This isn’t even a surprise anymore but the Genshin Impact community is just….a cesspool. While it’s not everyone, it’s still pretty disturbing to see how many people practically have their lives centered around this game. Some times seeing the things people say and do in this community is extremely similar to a cult mindset.

And no, I’m not talking about the Natlan boycott or the SAG-AFTRA boycott either. It’s a fact that of course over time media shifted away from the genocide in Palestine especially when America is allied with Israel. I still get plenty of real time updates of what’s been happening over there, just recently there was a video where Israeli settlers attacked a school.

Now Genshin is having another collab with McDonald’s again in America which everyone is participating in because of those oh so exclusive wings we saw apart of the KFC event with Lyney and Lynette. I myself wanted them too and hoped they would’ve been at the KFC’s in America some day or at least given out as a code for players to collect.

But no. They chose McDonald’s who has actively been funding the genocide. The genocide that others seemed to have forgotten. The genocide that they dare to say isn’t real when people—even those who play Genshin have been directly affected by. Human lives aren’t political. That person who let you into their world to farm for materials likely isn’t here anymore or stopped playing due to worrying over loved ones who are still trapped.

Many civilians lost their lives and many are still at risk. It seems that people in the Genshin community aren’t human because they have no empathy or humanity. They don’t care about anything or anyone except for themselves. They don’t care about the VAs who work their asses off for this game. They don’t care if the money they put into a collab funds a genocide that also affects people within their community. They don’t any shame, humility, or a single brain cell to process half of the racist, bigoted, and disgusting words that come out of their mouth to think “Is this really okay to say?”

They don’t care about actual people but god forbid Hoyo or someone messes with a video game character. No, they will actually physically harm someone over a video game character. That’s not even an exaggeration, that’s already happened before when someone attempted to harm someone from Hoyo (You all know who) after the Honkai Impact Bunny Girl incident.

They care more about some big breasted anime character that they would sell their own mother just to C6 that character. While some of us have crappy moms, trading human life for something that won’t even last long is just embarrassing. If you want to say I’m complaining, okay Jan whatever makes you feel better about yourself. You complain, I complain, we all complain, but there’s a limit of how much bull a sane person can take. I’m stuck in the middle of an election watching two idiots trying to out-idiot the other. I’ve invested money into this game before, I’ve enjoyed the game but I’m not selling my humanity for a game that’s not even going to last forever.

Do whatever you want with the games but for the love of whoever the heck you believe in—look in the damn mirror. Saying “Get help” and “Touch grass” is overdone to death at this point, remember that you are a human being with only ONE life. Anything can happen to where you’re laughing or screaming from losing your 50/50 to Qiqi to being bombed the next second.

You have a life outside of this game. If you have no friends or family, that’s okay—it sucks but that doesn’t mean life is over. While so much crap is happening, so many things are leaving this world. Things and people that we took for granted.

Enjoy the game, but don’t forget that you are human being with one life.

None of us are ever getting Isekai’d anytime soon so make the most with what you have left.

The Red Devil’s Chronicles’ March & April 2023 DMC News Updates: PoC, Trend, Merch, And More

Hey, how’s it going? Here are some more Devil May Cry news updates I’ve collected in the past couple months: 1. The Peak of Combat mobile game has made progress. You can find all of their latest updates and announcements on their Youtube channel.

2. Megaman collabing with Devil May Cry V.

3. Capcom had a spotlight survey that went for 2 weeks, with Devil May Cry being on the list.

4. Prime1Studio making more Devil May Cry V merch. b) Including NabeHands making more Devil May Cry figures. c) And there’s now Devil May Cry Vinyl records.

5. Vergil and Nero trended on Twitter for a bit.

6. Lady's Devil May Cry 3 and 4 voice actress Kari Wahlgren won an award.

7. New CAPCOM artwork featuring Dante and Nero. 8. KFC Spain showed off a Vergil cosplayer ordering some KFC.

My Thoughts On These Updates:

1. It’s not just their Youtube channel you can check out the latest things happening with Peak of Combat, but there’s also their Twitter page which includes polls at times. I saw one poll that baffled me where they asked which gaming device they preferred us to slay demons on. SamSung phones won by a looooong shot compared to the other options which were iPhone, PC, and gaming console. I commented saying that I prefer both PC and gaming console, but chose gaming console since it’s what I grew up with.

2. So many Devil May Cry V collabs. It’s cool but it would be nice if the other Devil May Cry games can have turns collabing as well. I’m aware DMC4 and DMC1 had some collab events before, but DMCV seems to be the only thing that’s getting the most collabs.

