Kirishima with glasses?
So recently I kinda jumped back into the MHA fandom I watched the first 5 seasons as they came was apart of the 2020-2021 MHA crowd but wasn’t like super in the fandom just watched the anime and some gacha videos because I was a gacha kid.
still remember todobakudeku. Back then I wasn’t homophobic but I wasn’t definitely like my today self in which my favorite romance genre is gay idiots falling in love.
also the only gay ship I knew and liked is Ennard x Mike from FNAF yes I know it was a time.
For ships my main ones in MHA were the straight ones because they were cute and I also had no personality like I was really against crackships and stuff despite shipping Jelsa yeah old me was a bit weird.
And jokes on me because I end up being crackships ambassadors now.
Anyway recently with the news of MHA manga ending I wasn’t well that like interested because I haven’t touched MHA’s anime since season 5 and had fallen out of it getting obsessed with Naruto.
But I did have thoughts or binge watching all of the episodes to get caught up and then to make things better I read a kacchako fic. I’ve always like kaachako it was cute and ended up on Twitter fyp sometimes.
I also was going through a reading block so I wanted to actually read something and found a fanart for a fanfic and started reading some kaachako fics the author also ended up writing a Kiribaku one.
I read it out of boredom but ended up being obsessed with the ship by the end of it because god damn it they’re adorable 😭.
So now I’m obsessed with Kiribaku DESPITE the MHA ending I’ll never like you Bakudeku (like the dancers sometimes though). im reading tons of fanfics and starting to actually draw MHA art which will probably end in my WIPS but oh well.
I’m currently in season 2 of rewatching the anime because I kinda wanna make a Kiribaku fanfic in the future based on the canon ending to the manga so you’ll get news about that soon (it’s gonna be angst and fluffy)
Anyways I saw a post about pushing the Kirishima with glasses agenda so here is my contribution.
Tumblr media
Isn’t he just so adorable 🥰

(From the post you just reblogged) One thing I want to tell you: You are geniunely making me want to go and watch the Invader Zim series. I knew I enjoyed it when I was a kid the few times I could catch it, even if the grotesque stuff threw me for a loop sometimes, but seeing how the fandom is still active and how there was a relatively recent movie for it makes me want to re-experience it now with grown eyes!
Honestly. Some people tell me that they don't even watch Invader Zim, but read Tech Support.
Tech Support is my HUGE BABY of a fanfic (sorry lofi I love it a little more) and is a complete re-telling of the series in an order that makes chronological sense, from Zim's Computer's perspective.
It is so much more than that, but I do find the research and rewriting and tweaking of trying to make Invader Zim a more serialized show instead of an episodic events show was super fun, and I'm hoping to get back into it when my free time opens up.
Honestly, I never got into Invader Zim until 2019 when Enter the Florpus came out. I saw a few of my old mutuals reblog excitement and news about an Invader Zim movie, and I realized I myself had never seen Invader Zim. So I gave it a chance.
And I hated it. Hahahahah
Well, okay, hated is a strong word. I just found it pretty formulaic for the first few episodes.
Like "Alien with anxiety comes across a normal human thing, misunderstands it in a horrible and grotesque way, hilarity and dark humor ensues"
And that was the formula for a good chunk of the start of season one. Even episodes like Dark Harvest didn't really grab me that the show was something special.
So......
When the Steven Universe Movie came out... I gave it a second chance.
Thank god I did, because then I saw "The Wettening" and that was the episode that made me stick with Invader Zim, and I could tell how amazing and expensive the animation was for the time, and how Grey the protagonist and antagonist were. Zim and Dib change roles on who the Protagonist or Antagonist is depending on the episode, and I could finally see how Dib was being utilized as a character, and that's the episode where the show really found it's footing and knew what it wanted to be. It was about the rivalry between the two boys. It was about petty Elementary schoolyard fights that dissolved into a massive global threatening scale... and that's when Invader Zim is at it's absolute strongest and when it shines the most.
The Wettening really saved the show for me and made me continue watching.
I'm so glad I did, because then I watched the Steven Universe Future Movie and Enter the Florpus as a double feature. (AN EXPERIENCE I DO NOT RECOMMEND. YOU WILL BE EMOTIONALLY DEVESTATED BY A FUNNY LITTLE SCREAMING ALIEN MAN MOVIE AND CRYING BY THE END WHEN YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO LAUGH)
I owe a lot to Invader Zim.
It's how I met a lot of lifelong friends on tumblr when my Naruto fandom friends were starting to move on and grow up. (we hardly get together in the group chat to just talk about funny memes and junk... It's all adult stuff like weddings and job hunting and bleh)
It also came at a time when I was processing a lot of feelings about the grief of the loss of my father. While it's been over six years since he passed away, and I don't miss him as much, working on the Post-Florpus AU helped me process a lot of feelings I felt about my father, parenthood, and seeing a show about a little green alien man in the world with no supportive parental figures, fighting a little boy with a stand-offish father who was trapped in his lab and hardly paid mind to his son...
Idk, it meant a lot to me when I was living alone in a studio appartment and shutting off all my emotions.
All my work about Invader Zim is deeply personal to me, and I want to see it finished to the end.
Anyways, I was kind of rambling all over the place, might of got deeply personal, but I do find it funny about how a show of a little screaming green man, can be so funny, yet so deeply personal to me, and helped me deal with processing death, at a time when I was pushing everyone away from me.
Funny how that works, and I don't even think the creator knows how deeply Invader Zim touches the hearts of the outcasts, abandoned and the grieving.
Cause the show is funny. Like there's an episode where they legit say "Pee Pee" over a thousand times.
But it's that kinda show.
I just love Invader Zim.

the fun thing about being multifandom is that it's constantly highlighting the juxtaposition of how one fandom will treat an element from canon in fan stuff vs how the other will an how different the answers are based on the tone of the entire fandom and how it treats canon
like. how in the mha fandom child soldiers and ptsd and fighting wars at 16/17 is very bad vs naruto fandom where child soldiers and ptsd and fighting warts at 16/17 is just really really badass ; and you can't even really say it's a thing about how the audience saw the mha cast 'grow up' and therefore sees the whole 'child solider' thing as a bigger deal - because we first meet the naruto cast when they are 12 years old.
where they are 12 years old, are already ninjas, and have been training to be ninjas since they were barely out of toddlerhood.
I think I was pretty obvious about where this is going - but yeah, it's a difference of how the universe treats the subjects that leads to the different manner of how it'll be generally treated by the fandom. in mha it's seen as kind of fucked up that all of this shit keeps happening to class 1-a - not because it's unlucky, but because they are children who keep getting caught in villain attack after villain attack without break (pretty sure the entrance exam, usj, sports festival, and internship arc all happen within four months.) vs naruto's cast thinking that the rookie nine - or konoha 12 if you consider the occasional team gai screentime to count - are very unlucky ninja for continuously finding trouble, instead of thinking it's concerning that kids are being attacked at all. it's this odd thing of absolutely no one thinking "the fact that a 12 year old boy did that is fucked up", they're instead most likely thinking "this is a newly minted genin doing all of that. he's one unlucky bastard, but he's going to go places if he ever makes it past the chunnin exams"
it's also in how these two series treat murder - not an overly big mha fan, but from my knowledge the simple act of someone being 'dead' is seen as like super fucked up - nevermind if you're the one doing it. vs naruto's thing where the protagonists killed those two guys at like 12. and yeah it was this huge moral lesson but. the murder alone isn't the thing that bothers them, it's the message and the moral the fact these two people had to die that affects them so deeply.
(I love the wave arc a lot if it's not obvious)
but that's not the point - when they first meet zabuza, this big bad guy that tries to kill them ; they think that he's dead for two weeks, and at the time they don't particularly care. he was a big scary enemy ninja trying to kill them, and he died afterwards. why should they care?
which is like. kind of fucked up but I guess that's the point of the post.
naruto after the wave arc gets his 'eccentric' and 'optimistic' views of 'hey guys let's maybe..not murder everyone we meet when it's possible to talk it out?' - but he's still very willing to actually kill people, he just thinks that maybe if someone can change - you should give them a chance to.
which is sweet, but also still fucked up because in ninja society he's seen as 'incredibly peaceful' and 'unnecessarily pacifistic' and he's still perfectly willing to kill just. entire people.
which brings me back to the "badass child soldiers!!!" thing - in universe no one gives a shit about ptsd or child soldiers, because everyone has ptsd, and everyone is a child soldier. that's just how life is - there's no big awareness of mental health. like yeah if you're about to go crazy and massacre an entire clan before defecting or something it's seen as insane and something needing monitoring, but no one is going to really care about deeper seeded mental things going on unless it affects how good you are at being a shinobi
and in fandom I think the reason people kind of shove it aside most of the time is because. well atleast it isn't being literally brainwashed, tortured, branded, and forced to kill your best friend (ROOT, I'm talking about ROOT. though I guess if some people like really squint you could probably say it's about kirigakure)
and with mha I think the reason this is treated more seriously is because the main cast is new to being heroes. they've never had formal combat training of any kind before UA highschool - well minus ojiro but like no one cares about him. I guess you could hypothetically count todoroki and bakugou but I. do not. because todoroki has shown little aptitude for things outside of his quirk before UA and I kind of doubt bakugou was getting any fighting experience by exploding midoriya's notebooks in middleschool.
we meet the mha protagonists at what is naruto's equivalent of just beginning going to the ninja academy - and we start naruto's journey at what's equivalent to the my hero academia cast just debuting as pro-heroes.
and I think that's the reason why there's such a drastic shift in how the fandom treats the idea of "these guys have major issues"
(of course the exception to the naruto thing is hatake kakashi who became a genin at 5, chunin as like 6 I think, jonin at 13-ish, anbu at 15-ish, and had every person in his life and his entire support system (father, friend, other friend, teacher, sister figure, probably someone I'm forgetting) all die right in front of him. at differing times (father at 6, friend at like 13, other friend just after that, teacher and sister figure the year-ish after maybe?? timeline is fucked up okay) the naruto fandom tends to usually take a collective stand back and go "okay yikes that's bad" when it comes to him, even if they ignore like every other person on the cast)
I don't know how to wrap this up neatly in any other way then, while the difference in how the mha and naruto fandom treats their cast despite the somewhat similar settings is jarring/interesting in equal measure, I heavily doubt anything is ever going to top khr expecting a 12 year old to lead the biggest mafia in the world in a country he's not in just for him to burn a man alive with his magic powers with his own two hands two years later because of said mafia vs the khr fandom, who treats him as a background character in contrast to his mysterious and suave hitman of a tutor who just happens to be a baby that's been living for presumably anywhere from 20 to 90 years.

