happy fifty second birthday, river,

river, i just want to say thank you once again for the influence you’ve been to me for the currently, past nine years. since i was eleven years old to now, a girl freshly in her twenties (twenty years old to be exact). it’s crazy to think that i’m almost twenty three.

it will forever break my heart that i will never get the chance to see you alive and living, i am forever jealous of the people who got to do so. the chance in getting to enjoy the experience of actually going to the movie theatres to see a movie of yours as it was recently released, getting to collect all the teen beat, tiger beat magazines and having your magazine clippings (like i know, i would of keanu too)! plastered all over my bedroom walls or even, getting the surprise of getting the chance to even maybe meet you in public and getting to share the story and say, “i met river phoenix.”

and so far, i’ve done exactly that, i may have not gotten to meet you but i have been collecting and purchasing numerous of older magazines that feature you of the eighties but unlike other magazines, i keep them in the plastic magazine cover and refuse to look at them other than through said plastic so i don’t ruin it. or, even staring at my two posters of you on my bedroom walls, the vinyls i have that rain released in tribute to you, the movies of yours i have along with the t shirts. i even found my own version of mikey’s iconic red barn jacket that i was quite obsessed with wearing, myself.

i know that i will always try my best in continuing to pay tribute to you in numerous ways, whether it was going vegan for five years but previously, vegetarian for three to four, getting a tribute tattoo once i turn twenty three (in three years!), whether on your birthday or mine or the joy of having a son and naming him river jude.

it was in january of this year, that i was immensely heartbroken… the viper room is soon scheduled to be demolished and that hurts to think that, the place i normally always have myself make a quick stop to when visiting los angeles to pay tribute is now, going to be gone.

i don’t know a way but will eventually, try my best in doing so to pay tribute. other ways, is the fan pages i have, whether it’s partly on here along with multifandoms, my twitter fan page or my instagram one or tiktok. i cannot believe how somewhat popularity growing my page on instagram is, a lot of followers and fans that are huge fans of you, river and rightfully so.

i wish i got the chance to tell you, thank you especially for the genuine and down to earth person that you were, a talented actor who like keanu, is truly genuine. sometimes, i feel like since you died, the only kindest soul is the acting industry that i can remember off the top of my head and are my personal favorites are keanu and selena but i’m definitely sure there’s more.

i’m truly sorry for the things you had went through where you felt substance use was the only source of a coping mechanism, you truly deserved better and it hurts that you died so young when you had a great future ahead of you.

rest in peace river and once again, thank you for the kindest guy with a beautiful soul. and like amelie, i will always remember you and hold you dear to my heart as you will always be forever loved and missed. happy fifty second birthday, river jude phoenix.

river, i’m not going to lie… it breaks my heart when halloween comes around because then, the thought of you leaving this earth arrives into my brain.

as a kid, halloween was something i thought was fun particularly with trick or treating and costumes but now, it’s such a bittersweet day especially with being a fan of yours.

halloween truly will never be the same to me again, i wish with all my heart that there was a chance you got to survive that moment. there will always be a lot of “what ifs,” for me when it comes to you, just like i say of my cousin and of selena quintanilla among others.

whenever the subject of actors and actresses or celebrities overall who had great potential but suffered an unfortunate fate especially whom were total sweethearts, you are no doubt the first to come to mind. it hurts to wish and hope that this is just a dream and that you’ll be alive but i remember it’s not.

oftentimes, i’ll have very vivid moments of dreams whether in sleep or daydreams and they’ll include you in quite a few. some of them involve of an alternative reality where you along with selena are alive, the thought of what hollywood would look like if it was true.

and to have the envision of you as big time actor who is so well known, continually withholding the best friend and soulmate bonds with keanu and martha as well as costarring with little brother, joaquin.

whenever, i think of things like this, the theory that leonardo got your career cannot seem to leave my mind once it was entered. it makes me curious if it’s truly true, i could definitely see both sides on why some people believe it and others do not or are unsure.

i find it admirable when i remember that leonardo himself had mentioned how you were an acting influence to him especially growing up, like other various actors had such as jared leto. especially when it came to leonardo as he’s considered among some of the best actors in hollywood, something i no doubt believe that to be true of you and dear keanu.

"My hope is that by next Monday we will have a ceasefire" says President Biden, as if this is not his fault. As if the weight of thousands of Palestinian lives do not rest squarely on his shoulders. As if he wasn't directly responsible for arming the IDF in their plight to eradicate an entire civilization. As if tens of thousands of people are not dead because of his own complicity. As if America hasn't vetoed the call for a ceasefire multiple times. Thousands upon thousands of people have been working towards peace, trying to pitch in with anything they have to help the Palestinians in crisis. Children have died. Queer people have died. Innocents have died. 29,000 dead, 70,000 injured, 1.7 million displaced from their home. And Biden has the gall to say "my hope," as if this couldn't have ended months ago if only he had the moral guts to call off his dogs in Israel. He's a coward, a war mongering idiot and worse.

It's my hope that a ceasefire is achieved as soon as possible. If and when it happens, it will be in spite of Biden. Not because of him. Do not forget the people who called themselves allies of Israel. You won't be able to trust them, not ever again.
