Ever have your muse suddenly revive with all the force and power of getting slapped in the face with a bluefin tuna? Because that's how I feel right now. Aizen has awoken in full power. None of you are safe.

My experience with Analog Horror/ARGs and why you should check them out
Marble Hornets: the classic, and a big favorite of mine for obvious reasons. I cannot stress enough how good and spooky that series is, and the ToTheArk videos gave me nightmares, love it! <3
If you're into Slenderman stories, you should definitely check it out. The acting is very well done and the story is awesome overall :)
The Sun Vanished: the ARG that started my interest for ARGs, and especially enigmas/internet puzzles. Unfortunately I was not smart enough to figure the stuff out by myself, so I just watched explanations on it. Highly recommended if you like post-apocalyptic settings and subtle horror.
The Mandela Catalogue: possibly the series that brought back my interest for these things. I have only watched the first two seasons of it, as I sadly lost interest after a while, but from what I have watched, I would recommend it to those of you who like horror with religious themes (which is a big thing for me) and most importantly, trust issues. Do keep in mind this series deals with more serious and dark topics, though you have probably heard it already.
Local58: the analog horror of all analog horrors, Local58 barged in before TMC took the spotlight. There is so much going on and all of it is very interesting and scary. America's pride leads to its doom, the moon can control electronic devices, and weird creatures spread through the world. If you like stories that leave you not understanding what the hell just happened but loving it anyway, you will love Local58.
Rocket Archives: A single-video series that has unfortunately been taken down for reasons I am not certain of. But if you're curious what it was about, the video presented a reality where us humans were forced to leave Earth with how hot it was getting, and moved to contained bubbles in space. Suddenly, uh oh! The sun's getting closer! Outer Wilds moment! Everything is melting! Humans are gone and the sun is... alive???
Analog Archives: made by the creator of Rocket Archives, has also been taken down but can still be found re-uploaded. The series is slightly similar to Local58, as in it also focuses on broadcast hijacking used for ending off humans. The series also includes a few religious topics that can get very dark. I love it. "Nature Show" makes me tear up with fear every time.
Gemini Home Entertainment: ALL-TIME FAVORITE MOMENT!!! I don't think I need to explain why I love this one so much. GHE leaves a lot to your imagination/speculation, while also twisting your head directly into the direction of the threat and forcing you to look at it while you squirm in fear. GHE is subtle in the most obvious way, obvious in the most subtle way, and most importantly, IT'S COSMIC HORROR, BABY!!! THERE IS A PLANET IN OUR SOLAR SYSTEM THAT GOT HERE UNINVITED AND NOW IT WANTS TO EAT US!!! UGHHHH I can't put in words why I think it's so good, it just is. Watch it. The Gardeners are cute, I swear. There's even a plush of them.
Monument Mythos: something something alternate realities, something something time loops. I have not watched all of it, barely even half, but I deemed it a little bit too confusing for my brain. BUT! If you're into things that boogle your mind, you might really like this series! I mean, world monuments are alive, what could be scarier?
Vita Carnis: EW. (affectionate)
But, seriously, if you like gross, you are certainly going to like this series. It's meat, and it's alive. Although, I did stop watching it because it got a tad too graphic and violent for my taste, but if that doesn't bother you, then I recommend it a lot! The editing is soooo good, and some of the creatures are very likable and cute ^v^ (the others are gross and I do not want them near me I do not WANT FUCK OFF)
Don't Look at the Moon: Minecraft spooky. Do I need to say more?

In which I keep a promise to a bunch of people who read a fic five years ago and try to explain why I'm doing that now
In 2018, @vesperthine and I collaborated on run down till the rain delights you and when some people asked for more, we promised a sequel. That didn't happen.
Until now.
Tumblr media
Now it's snaking its way to AO3 like an aging Toyota on cold Tromsø roads (I'm really sorry for this silliness but one of the inspo photos we used did this to me).
There's a bit of a backstory:
First of all, you have @nofeartina to blame for run down in the first place and @peacestew to blame for me sliding into the SKAM fandom in 2023 going "hiiii I haven't been in this fandom for years but here's a fic".
In 2018, Tina wanted fisherman!Isak in a knit woolen jumper* and somehow roped V into writing it, and then V somehow roped me into a collab (I'm still entirely unsure how I ended up saying yes), we brainstormed and looked for inspo and wrote some scenes** to see how it went. Fisherman!Isak turned into marine!biologist!Isak with an old fishing boat and a cabin, Even pretended to be suave, the Tromsø area piped up about wanting to be more of a character than a location and there we were:

It was so much fun writing with V, and we got along so well, so we wrote a short sequel quite soon after. It just needed a few final tweaks.
Then life happened.
Long story short, I haven't heard from Vesperthine since summer 2019. I hope she's happy and well, and I hope she's writing original fiction because she's seriously gifted, and I miss her because she's a very sweet and smart and lovely person. I was left with a nearly finished draft and a hope she'd turn up again. Since then I've turned down requests to translate and podfic run down, and disappointed a few people asking about the promised sequel, because it didn't feel at all right to make those decisions without V's input.
