no but think about the Loki from Thor. from Avengers. the fact that he’s fighting for something good that he believes in means so much. the fact that he can sit there and say he just wants his friends back. these friends. the ones who see him for him. who don’t judge him. who he feels like he BELONGS with.

when has Loki ever felt like he belongs anywhere? he’s always been the outsider, the outcast, the villain. at the TVA he has felt appreciated and accepted. no one is singling him out or giving him a hard time for being himself. he FITS. he has come so so far. and shipping aside, the main reason for that is Mobius. someone who has seen every dark crevice of his life and his bad choices and his darkest moments and treated him with compassion and understanding.

the orphaned, abandoned, misunderstood villain has been able to write his own story because one ordinary man believed in him.

thinking about how curt constantly calls owen his partner even though the first thing we learn about them is that they're from different agencies and therefore can never be partners. they were telling us from the beginning.

I can't believe there's two Joey Richter characters that are part of a doomed, tragic romance that ends with a person being killed by their partner AND who have a bond-esque motif associated with them. I also can't believe one of them is Ted Spankoffski.

The thing I absolutely love about curtwen is that. Curt is a bitch, right? Like yeah, he can be sweet, and he's not as morally bankrupt as Owen, but he's just a dick. He's inconsiderate, irresponsible and clearly, growing up gay and having to be a big confident macho guy™ all the time did nothing good for him.

With how he treats those around him, he absolutely seems like a guy who pushes people away whenever he feels like the relationship is slipping even just a little bit. HE wants to be one who ruins the relationship, and gives that final push, just so he doesn't have to face that fact that people can leave you just because they don't like being around you anymore, found someone else, or just need to take a step away. He doesn't want to admit, that maybe he needs to change and better himself. He wants to give people an actual big reason to leave him, so he's less hurt by it, and it works really well. And then he meets Owen.

Not only is Owen a bitch too, but also obsessed with Curt. He wouldn't leave him no matter what he does (until....) And Curt won't leave Owen, because he finally found someone who understands all aspects of his life, and he feels like he needs Owen or else. I think they both realize this pretty early on in the relationship and it has absolutely horrible consequences for both of them. They will treat each other horribly, knowing it won't have any lasting consequences on their relationship. They will argue and scream that they never want to see each other again, but go back to normal a month later.

In their worst moments they exploit this weird obsessive-codependent thing they have, and in their best moments they call it love (somewhere deep down it is)

I think when Owen starts to realize Curt isn't obsessed with him, like he previously thought, part of him starts resenting Curt for it. Curt knows this, but by now he knows he can't and doesn't want to push Owen away. They just sweep it under the rug, like everything else. They facilitate each others' bad habits, because if they talked about them the relationship would fall apart. Owen doesn't mention Curt's alcoholism, Curt doesn't mention Owen's cruelty. And when they do, they quickly realize it won't get them anywhere.

Something something about how Curt and maybe even Owen could have some sort of healthy relationship with someone else, be that friendship, romance or something else, but at the same time, at this point in their lives this was somehow the best option for both of them. Crazy. Doomed by the narrative to divorce always and forever

so since sophomore year has been slowly fully releasing on youtube instead of being mainly a dropout exclusive i’ve been able to watch sophomore year in full finally , and yesterday i got to the start of angst fabian , and i want you to know riz asking him who did this to him and what happened has been on repeat in my brain for the last 24 hours

all of the torchwood shooting scripts (minus miracle day but who cares about that) are on the bbc website so i'm reading them because why not

and it's giving me Feelings about owen because the emotions primarily used to describe him in the scripts are variations on scared, vulnerable, angry, "like a little boy", and sad

except in fragments, where (before katie's death) he's described as kind, patient, and "so in love"

before season 2 aired i thought we would never get our original Mobius back. I thought they were going to shove Sylki down our throats. i thought i was going to have to slough through a poorly written, unbearable season of tv just to get little crumbs of Loki and Mobius interacting.

but this. this far surpassed anything i could have hoped for. even if this story hadn’t been Loki’s i would have devoured it. it was clever and well thought out. it was well written with amazing sets and lighting and music. it played up strengths from season 1 that i thought for sure they had long abandoned. like the incredible and compelling setting that is the TVA. and making the cast an ensemble with the already stellar cast they had (and adding the instantly lovable O.B.). Tom was excellent. Owen was phenomenal. and every scene we got with them together was a gift.

the story was crafted with care and forethought and amazing attention to detail. you can’t say that about most big budget studio stories these days. i’m so in awe of everything this season was. it far surpassed season 1 for me and honored the legacy of Loki in a way i never could have dreamed. i honestly think it will go down as one of the most epic seasons of tv ever, for me.

it may have ended bittersweet, but it really didn’t feel like the end of Loki and Mobius’s story to me. it definitely feels like there’s more to tell. and i can’t wait.
