I burnt out for a bit, so I did crochet nonstop for a couple months, then returned to dice with renewed vigor. I'm happy to be back. 😀

I am giving myself the goal to work at least à little bit on my side project each day. This side project being a game made with RPG Maker FES on my 3DS. It's a "classic" rpg in which you end up killing god, possibly. I've started it because I never made a "classic" rpg and I wanted to not make something with an ocerly complicated story (sike, I'm already thinking of a sequel). It's called Archaengel of Hel : Memories of the Empty (shoutout for RM FES' censorship for not letting me write "hell", even tho my copy's in french)

But why not work on my main project you might ask ?

This side project requires wayyy less energy, so it's easier to just write a few dialogue lines and adjust a variable, rather than reviewing an entire tileset or balancing.

Anyways. We'll see how that goes.

Hello! I saw your post in the rpgmaker tag and I'm curious, what is the game you're making about?

I love these characters' designs! And your artstyle is lovely.

First and foremost than you so much!! I drew them like this but to be honest in the game they have much more simple designs. The visuals are as simple as those old fnaf secret minigames to be honest. But I like that because it gives me more of a chance to experiment- I’m not a developer or anything. But I wanted to use rpg maker as an engine, not as a tool, so I’m using only my self made visuals.

This is an old screenshot with an old map & stuff but this is what they look like more or less I wanted to kind of hide what they looked like because I love writing and I wanted for their interpretations to be based on their personality/actions not their looks

The main character is the grey one, a 22 Lizal woman who wants to be king (or queen, was going for an androgynous monarchal system)

Her clothes are meant to entirely cover her body, she’s dressed head to toe in a sort of travel-gear, I want to say like some of the stuff link wears in botw to get around easier

The second person is a red fox girl (20), she wears a lot of armour

Anyways you’re supposed to solve text puzzles, physical puzzles, and also talk your way from one area of the game to another which also represents you climbing up the social ladder

The fox girl is your bodyguard and it’s kind of turn based but I’m trying to figure out how to use that aspect because I’m not really good with combat based stuff :,D & it’s also set in medieval times I’m still thinking of the exact date

This drawing was supposed to be an au where they had better upbringings, the mc’s countenance is visible and she’s way more expressive whereas in the game she’s like really monotone

If the fox hadn’t been a knight, she’d wear very pretty things so I wanted to put her in a fancy-(poor) dress, but she’d still be very keen on protecting her country

Anyways I’m working on the maps right now (it’s so hard,,…) if anyone has any suggestions or cool tropes PLS tell me I love group projects and including others in stuff one of my favorite thing to do with my art is take requests >DD I haven’t even named them yet I’ve been too focused on the writing part

trying a technique to get more mileage out of some skyboxes i already have where i overlay a base sky image with a gradient. i think for this Dreamscape in particular, the effect is spectacular

Tutorial ( kind of ) on how I modded my 3dsXL to play rpgmaker 2000/2003 games,since all the guides I found are SUPER old....

⚠︎ ! I figured a lot of this out by playing around with my 3ds. I'm 99% sure there's a better way to do this. Feel free to reblog a better version based on this version. It's basically a prototype guide,aka please proceed with caution ! ⚠︎

what you need :

modded 3ds

homebrew launcher

FBI

easyrpg player for 3ds files ( both the 3dsx and cia file )

1. Insert sd card into computer

2. go into sd>3ds, then add 3dsx files within the 3ds folder.

3. while still in the 3ds folder, create a folder inside of that called easyrpg-player

4. insert sd card back into 3ds,open FBI and click into SD,then from there, you should see 3ds.cia

5. click into that ( I clicked delete and install but tbh I think it's better to just click install for this )

once easyrpg player is on your device ur like halfway there

Now download any games you want. I got mine from here

6. insert sd card back into computer

7. go into sd>3ds>easyrpg-player,and insert the files in there.

If they are rar files make sure to extract them by clicking extract as /"file name" or extract as folder depending on your computer

in case you're curious,some I used tested are

paranormal syndrome : loaded for the most part other than sprites

the gray garden : works fine but slightly laggy

watgbs : works fine but oomfs told me to make sure to save your game alot!! so yeah

mix ore : works great

yanderella : works great

insert sd card back into 3ds,open easyrpgmaker,click into games,easyrpg-player,and all your games should be there !