But it's been five years (!!!), I doubt I'll ever hear from her again, that draft is sitting there on my drive, and... so earlier this year I started thinking about just going ahead and posting it. I went through all our notes and figured out what remained to be done (not much, we even had the title ready), and decided to do those tweaks at some point.
Then Peace slid into my notes a while ago (it had been a few years since we were in touch, I love it when old mates show up), we chatted quite a bit and somehow mentioned run down, and I'm entirely unsure how this snowball started rolling but now we're doing an art + fic collab with that sequel. She's been terribly enabling, and dangling pretty gifs in front of me, how could I resist? She even made a gorgeous title gif for run down. V would have been just as happy with this, I'm sure.
Considering that the sequel was just about finished, and V and I never had any actual disagreements while writing (one tiny scuffle about adjectives, we compromised), I think she'd be okay having her name put on the sequel. And I am okay with making that decision, since it's been so long. I've done the final editing, Peace has added her lovely gifs and now I'm just going to work up the courage to post it.
As stupid as I feel giving directions for fic reading I recommend you read (or re-read, bless everyone who has read it) run down till the rain delights you first, I'm not sure the sequel will make much sense otherwise.
the roll of the harbour wake is coming soon to a fic archive near you. Peace and I hope you will enjoy it.
Tumblr media
Gif by @peacestew
*the fic was almost immediately nicknamed The sweater fetish fic. Drooling over the guys in knit woolen jumpers kept happening for ages.
**the first scene we wrote didn't actually make it to run down, but we put it in harbour wake, and it goes to show that sometimes a fic takes a very different direction from where you start it.

GUESS WHO’S BACK
Tumblr media
I HAVE AWOKEN FROM MY *checks calendar* TWO YEAR SLUMBER! MAY THE G/T ANGST RAIN DOWN UPON THIS PAGE ONCE MORE!
In all seriousness though, hi! I’ve got some news!
Tumblr media
I don’t know if anyone will still remember this, but I used to have a sideblog a few years ago where I posted my g/t story called See Me. Unfortunately, I decided to delete that sideblog for a number of reasons, but eventually I came back to my main and said I’d put See Me somewhere else, potentially on AO3. Right after I said that, I asked for an invitation to AO3, did a little bit of waiting and then... totally forgot about it.
What can I say? We were in the heat of Covid times, my mental health was at an ATL, I was moving, and lots of other adult stuff happened. Since then, I just felt kind of bad about returning to this page with no new content of my own to put out. I used to write a lot and enjoy it, but lots of stuff in my life has been going on the past two years that hasn’t really motivated me to do any writing or creating of any kind. I know that I could still be liking and reblogging stuff, but coming back here just made me miss what I used to create, so I stopped for a little while.
BUT NOT FOR LONG! While it may not sound great, through a lot of self-reflection and therapy, I’ve kind of discovered that nowadays, I turn to g/t content when I’m going through a hard time. And, not gonna lie, I’m DEEP in the trenches from fucked up life events right now, so naturally, I found myself back on tumblr to connect with the g/t community again. But not on this page. That’s right! I made a new page and I’ve been LURKIN’ out here! And no, I will not reveal what that page is, but feel free to tell me if you think you’ve figured it out and I’ll be more than happy to tell you if that page is me or not.
Anyway, since I’ve been lurking and consuming as much g/t content as I can get my hands on, I’ve also gone back to my own archives and read through See Me about a billion more times. Not only did I polish it up a lot while keeping everything pretty much the same (mostly fixing spelling and grammar) but I also just told myself “you know what, I still really like this story.” And reading so many other amazing stories from other g/t writers on here really inspired me to finally get out there and put See Me back into the universe, while also writing a few new stories and AUs in the process that will hopefully see the light of day at some point.
ALL OF THAT TO SAY... I did it. See Me is finally up on AO3 right now! At least, MOST of it is. I really had to take a hard look at my word doc and think “why did I do this to myself” when I counted 39 chapters with almost 400 pages that I wanted to reread, edit again, and possibly add some polish on, chapter by chapter before putting it on AO3. As of writing this, I started uploading chapters last night and am currently done uploading chapter 19. So... about halfway done! I’m still going to keep uploading as I had the time to do so (I do have work tomorrow so... not as much time as the weekend but I’m going to post more) and eventually all 39 chapters will be available just as you remember them (or are reading for the first time if you never got to read See Me before).
I’ll also be uploading any of the prompt stories and other short stories I made to AO3, and any prompts that I get and write here in the future will be available there as well. Like I said, I have some new ideas too, some AUs and some completely new universes with new OCs that have also been sitting in my hard drive since I first started writing g/t stuff years ago. I’m hoping to keep up this motivation and to eventually write and put out those stories on AO3 too, so stick around for that if you’re interested!
To anyone that is still following this page and has maybe even been waiting for See Me to come back, thank you for your patience and support. I hope you still enjoy what I put out there, and I hope to keep up this motivation to create, even after things hopefully get better in my personal life.