3. It sucks that in order to take the survey you had to be a CAPCOM member...I know it’s free and keeps a record on how many fans are interested in their products, but it annoys me when you have to sign up for stuff in order to participate in something that you know you won’t often take part in and your profile just sits there. Not just CAPCOM but other companies as well.

4. It’s cool how Prime1Studio’s going strong and still coming out with new Devil May Cry V merch, 4 years after its release. Then again, Devil May Cry V is still expanding in popularity. I just had my cousin tell me recently that one of her friends is a huge Vergil fan but has never played any of the games, and this friend finally bought all the games and plans to play them whenever he gets the time. b) NabeHands has been doing an amazing job on the figures. Looking forward to more Devil May Cry figure projects from them. c) I wonder what the Devil May Cry tunes would sound like on a record player or jukebox (also huge congrats to the fan artist StelarPidgin for being a part of the project by making the artwork for the records). I’ve heard people argue that they prefer the sound of music on a record player or jukebox compared to a cassette tape or CD player (even speakers from a laptop or phone). I don’t have a jukebox and record player myself but I remember my one grandmother having a record player before it got really old and worn out, and I can kinda remember that the music was nice and clean with the right touch of bass compared to other music playing systems. 

5. Usually it would be just Dante, Devil May Cry, or DMC that would be trending on Twitter. It’s nice to see the other characters from the series taking the trending spotlight.

6. Big congrats to Kari Wahlgren for her award. She is a great voice actress. Speaking of her, I still need to find out why she didn’t get credited for voicing as Lady in DMC3 and 4.

7. With CAPCOM showing off more Devil May Cry in their advertising shows how popular of a series it is, and gives a bit more hope about more future titles coming sooner than later.

8. It’s really cool and interesting to see when restaurant chains recognize certain media and implement them into their advertising, promotions, etc.

 The BIG news is that the Zaby has a NAME: Baby Khai! We found out late last night because Gigi changed her insta bio to “Khai’s mom”, and thoroughly shocked us all by doing so! Turns out, “Khai” means “royalty”, which she basically *is*, isn’t she - even if “Malik” DIDN’T mean king! Zayn tattooed baby Khai’s name to his wrist, and Zstans on twitter are SWOONING, but all of that swoon quickly switched focus when Zayn showed up on instagram to take over for Billboard. Honestly, it’s very cute! There are a BUNCH of videos of him in his electric blue hair, unpacking cardboard cutouts of the NIL art, riding a four wheeler outside (at the farm?), and telling fans to stream NIL over various tracks. He also rocked and awesome NIL beanie (swipe up for merch!) and a multi-colored “Z Vision'' Snapchat filter that looks a lot like infrared vision, and then he ended the social media heavy day with an instagram post of him in a UFC hat, saying “who’s as excited as me @UFC?” Honestly? Liam, probably. Or Harry and Louis, if they like WATCHING boxing as much as they like practicing the sport!  

We got to hear more about Niall’s history with JC Stewart: “We were both working with the same producer at the time and it just happened...by the end of the song I’m like ‘did we just write a song together?’’. JC Stewart goes on to say that while this song was written over email (from different rooms!) rather than in person, they’ve “hung out loads” because JC used to live with one of Niall’s best friends and sometimes Niall would just be chillin’ in the kitchen of their “grotty apartment” eating their beans. “I’m like, ‘surely you have nicer places to be?”, JC jokes. Ah, but could he be shirtless in those nice places? Likely so but STILL! Meanwhile on twitter, Niall said that most of his songs are first written as a piano ballad and then changed to fit the tempo, he confirmed he would be going to the Masters (a golf tournament) if they let him in (is...anyone surprised by this?), and he said “Yeahhhhhhhhhh” about ANNEMARIE DISHING ON THEIR COLLAB! “I love him, and I love the songs we did,” she told Hits Radio today. Uh, surely she can’t just leave it at that!! Tell us MORE please!! 

And speaking about DISHING on the guys, a former SNL crew member talked about the boys’ requests when they visited the show (as a band, though I’m pretty sure fans who were asking about Harry wanted to know about his solo show lmao). He said that the guys were - surprise, surprise - OBSESSED with KFC, and that once, they ordered FIFTY buckets of chicken (“I get it, they’re growing boys, but who could finish that much??”), and then they, uh, didn’t finish it, so they asked the crew to give it to the fans waiting in line for the show: “those fans got One Direction leftovers!”. He also says he vividly remembers Harry’s golden Saint Lauren boots and that H can “rock a pair of skinny jeans” (and what he means by that is that every jaw drops!). He also mentioned that the guys got a haircut IN the dressing room and the hairstylist did not clean it up: “Be honest, how much would you pay for a lock of Harry Styles’ hair?” Uh, honestly? You couldn’t pay me to keep it! 