Masterlists + Commissions/Requests
Hey, everyone! I'm Eri, the owner of this blog. Some info about me; I'm 21 years old, my hobbies are writing fanfiction/baking/cooking/loving on my pets/drawing/painting, and I'm pretty friendly! So feel free to message me any time. I write fanfiction for a bunch of things. My AO3/Wattpad/Discord are all @erimeows. I have all of my multichapter content on AO3 and am in the process of getting it uploaded on Wattpad. On here, however, I only post my oneshots/headcanons as it's just far more convenient, though I will be including links to the multichapter works and series on the masterlists I have posted.
If you’d like to read my writing/see what all I have published, I am currently reworking my Tumblr Masterlists. Since I've recently changed my Tumblr username, it makes the old links to my works invalid, hence why I'm going to have to redo them. This will probably take a couple weeks considering that I have over 200 works published. Sorry for the inconvenience! In the meantime, you are more than welcome to look at my AO3, as all of my work is uploaded on there.
My requests are also open! Additionally, you can commission me if you’d like, but I know not everyone is in the position to do that. If you’d like to support me with a commission, DM me. <3 Details about requests:
I currently am taking requests for oneshots/scenarios and headcanons from the following fandoms:
Adventure Time
Animal Crossing
Attack On Titan
Akame Ga Kill
Avatar The Last Airbender
Batman (2022 Movie, Comics, or Arkham Games)
Ben 10 (all four cartoon series!)
Boku No Hero Academia
Death Note
Diabolik Lovers
Dragon Ball Z
House M.D.
Mystic Messenger
Naruto/Naruto Shippuden
Once Upon A Time In Hollywood
Pokemon Conquest
Resident Evil 2
Saw (Movies 1-4)
Stepping On Roses (Manga)
Super Mario Brothers
The Arcana
Your Dry Delight
Yuri On Ice
Zelda (Breath Of The Wild/Tears Of The Kingdom)
Note; if there’s a fandom you want me to write for that you don’t see on my list, ask about it! I may have just forgotten to add it lol... I’m into a lot of things ^^’
Some other big no-no’s for requests; I don’t write OCs, write crossovers, write matchups, or write RPF. However, if you commission me, I am willing to do OCs and matchups for commissions. For NSFW content, I am willing to write it on request, but I don’t write tickling, water sports, noncon, anything with minors partaking in sexual acts, scat, or anything with medical tools.
Another note; I bounce between interests and many of you know this. I also tend to get some requests that I just don’t feel like writing but with the volume of requests that I get I don’t want to have to respond to every one of those, as it honestly feels rude and a little repetitive. I also have a daughter who I'm spending a lot of my time caring for and a Discord server that I'm moderating, so I may be a little slow on getting the requests that I do want to write out, but please don’t send them in multiple times. If I'm taking too long or if you think I'm not going to do the request, just send it to someone else. Thank you!
Lastly: I know I can’t age check everyone, but if you’re a minor, please don’t interact with my works that are marked NSFW. As a parent and as a mature adult, it feels creepy to think that kids are out there reading my NSFW content. Thanks!
I also mod a Transformers and a Mystic Messenger discord server. Both are 18+ only. If you’re at all interested one or both, let me know and I can send an invite link!
That’s about it for now :) thanks for reading!

Chapter 171: Tokyo Colony No. 1, part 11: Rabid dog
Happy, happy JJK-Sunday!
No but for real, I am totally that weird person who is obsessed with Megumi’s extreme duality.
I know there are people who don’t see it, others who don’t like it, others who are surprised by it, others who love it, etc.
As someone amongst the group that loves this aspect of Megumi’s personality, to me, the diversity of reactions from other JJK readers speaks to the richness of the reading experience that is JJK.
In my opinion, this also speaks to Gege’s ability as a writer. Put simply, Gege’s characters are human af precisely because they are highly multi-dimensional.
Take Megumi, he is deeply compassionate and ruthless at the same time.
It’s almost like Megumi has a  rabid dog living inside his shadow... and I don’t mean Kon.
You get a Megumi, you get a Megumi, EVERYONE gets a Megumi!
When I saw all of Megumi’s “shadow clones”, I immediately thought of this Oprah meme.
Tumblr media
Basically, we all get a Megumi!
Tumblr media
All that to say that if I was a character in JJK I would not want to fight against Megumi.
The boy is insanely intelligent, strategic (and I dare say manipulative), and brutal. If he wants to fck you up, as we have seen so far, he will not hesitate to do it.
The scarier part about Megumi is that he keeps this impulse for violence and bloodlust buried tightly under wraps within his shadow. More on that in a bit.
Now, the idea that these are “shadow clones” reminds me of Naruto--which I had to binge over the Christmas break because my 7 year old nephew is walking down his super cool auntie’s path and starting to consume anime from a young age.
Even if I am not a huge fan of Naruto, I loved bonding with my nephew over it.
This got me wondering about Naruto’s Shikamaru and what other characters in anime and manga use their shadow as part of their “special ability”.
Tumblr media
For now I can only speak for Shikamaru. So... what is the difference between Shikamaru’s shadow and Megumi’s shadow?
The Jungian shadow
Right, so linkspooky wrote an amazing and in-depth post about this that you should read here.
Linkspooky also straight up said something I had been holding back from saying ever since I started consuming JJK back when we first learn that Megumi’s technique is shadow-based:
“Megumi is perhaps the most Jungian character, in the Jungian manga, about Jungian ideas.”
The literal conversation in my head about this sounds more along the lines of: Gege must be familiar with Jungian Psychology. There is no way that it is a coincidence that he got all of these details right.
Even if it is not listed in the fan book that Gege reads or has read Jung, it is besides the point. Gege does not need to quote Jung the way Ishida does to show he understands these concepts.
Gege is the kind of writer who strikes a fine balance between showing and telling after all.
And the way he shows Megumi’s shadow skill is very much nearly a textbook-definition of the Jungian shadow. As he reveals more about Megumi’s skill, the more I become convinced of this headcanon.
While I am all for reading a work of fiction at face-value (I literally look for reading material where I can just turn off my brain and enjoy because JJK consumes too much brain rot energy), JJK lends itself for in-depth interpretations of the symbolism within the story that may or may not be canonically explained within the text at face-value. That is why the fandom loves speculating and theorizing about the characters and the story.
In other words, I love that Gege trusts his audience so much--in the end, even if as readers we do not consciously understand the symbols he uses, our subconscious understands and assimilates them.
Which brings us back to Shikamaru vs. Megumi.
Shikamaru vs. Megumi
This is not about who is cooler. While Shikamaru is an amazing character, you will find me rooting for Megumi 300% of the time.
But about how their shadow-based techniques are different and how Megumi’s is in line with the Jungian shadow.
The panel shown below is a loose representation of how Shikamaru uses his shadow.
Tumblr media
I say it is a “loose representation” because, unlike Megumi, Shikamaru does not store items/Shikigami or create shadow clones from his shadow.
Shikamaru’s shadow is what, at face-value, we all consider to be that black reflection cast by the light that follows us around. And just like Megumi, Shikamaru has conscious control over it.
But that’s where the similarities begin and end--which is how Megumi fooled Reggie this chapter.
The reason Megumi can store items and manifest Shikigami and copies of himself from his shadow is because, unlike Shikamaru, Megumi’s shadow is not limited to the area of his literal shadow.
Tumblr media
This sort of explains how a barrierless domain can have “shadow above you too.”
Simply put, from a Jungian perspective: the shadow is not limited to your literal shadow, but all around you.
While the shadow is usually defined as the “space” that stores repressed material (this includes both “positive” and “negative” personality traits but Megumi also uses it for weapons, etc), the shadow is also everything that you don’t know that you don’t now.
The shadow is also everything that is outside of conscious awareness.
Which means that the Jungian shadow is structurally closer to the archetypal realm of the collective subconscious.
Or, to put it in JJK-terms, in Jungian Psych, the shadow has access to the realm between dreaming and waking that we saw back in chapter 160.
Tumblr media
This last bit is just pure speculation on my behalf given what I’ve shared about the Jungian shadow and how Gege’s use of the shadow is consistent with Jungian Psych. But, as I like to say, I could be 300% wrong.
Let’s see what Gege comes up with.
Rabid dog
Other than linkspooky’s meta about Megumi’s shadow, which I mentioned earlier, there is a couple of really good meta addressing Megumi’s repressed self floating around in the #jjk meta tag. So I am not really going to go in depth into that because, as the story has progressed, I’ve been writing about it myself too.
But you can check out one of littleholmes’ meta here and hamliet’s meta literary perspective of what they predict Megumi’s arc will look like considering his current facedown with his own shadow.
Because that is exactly one of the “things” that Gege is writing about to usher Megumi’s growth as a character. Megumi’s anxiety drives his shadow self out into the light and so he becomes and acts out this shadow self’s mindset and perspective.
Tumblr media
In other words, he has a tendency towards acting out his repressed violent and sadistic self--a sort of rabid dog driven by a bloodlust instinct.
Tumblr media
I have to say that Uchida Yuma (Megumi’s seiyu) did an outstanding job channeling Megumi’s crazed laughter in chapter 23 of the anime. So I am totally looking forward to not only seeing chapter 171 animated, but also listening to the seiyu’s interpretation of Megumi’s crazy.
Anyways... I got really Depth Psychology 101 today so... if you’ve read this far, I thank you as always and hope you enjoyed reading as much as I enjoyed writing.
I also hope you have a happy JJK-Sunday!

