2. Album of the year?

It's not an album from this year, not even close, but Departure Songs by We Lost The Sea. It's one of my favourite albums of all time and one that I come back to very often. It helps ground me when I get too anxious and was a much needed source of comfort for a pretty rough year

3. Favourite musical artist/group you started listening to this year?

I mostly stuck to old favourites for this year so I don't really have a good answer for this one :((( (send me songs you think I'll like!!)

6. Episode of TV or webisode that defined the year for you?

Oof... it's gotta be Moonlight Chicken ep 7. Death, grief, community, support, love, carrying on.

7. Favourite actor of the year?

It's been a year of comfort rewatches for me so once again I'm going with an old favourite that I still stand by - Tatiana Maslany, my queen. In my eyes nobody will ever be able to beat her. If you haven't watched Orphan Black, add it to your list and WATCH IT, even if it's just for her - 90% of the show really is just her so it all works out

15. What's a bad habit you picked up this year?

You and @dribs-and-drabbles have yelled at me about it enough this year (with very good reason, ily you both, thank you for looking out for me 💖) to know that it's my complete disregard for sleep as a concept. I'm hoping to change that this year.

18. A memorable meal this year?

Two highlights!

The first is this espresso panna cotta, shared with my best friend in our favourite restaurant in the town we went to college in as our final meal before she left the country to pursue a PhD. So proud of her, miss her so so much 💖

The second I don't have a picture of, but I learnt how to make tom yum soup (thank you thai qls for the cravings!). Paired with some egg noodles, my ultimate comfort food for this year.

21. What's something new about your place of residence (room, home, or general location) now vs the start of the year?

There has been a tray with about 8 different balls of yarn that has been a permanent fixture in a corner of my room for the past 2 years now - my temperature blanket from 2021. For some reason, it just seemed never ending and I had almost given up hope on it ever being a completed project. But I finally finished it about a month ago and have moved on to different projects. Now it's a cozy blanket that I can cuddle under (and scream into) while I watch my fav shows

i. LOST (2004-2010)

this was my whole world for my entire hs existence and into my early college years. half of the shows listed here stems from my first love of the ensemble cast, their interwoven yet clandestine storylines, and the mystery box. at my first sdcc, half of the cast was present when they debuted p1 of the series finale (you’d think i was dead the whole time fksfsk;lv)

ii. Fringe (2008-2013)

yes, i faithfully followed jj abrams into another insane show. i think it actually altered my brain chemistry, rewired something in me, devoured a piece of me. once LOST was over and Fringe brought in the alternate universe, i dove in head first and never resurfaced

iii. Doctor Who (2005-Present)

i think it was technically winter 2010 when i started binging this show because s6 was my first time catching it live (was young and naïve, i caught it on bbca lol) ive been on hellsite for almost two years at the time and fully became a fandom blog, so it was inevitable i would love this series. i think it was the first show i made gifs/edits for???

oh look, my dna makeup shifts again. i actually started watching this show the week leading up to Darcy Day and can still vividly remember the migraines from binging 8-10min eps times 60ish worth of content. this show got me into writing my first fic, running an rp blog, creating instrumental playlists, making a DWxLBD blog, AND eventually flying my ass back to CA to meet the cast and beloved mutuals at VidCon

v. Orphan Black (2013-2017)

happy international women’s day to this show and this show only! i think of all the shows listed here, this is the first time since LOST i caught all the eps in real time from the very beginning. this was filling the hole Fringe was about to carve deep in me. but if you cut me open, you will find the beth-shaped hole that nothing/no one has been able to fill and likely will never fill til the end of time

the jessi special: The Collapse of Nature (04x01)

vi. Shadowhunters (2016-2019)

im willing to admit that the reason i got into this show was because of the wedding kiss haha i saw the clip, signed the adoption papers on the spot, and went on to write a 100K+ wip series. admittedly, i confess that this was a DNF and never finished the last season... i abandoned my boy.gif

the jessi special: Of Men and Angels (01x06)

vii. Sense8 (2015-2018)

a show about eight children than i gave birth to, that i raised on my own, that i will defend on my death bed and beyond??? that show sense8?? yes that show sense8. fun fact, when they did the screening of the finale in Chicago, the cast ended up sitting three rows behind me in the theater and i could hear them talking in between scenes the entire evening. wish i could bottle that feeling up

the jessi special: I Have No Room in My Heart for Hate (02x07)

viii. Bad Buddy (2021-2022)

and we finally made it to the current decade! its nov 2021, im fresh off leaving my previous job and still getting situated in my new position, yet this show was a siren calling to me in the dark mist of my life. i ended up saving the binge watching for the week of my bday and my whole life shifted again. it must have been so alarming on the outside, seeing me go from making 1-2 edits a month to 1-2 edits a day for almost THREE MONTHS. the fact that i still cont to avg two edits/week since then... oy lol

What are your thoughts on S2?