Elsewhere, Walls became the #1 Pop Best Seller on both CDs and Vinyl Amazon after a UA tweeted that it was back in stock (KING SHIT!), Isaac Anderson (Louis’ guitarist!) reminisces on a concert with Louis from a year ago, ET insists that the Holiva pap pictures from Jeff’s wedding were “absolutely not leaked or staged for some sort of promotional reason”, but were instead spontaneous happenstance so keep that in mind next time you think about considering them a reliable source, we got a massive amount of previous unseen videos released by Dunkirk’s stunt director (like..he directs physical stunts, not...oh, you know what I mean!) of H goofing off with the Dunkirk cast and crew including leggings clad workout shots, boxing, bundled up for the cold babie Harry and one where he’s feeding a crew member a massive slice of...tomato? I think there’s a fruit joke somewhere in there, but I leave it to you to make it!

I remember a while back the English server asked about what collabs people would like to see with MLQC and then shortly after the CN and JP servers got a Disney collab event - what kind of collabs do you see there being in the future? And do you think it could differ for other servers? And most importantly, what collabs do YOU want to see? (Regardless if how realistic the prospect is)

HMM CN has collaborated with partners ranging from Disney to KFC, so the only limit seems to be Papergames’ imagination :> I can definitely see collabs differing from servers perhaps due to licensing issues!

I’m easily contented when it comes MLQC so I’m fine with anything as long as they're happy and look good :’D If I had to pick, I’d hope they collab with a clothing brand and we get to see them decked out in fashionable outfits 👀

First and foremost, it boggles the mind how KFC was the fast food franchise of choice to collab with for a Cookie Run game. I know Japan's deal with KFC (even though that's mostly around the Holiday quarter) and I remember how KFC in China had that Final Fantasy collab/campaign where if you could eat a family-sized meal (complete with drinks) by yourself in one sitting, you would get a code for a golden Chocobo, but I didn't think KFC was that popular in S. Korea. The more you know.

Author’s Note: This was written for uncomfie’s writing challenge several moons ago. The prompt I chose is #5 “You should really be more specific sometimes.”

You refused to call yourself a YouTuber simply because you didn’t take it seriously. The grind of providing constant content, editing said content and then dealing with all the hate that comes from being popular… it all sounded like an absolute nightmare to you. You just wanted to make whatever you felt like at the time without worry. Because of this, your channel only had just over two hundred subscribers and most of your videos didn’t even break fifty views. Your channel was honestly a mess of all kinds of fandoms – video games, fan-made music videos, collections, cats. There was no set theme of any kind.

Even so, you were happy. You posted what you wanted without having to worry about if the video would do well or not, or if it was family friendly. With all of this in mind, you were shocked when a larger YouTuber reached out to you wanting to collab on a video. Now, you had been following Call Me Kevin for a while and he was one of your absolute favorite YouTubers, so being invited to game with him? You just couldn’t pass up that opportunity.

This decision caused the wheels of fate to turn.

While your channel did gain a few more subs, you didn’t reach popularity, thankfully. Even so, Kevin had a lot of fun playing with you that it slowly morphed into a regular thing. He didn’t always record the gameplay, though – sometimes the two of you just hung out on discord and played.

This exposure did open you up to a few other YouTubers, most of whom you had never heard of. However, when one of the biggest YouTubers, Markiplier, contacted you, you found it hard to believe.

You thought it was a scam, but Kevin encouraged you to respond to the message. Mark claimed that he would be visiting your hometown soon and would love to meet up with you for a video. Hesitantly, you agreed to meet at the local Gamestop, not willing to give out your address to someone you didn’t know, famous or not.

When you entered the store, you were pleasantly surprised to find the actual Markiplier standing at the back of the store talking to a couple of people whom you assumed were fans. Not wanting to be rude and interrupt them, you browsed through the PS4 games, looking for anything that jumped out to you.

A tap on your shoulder broke your thoughts and you turned, coming face to face with Mark himself. “You’re Y/N, right?”

Your brow furrowed in confusion. How did he know that? You had never revealed your face in any videos and you didn’t have any social media accounts.

He sensed your concern, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly. “Ethan was worried that you might chicken out so he dug up a photo of you from a few years back.” He paused. “I swear that didn’t sound quite as creepy in my head…”

When he showed you the photo, you started to laugh. It was one your friend had taken of the two of you at an anime convention. They had posted it without your knowledge and, after you found out, they made a joke about how ironic it would be if one of your subscribers managed to find the picture.

He wasn’t sure why you were laughing, but it made him relax just a bit.

“Sorry, that picture just reminded me of something.” You apologized, offering him a smile. “Yes, I’m Y/N. I saw you talking to some fans and didn’t want to be rude.”