As a little aside, some of the big motivators in my comeback, even though they wouldn’t know it, are @not-a-space-alien with their story Watch Your Step, @marydublinauthor and @bittykimmy13 with all their wonderful Shot In The Dark and Print/Trinket stories (please go buy their books, they are absolutely amazing), and @ratcatcher0325 with their stories A Fraction of Justice and Nobody’s Fool. I know that these tags might come out of nowhere for all of you, as I don’t think I’ve interacted with any of you personally on this account, but your stories inspire me so much that it really pushed me to put my work back out there again, especially if my work could make someone as happy as all your stories make me. So thank you! I look forward to reading all that you create in the future! And in case you’re thinking “but you only just started following me today/recently,” well, like I said, I’ve been lurking on another account, so I’m sure you might’ve seen me there and just not known it. Anyway, keep up the amazing work, and everyone else please go read their stuff! It’s awesome and full of g/t goodness!
Tumblr media
Well, I think that’s everything I had to say. I’m going to try and be more active on here and not just update about my AO3, because I don’t think that would be very fun. I’ll still get on here and like and reblog things that I like so feel free to stick around and interact. And if you want to interact with my work, please visit my AO3 page right here, or search for whatthisfemsheplikes on AO3! I’d love to see you there! Here’s to the future and I hope you all have some happy holidays coming up!
- Mo-Mo
TLDR; Life sucks but I’ve posted See Me, my g/t story, on AO3 so it’s back on the internet. You can read that and anything else I write on my page right here, or find me under the same username whatthisfemsheplikes on AO3!

Hey everyone, guess what’s on the internet? It’s the Daniel Kitson archive 2.0!
This first appeared on the internet a few months ago, and by "appeared", I mean I did a small amount of work and someone who isn't me did a large amount of work, and that put it online. My contributions were mainly listening to too many hours of radio files so I could work out what each one was, digging through things like old message board threads to match dates and radio stations and other metadata to those files, and cutting up some of the older ones to make song-free versions but saving titles and artists of those songs to make tracklists. Most of the files where I did the editing were from the older years when Kitson was not so diligent about back announcing and on some occasions told us that even he didn't know what the song was, so this involved a fair bit of Googling lyrics to indie music. That was my main contribution, really. I Googled a lot of lyrics to indie music. Those were my contributions, unless Daniel Kitson ever breaks his promise that he doesn't Google himself anymore and finds that website, in which case, my contributions were nothing and I have never heard of Daniel Kitson.
Seriously, though, someone else who has been amazingly helpful to me for the past year did all of the actual work of designing and creating the website, amassing the collection of audio files over many years, and quite a lot of the editing too, and I am very grateful for that, and all other comedy fans should be as well, and everyone should check out this beautiful bit of archiving.
A few updates have been made to the site since I first posted it months ago, and this weekend, a whole bunch more updates were made, which is how I justify the 2.0 designation. I re-listened to Kitson’s 2019 run last week to complete the last few tracklists that we were missing – so now every file that has songs also has a text-based tracklist as well as a music-free version. And for the 2019 run specifically, may I recommend the music-free version? Going back over that one really reminded me of how bad the music was in that year specifically – I didn’t love it in 2018/2020/2023 either, but I think 2019 was the worst. Anyway. Daniel Kitson has put some great music on his radio shows over the years and has introduced me to lots of music I now really like. But most of that is stuff he played before he got really into LCD SoundSystem in 2012.
Anyway. There are other significant updates, as compared to when it was first posted, in the misc. radio section. A bunch of files that I haven’t seen floating around anywhere else, and I have looked quite hard. The BBC Loose Ends clip from 2003 that he famously told a long story about in one of his early shows, and it is fascinating to get to hear the actual episode and compare it to the story (he is, of course, spot on). Just this weekend, a radio interview from 2002 was added that was fantastic Classic Kitson. And a bunch of guest spots on Australian radio from various years between 2006 and now. It’s good stuff.
The biggest update is that there’s now a whole new tab for writing. We avoided including reviews of specific Kitson shows, but it includes all kinds of other stuff, like interviews with him and profiles about him and even a few things written by Kitson. It’s heavy on stuff from early in his career, before he stopped agreeing to do interviews or be profiled. But there’s some recent stuff, from people who have profiled him whether he wants them to or not. A lot of those PDFs back up my theory that there are like five people in the world who are capable of sounding like a normal person while talking or writing about Daniel Kitson, and none of those people work for any major arts-reviewing publications (to be fair, none of them write this blog either).
I highly recommend going through this thing, even if you're not hugely into Daniel Kitson, because this is a great way to start. For specifics of what's contained in each section of the archive, I'll just link to the post I made when it first went up in May, since the information is basically the same now as it was then. But there's more of it now. A whole bunch more and it's all enormous fun.

