Namalin
Namari x Falin
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Easy short rarepair spotlight post for prosperity~ This one I didn’t think of on my own for once, I don’t know if it’s just I forgot the decided-on ship name or what but I remember seeing really nice art and a couple posts about it that I can’t find again 💔 Namalin warrior you are out there and not forgotten ty for making me see the light
I like that Namari’s critical of Falin! I have a whole character analysis on Falin if you’re interested, but it’s generally well noticed that people around Falin idealize her a lot. Laios, Marcille and Toshiro all put her on a pedestral of ultimate goodness in the world, a saintess if nothing short of perfection. Sounds like Chilchuck felt sort of creeped out by her vibes, uncomfortable because he couldn’t read her, so unlike Namari it seems he preferred steering clear of her rather than debate opposed ideologies like he usually does. Makes sense if unlike Namari his issue is with her cryptic aura rather than the stances she does show. "… The dungeon is no place for soft hearts" my ultimate namalin scene <333 It’s fun because while this scene is there to show us a lot of things, mostly to establish Falin’s characters better as it’s the first flashback of her we get, the conflict in it is more than anything else Falin vs Namari in how they contrast and clash and approach situations differently. Namari wants security in swift effective violence and thinks Falin too soft for her own good when she prefers a pacifist approach and promotes compassion even for the "undeserving" in Namari’s eyes. Falin steps between the battle ready Namari and the ghost, fearless. Falin effortlessly gently exorcises the ghost without one step back, quickly. Falin proves someone wrong. Falin proves someone wrong.
I love thinking of Namari being surprised when she learns new aspects of Falin. I like Falin having the power to shape people’s views on her. With Falin ships the most fun part for me is usually that point where Falin/the relationship becomes a clean slate: the person realizes they haven’t been seeing all of her, realizes there’s more of her they hadn’t noticed or that she hadn’t shown, that there’s change, a shift in the views on each other and the dynamic a bit.
Namari often feels like an external view looking in to me… I need to make a proper analysis on her but like. I made a lamari post once (analytic more than personally invested rip sorry) and I go with the same Namari take here, I think she’s someone who tends to have an outsider view on people and relationships if that makes sense, she’s a coworker before anything else and she’s content staying at a distance, she’s not objective per se but she tries to keep feelings out of her choices and how she sees people (her lil arc on not staying to save Falin despite the existing camaderie but in the end asking to work for the Flokes more because she wants to stay with them). She’s serious no nonsense on the job but friendly off the job and likes having casual friends, but she’s not… She doesn’t really feel connected to the group. She’s so focused on doing her job, even if she does get impulsive and passionate and too assertive for her bosses’ tastes, so focused on working her reputation and life from the ground up that that professionalism and attitude limits her social life. It doesn’t help that her reputation makes her widely judged, so she probably enters social spaces on the derensive. The closest person she was to pre-canon as far as we knew was Chilchuck and even they have a very "coworker I get along with" dynamic more than friends, with a similar sense of boundaries, humor and world view. Also like canon says a few time, the party didn’t really try to get to know each other well pre-canon, didn’t hang out after work often no one knew where Marcille was from and no one thought that was weird (also how no one had the instinct to ask about Senshi’s past) etc, the notable exception is we’re shown Namari and Chilchuck hitting taverns together and having a grand time. Everyone’s fine with things as they are, they get along decent even if not everyone considers each other friends exactly. Where I’m getting at is that to me, it feels like she tries keeping emotional distance. Emotional distance from people in general being something which in my interpretation of Falin is also present, which would make it a theme and common thread interesting to explore imo. But yes like, Namari looking at Falin, and how everyone treats her, and being more skeptical, seeing her for what she is a little more, maybe even uncharitable. "Why is everyone treating her like she’s all that? She’s gentle sure but seems like a doormat to me" and then one day she comes running up with her mace ready to cave in someone’s face to protect Laios. So yeah… Keeping her distance but one day Falin offering her some gentleness that feels very too personal for someone who’s not used to being genuine and simply showing that they care… Them talking a bit which leaves her stumped and mindblown in a quiet way when Falin defies her expectations. Namari growing on Falin when she stays and decides to open herself up more, or when Falin ends up reading her really well like she’s shown to do with her parents and Marcille’s worries. She’s very attuned to worrying and why and when different people do it especially when it comes to when they worry for others, perhaps because she does a lot of that too, so I think she’d nail down how Namari does care for the rest of the party and it’d make Namari feel seen both in a warm validating way and in a scared naked way.