I was never going to like it cause I never got onboard with the boys. I know a lot of people were willing to give boys a chance especially when the cast and writers were always saying how boys’ stories add to the girls rather than taking away. I never got behind that. I didn’t understand how boys can elevate the girls storylines by being on an entirely different island. I knew they had 3 timelines and girls only 2, so obviously they were gonna have more screen time than the girls. Turns out, girls only had one timeline. The only girl with a bunker storyline was Leah so I was actually really surprised by how badly they sidelined the girls.

The boys were unnecessary and weren’t required. Their story could’ve been told rather than showed or they could’ve spent one whole episode on their journey. Kinda like Lost did, with the passengers in the tail section of the plane. They spent one episode showing everything that happened to them in the month they spent at the island.

The girls stuff was beautiful but quite filler at times. I don’t usually mind that because I like it when shows are more character heavy than story and s1 was a lot like that. But it didn’t work here because they had limited time to begin with and we didn’t spend much time with these characters anyway. The girls plot only picked up in episode 7 which is why it felt rushed. Their storyline only moved from s1 in ep 7 and 8 of this season and still much of that was shared with boys. They didn’t have the luxury of taking time with characters this season cause of the lack of time so it was important to change the storyline technique.

S3 doesn’t excite me much because now girls and boys are together and their storylines will intervene and that is a nightmare situation. I was hoping for orphan black situation where they got rid of the male clones in s4 after they flopped tremendously in s3 but it doesn’t look like it’s gonna happen here. These writers are committed to the boys and would probably try to flesh them out even more to make the audience like them. This show is never going to be female centric again and that’s a shame cause it’s one of the main reasons I recommended it to people.

All the negativity aside, girls were just brilliant. Their chemistry is even better than it was in s1. You could put any of the two girls together and their scenes would land. Shelby, fatin and Rachel were the standouts to me. Having said that I would have like if Fatin had more meatier scenes to work with. She didn’t have any confrontational or emotional moments, I don’t think she shed a single tear the whole season. I want her to be more than just a comedian, I want her to have own emotional storyline. I can’t tell you how happy I was when she was recruiting the Dua cause before that, there was nothing in her storylines that told us anything about her culture or religion. As a Pakistani Muslim myself, I struggled so much connecting with here cause I didn’t see a single part of me in her. With Martha, she drops facts about her culture here and there but Fatin never even uttered a desi word. She never referred to anything in her culture, not even clothes so I was very surprised when she started reciting the Dua. Top moment for me that.

Centaurworld Season 2 Review

I need to get my thoughts out to finally rest in peace. Spoiler-full review under the cut.

Ep. 1: Not too much to say on this one. We see actual horse centaurs (TMing the term is actually a pretty solid joke) course it would kill them to make an attractive centaur (but wouldn’t it be nice to have just ONE hot centaur? Wouldn’t it? I think so). And I counted three solid jokes (Zulius thirsting after a centaur, one of the THOUSAND of Glendale’s klepto jokes, and the weird black and white centaur kid who no doubt has bodies in his room). But the best part of the episode was seeing Ryder in the much prettier apocalyptic world with her hot ass general. The worst part was Durpleton massacring the you’re okay song with my new favorite character: Phillip Bonecrunch (aka, Stabby)

Ep. 2: If I said it once I’ll say it a thousand times. HOW THE FUCK ARE THE BIRDS CENTAURS?? They aren’t! They’re just STUPID BIRDS! And the only thing I liked about these stupid birds was there dislike of Wammawink like Cheers! I’ll drink to that, bro! Also the texting joke where they use the underdeveloped fetishes of bird eggs was SO fucked up. Also props to Zulius for being useful this episode, that makes things easier to stomach. Ep. 3: I agree with the Coldtaurs joining Nowhere King. Not because I believe in his cause I just want the centaurs to die. Also Comfortable Doug is not as good a character as the writers think he is. Also finally Glendale was useful, never thought I’d see the day. Also Rider had a very good reaction to Doug. Kick him into space Becky Apples.

Ep. 4: Yeah, sweaty, nippled moletaurs. That’s what I wanted to see. And Horse freaks out over Becky Apples and I’ll use this time to say NOTHING comes out of Becky Apples. I thought this bitch was gonna be working for Nowhere King or SOMETHING. Nope. She’s just there. Also way to go Wammawink making this about you again. Horse thinks her dearest and oldest friend has replaced her but you didn’t get to hook up with a dude you knew for two hours. Totally the same thing, I’m not even gonna say you were useful getting all the ugly holetaurs together I hate you Wammawink stop being clingy about making Horse ditch Rider for you.. Also Stabby gets turned into a little cartoon lizard but you know, props for him making Durpleton less annoying.