by mistake, I posted this to a different blog of yours, and since I'm never going to be able to find that blog again on my own, here's the question repeated: how do you post on the archive so often? / how do you write so damn fast???? everytime I check there are a couple new works from you. I respect it, but I'm also super baffled :) seriously how do you do it? I'm new and struggling and all the free time in the world couldn't help me.
LOL, I see the other ask in my mentions-- just so everyone is on the same page, @drake-the-incubus and I are different people. But I get how you made that mistake.
Here's the God's honest truth: I learned to write fast by accepting that most of my writing is bullshit. Seriously! The more comfortable you are with writing hot garbage, the more you will write-- there have been actual published works I've been paid actual money for that were such trashfires on their first drafts that I had to edit every single sentence.
My all-time favorite bit of creative advice comes from the dancer Martha Graham, where she says that:
"There is a vitality, a life force, an energy, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and because there is only one of you in all of time, this expression is unique. And if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium and it will be lost. The world will not have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is, not how it compares with other expression. It is your business to keep it yours clearly and directly, to keep the channel open."
So whenever I have an idea, I'll try to write it out in some fashion, even if it's just a sentence of description or line of dialogue. My notes app is FILLED with lines that go nowhere, but they add up quickly, and they're there if I ever need them.
I also take a "by any means necessary" approach to finishing drafts for things I want/need to finish, so I'll change tenses mid-scene, or skip a few lines and go [INSERT INTRO PARAGRAPH HERE], or what have you. Last fall, I was so mentally exhausted by grad school that I wrote the first draft of one final paper by writing a few words and then just hitting the enter key to start a whole new thought -- I couldn't even hold myself together long enough to finish a sentence. But I got the draft done, and eventually the edited paper.
So, for me, this "keeping the channel open" also means cutting right to the heart of what I want to write and often not bothering with how I get there -- as I'm sure you've noticed, most of my fics are oneshots, and most of the oneshots are only a scene or two, lol. Start a short story as close to the end as possible, as Kurt Vonnegut once said.
And if it makes you feel any better: I honestly think it's funny you sent me (and other Drake) this ask, because I personally feel behind a lot of the writers I follow, lmaooo. I follow people who professionally publish 20+ poems a year or who post a new fic almost every single day. So don't beat yourself up about your writing speed -- instead, think of your creative mind as a muscle that you can work out, little by little, and grow stronger. I saw this on my pro-twt a few days ago, and I think it's helpful now:
Tumblr media
(As a side note, I don't even write every day, lmaoooooo.)
Anyway, I hope this helps! I also go over some other general writing tips here in this post. And you're welcome to ask for clarification or more advice if you have any other questions! I love talking about writing. c:

Answers about Teen Dating
Living and enjoying life is good but with Free Dating website you can make knot with others in long relation is very precious for us. When Dua is enjoying her downtime from being the disco queen who saved 2020, she is living a seriously wholesome life with her 'love' Anwar. But by the time the leaves began to change, so did their love for each other. 12Additional ways to interact with one’s feed were added in 2018, but were not available when I began working on Yarns. Having done so, I found that at the moment I was working on a particular component’s code, the rest of the system was presented as an infrastructure operating invisibly in the background (Star 1999). Thus, where it was still possible to access other parts of the system, modular architecture constituted a technical tie (Damarin 2013) that shaped my work practice. Further, working through bugs between clients and servers required coordination and agreement among developers. Thus while anyone can edit IndieWeb’s wiki, in practice this is limited to people who have a personal website and have configured it to support this feature, which demonstrates at least some agreement with IndieWeb’s approach.
Have fun-specify that these values are defined by individuals controlling what data they put online. This chapter describes the structure of IndieWeb’s online community by reporting results from analyzing archives of logged data. 22JSON is a common data format for representing complex data objects as a string of text, which makes them easy to transmit and store. 23In JSON a string is a sequence of characters, such as text. It is a qualitative way of describing the sequence of events. I attended a few events that Priscilla held and met a couple of women. נערות ליווי בתל אביב We’ve all heard horror stories about men scamming women on dating sites. On the other hand, coordination across IndieWeb sites requires some degree of conformity. This is illustrated by a long history of efforts to build IndieWeb feed readers with autonomy as a driving value. In brief, designs devoted to privacy are unlikely to emerge from a development style in which individuals build whatever solution works for them and then figure out consensus after the fact. Second, the client/server division of this spec increases the feasibility for individuals to build their own reader software, or at least part of it. 10, respectively), with interoperability to be figured out after individuals have been free to develop a variety of approaches.
The latter section of the chapter has recounted a personal narrative of building for the IndieWeb, highlighting how interoperability with other IndieWeb projects, standards, and collaborating with community members shaped my processes of building. 5Webmentions are an IndieWeb protocol for exchanging messages between sites. The friendly chat rooms are open so that you can discuss whatever topics you feel like. 5. You don’t have to browse and chat with hundreds of people to find someone for you. The following discussion will show why this is so, treating in some detail the analytic and geologic problems that have to be overcome if precise ages are to be determined. So, in case you need a reminder of what brings us here, buckle up and let’s go back to the start. You need a site that can provide private posts with that protocol, which is one or two pieces of software. One of the reasons private posts have been such a challenge is that they require a level of coordination that is difficult to achieve with an individual and iterative development style. I also have a better relationship with myself than I’ve ever had before. Zavala, who lives in Washington, D.C., notes that the bots have gotten better over time.
