Chappell Roan, a lesbian, went on a national broadcast tonight and performed a song about dating a closeted woman who refuses to acknowledge their relationship and denies the fact that she’s a lesbian. Never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined that happening but here we are and it’s amazing.

As a lesbian woman, to have an artist go out and be so entirely herself in every way, to be so proud of her own sexuality and to perform a song like this and have it be broadcasted to millions of people…it makes me so emotional. All I have ever wanted as a queer woman is to have this sort of unabashed representation and we’re finally getting it in such an incredible way. What an era we are living in and all I can say is long may it continue and I am so proud to be a Chappell Roan fan.

What do you mean they fight more often than not now? That Bruce actually kicked him out and fired him and Dick still grew up to be the man that he is despite that. Thinking about how Leo says he uses his jokes to cope and y’know, thinking harder on it I think it may very well be because of what else uses one-liners and puns and that type of humor.

Specifically, 80’s action movies and campy sci-fi. Even more specifically, the protagonists of these.

So I can imagine why, exactly, Leo leans toward this brand of humor. It’s directly linked to things he loves! But even more than that is why I think it’s used as a coping mechanism.

In these genres, these quips tend to be said by the winner - or, if not a winner, then someone who will stay alive. So there’s a confidence behind them, an assurance, almost, that even if things go wrong, things aren’t ever too serious. There’s no bad endings here! It’s all good fun, even if the stakes seem high.

Leo canonically has been known to steer his brothers away from the more brutal villains and toward more fun, lighthearted activities and not-so-dangerous criminals. So for Leo, these jokes definitely make things less heavy, make the situations they find themselves in less intense.

It’s kinda not just coping, but also can be seen as a form of escapism. A safety blanket. A way for Leo to defuse the tension of knowing just how dangerous their lives are and replace that with a levity which implies that things will be okay.

Unfortunately, levity alone does not alter reality.

Before pjotv, you’d barely see any non-white girls playing Annabeth in the tlt musical productions but now it’s the norm and it just makes me so happy that those little girls are getting their chance to shine in their school musicals.

Going by your prior first paragraph (thanks for answering), it implies there could be Necroknights made of different Rose colours but it's not done because Black is seen as the best choice for such a process. (Also, vampire kangaroo?? That is a weird visual.) But anyway, onto something different.

My question is about the cast, and more specifically, their motives. We already know bits and pieces about why they're there (mostly) and are odd enough for Mort's team. But like, why do some of them want to be knights in the first place? We know Jim was sort of forced into it and Lapis chose to put herself there (like an idiot, even with good intentions). But what of the rest and their reasons? Were they pressured by their society / family? A personal choice? Conscription? The reasons probably differ for each person, honestly.

But mostly, I am very curious about Morgan's motive to break tradition and become a White Rose Knight despite such a thing not happening for centuries. I presume he may want to prove something? That would be my guess, to an extent. Have a good rest of your day! ☆

Sure, I'm gonna be saving most of the nitty-gritty details for the official RK comic, but I think it is very fair to share why some of the others became knights... or why they are trying to become knights despite the expectations of society >:3 For Bristly, it's a simple combination of conscription and spite. He's riding out the drills and training to prove a point. George's reasoning is much more personal and infinitely more petty. If he can't prove he's got strength by Dragon standards, he'll become strong by Rose standards instead! Barbara become a knight of her own free-will (she thinks it'll make her look cool XD) Tara wants to become a Knight so bad it's not even funny. What a shame her family have decided to bench her "for her own safety" since they discovered she was sick with rot. Rodgeric has also been blocked from becoming a knight, but that doesn't stop him from trying to follow their dreams of proving they are not the delicate flower everyone believes him to be

And Morgan? *inhale* YEAH, it's mostly an attempt to break the stereotypes White's have been suffering for way too long. amongst other reasons And fortunately for him, he's living in a time where the crown Rose prince is publicly unashamed of being White, and the Rose Queen has been making a lot of effort to get White Roses "more included" in all areas of society. Honestly tho, if Morgan had been any color except white? I don't think he would've wanted to become a knight. Not his speed, not his style, not his cup of tea in any flavor. But hey, you do what you can to gain some control over your own life, right?

i don’t think rhyme’s relationship to her gender identity is particularly important to the larger picture of twewy, but i do think beat’s perception of her as a girl, as his younger sister, is very very important. cause masculinity as equal to strength is important to beat, and it explains a lot of his relationship to rhyme. rhyme protecting beat, her kindness when they were alive, succeeding at pushing him out of the way in the same way beat failed, it’s an indignity. rhyme, a young girl, his family, then his partner in the Game, like every category of ‘what a man should protect’, is stronger than beat. beat fails to protect her time and time again. and he resents that. that he’s so weak. that she had to protect him.

lady hasn't appeared publicly yet back in 1985 and was observing everything from the shining time world. she did turn alfred into a ghost, after all, and held some sort of attachment to the people she imbued with the gold dust. in the end though she believed that alfred being sent back to the shining time world is justice. it was the younger rws trio (more like edward since he's a gold dust patron like alfred) that exorcised him. since alfred masqueraded as a human but had no known relatives the railway held a small funeral for him. nobody knew what to say during the eulogy since he was so esoteric. but like the deeply condescending kind. gordon thought it was the worst funeral he's ever attended
