do you happen to know of any tumblrs that do what you do, but for other... types(?) of people? i'm struggling to find an active LGBT writing guide blog specifically at the moment but it'd be nice to have a masterlist of any blog of this variety, since tumblr's search is remissfully unhelpful..! tysm
Hi lovely asker!
So there used to be a whole lot of blogs that were labeled "Scriptx" blogs and of course others too. Good thing is a lot of them were archived! So while they're not open for new questions you can still use the search and use the information provided to other asks they answered. So I'm gonna tag the other active blogs or the ones that are just on hiatus and then I'm gonna link all the archived ones!

Also of the active blogs some don't have their ask box open and/or some are on small hiatus'. Please be respectful of that, pretty please, everyone puts in a lot of time and effort and yeah.

ScriptX Weekly Update
2/15/17
Hey, yâall and welcome back to the update. A lot of exciting stuff happened this week, so stick around to see whatâs happening.
Announcements
@script-a-world would like me to remind you that we have @scriptastronomer for questions about the effects of planets and moons on fictional worlds.
Featured Posts
A Wild Guest Post Appears
@scriptmedic has recently had an opportunity to guest post on the blog Writers Helping Writers. In this post, Aunt Scripty talks about how to write your characterâs pain well. She covers the scale of the pain, how often an author should bring it up, and how much it can ebb and flow.
Welcome to Columbia!
So if you were to build a floating city a la Columbia from Bioshock Infinite, what would you need to consider for your humans to survive? Well, good news: @scriptecology has a post with details on what you need to think about with people that high.Maybe make the launch day April 20th.
Pyromancers Sans Pyro
So, unlike firebenders, someone who wants a fire in real life needs a fuel source (Unless itâs an M. Night Shyamalan firebender). @scriptchemist helps out this asker with figuring out how a sorcerer could light up the night using realistic scientific principles.
âIs a Character With X a Spoonieâ
What is a spoonie? According to @scriptspoonie , a spoonie is ââsomeone with a chronic illness or disability that regularly impacts their energy levels and/or ability to get things done.â With that in mind, there are many illnesses that can make someone need to budget their energy. In this post, the mods give us readers some ideas of what
After the End
Law school is expensive, takes an incredible amount of effort, and it would be such a shame it you were to be disbarred. And then your character is. Whoops. So instead of throwing all that time and money away, what else could your character do? @scriptlawyer has a few ideas for you.
Common Canadian Wildlife
If youâre unfamiliar with Canada, trying to figure out the wildlife you might encounter may be difficult. Luckily, @scriptcanuck has a quick list that you could use for reference.
Flower Here, Flower There, Flower Not Supposed to be There
So youâre going along, writing your story, and your character stops to smell the roses. But then you remember, your character is at the top of a snowy mountain in the middle of winter. Why the heck are there any flowers up here? Well, with a little bit of magic, maybe there could be some? What do you think @scriptflorist ?
Let's Talk Tropes
Tropes are all over the place. Tropes are essentially what help us identify a genre. So how can you use them properly? @scriptstructure helps us writers with some ideas to use our basic components to make a phenomenal new story.
Ask Box Statuses
@scriptkink âs ask box is closed due to her hiatus. She thanks you for your patience.
New Family
We have two new family blogs this week. Everyone please welcome
@scriptfirefighter - here to shed some light on, well, firefighters.
And @scriptequestrian - here to help you with your questions about horses and riding.

