A/N: I love this this is so interesting to explore.... oldest request in my inbox too so over 2 years old at least !! Sorry it took so long but I had a lot of fun doing it now LMAO (˶˃ ᗜ ˂˶)

I don’t think he can handle a lot of jealousy. 

I see a lot of headcanons about him being this possessive, jealous, overprotective guy, but that’s… really not how I see it at all?

The only reason he threatens Frisk in game (from my interpretation at least) is because they’re a very real threat, but he’s never shown to be hostile in any other situation. Everyone likes him because he’s so easygoing and charming, I can’t imagine him having any sort of jealousy issues. Like, genuinely not at all. I don’t think he ever gets jealous himself tbh unless he’s having a really really crappy day and you’re giving all your attention to other people, but even then it’s not in the “grrr you’re mine” type of way it’s in the mopey kinda sad type of way. I think he’d get super freaked if his partner had those types of issues. 

Like, a little bit is fine. It’s endearing when you cling to him and when you pout and try to get his attention. It can even be a little charming if you get a little huffy with the person making you jealous. He just draws the line at real anger. If you get legitimately upset about him talking to someone else then he really will not appreciate that. 

Willing to communicate with you about it if your jealousy revolves around only one specific person, can slightly compromise by putting a little distance between himself and that person (unless it’s someone he’s super super close to since before he even met you), but he’s not gonna accept unreasonable jealousy and anything he deems as controlling

Surprisingly little, but he won’t leave his partner over jealousy issues even if they’re bad — he just won’t accept it, and train it out of you LMAO

Listen it’s never your partners responsibility to fix your issues. but. Papyrus will fix your issues I’m crying

He tuts at you and scolds you when he notices you sending other people dirty looks for getting too close to him, but he isn’t necessarily cruel about it. He assures you that it is, of course, perfectly normal to be afraid to lose something as perfect and great as him !! But you don’t need to be because he loves you. And also, frankly, you need to get a grasp on yourself !! It is not very great to get angry about these kinds of things. Now, learning to control yourself, that is truly… beyond great !!!!!! 

Works on it with you, without ever entertaining your jealousy problems. Type of guy to legitimately change you for the better forever I'm so serious

Will, however, with a very heavy heart break up if there’s no end in sight at all. If you don’t even try to improve, and your jealousy creates actual anger in you, then you are unfortunately a danger to his friends and family and he can’t keep you around. But it probably won’t ever come to that.

Can handle surprisingly much, actually

You’d think a stern guy like him, who always insists you must retain a large level of independence from him even in a relationship, would hate it. And while, yeah, he doesn’t like it… he also really doesn’t hate it either. 

He’ll sternly tell you off if he thinks it goes too far (for example if you snark at the person you deem as haven gotten too close; he can defend his own honour perfectly well on his own, thank you very much), he’ll put up with more than you’d think.

Mostly rolls his eyes at your behaviour, calling it juvenile. He doesn’t mind it too much though. You would know if it really bothered him. He is not the type to let behaviour he doesn’t like just slip without a serious talking to with real consequences. Certainly not above demanding more space should he find that the both of you need the distance. You know he’s fine with it as long as it goes out on no one but him and in non violent/hostile manners. Sometimes he even grins, finding it a little bit charming.

Unless you have, like… SERIOUS serious jealousy issues, it won’t be a dealbreaker for him.

Would accept any amount of jealousy from you (/neg)

This bad boy can fit so many unhealthy coping mechanisms

He even finds it nice. He actively enjoys it. He WANTS you to be jealous. It feels validating to him that you want him so much you’re willing to fight on his behalf just to keep him. 

Only times he’ll mind it is if it goes out over the people he genuinely cares about. Will get super uncomfortable if you try to control what friends he sees, but will do as you ask because he’s afraid to lose you. This goes past jealousy to controlling and possessive, I know, but I’m trying to paint the picture of how bad it is. 😭 His self esteem is actually so awful, he’ll take whatever he’s given. If you’re not careful, he does become codependent on you. It’s no surprise then that he’s willing to accept unacceptable behaviour. 

Mal, however, will notice if it gets to a point and steps in. If your jealousy issues cause you to become controlling, the relationship will end. 

But, if we’re talking about how much he SHOULD handle, not how much he’ll allow himself to handle, I think it’s for the best his partner isn’t very jealous at all. Sometimes a little jealousy is obviously fine, that’s normal and human, but I don’t think it’s good for him to have a partner who will get too clingy or mopey, and definitely not mad at him, if they feel he isn’t with them all the time. Like I mentioned before, he has codependency issues; I think a partner who gets jealous might unintentionally feed into it. His partner needs to be able to encourage him to hang out with other people and handle him having friends if things are to work out well.

i like statistics so I think it would be really interesting to make a google forms survey asking people to rate the utdr + uty characters from 1-5 and share it across a bunch of social media sites. and the survey would have a question like "which social media did you find this survey from?" or "which social media do you frequent the most?" to see how the results differ. I have the impression that Martlet and Ceroba would be really popular with people from reddit while Starlo would be a lot more popular with people from tumblr/twitter.

