Bruce Wayne has been noticing a consistent odditiy in some of his employees. Things from being hyper vigilant, not acting even remotely surprised or scared in the middle of active gunfire, carrying very strange self defense weapons all by the same manufacturer, using slang terms that are completely foreign to any database he can find, and most of all: their eyes. He did blood tests on all of them. Every single one of them were human. So how can they make their eyes flash a toxic green? It seems to be a greeting of some kind. Both flashing their eyes green and smiling as they continue on with their day.

The only connection Bruce has with these employees is that they all had lived in the same town some time or another: amity park.

i have no idea how old this ask is because i am someone who is So shit at answering asks. that and i literally swear to god i did reply to this. BUT ANYWAY .

the year that yhs takes place in i really weird because they have gamecubes and the bee movie and shrek in theatres. but also iphones. but generally speaking i kinda place it in an late 2000's-early 2010s for VIBES.

they collect robot pets . they probably have all sorts of furbies and those furreal pets . and tomagatchi. Taurtis has accidentally killed..so.. so many Tomagatchi's. Grian gaslights him into thinking he hasn't. "What? No, this has always been the Tomagatchi we've had on this keychain. Maybe you're thinking of a different one?" etc so he doesnt feel bad

they, for obvious reasons, do NOT do halloween anymore. they turn off all the lights in the house, maybe put up a little pillowfort with flashlights and play on their phones talking to each other until all the festivities are over. the next day they buy discounted candy.

whenever they see something blue and red together, they either take a picture and send it to the other one saying "us", or just grab their arm and point to it.

they probably saw some of the girls ad school make kandi bracelets. and they learned how to do it. they probably dont wear them out too oftne, but they like to watch a show and make them together. they probably mostly make animal ones, like the lizards for each other. they hang them up around their room

date nights consist of going to the local drug store and diving into the discount bin of movies, and watching whatever they pull out

in evo they always just kinda..awkwardly ignore the taurtis shrine. sometimes they laugh at the sheer odditiy of it, though

they're very much rival dating. like they'll see each other and start a fight over something silly, and gradually forget about it and go on to have a normal and fun conversation. they'll walk around and chitchat and sight-see, and then they'll leave and the next time they see each other they do more of their "fighting".

they'll meet up in the middle of the night and sneak off to prank something, with Grian as the brains behind the operation. Taurtis is probably a distraction/on watch out.

another apho odditiy - they said they have years of content left to make, so bringing present honkai to apho scenario is just weird. if they're gonna beat honkai and lose kiana what then for the irl story instead of just a boring 8 year time skip

 Deck of " Industrie und Gluck"  or " Rural Scenes"  tarot cards manufactured by Ferd. Piatnick & Sohne, Vienna. Circa 1910. The Trumps feature rural scenes and costumes from different regions showing a different scene at each end. Trump II (second row) shows a crowned eagle with a sword and sceptre clasped in one claw, perched on a rock bearing the legend "Industrie und Glück". The Ace of Hearts shows t Austrian tax stamp, or 'kartenstempel', showing a two-headed eagle, which was used at that time.

this breaks my brain with how dumb it is. The episode was about how Gus is really talented and smart but because of his age older kids are able to take advantage of him. It even referenced other instances where Gus was too trusting of malicious entities as apart of his CHARACTER. The show is depicting his trusting nature in conflict with his illusionist talents ON PURPOSE. hes not being weak to make hunter shine, if they wanted that they would have had hunter tag along with willow and amity and outdo them. the fact that hunter is a highly paranoid untrusting person was why he was able to notice willow was fake, not because he was smarter than gus. thats why they were paired up!

I think lily just wants every character she likes for arbitrary reasons to be the best at everything, and when they arent, its while/cis/straight favoritism. just like her opinions of the sith, sylvannas, and lilith her critique begins and ends with 'this doesnt match my fanfiction'

It's also framed as Gus was just so happy and relieved to SEE Willow, that he didn't really think twice about her oddities. (Remeber, he's only twelve.)

And Hunter started off blushing around her (not only indicating a crush, but also that he was initially fooled as well.)

But Hunter found something suspicious about her, when she said that they should find the illusions before the go anymore "*insert random squeal here that doesn't sound like Willow*"

And Hunters first instinct at being suspicious is to threaten Willow.

Not to mention the fact that the minute Hunter pointed out the odditiy in her behavior (namely her being "scared"), Gus see's through the ruse.

But everything that plays out makes sense, because again, Gus is trusting and loves Willow to bits. So even if she isn't acting all that right, Gus wants to believe in her.

But I guess flaws should just go out the window when it comes to any characters interacting with Hunter, because otherwise it's just "racism".

Her takes on the owl house have really become just so Hunter Centric, that she let's it take over her perspective of the show.

While I always found it interesting have far more complicated genetics are I admit it is unlikely I'll completely understand it. Though it is intriguing how sometimes how they express (I apologize for my simplicity in describing this) certain traits that otherwise appear absent in relatives, such as red hair.

It also leads to irritation when people claim baseless claims or treat people as an oddity (or just complain in the case of media) b/c they don't understand as you pointed out how complex it really is.

Sorry to ramble on here.

Dont worry, i get ya. Not even us who study genetics understand DNA/RNA completly. That’s why we always work with stadistics, with possibilities. Uncertainity. And yes, it’s rather fun trying to guess what can happen and how can some traits will/would express in the future, or even trying to understand how it worked in the past.

And yes, it irritates me greatly, specially when some people go “these two people dont look related because i did my punnet square”, or as you said, claim odditiy in certain treats (like “this person cant have blue eyes because their parents have brown eyes”) because they dont get how genes work.

Genetics are fun but also can be very cryptic and chaotic

Mermaids and Ghosts

(placeholder title) A WIP Intro????? This is a vauge concept but it’s something I’ve been rambling about recently so here’s a brief summary of This Post where it originated

aesthetic and vibes are a stubborn combination of cryptidcore + lighthouses on a stormy sea + eldrich horror + dark comedy found family. Vaugely modern setting.

Seafolk are mostly indifferent to and avoid humans because they can’t be bothered with surface conflict and it’s easy to hide in the BIG and DARK ocean. Mermaid protagonist is an odditiy because she can see/communicate with human ghosts. (Not sure why yet, maybe cursed or magic?) She goes around giving drowned sailors release so they can move onto the afterlife and stop screaming all the time.

The human protagonist is a too-curious-for-their-own-good teenager who was exploring this abandoned lighthouse during a storm looking for... they’re not really sure what. Somehow they ended up mostly dead in the ocean, and somehow when they come to on the beach with a massive lump on the back of their head, they can see a mermaid arguing with the ghost that haunts the lighthouse. Oops. 

Despite a language barrier and logistical issues of land vs sea, the kid and mermaid become friends and start exploring together. With the help of the lighthouse ghost, they set up the abandoned waypost as a new rest point for lost souls to stay until the friends can find a way to help them move on and repair the light. Sometimes they have to defend themselves or their charges against malicious ghosts or nature spirts or other eldrich monsters and it’s kind of goofy monster of the week shenanigans and morbid humor once you get past the fact that most of the characters are dead or actively trying to make our protagonists dead.

As you can see, none of the characters are named and I don’t have much in the way of a plot, but it’s a fun little wip to have on the back burner and I thought this would be a nicer less confusing intro post than the other one! I won’t be actively working on this, but if you want to be on a taglist for whatever random updates or snippets I do come up with, you can ask for that too I guess? Hope you enjoyed reading!
