i may or may not have made full designs for mercs in an rp i'm doing...

here's them before i started colouring
most of these are pretty gimmicky on purpose, also i changed a cuple of stuff here and there
for the sake of the rp i designed these kill feeds (more or less inspired by those chat devices someone made for dsmp that one time) (it's a little primitive, but it only has to be functional)
there is a v.2 which has the form of a watch (you can see it on sniper, spy and engie) (it also has a mode where instead of sending notifications it vibrates, thought it would be fun for sneaking) (maybe it even has a walke talkie function, yk, for team comms) (i didn't draw but it's all fictional anyway)
i kept some on my hcs in these ddesigns too, like engi's and Pyro's special goggles and tails and
i also removed Medic's lab coat because... well... he doesn't have it on...
i removed Sniper's facial hair too because i ended up hating it hfsgfe

not dogs, but work stuff driving me insane rn: the enshittification of all our crucial and most used programs as person working for local government.
1.) it's so clear that so many of these companies did not hire UX designers whatsoever or anybody that is meant to give any consideration to usability of the program. why must we take everything that had a relatively neutral colored but non-white background with the fields being white boxes with lots of space to breathe and turn it all into the same horrible on my eyes white background with white fields (hard to use) that bump right up against each other (hard to use)??? These are programs i have to look at most of my day. i do not want them white on white. my eyes are searing just thinking about it. LET YOUR DATA FIELDS FUCKING BREATHE.
2.) the deletion of crucial infrastructure within the programs we use and eliminating administrative control. i. am. the head of my department! i need administrative control.
3.) lack of consideration to towns that aren't city/county populations. yeah in place with a million people you might have users doing it one way but you can't JUST cater to that and eliminate the older process that works for smaller towns/villages.
like i don't know what back end the older programs/portals were made with, they certainly look "more outdated" than the new versions but they are honestly so much more functional and pleasant to look at. the new ones seem to all be made with the same drag and drop back end and it's driving me to insanity because it's so limited it what it can make. and what it does make? Is ugly and extremely hard on my eyes.

Smile at the blue screen
Theme is like programmer`s error or make a smile and do programming. Positive theme. It is with blue screen. And, it is running little numbers 0 and 1. In a random way at the full screen. Just like, it is something like binary code.
Random numbers. And, around them, yellow circle is running. With a smile and with eyes, little eyes. A funny face. With a funny little music. Like 8 bit. Or 16 bit or Ms Dos little music from funny arcade game. As, something like, maybe, it was in Commandeer Keen or Cosmo Cosmic. Blue screen with 0 and 1. And, also, it is little like Norton Commander or Volkov Commander. Do programming - it is fun!
Blue screen. And, some error in code. And, such a little smile. I remember, it was April 2023. And, it was, already, a spring. Sky is becoming bright and light. It is starts to be, again, so blue and joyful. And, after programming, I find out myself at the streets, one a moment it was. And, I look at the sky. And, I was surprised. And, I, almost, to see these - 0 and 1 – and a little smile at the sky!
So, this is a theme, for positive. Visual theme. just a little program. And, it goes with a retro funny little music. And smile. And, with a random way, it shows a numbers pack made out with 0 and 1. At the blue screen. A little program. As short clip. For a fun and joy. And, for a positive. Practice with programming with programming language Qb64. For a good mood. For a free time! Spring theme, early spring theme. Maybe, even like a first of April. A day of a fool. Funny celebration event!
So, except videogames, it is new idea to do programming of these visual themes. Intros. Something like, programmable intros. Intros. So, new theme opens in terms of practice programming with Qb64. And, to find something new. Videogames – for some moment - it was understanding – that programming videogames, it is very long time duration process. And, maybe, hard. And to try something new. To expand theme. And to try something funny.
And, still in theme of programming. And with a funny way too. By the interest. And, fast way. And, to try what else it can be. Visual theme. Backgrounds. Music. How to change a background. How to play music. Or to try something else. To do intros – it is so funny. And, with a simple form. It is faster, than a videogame. As, it seems, for me. And, it is, also, interesting!
Simple visual theme. With a form of a program. And, also, it is about a theme - relaxing from programming. And with programming. Not a matrix, that was a movie. And, another way. Blue screen as a sky. And, there, it is flying a smile. Little smile! Make little smile! Make a little smile! And, you need to smile too! And, also, it is some code there. Unexplained, of course. Some stream with 0 and 1.
And, retro! Retro type blue screens as with computers from 90s. So, it is a show of a file in a blue screen. And, it is, even, possible to write a text. So, it was lots of things to do with that blue screen.
And, also, it is one thing, I do not say - it is, also, a positive. And, positive, positive moving forward! Smile! Yellow circle! Which is smiling to you! Not a Pacman, of course. But, a yellow circle, which makes a smile to you. And moves. A little.
Make a little smile! Little smile! Make a smile!

