Chapter 168

Somehow they have, though. Because attached to my left shoulder is a gorgeous, perfect, glowing bright green wing.

Chapter 168 summary: Grace stands tall with her other cousin, and begins to rain lightning down on everything. This scatters all of Cyrus’s followers, who no longer wish to have anything to do with her, whatsoever. 

Grace then uses her newfound powers to take the power that Cyrus had stolen from her friends, and puts it back inside of them. She thought that it would be difficult to distinguish, but each power is as unique as its owner, which makes sense. Lastly, she puts the power back inside of Izzy and Delilah, saying that they might be evil, but holy shit. Nobody deserves to have their magic stolen. 

Her wing then grows back, to the surprise of nobody but Grace. 

Chapter 169

“Move, and I will liquify your bones again,” Hudson growls. “That was fun, wasn’t it, asshole?”

Except that the time freeze keeping Cyrus tied to the gargoyles has been not only severed, but also rectified. This time, Cyrus can 100% be killed. 

Then he leans close and whispers in my ear, “Your Army has arrived, my queen.”

Chapter 169 summary: Grace is so startled that her wing grew back that she has to fly around for a second to make sure that it’s real. 

She then stops Cyrus from harming Hudson by causing a huge storm to blast him around. He yells for his guards to seize them, but what’s left of his army seems confused by what’s going on. Finally, they stop being so confused, and begin to fight again. 

Right when things start to seem dire, the gargoyle army finally decides to show up. 

Chapter 170

We have our orders, he tells them as he takes to the air. Tonight, we will vanquish the enemy.

Chapter 170 summary: Grace is startled, since not even a few hours earlier, Chastain had basically told Grace to fuck off. Now they’re here, and Chastain is bending his knee to her. He asks for his orders, so Grace looks over to Cyrus. She tells him that Cyrus has been defeated, and it’s time that his followers understand that. 

Chastain says that he’ll send some people to guard her, but Grace says no. That she could never live with herself if anybody got her protecting her. That she can take care of herself. 

Chapter 171

I reach out and scoop every single string against my chest in a blink. And when I think I have every single string, I brush my hand against my green string—and freeze Cyrus and everyone in his army instantly.

Chapter 171 summary: Grace and her friends stand back and watch the literal war unfolding before their eyes. Yes, they’ve been fighting, but with the inclusion of the gargoyle army, this is war at its most basic element. 

Eventually, Grace takes the strings of all of her friends and army, and freezes time for Cyrus and his army.

Honestly, I think so too! I just wanted to emphasize that it was definitely AT LEAST a month, because over the months I have seen a lot of people assume it all took place in a week 😅

What are ur least favourite common plot holes

idk I'm not cinema sins so I don't really keep a list, but from off the top of my head:

there's a mega powerhouse religion controlling every aspect of society except no one actually seems to believe in that religion like at all. we just let them be in charge for kicks I guess.

a newborn is miraculously kept alive without breast milk or a functional substitute

society is very very sexist I promise but this female character just does and says whatever she wants with no repercussions. the other girls don't act like this only because they are stupid sheep

warrior society where everybody is a warrior. they all fight and kill each other all the time. (optional: they are cool and very sexy but it's still sooooo dangerous). somehow these people are managing to be a powerful and long-lasting society. there are so many of them, even though they kill each other all the time.

a character just happens to keep extremely important/relevant information from the protagonist until the right plot moment because they just "never asked"

I need to keep my special secret from my loved ones to protect them from danger, even when they are consistently shown to be endangered precisely by their lack of information

idk if these even count as plot holes though. And you can let a lot of things slide if you don't draw attention to them. but what bugs me is when an aspect of the plot/world has a lot of attention drawn to it to try and make things more dramatic/raise the stakes etc. Then it's like, okay well now I'm thinking about it because you keep talking about it

one thing we dont talk about enough is tianlang jun calling out shen qingqiu for knowing his was around the holy mausoleum

like the "bullseye" thing? crazy

sqq literally swaggered in there and kinda beat tlj on his own turf that he should have known nothing about and tlj is the only (living) character that really knows it, and as far as we know he never bothers to snitch!

hes just. tlj about it. like hes just like "wow thats crazy haha sqq is so cool"

to me it feels like one of sqq's biggest weak spots in his not-so-secret identity bc just about everything else can be explained by the usual "it was,,,,, a qi deviation" bs but like. how tf would he know his way around the holy mausoleum. nobody knows their way around the holy mausoleum thats kind of like the whole point

Uhhhh, is the character we're supposed to hate Lila, or Alya? Because with the way the writers are handling that subplot—and by that I mean completely disregarding the fact that, as of season 4, Alya should in absolutely no way or form be that trusting of Lila over Marinette, especially when Adrien himself has finally told her and Nino point blank she's bad news— it's starting to feel as if the writers actually want us to salt on Alya and dislike her character.

