3) you say i one “inciting targeted harassment” to you. if look back entire time only ask for help “tell” help “explain.” very first post use word “deal” because not have access all word not able pick choose, but is clarify as able find more word, tell & explain. use beg, that in same context. which, ask other help explain thing am not able explain, has been thing so many times because. communication impairment not able do explain, so ask others.

because not been on tumblr much, not know all thing happening (only read few post in your blog & got upset early & left so if talk about it somewhere deeper did not get there), not able see everything, only vague know people respond to my post because get notif but not able really read all because overwhelm & receptive language impair. and. general not aware things. not able know or even think about thing that happen behind scene beyond what able see, because theory of mind.

4) with all that. going try say this as calm as can, think you really should learn more about entire nonverbal experience, because look like you only know part. think this because first few messages, and now responses to me.

many nonverbal people not just “not able mouth speak but can do everything else like speaking person.” because way understand is seem you think part this.

some’s struggle with expressive language/communication may end at mouth talk, but able communicate perfect other ways, AAC letterboard etc. this may be closest thing to that but still not quite because many in this category struggle many with motor. not all like be call impair & deficit, so not use, but struggle even if only mouth talk sometime still consider expressive language/communication struggle. even though all communication valid. because it something you not able do, and that not able do create hard thing even with accessibility aid. AAC slow, letterboard slower. less spontaneous. not able do same as mouth talk as you think, not able do fast flow. that struggle. AAC letterboard allow communicate and that need be heard but attempt erase difference wrong.

but for others, many other of us. language communication struggle much more that. can see this in how me act through this.

throughout this can see repeat many time have thought have feeling not able put words. not able write that type that, but also not able put thought into word in own head. trapped in head trap in thought trap in own world not able get out. that very frustrate and that communication impair.

few word do able have, not accurate not able elaborate. like “tell” & “beg” - in head mean please someone explain to them that not true & what me meant. this lead to misunderstand. that communication impair. yes speaking and/or allistic people may also struggle understand, but not mean me magic not have impair.

and when misunderstand happen, not able fast defend self. not able clarify what mean. and you see what this lead to. that impair. if able respond faster or even if able clarify more by what mean “explain,” this not happen. that impair and it affect other people, you living it. but am even lucky in this, able defend self after while if spend many hour even some days spend all that time think how put thought to word. because many nonverbal people not able to. know nonverbal people who even with best AAC best modeling best teach, still not really able communicate with word. know nonverbal people who even struggle reliably voluntarily use nonverbal communication like gesture like sound. that struggle, that impair.

and, be nonverbal & higher autism level & bunch other thing, one of mean is struggle control emotion at all. if get upset angry not able think right even less able find right word which lead to unclear communicate or none at all.

me type like this write like this. that communication impair. still able communicate and deserve heard, yes, but still impair because not have as much able than other. both true.

so after this after all went through still think all autistic not have communication impair, really not know what tel you.

5) this idea that “all i did was nonverbal autistic do communicate and you treat me like THIS.”

first, no what you said not “nonverbal autistic do communicate.” what say was i wrong for say nonverbal autistic (specifically me) not have communication deficit/impair, that i wrong for say that for self, that say that because have negative view for self.

all communication valid but not all communication same & able do same thing. try go through entire day without any word any speak any type any AAC. only nonverbal communication. yes able communicate and should be listen but see how limiting. cannot talk abt dreams talk about more complex wants n needs cannot talk about abstract cannot talk about future goals cannot talk about anything that not have something physical able point to.

do not need you “defend” me (first comments), against other or self. not need you save me. you came in tell me i not correct for own experience, that my experience factual incorrect. you spoke over me & whether meant to or not, decide i not able decide for own self that need someone help correct. that wrong and rude, and seem like through your many message now you still not see that wrong. not need knight in shining armor. not need you save me from “my negative view of self” because admit have impair have deficit neutral fact not negative. not need you explain me to me.

similar to how do not need abled people tell me (or you) you not disabled you just differently abled have ability in own way. or like wheelchair user me not mobility impaired just differently walking (yes wheelchair help get around but not erase me not able walk right.