Day 4 - Slice of life

"You write Sans as too mean!"

Guys imma remind ya'll of a very important thing when it comes to my husband. Which is,

Sans is an extremely mysterious and furthermore extremely flawed character. Toby Fox literally said he wanted Sans to feel real so like most people there's a lot of layers and complexity to him

Not to mention similar to most people we know, we just don't have the full context behind a lot of what they do. This is especially the case with Sans.

Also should go without saying but this is about Vanilla undertale Sans, not his AU counterparts where their entire gimmick is that they are nicer or more evil than bis default self.

The first one "you write Sans as too nice", Sans is not a character known for cruelty

He's friendly if cheeky toward the player / Frisk, strictly talking within the pacifist route. While we'll talk about that whole promise to protect later but this isn't something exclusive to just the player or player character

Sans is established to be fairly popular and openly friendly within the underground, he has a decent amount of friends and people seem to like him. While I wouldn't call Sans a goodie two shoes that goes out of his way to constantly help others clearly he's established to a friendly and chill dude

Also while clearly he loves to play pranks and goof around, he's also down to go alone with the players antics as well to a certain extent

All this indicates that Sans is a good natured guy for the most part, plus it's worth nothing it's very implied that the reason Sans has so many jobs is to afford the place he and Papyrus live at

Sans sounds pretty nice, there's a lot of basis that allows you to interpet his character in a very positive light

Onto the next one "you write Sans as too mean"

Sans can do some shady shit

Granted he immediately attempts to play it as a joke and it's unclear how serious Sans is actually being here, not to mention his motivation behind saying this. The dramatic timing with the music stopping and everything certainly IMPLIES he wasn't joking but there's some room for interpretation. Besides I wouldn't be surprised if he was serious but wouldn't have followed through when the time came but more on that later

Also a friend pointed out while he jokes with everyone, he only plays pranks on Frisk, while we can assume he does it to other monsters we only witness it done to Frisk

Pranks can be interpreted in a variety of ways depending on your relationship with the person doing them, and whether or not you find the pranks funny. I found Sans to be funny and most did but, not everyone will

Trying to sell snow to a little kid (even if he doesn't follow through on the extremely high price), asking you to foot the extremely pricey bill at Grillby's (though again he doesn't follow through) the telescope prank or volunteering to stack hotdogs on someone's head without asking...all of this could be seen as passive aggressive forms of bullying. Not saying I think it is or at least if it was, that it likely wasn't all intentional on Sans' part.

At the end of the "dead where you stand" speech, this can casts his past actions in a negative light, he tells you he was, "Just kidding." Where is the humor in a "joke" like that? And then for the bonus round, he'll make a smart alecky comment that goes something like, "I've done a good job looking out for you. You haven't died a single time!"

But anyone who isn't a master at undertale gameplay (most players especially first time ones) has died at least once upon leaving the ruins if not SEVERAL times by this point

And Sans knows of resets, so this is him being a bit of a dick here tbh. Unless you go the route of assuming that Sans is truly completely 100% oblivious which the game doesn't support even if it's amusing to think about

Now on the trust pacifist ending at least we get solid confirmation, that Sans likes Frisk and is their friend but there's a lot of ambiguity about where this starts in game. Did he straight up not like Frisk at the start but kept his promise reluctantly? Did he only change his views at the end of true pacifist? Did it change in-between the journey? Or were all these pranks really just good natured and Sans never meant ill will to begin with? Up to you, which brings us to the next point

The genocide route

Though obviously the context for the genocide route vs the pacifist route are entirely different, I do think the information we're given reframes some of his actions in the pacifist route. We all wanna rag on Sans for threatening a literal child but-

We have the ability to reset. Which need I remind you the only other character we know for a fact had this ability was Flowey. Who uh, is not a good dude need I remind you and he did his own genocide routes in the past. The difference between us the player doing a genocide route is that we followed through until the end, Flowey didn't.

It can be a bit harsh but idk about you, if I found out someone, even if that someone WAS a kid had the ability to control time like that....would you trust them? Would you like them right off the bat regardless of how good of a person they seemed?

Of course how much Sans remembers different timelines is unclear and again entirely up to interpretation, for the most part he is aware of resets but doesn't remember them. But I have seen theories arguing he does so again depending on the context here this can reframe Sans' actions.

Also worth noting that he does mention that he did want to befriend the anomaly (the player/frisk), thinking they just needed a good laugh or something akin to that. Which certainly could indicate his pranks were truly good natured and not an attempt at bullying, but also he could just be saying this to throw the player off. Sans is not above using manipulation to get the player to stop, i.e him pretending to spare us for example

You're quickly noticing a trend here.

Sans may be doing something with the best of intentions, Sans may be just being a straight up dick. Sans does not wear his heart let alone his true intentions on his sleeve. Which is why he's such a compelling character to begin with.

That's not to say we know NOTHING about him, he cares about Papyrus clearly, he cares about Toriel (I will come back to this too dw), he's shown to be extremely clever, observant and he definitely does like jokes. The takeaway should not be that Sans is some unknowable character, the takeaway should be a lot of things are simply unclear about him. Much like people we know irl.

