me watching some of yall complain about how we lost the plot bc suddenly percy has 4 pearls instead of one like we didn't hear him begging his friend to take his mom and leave him behind in the preview like. do u think rick is just going to forget the prophecy has to be fulfilled. do u think rick is not going to take every opportunity he can to make the angst worse??? that man is going to make them lose one or break it somehow so that way the choice of who stays and who leaves is even more devastating
the problem with all these white authors like rick riordan who are revealing their stances on the israel-palestine apartheid is that they barely do anything but virtue signal when they claim “i’m on the side against war” “i’m anti-violence” “i abhor terrorism.” zero people are going to disagree with you. zero people believe what hamas did is justified. zero people think israel shouldn’t have a right to defend itself against terrorism. but that isn’t what israel is doing when they collectively punish all of palestine, who doesn’t even have an official army. when rick riordan says some wishy-washy bullshit about the violence suffered on both sides of the conflict, and words his whole dumbass blog post like it’s violence that is in any way equal, that literally helps no one. in fact, it’s so damn negligent of the 75 years of violence that palestine has suffered and been oppressed for. yes, there are innocent civilians in israel who are suffering, no one is disagreeing with you. that doesn’t erase the fact that israel is a disgusting state that has used state-sanctioned violence on a systemic scale since its conception, and the oppressed people have responded to that in violent retaliation (because OBVIOUSLY they would). israel is built on the subjugation of palestine, there is no equal suffering between the two.
Imagine putting your heart and soul into a project because you love the source material, but have to work around certain scenarios because they won’t really translate well to screen, which is fine because you’ve gotten help/blessings from the ORIGINATOR of said source material so you’re feeling really good about everything. Maybe you wish you could change somethings, but you’re proud of the story that you’ve told and how true it is to the HEART OF THE STORY…
Only to then read that some of the fans of said source material think the show is awful and (somehow??) worse than the bad movie adaptations that disregarded the heart of the material (the actually STORY), all because of a casino and either adding or dropping minor story beats.
In TTC, we see Thalia using the Mist, right? And later on, Percy tries to use it too, on Rachel. So my question is: did his attempt not work because he cannot control the mist like Thalia? Or does he somehow subconsciously know how to use it, and it didn't work on rachel because she is clear sighted?
All Im saying is in the Percy Jackson show when Luke dies they better play You’re Somebody Else by flora cash and show a scattered montage of Luke, annabeth, and Thalia, especially just like and annabeth as the siblings they used to be before everything went wrong and the. The rift growing between them with the years passing and a Timelapse of Thalia’s three and then annabeth starts to cry and Percy just. Doesnt know how to help at all. And the end of the song is annabeth standing in the room but it seems like she’s so alone
My issues with the gods of Percy Jackson/Heroes of Olympus:
*warning ⚠️ in coming rant, sorry if you love the books. I'm probably not going to make any sense*
I have abandonment and loyalty issues. So it really pisses me off and triggers me how the gods treat their kids and wives in the books. And notice how most of the demi god children parents are males. It's just I hate it. My birth father abandoned my brother, my mother and I. He's was married to someone else and had kids already. And who knows how many much more by now? My mother had to constantly beg/nag him to spend time with us, to give us things we need. To help her as a single mother to young to be a mother. And while reading the books as a young tween/teen I just I hated the gods in the book. I hated the concept of the camp and a the kids and teens being hurt by all these monsters because the gods who can't fucking control themselves! Like I get Luke's anger and related to his feelings (and some dark part of me cheered him on) but over all he was going to screw himself and everyone who joined him over eventually. Also I'm just I'm all about loyalty, and I hate cheating! Maybe I'm old fashioned in that concept. But loyalty is important to me, especially as a romance lover. I always loves Hades and Persephone's story in Greek mythology, so reading what happens in the books, hated it. If I could rewrite the books I'd make Nico and Bianca Hades and Persephone's children that were kidnapped by another and turned into mortals/demigods. Basically the plot of Disney's Hercules. The books as a concept was intriguing to read after binge reading the harry potter series. But I soon quickly lost interest and got angry after reading the battle of the labyrinth. Just so many things kept getting me angry and sad. Like Greek Mythology to me is a double edge sword. I love these tales. But not when people put too much of a modern sense to it because it doesn't work. Because no matter what way you put it, most of these gods are terrible, horrible beings. Greek Mythology is fun because this is a glimpse into another time. Something fantastic and other worldly that you can spin to have better or more tragic ending. But when you make it too modern, it hits too close to home for me. Especially with gods and their kids.
(Don't like don't read. Post hate and I'll block you)
you see, there's the possibility that episode 4 is good (judging from the trailer, the chimera fight might actually be fun to watch), but there's also the possibility that they cut the train scene where annabeth talks about architecture and building something permanent for pacing purposes
CHALICE OF THE GODS COMES OUT FUCKING TOMORROW OMG MY YOUNGER SELF IS CLIMBING UP THE FUCKING WALLS RIGHR MOW GIRLIE LIVED AND BREATHED EVERYTHING RICK RIORDAN WROTE I CANT WAIT TO READ IT AIFJSKSK PERCY JACKSON COME BACK TO ME
God I just fucking love Percy Jackson so much like as a franchise it’s so beautiful and inclusive but also it’s just such a flexible world and it’s so workable as a fanfiction writer and it fits into pretty much any crossover because it works as a light, fun story but it’s also so horrifying but because the actual books don’t lean into those aspects as much you don’t have to either but you can if you want to and it’s so OC-friendly and there are so many gods with potential for parenthood and even the parts of the world that aren’t quite mythology accurate can be edited because it’s gods are concepts not people and they can be plenty of things all at once and it’s not like the actual books are all that consistent either and whdlwodjkwnd I love this series so much it’s incredible and beautiful and Rick Riordan did so much good by publishing the entire franchise
