Science and activism can and should rely on each other
I identify as both a scientist and an activist. The creation of The Climate Conversations  stems from a gap in the climate world, in which key scientific discussions never really leave the academy, and in turn the climate science space is not made accessible to activists. In sharing news, scientific breakthroughs (the good and the bad), adaptation and mitigation successes, and general climate knowledge, this community page strives to facilitate and support the conversation between scientists, activists, and anyone else who has an interest in our changing climate. Activists should utilize the climate data available in order to further their work; science can provide an even stronger foundation for justifying the climate fight and for combating misinformation. In order for this to occur, science should be made easily available to those outside the scientific community. Scientists should also listen to and keep up with activists as they develop their research, implement their methodologies, and share their results; without considering the social justice aspects and implications of their work, the data can only go so far in aiding communities impacted by climate change. As building solidarity between various social justice movements is a recognizable way to make them stronger, creating an interdisciplinary connection that transcends categorization (ie, within or outside academia) can also serve to mend theory with practice, bringing scientific studies into the realm of real life.  An additional nuance that is important to take into account is the difference between the uses of Western science and traditional knowledge. The scientific method follows Western ideals, and Indigenous knowledge ends up forgotten and ignored. Western science can take a page from climate activist’s books by acknowledging and uplifting these traditional beliefs, wisdom, and ideas. Incorporating Indigenous perspectives when engaging with science and activism can provide richer and more nuanced outcomes and insights for the benefit of our planet, our environment, and our communities.
To close up these thoughts is an excerpt from Sherri Mitchell - Weh’na Ha’mu Kwasset’s essay Indigenous Prophecy and Mother Earth featured in All We Can Save: Truth, Courage, and Solutions for the Climate Crisis:
“Ironically, the Indigenous ways of knowing and being that European colonists saw as primitive and uncivilized are now being actively sought out to save our environment and humankind from the brink of extinction. Indigenous knowledge is based on millennia-long study of the complex relationships that exist among all systems within creation. It encompasses a broad array of scientific disciplines: ethnobotany, climatology, ecology, biology, archaeology, psychology, sociology, ethnomathematics, and religion. [...] Unfortunately, a great deal of critical Indigenous knowledge has remained outside the carefully ordered categorization of Western thought, making its holistic concepts difficult to comprehend for those who have been trained to see the world in fractured pieces. It is this fractured view that has been central to the fracturing of our societies and environment.”

A CAREER IN CIVIL ENGINEERING IN INDIA
Tumblr media
A thought of construction strikes our mind when we talk about civil engineering. The need for Civil engineering is from time immemorial. It is the foremost profession emerged in the field of engineering. Civil engineers not only pay attention to the construction of buildings, bridges, homes, etc but also transform lives via there dedicated and passionate work.
Civil engineering is associated with the Planning, designing, supervision, estimation of materials, maintenance, and execution of structures like bridges, buildings, roads, etc.
CIVIL ENGINEERING COURSE
A student can opt for civil engineering course after 12 or even after 10th. There are diploma courses available which you can do after 10. The best part of doing any diploma course is that you do not have to go for 11th and 12th standard anymore and after two years a student can get the lateral entry into B.Tech civil engineering.
After the 12th  standard,  the 4-year B.Tech degree course into civil engineering can also be chosen by a student. Although the time period for both route ( via diploma and direct engineering after school ) include the same no. of year’s investment.

