do you happen to know of any tumblrs that do what you do, but for other... types(?) of people? i'm struggling to find an active LGBT writing guide blog specifically at the moment but it'd be nice to have a masterlist of any blog of this variety, since tumblr's search is remissfully unhelpful..! tysm
Hi lovely asker!
So there used to be a whole lot of blogs that were labeled "Scriptx" blogs and of course others too. Good thing is a lot of them were archived! So while they're not open for new questions you can still use the search and use the information provided to other asks they answered. So I'm gonna tag the other active blogs or the ones that are just on hiatus and then I'm gonna link all the archived ones!

I briefly scrolled through a few of these that I personally wasn't aware of but I can't vet and scroll through each and every individual blog in its entirety because well it would take a very very long time. Also of the active blogs some don't have their ask box open and/or some are on small hiatus'. Please be respectful of that, pretty please, everyone puts in a lot of time and effort and yeah.

Hi I just wanted to know if scriptkink was still a working blog. I don't know all the blogs of the script family but maybe you could help, if that's okay to ask.
From what we can tell, @scriptkink is inactive. We haven’t heard from the mod of the blog in a few months. Sorry!

ScriptX Weekly Update
2/15/17
Hey, y’all and welcome back to the update. A lot of exciting stuff happened this week, so stick around to see what’s happening.
Announcements
@script-a-world would like me to remind you that we have @scriptastronomer for questions about the effects of planets and moons on fictional worlds.
Featured Posts
A Wild Guest Post Appears
@scriptmedic has recently had an opportunity to guest post on the blog Writers Helping Writers. In this post, Aunt Scripty talks about how to write your character’s pain well. She covers the scale of the pain, how often an author should bring it up, and how much it can ebb and flow.
Welcome to Columbia!
So if you were to build a floating city a la Columbia from Bioshock Infinite, what would you need to consider for your humans to survive? Well, good news: @scriptecology has a post with details on what you need to think about with people that high.Maybe make the launch day April 20th.
Pyromancers Sans Pyro
So, unlike firebenders, someone who wants a fire in real life needs a fuel source (Unless it’s an M. Night Shyamalan firebender). @scriptchemist helps out this asker with figuring out how a sorcerer could light up the night using realistic scientific principles.
“Is a Character With X a Spoonie”
What is a spoonie? According to @scriptspoonie , a spoonie is ““someone with a chronic illness or disability that regularly impacts their energy levels and/or ability to get things done.” With that in mind, there are many illnesses that can make someone need to budget their energy. In this post, the mods give us readers some ideas of what
After the End
Law school is expensive, takes an incredible amount of effort, and it would be such a shame it you were to be disbarred. And then your character is. Whoops. So instead of throwing all that time and money away, what else could your character do? @scriptlawyer has a few ideas for you.
Common Canadian Wildlife
If you’re unfamiliar with Canada, trying to figure out the wildlife you might encounter may be difficult. Luckily, @scriptcanuck has a quick list that you could use for reference.
Flower Here, Flower There, Flower Not Supposed to be There
So you’re going along, writing your story, and your character stops to smell the roses. But then you remember, your character is at the top of a snowy mountain in the middle of winter. Why the heck are there any flowers up here? Well, with a little bit of magic, maybe there could be some? What do you think @scriptflorist ?
Let's Talk Tropes
Tropes are all over the place. Tropes are essentially what help us identify a genre. So how can you use them properly? @scriptstructure helps us writers with some ideas to use our basic components to make a phenomenal new story.
Ask Box Statuses
@scriptkink ‘s ask box is closed due to her hiatus. She thanks you for your patience.
New Family
We have two new family blogs this week. Everyone please welcome
@scriptfirefighter - here to shed some light on, well, firefighters.
And @scriptequestrian - here to help you with your questions about horses and riding.