I have identified how overarching commitments to autonomy and self-empowerment are articulated in IndieWeb’s principles for building, and discussed how technical standards and IndieWeb’s building block approach act as technical ties through which individuals’ activities are structured to contribute to IndieWeb’s broader infrastructure. To accomplish this, IndieWeb’s approach generally prefers simple, modular standards based on observed practice, only resorting to top-down standards where previous efforts have been unsuccessful. Is it just me or is it weird to imply that a potential future relationship should have a hierarchical power dynamic? By reflecting on my own processes of building IndieWeb software, I have identified limits of individual autonomy and plurality, which has highlighted that even in individually-focused acts of building IndieWeb software, communal values and structures are profoundly important. Nonetheless there is evidence that projects on GitHub are generally carried out by individuals, indicating that processes of building IndieWeb software are largely decentralized across an assortment of personal projects. Those questions will be addressed in Chapter 5, which presents a structural overview of the community through its logged discussions and GitHub activity, and in Chapter 6, which investigates factors contributing to influence and exclusion.

I was curious what advice would you give to someone new to writing fics? I've been wanting to get back into it but haven't seriously written something since high school. I hope this isn't an annoying question or anything!
Not an annoying question at all! I'm just a little worried that I won't have terribly good or useful advice. To be honest, I also sort of stopped writing in earnest right as I finished high school, and didn't pick it back up until my late 20s. It's certainly an adjustment! But I think the few things that really helped me get back into writing fic as a hobby and something I spend quite a bit of time on would be:
Write for yourself first, then find your other motivations. My original inspiration in getting back into fic writing was that there just were not that many fics I liked for my favorite pairing, and I wanted more of them, and I especially wanted more with the tropes and characterizations I wanted to see. I think at the very core of anything you need that internal spark that drives you. At the same time, for me at least, if I just relied on my own drive, I would not get much done; I need some external guardrails. So having people send prompts, or writing for particular events, or writing stuff for friends really helps me to get my ass in gear and finish stuff. That may not be the perfect motivator for you, and that's fine! You just gotta figure out what is.
Be open to inspiration. Anything and everything can be spun out into a story with the right tweaking. Obviously stuff like music is a classic inspiration source, but I've also pulled ideas from poetry, from memes, from Reddit threads, from YouTube videos, from rambling conversations on Discord and from real life to make fics out of. So many times, someone will post a silly Twitter screencap, and I'll think, There's a fic in this. And a lot of the time, there is! Research is a wonderful thing, but so is serendipity. If you're out there actively looking for ideas, eventually one that you like will stumble past you.
Find your community. I can genuinely say I never would have finished more than one fic if I didn't have fandom friends to talk to about even stupid headcanons, to bounce ideas off of, and to encourage me (and to encourage them in turn!). Discord has been a godsend, and some of my closest online friends are people I met in the GaaLee discord server. As I've gotten more comfortable as a writer, I've also joined general writing servers and Reddit communities and have found them immensely helpful on both a motivational level (bingos, sprints, owe-me challenges) and on a craft level (plot workshopping and writing ethics and live grammar help). It's a lot easier to think about fic ideas and hash through problem moments when I have a constant stream of fandom-related chatter coming from the little people who live in my phone! Ao3 is an amazing website, and it's great as, well, an archive, but it isn't social media by design. If you want conversation and human connection and cheerleading, you've gotta forge out and find it.
Make it a habit ... If you want to produce anything longer than a couple hundred words, you really have to set aside time for it. And writing is just like knitting or dirt biking or painting little model figurines: the more you do it, the more easily it comes. When I was first getting back into the proper swing of things, I committed myself to 30 minutes of writing per week. Just 30 minutes. I didn't even hit that goal every week, but there were tons of weeks I got on a roll and went over that amount, and by the end of the year I'd written over 200,000 words. I used to spend an hour laboriously tip-tapping out 200 words, but now I can easily blow through 1k in a 50 minute sprint. It's all about training that muscle.
... But don't make it a chore. With fanfic, you aren't doing this as a job, and you aren't ultimately doing it for anyone other than you. That means you can take breaks when you need them, you can set deadlines and then fail to meet them, you can write stuff and then decide to never post it. When you start getting burnt out, when the practice loses the joy and energy, stop. There's no 'hustle' here. In our capitalist society we're so trained to push past our limits and keep going even when it hurts us, but the hobby you do for connection and relaxation and whatever else shouldn't be like that.