Think of Sans like a puzzle, we have some pieces but some are missing and while we can actively do our best to fill in the blanks we'll likely just never know the complete picture

However, a common theme with Undertale is there are no bad people simply people put in difficult situations with no right answer. Which brings me to the neutral routes which given the sheer number of neutral endings there are it'd be impossible to cover them all ESPECIALLY since this post is already super long

But

I will address a few things

The first one being "why doesn't Sans intervene when the human starts killing?" well the reason can vary depending on the extremity of the players actions here, however we have to address the main thing here.

We can debate how much Sans actually remembers about different timelines and previous resets all day, but he is aware of them. To quote the man himself if YOU lived everyday of your life knowing you'll just start over like your previous actions just didn't happen....what would you do?

The man is DEPRESSED as a result, he keeps through the motions but he has given up and doesn't believe his actions matter. Does that justify not doing anything up until the VERY end of the genocide route and straight up not doing anything in more brutal neutral routes?

Hard to say. Would you do though?

Sans knows who he's dealing with. It does not matter what he does he can't stop you. The only reason he trys in the genocide route is BECAUSE YOU'RE ABOUT TO END THE FREAKIN WORLD

Plus someone pointed out in a weird way waiting that long to see if you ever change your ways or show even an ounce of mercy by sparing a single monster is in a way holding true to his brother mentality of even the WORST person can change

Also remember he doesn't just NOT give a fuck if you kill everyone he cares for, Sans doesn't take action against you because he knows there's no point but Sans never goes "okay lol" he is very much upset at you ESPECIALLY if you kill Papyrus or Toriel

I couldn't find the screenshot of it but I believe in one of the neutral endings where you do kill toriel and papyrus he basically goes "you better watch yourself kid," implying he might actually hunt you down. Not 100% clear if the threat is meant to be interpreted that way, it could be more of a "stay away" than a "I'm coming for you" but still

Plus in some neutral endings he shows legit regret over not doing more

Now I've established Sans can be nice, Sans can be cruel or just kinda mean, Sans does a lot of things that pretty ambiguous in terms of intent, but Sans is also extremely flawed. Which brings me to the finale conclusion of this character analysis (?) (whatever you wanna call it?)

His promise to Toriel

Now, this is not a Soriel post even if I do admit I like the ship. However, people who act like he doesn't care about her are legit smoking crack, his promise to her was legit to comfort her, he gets along with her, in one neutral ending becomes her roommate and is actively upset by her death

Regardless of how you wish to interpret that relationship, clearly he cares about her and the two have a strong bond.

But as many people have pointed out....Sans actually does break this promise, he doesn't really do anything to protect Frisk throughout the entire game unless you count not trying to kill them on sight. Now granted with resets being a thing this creates something of a loophole

Cuz yeah Frisk did die but didn't die ya know? They can come back. There's no perma-death

But while we all want to hold Sans up to the standard of being this ultimate protector, here's something to point out that I feel like a lot of people tend to forget

Sans has 1 HP, think about that. What does that mean for him as a monster? One hit and he dies, literally, one hit. I've seen some people make the argument that HP doesn't stand for Hit Points, it's stands for HoPE

What happens to monsters when they lose enough hope? They fall down. They die. So not only is Sans physically weak but honestly I think my human standards he'd be chronically ill as if he has one hope could he literally die at any moment?

Now. Granted there is a theory that the characters choose to display their stats and that they say so this could again be Sans trolling or straight up lying but if we're going to take the "you'd be dead where you stand" line at 100% face value then we take this at 100% face value

Can Sans really be that good of a protector or would doing so actually get himself killed?

Everyone talks about how hard the genocide fight is because THATS him acting as the games last defense to stop you. There is no one else. There will be nothing else if you continue. It's why he try so hard because he has to. There will be no more world. No more him. No more anything. He's pulling out all the brakes because otherwise he's just fuuuuuucked

If Sans followed Frisk around it'd take him getting barely hit for him to die, which while Frisk can reset imagine how tiring that would be. Sans is good at dodging yes, but he gets tired pretty easily. Now you can find workarounds sure but regardless it's a lot of hassle isn't it?

This also brings me to the reason why I don't think Sans would follow through if he did attack us right outside the ruins. How long would this man actually last in a pacifist fight? Especially if the human hasn't done any harm? I feel like he'd tire easily or quickly be talked out of it, Sans isn't a ruthless killer unless he's pushed to be one

How much can Sans actually do? Does he not act in the neutral routes not JUST because of extreme depression and a defeatist attitude but because he knows that he can't do much in a fair fight? Hell, even in genocide Sans has to actively fight dirty to be such a challenge

You can argue him not at least trying anyway is cowardly or bad, but idk man. If you were chronically ill and you knew for a fact this kid can just reset then come back life would you really bother? I don't think it's unreasonable to assume that the kid is fine and it's better to risk it

Frisk can reset sure, Sans can't. And Sans doesn't have any reason to trust Frisk would being him back to life if need be.