We see in the tentacles chapter that she’s someone’s who’s very protective and looks out for her peers in a tough love way. She’s overbearing but it’s because she wants everyone to have the best chances. I like that she’s very confrontational and somewhat pushy and rude, but it’s tough love, it’s protective care: asserting herself to better protect and defend. The opposite of Falin’s type of care, quiet and self-sacrificial devotion. They’re barbarian x healer but they’re also bodyguard x bodyguard in their attitude and role. … What I want for them is slow burn slice of life of being coworkers and slowly getting to know each other better, pretty fluffy, but god, put this way they’d have the potential to be such a hot layered mess of insanely mutually devoted codependence… Falin taking a hit for Namari and Namari being scarred by it forever, lots of arguments about it, my god.
I like that she’s the fighter to Falin’s healer. I looove thinking of scenes of Falin healing Namari, necessitating touch and like, a moment of slowing down and sitting together in silence, too intimate, the perfect opportunity to connect that neither truly want to take until one day they do. I love how onesided I imagine the relationship would be at first. Again, as per my interpretation of Falin, I think Namari would have all these little observations and opinions on Falin meanwhile Falin really doesn’t think of Namari much at first. So Namari thinks a lot about Falin and thinks she’s got her pinned down but hasn’t (not that she’s fully wrong, she’d have credit and confront Falin on some of her flaws like the doormat thing), while Falin is very passive about Namari and doesn’t think deeply about her or anything but she read Namari’s insecurities and logic well. Not unlike how Laios was the one who seemed to understand Namari’s way of care the best in the party in the tentacles episode, and how he was very understanding of her choice and reasons. In Falin’s case it’s more like, the objectivity of passivity… She cares about Namari less than Laios who generally seeks to form bonds, so her lack of investment allows her a neutral perspective. In that way another parallel with Namari that I’m drawing, except Namari lets feelings from her opinions seeps in more… Onesided beef my beloved. I’m going insane save me this post was a mistake. I think Falin takes the crumbs of friendship and love where she can without expecting or asking for anything more than what’s offered, and I think her relationship with Namari (or anyone really) would start out the way it did with Marcille: the other takes the initiative and they end up spending time together, Falin is friendly but unattached until the bond gets gradually and wordlessly strenghtened through regularly spending moments together. So! I think Namari would need to take a lot of the first steps, which since again she’s confrontational & argumentative and doesn’t hold herself back on that front that could spark a lot of conversations I think. Ooor since Falin cares about Namari less than Laios and Marcille she allows herself to be bolder herself lol. Or also circumstances force them to spend time together like dungeon party getting separated shenanigans.
I think their personalities match cutely, I think falin would try to protect namari like she does others but also Namari simply doesn’t need protection, just support. And I think they’re complementary in that way that Namari’s friendly but also won’t sugarcoat things, and I think if she takes an interest in Falin it could go from there and she could develop some understanding of her and idk like an intrigued crush.
Namari wants stability & security & to, like, not be judged and rejected and exiled lol, to find her nest her pack the place where she feels good and wanted in. I think having a fitting partner would help in that (similarly to how the found family with the Flokes seemed to. Oh another parallel, Falin’s top priority is protecting Laios her brother and what Namari are a family figure) and I think Falin would fulfill that cozy protection and that warm ‘being seen and not judged’ feeling. But also Namari would run up to her and yell about her trying to sacrifice herself ever.
Another fun thread to explore: post-canon guilt for not having gone to save her. Sure, they weren’t close, but they had some nice memories, didn’t they? Namari cares, and it stings despite herself when it feels like people think she doesn’t. Oh it wasn’t a lost cause after all, oh it’d have worked out, oh I could have stayed loyal and it wouldn’t have compromised myself in the end. Wanting to apologize to Falin, or just ahnging out with her and sharing a moment after she wakes up. And tangent but that’s interesting to think about… Narratively, I think the purpose of Namari and Toshiro in the story, beyond strenghtening the theme of "seek to understand what is different from you and promote unity despite them" and fleshing the cast and worldbuilding, is Toshiro’s purpose was being a foil & tool in Laios’ arc (trouble connecting with people) while Namari’s was being and a foil & tool in Marcille’s arc (standing up for ideals without being out of touch with harsh realities and needs). They are the conflict that push our protagonists to grow— and they explore different ways of dealing with a situation or topic, different ways of growing into themselves on that end: Laios needing to listen to others more and Toshiro needing to focus on voicing himself more to be able to connect, Marcille needing to learn ideals sometimes cost too much and Namari needing to internalize that ideals are sometimes worth risks (not only to be able to find a reasonable but fulfilling life balance, but also to get in touch with their compassion: Namari restricts her own too much and Marcille is too harsh on people she deems to be breaking values, like Namari not risking her life and career for a friend with no promise of success, or even like how Namari is harsh on Falin’s way of doing things : too gentle, too soft, too idealistic) (similarly to Chilchuck’s arc with Marcille too, and he also plays a hand in advancing that arc in the Namari chapters). We are getting far from namalin sorry ummm preview for future analyses like Toshiro’s contrasting approach to grief and accepting loss.