Chapter 116

I’m standing between the God of Order and her long-lost, murderous daughter—and all I can think of is how they’re my family.

Family, only separated by a couple hundred generations. 

“I do not have an antidote, but if I did, I would not give it to you. I want Cyrus to become a false god. It’s the only way I can be assured of my ultimate vengeance for taking my daughter from me, and he will feel the wrath of a true god when I am done.” 

Well…that’s just the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard.

Bitch, you literally gave him the God stone so that he could become a god. How the fuck is the Crone’s plan any different from your own?

With that bone-chilling statement, she turns back to Hudson and Jaxon and tosses out, “Thanks, but I think I’ll stick with the winning team.” And then she walks through the portal.

Chapter 116 summary: The crone comes out, and Grace tries to tell Izzy that this is her mother. However, as you can imagine, this would be difficult to swallow even if you hadn’t been brainwashed by your father since before you could form memories. There’s a lot of talking, but it basically boils down to Cyrus having kidnapped baby Izzy and then lying about it. When Rowena showed up for the tea, the crone figured it out, which is why she asked Rowena to go find and bring back Izzy. 

Grace tries to ask for the antidote that poisoned the gargoyle army, but the crone insists she doesn’t have it. Nor would she give it to Grace even if she did. She has a plan to make Cyrus suffer, but it apparently doesn’t involve anybody but herself. 

Izzy still doesn’t want anything to do with any of this, and tries to leave through another portal Remy opened for her. Grace gets in front of her and tries one last time to try and make her see reason. However, as you can imagine, after having been brainwashed for a thousand years, the girl is not going to fucking listen to anything anybody says. 

Chapter 117

[Rowena] wouldn’t be so ill if she hadn’t helped my parents hide my gargoyle. 

Uh… No mention of how a psychotic dictator held Rowena in his basement for a decade?

Am I so desperate to save my people and fix my mistake that I’ve convinced myself, convinced my friends, that we are strong enough to win? And what happens if we aren’t?

Chapter 117 summary: After Izzy leaves, some of the other vampires (the ones who are technically named but aren’t important enough for you to actually remember) say that they knew of Izzy. That she hung around at the court a lot. But nobody knew that she was Cyrus’s daughter. Would have never guessed. 

They go through to the witch court, where Rowena and Finn thank Grace for having helped rescue Rowena. 

Everybody goes off to get some food and sleep. 

Chapter 118

“I’m so sorry,” I whisper, because the need to apologize has been eating at me since I saw my aunt on the floor of that dungeon. “None of this would have happened if you hadn’t needed to get the tea for me—”

Chapter 118 summary: Since all of the kids from Katmere are now at the witch court, they have to double up on rooms. And since it’s Finn who’s assigning rooms, Grace ends up with Macy instead of Hudson. (Which is probably for the best, regardless.) Rowena comes by, so Grace goes to take a shower to give Macy a moment alone with her mom. 

When she comes out, Rowena and Macy are looking through runes and at magic crystals. Rowena also says that her own sister is letting Macy pick three potions from her store, which Macy finds quite exciting. 

Grace then apologises to her aunt for being the reason why Rowena had been locked up for a decade. 

Chapter 119

“And the Crone said the first time we visited her that gargoyles are not immune to ancient magic! And that means—” She breaks off as a knock sounds at the door.

Chapter 119 summary: Rowena basically says that it’s not Grace’s fault that Rowena did something. Especially not when Grace herself didn’t even know most of the full picture until a few months ago. She goes on to say that they never meant to keep Grace’s powers locked up for so long. But after Rowena was locked up, it sent everybody into a panic. 

Rowena continues on and says that Grace’s wild magic (from the bloodletter) is powerful, and angry that it hasn’t been free. That one day, it’ll overpower her gargoyle and human sides. She also says that Grace has a bit of witch powers, which she would have inherited from her dad. Grace doesn’t believe this at first, but then is happy to have a bit of something from him.

So i've started to watch bbc merlin. (I've already read close to 200 merthur fanfics...ya i'm that kinda person) i've just finished the 1st episode and this is what I think-

Merlin is dumb af. He just used magic in public several times in a city where it's banned. He could've been killed. And who'd allow some rando to walk into a lady's room just like that (TWICE!!)

Arthur is a PRAT. But I see room for growth. I'll give him a chance to win my love.

I hate Uther.(might be the fanfics clouding my perceptions but still...). I don't think I ever will start to like him. He's arrogant and very... 🤔 slimy.

Morgana I already love her. I'm sad she'll go evil. if fanfics are to be believed it could've been prevented with a little help from just about anybody.

And Gwen I love that awkward anxious little cutie pie. She just stamped on merlin's ego a little too hard.

Dragon is ugly af. No I will not take criticism.

Cgi is cheap and funny.

Merthur - I am oblivious af so subtext goes right over my head but I do see a spark, a possibility. I look forward to it.
