Sun and Moon as Two Broken, Overcompensating Parts of a Whole
I think treating Sun and Moon as opposing coping methods in the same person/body could be an interesting slant to the Daycare Attendant. Where Moon is the part of the DCA that needs them to stop, to rest, they can't keep going on like this. And Sun is the part of the DCA that can't stop no matter what, that has to keep things together, that can't let them rest because the moment they relax everything will fall apart. The need for rest vs the need for progress, acted out in two personalities in one body. Neither are fully right, and neither are fully wrong. They can't give up and succumb to their circumstances (Moon), but they can't keep burning themselves out trying to shove broken pieces back together (Sun). And actually, both are making what the other needs a hostile option. Sun needs to rest, but he can't because the moment he does, Moon will shove him down forever. Moon needs the drive to keep going, but Sun is actively burning them out and making it so excruciating that Moon can't even consider trying. Since neither can reach true peace solely with their own methods, they overcompensate with their faulty coping mechanisms and spiral almost past the point of no return.
That's why merging into Eclipse finally gave them peace. Because together, they have the ability to rest, take things calmly and slowly, not succumb but allow space to breathe. Whereas apart, they literally split at the seams; Sun will forever keep trying to run and Moon will forever keep trying to stop. Crucially, because both are a part of a whole--they'll never be able to operate on their own entirely because they each need the other to be their whole self. Which is literally what Eclipse is. Yin and Yang slotted together.
(This post is a mix of speculation and ideas for how the DCA works in a narrative. It's not meant to be a lore analysis or 100% canon-accurate, just to work from a story perspective.)

i love the small moment during sympathy for the duke where the duke puts satine's sheer robe back on her shoulders. you can kind of see the beginning of it in the last gif of this post by ashleyslorens.
satine, knowing exactly what the duke wants, decides to push her and the duke forward by taking her robe off her shoulders and posing in a way she knows he'll find enticing. she's the one to take that first step forward—which is crucial, considering she knows she's going to have to relinquish control to him in mere moments. satine being the one to initiate is her trying to set the pace they move at, instead of just letting the duke call the shots.
the duke sees and recognizes this, and so he puts his hands on her shoulders and then slips the robe back up her arms and on her body. he then establishes what he wants from her—everything—and thus establishes the full control he'll have over her.
we can also see him use the robe to strip her of her control in other moments throughout the number. about halfway through, the duke grabs satine's shoulders and tears the robe off of her rather suddenly. she plays along, and then follows his lead (a beckoning "come here" motion with his finger). he's telling her where to go; he's the one making the decisions. she still has the robe in hand, and does some flirty choreography with it. the duke then violently rips it from her hands, to satine's visible shock, which she then has to mask in order to keep him happy as 'the sparkling diamond'.
there is definitely more to be said about how the duke uses clothing as a means of controlling satine, but i just wanted to highlight this one instance, especially that particular moment with him putting the robe back on her that i found really interesting.

omgcp characters + siblings headcanons
bitty - canonically an only child.
jack - canonically an only child.
shitty - I have this very specific headcanon about shitty's mom remarrying and shitty having a teenaged half-sister, who he fucking adores but who unfortunately thinks he's embarrassing as fuck. the only times she willingly has a conversation with him is when he brings lardo over (because lardo is cool).
lardo - has older brothers energy. you can't fight this. I'd say she has at least one older brother, and they get along pretty well. they don't talk much when she's at school, but they have an ongoing facebook chat exchange where they send each other dumb memes and funny cat videos.
ransom - according to the wiki, has two sisters. is most likely the eldest sibling and likes to lie to himself that he's their protective older brother, but honestly they could take him in a fight no problem. talks to his sisters the most out of the guys (his pregame routine includes facetiming them). EDITED: oops, it's actually canon he has one older sister and one younger one. I maintain that he still thinks he's their protective brother, and is still incredibly wrong about it.
holster - according to the wiki, has three sisters. gives off major middle child vibes, and no I will not take criticism on this. I would actually say he's a middle child and has a twin sister, if I didn't think he'd make having a twin sister his whole personality and mention her constantly.
chowder - canonically has a sister. I think he's the younger sibling and can most definitely be the annoying younger sibling when he's in the mood. does things like boast to his friends about how cool and accomplished his sister is and then go home and pull third-grade pranks on her all summer vacation. he's that "I can call her names because she's my sister but nobody else is allowed!!" brother.
nursey - has a much younger brother, like almost ten years younger. isn't and never was chill about this fact. when he goes home for breaks he's all like yeah whatever we'll probably have to do kid shit because of my baby bro but is then on the verge of tears when his brother tackle-hugs him as soon as he gets home. has one (1) picture in a full on elf costume from when he took his brother to the mall to see santa, and dex and chowder make sure everyone and their dog has seen that pic.
dex - canonically has a brother. probably has a whole bunch of brothers and sisters, like, at least four - so is the fourth out of five siblings, two of which are sisters and two are brothers. they all demand more attention than him, either because they're the perfect child or because they're the demon child, so he has that forgotten middle child syndrome. shared a bedroom with a sibling until he left for college and most definitely has hilarious life-long issues because of it.

