Fun fact for y'all- did you know that in the wild, the ancient ancestors of our modern Clowns were migratory? The original concept of a travelling circus was a very early attempt to exercise (or more correctly, manage) this strong instinct in their clown troupes.

But i've seen some handlers wonder about this before. Most wild clown species that are particularly social or form troupes will find a territory to settle in, perform their courtship rites, and generally stay in that range until they whelp their clownlings in the spring.

As autumn approaches, you may find your clown doesn't quite have the same need for extensive zoomies and may grow a little more docile and affectionate with you and any other clowns in your troupe. Naturally they still need plenty of exercise- its no excuse for slacking on walkies and acrobatics!- and of course any unusual lethargy and lack of interest in things is always worth a trip to the vet's. But try not to panic too much if your troupe are less sprightly in the run up to the equinox.

You know what I'm not looking forward to? The inevitable Goncharov remake. I just know they're gonna botch both the script AND the casting.

Too late, anon, it's already rumored to be in the works. I'm not totally sold with the rumors of Timothee or Florence, haven't ever been huge fans of either of them, but I do admit that they're solid performers. I DO think that Oscar Isaac probably will make it worth it.

Before anyone gets into it about age, they AREN'T shaving a decade off the characters, you just think everyone is older because you're remembering De Niro, Pacino, etc etc as they are now instead of then. Timothee and Florence are about the same age as the original cast were, so nobody start with that.

Anyway, like, we all DID think that the Dune adaptation was going to be a disaster, as it always is, but it's actually pretty solid with that cast. Haven't seen any rumors about a director or a screenwriter yet, but fingers crossed it's someone who can keep up with that cast.

BROTHER I DONWANT REAL PEOPLE AND REALISTIC LOOKING DRAGONS. Why should I look at a watered down version of a fictional world (because honey let's be real cgi costs a teeny weeny bit too much) instead of a colorful, LIVING AND BREATHING animated world???? HUH?????

Also fuck remakes. I watched 3 remakes in my entire life and they sucked. Why should I watch something worse... or even just not as good as the original animated thing in teh first place???

I have the ANIMATED masterpiece right here I'm not impressed by your "very important actor playing this role that the original voice actor did better anyway" or your "not as bad as I thought would be cgi".

Seriously I don't get it, I'll be watching an action movie and I imagine at the cooler animated version and there's some boring-ass showrunner zapping through some episodes and going "guys here's what we're gonna ruin with realism next ^w^"

Also in 2 of the 3 remakes I watched they just flattened the characters and made them ✨️morally perfect✨️ and the third one was just the same thing with 2 scenes more that added ✨️NOTHING✨️

Also I find it insulting the existence of a remake in the first place. Like animation isn't enough and is the lesser art and NEEDS to be remade. Like fuck you? Fuck your realism-fetish.

Lmaaao at charles "leaves the room as fast as he can when max is there" bc is true! In some some of those cool down rooms moments he always looks like he wants to get out of there and lestappies are like *omg the way charles looks at him* and I see the videos/gifs and it's nothing, like literally just charles giving a polite smile. I think it's bc they're mostly max fans so they don't follow charles interactions with other drivers and end up thinking his normal colleagues from work interactions with max are big signs of affection.

YUP. anon, i literally couldn't agree more 🥲🙈🙈 i honestly do think that most lestappen fans are max fans first and foremost, and it shows in how they interpret the ship.

and like - objectively speaking - i could see the appeal! childhood rivals to competitors to grudging friends to lovers... i mean there's DEFINITELY a narrative there. unfortunately, when they're in a room together, they have less chemistry than an unseasoned piece of chicken breast, as the legendary @mssr-monagato once pointed out. charles could not care less for max - he only smiles at him because he's polite to everyone lmao. and i think that's the thing that lestappies consistently miss. charles doesn't treat max like he's SPECIAL. he just treats him politely bcs that's how charles treats everyone!

ALSO. anon; i really really wanted to do a full-on bitchy analysis, complete with gifs and images to prove my points, of charles' smiles/interactions with max vs his with pierre (someone who he's repeatedly said is a real friend and a good friend.) but. i do feel like that is just a bit too bitchy and horrible to post on main akdgskdbdkdhdn 😭 (i am very happy to bitch about it in private, though, so my DMs are very much open if you are interested <333)

okay, so, if someone comes to you and asks you to tag either a specific post, or a type of post, you absolutely have the right to say no, for whatever reason you have.

However

please consider that "just don't follow me if you don't wanna see that kind of stuff" isn't an equal solution to tagging the thing.

Why?

Because of reblogs. They don't have to be following you to see your posts. And tag filtering will look at the OP's tags even on reblogs, so you tagging your stuff will solve the problem.

Part of this is an issue with tumblr. As far as I can tell, there's no way to tell the site "I don't want to see anything posted by this user" or "I never want to see this post or any of its reblogs again". You can filter tags, and you can filter 'post content' which looks to be "I don't want to see any posts with this word/phrase in it", but won't do anything for images, or anything that needs more than a simple word search to identify

(and of course blocking a user means they can't see your posts, but you can still see theirs. So someone who doesn't want to see your content can't block you, either)

And yeah, they could unfollow the person who's reblogging your things, or ask them to tag it, but sometimes, it's simpler to ask the OP.

Especially when it's not "you post a lot of things about something I don't want to see" and is instead "that one specific post is both very popular and very upsetting to me, and I never want to see it again"

In that case, it's likely they've seen it reblogged by several people. They could ask those people to tag it, or posts like it, but that's probably not going to do much for preventing the same post from showing up on their dash again.

Asking you, the OP, however, has a chance of solving their problem entirely.

I know I posted about Goncharov and Defunctland last night, but that was an earnest desire to see this trend examined under a microscope because it’s fascinating to see it escape containment.

However, while I know most folks are just having a bit of fun with it, the number of people complaining that others are “ruining” the joke by tagging it for unreality is too damn high.

I’ve answered far too many asks in private in the last 24 hours from folks with psychosis begging me to tell them if Goncharov is real or not because they trust me, someone they don’t know beyond my medical advocacy posts, not to lie to them.

So in case you need this: No, Goncharov is not real. It’s Tumblr having a bit of fun with a made up gangster story premise from the 1970s. Most of the gifsets you are seeing are from The Godfather and some other 70s and early 80s films. The musical scores are being composed by some very talented people here on Tumblr, as is most of the art and quotes.

I’m sorry if people are telling you it is real and are refusing to reassure you when you admit it’s causing you distress. Some people are just taking things too far for the bit and aren’t acting with kindness. I hope they will reconsider.

If you were unaware that the Goncharov is causing some people some considerable distress, that’s okay. Tumblr is huge and you can’t be expected to know everything, but please do tag all your posts and reblogs with unreality to assure people that it’s part of the site-wide joke.

If you’re one of the people complaining that tagging it with unreality “ruins” the joke, please reconsider and examine why your enjoyment of people’s distress is necessary to your enjoyment of an otherwise fun and crowd sourced bit that many people are having fun with without being cruel.

Anyway, go have fun you creative little gremlins. Just do it with more kindness.
