So I have just finished Son of Sea Foam, I'm not sure if you know the fanfic but its wonderful, and I'm now wondering how would Poseidon specially but the greeks in general react to Percy's life in this au where he (she) has to pretend to be a daughter of Aphrodite because children of the big three are considered too dangerous and are killed (also Hercules reaction please I'm begging you)

(i've never read that fic so i might get the details wrong, sorry!)

there is NOTHING pjo!poseidon can do that would make ror!poseidon approve or like him in ANY way. pjo!poseidon's decision to work together with aphrodite to hide percy's true parentage is smart and also shows how much he cares for her, but to ror!poseidon it's an act of cowardice 😭

he'd be like how DARE you lie about MY daughter's parentage and have her be the daughter of that stupid goddess!!!!!! IF YOU DON'T WANT ZEUS TO KILL PERCY, THEN JUST KILL HIM BEFORE HE CAN TRY 🙄

even telling him that gods can't die in the pjo verse wouldn't work, or that waging war is NOT a good idea because percy also wouldn't want that and demigods would be sucked into it, etc. ror!poseidon would just say some bs like "who cares about demigods or what percy thinks, she's just a child anyway, she shouldn't have a say in the matter. YOU have a duty as a father to kill everyone for her 😠🔱"

even ror!hades, zeus, and adamas would be saying the same thing 😭 ror!hades would be more sympathetic, he can see that pjo!poseidon is really trying here and understand the logic, but he's also aware that this plan won't last forever and percy's life WILL be in danger once the truth comes out. in his eyes, pjo!poseidon should take the chance to take zeus out of the equation while he's still ignorant

meanwhile adamas and zeus would just want an all-out war 💀 they don't care about the pjo!gods, the demigods, the humans, they don't care about the lives that are going to be ruined, they don't care about percy's opinion, they want a war because how DARE pjo!zeus try to kill their niece! (they plan on snatching percy back to their universe when everyone's distracted by the war lol)

heracles would be horrified!!!!! his alternate father would kill an innocent child all because of some oath that HE broke first by siring thalia?! in ror verse he's known as the "envoy of justice (idk if he'd be a god of justice too, but i think i'll make him one in my fic)" so this just blows his mind 💀 he would sympathize a lot more with pjo!poseidon and see his plan as smart, but like hades, he worries about how long it would last. he also understands why they would want to avoid a war and agrees with that. he feels that it would be safer for percy to just stay with them... but he also doesn't want to separate her from her og family... poor man doesn't know what to do, he just feels awful that this is happening in the first place 🥺

"Go the Distance" from Hercules came on while I was listening to one of my Spotify playlists and I was OVERCOME with a feeling of "Charles Charles Charles oh my fucking GOD Charles Rowland!!!!"

So long story short, I've added a Dead Boy Detectives Gods AU to my to-do list!!!!!!!! I think it would be perfect if I could have it ready by GeekedWeek AHHHH!!!!

It wouldn't be based on Percy Jackson or Hercules or anything specific like that - literally just my own story, my nerd ass playing fast and loose with Greek gods in a modern-day setting with our beloved core-4 at the center of a huge, seemingly impossible task that they can only conquer together. Idk man I'm so into this idea right now I'm literally pacing the room!!!!! Would anyone even want to read this?!

Payneland included of course. They fall in love in every universe, after all. (Probably Palasaki too because I LOVE them. ALSO other characters would make appearances, too! Not just the core-4!)

I present my Posally aus and headcannons. Enjoy =D

Sally going to Olympus, or going to someplace where both Zeus and Poseidon are present in the same place, and the two brothers get into an argument. It goes live on HephaestusTV, for the channel ‘Two idiots attempt to insult each other’(The name is a work in progress). Sally gets tired after some time of it, grabs Poseidon by the ear in the middle of the argument, right when they’re at each other’s throats, and drags him away, and he does nothing to stop her. The other gods are beyond shocked and confused at how much Sally has the most powerful god wrapped around her finger. 

“Who’s Sally Jackson???” 

“Just the most powerful woman in the world who also happens to be a mortal.”

Sally showing Poseidon all the mortal things, like restaurants, dancing, parties, movies, making food, etc. Poseidon spends most of his time in the ocean, and he’s surprised and new to all of this. He’s a little self conscious about it, but he allows Sally to show him everything, and he makes mistakes pretty much every time. But he doesn’t get frustrated too often, because he has a love of his life, soothing him and urging him to try again. 

Poseidon is sleeping(for/with Sally because gods don’t need sleep) and suddenly wakes up from a nightmare from past trauma about being eaten by his father. He immediately tries to act tough. Sally assures him that she is not his family, and he doesn’t need to hide his himself from her. She pulls him into a tender hug and Poseidon lets himself cry/be weak in front of her

“Gods don’t get therapy, Percy. The truth is that there’s a lot of screwed up things happening in their lifetime and they’re just expected to move on and forget about it without help. But as you know, sometimes it can be hard to get away from trauma.” “Even for the gods?” 