There's a lot of difficult questions to be asked here and decisions good or bad have been made, Sans is a good guy sure at least I think so but even good guys don't always know what to do or make the right decisions.

personal list of eyeless jack / reader headcannons + reference guide to be updated upon.

(please share with me your headcannons (for any of the creepypasts). i plea for knowledge)

i. you do not know when he first called you lamb - only that he did, and that it stuck. you did not protest it- not because you liked it, or that something about it felt right; but because something about it felt inevitable. it is not a pet name, and it is not a lover's whisper. it is a sentence, a truth carved into your being as though you were something frail branded into his pack. the name, is his proof of ownership- something always spoken soft and slow, as though it is divine scripture that falls from his lips when he says your 'name'.

ii. he speaks to you the same way men speak to their gods. with reverence, with worship- with an oath to never let go. he kisses you like a priest kisses their cross, like a zealot pressing their lips to relics; holy at first, and then frenzied, desperate, lost to something greater than 'faith' itself. he praises you in the same breath that he ruins you. calls you pure- albeit he keeps you in the filth of his hands:

"untouched", he whispers against your nape one day, "unspoiled" -

yet his fingers bruise. yet his teeth leave marks. yet his mouth takes, takes, takes.

iii. jack does not let you walk around the world untouched. it is not enough that he keeps you. that he feeds from you, that you know you belong to him. no- the world must know, too. he leaves his scent along your skin in papyrus, pressed into every place that matter.

"i won't stop you from leaving", he mutters to you one day, and you shudder. "i just wonder what the other wolves will think when they smell me on you"

you do not leave.

iv. jack sleeps like gravity—pressed to you, unmoving, inevitable. his arm drapes over your waist, fingers idly stroking the hollow of your throat, tracing the rhythm of your breath. he doesn't lull you, doesn't need to, or frankly want to. the silence is as warm as it could possibly be, thick, filled only with the steady rise and fall of your body against his own. his nose lingers in your hair, breath slow, savoring the scent—coconut, mango, vanilla. soft things, things that don’t burn. things he can stand. you shift slightly, and he exhales—not in protest, not in demand. just a slow, quiet thing. a sigh against your skin.

he sleeps like this. always.

iv. ii. -> jack doesn’t like most scents. strong ones make his skull ache, make something inside him recoil. lavender stings. mint is sharp. floral perfumes cling to the air too long, cloying, bitter at the edges. but then— you find the one. the first time you used it, he lingered closer to the vanilla. nose tucked into your hair, breath deep, slow, thoughtful, curious about the mango. he didn’t pull away. didn’t grimace like he does with the others. just breathed you in. now, when you wash your hair, you feel the way his grip softens at night, how he exhales against your skin—like something settled, something content. his nose presses into your hair as he drifts, fingers at your throat, stroking absent patterns against warm skin. you keep using it.

v. he delights in the tremor that runs through you at his touch— the way your soul seems to lurch as if startled from prayer. jack does not just wish to claim you; he desires to hollow you out and fill you with nothing but him, until your trembling ceases, not from fear, but from devotion. it is not love he seeks—it is need, an aching, all-consuming dependence, the way a drowning man needs air, the way sinners beg for absolution. there is power in that.

no harm will befall you—no blade, no beast, no vengeful hand—save for the ruin he carves himself.

"the world cannot have you." "and you can?" he smiles, slow and wolfish, baring something closer to teeth than affection. "of course. who else would know how to break you so gently?"

vi. jack is not a creature of petty jealousy, but of sequestration, and there is a difference. he does not rage, does not ask, and he does not accuse. but he sees. oh, he sees. a glance that lingers too long. a voice too honeyed, too bold. a hand that dares hover in your space. and later—when the world has gone quiet, when you are his again— he will remind you. his hands will trace the places that matter: your waist, your throat, the curve of your hip– not to punish. no, not that. to mark. to press his truth into your skin like ink into vellum.

"did they touch you?" "did they think they could take what is mine?" it is not anger. not quite. it is certainty. jack does not fear losing you. he only fears the mess he will have to make proving that you were never anyone else’s to begin with.

vii. the wolf is particular about his meals—irony at its finest. he does not simply consume whatever organ he can pry from a body; he has his preferences. kidneys are his staple—nutrient-rich, compact, easy to claim. but intestines? god forbid. he would rather starve than suffer the slick, rubbery indignity of gut-meat. something about the texture revolts him, a bodily rejection so visceral it makes his stomach turn. you find it amusing. monstrous, to be sure, but amusing nonetheless:

"you’re a literatim monster," you say, watching as he grimaces at the sinewy coil of flesh in his grasp. his mask is lifted just enough to reveal the sharp cut of his mouth, a slice of shadowed expression beneath the darkness of his hood. he levels you with a look, flat and unimpressed. then, with the deliberate slowness of someone indulging a particularly stupid argument, he says; "and? even wolves won’t eat spoiled carrion."

viii. jack does not fear pain. he has been carved open, stitched shut, unmade and remade. fire does not scare him because it harms—it scares him because it cleanses. he loathes candles. the flicker, the scent, the raw reminder that flame was once used to purge unholy things- to ritualize. he watches matches burn down to your skin, eyes dark, as if something buried in his marrow remembers being hunted by torchlight.

once, you held your hand above a lighter—just to test the heat. his hand had closed over yours before you could blink.