Ep. 5: Arguably one of the better episodes. Horse gets the powers to jump into someone and see their memories (this freezes the person while she’s in there-remember that) and we see more orphan of war Wammawink, teenaged Glendale, whatever. Ched’s was a bummer but didn’t stop his character from being annoying (also is he in love with Zulius? What the fuck? I can’t remember the last time they talked? Where did this come from?) And Durpleton was abadoned by his parents but it helped him and Ched not be so obnoxious so a necessary evil I think. I don’t know what Zulius’ backstory was but he was WAY too into Horse getting inside him and whhhyyyy did I say it like that?

Ep. 6: A Rider focused episode! Fuck yeah! She’s such a bad ass! Fuck yeah! One of the annoying birdtaurs got turned into a hideous monster that’s so messed up :D Fuck yeah! Nowhere king! Fuck yeah! Hot general! What a good time you can have when the centaurs aren’t holding everything back.

Ep. 7: Worst fucking episode. They put all the centaurs in one area and and it’s so got damn annoying I hated it. Wish I had a Team Nowhere King shirt. The most that happened was Zulius and that tiger dude are a couple now (sorry Ched? I guess?) and the Mysterious Woman is back (bitch where were you I missed you). It isn’t until the end where they are in Rider’s world and about to be overun by minotaurs and the Nowhere King that it gets interesting because Horse sacrafices herself to go inside Nowhere King’s mind and freeze him to save her friends. That’s a hardcore scene.

Ep. 8: Okay let me get this out of the way first. At the very beginning of the episode Horse is in the black void of Nowhere King’s mind and some DUMBASS in that studio thought “Hey, let’s do a joke where Horse farts for a good thirty seconds”. ...Yeah. BUT AFTER YOU SKIP THAT ITS LEGIT THE BEST EPISODE. Because it’s about the best character in the show: Nowhere King. WE find out he was once an elk centaur (AND HE WAS HOT FINALLY) who fell in love with the mysterious woman (who was a pretty princess). But instead of asking her if she could love him as a centaur he uses some fucked up magic to split himself. One half human and one half elk. The human half is the GENERAL and marries the woman. But the elk also loves her and wants him and the general to become one again and hopes she’ll love them as a centaur. We then get a fucked up scene of the general trying to drown the elk to only vomit water out of his mouth and eyes and stop because if one of them dies they both die. We are then witnesses to the elk using the amulet magic to make minotuars (trying to make his own ‘family’) and turning him into the beautiful eldtrich abomination we have now.  It’s a hardcore backstory.  And skipping over some details it’s the mysterious woman who slays him in the end, him having morphed back into a centaur to sing to her one last time. She sings a goodbye song to the tune of the Nowhere King. Hard. Core.

BUT the whole reason I made this list was for my criticism of this episode. The general wasn’t a character until season 2 and didn’t get a lot of screen time, nor did Nowhere King. If General had been introduced season 1 and the nowhere king had more screen time it would’ve been a bigger emotional hit when we find out they’re the same. Also there’s a scene where Horse tells Rider (she gets out of nowhere king) that they need to kill the general and Rider straight up doesn’t believe her and says she’s just a horse. Why the FUCK would Rider believe a dude she barely knows over her best friend? Makes no damn sense. But if Rider and the general got to bond I could understand it better.

Anyway even though Rider gets stabbed by general she surrives, and after the nowhere king dies everyone moves to Centaurworld. Which is suppose to be a happy ending but it’s CENTAURWORLD so...yeah.

My thoughts on The Letter For The King (netflix)

this will be structured in three parts: what i liked, what i disliked, what could be improved. Warning: CONTAINS SPOILERS

What I liked

Our main character, Tiuri, is the best protagonist. He has had a difficult background and has a little bit of an identity struggle, but through his journey he becomes more and more clear in how he defines himself. He is so sweet and kind and only wants to do the right thing.

That magic is established as a purely Eviellen thing (aka a part of the black culturof the show). It’s not alluded to, it’s merely a fact.

Diversity. I love Iona, our asian girl, Tiuri, our black boy, and Jussoldo, our resident gay couple. None of it felt forced nor was it villainsed. They simply were.

Queen Alianor being queen without any question. She inherited the throne from her father and it is hers. She was inquisitive and charming, and quite daring romantically.

The chase scene in that very clearly Lord of the Rings-type field. It was not only beautiful but thrilling.

Magic horse. Or, not really magic but a damn smart horse

Arman giving Tiuri his peptalk about how Tiuri is a good person and it doesn’t matter if he’s not the Chosen One, what matters is that he is a good person and actively does good deeds.