I want to extend my sincerest congratulations to all the incredible nominees and the winner of the 2022 Pritzker Environmental Genius Award - Dysmus Kisilu, founder of @solar.freeze, who is bringing solar-powered cold storage to small Kenyan farms — reducing food waste without increasing carbon emissions. Awarded by @UCLAIoES, the prize recognizes promising young innovators - scientists, entrepreneurs, engineers, activists and artists under the age of 40 - who stand poised to make a game-changing difference. It carries a $100,000 prize to continue their work. Congratulations as well to the two finalists, Tiana Williams-Clausen, director of the Wildlife Department of @theyuroktribe, who played a critical role in efforts to return prey-go-neesh, the California condor, to ancestral Yurok territory after a 130-year absence and Resson Kantai Duff (@ressonduff), who has worked to expand the profile of a conservationist to include faces that are not commonly at the forefront, and shifting power to locally-led organizations. I am so honored to have nominated her and hope that you will take time to learn about all the inspiring 2022 nominees at ioes.ucla.edu Don't miss @ressonduff's @ted talk, "Why Africa needs community-led conservation." #PritzkerGenius2022 #sustainability #scienceandenvironment #climatechange #community #leadership #conservation #environment #environmental #nature #climatecrisis #climate #climatejustice #environmentaljustice https://www.instagram.com/p/Ck1_BWjMJSa/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Coven es como La Toalla del Mojado, with all the respects to the authors involved. The main difference is that La Toalla del Mojado is a ficticios movie starring Franky Rivers (César Bono) and is used as a pawn in every episode in the TV series Vecinos. Coven is the movie two filmmakers made and the documentary of the making is called American Movie. I don't believe many people have seeing Coven, regardless the success of American Movie. Here's short trailer of ¨American Movie¨.

Annapurna, a brand which has always walked the nature's path, truly believes the true potential of our beloved mother nature. We always tend to associate nature with things that are at its purest form which has ensured us good health and happiness.
Nature's sweet resemblance of a mother portrays her selflessness towards us. But what have we done as humans? Our endless needs turned into ruthless greed has led to our cruel activities bringing about change and destruction. And now we are tasting our own medicine, trapped in, suffering from our misdeeds.
It's not a time to regret but to realize what can be done. It's a time to act responsible and amend our mistakes, give back what mother nature has been doing for us, for generations. A time to heal the world and restore the nature at its best ensuring purity for our future.

AccuWeather long-range forecasters have identified weather patterns and emerging trends to create the first look at the weather forecast for the astronomy event of the decade:

This is only a long term trend map, but, IMHO, you *will* get clouds over Buffalo, Cleveland and Erie on Apr 8th = since they are right on Lake Erie.

A civil engineer requires a thorough understanding of advanced mathematics, including geometry and trigonometry, in order to construct project blueprints.  Civil engineering students learn about these subjects through intense classroom teaching and field-based experiences.
How to get Into B.tech Civil Engineering Course
Diploma option after 10th standard
You can avail of two major options after 10th if it is clear in your mind to go for the profile of a civil engineer from the beginning.
There are diploma courses available which you can do after the 10th. The best part of doing any diploma course is that you do not have to go for 11th and 12th standard anymore and after the completion of the course the admission for engineering is direct through lateral entry.
Lateral entry students are directly passed to the second year of btech (engineering degree which is of 4 years) and have to do only 3 years of btech to get their graduation complete.
BTech option after 12th standard
If you are in your twelfth standard then availing the 4-year course into civil engineering is the only option you have in your hands.
Although the period for both the routes ( via diploma and direct engineering after school ) include the same no. of year investment.
There are integrated options available in the course as well, which includes Btech and Mtech degree in one go. Nowadays, B.tech and MBA integrated courses are also something you can consider going for, as they ensure high package placement in return.

Research on Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy to Treat Traumatic Brain Injury and PTSD.
I came across this article as I was perusing the research on hyperbarics this week. Earlier this year, the National Brain Injury Rescue and Rehabilitation study was founded to address, among other things, if Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy was helpful for traumatic brain injury and PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress disorder). The general consensus has been yes, but they needed to put the research together so they can present it to the Department of Defense as a viable treatment option for brain injured veterans and active military personnel.
The study came back with a resounding Yes! Patients got better regardless of sex, age, and time lapsed since injury. Even a patient who had been injured over 40 years prior got an improvement in their symptoms. And there were no adverse effects.