Hello, I'm curious if you can help me with this two doubts or if you know who can: 1. My MC crash in a planet where there are not other sentient live with him, there is only savage animals and plant, and he is reunited with his team in 5 years (of the planet, to the team only passed a month) so, in that time is possible that he has forgotten how to talk, interact or act as a human? and
2. if the MC has been drugged with aphrodisiacsb4 sex, how much time has to pausible pass for his body to answer to have sexwith the other without the need of the drug?
Oh lore!Question 2 is entirely out of myknowledge base. Sorry. I don’t think ScriptKink would be able to help either(and I think they’re on hiatus). Your best bet might be trying to find someonewho’s used Viagra in the past.
Question1 on the other hand I can handle.
This kindof isolation seems to work differently to solitary confinement in prisons. There seems to be a greater resistance to the damaging effects of isolation inthe wild. I suspect it’s because there’s more for the person to do. There’s no limit on exercise, there’splenty of sensory stimulation.
And wellwe’re adapted for those sorts ofconditions in a way that we aren’t for empty rooms.
Even ifhe was in solitary confinement in a prison setting your character wouldn’t forget how to speak. It’sreally damn difficult to get an adult to forget how to speak or to forget theirname. So neither of those things are likely.
Socialinteraction on the other hand would almost certainly be affected.
Evenpeople who have some resistance to isolation find it difficult to relate topeople the way they used to after that sort of time period. It isn’t so muchthat they ‘forget how to be human’ it’s……….they forget how to act like a socialised human.
So muchof the way we function around each other is based on unwritten societal rules. We’re taught from a young age how much physical contact with other humans in ‘normal’and who we’re allowed to have that contact with.
InAmerica for instance a handshake between men is acceptable while kissing eachother’s cheeks would be unusual. In Greece both are acceptable greetings and ifthe men are close or related then refusingto kiss can be a social snub.
In Franceshaking hands or hugging someone of the opposite gender wouldn’t be unusual. Inthe many parts of the Middle East (if they’re not family) it would.
There areother examples. Cultures all have their quirks. We have rules about how andwhen it is acceptable to show emotion. Rules about how we talk to each other.Rules about we act in front of each other. Social rules if you will.
Over fiveyears your character is likely to stop acting on these social rules. And that’slikely to be compounded by the psychological effects of isolation, things likedepression and anxiety would be common responses to his situation.
He mighthave emotional outbursts in front of the rest of the crew, crying easily whenhe’s sad or shouting when he’s angry. (Note these do not have to be aggressivebut should be different to the way he acted before.) He might seek out physicalcontact in situations where it’s not completely socially acceptable or he mightavoid physical contact when it is socially expected.
He mightalso not want to talk as much as he did before, or talk constantly without letting other people get a word in edgeways.
He shouldbe able to re-integrate into his society, but it will take some time andpatience.
I hopethat helps, you should be able to find out more about social isolation fromScriptShrink’s blog.

ScriptX Family Weekly Update
2/8/2017
Hey guys, and welcome back.
Announcements
@scripthistory has reached over 1000 followers!
This blog also reached over 1,000 followers this week.
@scriptshrink has reached over 2,000 followers and revealed the blog’s mascot, Brainy. Go check the post out here.
@scriptkink is currently on hiatus due to personal reason. She thanks you for your patience.
Featured Posts
Alien First Aid
So your character just watched a shooting star actually land. Your character decides to go check it out and what do you know, there’s an alien inside. Also, your character is pretty sure the alien is injured. So how is your character going to keep this thing alive without taking it to a doctor, because, well government experiments and all. @scriptveterinarian should have you covered.
A Beautiful Mind
In a world where humans can upload their minds, how might that work? That’s the topic @scripthacker answers in this post. Lotus discusses what a “digital person” would be, and how it could feasibly work.
Keeping an Open Mind
Telepathy! A lot of people think it would be a cool power. The problem is when you’re autistic and hyper-empathetic or tend to get overloaded, hearing people’s thoughts is not helpful. @scriptautistic gives some ideas as to how an autistic person could manage this common super power.
How the Corps Rank Up
@scriptsailor received an ask about how the ranks in the military compare to each other. It’s a brief post, but it’s informative. Go check it out.
The Burbs
So down under, there’s a thing called swooping season. Alfred Hitchcock’s “The Birds” seems like just another Tuesday. @scriptaussie talks about some of the common birds that swoop.
Two At the Ballet
Your character is at practice with his bae. They're both excellent dancers. They've both played lead roles multiple times before, though not together. Then the instructor comes in and places the role sign up sheet on the wall. Your character goes to check out the sheets. He reads the roles.
“Lead Male 1: a passionate man, trying to find a way to be with his lover.
“Lead Male 2: a powerful man, the second lover…”
Finally, the perfect part for him and his boyfriend. ( @scriptballerina )
Growing Old Together
In the 1700s and 1800s, homosexuality was a more private thing because people like to have friends. Your character happens to be one of those people who likes to have friends. I'm summarizing this ask severely, but that's why you should check out @scripthistory ‘s post.
Ask Box Statuses
@scriptkink currently has the ask box closed due to hiatus.
New Family
No new family this week. Though, knowing how things go, there’s bound to be more at some point.
And that’s it for this week. See you next week, and this is you’re host signing off.