i would actually love to listen to a sasuke rant there's so many parts of his storyline that still confuse me
hello!! so i am not the most eloquent person, especially since i’ve been out of school for past 6 months and my brain feels fried/mushy from the lack of use, but imma do my best to put my thoughts into words! putting everything under the cut because i kinda went off oops.
ok so to be completely fucking honest, i don’t remember anything that happens in naruto after the pein arc. i’ve watched all of shippuden once, when it was airing, but when i go back and rewatch, i never go beyond the pein arc (aside from certain moments/arcs later on). all this to say, most of my understanding of the characterization of sasuke comes from the og naruto to the beginning of shippuden.
so let’s talk about genin!sasuke. yes, as a fandom, i feel like a lot of us tease him for being “super fucking emo” & how he will, canonically, spout out the darkest little rants to anyone who will listen. but it’s important to put into context that he’s 1.) 12 years old at the beginning of og naruto and 2.) HEAVILY traumatized. like, my poor baby boy saw his brother, literally his favorite person in the entire world, murder his entire clan in cold blood. itachi literally tortured him, forcing him to relive the events of the massacre, in an attempt to goad him into “getting stronger.” and as much as i post abt how much i love itachi, bc i tend to ignore canon & live in my deluded fantasies of the massacre never happening, i know he’s not the hero kishimoto tries to paint him to be. i’m not gonna get into it, bc this is about sasuke, but i do just wanna say: itachi was also been manipulated by the shinobi system, but he continued that vicious cycle when he chose to torture and traumatize his brother in the cruelest way possible. itachi’s story is also really fucking tragic, because he was just a kid. he deserved to be helped. he’s both a victim and a perpetrator. but i digress.
so, we go into og naruto with the knowledge that sasuke is extremely traumatized and has, since the age of 7/8, been plotting to avenge his clan by killing his brother. on top of all that, he has no one who helps him through that. i’m not entirely sure he has any real bonds until he’s placed on team 7. like, he’s still living in the compound, where he saw his entire clan murdered. he’s literally living with the ghosts of his dead family. that’s extremely fucked up (fuck u hiruzen u piece of shit).
throughout og naruto, there are multiple moments where you can see sasuke’s true nature. for one, he genuinely cares about his team. he literally threw himself in front of haku’s sebon for naruto. in the chuunin exam arc, sakura’s super depressed abt something and he purposefully compliments her genjutsu skills to make her feel better. in the gaara retrieval arc, he talks about how naruto & sakura are his precious people. when kakashi ties him to the tree after his fight with naruto, sasuke thinks about naruto and sakura as his reasons to stay.
before the massacre, we see that sasuke is a sweet, gentle boy who loves his brother and his family. that doesn’t just go away. at his core, sasuke is a good person. but his trauma is never addressed by any adult in the series & his quest for revenge is left unchecked for too long. he wants power so bad, and who can blame him? when he runs into itachi in og naruto, he’s determined to kill him, and he’s confident that he can. very quickly, sasuke learns that he’s powerless & nowhere near the level he needs to be to kill itachi. even after learning the chidori & basically defeating gaara, who was the strongest in the chuunin exams, he doesn’t have enough power to take on his brother (who, in a totally dick move, goads him about it, like the little bitch he is.)
sasuke doesn’t just leave the village without hesitation. like i said earlier, kakashi’s speech affects him. in both the manga and the anime, he’s visibly struggling over his choice. people say sasuke doesn’t feel anything, but i would argue that he feels too much. he feels really fucking deeply. he has to pick between his team, people that genuinely make him happy enough to forget about his revenge, or his quest for power. if he chooses his team, his happiness, does that mean he’s betraying his family? is he letting his family die without the justice they deserve? he can’t accept that, so of course he chooses power. he forces himself to cut ties, no matter how much it hurts, because killing itachi means letting his family finally rest in peace (and, he thinks, will bring peace to himself.)
so he leaves sakura on the bench (but he thanks her for caring, for loving him). he leaves naruto (but not before the iconic rain scene, where he struggles to leave him behind).
sasuke’s true nature doesn’t just disappear after og naruto. during shippuden, when he first forms team hebi/taka, he bonds with them in the same way he bonded with team 7. he doesn’t leave them behind (kakashi’s influence), he saves them when they’re in trouble, and he even establishes a no-kill policy (aside from those related to his revenge plot). he’s also openly disgusted by orochimaru’s experimentation (not to say that makes him a good person, because the bar is super fucking low if so, but i think it’s important to note).
jumping forward to after he kills itachi/learns the truth, he’s understandably so furious. his brother was used by the village to massacre his entire clan. it’s state-sanctioned genocide, plain and simple. of course he doesn’t wanna go back to konoha. of course he wants to destroy konoha. of course he’s gonna spiral. sasuke’s descent into darkness is a fucking tragedy because you can understand why he's in such despair. he locks away all the goodness inside of him because he’s so consumed by rage and grief and sadness and darkness (until naruto finally pulls him out.)
as a viewer of the show, of course i believe/can say, “omg, but that doesn’t mean you have to eradicate all of konoha when the civilians did nothing wrong. just take out the people in power (aka danzo) and be done with it.” but honestly, put yourself in his shoes. what would you do if your family/friends were murdered? what if you found out it was your favorite person who murdered them? what if you found out that they did it because the government told them to? i, for one, would burn the world down. or i’d just be consumed by grief/depression. like seriously, how the fuck do you come back from that? how do you keep living?
i personally believe everyone deserves compassion (cough, fuck the US prison system, cough). children don’t have the autonomy to protect themselves from trauma, nor do they choose the environment they're born into. and yes, of course i believe that when you’re an adult, it’s your responsibility to unlearn that trauma/work on yourself instead of taking it out on everyone else/using it as an excuse. but what if you don’t have the resources/support to do that? sasuke certainly didn’t. not when he was a genin, when everyone ignored his revenge plot (like seriously, get the boy some goddamn therapy!!). and, after itachi died, he’s stuck in a world where his entire clan was wrongfully murdered because of konoha (danzo) and he doesn’t know how to fix the hurt and pain and rage he’s feeling because of it.
on a quick side note, i do think there’s also an argument that could be made about how sasuke’s self-destructive tendencies & his extremely violent plans/actions were exaggerated to discredit the validity of his desire for revolution and systemic change. like “omg all revolutionaries are violent and out of control!! we need to put him down instead of understanding that he’s actually right, the shinboi system fucking sucks and needs to be revolutionized!” idk if kishimoto did this purposefully (with the way his writing goes from brilliant to absolutely fucking stupid, i really can’t tell with him). but i’m going off topic.
do i think sasuke is 100% justified in all his actions? of course not. i, for one, really wish sakura had buried him six feet under when he tried to kill her (yes, i know she tried to kill him first but that’s another rant for another time). i wish karin got to kick his ass bc she definitely did not deserve to be treated that way (she literally almost died because of him and sasuke didn’t give a flying fuck, like fuck him for that.) i think we can be compassionate and understand why he acted the way he did while also acknowledging that he did do some really dark, unforgivable shit.
idk. sasuke is just such an interesting character. i think he's an easy character to misunderstand, because it's easy to be pissed off at him for the choices he makes (especially when you have naruto as a main character, who's ideals are... well. we're not gonna get into that.) he’s not all good, but he’s certainly not a villain (which i feel like a lot of people paint him out to be.) i just have a lot of Feelings about him and i definitely don't think i did him justice in this rant but it's also like, 1 AM rn and my brain is scrambled lmfao.
so yeah, that’s my soapbox. i don’t even know if any of this makes sense (truly, i feel like my brain is malfunctioning half of the time help). but, if u wanna talk about it more, or talk about specific parts of the manga/anime, lmk!