hey if i actually started developing my video game idea would you guys be interested if i posted about it on here
#personal#i'm balls deep in the early design phase i already have the gameplay figured out#working on a layout of the whole building with andy so i can get screenshots as references for what i need to draw for it#like again the programming is gonna be so hard and i will get so stuck on that WHSKGJFDGKDFK but i do really want to like#at LEAST get some sort of a demo running... blockout set up and all that. because it's just point and click and i CAN do that#i've done it in google slides before so how hard can it be to put that shit in unity instead#saving progress and whatnot with a working game manager will be a hurdle. and some of the puzzles are a bit intricate#but especially the simpler stuff like needing a key to open a door and all that. i've done that before i can just copy paste code#if i can get a demo to work i can pitch the idea to people... maybe go back to school and see if a teacher can help get me a team

ALLRIGHT! i fixed the shop menu! i like this WAY better!! instead of a random board with the whole menu on it, you have a nice vision of the menu, and a window where the shopkeeper will be ! it will have a more detailed sprite then i am used to tho.. which will be hard cause i am best at low detail small art. or at least big things in the same scale as my small things.
anyway now i'm gonna design the shopkeeper and i already have a bunch of lore for it!

I wasn't happy with the draft tileset currently being used for testing as it lacks cohesive style and colour contrast.
I'll post a more in depth look at some of the features of the new set in the next full devlog which will probably come in a few days! We also have an exciting announcement.. ✨💌

Addendum-120320A: Agents reported "unexpected" degree of resistance. Preliminary injuries logged. Mission proceeded without further complications.

Overview: Trainee's previously recorded paranoia exacerbated after preparation period. Roommates reported heightened stress unrelated to anticipation of mission; effect attributed directly to trainee. Arrangements for extraction made with regards to trainee's evals and Dr. (redacted)'s suggestions.
Proceeding:
Trainee exhibited remarkable contentiousness despite several injuries, including a fractured collarbone and mild concussion. Agents instructed to secure with force given trainee's well documented volatility. Mission hook revealed. Dr. (redacted) correctly predicted that trainee would fail to respond to accusations of collaborating, or otherwise spearheading, the information leaks. Agents instructed to proceed with physical methodologies.
Stalemate achieved approx. 0500 hours after agent Itamura di ("his hands on your this pulp is not yours"). Trainee made multiple attempts to ("retaliate / retribute / requiter / illegible text"). Evidently unsuccessful (See A-120320B below). Trainee continued to redirect attention away from mission hook, oftentimes inciting, and appearing to relish retribution from agents. Previous psychological evals point to this being a product of mere belligerence. [break] ("It's the only thing you're capable of.") Nevertheless, agents pursued this lead to its completion, as is protocol.
Agent Wallace discovered healing injuries unrelated to mission at the 0619 hour mark. Injuries appear to be self-inflicted in nature, located in both inner arms. It was surmised that [break] teeth [break] match ("you didn't mean to but it happened what kind of person do this it just happened" "you" "tear into" "fuck off") unexpected emotional and psychological reactions. Agents authorized to remove part of trainee's sleeve in order to continue the interrogation.
