CONFESSION:

I was so awed by Reyes' charms when Andromeda first came out, but can't help but see things differently now. As fun as his romance is, I feel like it has some very unhealthy red flags that often get overlooked. Reyes is very manipulative, becomes obsessed with Ryder quickly, and is a control freak as well. He laughs off a lot of Ryder's concerns and doesn't have a single dialogue where he says the word 'sorry', despite everything. It just makes it seem like Ryder is this young and naive fool who goes along with whatever he says, then gets hurt in the end. At least they can put their foot down after the big reveal, and in turn, the relationship dynamic seems to become healthier over time. I'm not saying it's wrong to like him or his romance, because he's very well written and interesting, but there's no denying the origins of their relationship are incredibly sketchy.

its always transmasc or nb in fandom. you notice that right? never transfem unless they wanna use it for smut fanfic. thats why it’s disheartening for me.

a character could be amab and not feel right in their gender and then theyre hc as transmasc. then theyre afab and not feel right in their gender, then theyre still transmasc

ive seen so many blatantly transfem characters be called transmasc instead or nb. do you guys ever stop and wonder if us transfem people might want representation in fandom as well? sometimes it feels like other queerpeople feel the need to take that from us and i don’t want to feel like that but its what it feels like :(

ive seen plenty of characters with top surgery scars which is great but not a single one with e shot bruises

and if anyone wants to awknowledge the femininity then its to call them a femboy, which is derogatory and would be negating the femininity and sexualizing them as a fetish

then when characters like jason todd have characteristics that could be more on the feminine side we only call them “female coded” disregarding actual female characters but i never see “transfem coded” which would actually hold up very well if you turned that pain to power. but we never do because we weirdly see binary transfemininity as weak. we can never just let a character be a girl.

if you agree i urge you to reblog this with character(s) you think are transfem and why. rant on please. id love to read it. theres a lot of debate on if a character even needs a reason to be hc as trans but honestly it would compel me if there were actual things in canon that contributed to this idea. and to add to that people will be like “we don’t need reasons to hc a character as trans” and the second you say a character is transfem theyre like “theyre not transfem to me thooo” it’s crazy how the energy is different…

i just got reminded of Raven wanting Clarke to kill Lexa in the middle of the cult in front of them all to save Finn... explain to me how Raven thought this was going to go well? how it wouldn't wipe everyone out?

like good god Clarke had to walk through a good portion of an army of people that really don't like her or her people (because they defended themselves) with a weapon and came to the correct conclusion that killing lexa in front of them all is a fucking dumbass move and so she did the only thing she could and spared Finn some pain

and wasn't this the reason that Raven punched Clarke?

like i can find explanations for this in the depths of raven's grief; she's always been one to do outlandish things in order to ensure those she loves survive (see: her torturing lincoln as a prisoner of war for the cure to finn's poison) but this grace extended to her is never extended to clarke.

clarke couldn't just think of finn; finn who had just committed a genocide against an unarmed village with the additional guilt of the realization that he'd done it, in his mind, for her. raven doesn't have that guilt & raven is not responsible for anyone but herself. clarke doesn't have that luxury & in the end, clarke made the right decision.

this was also the reason that raven punched clarke because once again, she reacts violently to things but it's always clarke who's seen as a loose canon as if she doesn't try the peaceful option first. there's no apology after this, no acknowledgement on raven's behalf that it was a tough situation for clarke to be in & that clarke loved him too.

i can understand raven's motivations, but that doesn't make them any more excusable in how she treated clarke for yet again sacrificing part of herself in order to ensure everyone else lives while raven acts in her own interests. it takes raven seven seasons to finally begin to see it from clarke's side & even then, she martyrs clarke still.

Definitely! I was kind of rolling my eyes during that scene as well as Calian and Lucia's "date". I know there's a certain amount of literary license, but they've been so accurate with everything else, the lack of propriety pulled me out of the story for a bit. Luckily, Kate was there to draw me back in.