Naruto Fic Rec Masterpost!
Tumblr media
Adoption by Defenestration; or, A Family Can Be A Fox Demon, Its Jinchuuriki, and Three Dozen Highly-Trained Assassins  by elumish Oneshot, Gen, Fluff, child neglect, Naruto gets unofficially adopted by his anbu guards and it’s incredibly cute Summary: He will not be the ANBU who let the jinchuuriki plummet to his death out a fourth story window. Let that be another ANBU’s legacy.
Being Over-Prepared is Impossible (and other mottos)  by Pleasedial123 Longfic, Gen, Team Seven, team as family, Bamf Kakashi, Bamf team 7, au, kakashi pov, Complete but part of a three part series and the third part is still ongoing, still highly recommend, what team 7 should have been, Skilled Teacher! Kakashi Summary: In one world, Kakashi awoke, felt grieved at being assigned a team he sees his own in, and he let that grief make him a lazy teacher.  He saw himself in Sasuke, Obito in Naruto, and Rin in Sakura. He woke, saw himself in them, and took a large step back, regretting accepting them as his new team.  In that world he was quite hands off - merely a watcher because it was so very painful to watch. He saw himself and all his mistakes in this new team of his.
In this world, Kakashi awoke, saw the similarities, and instantly panicked.
He suddenly realised what he had done, passing a team.  Kakashi was left scrambling not to repeat old mistakes and regrets. This team would not suffer the fate of his team.
In this world, simply put, Kakashi became a teacher.  This is the beginning of a new team seven.
Something in the water by maldoror_gw  Oneshot, Gen, Teen and Up for language, hilarious, Tsunade pov, fluff, mild crack, pre-shippuden post naruto,
Summary: "Sakura...what is that man reading?" Tsunade asked in a dangerous voice. Sakura's gaze twitched away from her ex-teacher to her new - and temperamental - mentor. "Erm...a book...written by a...well-respected member of the community...about...romance?" Tsunade noted with passing approval that Sakura was demonstrating both loyalty and quite a lot of imagination in defending her one-time team leader (who was now trying to edge around a pillar to get away from Tsunade's venomous glare).
backslide by blackkat Time travel, time travel fix it, mature, fluff, team seven, m/m, slow build romance, Naruto adopts himself, Uzumaki heritage, bamf Naruto, complete longfic, Summary: Naruto’s friends are gone, his lover is dying, Konoha is destroyed, and Madara’s second return has pushed the entire world to the brink. Hunted and harried, Naruto is sent back in time to upend Madara’s plan before it even starts, and sets about changing everything. Butterfly effect nothing: the world is at stake, and Naruto is hardly about to let it fall to ruin once more. Not while he’s still breathing.
Tobirama Kicks Some Sense Into Konoha by allseer15 Hurt/comfort, whump, emotional whump, time travel, fix it, time travel fix it, The ‘what if Tobirama came to the future saw an orphaned Naruto and adopted the shit out of him’ Fic, Iconique, child neglect, child abandonment, fluff, so much fluff, completed longfic, look I have a weakness for the time travel fix it trope at the best of times but this fic is good even looking at it without focusing on that! Prolonged Tobirama content, Senju lore, senju feels, Summary: The Hidden Leaf Village in Naruto's time seems to have forgotten just why the village was founded and have lost their way.  Through a mishap with a hiraishin seal, Tobirama finds himself during Naruto's time and he is having none of this nonsense. His brother may be gone, but he won't stand to have Hashirama's dream trampled so. And if he has to cause a civil war or burn the village down to the ground? Well that depends on how much resistance he meets. All Tobirama does know for certain is that no child will suffer underneath the protection of Konoha and if he has to take them in and care for them himself, then he will.
Hardest of hearts by blackkat Oneshot, Gen, look I really like blackkat’s naruto fic okay, part one of a completed three part series, all three parts are great, Fix its are the best, Alternate Universe - Canon Divergence, Time Travel, Time Travel Fix It, Orochimaru redemption story, the sheer shadenfreude of one baddie fucking over another baddie, in this case Danzo, Obito has a ‘bad guy but not that bad of a guy’ solidarity moment with Orochimaru at the start and I loved it so there’s that, featuring a low key constantly horrified at this turn of events Minato,
Summary: Orochimaru gets one more chance. Just maybe, it will be enough to save him—and the entire world as well.
A Snake In the Grass, a Wolf At the Door by blackkat Mature, Completed ten chapter fic, Orochimaru redemption story, Orochimaru/Kakashi’s dad, you read that right, quality Sakumo content, Families of Choice, Humour, Fluff and Angst, somewhat crackish, Alternate Universe - Canon Divergence, baby Kakashi being a cutie Summary: Orochimaru is on the edge of breaking when someone unexpected pulls him back to solid ground. When the time comes, he returns the favour.
Nukenin by WhisperingDarkness Gen, dimension travel, team seven, team as family, Kakashi actually being a good sensei even when he’s not a sensei at all, possessive kakashi, Team Seven is his team, Kinda Fluffy, Protective Kakashi, the ‘this might as well happen’ adaptability is real, Kakashi adopts team seven and team seven adopts kakashi, even though he’s illegal, 4 chapter fic, marked as complete as author doesn’t plan to continue it, but even taking these chapters as stand alone this fic is great,
Summary:  In the sealed scroll he finds a Bingo Book – his own page marking him as an S-class nukenin with flee-on-sight orders.  “Ok. That is definitely different.”  In his head he blames Naruto – even if his number one unpredictable student had been nowhere near him on this mission. When things go this stupidly impossibly wrong it must somehow be the future Hokage’s fault.
Ear to the Wall by Vodkassassin Ongoing, it’s really really good though! great Kakashi content, Minato is very stressed and I love him, Sickfic, Hurt/Comfort, whump, PTSD’d Kakashi gets to relive his childhood but gets a little bit of a real childhood along the way, ADHD Rin, time travel fix it, look I like what I like and what I like is fix its and time travel apparently, Kakashi adopts Orochimaru before he descends into douchbaggery, Orochimaru Redemption story, everyone is alive,   Summary: The Minato-sensei beams at him, and replies, “Kakashi! I’m glad you’re awake,” and, yup, that’s Minato-sensei’s voice. Kakashi falls back down against the bed, closing his eyes. It’s too short of a way down, and he clenches hands that are too tiny and feeble and not his in dog-print sheets he hasn’t owned for decades.
How To Save The World With No One Even Realising by IncompleteSentanc (Erava) Gen, Teen and Up, Graphic Depictions Of Violence, Major Character Death, time travel fix it, Canonically Accurate OP Team 7, SuperBadass!Sakura, SuperBadass!Sasuke, SuperBadass!Naruto, RegularBadass!Shikamaru, Canonically Violent Sasuke, Equally Violent Sakura, Saving The World One Murder At A Time, Various Jinchuuriki, Team 7 As Super Villains, Doing Super Villainy Stuff, Like Murder, And Professional Eyeball Removal, Poor Obito, Poor Minato, AKA The Worst Four Months of Minato's Life, And Everyone Else's Too, Dark Humor, Bittersweet Ending, Dark Comedy, Crack treated seriously, completed 3 chapter fic, Well worth the read, Team 7 To The End! Summary: Minato knows at the beginning of the week that it's going to be a hellish one. Mostly because it starts with the kidnapping of one of his two remaining students, only a year after they'd lost the first one. He just doesn't realise at the time that it's not going to be a hellish week - it's going to be hell for quite a bit longer than that. It all starts with Rin's kidnapping, and her subsequent rescue at the hands of a mysteriously appearing, monstrously strong, murderously violent woman. A woman with cotton candy pink hair. It only devolves from there.
Just Killing Time by Elizabeth Culmer (edenfalling) Gen, Oneshot, Short and Sweet, Classic of The Fandom, Ficlet, Team 7, Kids being Kids, Fluff, Fluff and Humour, Slice of Life, Cute Kids
Summary: After Wave Country and before the chuunin exam, Team 7 kills time while waiting for Kakashi to show up.
there lies a trail of fire behind us by BowAndDagger Gen, Madara is extremely confused but mostly on board, Time Travel au, Alternate Universe - Canon Divergence, Bamf Naruto Uzumaki, Alternate Universe - Everyone Lives/Nobody Dies, Except Zetsu, Alternate Universe - Time Travel, Fix-It, Founders Era, clan wars era, Pre-Slash, POV Uchiha Madara, the Completed part one of an Ongoing/Incomplete series, completed 4 chapter fic, Summary: As he returns from a mission, Madara makes a strange encounter with an even stranger shinobi. Then, he’s summarily kidnapped to go on a quest to save the world by said weird shinobi. (He absolutely did not choose to follow the stranger on his own free will. He was kidnapped. He did not give chase. He did not.)
A Political Perspective by VJ Riddle  / MueraRashaye Ongoing, Possibly (Probably) Discontinued, Teen and Up, Gen, Team 7, training montage deluxe, Konoha is a murder village, Good Teacher! Kakashi, AU, slowly developing into Bamf team 7, Bamf Kakashi, slowly developing into Team as Family, lots of fun ideas, not crack, Minor Spoiler: Zabuza and Haku get x’d before their character development gets its chance to shine in this fic, Sometimes people don’t warn for that in the tags and it can be a dealbreaker in fic for me as I love those two, not a dealbreaker in the case of this fic though! Really good fic so far, kind of verging on dry in places but it always stays fun in the end with lots of interesting elements, I enjoy the character insight from the pov switching, and also how much of a headcase Kakashi is, graphic depictions of violence, Alternate Universe - Canon Divergence,
Summary: Hatake Kakashi was a shinobi, and as a shinobi, the only people who could give him orders were his military superiors. The idea that a Council made up of civilians and peers was under the impression they could give him orders...displeased him. Or: He was ordered to pass Team 7. He was fine with that, until they actually passed.
Integrity by Liz_Starling Oneshot, Gen, Canon-Typical Violence, Canon Compliant, Integrity, Child Neglect, BAMF Uzumaki Naruto, Reflections on Naruto’s inner workings as a person, promises,
Summary: Naruto keeps his word. Some people are loyal to their families. Some, their orders. Naruto is loyal to the only thing he’s been able to count on; the promises he makes.
Foundation (Build It Higher, Bury It Deeper) by RayShippouUchiha Ongoing, BUT EXCELLENT, it made me cry, Naruto feels, 6 chapter fic thus far, Bamf Naruto, Bamf Tsunade, Naruto deserved better, Angst, Hurt/Comfort, Angst and Hurt/Comfort, Emotional Hurt/Comfort, Canon-Typical Violence, Gen, Mature, Team 7, Uzumaki Feels, Abandonment, Tsunade gives Naruto the personal talk he deserved instead of finding out from a chakra imprint when he was dying, so we stan, I love this fic
Summary: It’s just… he’d thought, given his fight against Neji and then his confrontation with Gaara, that someone would finally really acknowledge what he’d done.  That beyond Iruka-sensei’s crushing hug and Kakashi-sensei’s absent pat, someone would actually notice that he’d won against both of them.
That he’d beaten a genius on his own and then had battled another jinchūriki to a stand still.
So while he hadn’t really expected to be promoted too he’d still ...