Can I ask how do you deal with hurtful comments on your fanfics from someone you consider a friend? Like I know if some stranger send hurtful comments it felt bad but damn when someone you know said the same thing it felt worse. Early this year I was kicked out and blocked from an animanga lover group when they find out that I wrote mlm fanfics from major shounen series (naruto,bnha, aot, jjk). This what they said :

“I'm convinced you must have never had friends before because all of these relationships are perfect depictions of what PLATONIC friendship is. If you want a gay story support ACTUAL gay couples like in BL & GL manga. Do you know how frustrating it is to see people move mountains for a non canon ship that’ll never happen then ignore actual gay manga’s and anime’s in BL & GL anime/manga...."

What do you think? Even until now, I'm still feeling a bit guilty for liking non canon mlm and wlw ships from shounen series. But when I found your blog and read your posts, I felt way better. Especially that answer of yours to anon who asked is it weird to love mlm& wlw more than wlm. Thanks for sharing your hard work (analysis, fanfics, arts, reviews).

Ohhhh this is so precious please don't apologize for sending me this ask, I love feelings and hearing about other peoples' experiences with them and how my art/accounts have somehow been relatable because of that.

The peer pressure in fandoms is absolutely insane and convinces me that the social aspect works the same as any high school full of bullies. There WILL be mean girls, there WILL be cliques, and if you're a creator like me, you're going to be a MAGNET for like ten different types of them.

As for how I deal with hurtful comments, I was raised in an environment that constantly shamed me. I was controlled from all sides on what I could draw, write, and consume, so I'm used to being shunned by those who "love" me because of what I'm interested in! Because of this, the hate comments were what I EXPECTED going in and the positive comments were actually the things that threw me for loops. Hurtful comments only had the power to nag at me when I didn't have an audience (or friends) to bounce them off of so they wouldn't keep popping up as a "do I actually do this, though?" "am I actually bad for this?". But now they don't bother me; they give me the chance to either make a troll reply or spice up my friends' group chat for the day.

As far as a FRIEND leaving a hurtful comment??? I have so much sympathy for you. I am SO sorry they treated you that way.

When I make friends, I tell them openly what I do and to what extent. This way, I gather the type of people I want and push away those who don't. If they think it's not okay, they're silly.

Those friends who kicked you out of their little club? SILLY. They think they're so pure and moral for gatekeeping what can and can't be done with creativity and passion. They won't ever know what it feels like to live as freely as you do. In the end, their opinion is an opinion that is largely not shared by the logical, rational public. Any professional in the art/film/writing industry can tell you that much. How else are we supposed to make stories? Have a little IMAGINATION!! DAMN!

I'm saying a lot of this because it's the best thing to tell yourself when you read things that are clearly meant to make you feel shame when you haven't done a single thing wrong. Since this is Tumblr and I can ramble to my heart's content, maybe it'll help you if I also point out the specific tools that have been used in that message they sent you. Sometimes a good breakdown of tactics is all it takes to remind yourself you're not in the wrong.

"I'm convinced you must have never had friends before" AKA "you're so ignorant" - invalidating your experiences to crumble any foundation you might've had to stand on if you wanted to argue back. Starting off with this helps them cut you down so your self-esteem is lowered.

"these relationships are perfect depictions of what PLATONIC friendship is" - their opinion is being stated here as a fact, as if the entire world agrees with them and there's no other way to see it. First of all, this means NOTHING to the shipping world, since it exists largely to turn friendships into romances. Idk what they wanted to do with that one.

"If you want a gay story support ACTUAL gay couples like in BL & GL manga" - I'm not sure what kind of burn that is. SUPPORT ACTUAL GAY COUPLES LIKE THE REST OF US!! Okay snuffledumpkins. Guess nobody taught them how to MULTITASK!!! GUESS WHAT? I CAN SUPPORT ACTUAL GAY COUPLES *AND* NON-CANON GAY COUPLES, FREAK! WHAT NOW, HUH??? Being serious though, this is an attempt to define for YOU what ''''''true gay couples'''''' are (ACCORDING TO THEM), when this is an entirely fluid meaning and can be applied to whomever you'd like in fiction. This is THE PURPOSE OF FANFICTION.