Jussipo and Foldo’s campfire talk and kiss, and the implication that they did not sleep at all but talked all throughout the night. Their faces with Piak woke up were hilarious.

Iona and Jaro’s relationship from “I fucking hate you” to “I still fucking hate you but fuck if anything happens to you I will feel guilty.” Very fun. It’s like if the Hound and Arya liked each other from the beginning.

What I disliked

Lavinia pt 1. She was interesting at first, but when they were establishing that her town is full of selfish people and people who will weasel their way for money, it just ruined her. She was so selfish, so money oriented, and just so opposite to Tiuri that it really irked me. Tbf she does improve the more she cares for Tiuri, but still.

Lavinia pt 2. I did not like that she was actually the Chosen One. It makes absolutely no sense for her to be the magical savior of prophecy; not when magic was established as purely Eviellen. There was no explanation as to how or why she has powers, unlike for Tiuri.

Bury your gays. This has been shouted from the roof tops in this fandom already, but wow was it truly an unnecessary death. Not only did a gay boy die, but Lavinia (who, in literally the episode before, used HEALING MAGIC to save Tiuri) did absolutely nothing to try and save him. She only watched as he died. -10/10.

The climactic face off between hero(es) and villain was SO FUCKING LAME. They are just staring at each other, using their “powers” but like???? LAMELY. It seemed like they were trying to mimic Aang vs Ozai’s final fight with the darkness and the light fighting, but my god was so so lame. The music, unfortunately, was not as strong in that moment either.

What could be improved

I think 6 episodes were not enough. There were too many things that were unexplained or needed time to develop. 8 episodes could have been ideal.

First, Iona’s betrayal. It felt like it came out of nowhere, or at least out of very petty spite. She decides to call up the authorities because, what? Arman forgot she was an orphan? Nah nah nah, I need more seeds to be sown to believe it. Sure there was what Jaro said to her after the avalanche, but even then she has the same level of “i hate all of you” as before their quest started. Instead we should have seen her get more and more fed up with the group, or feeling more like an outsider.

Second, what the hell did Viridian do to Alianor??? He turns her eyes black and we see absolutely nothing. The next we see her she’s completely fine? Um, no. Either 1. show us what conversation went down between him and her, or 2. give us a small clip of her alone where her eyes turn black again, to make it clear she’s still under his influence.

Third, Piak should have died instead of Jussipo. Tumblr user @thylovelylionheart wrote about this and I agree 100%. You can find it here. Not only does it make sense, but it also brings a clear flashback to when Jussipo/Piak said that their parents would kill Jussipo if Piak was hurt. Parallel that, not Jussipo’s lyric about their[Jussoldo’s] love being carried to the grave smh.

Tiuri should still have magic. Not only is he a shaman’s son, but his mother knew that he was destined for something large. In the last scene we see her in, standing up on the stands as Tiuri is knighted, she looks unhappy. Why? Also the bird flock??? it needs a bit more explaining.

Having more episodes would then invest us with Tiuri’s mother. Alianor said she would still protect her even after she went to the summit. But then we never see Tiuri’s mother in danger?? It would have brought more stakes to the journey, at least for the audience, to know that Tiuri’s last life line could be hurt, even if he didn’t know.

Heck, we could spend an episode with everyone separated again. Lavinia goes off to find her road. It would give us more time to settle for the idea of Lavinia being the Chosen One, since the reveal would still be ep 5. We could have her be alone and meet someone who, idk, shows her the light (haha). Think Toph and Iroh. She’s still selfish but cares for Tuiri, but is not wired to be a savior. So she gets help from, let’s say the Father Monk from the mountains, who helps her prioritise that even if she doesn’t want to save the world, saving one person [Tiuri] would be enough. And she turns up at the palace FOR Tiuri, not because she suddenly gained morals. it makes more sense in terms of how her character development played out.

The final episode should have been a final battle. That’s it.

Overall: The Letter For The King is a meh show. It’s gorgeous and the first 4 episodes are thrilling and exciting. But the show drops the ball in eps 5 and 6 in a way that really ruins the fun you’ve had. Should you watch it? Maybe.

 Hello!! Of course I can n.n (sorry it took so long to answer, I kept making changes to this aha). I’ve decided to list my current top 3 favourites, because apparently I’ve watched a lot.

Okay guys, here goes.

Chinese dramas:

So lately the past year or so of my life has been consumed by cdrams (and recently kdramas by extension), but here are some of my faves that I’ve watched.

The Untamed

Anyone who follows my blog knows my crazy obsession with this amazing show. It’s based off of a novel called the Grandmaster of demonic cultivation (has an anime with the same name– s2 is slowly being released right now). The story takes place in a world ruled by the evil Wen Sect. Wei Ying and Lan Zhan cross paths and become good friends (hardcore bromance). Wei Ying tries to save innocent Wen from death, and in the end, he lost almost everything. After going missing for 16 years, the pair find each other again and try to find the real villain.