Everything that salty anon said was completely uncalled for. I’m sorry to see someone sending you an ask like that, you don’t deserve that at all. I really love your blog and reading what you post, and you seem like a great person! Sending love and positive vibes 💖✨
(2) That anon seems to be equating fandom toxicity with shipping, when fandom toxicity has nothing to do with shipping. There's plenty of toxic fans that ship absolutely nothing at all. That anon being quite a good example... I don't think I've seen anyone so triggered by shipping in a while. I mean, most people don't stop shipping their ships just bc they don't become canon. Some people even are well aware they won't become canon. We still get our enjoyment and aren't a-holes, lime anon. Meanwhile, what do people like anon get? What do they want? A medal? Sorry buddy, this ain't the olympics.
(3) Honestly, it started off as kinda funny and cringe but damn anon you found away to turn super creepy super fast. You cant go around dictating who a real fan is and pretty much emotionally abuse people who just dont ship the same thing as you. This is me trying to be as nice as possible, but please take a break from the fandom if you are going into people's inboxes to just be a menace.
(4) dude… you are so chill and you always mind your business. why do people leave you mean messages all the time?? I think it may be worthwhile to turn anonymous messages off for a while. people are getting too comfortable in your ask box lol :/
(5) omg what's wrong with that anon? shipping fictional characters doesn't hurt anybody, and even if the ship isn't confirmed as canon in the end of the story this doesn't invalidate people's right to ship them, for example, in the end of naruto, sasuke and sakura were confirmed as a couple but this didn't made everyone suddenly stop shipping them with other people, in evangelion no couple was formed in the end of the series but people still ship them together, and that's fine because as I said doesn't hurt anybody I'm sorry that you're receiving toxic asks, idk if you are aware but you can block anons directly when they send asks to you, you just need to click in the "..." bellow the ask
(6) People have been shipping pairings since the olden days. Gundam Wings for example has a multitude of pairings, all fanons of course, and you can still read old fanfics. Salty anon must be terribly young LOL. Btw, being a teacher has nothing to do with it. I'm a PhD scholar (just passed my viva!) and you bet I have some weird ass ships in some other fandoms. Grow up salty anon.
(7) Don't let that anon get you down because your always awesome to me!, personally speaking Fanon, Shipping and Headcanons is just our way of spicing things up and thinking of the what ifs when reading a piece of media. people should stop dictating how others enjoy things tbh. anyway I love your writing and I hope you have a good day!
I'm sorry to collect these, but thank you everyone for the positive vibes and kind words! I've been in jjk fandom before the anime and it has since getting bigger - and ofc getting worse too, sadly. And I've also been in numerous fandom over the course of the years, but this is the first time I saw someone so anti with shipping in general. Shipping is not even the main activity of this blog, as you all can see. itafushi is not even the weirdest ship in jjk fandom.
Everyone in fandom enjoys things in different ways, as long as you don't cause trouble for others, there's no "right" or "wrong". It's just a piece of media. It doesn't dictate your life. I don't and don't want to dictate others in what is right and wrong in this matter. But yes, as long as there is a fandom of it, shipping will most likely be a part of it. This applied to fandom everywhere, which use other language too. And harsh it may be, but we are here because we share the same interest on one stuff. And that interest will fade in time when we find new things to be interested in.
And also seems like one toxic anon attracts another and I'm turning off my anon ask for the time being. I've been considering doing that for a long time.
Please. I just want to be left alone doing my things. If you don't like me, don't like what I do, then please just block me. No one is forcing you to follow what you call "fandom-ruiner" here.

not anbulegacy related but i saw this post (https://unpretty.space/post/646998090036969472/sacchariwrites-mommacomms-nug-juggler) and i panicked and thought of you guys. yall and people like sna and bite the hand that feeds and kimi no vanilla who have some of the most beautiful fics dating to 2005. and im begging u and your readers to save old fics.
when some of my favourite fics got deleted it was devastating. even years later i still think about them and the more and more it feels like they were merely a figment of my imagination and not anything more and i just. might cry if it happened to all of ffn. (what im trying to say is please don't let it happen to you?)
anyway i feel like you guys were the backbone of the naruto fandom in the super early years and even though everyone has left ffn please save the fics T_T i still rec stuff like butterfly in reverse in 2021. your old fics have a lasting impact even if theyre abandoned or forgotten. i love u guys so much i cant bear to think of a world where your history in the naruto fandom is erased.
sorry that it's not anbulegacy related i just genuinely dont know anyone else who was writing in 2005 (or reading old fics, since i assume your readers have also read them) and still writing now and i just wanted to reach out.
Anon, thanks so much for reaching out. None of us are on ff.net much these days but we have fond memories of the old times there in 2005 - 2007 -- and of the authors you mentioned, sna and bite and kimi no vanilla and so many more. I hope they’re doing well. It’s alarming and a bit sad to hear that the site on which Nezu and I met -- where we had our first taste of fanfic, and where we forged a lot of other friendships! -- may disappear.
I don’t know that moving fics from ff.net to AO3 may be feasible for many of us -- or even desirable for some of those early works (many of mine are better in nostalgia than in reread). But they are a treasured piece of our personal and fandom history. Thanks for thinking of us, and for remembering us.
A reminder to all of us: back up what you love!
(But don’t worry about Legacy. We’re staying put.)

Okay so, I’m not the anon who was upset at you about you talking of Sasuke and his femininity, but I think you misinterpreted what they were saying. Before I explain why, I want to preface this by saying that I’m not defending anon. They were mean to you and super passive aggressive, and that’s not right, but I AM defending their argument.
The way I saw it, their issue with your arguments regarding sasunaru/narusasu was that you contradict yourself. You’re trying to make a point of Sasuke not being characterized accurately by sasunaru shippers, and that’s a valid argument that I myself agree with. That’s why I gravitate towards narusasu content more. You make great points on why the sasunaru side of the sns fandom make Naruto/Sasuke ooc, and your arguments about the issue stemming from women self inserting themselves into the ship is pretty solid, for example.
HOWEVER— you bringing femininity and masculinity into your arguments feels contradictory and hypocritical. Reason being, you’re arguing that sasunaru shippers hyperfeminize Naruto in their content... But you’re doing the same thing. You’re doing the same thing by bringing up Sasuke’s femininity in every single one of your posts to the point where your arguments become redundant and contrived, even though it is canon.
Now, I do agree that Sasuke is generally portrayed as more feminine, and I’m not saying that you’re the same as some sasunaru shippers for pointing out the obvious when it comes to Sasuke’s feminine traits, nor am I saying that what you point out in regards to Sasuke’s femininity/masculinity isn’t true, because a lot of it is, but the way you go about the whole matter, as I said before, is weird because you bring it up so often. THAT is the issue.
You bring it up TOO often. It would have been okay if you made a post solely on the topics of masculinity and femininity with Naruto and Sasuke, and made a connection on why sasunaru doesn’t make sense to you. That would have been understandable. This subject of masc/fem is it’s own thing. But bringing it up all the time just really demeans what you’re arguing for, and, in the end, makes you sound like you’re fetishizing feminine men and projecting that onto Sasuke, which is unfortunate.
Bringing up feminity so often gives the reader the impression that this is personal to you now, and your arguments against sasunaru should not stem from the characters masculinity and femininity. I understand that it is a big factor as to why Naruto/Sasuke are made ooc in the sasunaru (and narusasu) fandom (which is what you’re arguing against), but in doing so, you become the very thing you’re arguing against and you lose a lot of who the characters are by confining them into these two categories (masc/fem.)
I understand that it wasn’t your intention to come across what way, and that the point of your arguments is that Naruto and Sasuke are equals, and sasunaru shippers don’t always portray them this way. But is it really necessary to bring up Sasuke’s femininity all the time? You bring it up so often that it feels like that’s the only thing you hold on to. And, if I’m being frank, it’s kind of obvious that you prefer narusasu not just because narusasu portrays Naruto/Sasuke as more in character. You think Sasuke is pretty and feminine, and you just straight up prefer him to be the bottom. It makes sense to you. And dude... That is okay. This is purely fictional and you do you, own it. But having said this, because you come across as having a preference to narusasu beyond characterization, your arguments begin to sound like excuses for your preference. And the focus on Sasuke’s femininity reinforces this.
This assumption can very well be wrong, you tell me. But even if it is, the fact that you come across as what I said above is still there.
I’ll end this by saying that I didn’t say all of this to make you feel bad, certainly no. I follow you because I agree with what you say, but when anon brought up femininity I just had to say something because, as an avid follower of yours, the topic of femininity does become superfluous in your content, and I think you misunderstood their criticisms, even if they were misplaced.
Yeah, I brought them up more than once because I see the opposite often. So it’s to push back against something I dislike. Because I can’t really go onto blogs without seeing the same old stuff I have seen since 2004. And also why I don’t really follow Naruto blogs other than like two blogs.
I also see why too often people bash and be aggressive towards any other portrayal, to the point of harassing artists. So I might as well point out it’s not far off to draw Sasuke as pretty or more feminine than Naruto.
I have shipped m/m ship where both were really manly, I actually don’t consider either Naruto or Sasuke really manly (at least not when compared to those two) so I don’t have a “need” to have a feminine and masculine man in a ship. To add to that, I don’t consider either Naruto or Sasuke as really “manly” (at least not when compared to those two) and neither girly behavior wise. That’s not what the “feminine” stuff is about. It’s just the contrast and the yin/yang stuff I find interesting. Also this is about a fictional work where two characters are written to contrast each other and it’s interesting to look into how these concepts are put into the work.
Aside from that, I do not like all the portrayals that can be seen in NS works either. I dislike “housewife” concept that can be found in both SN and NS works, because I can’t see that for either Naruto or Sasuke, I think they both would be bored to be in that kind of role. I do not like non-con. I also think people make Sasuke too girly sometimes. I also don’t like too heteronormative roles that can be found in both SN and NS. But the criticism about the things that can be found in NS are everywhere already. Way more often criticised.
To add to that, I actually feel it’s hard to find art (or fics for that matter, which is even harder) that really hits my preferences. So far I like what I have managed to gather in my #shipping tag and I don’t think any of them are offensive or fetishy.
Like I said maybe I’m just not good at explaining my points but eh. I have other topics in the making but the texts are a bit too long (because I have too much to say sigh) and I’m trying to edit them to be more enjoyable to read (since I’m not that good at writing as people can probably tell) so maybe that’s why my content is boring and I apologize for that I guess.