More post-canon namalin! Thinking about a timeline where… Namari is fond of Falin finding herself and going off to do her thing. "Finally!" she thinks. If she’s still for hire, maybe Falin would want her to come along, either as guide or bodyguard <3, she knows Namari has a lot of good avice on a lot of things to give, plus they’ve worked together before. She hires Namari and they travel for a bit. Travel would do Namari good too I think, even if her end goal is to settle and I think Falin’s would be too eventually. Seeing sights that light her wonder for the world and going places where people don’t know her story, don’t recognize her face or her name. Them, feeling free. Finding a companionship that feels uplifting instead of stifling or charged. Namari having been too in her head about reputation and social games and money that they hit the roads and spend time in nature and it’s like, woah. I’ve been living in a small world with made up rules.
Ahh yes romance, Namari and Falin kissing after 3 years of not really knowing each other despite seeing each other every day then 2 months of wanting to spend more and more time together until they’re an inseparable duo! Workwives. I want them to stand next to each other during campire time and Namari cracks little jokes and Namari laughs. I want Namari to gift Falin a bug caught in amber and for it to be their wedding/promised to each other thing.
TLDR
Rowdy but levelheaded barbarian x gentle healer that will also cave your face in with a mace I like it…… They’re an interesting duo of mixed stuff. Protection being your purpose and what you’re worth for, literally being a meat shield (Laios, Tansu), finding your individuality recognized and validated through a growing bond with the other. Sticking around as a love language. Also bug immortalized in amber and it being beautiful.
Nevermind this wasn’t short. Um! Anyways.

i'm going to get you blasted for this but mtt poly 🙂 and its pairs too 🙂🙂🙂
And here we are again… remember my promise to rewrite the way I saw the Murder Time Trio? Well, it seems I’ve been forced to write the analysis for you now.
Precisely because they are a group created by the fandom, it’s hard to talk about them without an established background. HOWEVER! Thanks to my ability to create contexts in record time, I came up with something that makes sense (at least for my bubble of mutuals) and doesn’t involve Nightmare Sans (death to the octopus).
We have Killer Sans, who, under Nightmare’s control, has the travel token (idea stolen from @what-have-i-unleashed) and uses it to travel between universes with low negative energy —veither to increase it or just to report the AU’s situation to Nightmare. However, one of these universes ended up being Dusttale, and Killer, the curious and cynical Killer, became intrigued by Murder’s situation, coming and going to his universe just to mess with him. Until, in a simple, inconsequential idea, Killer decides to gift his new friend with a new travel token — he just didn’t expect Murder not to know the coordinates of his own universe. Something something Murder ends up in Horror’s universe something something fights and near-death experience something Murder and Horror end up in another universe due to a malfunction in Murder’s travel token something something they are found by Killerb— the most experienced in dimensional travel and alternate universes between them.
As you can see, it’s a rushed summary, but still a context that can be worked on! With this in mind, and in a future where Killer manages to escape Nightmare’s clutches and become free, we can finally discuss how I see their relationship with each other.
Killer x Murder: Perhaps the most complex one here, haha, especially because I’m completely normal about them… Killer is fascinated by Murder, while at the same time envying his ability to remain as Sans despite everything; meanwhile, Murder feels some pity for Killer for what he has become, while also wanting to abandon the old shell of the Sans he is and envies Killer for it (for having what he so desperately craves). Envy that corrodes the bones of both, while they see themselves in each other; reflections in a mirror.
Murder x Horror: Most of the dynamics I see with them I don’t like. I think of them more as “guys who are in a shitty situation and take advantage of it by being two jerks”. They probably have a closer bond due to having similar memories and tastes — unlike a certain someone who stopped being Sans a long time ago.
Horror x Killer: I don’t have a fully formed opinion about them yet, but I think Horror feels slightly intimidated by Killer’s frozen smile? As cynical and arrogant as Horror seems, Killer can see beneath all that arrogance; he sees the not-so-subtle trembling of Horror’s sweaty hands every time their faces are too close.
I much prefer this dynamic of “I hate you precisely because you resemble me” that turns into “You’ve seen the worst of me, so maybe I can trust you.” Strangers to enemies to something better.

The reason I love the Bird Trio/HwoaJinXiao polycule so much is because throughout the Tekken story, from part 3 onwards, Jin has mostly been alone and faced many challenges and hardships. It was difficult without his mother's guidance and even harder after Heihachi's betrayal. However, there are two people who have stuck with him and remained the closest to the very end...
Hwoarang and Xiaoyu.
Hwoarang
Hwoarang and Jin first met as teenagers on the streets of Seoul when Heihachi took Jin with him on a bussines trip. At the time, Hwoarang was a gang leader and has likely crossed path with Jin in an attempt to take a money from him, seeing how rich the young Kazama was. He didn't expect Jin to refuse, let alone resist in a great way, as he thought of him as nothing more than a rich spoiled brat, which the latter soon proved him wrong. After their fight ended up in a draw - something that happened to Hwoarang for the first time in his whole life - it sparked something big between them.