It’s full of action, mystery, adventure, heart ache, supernatural ghouls, longing, whumping, and an amazingly attractive cast that should honestly be illegal. If you’re looking for a show with lots of emotional pain that will swallow you whole, then you’re in the right place. 

P/s. the 2 mains sing their love song which makes it that much more beautiful/painful.

Ps/s. IT ALSO JUST GOT PUT ONTO NETFLIX GUYS. No excuses not to binge it, and when you do, dm me so we can fangirl together.

Guardian

Another drama based off of a novel, with gay bros, longing, and adventure. Shen Wei is an immortal (kind of), and currently a university professor that has been waiting centuries for his lover/friend (Yunlan) to repay him for what he gave Shen Wei and will do anything for him. Zhao Yunlan is the head of the SID, a department that solves mysteries and crimes with supernatural origins. Together they help save others, solve mysteries, and save the world from Shen Wei’s evil twin brother. 

 All I can say about this one is that if you haven’t seen it, you’re seriously missing out (but warning, the cgi is horrible lmao). It was also super amazing seeing Zhu Yilong in a main role like this. The king of micro-expression seriously doesn’t let us down. 

Legend of Fuyao

This show had consumed my soul for about a full month and a half until I finished it. When I finished watching, it left me sad that it was over. Got to be honest, the ending is still a bit confusing, but is still worth the watch. This is an epic love story about Fuyao, an orphan looking for adventure, but gets caught in a fight between kingdoms and destiny. Along the way, she meets the Crown Prince and they fall in love, but destiny has their fates already decided. They are on the opposite sides of good and evil and need to decide whether one lives and the other dies. It’s got amazing fight scenes and a really attractive male lead (his first lead in a show I believe). Super amazing acting, because let’s be real, any show with Yang Mi is an automatically good show. She’s just too amazing.

Other honourable mentions: Granting you a dreamlike life, Eternal Love, Untouchable Lovers, the Rise of Phoenixes, Detective L– were amazing shows I could rewatch until I die.

Side note: I am super excited for Xiao Zhan’s Jade Dynasty. So hopefully that movie will be available to us soon.

Korean Dramas:

All right guys. I’ve only recently started watching korean shows about half a year ago or so, so I haven’t seen too many, but the ones I have seen I’ve fallen into a deep love with that keeps me going lol.

My Country: The New Age (ongoing)

This show only has 8 episodes so far and I can’t tell you all how amazing this show is. Words can literally not even describe how much it’s consuming every waking second of my life right now. I think the main reason is Seon ho, who started off as someone you respect, but is constantly doing bad shit. He tries to salvage good things from the wrecks he keeps making, but who knows how long that will last. He is ambiguous and slowly turning into a villain. He is slowly turning into the things he wants to destroy and it’s heartbreaking. My heart aches for him and Hwi all the damn time. I just want them to be bff again and stop fighting, but of course this won’t happen. This show has political turmoil and a country at war with a royal family and council who just wants to watch the world burn. Of course, this means manipulating everyone to get what they want, but both Hwi and SH are trying to play their own game, accidentally putting themselves against each other constantly. Watch for heart break, friendship (sometimes), and very attractive male leads aha.

Also, the music is 1000000 thumbs up. All I can say is PLEASE WATCH IT AND FREAK OUT WITH ME.

Black

I don’t want to spoil too much about this show because it’s honestly an experience. It’s about a girl who can see when people are going to die because of the shadows that follow them. She meets a childhood friend, who has a secret, and he asks her to help him solve crimes and protect people from dying, but of course he has his own plans. Get ready for a funny and badass female lead guys.

It’s the first korean drama I watched and will always be one of my faves. It’s an incredible murder-mystery story with more layers than a damn onion. It’ll keep you on your toes and the ending makes me cri evry tiem.

Arthdal Chronicles

At first I thought this show was kind of weird, but an episode in and I was hooked. This show is difficult to explain, but it starts with a war between Arth and the Neanthal. 2 legendary babies get separated and live in opposite parts of the country. This show is hard to describe but it follows the 3 mains, Eunsom, Tanya, and Saya (and Tagon/ Taelha lol) and their fight through tragedy, and sometimes hell on Arth (lol – like hell on earth – am I funny yet). It’s all about a fight for power and revenge among the tribes. Every single character in this show has a different reason, but they all want power to get revenge, basically.

The fantasy aspect of this show and the different ‘species’ are incredible. It does get very political, but the fun of it is all the plotting, and how the characters fix their plans that don’t work out. Half way through I kept screaming at my TV for the mains (Tanya/Saya specifically) to just fkking talk to each other ughhh. Also, Saya will be my favourite unstable boy forever. 