Ignore metrics. Sometimes stuff isn't gonna get hits, or kudos, or comments. There are some basic 'rules' as to the stuff that does and doesn't get traction, but every time you post something it's a roll of the dice. If you're focused on watching that kudos counter tick up, you will get bummed out fast. And any writer will tell you that the stuff you think is your best work will never be the stuff that gets the most accolades. So you have to find something else to give you a sense of success. For me, it's watching my wordcount go up in my stats and those occasional comments where someone has a lot to say and that one person who always leaves me a <3 emoji (and, shout out to @egregiousderp, having someone to have long one-on-one conversations with about the stuff that never made it to page).
Don't strive for perfection. It's really easy to want your first ever fic to be a complete showstopper, the best fic fandom has ever seen, hitting all the tropes and the ideas and the characterization that you just know fandom is missing and would be everyone's top favorite if only it was written. This is a trap. No one fic can be all things. Most people who want to write an epic as their very first venture will not see the end of that epic, because they haven't put in the practice hours to make something on that scale work. That's not to say you can't start out with a big, sprawling multichap, just don't expect it to be the greatest thing since sliced bread if you're just starting out, and be okay with abandoning it for greener pastures if you get to that point. Think of the first time someone makes a vase out of clay or bakes a loaf of bread. That's never their best vase or their best bread. If they keep up with it, they'll make more and better vases and loaves. Likewise, your first fic is probably not gonna be your best fic. See it for what it is: your launchpad.
You can't edit an empty page, but you can over-edit a full one. This kind of spins off of #7, but if the words aren't there, you can't fix them. Daydreams and headcanons are fantastic (and god, how many times have I wished for a speech-to-text engine that projected my falling asleep thoughts onto a Google doc for later perusal), but they aren't fic. If you want to write fic, you've gotta get comfortable with the idea of sloppy outlines and rough first drafts. You can't build a house without a frame and you can't build a man without a skeleton (I mean, you can, I guess, but he'd be one floppy man). The nice thing about fic is that it doesn't matter if that frame is structurally unsound or the skeleton has 18 too many bones, you can clean that up in the editing process. But you can't start hanging curtains and arranging furniture in something that doesn't even have walls. That's the process. But! Also know when to set down the editor's pen and say, "Okay, this is good enough for government work", and call it done. ("Done" doesn't have to mean "posted", but it does mean, "I'm done picking at this for now, and I'm gonna go write some more stuff".) Over-editing can make stuff seem laborious and forced, and it prevents you from actually improving. To continue belaboring the house metaphor, you can spend your whole life rearranging furniture in just one room, but the end result of that is a pretty narrow existence and a room with a lot of footprints and tracks in the carpet.
Write shit down. When you have ideas, jot them down--in a notebook, in a Google Doc, in the Notes app of your phone, in pen on the back of your hand. You think you will remember that brilliant line of dialogue or sparkling snippet of narration or genius plot that came to you in a dream, but you Will Not. Write it down. Write it down. Write it down! There have been so many times when a fic was completely saved by past!me having written down my shower thoughts about what happens next in the fic, that present!me had completely forgotten about and was floundering over.
Have fun with it! Try different stuff. Try stupid stuff. Try experimental stuff. Do stuff you've never done before that you aren't sure will work. It's important to get comfortable with your niche (for example, I know I'm never going to be the sort of person who writes intricate plots of intrigue or super long 100k epics or detailed battles), but you can't find that niche unless you explore lots of different niches! Figure out what you love and what you absolutely hate, and then keep doing the stuff you love.
Okay, so that was actually TEN things, but ... I hope you still found this helpful. Feel free to send another ask if any of this was confusing or unclear. Good luck with your fic writing and, if you want, send me a link to what you've written once you've written it! I'd love to read it.

CAREER TURN?
(The theme of this post is Red, in honour of T Swift's re-release of her iconic album.)
On Saturdays we do arts and crafts. And take erotic photos.
Let me explain.
Two weeks ago Rosie and I spent the Saturday afternoon painting cardboard in white and tic-tacs into glow-in-the-dark-green. We take production design seriously.
Tumblr media
Later on, our Cyborg actress Kirsty came for a costume fitting and some additional footage. Since the whole backstory to Iskra's memory wipe is spiking in the night club, we shot a flashback scene with them dancing. So we rolled out the bedsheet. (No seriosly, we didn't have anything else to use as a backdrop so we stretched my sheet across the wardrobe - no budget filmmaking 101.)
Tumblr media
We toyed around with the idea of more masculine dance moves and more feminine hip action to play into the androgyny of our main character. When suggesting a drug stab we swapped sides continuously - first left, then right, then left again. All to further enhance the disorientation when we stack them one on top of each other. And then sparkler's was ready for her close-up. And before you ask, no, the fire alarm did not go off.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And with that, Rosie and Kirsty went home and I kept the bedsheet setup for my next model.
Tumblr media
My flatmate Cecilia (our master shot drug dealer) was thrilled to make a comeback as an advertisement for the space brothel. With some tinfoil, an arsenal of reflective fabrics, round mirrors and long exposure we made her an alien sex worker.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
On Sundays we edit photos. When I woke up Cecilia already had a breakthrough. She went through her archive and found some photos from the aquarium that provided a wicked overlay. In the gay community (and under-developed Eastern European countries) really feminine women are referred to as fish. Naturally, in the near future this is what brothels will offer.