At surface level, it looked like a simple rivalry, like any other. However, Hwoarang was the only one who really pushed their rivalrly, demanding that rematch from Kazama over and over, every time they met, but Jin did not take it seriously, nor did he want to fulfil his rival's request at the time as he was focused on getting revenge on the Ogre, leaving Hwoarang frustrated.
After the events of the third King of Iron Fist Tournament, Jin goes missing, leaving the readhead with many questions, and as the time went by, Hwoarang found himself burning with a desire to get the rematch he demanded ever since he lost that day. Fast forward to the 8th KOIF Tournament, Jin and Hwoarang faced off each other again, reingniting that spark of their rivarly from their very first days of the tournament and finding the purpose of it once again.
The rivalry is one-sided for the most of the time being, as Hwoarang is the one who initiates the fight, and Jin being the representative of calm and peaceful Kazama path, so he did not bother with his redhead rival's constant demands. However, in Tekken 8, Jin has finally come to terms with his rivalry with Hwoarang and jas started to reciprocate the need for fight, as seen in their special intro where he says: "Come at me with all you've got." This indicates that he's in a much better mental state and he's willing to play along with his friend and rival, which Hworang accepts happily. They show affection for each other in mutliple different ways, mainly through their fights where they passionately display their will to come out on top and keep the fighting spirit ignited all the way through. Jin respects Hwoarang as his rival indeed, as it can be seen in their Tekken 5 rival battle cutscene, where Jin responds with "no" after Hwoarang asks him if there is somone stronger than him.
Of course, as I am a great fan of "rivals to friends to lovers" trope, the way these two interact made me feel many things about them.
Xiaoyu
Xiaoyu met Jin when he enrolled in the Mishima Polytech High. Being a jolly and extroverted girl with a kind heart, she saw how different and lonesome the young Kazama felt in the school, so she took the matter into her own hands and tried to approach Jin... and it worked.
The tragedy at Jin's home in Yakushima left Jin feeling hopeless and vulnerable for so long, so a person like Xiaoyu was a ray of light that had shown up right after the storm. Xiaoyu's main defining trait was her undying hope and determination and it was that which made her and Jin become close. We can also see Jin call her simply "Xiao" which indicates their close bond and informality that vanished as the result of the relationship developed.
Prior to the fourth King of Iron Fist tournament, as Jin was missing at the time, someone had sent Xiaoyu an email where they warned her about the nefarious plans of Heihachi Mishima, whose protegé she was. It is very implied that it had been Jin, as he had been planning to destroy the Mishimas bloodline along with him at that time. Later in Tekken 5, he warns Xiao to stay away from him and the Mishimas until he deals with Jinpachi, as another sign of him caring about her just as much as Hwoarang.
All up to the events of Tekken 8, Xiaoyu, with her friend Panda, has been in an endless pursuit of searching for Jin, as she was worried and frustarted with everything going on. Just like Hwoarang, she was in disbelief when she heard that it was the young Kazama who started the war, as she knew him way better than everyone else (with a little exception of Hwoarang). Not once did Xiaoyu think of giving up and she chose her allies carefully (Claudio, Zafina) in order to succeed.
Jin and Xiaoyu are each other's biggest supporters and they are the textbook definition of soulmates, as they both know what the other desires and they push one another to success.
TL;DR
Hwoarang and Xiaoyu are the only two people besides Jun that can inspire and move Jin in their own different ways. Hwoarang evokes Jin's fighting spirit and passion, while Xiaoyu brings out his compassion and kindess.
And this is the main reason why I ship them all together, and no amount of money or ridicule is ever gonna make me stop.
The end. \(^_^)/

✦✦ SHIPS COMPULSIVO – THE HAVEN FOR PASSIONATE SHIPPERS ✦✦
Welcome to Ships Compulsivo, the place where every ship gets a chance, every meltdown is validated, and no one suffers alone! If you’ve ever:
✔ Spent hours defending your OTP as if your life depended on it.
✔ Suffered because a couple had everything to work out, but the writer decided to mess it up.
✔ Fallen in love with a fanfic and now consider it more canon than the original story.
✔ Created theories and analyzed two-second glances as if they were proof of an epic romance.
Congratulations! You’re one of us. Here, no one judges your ships, no one looks at you weird for fangirling, and the motto is simple: if there’s chemistry, we ship it!
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
✦ What is Ships Compulsivo?
This is a blog made by shippers, for shippers. If you’ve ever felt like you live more for fictional couples than for your own love life, then you’ve found your new home. Here, we discuss, analyze, and freak out over all kinds of ships, from the most obvious ones to the most unlikely—because let’s be honest, who hasn’t randomly shipped something just for fun?
✦ What makes it into our meltdown sessions?
⟿ Canon couples – When the writers actually do their job right (hallelujah!).