“Even for gods.”

Poseidon realizing he’s in desperately in love as he watches Sally light up into someone for littering and leaving their trash all over the beach. As a king whose subjects are being killed by plastic, whose ichor is laced with oil due to his form representing the state of his domain, he appreciates seeing someone who protects the sea when he cannot 

Sally loved to steal Poseidons shirt. He has like, only one or two, and Sally often steals them all. So he tried stealing one of Sally’s shirts, and it was too small on him. He realized this too late and he’s trying to take it off without breaking it. This is when Sally comes in the room, who promptly starts laughing her head off. Poseidon turns red and eventually realizes (because he’s a himbo and we love him for it) that he can just teleport away to a different part of the room, and he does, and the shirt falls to the floor. He waits for her to stop laughing, and just stands there, shirtless, tapping his foot every now and again, looking like a red tomato with a pout. She looks up after gaining control of herself for a moment, and sees his face, then immediately breaks into another fit, knowing that she was the only few who he’d let laugh at him like this

“…. You done?” 

“… No🤣”

Percy is a pet dog that Sally got for her and Poseidon who Poseidon makes immortal. There is no forbidden child, Poseidon doesn’t have to leave because he can split his conscience without others noticing, and also there’s no rules against having relationships, just the kids. They live happily together because is that too much to ask for? (At least until Sally dies if she still decides to not join him. But I think she would in this au)

Poseidon comes to visit Sally every now and again when Percy is at school or at camp. They’ll watch movies together, cuddled up on the coach, with Sally already having seen most of them, but willing to watch them again, and with Poseidon enthralled and entertained by all the shows he hasn’t seen yet. He died on the inside when he saw Disney’s’ Hercules. 

“Poseidon? What’s wrong?”

“… literally EVERYTHING is backwards…”

Poseidon taught Sally how to defend herself, even sometimes letting her use his trident since as a mortal, she can’t unleash the power within it.

A non-comprehensive- and better- list of names containing the root word Leo that are better than what the wiki says for Leo Valdez. Because Leonidas is stupid. (no offense[full offense]) (my credentials: i have over 56 percy jackson/heroes of olympus wips and am chronically allergic to using the same name for leo more than a few times. plus leo is my oc)

-Leonidas. The og, the one that everyone seems to think is the canon name. If it was, why didn't Hera or a monster or Gaea never call him it? Anyway, the first Leonidas was a king of Sparta and claimed to be related to Hercules. The modern Leonidas is a chocolate brand.

-Leoni. Just means lioness. It's a female name (a few on this list are) but it still gets the job done of being a longer Leo name but still unique.

-Leocadius. Bright, shining. If you're looking for something vaguely greek-y, this is usually what I go for ngl. Sounds cooler than Leonidas anyway.

-Galileo. Famous inventor/astronomer. Also the only name on this list that doesn't start with Leo, but instead has the name at the end. Does this ruin the lion motif? Maybe! Do I care? No!

-Leora. Compassion, light. Also a more female leaning name, but look me in the eyes and tell me you won't write trans Leo with him just making his birth name more masc, you won't. Or transfemme Leo lengthening her name to Leora.

-León. Meaning lion. Spanish/French/Italian origins. There's a guy on TikTok that calls Leo León exclusively instead of Leonidas. I've had him blocked for months cause I don't like his content but he did have a valid point not calling Leo Leonidas.

-Leota. 'Of the people.' German roots and origins. (I'm actually using this for an au rn where Leo's an oracle/seer lol. Cause, cause... get it? Nevermind.)

-Leonardo. Another famous inventor/astronomer. Need I say more? Also don't tell me Esperanza wouldn't name her baby after an inventor.

-Leonora. Another name meaning light/brightness. You'll notice that Leo can either mean lion/lioness or light. Which I think is fitting for someone who burns so brightly as Leo Valdez.

I must say your Jaune is Hades au has peaked my interest to the max. After rereading my favorite manga Record of Ragnarok, which probably has my favorite iteration of Hades, for the 100th time I was wondering, is this jaune based off any kind of iteration of Hades, or does he follow the actual Greek mythology of Hades. If so, how much of the mythology stories does he follow? Like does Jaune ever use a bident, did he ever get married to Persephone in this au, are there other Greek gods? Then there are questions like was he properly born into the Arc family or did he just make up the whole persona. Many questions for a fascinating au looking forward to more.

So, real talk. I LOVE Greek mythology, and Hades is one of, if not my most favorite of the Greek Pantheon. I feel like each iteration I've met has entertained me in some way or the other.

Be it as an antagonist in Hercules

Or as a sympathetic final boss in his own titular series,

It's kind of sad how he's always seen as the bad guy when his brothers have done so much worse than he has.

But I digress.

As for Jaune's role as Hades, I wouldn't say I based him on any of the previous iterations, and more just made him into his own god of the dead and the underworld. He's in charge of taking care of souls when they die and guide them to where they need to go. He's a lesser god compared to The Brothers, which is something I headcanoned for The God of Animals.