“Ah,” he glanced back at the couple as they stood in line. “They actually had no idea who I was. They’re buying a game for their son’s birthday and didn’t know which Call of Duty is the latest.”

“Oh… awkward…”

“Yeah,” he laughed, holding out his hand. “Mark Fischbach, better known as Markiplier. It’s nice to meet you!”

“I look forward to working with you,” You placed your hand in his.

You never would have guessed the path unlocked by that single handshake.

Two years later and you were now sharing a house with Mark who had quickly become your best friend. Although you did occasionally post to your own channel, most of your time was spent helping him with his own videos or just keeping Chica company while he filmed.

You were sitting on the living room floor with Chica’s head lying on your knee. Mark was filming a video so you were taking some time to browse through the endless amount of comments on his last video and deleting any spam that you found.

Mark poked his head out of the recording room. “I’ve got another video I need to shoot. Do you mind grabbing us some lunch? My treat.”

“Sure. What did you have in mind?”

He hummed in thought, “I’m in a chicken mood.”

“From?”

“Surprise me,”

“You got it, boss.” You saluted him.

“Thank you, Y/N.” He chuckled before disappearing back into the room.

You glanced down at Chica, patting her head. “Up for a little car ride?”

She jumped up, wagging her tail excitedly as she ran to the front door. Chica was honestly such a well behaved dog that she never needed to be on a leash, she would always stay close to you or Mark and would never run off. Still, you knew how anal people could be when it came to dogs not on leashes, so you made sure to leash her up before leaving the house.

As you waited at the light, your hands tapped the steering wheel in thought. On the right side of the road stood a KFC, and on the left side stood a Popeyes. A little further down was a Church’s. You hummed thoughtfully before a grin overtook your lips. Chica tilted her head at you, knowing that you were thinking something weird.

After grabbing the food and getting compliments about how cute Chica is, you returned to the house to find Mark sitting on the couch looking at your laptop. She rushed inside and tackled her owner, making both of you laugh.

“Did you have fun, Chica?” He questioned, holding her head between his hands. “Did Y/N remember to fasten your seatbelt?”

She lifted her paw and placed it over his arm as if to say, ‘Dad, no, stop’

You smile at the pair, setting the bags of food on the coffee table.

Mark tilted his head as he examined the purple taco bell logo on the bag. “I might be wrong, but I don’t think that’s chicken.”

You tsked, wagging your finger at him. “Wrong! Chicken tacos and two chicken quesadillas.”

“I thought you were going to a chicken place…?”

“All you said was ‘chicken’ and that is technically chicken. And you did want me to surprise you, so~”

“That is true,”

You sat beside him on the couch, patting his head. “You really should be more specific, sometimes.”

Mark chuckled, bumping his shoulder into yours as he bit into the taco, “Noted. Thank you for the food, Y/N~”

“Anytime, Markimoo~” You grinned, pulling apart the quesadilla.

He walked towards the bed and sat right next to you “I love you Y/n, and I’m sorry I haven’t been a good boyfriend these past few months.”

“I’m sorry too....I’ve been so unreasonable and insecure. It’s just that...” you sighed “I’m just afraid of losing you since we’re always apart and you’re always collaborating with beautiful idols.... it’s hard not to get frantic sometimes”

Everyone in AOT can die and ill be alright, but as soon as a KFC sign enters my field of view? guaranteed breakdown. Tbh, maybe its me being easily impressed by anything, but I've never seen better written characters than in JJK. i know lots of people hate the aot ending but i found it appropriate and bitter. yeah it's not perfect but it's not as horrible as people make it out to be. i wish we had more chapters, it felt p rushed but still, thinking about all the other manga endings, aot falls to a decent place imo

omg dont get me started on the camera thingy. i watched fleabag before the office and ugh i just keep staring into the void, it's so fun especially with how i constantly narrate everything in my head

Fall Guys developer Mediatonic knows the world loves its new party game and is wasting no time in using the indie title as a platform for good. The studio has announced a contest to benefit UK charity Special Effect, which works to provide games, consoles, and modded peripherals to those with disabilities.

The contest is open to game studios and other brands looking to promote their products in Fall Guys, which is currently the most-watched game on Twitch and the third most-played game on Steam behind only Valve’s own CS:GO and Dota 2. To enter, brands can bid on how much they’d be willing to donate to Special Effect. The highest bidder wins.

The contest is open for the next two weeks. After the highest bidder makes its donation, Mediatonic will incorporate the pitched skin into the game.

Even before Mediatonic announced the contest, there were many brands trying to seize on the game’s viral energy, pitching their own Fall Guys skins for fun, so you can imagine how much fiercer the pitches are getting now that the crossover skin opportunities are official. Quite a few studios have made bids to have their games appear as Fall Guys skins.