⟿ Non-canon couples – Because we know better than the authors, right?
⟿ Crackships – If two characters breathed the same air in the same scene, it’s reason enough to ship them.
⟿ Fanfics & AUs – If the original material disappoints, the fandom fixes it!
⟿ BL, GL, hetero, polyamorous, platonic ships... If it gives you butterflies, it’s valid!
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
✦ What will you find here?
If you love in-depth analysis, unfiltered fangirling, and heated debates about ships, you’re in the right blog! Here, everything is fair game, from the most famous couples to the ships only a handful of people know about.
✦ Detailed and passionate analyses – We’ll dissect every look, every line, and every unresolved tension.
✦ Fanfic recommendations – Because every shipper knows that the best part of fandom is on Archive of Our Own.
✦ Discussions on fandoms and ship wars – Served with generous doses of irony and humor.
✦ Recommendations of dramas, animes, series, and books – If it has a heart-stopping ship, we’ll talk about it.
✦ Curated lists – The best enemies to lovers, the most underrated ships, the most problematic (but irresistible) couples…
✦ Fun facts and wild theories – Because a true shipper always finds hidden connections.
And of course, all of this with a touch of humor, drama, and the exaggeration worthy of a true shipper!
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
✦ How often do we post?
⟿ The goal is to post at least twice a week, but let’s be honest: if a collective meltdown happens, the posts might triple. After all, when a ship starts consuming our thoughts, no one sleeps in peace until we talk about it.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
✦ How can you join the hype?
⟿ Comment, debate, share your favorite fanfics, and most importantly: defend your ships with arguments worthy of an academic thesis! Here, every meltdown is welcome, every theory is valid, and every tear shed for an unfairly treated couple will be respected.
Now tell me: which ship would you defend with your nails, teeth, and a 50-page dossier? Let’s freak out together!

I have talked to my irl friend about this before but I was never into mcd larmau or garmau before. To me the love triangle just got in the way of the story and it just felt uncomfortable from a power dynamic standpoint? Or it’s more like there’s a certain relationship between a knight and their lord that interferes to much with a romantic relationship. Like they will always see her as their lord and leader as a first and foremost and she will always have that authority over them even if she never uses that authority selfishly. The romance diluted Laurence and Garroth characters because they just became Aphmau’s love interests, especially with garroth end of s1. Also my ass was just tired of love triangles.
On the other hand I was (and am) a diehard mcd Armau shipper. They’re individuals who are on get to know each other and become friends. There isn’t that lord/subject dynamic to their relationship and as Aaron was a lord they would understand each other’s struggles. Everyone else in the cast looked up to Aphmau as a lord and leader but Aaron was just there as an outsider who supported her! Aaron’s relationship with Aphmau just felt natural, there wasn’t any drama following it (not counting Irene and shad). Also there wasn’t a fucking love square/triangle/rhombus that haunted them. They just randomly became canon one day but it made sense! Aaron’s character and arc was furthered by their relationship being romantic. His goal initially being revenge for his family (and village) to sacrificing himself for garroth, someone who aph has been trying to save this entire time, felt good! I loved the character progression.
I like garmau and laurmau now but Armau is superior to me

Pairing: Zayne x f!reader x Caleb x Sylus ( POLY SHIP ) Word Count: 43,971 Warnings: MxM intimacy, Poly intimacy, tandem blowjobs, dom/Sub dynamics, rugby sylus and caleb, caleb and sylus preestablished, book club zayne x reader, Summary: A chance meeting and four souls find forever after a frat party incident. A/N: I finished this in the span of like a month or so? I can't remember but I finally finished editing it till I was happy. I wrote this for @vesearlee >:3 my pookie. AO3
Tumblr media
The second-floor reading room of the campus library smelled like old books and cheap coffee, the kind that promised more alertness than it ever delivered. The overhead lights cast a dim, yellow glow across the long wooden table where the book club had gathered, their copies of The Metamorphosis stacked haphazardly between them. Zayne sat at the far end, half-listening, half-bored, his thumb idly skimming the edge of his paperback while some freshman rambled on about how Gregor Samsa’s transformation was an obvious metaphor for capitalism.
"If you think about it," the kid was saying, pushing up his glasses with the kind of self-importance only a first-year could manage, "Gregor turning into a bug is really just a symbol of how capitalism dehumanizes the worker. Once he's no longer useful, he's discarded. Classic Marxist critique."
Zayne exhaled sharply, barely suppressing an eye-roll. He snapped his book shut with one hand, the movement sharp enough to draw a few glances. "Yeah," he said dryly, leaning back in his chair, "I'm sure Kafka would've been blown away by that analysis."
A quiet chuckle—soft, amused, the kind that wasn’t meant to be noticed but was anyway.
Zayne’s gaze flicked across the table.
She was watching him.