It has 18 episodes on netflix so far, but just signed up for 2 more seasons (thank god because if they stopped at 18 eps I’d pull a Rosa Diaz and kill everyone and then myself -.-”). I can’t wait for it to come back. GIVE ME MORE CONTENT.

1. Do you remember the episode/scene/chapter that you first started shipping 6?

I think I started shipping Amy/Rory during the Venice fish monster ep - cos that was when I felt Amy really did love him back and they had a future together. Before I suspected that her running away with the Doctor was a sign she and Rory weren’t right for each other.

2. Have you ever read a FanFiction about 2?

Only read a handful of Ineffable fic. Overall I’m perfectly happy with the canon alone.

3. Has a picture of 4 ever been your screen saver/profile picture/tumblr?

Yes I’ve had Foxma themed phone backgrounds and a tumblr header :)

4. If 7 were to suddenly break-up today, what would your reaction be?

Disbelief and disapproval. Nomi and Amanita were one of the great constants of Sense8 for me. I think a break up would be out of character for them tbh. Plus it would be denying the black and trans characters a rare example of a happy ending, which would suck.

5. Why is 1 so important?

I wrote such a detailed thing about how DeanCas is not only important to me personally but also how I feel it’s been important for TV/media in general... ugh, tumblr!

In a nutshell - this ship helped me better myself in various ways. It introduced me to fandom,  which boosted my confidence and independence via increased socialisation; it encouraged me to write more, which improved my writing skills; meta discussions educated me on lots of issues, inc. but not limited to abuse, sexuality, gender identit, autism and racism.

I also genuinely believe that the loud and open fandom support of the ship has been a significant help in the ongoing battle for more and better queer rep in media.

6. Is 9 a funny ship or a serious ship?

Serious! Catra and Adora’s relationship is a core part of the whole show, relating to lots of the wider themes of abuse, toxic behaviour, growth and forgiveness. Plus the significance of a same sex romance involving the lead character in a CHILDREN’S CARTOON really cannot be overstated.

(but it is also cute and funny sometimes :p)

7. Out of all of the ships listed, which ship has the most chemistry?

I’ve spoken before about having issues with the concept of ‘chemistry.’ If I ship characters it’s usually because I find the combination of their characterisation and story arcs interesting/compelling. I often don’t notice (or I guess care about?) chemistry.

So I think I’m not qualified to answer this one.

8. Out of all of your ships listed, which ship has the strongest bond?

Agreeing with @castiel-saved-me-from-myself​ here - you can’t really beat the Ineffables millenia long romance :)

9. How many times have you read/watched 8’s fandom?

I’ve rewatched The Librarians 2 or 3 times now. It’s DAFT. But it’s fun. And Eve and Flynn make me feel warm and fuzzy.

10. Which ship has lasted the longest?

Again, as @castiel-saved-me-from-myself​ said - it’s gotta be the Ineffables, both within AND outside of the story, since Good Omens was originally published over 30 years ago and the Zira/Crowley shippers have been going strong all that time. Otherwise it’s DeanCas.

(though idk if Catradora was a ship back when the original She Ra cartoon was airing, or when the original cartoon was made, so it’s possible that is also a contender!)

11. How many times, if ever, has 2 broken up?

Lol at @castiel-saved-me-from-myself​ for getting Nygmob for this one, as their relationship is, like, 90% break up :P

For the Ineffables though it’s basically just the once - when Zira chooses Heaven over Crowley. Not made such a Big Deal in the book IIRC, but in the show it’s the infamous Bandstand Break Up scene.

All other separations are only minor, temporary squabbles imo. Which is what makes the Bandstand scene so PAINFULLY, BEAUTIFULLY, ANGSTY AND EMOTIONAL and why I love it so! 

12. If the world was suddenly thrust into a zombie apocalypse, which ship would make it out alive, 2 or 8?

I figure angels and demons probably can’t be killed by zombies, so the Ineffables are the most likely.

But Eve and Flynn did actually face off against zombie-ghost things in an alt universe during a whole Loom of Fate plot and survived, so I think they’d probably also make it.

13. Did 5 ever have to hide their relationship for any reason?

No, Babs and Tabs were always open about being together, even when Tabs was also in a relationship with Butch.

I might argue they hid the depth of their feelings for each other though, even from themselves, and instead made out what they had together was just a casual ‘friends with benefits’ type thing.

Though Tabs did hide things a little when she sent assassins after Jim cos she blamed him for putting Babs in a coma. She clearly knew her brother would disappprove, which is why she didn’t tell him what she was doing. I guess that kinda counts as hiding her relationship with Babs? She was trying to conceal how much Babs mattered to her?