Writer ask meme - everything divisible by 3
Sorry this took so long to reply to! I was writing out my responses today, but while watching Rosewell New Mexico with my roommate and that show is SO good. anyways this is really, really long so I will put part of it under a read more however if you are reading TAoL and want a sneak peak at an upcoming chapter, my answer to 36 is the entire first scene for that chapter
3. What is your favorite/least favorite part about writing? Other than the obvious writer's block, I think that my least favorite part is feeling insecure/wanting validation via comments and such. Writing is something I really enjoy doing and take great pride in trying to grow as a writer, but it's impossible to completely shake off that feeling of insecurity and sadness over something that doesn't get comments. There's this common thing in fandom where like you can pour a lot of heart and energy into something, be really skilled, only for it to get overlooked. There's obviously a lot of reasons for that, but some of those reasons are kind of annoying—like god forbid something not have sex in it, ya know?
6. Favorite character you’ve written?
So, that's hard.... If we're talking the canon Naruto characters, it can really vary from story to story. I obviously enjoy writing Gaara and Lee, but I was surprised to find that I really enjoy writing Shikamaru, Kankurou, Temari, Neji, and Tenten as well. I think all of them are really interested, have a lot of potential, and are fun in very different ways. Kankurou is definitely just flat out fun to write, and I think Tenten is very similar in the way she's fun to write. I think this like handful of characters are all faves for very different reasons so it's hard to say who my absolute fave is, but I really enjoy writing all of them. Definitely my fave thing is being able to write all of them interacting together, however.
9. Favorite/least favorite tropes?
Least: Soulmates. I hate that shit with a passion—it's boring, it's artificial, it's easy. There was a post I just saw recently that said “soulmates are stupid. I love you on purpose” and that just sums up so much of my issue with soulmates. If something is predetermined by some fucking cosmic power, do you really ever love that person? Do you really ever know that person? Soulmate AUs will always be something that bore me and also insight anger. It's just not for me, and I wish that fandom spaces would just get over it, in all honesty. Fave: uh. I don’t really know about like trope-wise. I just really like anything with good world building and politics.
12. Which story of yours do you like best? Why? Oh gosh.... um. That's really hard to answer because every story I write has a special place in my heart for different reasons. Alliance is my baby; TAoL is a huge emotional investment and has allowed me to grow even more as a writer; Absolution is something I've always wanted to explore; Flyweight Love is super fun and cute; IEYH is a new experiment in writing for me; GoD was also an experiment... and on and on. It's hard to pick like a favorite story because like they're all my faves in different ways. There are certainly things I like more or prefer, like I'm not that into modern Aus as much so it's easier for me to say that like Find Me isn't a one of my best—it isn't, there's a lot of things I want to fix on it, and while it is a decent fic, it's not like groundbreaking imo. But like for all of the things that need fixing with Alliance, that fic is my baby and really grounded me as a writer in a way no other writing project had before it. So like I could never not love it. Anyways, I'm babbling at this point, but basically I love all my fics so I can't choose.
15. How do you deal with self-doubt when writing? Rereading my writing tends to help and hoarding some of my favorite comments I've been left by readers. I know I'm a good writer, self-doubt and insecurities aside, so re-reading stuff is really a good confidence booster—but when that's not enough, it is really helpful to look back at old comments.
18. Tell us about that one book you’ll never let anyone read
Of mine??? Well, obviously by 'book' we're going with fanfiction because none of my original content is at a point where I'd really even consider it for this question. Um. Honestly, I don't think there's much if anything. Maybe some HP fics but not because I'm not like... proud of the writing or premise. Like I'd say my ideas are really good, it's just a matter of like my own time management and shit.
21. What aspect of your writing are you most proud of?
My world building. I'm also generally proud of the premises I come up with, and the themes I explore with my writing. Like I think I'm a good writer in terms of the like technical writing aspect—pros and such—and also characters, but I think I excel at world building and overall plot.
24. Do you remember the moment you decided to become a writer/author? The first time I ever wrote anything I was seven years old. I was at a party for my mom's boss? I think it was a birthday party? Anyway, I was the only kid there—which was fine because I was used to being the only kid in gatherings—but I was sitting alone by like a window and I just like started writing a poem about the night. That was like the first time that writing really became a part of me. When I was thirteen, when my mom got sick, I started writing poetry more. And when I was fourteen, I started writing fanficiton and that's kinda just... never stopped. I've been writing stories ever since.
27. Every writer’s least favorite question - where does your inspiration come from? Do you do certain things to make yourself more inspired? Is it easy for you to come up with story ideas?
My inspiration comes from everywhere, not to like be cliched. But inspiration really is in everything and everyone. I tend to find inspiration really easily in music, but it's also in just like the day-to-day; it's in other writers; it's in washing dishes; it's in a day trip to the ocean; it's in a quote or a touch or a word. Like genuinely, it's in big things and little things and things that shouldn't even be things. I don't feel like I really struggle with inspiration so much as motivation, really. And that is... a much harder thing to find sometimes (especially when you're mentally ill)
30. Do you like to read books similar to your project while you’re drafting or do you stick to non-fiction/un-similar works?
Um. I like to read fantasy mostly, but I don't look for something similar or different from my projects intentionally. I just.... look for things that I like? But I don't really know how to explain that lol
33. What’s your revision/rewriting process like? Since I'm writing mostly fanfiction and the culture of having a beta reader has dwindled significantly, making it hard to find one, I do a lot of self-editing. I'm usually re-reading a lot as I'm writing. So until a chapter is done, I'm always going back and reading/editing before moving on to the next scene. And then once I'm done writing a chapter I'll usually edit it about two or three times in full in the document, then I put it in draft on Ao3 for another edit before posting.
36. Post a snippet All right a snippet..... Let's go with something from: The Art of Love, Chapter 13 (not the next chapter, but the one after). Since I left everyone hanging for so long with that last scene of Gaara and Lee, this is the entire first scene to ch13: It was all his fault. If he hadn't let himself get so carried away in the dream of Gyokukakushin, in the dream of Gaara, in the dream of safety they didn't have this wouldn't be happening. Their belongings had been stuffed haphazardly into their various bags. Despite how many times he'd checked and double checked, Lee felt sure that he'd overlooked something—some wayward item that had rolled beneath the bed or fallen behind the desk that would give them away. Gaara had watched him silently, his thoughts kept to himself as Lee dashed about their room like a mad man.
“I think that is everything,” Lee managed over the mantra of 'My fault, my fault' cycling through his mind. His voice trembled as he spoke. Every inch of him trembled. Every breath he took rattled in his chest. Every beat of his heart was a stutter against his rib cage. Every ounce of blood pumping through his veins burned with the need to run.
“This is useless,” Gaara said, the first words he'd spoken since the beach.
Lee snapped his head up, meeting Gaara's enigmatic gaze. “But—”
“They don't set sail until the end of the month,” he reminded Lee. “What use is being packed? Besides, it will look suspicious if we leave now.”
Tears burned at the corners of Lee's eyes. “But if they are coming—”
“They're coming,” Gaara murmured. “But even if they arrive before we've departed, we have our disguises. You have to trust that we'll be fine.”
Lee's head spun. How could Gaara be so calm? How could he sit there, quiet and unshakable, when Lee felt as though the world were falling apart around them? How could he be so sure that eleven days from now, they'd set sail, free and undiscovered? How was he not furious with Lee for his complacency?
Gaara was at Lee's side before Lee could shake the spinning in his head, a gentle hand at Lee's elbow and a surety in his eyes.
“I know you won't let anything happen to me,” he told Lee, as soft and insistent as the thumb he'd once pressed against the corner of Lee's mouth.
“No. Never.” Lee's stomach twisted, guilt rising like the tide. He'd let his feelings jeopardize everything.
“Then what do you have to fear?”
A trembling laugh escaped Lee, soft and unsteady. He had everything to fear, yet Gaara's gaze implored him to forget those fears. He managed to speak, his tongue heavy with the lie, “I do not know.”
“Then do not know fear. It will make this harder for us, especially if the Daimyo's soldiers arrive before we've left.”
“If they do—”
“If they do, we will be as unknown to them as any other traveler. And if not, I trust your speed to carry us to safety.”
“We would miss our ship.”
“If it comes to that, so be it. We can find other ways of traveling to Tea Country.”
Lee allowed himself to believe all would be well because he couldn't believe anything else when looking into the depths of Gaara's eyes, but there was no escaping his gnawing guilt or the knowledge that his heart had led them to ruin.
39. Do you spend a lot of time analyzing and studying the work of authors you admire? I wouldn't say a lot of time per say, certainly not as much as I should, but I definitely do like to analyze other works and learn new skills, etc.
42. How many drafts do you usually write before you feel satisfied? I don't really write “drafts” per say. Since I'm just writing fanfiction, I'm usually just writing and then heavily editing. Sometimes editing does mean taking out and entirely rewriting entire scenes. And sometimes in writing fics, I do jump ahead—though very rarely—and write a rough draft of a future scene so I don't lose the idea/beats/etc, and then that will be re-written fully when I do get to it. But on average, I'm just doing a lot of editing.
45. First or third person? Third, definitely. I'll never be able to write first person cause it just doesn't really suit me and, overall, I think that it's a very hard point of view to write from. For me, it takes a special
48. Do you prefer to write skimpy drafts and flesh them out later, or write too much and cut it back? So before I write something, depending on what it is I will write an outline that can vary from a few sentences to like pages.
51. Are you a secretive writer or do you talk with your friends about your books? A bit of both really. I love talking about the things I'm working on, but I also love to keep things a surprise so I can see what people's genuine reactions are to like plot twists or whatever. Of course, my problem is that I have to like—talk about my projects to stay motivated. It's a hard balance. I usually end up talking with my roommate since they also write fanfic for Naruto but not GaaLee. We can bounce ideas off each other, when we're stuck, etc.
54. Favorite first line/opening you’ve written? Ugh this is another hard one...  I think im gonna go with the opening from IEYH right now as one of my fave becuase I think I did a decent job of setting the tone of my very first horror project: Too often, ghost stories begin with dark nights or horrible, gruesome death. Real ghosts don't follow the patterns of a novel; there are no beginnings, middles, and ends; no rising action and falling action; no denouement. Ghosts do not achieve resolution; ghost do not experience the climax of their own tale. There are no happy—or even sad—endings. There are no endings at all.
Ghost stories go on and on and on, rambling endlessly towards nothing and no where, only stopping for the finite amount of words one can speak or write in one's lifetime.
That is the true horror of death: ceaseless, unending nothingness.