She sat with her chin propped on her hand, elbow resting against the wood, her dark eyes holding a glint of curiosity beneath the overhead light. He recognized her from last week—a transfer student, new to the university. She’d been quiet then, more observer than participant, her gaze moving across the room like she was taking mental notes on everyone. But now, she was looking at him, the corner of her mouth tugging upward like she was holding back a comment.
"You don't agree?" she asked, her voice even but edged with something playful, like she already knew he didn’t.
Zayne tilted his head slightly, intrigued. Most people either nodded along with whatever half-baked interpretation got thrown around or avoided speaking altogether, too self-conscious to challenge the group’s consensus. But she was asking him directly, not in a combative way, but like she actually wanted to hear what he had to say.
"I agree that it's a metaphor," Zayne said, stretching his legs out beneath the table, "but the ‘capitalism bad’ take is kind of the literary equivalent of a microwave meal. Easy, convenient, zero effort."
Her smirk deepened. She tapped a fingernail against the book's spine. "So what's your version? If not capitalism, what do you think the bug means?"
He studied her for a moment, considering. There was something sharp in the way she asked, like she was testing him, checking if he had something worthwhile to say or if he was just being contrary for the sake of it.
Zayne shrugged. "I think it's about isolation. The second he stops being useful, his family stops seeing him as human. It’s not money, it’s convenience. He could’ve turned into a floor lamp and they probably would’ve shoved him in storage just the same."
That won a real laugh from her—short, genuine, the kind that cut through the usual low hum of conversation in the room.
"A lamp?" she repeated, raising an eyebrow.
"Yeah," Zayne said, leaning forward slightly. "Imagine his sister walking in like, ‘Sorry, Gregor, but you’re a lamp now, and Mom says we need the outlet for the vacuum.’"
She grinned, and for a brief moment, the entire room seemed to shrink, the background noise fading under the weight of that expression. It wasn’t just amusement—it was recognition. Like she understood the way his brain worked, the way humor curled around his observations, and she approved.
"That’s bleak," she said.
"That’s Kafka," he countered smoothly.

Over here we have one side giggling, making gay and poly ships and writing cute and angsty fanfictions- and on the other side ppl write analysis of the og texts/myths and of different translations. And I think both sides are equally beautiful and important to the ecosystem.

Announcing Young Royals Rare Pairs Week 2025! Taking place from Monday 24 to Sunday 30 March.
This is a week to encourage new content for the YR ships and pairings that get less attention in the fandom. This isn't restricted to romantic pairings; platonic friendships, poly ships, or any other combinations count as long as you think they're rare/more obscure or don't get the attention they should.
Simply:
Post something new any time during the week (fic, art, gifs, edits, meta/analysis or anything else you like)
Tag us in the post (@youngroyals-events) so we can see and reblog it
Use the hashtag #YRrarepairsweek2025
Tag #NSFW material if it applies, or any other appropriate warnings
We'll create an AO3 collection and add it to this post
Have fun!

It's been plaguing my mind for a few minutes but I can confirm I do like Beast x Ancients
BUT IM VERY DECISIVE ON THEM
welcome to my TED Talk about the ships and how I see them working (UTC):
(please keep in mind I never had interest in the Beasts until Eternal Sugar came around and my social media got raided ShadowVanilla)
MysticCacao
This ship has a lot of potential of Mystic Flour being taught by Dark Cacao to regain her empathy for cookies. I see that Dark Cacao understands what happened with her (overwhelmed by the requests of her followers and saddened/disheartened by what happened in her absence as she isolated herself to calm herself) and understands she wanted to help cookies like before, but does it in the wrong way.
By this, I see interactions between these two as Dark Cacao becoming the "teacher" to Mystic Flour, showing that things in the past would not happen now in the current timeline and that her past empathy and desires to help have not disappeared, but need a direction to be moved. (also apparently Mystic Flour cannot beat the resting bitch face era if she's being caring to Cloud Haetae sooooo a start)
I mainly ship these two, they can work so well together and can learn from each other a lot❤️
EternalHolly
Being honest, this whole episode made me get back to Cookie Run for many reasons. Eternal Sugar is one interesting Beast, her motivations are like Mystic Flour in a way (wanting to do good but goes about it wrongly) but she's also very cruel about it, mostly mentioned and through context clues from other cookies. (looking at you Pavlova and Sugarfly)
And with the recent episode of Hollyberry awakening and promising to return to Eternal Sugar's paradise to teach her the lost passion Eternal Sugar had for cookies, I see it working between them. Granted, I think Eternal Sugar (once given the chance of redemption) should immensely work on rewriting her wrongs of what she did to cookies of her paradise first and foremost and lessen her immense obsession and objectivity of Hollyberry.