14. Is 4 still together?

Lol, Foxma were never together (ALAS!). But the show did end with their lingering fondness for each other intact I think.

15. Is 3 canon?

Is Nygmobblepot canon? Rather a touchy question for the fandom tbh.

If we are talking EXPLICIT canon - then no. 

They never got a kiss or a MUTUAL love declaration (and they had a controversial ‘we’re brothers’ exchange in the penultimate episode) - ergo there is not enough, imo, to say they ended the show officially romantically involved.

However, Ozzie DID EXPLICITLY DECLARE HIS ROMANTIC LOVE for Ed, and that was never rescinded. There is also LOTS OF SUBTEXT floating around Ed to imply he reciprocates. Plus they did end the show together as clear Partners in Crime.

So is Nygmob subtextual canon?

I would say yes.

But explicit, CANON canon?

A frustrating no that fandom remains, understandably, critical about.

16. If all 10 ships were put into a couple’s Hunger Games, which couple would win?

I think a toss up between Nygmob and Babitha - because everyone else has too many morals that would hold them back from killing :p

(and since Ed and Oz have both bested Babs and Tabs in the past I lean towards them... but it would depend on when in Gotham canon the games were happening!)

17. Has anybody ever tried to sabotage 10’s ship?

Breaking up Cosima and Delphine was a LITERAL PLOT POINT of Orphan Black at one point, so very much yes! I forget the details (the show got very twisty, with lots of different organisations working on different agendas in the shadows), but I’m pretty sure Delphine was shot because she was protecting Cosima. I remember it BROKE MY HEART and I thought it was a casebook example of Bury Your Gays. But, spoiler: it wasn’t ;)

18. Which ship would you defend to the death and beyond?

Going with DeanCas, because I think that, historically, it’s the one that’s been in most need of defending.

19. Do you spend hours a day going through 1’s tumblr page?

Not anymore I’m afraid. Though 3 or so years ago I used to spend most of my free time on DeanCas and spn meta. Ah, nostalgia.

20. If an evil witch descended from the sky and told you that you had to pick one of the ten ships to break up forever or else she´d break them all forever, which ship would you sink?

Foxma. Because while I adore the idea of a messy, confused ~something between them, in my heart I know that Foxy deserves better :P

Sword Art Online: Alicization: War of Underworld EP#26 (02) - Raids: With Rulid under attack by goblins and orcs, Alice quickly equips her armor, but conceals it beneath her clothes and flies to the village on Amayori. She finds a small group of villagers attempting fight off the goblins while the remaining villagers stand back preparing to mount a defence. Alice attempts to evacuate them, but they refuse to defy the orders of the guards of the village. Left with no choice, Alice reveals to the villagers her identity as an Integrity Knight and orders the villagers to evacuate, much to Barbossa's disgust. With newfound determination, her eye regenerates by force of will and she swiftly defeats the invasion. Meanwhile, in the real world, Gabriel Miller and his team approach Rath on a submarine. He and his invasion force have taken control of the main control room of Ocean Turtle but are currently locked out. Asuna, Kikuoka, and the remaining staff at Rath get a reading on their current situation and decide their next course of action is to retake control of Ocean Turtle and prevent A.L.I.C.E from falling into enemy hands.

My Hero Academia Shie Hassaikai Arc Season 4 EP#73 (10) - Temp Squad: Fat Gum and Eijiro are victorious in their fight against the two thugs. Meanwhile, Izuku and company struggle against Joi Irinaka whose quirk is preventing them from moving forward. To make matters worse, Himiko Toga and Twice from the League of Villains have also joined the fight.