"don’t," he murmured, quieter than you’ve ever heard him. not a threat. not a warning. just something dangerously close to pleading. you do not touch it again.

ix. jack collects things from you. it is instinct, not sentiment—at least, that’s what you tell yourself. but still, he keeps them:

a hair tie, forgotten on the edge of the sink.

a loose thread from your sweater, wrapped between his fingers absentmindedly.

they do not belong in his pockets, but they end up there anyway. you find them in odd places—the windowsill, the nightstand, tucked beneath the curve of his mask where he presses his face against you at night.

"what are you doing with those?" you ask him once, and he does not answer; just twirls the thread around his finger, pulls it tight until the skin blanches pale, and lets it go.

x. jack likes it when you speak. he does not ask you to talk, but when you do, he listens. the shift is subtle—a quiet, instinctive thing. shoulders uncoil, breath steadies, the weight he carries settling just a little lighter. your voice anchors him, keeps him from drifting too far into the abyss clawing at his ribs.

"keep talking." "about what?" "anything."

so you do. halfhearted musings, lines plucked from dog-eared pages, idle talk of rain on the windowpane; and you pretend not to notice the way he exhales, how he sinks into the sound like it’s something that keeps him tethered.

x.ii. alternatively, jack is not a man of conversation. he will almost never engage first; but when you speak, he, again, listens. you tell him about a book you read. about a movie you half-remember. about a stray thought that slipped into your mind while staring at the ceiling. and even though he does not reply, days later, you find proof that he was listening. -> a book left at your nightstand—the same one you mentioned in passing. -> a piece of fabric, soft, in the color you once said you liked. -> a place, once empty, now filled.

he does not speak his affections, but they inevitably settle in the spaces between you, waiting for you to find them.

xi. possession is not always teeth, nor torn flesh. sometimes, it is the quiet return of what was never his.

a bracelet, long vanished, placed soft upon your pillow—your name, worn down against the silver

a book, barely a thought, waiting at the table’s edge—pages bent, a thumbprint smudged into the margin, proof of something unread but held.

a ring—not stolen, but found—turned over in his fingers, the metal catching dull light. held, as if some part of him still recalls the shape of offering.

"you keep bringing me things." "you keep losing them, lamb." no further explanation. no excuse, no reason, just the weight of his gaze and the silence between. but there are things you have not lost. things jack still brings:

a feather, left where your fingers will find it, sleek and dark.

a bullet casing, nestled in the curve of your palm, warmed by the heat of his pockets.

a coin, foreign and old, stamped with a face neither of you recognize.

tiny gifts, placed in your space, your hands, your life— things that do not belong to you, and yet, somehow, do.

OVERANALYSIS OF THE BURNING SPICE UPDATE TRAILER BECAUSE YOU KNOW I HAVE TO

we open up like this. pretty ominous words ... and you wonder which one is the demon and which is the god. burning spice and golden cheese seem to be very similar, possibly the most parallels that one could draw from the ancients and their respective beasts.

And then we get this shot. Obviously it's showing the soul jam, but there are also some things behind it. One resembles a snake ... APOPHIS ANYONE? this has THE most Egyptian mythology symbolism ever. if golden cheese represents ra, which makes one hundred percent sense considering her kingdom and wealth and radiance and all that, and the fact that she resembles a falcon, then the snake on this wall HAS to represent apophis. it can't not. heck, in some versions of the story apophis was A FORMER SUN GOD. like crk def knows what they're doing.

there's also this tiger character ... nutmeg tiger I'm pretty sure? something like that. they seem to be under the influence of burning spice, as well as all the creatures around them. they seem to be at a higher "position" than all these other guys, though. maybe a willing host?

and there is this. this is really interesting. the fact that Golden Cheese is the one to say this is very intriguing. as far as we knew, the ancients had no knowledge that the beasts even existed until pure vanilla's trip. he wrote the letter to dark cacao, and it was all "you won't believe this - but the place called BEAST-yeast has BEASTS in it!!!" and dark cacao was equally surprised. they didn't know. they thought they were the first ever wielders of the soul jam. but golden cheese ... seems to know a bit more than she lets on to the rest of the group. and a bit more than us. what the heck is the spice swarm?

also, the return (and release) of smoked cheese!! man I missed this guy. he seems to be working with golden cheese in this shot, but then what was his little deal at the end of the first teaser about? it does make sense, though, that he would try to at least be against burning spice - his entire goal is to get the soul jam because he thinks the current wielders aren't worthy - but to me it seems like he might have his own third side in this battle. he'll probably convince both sides he's working with them, knowing this dude. he wants the power of abundance and destruction, a second half he knew nothing about, the ability to make a change in the kingdoms and the lives of everyone in them.

and these two images are probably the most interesting of them all. they seem to be part of some sort of ancient papyrus or prophecy or something like that. golden cheese is yelling about the "great destroyer." could it be possible he was some sort of legend in their kingdom, a prophecy just waiting to unfold? could golden cheese have known about this threat since the beginning? could the beasts' corruption have been inevitable from the start, written in the stars ... and could the witches have known about it?