I do ship them, but I glide a little towards SugarCheese (Eternal Sugar x Golden Cheese) and i could make it poly👌🏾
ShadowVanilla
ShadowVanilla. The biggest Beast x Ancient that plagues all social media. Not very much of a fan of how they woobify Shadow Milk and act like he doesn't cause the problems around Beast Yeast.
The dynamic is.... something. Shadow Milk mainly projects onto Pure Vanilla to the point where he turns Pure Vanilla to a different coin like he did. He's lonely in the sense of fearing to be the only Beast as he is, willing to tear others (even the other Beasts) down for company. And Pure Vanilla, once awakened, tries to show that there's opportunity to see the in between of lies and truth, which Shadow Milk is like "no" and is in denial about everything. (I haven't gotten to this episode so if I'm wrong on this analysis, correct me)
I do not ship them, I really can't. Shadow Milk needs a lot, A LOT, of help (therapy for the blue jester twink cookie) before getting with someone. I will throw him at a OC when it happens-
BurningCheese
I will say it here: I personally cannot ship these two together.
A lot of people say it's weird to ship them because of brutality on black women and harmful stereotypes, but I don't think that is much of the case for them. For this ship, I think the main focus of why people don't like it should be more on how Burning Spice is adamant to kill Golden Cheese himself, rather than watching someone else do the job. And also how he wants her to end him to end his depression of watching civilizations rise and fall countless times without changing the flow as the being of change itself. I think sizing this ship down as "brutalization of black women and harmful stereotypes" should be the LEAST of worries, coming from a black person.
These two are more-so comrades like from Genshin Impact with the interactions between Tartaglia/Childe and Player; can become great friends and make each other better people for not only themselves but to others around them. It may help with Burning Spice's identity as the being of change.
I also cannot bring myself to ship them, sorry. Would ship Burning Spice with a OC, tho-
Also since Silent Salt and White Lily's episode isn't out yet, I have nothing to say about their ship because I want to see the episode air and play through it enough to get a understanding of them.
With this in mind, I agree with most that say the Beasts can be redeemed with their Ancient counterparts giving them a push into the direction of being good and normal people.
It's just for some cookies (staring at Shadow Milk and Burning Spice) I can't really see getting romantic with their Ancient. Any other cookie (OCs included), yeah, but with the Ancient counterpart is just a no for me.
But yeah, there's my TED Talk on the Beasts x Ancients and pretty much my stance on shipping the Beasts in general.

The Push and Pull of Cas and Gabe (1/2)
(Okay, these guys live rent-free in my head so bear with me. Also this analysis has spoilers and headcanons, be warned.)
So pretty much everyone has been saying that Cas is being sidelined in this book and I think there's a reason for that.
Cas and Gabe are polar opposite people. Gabe is friendly, kind and warm, while Cas is snarky, mean and cold. (That's why people ship them together because opposites attract.)
At the end of Book 1, if you chose the poly route, essentially you're stringing them both along which they both are aware of and so they're competing even more.
While Gabe is competing by pulling you in closer and closer, Cas is sort of distancing themselves from you and I think there's some reasons for that:
They think MC is better off with Gabe in some way. Because if you choose the poly route in the end of Book 1, Cas says "I know you like Golden Boy/Girl but you like me too." Cas thinks that they're MC's second option.
They were hurt when the Venandis thought they were a traitor. When the Crimson Beech trio were on the run in Book 1 and they almost ran into the three of the Venandis, they overheard them saying that "Cas had been spending too much time with that human." Mind you throughout Book 1, Cas has been defending the Venandis to MC and Gabe and to hear that they thought so low and so little of him... it hurt them deeply. Cas thought that the Venandis were the only family they had and Venandis just accused them of being a traitor with no reason or evidence.
This is my headcanon here so bear with me: Cas is used to be abandoned all their life. They thought that the Venandis would have their back but they were wrong and since MC is with Gabe most of the time, they're worried that MC would abandon them next. So they distanced themselves first so that if MC does choose Gabe, it won't hurt so bad.
That's what I think is going on with Cas. The Canon story may not go into it like I did but us Fanfiction girlies can use these reasons. (And if you do decide to use this analysis for your fanfic, let me know and I'll read it 😊)
Gabriel(a) is next!

Note
I'm not a fan of poly ships, I don't understand them... but if this kind of ships stop the shipping wars then go for it guys! You want Link and Sidon together but you are mad that Sidon is with Yona? Put the 3 together! You want to include Zelda? Make it 4, or 5 if you wanna include Riju! Just, please stop fighting... it's tiresome looking through the blog in search for fan theories or silly stories you have with the game and find negative shipping content all the time! I like it when people make character analysis or share their silly headcanons or worldbuilding, it's something I'm really passionate about... ofc, you can keep sharing ship content, but we ALL need to try and keep it civil. Some comments come off as rude or ill intentioned and that kinda ruins the vibe of the blog in my honest opinion... side note: admin, you're doing the Lord's work, keep it going!