I've been on Tumblr for years but have only really started posting within the last few months. I've been an avid fic reader and have seen the tags filled with other things. I never bothered or really cared because to me it's not something that mattered and I was glad for it because sometimes I found something interesting that I wouldn't have otherwise.

All that to say that I figured it was something everybody did because of how often I saw it. Also, again, tagging takes time and is my least favorite thing to do but I enjoy writing and I know y'all enjoy reading. I want people to see what I write because I put time into my craft. Are you still responding on comments at AO3?

Besties, 

I want to talk about something that makes me uncomfortable. I hope you’ll allow me to speak my mind, hear what I’m saying, and not jump to any conclusions. Please don’t read any further into this than what it’s actually about. 

I want to talk about comments on AO3. 

Comments on AO3 are so fucking important. If you’ve ever published something on AO3, you know how incredibly special they are. Writing is such a long, lonely process that we all do for free. We challenge ourselves to be creative and to produce content that we want to see in the world. We take time away from our own lives and responsibility to do something that we love to do. 

And sometimes, if you’re lucky, you’ll build up a little following of people that enjoy your stuff. People who will read your fics religiously, even if it’s not something they would have previously clicked on. And that, my friends, is an insane feeling of validation. It’s something I’ve never experienced before, even though I’ve been writing since I was 12. 

F1 RPF is such a special place to be. 

Having you all back me and support me is insane. I love it so much. The fact you have such faith in my writing that you’ll click on a fic and go into it with an open mind simply because I wrote it is mind-blowing to me. I never want that to change, and I never want you all to feel like I’m immune or numb to that. I am so incredibly thankful for your support. 

I’ll never be able to find the words to express how much joy I get from posting a fic and seeing you all freak out over it. It makes it worthwhile. It inspires me to keep going. It builds my confidence and helps me continue to take time out of my personal life to write these things, knowing that I’m not just doing it for myself anymore. 

But that’s where the tricky part comes in, and I’m not sure how to talk about it without sounding like a whining little bitch. I don’t want you to think I’m telling you how to praise me. I never want you to think I’m taking feedback, comments, or praise for granted because I promise you I’m not. 

I still cry and gag and scream over every single comment I receive, no matter how long or short the comment is. I screenshot them and send them off rapid-fire to my little group of besties so that we can all cry over them together. 

But I think it’s important we keep it on the right platform. 

Very recently, I have stopped responding to comments on AO3. It wasn’t an easy decision for me, and I cried actual real-life tears about it because I didn’t want anyone to hate me or think I was a rude, self-absorbed lil bitch. 

Up until this week, I was religiously responding to every single comment I received. Because I wanted you all to know how much they meant to me. But I’ve reached a certain point now where it’s taking too much time out of my day to respond to them all when I feel like I could be using that time for better things. Like producing more content for you. 

But I’ve noticed, particularly this last week since I stopped responding on AO3, that my Tumblr inbox is suddenly full of AO3 comments. I can’t help but think it’s because I still respond to (almost) every Tumblr ask I get but have opted out of responding on AO3. And if that’s the case, I totally get it. Because interaction is important, and we all enjoy talking to each other! 

I don’t want anybody to think I’m asking you not to interact with me. 

I fucking love talking to you guys. You all make me laugh, and cry, and gag, and scream and panic-pace around my apartment with some of our conversations. I never want you to stop sliding into my dm’s or sliding into my asks, on anon or off anon, to scream about things with me. 

But what I’m asking... is that you also leave a comment on AO3. If you only have the time or desire to write on one platform... please make it AO3. Come to my tumblr to talk to me, Kate, about anything you want. Or, copy and paste the AO3 comment into my tumblr ask so I can repost it for everyone to see. But I’d ask that you not skip the AO3 comments to post on my tumblr instead. Because... they belong on AO3.

Whenever I’m feeling sad or down, I’ll go reread the comments on my AO3 fics. If they’re split between two platforms, comments are more likely to get lost in the mix, and that makes me so sad to think about because I want to reread them.

Also... stats matter. And I hope you don’t think I’m being cocky or entitled when I say that. But comments, kudos, and views matter. The story follows Jason as he tries to adjust to his new life as a paranormal investigator and tries to stay alive while combatting ghosts, demons and insane clients.