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind EP#11 - Narancia's Aerosmith: A flashback shows how Narancia grew up on the streets until he was rescued by Fugo and Bucciarati. Formaggio traps the miniature Narancia in a bottle with a spider to interrogate him on Trish's whereabouts. However, Narancia had earlier managed to have Aerosmith riddle a car with bullets which suddenly explodes, scorching Formaggio and returning Narancia to his normal size. Using his own blood to extinguish the flames engulfing him, Formaggio shrinks himself and attempts to escape under the smoke affecting Aerosmith's radar. However, Narancia causes more explosions, surrounding Formaggio with more fires and forcing him to reveal himself. The two have one final stand-off, resulting in Narancia managing to kill Formaggio. Back at the vineyard, Bucciarati receives instructions from the boss to travel to Pompeii and retrieve a key near a dog mosaic for a vehicle which can escort Trish to safety.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Drum House Arc EP#13 - Something More Important Than Life: The entire house shifts its orientation suddenly, throwing Zenitsu and Shoichi outside through a second story window. The room Tanjiro is in flips, sending papers from a cabinet flying across the room. When Tanjiro lands, he takes care not to step on them. This causes Kyogai to recall how, as a human, he loved to write but was belittled, his writing discarded, though Tanjiro took care not to step on it. Tanjiro figures out how to take quicker shallow breaths and reinforce the muscles around his leg to compensate and also becomes able to smell the claw attack coming. This lets him get close enough to cut off Kyogai's head, but he tells him his Blood Art was incredible before decapitating him. Before he dies, Kyogai finds himself crying as Tanjiro has recognized his blood art and writing. Using a hollow knife made by Yushiro, Tanjiro collects a blood sample, which is taken by an enchanted cat of Yushiro's with an invisibility spell before he looks for Kiyoshi and Teruko. He is greeted by a book to the face when he finds them as their drum had vanished and they couldn't shift anymore, but they apologize. He takes them outside where he finds Inosuke kicking a badly wounded Zenitsu, who is protecting Nezuko's box. Inosuke had come out of the house after Zenitsu and tried to destroy the box since he was getting a demonic vibe from Nezuko within. Zenitsu recognizes him as the Fifth survivor of Final Selection, who was there but did not show himself. Zenitsu already knew there was a demon in Tanjiro's box as he could hear her breathing and heartbeat but trusted Tanjiro had a reason for declaring it was more important then his life and protects it. As Tanjiro sees Inosuke about to stab Zenitsu, he shouts at Inosuke to stop and rushes him.

Dr. Stone Communications Arc EP#20 - The Age of Energy: Senku and Ishigami Village begin work on the cell phone, planning to complete its construction by spring. In order to manufacture gold filaments for wiring, Senku creates a cotton candy machine to test with sugar. Senku brings cotton candy to Homura, who has been spying on the Kingdom of Science. After running into imperfections making filaments, Senku develops a gear train for the cotton candy machine, inspiring Chrome to construct a waterwheel with Kaseki.

Fire Force Netherworld Arc EP#23 - Smiles: Shinra again uses his Adolla Burst jump to light speed, causing his childhood memories to be shared with Sho. While initially rejecting memories from their youth, scenes with Shinra caring for him and their mother's love overwhelm Sho, causing him to break down in tears. As Shinra embraces his younger brother, he realizes his uncontrolled speed has resulted in Sho's sword piercing his body. Haumea appears and reveals that they are collecting Adolla Bursts for the Evangelist who wants to kick-start the Great Cataclysm again. Haumea attempts to apprehend Shinra, but Arthur and the rest of Company 8 arrive to rescue him. The Evangelist causes the tunnel to collapse, enabling Haumea and Yana escape with Sho, while Company 8 exits with the severely injured Shinra. At Special Fire Hospital 6, Director Kayoko Huang uses her serpent-like flaming Rod of Ascepius to heal Shinra. He awakens three days later and is greeted by Company 1 commander Captain Leonard Burns who reveals that he knew everything about the Kusakabe house fire and how Sho had been indoctrinated by the Evangelist. Furious, Shinra demands an explanation but Burns challenges him to see if Shinra's resolve is strong enough.

Food Wars!: The Second Plate Totsuki Autumn Election Arc EP#26 - Interplay of Light & Shadow: Megumi competes against Ryo in the second match, where the two make ramen dishes using pre-prepared noodles. As both Megumi and Ryo make ramen using seafood based broths, Alice recalls when she first met Ryo ten years ago. Ryo presents his Soupe de Poisson Ramen first, impressing the judges with a rich flavor made using crushed lobster shells. Despite the shift in the crowd's tone, Megumi concentrates on finishing her Kozuyu Chicken Soy Sauce Ramen, which draws out umami from scallops and simmered dried vegetables while also using a flavor-changing sauce.

Black Clover: Elf Tribe Reincarnation Arc EP#102 - Two Miracles: Nero appears to watch the boys from next to the first Wizard King's statue atop the giant demon skull. As Asta and Yuno fight the elf, a user of poison plant magic, the injured Father Orsi, Sister Lily and the orphans reminisce on their memories of them growing up and then learning about Asta and Yuno's lives as magic knights through the letters they sent home. They recall all Asta and Yuno's most recent experiences with their squads, the Wizard King, The Underwater Temple, the Witches Forest and the Midnight Sun. While Yuno fights the elf Asta tries to use his sword to remove the poison from Father Orsi, but fails as the original spell is gone and cannot be nullified, while the poison remains in Father Orsi's body. Father Orsi manages to tell Asta how proud he is of both him and Yuno and asks that they protect the village then dies from the poison. Asta's grief summons from his grimoire the sword he took from Licht, now as black and rusted as his other swords. As he grasps the sword he experiences a vision of Licht and his anti-magic demon form activates.