Media Analysis: Mickey 17, Polyamory, Consent, And a Question.
CW: Talk of sexual consent violation, and sexual assault. I watched Bong Joon Ho's newest film Mickey 17 yesterday just knowing that it was a sci-fi, about the ethical dilemmas of cloning, and that is what the main film is about. Mickey is reprinted over and over again each time he dies so only one version of himself exists at a time. Of course shenanigans ensue and there ends up being another version of Mickey that is printed while the first is still alive. These are 17 and 18. Now Mickey, on the ship, has a girlfriend named Nasha. Their relationship is very sexually charged, from the beginning they are very sexually active and both portray enthusiastic consent when engaging with each other. However, so far their relationship has existed in a monogamous 1 on 1 relationship, but now with there being a second Mickey running around, the relationship fundamentally shifts. Now to point out the elephant in the room, during this scene Nasha is high. It's a space drug so we really don't know what the effects are other than the fact that it's implied to impair cognition. This adds very little to the analysis because obviously inebriation does not make it so you are allowed to assault people, but considering that Nasha is a sympathetic character throughout the rest of the film, it's clear to me that Bong Joon Ho made this decision to give her a sort of plausible deniability for her actions that would not have been there if she was simply just sober. When the scene starts Nasha is already engaging in sex with 18, who told her about 17. It's implied that Nasha and 18 had already been having sex together and both were 'consenting' except for the fact that drugs were impairing them. They've known each other for awhile though and often enthusiastically consent to sex with each other so while neither had the cognitive function to consent, they were doing mutual harm to each other and nobody ends up the good guy. Then 17 enters the room, and Nasha proceeds to spend the rest of the scene pushing 17 into a polyamorous relationship he clearly does not want, undressing which he clearly does not want, and engaging in a 3 way which he is also clearly not comfortable with.
Now the main problem with the scene is we have an unreliable narrator. Mickey 17 clearly loves Nasha. He, from the beginning was infatuated with her. They hit it off in a way that was very sexually charged and therefore mutual sex was made as a way to form connection and became an expectation of the relationship. So does Mickey understand that he was being sexually assaulted by a partner? Mickey is so passive and so in love with Nasha that I'm almost certain if I asked him about this situation he would defend her saying that he should've been more open to the idea, but passivity does not give other people a right to violate consent. And the fact that Nasha was so enthusiastic about starting a polyamorous relationship and almost seemed as if to expect that a multiples violation would happen, it begs the question. We know Mickey started to date Nasha for the initial infatuation but did Nasha start dating Mickey out of a small hope that she would be able to start a poly relationship with multiple Mickeys and had just assumed that he would be okay with that. It's evident that if this is the case, Nasha did not communicate with her boyfriend AT ALL about this aspect. It's also clear that her version of polyamory is that of ownership. She fundamentally see the two Mickey's as being the same person and doesn't consider that they are two different people when engaging with them. So they're both 'her' boyfriend. But when someone who is outside the Mickey dynamic asks to share and be in a relationship with Mickey, her first immediate thought is to claim ownership and say that he's hers. The irony of this is, is that it comes directly after forcing someone into the relationship that 17 did not consent to just moments earlier. But Nasha is complicated and these are new ethical dilemas that are being raised as far as consent goes. Maybe Nasha thought there was enthusiastic consent because 18, who is more to the point and direct, enthusiastically consenting meant that 17 secretly wanted it and that his apprehension was just a momentary wall that he was putting up. Perhaps she assumed that Mickey was on the same page from the very beginning when approaching her for a relationship that this was a possibility of polyamory. And what's more is Nasha is in several more scenes then this and we see that for every version of Mickey printed she is willing to die for him, going so far as to stay in a test tube of nerve gas to be with a previous Mickey in his final moments, despite knowing that he would be printed out later. Does that action mean she does see each of the Mickey's as entirely separate people? Perhaps, or perhaps her view of whether the Mickey's are their own seperate people depends on what her intentions are. Or more charitably, maybe she starts the movie with the belief that both versions are the same and then after getting time to spend with the two of them in contrast she can see the differences in their perspective and learned to see them as different.
Either way there is a fundamental question I want to ask. Is it possible to love someone, completely, and violate their consent? Is it possible to view someone as an object to be owned and a person to be loved at the same time? I don't necessarily know the answer to these questions, but often times I think what people miss in abusive relationships, or more accurately, problematic relationships, is that at different points in time, people can view each other fundamentally different. There is a hypocrisy that is held in which a person in a romantic relationship is both simultaneously loved and objectified, and those doing the objectification either are looking for the not hypocrisy or actively have to engage in double think to believe both at the same time.
I don't fundamentally think Nasha is a bad person. I don't think she desires to hurt Mickey. But I think she needs to think about how she communicates with her partner/s and ask Mickey fundamental questions like what they want out of a relationship, what they are or aren't comfortable with, and what their goals are together.