Tumblr media
So here is how it's going to work. The cardboard we painted will be hanging above the staircase during the shoot and then in post, we'll chroma key the images on it. Initially we thought we'd just create a few green screens but then Rosie's dad advised us to make white panels as we'd never be able to properly light the green screen with the limited equipment we had. That's how we make our neon signs.
Tumblr media
In case you can't already tell, I got pretty into this stuff. Scratch the avant-garde, next stop - porn industry!

Bo Katan Week Day 5/ Satine Lives AU
Title: How Do You Pick Up the Threads of an Old Life?
Rating: Teen And Up Audiences Relationships: Bo-Katan Kryze & Satine Kryze Summary: Post-Lawless, but Satine lives. Bo-Katan and Obi-Wan were able to save Satine, and with the Republic’s help Satine was once again ruler of Mandalore. Everything should be happy and back to normal, right? After being apart for almost twenty years, two sisters, once on opposite sides of the same conflict, have to learn how to work together again.
Author’s Note: Day 5 of Bo-Katan Week! I am having so much fun this week and am so enjoying writing, editing, and also reading and seeing other’s work! So this is part of a novel length AU fic I’m working on, so I took a snapshot to post for this week. I would recommend reading ‘End of One Era, Beginning of Another’ first as there are some references, but it’s not necessarily mandatory. Credit for the chapter title to Lord of the Rings: Return of the King.

Satine sat in her sitting room, her head in her hands. After helping retake Mandalore from Maul’s Death Watch, Obi-Wan and the rest of the Republic troops had left that afternoon. She had just barely kept herself from asking him to stay, instead just hugging him then letting him walk out of her life once again. She’d just have to worry about him being a General in the Grand Army of the Republic alone.
Her door whooshed open and armored boots came into view.
“Orange tea still your favorite?” Bo-Katan’s voice asked, reaching out a steaming cup. Satine stared at it for a moment before sitting up and reaching for it.
“Most days,” she responded, taking a sip before looking back up at Bo. She sighed resignedly. “Bo we’re going to need to have a talk.” Bo sank into the chair next to her.
“I figured.”
Satine watched her as she stared into the fireplace. Suddenly, looking at her there, she looked so young. The big sister in her wanted to reach out and shield her, tell her everything was going to be ok. But in reality, she didn’t know if that was true. Mandalore, Satine, Bo-Katan, her commandos, they had a long road ahead of them. Yes Bo-Katan and her fighters had come in at a clutch moment, rescuing both Satine and Obi-Wan before Maul could get them in his grasp, but that didn’t negate all the rest they had done prior to Maul’s takeover.
“Tomorrow?” Satine asked. Bo looked over at her, then back to the fire, nodding.
“Tomorrow.”
Satine finished her tea and they sat in silence, the only sound the popping of the fire.
“I have something for you,” Satine said and got up to move to her desk. Bo followed her with her eyes while she opened up one of the locked drawers and removed a small wooden box. Returning, she handed it to Bo. Bo gingerly accepted it, her eyes wary, and opened the lid to look inside. The wary look quickly changed to surprise as she lifted the beskar leaf brooch out.
“How?” she asked, turning the leaf over and running her finger along the edge.
“Fenn Rau. After...he thought I’d want it. To have something of yours.”
“You kept it? All these years? Even after…?” she trailed off.
“You were, are, my sister Bo. I love you, and I wanted to be able to remember our good days.”
Bo stared at the box, then handed it back to Satine.
“Keep it. As a promise from me. That that Bo-Katan is not dead.”
Satine took the box back and the two of them just stared at each other until there was a knock on the door and it slid open. One of her aides walked in with a tray of food.
“I knew you hadn’t eaten so…” she paused, glimpsing Bo-Katan.
“Thank you, Leanna,” Satine said, standing to accept the food. Leanna looked from her to Bo.
“I can…”
“It’s fine, I was leaving anyways,” Bo said, standing, but Satine reached forward and grasped her arm, releasing her when she flinched.
“Please stay. Leanna if you wouldn’t mind?”
“Of course not,” she said and bustled out of the room. She returned a few minutes later with another tray and Bo sighed as she took it and sat beside Satine. They ate in silence until Satine stifled a laugh.
“What’s so funny?” Bo asked, looking up from her tray.
“You still eat like an anooba,” she answered, smiling behind her hand. Bo’s eyebrows pinched together, wrinkling her brow.
“Yeah, well, no real eating etiquette in Death Watch.”
“I would say no fashion sense either, but your hair is quite fashionable.”
“It’s utilitarian. Keeps it out of my face.”
“Hmmm,” Satine hummed, amusement filling her voice. “Keep telling yourself that ner vod.”
“Your hairpieces are the worst.”
Satine made a face.
“I must agree.”
“Then why do you wear them?!”
“Because it’s expected.”
Bo shook her head, shoveling more food into her mouth.
