I gotta wonder, for how many massive crossovers (Smash, Marvel vs. Capcom, Multiversus) there are to help get fans of one franchise to get interested into another one, how many fans were driven away further from an unfamiliar franchise.

Say what you want about Fire Emblem having too many swordfighters even though there's plenty of classes to pick from in that franchise, but how many players out there who haven't played Pikmin never will because Olimar's awful design screams "unemotive tyrant of plant aliens" and not "working class science hero and alien race helping each other survive the wild"?

On my Vol 10 reread, this panel stood out to me:

There's nothing inherently weird about it to make it stand out. Other than it comes VERY shortly after Vash realizes Wolfwood is dying.

THIS is something I see get glossed over in favor of fanon characterizations of Vash that are all "love and peace 100% of the time".

Vash is ANGRY.

He's fucking furious. And it's only his willpower, and Wolfwood's love for his brother, that stop him from going ape shit.

There is so much seething rage underneath Vash that he hides behind the mask of pacifism. We see it mostly in the TriMax depiction, and only briefly in 98 or Stampede. But Vash is all about controlling himself. He can't control his body. He can't control his situation. But he can control his anger.

We see him angry a few times throughout the manga but this is where I seriously questioned whether he would break his vow and kill someone on my first read-through.

Would he kill for Nicholas D. Wolfwood? An assassin who converted to Vash's ideals AND IS NOW DYING FOR THEM because Wolfwood is trying to save Livio, not kill him. A man who he clearly loved. Wolfwood MATTERED to Vash more than almost anyone else in his life.

And Vash's ideals helped kill him.

Is the anger towards just Razlo? Or to himself as well?

Hornet headcanon!

'Hornet' is not Hornet's true name.

I'm still torn between different reasonings for her having the name either

A- It was given to her as an honorary title, by Queen Vespa, during her training within the hive (or bestowed upon her after having finished her training as a symbol of her accomplishments.)

Or B- She gave the name to herself, after the fall of the kingdom, as a way to separate her current self from her past while still honoring some part of her past. (The part that is easiest for her to look back on.)

As for her birth name my sisters and I have decided on Arachnè. (The name is from a Greek myth, where the protagonist Arachnè challenges Athena to a weaving contest, wins, and is afterwards transformed into a spider.)

I vaguely recall playing your game a few years ago and when I looked at your blog, I saw that it's undergoing a rewrite. Can I ask what's changed?

Compared to the old version, the only thing that's remained (roughly) the same is the prologue--the scene in which the main character ruminates about the past, pre-mindwipe, before being turned into a helvling by the Warden. Chapter one is entirely new, as is chapter two (which I'm currently writing), though they do both contain a few fan favourite throwbacks to the old demo.

The rough, overarching plot has not been changed. However, I did alter some of the characters' backstories to either streamline the story a bit more, or to merge them with some of the characters that were ultimately cut. I don't think it'll be that noticeable though, since most people never knew their (full) backstories in the first place. 😌

i really don't think you should be promoting organisations from other countries on social media unless you have direct ties to them. like people unfamiliar with the context will just end up sharing stuff that's pretty contentious with the local left and they just have no idea. for some stuff e.g. the swp in britain, yes some quick online searching will bring you up to speed, but for some other stuff the issues w various orgs mostly just spread by word of mouth. and while im happy to say that eg a certain org is known for being transphobic, some of the issues we have with orgs can't just be shared on our public social media on a website that doesn't respect privacy like tumblr, bc to explain them means to reveal (& therefore reveal to the state if we're posting on tumblr) our involvement/past involvement with them as political organisers.