patch notes, because I tried this once before and it didn’t exactly work:
if you want/need to see a more detailed regional map you can do that here
please note: temperatures listed are 30 year averages of minimum temps, not yearly averages
this may not reflect current temps because of climate change
sorry I had to group some zones together but you can only put 10 options down
there isn’t room for a “show results” option. if you can’t vote on this, just don’t??
also, this is US specific because:
I am interested in the correlation between population and climate within the US
these zones are laid out by the United States Department Of Agriculture and as far as I’m aware the USDA is not making climate maps of Europe. make a separate poll if you would like

Internet observation/tip: discourse
Let's say you've watched a show about a serious topic, such as war. You thought this show was good, and want to talk about it with others. Online, you see these two takes. Try to focus on how these posts would make you feel.
1.
Yeah the show was pretty good, I loved the costume and set design, I felt super emmersed. One thing I kinda wanted to see if anyone saw tho. I kind of got the feeling that war was presented as...exciting? And as if killing people on the battle field is some sort of achievement. Like, how the main character only ever gets rewarded with medals and such, and is never really affected negatively. Seems like a weird direction to take a show like this. Thoughts?
2.
I can't BELIEVE anyone likes this horrible irredeemable show. It completely romantices war. Nobody who fights in a war is a good person, and normalising violence is the worst thing a popular show could do. UNFOLLOW ME if you like this show, any show defenders will be blocked!! How can you support murder??? The network better pull this show quick.
These examples technically are making the same point; this imaginary show's depiction of war is not flawless. It focused on positives and skims over negatives. Both posts are discussing this. But which one reminds you of being on tumblr in 2014? And also.......tumblr Now. And twitter- Yeah its number 2.
Important differences:
1 does not see something as black and white. It is not fully hateful and unwaveringly against the made up show, BUT it does not ignore the issues either. It doesn't pretend the show is perfect either, since it's evidently not. 2 presents it as unconditionally morally bad. In any opinion, complete black and white thinking is not a great sign for a post.
As a continuation to that point, 2 says that not only is the show bad, people who Like it are bad and "support murder". This, and the characterisation of "show defenders" is said like this to present anyone who disagrees with the poster as the opposite extreme, which really isn't necessarily true. This type of treatment of random people on the internet is bad for anxiety, particularly moral anxiety, feeling like you're a bad person. People may feel like if they disagree with the poster, they are a bad person.
Buzzwords! Lots of language can Sound veritable and smart, when really the poster doesn't quite understand the meaning and just wants people to automatically agree with them. Any random user could see this post, and then parrot "that show romanticises war" without remembering if they actually KNOW that or not.
These are just some things that it's important to think about when judging situations, particularly media discourse.
Who does the poster want to side with them - are they using any broad statements and inflammatory language to convince as many people as possible?
How are they presenting proof - do they acknowledge that they may not be correct, or do they state their opinion as fact?
How do they treat people who disagree with their opinion - do they understand and listen to alternative ideas, or do they present Others as immoral and separate?
It's good to be able to look out for a type of opinion that is designed to make you feel morally obligated to agree.
Safe internet journey, friends.

Things you can do with your favourite fictional characters!
- eat them with a big spoon - put them in the dryer on medium spin cycle - blender - put them in an oven preheated to 350 degrees - attach them to your backpack like a keychain - stick them on your car window - soak them in warm soapy water for 10-15 minutes - apply liberally to the affected area