I've been thinking about watching TFP connected shows on and off.. maybe I'll give them a go after I finish Prime..? But aaaa idk.. not having Bulk, Miko and Ratchet around would be such a bummer 😭💔💔

The general idea for that webcomic was that it all takes place inside the broken mind of a comatose girl. (This cliché plot is what made me drop it rather quick) But anyways- so all the characters in this world are based on things in her real life.

The clown character is meant to be apart of a species of clowns. They're shapeshifters of sorts. And the shadowy figure is his true form/a beast that he can transform into if needed. This clown character is supposed to be her minds version of her dad. Someone one who always made her laugh and was very friendly. But was also very capable of protecting her.

Now the owl... I was thinking that one night before she fell into her coma.. she saw a barn owl outside her bedroom window. But due to the surrounding darkness, she could only see its head. She ended up feeling like/imagining that all the darkness out there around it was its body.

So now in her dream scape, this black shapeshifting beast stalks the group from afar. Contorting its body into various shadowy bugs and furry creatures. But always keeping its owl face...

He only knows as much as I do, So unfortunately I'd say no 😅 I'm unfamiliar with Skeletor. But Papyrus on the other hand...👀

Some characters will stay evil and will have no redemption. For example Silas, Airachnid and Megatron will see no redemption. And I cant see any world where TFP Soundwave would work with the Autobots.. same thing with Starscream and his brothers.

As for most of those dramatic battles and moments, most of it will be remedied by "they actually survived the fight and got a second chance."😅

My favorite bot character is Ratchet :)) but Bulkhead is a very close second. I just cant help but love the grumpy old bot. He pretends to not like the kids and be annoyed by the others antics. But the truth is his spark is full of nothing but love and dedication to his team. And he would give up everything he is/has to protect any of them. 🧡

My favorite human characterrr..... well, usually its Miko, but only when she's being really sweet/cute with Bulkhead. "I'll never forget you.." "I wanna be just like you Bulk!" "I cant Bulk, I gotta get you outa here!" "We cant leave Bulkhead! "(Run Miko!) Miko's brow frows and she tears up"

But aside from those moments she can get on my nerves sometimes <XD So for that reason I think Jack is my favorite human character. He never gets on my nerves and I like how much he's matured over the series.

Now favorite duo... ooo that's a good question. It'll have to beeee... uhhh.. man. Its a tough pick. I like Ratchet and Optimus, Bulkhead and Wheeljack are always fun.. but man, Bulkhead and Miko just hits different.

Arcee: "A scout must be silent but deadly" (Miko and Bulk both snicker and laugh). "That's my girl!" "I'm never leaving your side again.." The two of them together just makes my heart swell 😭💞💞

Yeah I was surprised that "Orion" wasn't more shocked and devastated at being told that his dear friend Ratchet and him were at war. And for this long..

I wish we had a moment where Ratchet got to explain everything to him. Or better yet- can you imagine if Orion was told all this horrible stuff about Ratchet, and then somehow he has a brief encounter with Ratchet? Maybe he was on the battle field and saw Ratchet in the distance, gingerly helping Bee to his feet.

Then they lock optics, and Ratchet looks devastated. His optics are full of worry and sorrow. The way he protectively shields Bee from gunfire.. he just cant see the blood thirst war criminal that Megatron described.

Maybe after that he would start to really become suspicious of Megatron and start to figure things out..

Some of this is a bit untidy and disorganized in terms of thinking because I literally brainstormed it - You can make of it what you will, some of these things might lead to other conclusions or ideas and not exclusively Shadowsugar but may be more associated with the respective characters

VERY LONG READ AHEAD!!!

I just wanted to brainstorm about more Shadowsugar theories and the mentions of an ouroboros/two-headed snakes/general symbolism relating to the cycle of life I already cleared up that there is no cycle in Eternal Sugar's garden because the goal is to be stagnant and sloth is inherently stagnant, and there are not many things that imply a cycle - her "Eternal" refers to basically eternal stagnation and not like an eternal cycle which is what the ouroboros and the two-headed snake represents So a while back I connected them with a few things:

- Hermes and Aphrodite - Persephone and Hades - The cycle of life, life and death, the ouroboros

I wanted to look more into the Hermes and Aphrodite things, I mean I already figured that Persephone and Hades together were also associated with the cycle of life and whatnot

In Greek mythology (although this is actually Greco-egyptian), the ouroboros is also associated with Hermes, but in a different way - it's called Hermeticism which is based off of the writings of Hermes Trismegistus which is a blend of Hermes and Thoth

I already pointed out the similarities of Hermes and Shadow Milk, but I'll talk about them again anyway:

Hermes is considered the "divine trickster" and is well-known for his mischief and tricks

Hermes was a shapeshifter

Can easily shift or move between both the mortal and divine realms

Associated with animals like the ram

In some portrayals, he has a jester-like hat, too

Now he also has a few similarities with Thoth, although particularly pre-corruption:

