Im considering starting a zine or something to help promote artists and writers on Tumblr because there's a lot of cool ones that don't get a lot of notes and/or need financial help.
Im gonna see if anyone's interested before I start putting anything together seriously
I was thinking starting out with a one-time issue to see if its successful and makes sales and if it is make it a regular thing, maybe every few months?
I don't really have experience and I would need a lot of help putting it together but I think it could help a lot of my fellow creators get the recognition and support they need.
Tagging my friends, mutuals, and favorite art and writing blogs to see if anyone is interested. If you are, please feel free to comment or reblog! Sorry if I missed anyone. All artists welcome
rules: it’s time to love yourselves! choose your 5 (ish) favorite works you created in the past year (fics, art, edits, etc.) and post or link them below to reflect on the amazing things you brought into the world in 2020. tag as many writers/artists/etc. as you want (fan or original) so we can spread the love and link each other to awesome works!
i'm pretty proud of myself for how far i've come this year! i'm glad i came back to traditional painting as well - i missed making physical pieces.
(i'm probs not gonna tag anyone, because i don't follow a whole lot of folks on here, but if you wanna do this challenge, you can say i tagged you!!)
if you wanna see more art, you can check out my art tumblr @rdshepardcreations! you can also find my other links here.
i haven't been writing or making art a whole lot but i found that easy, cute little stuffed frog pattern from last year and decided to make some weird little guys today
Our (my mother and I) tree for the ArtisTREES art show this year is a dedication to the transgender community, both to the 35 transgender Americans that have been senselessly taken from us this year alone and to the transgender Americans that are still fighting for their rights to this day.
Each white bulb lists the name and age of a transgender person who was killed by transphobia in the year 2022. The pyramid tree-topper is an homage to the HIV/AIDS campaign by ACTUP in the 1980s, when the Reagan administration failed to respond quickly enough to the ongoing HIV/AIDS epidemic in the United States.
i've been working on this one for a few days as a holiday present for my love. he lost his dad to suicide a little over a year ago, and he shared this song with me when he was having a particularly grief-driven time last month. the lyrics really stood out to me, especially knowing how kind-hearted my big bear is despite dealing with so much on his plate all the time. i really hope he loves it - i wanted to put my heart and soul into something good for him.
his birthday is also in December, so i've gotta come up with something else for him so he doesn't feel like i'm just mixing the two holidays. 😂 i'll likely just find him a new hoodie because he loves comfy clothes. 💛
started working on a new song last night. with everything going on in the news qbout attacks on LGBTQ people, my anxiety's been pretty high, so i've been trying to write out my emotions.
