the Monkey King isn’t wearing the circlet, as most of the flashbacks which are taking place in the Journey to the West shows him wearing the circlet given from Tang Sanzang. The pilot does show Sun Wukong wearing the same suit of armour as in Season 3, Episode 10 “The Samadhi Fire”, and it's strange how the Monkey King went from helping the Demon Bull King to fighting him.
Tumblr media
Either something happened between the events of removing of the Samadhi Fire and the events occurred in the pilot, or off-screen there was some conflict between the two, but set a temporary truce to help Redson with the Samadhi Fire.
The most assumed event that could pinpoint the morality change of the Demon Bull King would be when he and Princess Iron Fan met during the battle against Heaven. However, I highly doubt that. Since this event took place before the birth of Redson, and if Demon Bull King and Sun Wukong didn’t have conflict during this time period, then this accusation would be inaccurate.
This wasn’t a theory or a prediction, however, I REALLY do feel like talking about this since it’s been bugging me for quite some time. I hope that Season 5 will be able to resolve this plot hole and perhaps it might correlate with the main plot of the next.
While I do hope, I also doubt it since the Demon Bull Family has not had much screen time in recent seasons. But simultaneously, I bet there will be a chance since the new 5th Anniversary LEGO set does display Redson working at the BBQ restaurant in Megapolis, so maybe a slim chance.
I was going to talk about Peng and Erlang working together in Season 5, considering the current conflict with the Monkie Gang and Peng, and due to the fact that Erlang is a cousin? Brother? Or a family member of the Jade Emperor according to the Journey to the West novel, and wanted to avenge his death.
(Probably ignore this one, this was a last minute theory)
But I didn’t know what else to talk about and it does seem like the two will be working on their own.
Anyways, I hope you all enjoy the theories that I have come up with. I haven’t gotten the chance to re-watch all of the episodes of LEGO Monkie Kid, so I mostly relied on my memory. Leave some comments about your thoughts and theories of the series or what will happen in Season 5.

Thoughts on the trailer + some information regarding it also opinions
Tumblr media
Got a haircut, AND I WILL ALWAYS WEAR SHORTS! NOW ONTO the news and my opinion on this whole jazz
Spoiler warning: seasons 5 trailer kind?
Please read this is from someone who worked on the show. This is from Sarah Harper.
Tumblr media
So the trailer drop out and they were mixed reaction on it. I also had a mixed reaction but either way I was happy that Monkie Kid was not dropped and is still going. So I'll settle myself with information that I have first before my opinions.
Ahem, recently the new trailer had dropped out on the new season on Lego Monkie Kid. The reaction were...negative after all the people in charge of the other season animation were Flying Bark Studios. Flying Bark studio is known for their flood and chaotic spunky animation that really hypes up people and makes them go wild, they worked on shows like Rise of the mutant ninja turtles and moon girl, as well as our favorite show Lego Monkie Kid. As some of you don't know lately Flying Bark Studios has partner up with Avatar Studios making them have more projects on their hands.
The same writers and Va are still there, they have not been replaced they are still working on Lego Monkie Kid.
Next thing to note, Yes it is true. Wild Brain are working on Lego Monkie Kid BUT! we should not go and harassed the animators on any of the staff working on Lego Monkie Kid, I know it's a new change and I know some aren't ready but with how Flying Barks animation is handle. Please continue on supporting the production I understand some of the reactions you guys have but you also must be patient. The new season has been confirmed to come this summer everything else...well it depends on you guys.
I've seen the trailer and there is a character that has not shown up in the trailer one character that is very important in the show. Nuwa, either she is a secret character that will show up in the season or will be a cliffhanger character for a new upcoming season, this has not been confirmed and is only speculations of mine.
I have a lot of criticism against some fans who are mad at Macaque scenes wanting him to be like season 1 ever even though it's a trailer not the goddamn season. Why are you all mad over his character WHEN WE HAVEN'T SEEN EVEN THE WHOLE SEASON?!? I don't understand you people. I have more to say but I want to know something.
Would you guys rather have something? Or nothing?
This is just a trailer, there's nothing on how the actual show will be and even if it is like that we can safely and calmly criticize it. Do show supports towards those who are working on it, and I'm not saying you guys can't criticize it, go ahead do it but please stay calm about it and be nice in the comment section.
Do know it's very difficult trying to emulate the style of animation Flying Barks has.
I salute Wild Brain for trying their best on animation and style of the show.

gela do you like character design? Cause you're constantly popping off over here. I feel like only someone who likes character design can cook like you do
(and maybe you could teach your ways? A little bit? I would love to learn o7)
HAHAHAHA—no. I like watching it and studying it! I love analyzing character design but drawing it? I’m being held at gunpoint
When it comes to OCs I have to design them otherwise it’s hard to get the point across as to who I’m talking about, how their design translates via text, etc. when it comes to, say, Erlang and Sun Wukong it means a lot of character analysis and figuring out whether or not their outfits work… and then realizing the limits of my skills (I hate armor but armor is VERY MUCH in character for these two designs)
I tend to do SOME form of research into my character designs — this ranges from looking at the original sources (FSYY, JTTW) and then modern depictions of them (Nezha Reborn/New Gods, Dyslite (?), Lego Monkie Kid, etc) and studying how their designs work.
I love New Gods rendition of Erlang but that reads more to me like a.. teenager? Young adult? Version of Erlang rather than the aged post-fsyy soldier we see often depicted in JTTW content
I also have a lot of story telling done with color for their outfits:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You can see hints of green for Wukong (Nuwa) and how there’s bits of red in his hanfu — but it’s not overpowering. You can still see gold and even in his makeup there’s teal. You can tell this is SWK in an outfit that was coordinated to suit him for a specific area/god/etc.
But then with Erlang we see him engulfed in red. The same type of red that resembles wine or drying blood because this is an outfit that (ahem) Su Daji picks out for him. The only bit of gold is the belt/sash holding it all together. This, along with the jade skin and dark blue hair, makes it seem like he’s not human. That’s the point! He’s a demigod and he’s often depicted with unnatural skin color (at least in animated versions):
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And then of course there’s accessories! We have Sun Wukong’s iconic cudgel and honestly LMK’s design of it is already very well done that I don’t feel the need to adjust it for my au.. so instead I designed him a mask:
Tumblr media
This allows for some of his personality to shine through more! And it is far more intimidating than canon!lmk!swk!!
To put it simply: I don’t like character designing because it is VERY hard for me to translate my thoughts onto a canvas but I enjoy the finished results (most of the time) too much to not try and do it. That and when it comes to my favorite characters I will ALWAYS have fun designing outfits for them 🧡