ScriptX Family Weekly Update
3/1/2017
Greetings, folks. It’s Wednesday, meaning it’s time for the update, so let’s get right to it.
Announcements
@scriptservicedogs and @scriptpublishingindustry are on hiatus for another week or two due to personal reasons.
Featured Posts
There's a Hole Lotta Water in the Boat
Hello NSA my old friend I need to do research again. I need to sink a battleship And do it at a rapid clip.
Sinking ships are dramatic as evidenced by movies such as Titanic. But you're writing a Navy tale filled with strapping young lads and women who are trying to figure out who those lads think they're impressing. Still a sinking ship could make a good plot device. @scriptsailor has an ask about sinking a ship with the forces of nature alone. Can it happen?
Hide and Go Seek Tag
Your character needs to find a person. The main problem is that they've never met in real life. And their last online encounter ended with your MC being blocked. That's a problem when you need to tell this person the Really Important Thing™. So how might they find this person offline? @scripthacker has some ideas that might help you.
It's Been a Long Day
With Disney’s recent movie, Moana, one might find more interest in Polynesian myths than before. With this, @scriptmyth has done some research on Polynesian myths and recounts for us the myth of how Maui, the (demi-)god featured in Moana, slowed the sun itself to give his mother more time in her day. Now that’s my kind of love story.
Karneval, Fasching, Fasnet: The Fifth Season
@scriptgerman takes the timing of Ash Wednesday to tell us about a special festival going on in Germany during this time. It’s a long post, but it’s detailed and maybe you could use it with one of your characters?
It Was Colonel Mustard in the Animal Clinic with the Syringe
Could you kill someone using the drugs animal clinics carry to put down animals? Well, according to @scriptveterinarian , the answer is yes. But how exactly would it work? Well, the good doctor’s post has that information right there for you.
A New Member Has Joined the Party
Rarely do people enjoy having their routine interrupted, but when one relies on that routine to function, it’s not some minor shake up. @scriptautistic helps this asker with an autistic character who has worked with a team of investigators for years and have learned to interact in a way that helps them all when a man with a plan shows up to follow them around. Fireworks are bound to go off.
The Molding Bread
So in an ideal scenario, your protagonist will finally cross the barren wasteland to find a glorious feast waiting for them. But you’re writing fiction. Who likes ideal scenarios? What if instead, they found a pile of old food, but it’s a bit moldy. @scriptfoodie tells us about how likely your protagonist is to survive eating this food without it coming back up or rapidly exiting.
Ask Box Statuses
Currently, only @scriptkink ‘s ask box is closed.
New Family
No new family for this week, but there will be more.
And that’s all for this week. Tune in next time for more news about the script family. This is your host signing off.