- super random tumblr blogs?? including the demo.tumblr.com??? idek
- oh boi. A super mega amount of tumblr blogs. How am I supposed to open these?? If I open all the tabs I’ll make my laptop crash... I’m not opening them. Most are unfamiliar, probably fandom blogs that changed their url twice a month, but I can spot a few I still follow :) Congrats, I “followed” you long before I had a blog myself.
Well, this was anticlimatic. Apparently, past me already got rid of all the wild stuff. There’s not even a SINGLE Glee thing? Not one? From 2014? Wait, what was airing in 2014? Season 5? Yeah, maybe that’s a reason. Still.
NEVERMIND I FOUND THEM, they’re no longer saved in a browser, I had changed laptops or sth and I had copied my bookmarks in a email I sent to myself so I could find the links again (which obviously says I made a selection, who knows how many bookmarks were lost. I don’t want to know lmao). I obviously have no reason, time or will to open them, but I can tell you I had divided them in categories:
- uni courses; Japan/Japanese; manga; philosophy and academical stuff; recipes; mixed [oh boi there’s some weird stuff here]; very useful sites; quotes & lyrics [what for?]; videos; Glee stuff; Glee art from DeviantArt; Glee tumblr blogs; Klaine-specific tumblr blogs; Supernatural stuff; Destiel-specific; my most used sites; Deviant Art - fanart [not specified, so I’m betting this is manga fanart - correction from some urls I can tell this is yaoi fanart, yep]; Deviant Art - non-fanart; watercolor images; Deviant Art - food; Deviant Art - pictures of Japan; something very embarrassing I’m not admitting it [no it’s not porn, that would be less embarrassing]; assorted tumblr posts; Supernatural meta; other tumblr posts.
So yeah that was my 2013, how was yours?

About/Information
Tumblr media
I write because I lead a lonely life with very little human interaction.
I write so that I can feel what friendship and love feels like, so that I can feel like I’m a part of something bigger.
I write to escape the problems that plague me in real life, to get to hang out with people and characters that have impacted my life.
I write because it makes me happy and helps me cope with the life I’ve been given.
When I write, I get to insert myself into those worlds and feel a deep connection with its inhabitants, forming bonds of friendship and love that I can’t make in real life.
For me, it’s the same as watching anime or watching a movie and getting engrossed in the story. I’m super sensitive and empathetic, so I can feel what other people experience, whether they be real people or those you find within anime.
You can call it pathetic, and a lot of people don’t understand Fanfiction and find it weird, but for me, it’s part of my life and plays a huge part in my happiness.
I pour my heart and soul into my writing, so sharing it with others is quite nerve-wracking, but at the same time, I couldn’t imagine writing just to keep them on a hard drive somewhere.
Tumblr media
I believe that in today’s society, everyone gets triggered over everything because they are bored and have nothing better to do with their lives. While I do my best to label my stories with warnings if I think it might have legit triggering content, if you find something to be triggering and I haven’t labeled it as such, please let me know. I will review it and see if I can agree with it being a genuine concern.
A lot of my writing features subjects that I have experience with. These are the things I consider to require a trigger warning:
Mentions of suicide/suicide attempts.
Self-harm.
Abuse, both mental and physical.
Alternatively, I refuse to write about rape/non-consensual sex.
Tumblr media
I rarely write adult content (smut, lemons, etc.) because I feel like I suck at writing them due to the simple fact that I don’t have any experience in that area. I write a lot more suggestive content (16+) which eludes to having sex but never actually states it or adds anything overtly sexual to the story.
However, due to some recent soul searching, I’ve come to realize that I may be a bit uptight when it comes to sexual content because I was raised in a strict Christian environment. I plan to try branching out and try writing some more adult content.
I will NOT write smut for any real persons under the age of eighteen (kpop idols for example).
When it comes to anime, though, I will age them up to at least sixteen. Some people may find some issue with this, but I feel like it’s not that big of a deal because they aren’t real people, they’re just characters and this is just fiction.
Tumblr media
From my experience, not too many people like writing in Second Person, and must prefer First or Third. However, a long time ago on Tumblr (yes, I know, the bane of the internet), I saw several posts in the fanfiction tag talking about how they couldn’t relate to most original characters with their fair skin or curly hair. That got me thinking a lot, and I came to realize that I usually skip over descriptive details about original characters simply because I can’t relate to most of them.
Since that day, I decided to write in Second Person so that anyone, no matter their skin color, hair type, body type, etc., can enjoy the fics I write. I avoid adding descriptions of the reader so that anyone can view themselves in that role.
Alternatively, I do my best not to add gender to the reader, as well. At the end of the day, though, I am a female, so it’s natural that my fics will lean more towards a feminine reader, though I’m quite boyish so maybe that will help. I don’t like to label myself, but if I had to choose one, it would probably be straight, so most of my fics are about guys.
However, there are some female characters that I love so damn much that I would happily be with them if given the chance, so I might write about some of them occasionally.
Now, I’ve already stated that Second Person is my main go-to for my fics, but when there’s a fic that’s important to me or with a character/anime that I especially enjoy, I might switch to a different point of view for that specific fic. I usually add it to the pairing at the start of the fic, though.
In case you don’t know what the different points of view are, they are as follows:
First Person; I went to the store today. Second Person; You went to the store today. Third Person; She/He went to the story today.
Tumblr media
The story behind my name is quite a simple and boring one, but I thought I would share it anyway.
World of Warcraft and Neverwinter are among some of my top favorite video games, and within them, my favorite class has always been the Rogue. They aren’t easy to play, and I always do them wrong, but it’s my favorite class and I feel so much happiness playing them.
Ever since I was a child, I’ve always been obsessed with rain. When it rains here, I usually drop everything I’m doing and rush outside with some paper and a book. I can’t express how happy I feel when it rains. It calms my soul and washes away everything that troubles me. Thunderstorms are the absolute best!
Actually, I started a fic set all about the rain. At the time of this post, I haven’t added that book yet, but I’ll be adding it soon – it’s called Rain Falls (original, I know).
Over my time across the internet, I have had many names and posted my fics in many different places under different names, so if you find it posted elsewhere under a different name, please let me know.
Currently, I am only posting my fics here and on WordPress under the same name. I’m considering posting them on Deviantart, as well, under the same name but at the current time, I have not done so.
Tumblr media
I began my writing journey when I was around twelve years old when I joined a magical little site called Quizilla. If you didn’t get the chance to experience this wonderful site, let me give you a quick rundown of what you could find there. As the name suggests, it was a site where you could make and take lots of different quizzes. The most popular ones were things such as “What anime character are you?” “Who will fall in love with you?” “What animal are you?”, etc.
Most of the stories there at the time were all about emo boys and naruto lol I remember such stories as “Who will you choose? A demon, angel or vampire”. My favorite parts of this site were the challenges and contests, which a lot of my fics are based around. Here are a few examples:
139 Prompts
Here, There, Everywhere
Lights, Camera, Action!
How to Trick Him into Bed in 10 Easy Steps
Love and Other Disasters
I haven’t been able to find a website that offers a good set of prompts like they had on Quizilla, but I still try looking for them. Ever since then, I’ve been writing off and on. I like to believe my writing has gotten better, but I don’t really know for sure. At least a little less cringy, I hope.
I also hold out the hope that, one day, Quizilla will make its return.