Thus far the only comparison I can make to Jaune and any Hades is that he sits on a dark throne in a dark cavern, has blue fire, and views his job as the most important and necessary thing in the world.

So far, there's no bident, and he uses, well, a sword that looks similar to Crocea Mors, though I can't say for certain now if it is the one and the same sword and shield of the Arc family.

Also, there's no Persephone. Being a god may make you a heartthrob to all of creation, but unfortunately, any potential love interest he holds won't last forever. He is to be a king without his queen. Forever alone...

Thus far, there are only four gods in this RWBY universe; the major gods, The Brothers, and the lesser gods, Jaune and the God of Animals. I'm thinking of following a Percy Jackson role for the latter, where they're a fading relic that grow weaker with every prayer that isn't made. In other words, there are those who still worship Jaune, but perhaps one day, his power, too, will fade until he is nothing more than ancient history.

And as for the Arc family, I'll just come straight out with it; I don't know. I thought of maybe making his sisters into lesser gods as well, with Saphron making her decision to become a mother with Terra. I thought of Jaune always existing since the Age of Magic and he's just always been there. To be honest, I'm not really sure what to do with his family. Maybe the answer will come to me at a much later time.

My 2022 summary of art! 🙌 I could not decide to single out any one drawing in November, it was two challenges at once (cowboyvember and comfortember) and Aladdin's 30th anniversary!

It's been a difficult year and not an easy one...

But let me briefly describe my emotions and feelings that I experienced every month while drawing!

I made a drawing-questionnaire of my character back in October 2021. Her name is Taisiya and she is from my humble Hercules au (next post about it, apparently)

March

Those of you who have read the short story about Jasmine's birthday ball that I posted earlier know what I'm talking about. I just love them! This plot (about the birthday) was already realized closer to May, and during March I had one big plot in my head, in which I mixed Anastasia of 1997, Encanto and all this in Aladdin.

I still don’t have snow, but the festive atmosphere was created by tumblr and the people from discord. Our secret Santa, Christmas bingo cards, Christmas itself - everything was so cool!!! I thank them very much❤️

I've been watching some Greek Mythology AMVs (mostly around some Live-Action Fancasts) on YouTube and even listening to some Music from some Other Greek Mythology themed media. And then this instantly hit Me; since SpongeBob has its own version of Myths and Cultures in its own Unique Comedy way, why not have some of its own versions of one of the Water Deities from Mythology into the Greek Mythology Animated Music Video spotlight? I've seen that a lot of Greco-Roman Mythology fans done those (like with Lore Olympus, Hadestown, Percy Jackson, Destripando la Historia, God of War, you know those other kinds). So since the Franchise has its own personal take with the use of Neptune and Poseidon as separate people ruling the Seas as Different Kings, I figure why not draw something special again with a little drawing based on one of the most popular Greek Mythology Adaptations that is Disney's take on "Hercules" (though, it's "Heracles" in Greek). I was listening to one of its songs that is the very popular love song from Disney, "I Won't Say I'm In Love". Considering that Poseidon is a Water Deity from Greek Mythology, this song got Me hook into thinking of Poseidon and Salacia (My Take on Her) with some Mythology-inspired-media songs including this one of course.😉 Anyway, in my very own personal take on Salacia, she was aware at Poseidon first when they first met until when the Two somehow got to know each other as well as getting together and stuff before their Marriage. Considering that Poseidon has a crush on Salacia, Salacia is now somehow starting to have a crush on Him back (since she did thought of himself as Handsome but also quite a Hilarious yet Charming King I should say🤭). Poseidon doesn't know it yet but soon when he will learn his regrets, Salacia will have to confess the truth to admit that she does love him deep down (it's a Romantic Shot, I know😜). The Song, "I Won't Say I'm In Love" from Disney's Hercules really fits perfect for Salacia's feelings regards towards Poseidon in my own SpongeBob AU. It's a shame that there aren't any PoseidonXOC Ships in the Fandom (same goes for some DJ OctavioXOC Ships in the Splatoon Fandom). Hercules Alcides an original character interpretation from Greek mythology. His portrayal is a mix of various film and book lore, but is largely based in headcanon and original backstory. As the bastard child of Zeus, he was raised by his human parents, and Hera (not Hades) is typically the main villain of his story. In general, I do not pull much from the Disney movie, although I'm happy to write with those muses. I also don't pull any of his characterization from Percy Jackson, but since that world blends easily with most of Herc's verses, he typically considers other demigods to be like family (half-siblings, cousins, etc.). All details vary based on verse, and I'm happy to write him into crossovers or AUs.

storyverse: Any events that take place in Ancient Greece, where Hercules is completing the trials and trying to prove himself a hero.

immortal gods: After the deaths of his family, Hercules recovers from his madness and spends decades alone on an island, where he struggles to come to terms with his guilt and his immortality. When he emerges, his story has become a legend told and retold across history. No longer wanting the fame, he takes lowkey jobs where he can help people without drawing attention to himself.