ScriptX Family Weekly Update
Hey y’all, and welcome back to the weekly update. The fam has had a lot of excellent posts this week, so you should definitely take a look at those especially. Anyways, on to announcements.
Announcements
@scriptsocialwork is still looking for a mod to help with adoption and the foster system. Please contact her via message if you are interested.
Featured Posts
Beauty and the Alien
“Beauty and the Beast” an old tale of love, romance, forgiveness, Stockholm Syndrome, but that’s been redone enough times. So instead, what if we took a prisoner, put him on a spaceship, and had an alien try to induce Stockholm Syndrome. Yeah, not exactly a light and happy story idea, but then again the best books have the not so happy scenarios. (@scriptshrink )
Sheltered Life
Your character has finally started the animal shelter of their dreams. Now what? Every job has its quirks, so what problems might a shelter owner encounter? @scriptveterinarian has a couple prompts to think about when the dogs are let out.
I’m Gonna Steal the Moon
So what would have happened if Gru had actually stolen the moon? Well, grab your surfboards and head to the pawn shop, ‘cause you aren’t using that anymore dude. You may want to use that money to pay for 10% of a plane ticket out of Hawaii cause according to @scriptastronomer , those volcanoes may no longer be your friend.
Low Battery
Your character has to monitor her energy closely. However, she wants to go to the amusement park tomorrow with her friends. How might she make sure she doesn’t overextend her energy? @scriptspoonie has some ideas that may help you when you’re writing.
Captain Punisher: The Nerdy Soldier
Soldiers, the buffest of boiz, the toughest of titans, and… the coolest of comic readers? Yep. Turns out, soldiers do enjoy their comics, their videogames, their tabletops, all that good stuff. An excellent example of this is the common use of the Punisher skull on their gear. But why do they like the Punisher? @scriptsoldier has a few ideas that may help your writing.
Shady Greens
Karen works in a coffee shop. It’s a great job, paying pretty well even though most days are pretty slow. It’s just, something keeps bugging her. Sometimes she gets a look at the books and what she’s seeing doesn’t line up with what she’s selling. Maybe something shadier is going on that has nothing to do with the storefront. What do you think, @@scriptaccountant ?
Throw A Shrimp on The Barbie
Except don’t. @scriptaussie has taken plenty of time to show those of us who don’t live down under, so, please. Just, no. They don’t say that. Don’t use it.
Super School
The voices. They just keep talking. Saying random pointless things that you can’t focus anymore. Will they just stop? At least if that one guy could stop thinking that one girl and what- and I’m gonna stop there. Simply said, being a telepath in school would suck, but would it cause enough problems to warrant special accommodation? @scripteducator gives some insights into what qualifies for special ed and how it is implemented.
Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes
Dancing is an art, but it’s also physically demanding. After a long session, a dancer is going to have some sore spots. So what should a writer keep in mind when their character gets home from practice? @scriptballerina has this covered.
One Hand Band
Gettin’ down and dirty might not be as easy as it used to be when you’ve lost part of a limb. When you’re writing your fun scenes, you may need to consider some new challenges your characters will likely face such as asymmetric touching. @scriptkink helped this asker with a soldier who’s heading into the bedroom for the first time in a while.
Cold-Blooded Community
Reptiles are strange. Like plants, they have unusual reactions to heat and humidity. What would a world filled with humanoid reptiles need to have to survive? @script-a-world has a good answer ready for you to read.
Bright Life
No longer shall fireflies be the only thing in the sky that glows, for behold, the great glow birb, flying high in the night sky shall forever reign as the most magnificent light of the avian kingdom. But hold on, why are the birb frens glowing all of a sudden? Is that even possible? Well, @scriptgenetics says it could work, so might as well give it a shot
Disclaimer: this blog nor any blogs associated with this blog encourage the making glow birbs outside of your fictional writings. Ethics and all that.
Spirited Practice
You may recall a featured post a few weeks ago from @scriptwitchcraft about banishing spirits. Mod T has taken some time and made a kind of prequel post covering the basics of what spirit work is and how your character would perform some of the basic rituals of spirit work. Hopefully, this will be a good starting point for some of your writing.