Oh lol I didn't mean to just say hi. I wanted to ask about the writers prompt. 4,6,7 and 28 please
I did wonder if it had cut off early!
4) What is your favourite genre to write for?
Hurt/Comfort!!!  I have favourite characters, and then my favourite thing to do with them is hurt them - emotionally or physically, preferably both!  But because they’re my favourites I don’t want them hurt forever so then I make it all better with hugs or love or whatever works from one of their friends/family.
I usually go platonic over romantic.  It’s not exclusive, and when I was younger I used to ship like mad, but now I am totally here for those platonic relationships.  (My latest fandom isn’t been great for shipping anyway - Thunderbirds is 90% family, and one canon ship).
6) If you had to delete one of your stories and never speak of it again, which would it be and why?
Oh heck.  Probably any of my really old ones, honestly.  A Quivering Wreck and I Want To Know What Love Is (both Naruto) are both super old, super cringey, and totally out of character so I’d hit the delete button on those first, but basically anything written/posted in 2009 and most of the 2010 ones.
7) When is your preferred time to write?
Whenever I have the time and inspiration!  Most often that’s around 1am (I have so many files last saved/edited between 1-2am), mainly because that’s when the rest of my family are asleep and no-one’s interrupting me.  At some of my jobs I’ve been able to write (most of the early chapters of Tales From The Heart (One Piece) were written while doing a slow reception job) but my current one there is no slow time on shift, and too many nosy people during my breaks.  I tried to scribble something down during lunch yesterday because it had been in my head all morning and just got bombarded with “what are you writing?” and similar variants.  Nothing got written and by the time I got home it had all fled from my head.  Not fun.
28) What is something you wished you’d known before you started posting fanfiction?
Hmm... that’s actually a tough one.  I think probably understanding fandoms a little more.  When I first started, I didn’t really know what a ‘fandom’ was.  I just found this site called ‘fanfiction.net’ (I think a friend recommended it to me), saw that people wrote and posted stories based on characters (specifically Naruto, which is what I was into at the time) and liked the idea.  The idea that some of these writers were maybe friends with each other and collaborated and all that stuff is something I didn’t realise for years.
Also writing for myself, and thinking things through!  My first fic, Unwanted (Naruto), I wrote specifically because I wanted to post a story and just kinda ran with the first idea that popped into my head.  The result is a story that got changed halfway through because a reviewer showered me with much praise and then offered suggestions which I threw it pretty much with abandon because someone wanted that.  It ended up a sting in the tail because the reviewer in question vanished before the fic ever finished, even though it was a regularly-updating story, before I got into my bad habit of posting before I finished writing and subsequent several year long hiatuses.  I also ended up throwing in a ship that at the time I didn’t ship at all, and has since been revealed in canon that the characters are actually somehow related...  All to please this reviewer who never stuck around to the end.
So yeah, past me.  Write what you want, not what someone tells you to write, sort out your plot before you start posting, and if it’s a multichap get the whole thing written before you post the first chapter!  Minor revisions are fine, but if you don’t have it all written you’re just going to end up on hiatus as you forget where the plot was headed or hit writer’s block - or even totally abandoning and deleting fics because you fall out of love with them.

Thanks for the ask, Anon!

3, 14, & 34.
What current rp trenddo you hate?
“Aesthetic” text.I don’t care if you’re the best writer in the world or the friendliest mun onearth. If you write your posts in a microscopic font and/or space your words inweird places just for the sake of making things pretty, I’m going to pass on interacting.
Replies should be legible and online-reader friendly. This also holds true for the Great Wall of Text.
Please, formy sake as well as the sake of others, split up your paragraphs each time:
Someone new is talking.
A new action or object of focus is taking place.
You already have 5+ lines in this paragraph.
Do you think rp hashad a positive or negative affect on your life or you as a person?
It’s done both. Allof my longest lasting friendships have been with former or current RP partners. Some of us have kept in touch and still interact even 13+ years later!
Everycommunity I join, I find one or two wonderful people like this. Sometimes wefollow each other into other fandoms, but sometimes we don’t. And the bestfriends are those that even when you cross over to different fandoms; you stillencourage each other and respect one another as people, not just muns.
For instance, I’ve known @the-schwayest-batman-around since2006 and our old Fullmetal Alchemist days. I met @m-dawg63 and @yunhuntress around this time, too. I’ve also known @girlnumber11 for nearly 7 years at thispoint. We still do stuff outside of Batman Beyond.
If you want more recentexamples, like my Naruto days, I’m still chatting on the regular with@uchihacollector, @nikkxb, @mita-rashi, @seiauton, and @tropical-gothic.
But for every good story I have, I also have horror stories:
In one fandom, there was one very emotionally fragile munwho gravitated toward me and ended up falling pretty hard for my muse. They wantedto build an entire AU where the two hooked up and went on bittersweetadventures together. Their preferences were more for the fluffy stuff, while I’mkind of a “doom and gloom” writer and gravitate more toward the heavy stuff.I can also get bored super quick when all we do is domestic stuff. When I found another mun who played the same muse this person did and theirwriting preferences more closely matched my own, I got accused of “playingfavorites” and “kicking _____ out of the sandbox” when I did no such thing. Theydid that on their own with their needy, clingy behavior. I never said an illword about them.
In another fandom, I got treated like a writing machine withno feelings. I cranked out quality content like clockwork literally every weekend, only to watch in despair when those pieces struggled to get 1-2 likesor reblogs…and then an ask meme response I posted in 20 minutes got nearly 40by the end of the day. What a way to make a gal feel appreciated, Tumblr.
In yet another fandom, somebody else created a bad OC anddemanded I interact and acknowledge them as part of my character’s family. WhenI said I wasn’t interested, I got a TON of “Hello?” and “Did you read my rulesyet?” IMs from this clueless, persistent person.
The worst experience was when I made friends with someoneand we started to ship our characters together. OOC, there was no chemistry. Wewere just a pair of bros having fun watching our muses go at it. Then bro’s waifu joined the community, created an alternate character for bro’s character to ship with, and startedsending me anon hate in an attempt to make me go away. LATER, waifu decided she wanted to be my friend, drew me fan art, and even wanted to ship with one of my muses? Like...what? You gaslight the shit out of someone and then decide you like them? That ain’t how it works, honey. I saw you on StatCounter.
Have you ever criedwhile writing a reply?
Yes. It alsosometimes happens when I’m working on my fan-fiction.
Chapter 53 (which comes out later this year) was soupsetting to write that it took me over a week to complete it. It might notseem like too much on the surface, but I conjured up a lot of my inner demonsand past traumas in that one, all for the sake of “art.”
It also happened a fewother times in the story, especially once a very important character deathhappens and it’s not an immediate passing. It lingers, the hospital was based off a realhospital, and…I won’t get into it. Let’s just say you can sometimes tell when apost or chapter is a “heart dump” because there’s this heavier than usual aurato it.
I’m not going to count what I’ve done on IM, though I’ve hada slew of cases where this has happened recently. Let’s talk about actual examplesthat always choke me up:
The Zombie AU between @mita-rashi and myself was filled withall kinds of moments along these lines. It’s honestly hard to pick a specificmoment!
And with @the-schwayest-batman-around, one of the most upsettingstories we did was during the Arkham is the New Blackgate saga. Zhora (mycharacter: Rebel One from the Batman Beyond comics) broke out of Arkham whenshe found out her mother was in the hospital and not expected to make it. Terrywas notified of her breakout by the warden, as well as given the name of thehospital where Zhora was expected to appear. Terry put on the batsuit, met herover there, and…actually waited for her to say goodbye to her mom beforeescorting her back. It’s one of the first times he actually lived up to whatBatman used to be in the original animated series, and that whole plotline wasa gut punch from start to finish.
