My personal theory as to why Ash's Pikachu won't evolve is because he knows he's an abnormal sort of Pikachu, as implied by Team Rocket early on in the show, and also implied by Ash's Pikachu pulling off certain moves and feats no other Pikachu could ever do. Something to do with his genetics or something, I don't know. Anyway, if he were to evolve, his abnormalities would be cancelled out, and he'd be a regular Raichu instead of being an abnormally strong Pikachu. It'd actually be a DOWNgrade instead of an UPgrade. I also think the Pikachu and the Eevee from the Let's Go games are the same way.

I like that headcanon better than Pikachu's idiotic sense of pride…

And this might just be me, but I also think Pikachu's abnormalities are also the reason his Level seems to reset after certain major events (at the start of every region or after the end of every region). Pikachu's Level resetting is the tradeoff for his immense power.

Really crazy shiny pokemon story

So i was talking about victreebel with my friends on discord bc at that time i had just evolved my weepinbell into one

then after that i went offline and while i was offline i was shiny hunting pikachu (to evolve into raichu bc i like raichu) and instead of finding a shiny pikachu guess what i found instead

SHINY BELLSPROUT which is super crazy bc i was talking about victreebel which evolves from bellsprout and then i found a shiny one while looking for an entirely different pokemon

btw the game where i evolved my weepinbell and was shiny hunting pikachu and found the shiny bellsprout is pokemon lets go eevee

You ever just be playin' a Pokémon game and think to yourself "how the fuck did I get here?" This just started out as a fun adventure. Just a kid and their magic lightning mouse running an errand for a nice old man and competing for Gym Badges. Next minute, the kid's infiltrated an undergound terrorist hideout hidden under an illegal gambling ring, and this is after the kid exorcised spirits out of women at a gravesite, and right before the kid puts an angry ghost to rest. And then later the kid finds out scientists have accidentally created a FUCKING BIOWEAPON that these terrorists plan to capture using stolen technology from the biggest corporation in the country. AND THEN THE KID HAS TO FIGHT THE BIOWEAPON.