Thoth is the god of knowledge, magic, art and wisdom

Thoth is strongly associated with the moon (particularly the cresent moon) and scrolls (in fact, I'm pretty sure he apparently invented papyrus scrolls and hieroglyphs)

Shadow Milk's hair is actually shaped like cresent moons

Basically, Hermeticism is directly associated with the ouroboros / or I'm pretty sure Hermeticism adopted the ouroboros as one of their symbols

(you can see this in the second image that displays an ouroboros)

So maybe Shadow Milk was actually more associated with Hermes than I thought in this theory. I didn't think of it much initially

Aphrodite and Hermes had a child called Hermaphroditus, which became the origin of Hermaphroditism because he was a Hermaphodite (if it wasn't obvious enough by the name)

Now, I think this is not a child that Eternal Sugar cookie and Shadow Milk supposedly had if they are Hermes and Aphrodite but another thing that represents or symbolizes a cycle/or opposing ends In Hermeticism/Alchemy, this is called a "Rebis" and is born from the sacred marriage of opposites - it represents masculine and feminine, life and death, the sun and the moon - in other words, a cycle / duality Design-wise, and in many manners, Shadow Milk and Eternal sugar are opposites and probably even more-so pre-corruption. Eternal Sugar is white and pink and Shadow Milk is blue and black which is the prime aspects of their designs (as simple as it sounds, design contributes highly to the telling of a character and your subconscious, another example is Pure Vanilla being yellow and white and Shadow Milk being blue and black, telling that they too are opposites)

Technically speaking, happiness is kind of the opposite of knowledge because it's blissful and emotional, meanwhile knowledge is more logical and reliant on reality.. Knowledge can either be incredibly destructive and painful to happiness or contribute to it much like any other opposite

Now, this is stretchy, but I also often see Eternal Sugar with sun-like or light motifs surrounding her

I mean, it could easily be a halo, though...

But another reason I feel like it could be a sun is because the pink sun/pink rays is associated with the archangel Chamuel, who was associated with love, peace and happiness and is often portrayed wearing a heart and surrounded in pink (because pink is his color) and also really often portrayed being around a cupid (stereotypically)

Shadow Milk is often associated with the moon (and particularly dark moon magic) and darkness , although funnily enough, he's really often seen with both the sun and the moon

Also the sinking sun is interesting to note.. Maybe I'm wrong and he could actually be both the sun and the moon here, especially since he's seen holding light in his gacha (and also note the dark moon magic logo, the sun and the moon)

It could actually just be representing Shadow Milk's control over dark magic and white magic (because there's also a white magic logo right there)

Maybe he's actually the rebis, at the end of the day? lolol

So this one I don't know what to make of, these things might be more related to Smilk than the latter

Although out of the sun and the moon I think Shadow Milk represents the moon the most, especially since he's around rabbits a lot which could mean other things but in Eastern Asian folklore it's because a rabbit lives on the moon and that rabbits are associated with the moon - Also his design is just really moonlike in a lot of manners and has so much moon symbolism overall

and he lives on the dark side of the moon, I think..

So what I was just theorizing is, pre-corruption, Shadow Milk and Eternal Sugar had very much to do with the cycle of something relating to cookiekind, which is why they are so closely tied - Judging by what Shadow Milk told her in both the KR and EN version, I think Shadow Milk and Eternal Sugar's separation (in any manner) both somehow contributed to their corruptions and the rest as well as the chaos (because obviously without a cycle there is chaos, let alone if they were one of the biggest contributors to a cycle) that cycle in which Burning Spice cookie was fighting for - I think Shadow Milk and Eternal Sugar might've really been the "Purelily of the group" so to speak

So some might think that this "opposites" thing might tie more directly to Shadow Milk and Pure Vanilla, but the truth is, yes you would actually be right. Considering this theory, despite having broken off from his initial opposite and contributing to the end of a cycle, Shadow Milk still winds up gravitating towards Pure Vanilla more affectionately who is too, his opposite... For there to be balance there must be a sun and a moon

I think all of this also ties with how I believed Eternal Sugar to have her connections with PV and White Lily much like Shadow Milk has his connections with PV and White lily and vice versa , Pure Vanilla and Eternal Sugar are basically Shadow Milk's opposite

White Lily cookie could, too, be Pure Vanilla's moon IN A WAY because

literally "Moonflower queen/faerie"

"One glance at the Queen bathed in bright moonlight will bewitch anyone, body and soul."

Usually reliant on colder colors , especially in her assets and backgrounds and generally herself , tends to radiate and generate moonlight rather than sunlight

She literally does get stuck in a moonstone (I'm not being serious on this one lolol)

Lilies are sometimes associated with the moon and the phases of the moon / but honestly generally just white flowers in general are associated with the moon

Her general association with silver which is directly correlated to the moon

Dark Enchantress cookie for White Lily is, in a way, kind of like the dark side of the moon but also "According to Mesopotamians and Incas, the blood moon symbolizes the death and the downfall of the king" + Blood moons are also generally associated with bad omens and evil

The first riddle in Spire of Shadows, the sun and the moon is referring to Pure Vanilla and White Lily

mon... I think two suns and two moons mean something too, but I'm too sleepy to look into this further

I also remember when @/sylvieserene made some connections between PV and ES;

--- Oh yes, on an unrelated note, but it's often thought that if Eros was the child of Aphrodite and Ares, this would probably imply something like Eternal Sugar was actually with Silent Salt (Because out of all of the beasts that could be Ares, it would 100% be Silent Salt) but you see...