Hey Scripty, happy October - loving the blog you are doing many wonderful things. My Nano project is going to revolve around the recovery of a character who breaks his back and right femur in an aircraft crash (incomplete t-11, paraplegia and wheelchair dependency). Crash happens at an airshow so medics would be on hand; my question is what would the extraction from the wreckage of the aircraft look like, the period between the crash and getting the chara in the chopper?
Ooooooooooooooooffff. Recovering people from an airplane crash is not my forte; my people would only go to work after @scriptfirefighter âs kin put out the flaming wreckage and manage scene safety.Â
The first piece is making it safe -- making sure nothing is going to go boom or set the crew on fire.Â
The second challenge is cutting them out of the wreckage.Â
The third challenge is caring for them medically, which means a) stabilizing the C-spine with manual stabilization (hands on the side of the head) and a collar, then immobilizing them with a spine board, b) cutting their flight suit off, c) doing a full trauma assessment, d) fixing anything life threatening, e) getting IVs in place and possibly putting an airway in place if theyâre not breathing or not breathing well.)Â
Then medevac, then surgery, then long, protracted recovery period.Â
Good luck with your story and I hope Doc can help you, his is an excellent blog!Â
xoxo, Aunt Scripty

Hiya! This may be out of left field, but I was wondering what paramedics/firefighters do when they pull pets out of burning buildings. Do they give them oxygen like people? Treat injuries? Or rush them to a vet? Thank you!
I think this is a fine question for @scriptfirefighter !Â

Script Family Weekly Update
5/31/17
Hey, Y'all, and welcome back to the update. Iâm traveling now, meaning Iâm typing this up on my laptop while in the car going to my auntâs wedding. Fun stuff. Moving on to the stuff you care about.
Announcements
@scripttorture has posted its first media analysis on George Orwellâs 1984. Check that out here.
@scriptpolitics is still on hiatus. Your patience is appreciated.
Featured Posts
An Introduction to Technical Rescue
With many careers, you have a standard path where you learn the basic skills of the job and master them, but more specific options are available. For firefighters, these options include various technical rescue paths, such as structural collapse- mentioned in this ask. @scriptfirefighter briefly talks about how these teams handle a structural collapse.
Galaxy Explosive 7
You are likely familiar with how lit Samsungâs Galaxy Note 7 was.
Though that may not have been beneficial to the consumers, Samsung, most airports, and probably anybody in a five-foot (1.5-ish meters) radius of the device, maybe your MC can do something useful with it- say setting off a fire alarm remotely due to the smoke from the device. Would they be able to rig the phone to explode when they want it to? @scripthacker would say yes and provides a couple of alternatives to get that fire alarm to go off.
The Man Behind the Curtain
Who is the great and mighty publisher?
*Ahem* Publisher. To rephrase, who is an author talking about when they say, âMy publisher says [x]â? Is it a single person, or is it the company? @scriptpublishingindustry gives us some insight into this phrase.
Mapmaking Part 1
Many authors like to make maps as a reference for themselves or their readers. Maps enable someone to orient themselves in the fictional world. This mapmaking tutorial by Pylon Bina of @script-a-world starts on the basics of drawing a continent map.
Shattered Leg, Shattered Pride (CW: discussion of animals amputating their own legs)
This askerâs sapient canine is a strong, independent girl who needs nobody, or at least until she broke her leg. Also, sheâs not sure, but it might be infected. Sheâs definitely having trouble hunting. The askerâs question: would it make sense for her to amputate her own leg? @scriptveterinarian talks about how this scenario might play out.
âBestfriendsâ (CW: this one is from @scripttraumasurvivors and discusses PTSD, symptoms of PTSD, and triggers)
PTSD is most often associated with soldiers returning from war. However, post-traumatic stress disorder can come after many types of trauma. Â Many symptoms result from this disorder and have different degrees of intensity for different people. @scripttraumasurvivors talks about some of those symptoms in this post.
Post-Apocalyptic Diet
Say goodbye to your money, your water, your electricity, and everything else you hold dear because the apocalypse is here! So now what? Your character still has to eat. Whatâs even going to last more than a day without a fridge? @scriptfoodie can help you our here.
Ask Box Statuses
@scriptmedic still has her ask box open until the 3rd. Remember, her ask box empties at the end of each month.Â
New Family
We have no new family this week.
And thatâs all for this week. Tune in next time for more from the script family. Until then, this is your host signing off
-Splat
Edit: Thank you anon for pointing out that i didnât have the links. Sorry folks.Â
