It's worth noting that there are some extraordinary people in the world who have been quietly doing the work for decades, and they should be celebrated with all the fervor that we denounce the villains. I first read about Harrison twenty-odd years ago, when he'd already been doing this for about fifty years, and this is one of those guys whose life can, indeed, be summed up by his headline.

James Harrison saved millions of lives. Millions. Not with anything flashy or dramatic, not with profound speeches or brilliant strategy or any of the things we insist are the ways to impact the world. He simply kept himself as healthy as possible so that every few weeks he could go and sit quietly in a room and give away a fundamental part of himself — quite literally his lifeblood — to people he'd never meet, for no pay and no expectation of acknowledgement. (He was, it should be said, acknowledged quite a lot per this article, but that's beside the point.)

When we talk about the kind of people we want to elevate and celebrate in our societies, I often think of people like James Harrison. I hope we get more of him; not just for his blood, but for his heart.

So I have been reading svsss here is my first contribution to this fandom

Last year I started working on a picture of Lucy Gray and Katniss. It was meant to be something about how rebellions are a communal thing, how tiny acts of resistance build up over time, how the fall of dictators is an inevitable thing.

I struggled with it because I felt my current skill level wasn't enough for how important the piece was to me, and I eventually decided to put it aside until my art improved.

And then SOTR came out. My boyfriend bought me the book and I settled down to read the first few chapters. I read up to Haymitch's reaping, found out Katniss's father was related to the Covey, and the disappointment was so much I couldn't bring myself to read anymore.

My art has improved vastly over the past year, and from a technical perspective I'm ready to tackle that picture again. But every time I pick up the pen, I think about Katniss being Covey, and I can't. Because now the message is gone. Now it's not about rebellion, it's about destiny. It's about the rightful heir to the rebellious throne. It's about hereditary lines and good breeding stock.

And it sucks.

I’ll never understand why He Xuan had to go through with his elaborate revenge plot against Shi Wudu the way he did. He already had the perfect revenge set up. Murdering Shi Wudu might have brought He Xuan momentary satisfaction, but seducing the man’s precious little brother and rubbing the relationship in the water tyrants face every single day is eternal.

I have to say, while Derek would be easily swayed by the majesty of the Friesian horse, Killie would be scandalised (as many horsegirls are) by their grip on the public imagination as The Prettiest Horse.

You just like it because it’s big and shiny. It’s a carriage horse! It’s anachronistic! It’s barely in condition! It’s like an animated leather armchair! What do you MEAN it’s the prettiest horse you’ve ever seen. Thoroughbred racehorses, which can run at 40mph and look in comparison like a weasel strained through a colander, are the objectively best and prettiest horse. Are you feeling too hot? Do you have sunstroke? Is it sunstroke, that you have?

You can only get the Dead End in Day 4 by staying at Ren's apartment — the rest of your choices before that don't matter. I'd also pay closer attention to the black smoke and Ren's reaction towards it!

Ren disappears from the home screen because he promised to help the player out (and stop them from getting the Dead End again). Try replaying the game again from the beginning for a surprise!

"Unsent Memories" was another visual novel (initially being written by @10chimes / @unsentmemory, though the project has since been dropped and handed back to me /pos) and is set in the same universe as 14 Days With You. Its storyline and characters are completely separate from 14DWY, so you don't have to worry about them while playing 14DWY.

like hello??? can we talk about how he did not only redirect one lightning bolt but TWO LIGHTNING BOLTS?? at the same time!!! and again, this is his first time redirecting lightning okay i need yall to keep that in mind cause girl what.

(and while i hate to praise a bitch i don't like i must say it's crazy that ozai is even able to shoot two lightning bolts within a second like phew okay girl i'll give u that i guess)

like that's insane!! and ozai was literally out for blood like he wanted zuko DEAD yall. and he managed to redirect it in the blink of an eye without any preparation and still walk away after that in one piece. and he was like? just fine afterwards??? the longer i think abt it the crazier it just gets liiike this is seriously so impressive.