No one actually knows who was Eros' father, it's only believed that Eros might be the child of Ares only because Aphrodite was with him primarily for a while, but the reason why Eros was thought to maybe be the child of Hermes is because he looked and behaved like Hermes more than he did of Ares ... Hermes was winged and mischievous , Hermes invented the lyre and Eros was often with a lyre, in Roman mythology, Eros was written as the child of Hermes In this case, that would be accurate because Pavlova is made of sugar, cream and berries and is also to an extent a trickster. Now I'll never be 100% sure about this theory, I think I did write about it before. The idea that Black Sapphire cookie, Candy Apple cookie, Pavlova cookie are their children will always be a teeny bit of a stretch for me but it's fun to think about. It would be mythologically accurate to some extent But also it could be likely that Pavlova is the child of no one's, because in Hesiod’s Theogony (prior to traditional/more modern Greek mythology) Eros is born out of chaos rather than family

As someone who is very much into (indie and niche) fragrance and Pirates of the Caribbean, here are my scent picks for some characters absolutely nobody asked for:

Elizabeth Swann: Juliette Has A Gun - Vanilla Vibes (Sea salt, natural vanilla absolute, orchid absolute, absolute brown musk, bezoin absolute, sandalwood, tonka bean)

This is basically just a salty vanilla perfume and I’m all here for it; it’s beachy, light and totally pre-Pirate King Elizabeth.

For more of an indie choice, I’d pick Death & Floral’s “I could never stay long enough on the shore” (sand, salty air, smoke, cold coastline). It’s been a while since I’ve smelled this one but it feels fitting. But tbh, any white floral scent would also fit CotBP Elizabeth - so maybe something like Cloon Keen’s Lá Bealtaine.

Pirate King Elizabeth would absolutely rock something challenging like Beaufort’s Terror & Magnificence (birch tar, black pepper, saffron, incense, tobacco, papyrus, haitian vetiver, myrrh, labdanum, benzoin and pebbles).

Will Turner: Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab - Asleep in the Deep (black plum, sea salt, opium tar accord, labdanum, and indigo benzoin)

Basically the dark and heavy counterpart to Elizabeth’s Vanilla Vibes, truly smells like you’re on the Dutchman in between realms.

Jack Sparrow: For Jack, I feel like anything remotely boozy with rum notes works, but if I had to name one scent, I’d pick Stranger Perfumery’s Cigar Rum (raisin, dried fruits (prune and cherry), rum absolute, mandarin, amber, tobacco, oakwood, vetiver, resins, labdanum absolute, seaweed absolute). Maybe layer that with a dirt single note or Fantôme - Bune (damp subterranean air, nagarmotha, smooth cave walls, davana, a cold marble altar, & glittering green dragon scales) for authenticity lol.

Hector Barbossa: Solstice Scents - Headmaster (Apple, bourbon, oak, cedar, pipe tobacco, applewood, amber, spices)

I just felt like I needed to pick a spicy, woody scent with apple notes in it. But any dark aquatic works too.

James Norrington: I associate James with any light aquatic or clean scents (at least when he’s not in his Scruffington Era), so I’d choose something like Solstice Scent’s Gulf Breeze (Saltwater, sand, seashells, sea oats, rain, ambergris (vegan accord).

Cutler Beckett: Histoires de Parfums - 1740 (bergamot, mugwort, patchouli, coriander, cardamom, cedar, birch, labdanum, leather, vanilla, elemi, helichrysum)

Idk, this is just giving off Cutler Beckett energy. It’s boozy, it’s rich, it’s dramatic.

And somehow The House on Widow’s Hill (brandy, old oak paneling, dusty thick carpets, a thread of incense & a roaring fire in the hearth) by Pulp Fragrance also fits. That one’s basically brandy, smoke and dusty carpets in a bottle. On second thought, that might also work for Papa Swann.

I also feel like a tea scent would suit Beckett, but only if it’s a bit heavier, so maybe something like Gris Charnel by bdk (fig, black tea, cardamom essence, iris absolute, bourbon vetiver, indian sandalwood, tonka bean absolute). …But I haven’t smelled that one in a while too.

Davy Jones: Zoologist - Squid (Pink Pepper, Solar Salicylate, Incense, Black Ink Accord, Salty Accord, Opoponax, Ambergris, Benzoin, Musk)

Pretty self-explanatory. On my skin, it’s very musk-forward though.

Ian Mercer: Beaufort - Tonnerre (smoke, gunpowder, blood, brandy, sea spray and citrus)

…Yeah, I guess that one’s also pretty self-explanatory.

Yup, that’s it. Make of that what you will.