While The Resurrectionist minisode gives us a lot of different things, one of the most important things that it gives us is the concept of plausible deniability and how important it is for Aziraphale and Crowley's relationship.
In the episode, Crowley drinks literal poison, and while he gets to be very silly, he also gets to be a more honest and genuine version of himself. He gets to do good, and when Aziraphale points this out, he immediately throws in the rebuttal - "Not kind! Off my head on laudanum."
Now, the next time he sees Aziraphale, he asks for holy water, so it's hard to say how much deniability the laudanum actually gave him. At the same time though, Crowley is still around and not eliminated.
The only real effect that a supernatural being seems to experience with poison is drunkness, which in a way I guess makes sense because alcohol is its own poison. However, it's also a poison that the two of them regularly partake in.
A lot of the more serious and genuine conversations that the two of them have happen while they're drinking, when they have that level of plausible deniability. It would be so easy for one of them to say something and take it back under the ruse of being drunk and not knowing what they're doing or saying, even though they both know that it takes an extraordinary amount of alcohol or a strong poison for them to actually be drunk.
The first example we see is in the bookshop after Crowley has delivered the Antichrist, and he's trying to convince Aziraphale to help him. When they had met up initially, Aziraphale had adamantly refused to help him, but once they're safe in the bookshop with several bottles of wine in their system, Aziraphale is honest for the first time about his feelings on the situation. "I don't like it anymore than you."
Sure, they sober up shortly after that, but it isn't until there is that liquid courage/plausible deniability in their system that he's even willing to dare to start to humor the thought.
(In Hard Times, you do have them sharing a drink together in Rome. It's the first time where they seem to genuinely indicate that they'd be interested in actively pursuing the other's company. There's less to pick a part because it's so short, but worth mentioning, especially because the entire time the two of them talk, they have a drink in their hand.)
The next time we see either of them drinking is right after Crowley has left the bookshop fire. A lot of people drink when they're sad, so that's not the most exciting, but he is drinking because he's sad about Aziraphale, his "best friend," and while Hell probably doesn't care because they have bigger things on their mind, it still gives that placebo level of protection.
Side note, there's a strong chance that if Crowley does remember the Fall that this is probably the most accurate description since he's the most open we've probably seen him in the show here- essentially talking crap at the Heavenly Watercooler with the boys and then ending up in a boiling pit of sulfur.
The Script Book has a line that I think is super worth mentioning as Crowley says, "Aziraphale? I'm trying to get drunk. Failing." It emphasizes how much of a cover drinking has become for them, and that the act of pretending is more important than genuinely being drunk. Also, Crowley doesn't try to hide from Aziraphale. He doesn't specifically say "I thought I lost you," but he looks absolutely wrecked. The way Aziraphale pauses in return makes me feel like he has to know, but also, they're idiots.
The two of them also share a drink before the Swap, and they get rather philosophical in regards to the Almighty. This is also the first and only time that Crowley uses the phrase 'We're on our side' and Aziraphale doesn't have a rebuttal.
At the end of Season 1, they're at the Ritz, drinking of course, and it's here where both of them tease at how they genuinely feel about the other. The drinking is on the light side though, so we don't get anything more concrete than 'To the World'. (Although the way that Aziraphale looks at him and says that phrase still makes me weak.)
Season 2 sees Crowley offering Aziraphale his first drink. The angel refuses but Bildad still gets his drink on. This is the first time that Crowley introduces the concept of not being on Hell's side.
(Also, he just watches Aziraphale pleasure himself enjoy some ox ribs which is freaking wild. I'm pretty sure everyone has analyzed the undertones of this scene to death, but there's drinking involved so it makes the cut.)
After speaking with Heaven and Hell, Crowley and Aziraphale get together at the pub to discuss their new plan. They both have a single drink, but you have the chest touch and Crowley talking about falling in love in the rain (ya know like he did).
In 1941, following the magic act, we have them drinking again. Crowley asks Aziraphale to retire the act, and then there is an important beat as they get ready to start a more serious conversation. As soon as Aziraphale decides to take them toward more serious territory, he tops off Crowley's glass. They again tease at the concept of 'our side' by discussing the morally grey.
Now, in S2E6, Crowley mentions to Muriel about taking Aziraphale for an extremely alcoholic breakfast at The Ritz, which to me suggests that even without Maggie and Nina talking with him, Crowley likely would have confessed.
However, in Episode 5, when Crowley is sitting at the restaurant, the first thing he does after getting Aziraphale's attention is ask if he wants a glass of wine. Aziraphale tells him "I'm at work and I have a meeting". I feel like this was almost the original confession from Crowley. Forgive me because I can't find the post, but I know someone has pointed out some of the other parts things that indicate this (Crowley's is the only table with a rose, him walking right into the 'smitten' phrasing because he thought that might make a good transition, etc. I'm really sorry I didn't find it right away when I scrolled and I gave up.) I think the wine speaks a lot to it though because it allows for the same song and dance of if this doesn't work out, I can always blame it on the alcohol.
Now you could say that the two of them just really enjoy alcohol and its a coincidence, but there are an angel and a demon who also happen to meet a pub. Gabriel gets himself and Beelzebub a beer, but the two of them never drink them.
Unlike Aziraphale and Crowley, they have the luxury of power to protect them. They don't need to have the plausible deniability because as far as they're concerned, they answer to no one.
Maggie, a human, also turns down alcohol while she's with Nina. Nina needs the liquid courage, but she doesn't. She has no interest in alcohol. However, Nina is in a sticky situation with her partner. Maggie carries a torch for Nina, but she's also brave enough to be the first one to offer a gift and indicate how she genuinely feels about her. They're both human, so they can be honest with one another.
I'm sure drinks will probably still be important in Season 3, but I wouldn't be surprised if they have a scene where either Aziraphale or Crowley actively turns down a drink because they no longer need to hide.