“Yeah, you can keep that whole Duchess title thing,” she said after she swallowed. “I’m good.”
Bo walked into Satine’s office the next day. Despite the sense of normalcy they’d had the night before, tension was in the air once again.
“Please, sit,” Satine said, gesturing to the chair across her desk. Bo took a seat but perched on the edge, staring at her sister. “I meant what I said when I told the populace we’d be reevaluating the protection of Mandalore. But Bo-Katan, I can’t just forget everything that happened.”
“I don’t need you to tell me I’ve made mistakes. I’m quite aware of them. But the people are right. Mandalore needs to be able to protect itself. Me. My people. We’re loyal to Mandalore.”
“But are you loyal to me? I don’t want to have to worry about an insurrection every few months.”
“Satine, I meant what I said last night. The Bo-Katan you grew up with, she’s not wholly dead. But our people are warriors. It’s in our blood. Mine and even yours. It’s been a while, but I know you have some fire too.”
“But I won’t let it…”
“Destroy Mandalore, I know.” She looked down at her hands. “I, and most of those who follow me, want to see Mandalore prosper. Thrive. If you do right by our people, we will stand by you.”
“I need to know if I can trust you.”
Bo felt a stab of hurt, but also shame, in her gut.
“I will stand by you, ner vod. I still do not quite understand you, but I do understand that you are trying to do right by our people. And I meant what I said to that Chancellor. I have no interest in ruling.”
“And your people? Do you trust them?”
Bo thought of her commandos. Those who’d followed her.  She’d lost a fair amount of her Nite Owls to Maul’s allegiance, but many still remained. And a good many ex-Death Watch remained with her as well. She knew a passable amount of them personally and many more through their superiors.
“Ursa, who was my second in command of the Nite Owls, I trust unconditionally,” Bo responded. “A few others I trust as well. We are going to need to go through the remaining and confirm their loyalty. It will take some time.”
Satine nodded her head.
“Take all the time you need. And a new name. You’ll need a new name.”
A few days passed and Bo was sitting in her office using a stylus to write up reports on one of her datapads. There had been an incident already between a few of her commandos when Bo had declared that they were going to continue to stay under Satine’s rule and were not going to overthrow her government. Luckily no one was seriously hurt, but she did have a few commandos in the medcenter and also a few now in the brig. She knew this was just the tip of the iceberg and it was going to be a long process of weeding through her commandos.
She felt a stab of guilt at the thought and paused in writing the commandos names she had locked up. She would have to do something about those who refused to bow to Satine’s rule, even though they had been loyal to Bo. Loyal to Death Watch and Mandalore. They had stayed with her and hadn’t hesitated to fight bravely against Maul and their brothers and sisters who’d thrown their lot in with him. And now she was asking them to throw their lot in with a government Death Watch had sworn to overthrow from Day 1? She was sure there had been grumblings when she’d made the decision to break Satine out of prison and to use her to get Mandalore back. And her commandos had trusted her then. Trusted that she knew what she was doing. But using Satine to take back their planet from a Sith and permanently allying themselves to her were two different things. Granted yes, it was the right thing to do; she’d rationalized that and understood that. Mandalore couldn’t keep on the trajectory that Death Watch had stood for. It would only lead to ruin and destruction, and her people deserved more. She hoped to be able to convey this and help her commandos understand. Her people respected her, she knew that. They wouldn’t have followed her if they hadn’t. But she had never quite made herself approachable. She’d have to do that over the next few weeks to hopefully allow those who had reservations to approach her and talk about it instead of dealing with it with blasters. How much the ex-Death Watch members would actually be willing to talk instead of fighting is another question, but she wanted to give her people as much of a shot as possible.
She continued on writing up her report when there was a knock on her door. She startled and dropped the stylus to reach for her blaster, but calmed herself. From what she knew and remembered of the palace, this was a small office. But to Bo, it felt lavish and gaudy. Sure Vizsla had been governor of Concordia and she had become familiar with his large office, but she herself had never had an office, despite being Lieutenant and leader of the Night Owls. This probably had a lot to do with Death Watch being offplanet and in one system or another for most of the time she had been Lieutenant. When they had still been on Concordia she’d used Vizsla's office in the mines when she’d needed it. But that office was spartan. A table with a few chairs. This office was bringing back memories of her childhood and was more richly decorated than even the Concordian governor’s office. The chairs were thickly padded with some type of leather and the desk was large and metallic with multiple holoscreens she could pull up and all the drawers she would ever need. If she closed her eyes, she could hear the flowing water in the gardens outside and could smell the leather, and in a way she could pretend she was nine years old and watching her Buir work, her small legs swinging while Satine, with her long blonde hair done up in a braid, sat beside her, discussing one thing or another about Sundari and governance.
The knock on her door sounded again and she released her blaster to reach for her stylus again and continued writing.
“Come in,” she called, and the door hissed open. She looked up and quirked an eyebrow in surprise. “Sati... your grace. This is a surprise.” Satine waved a hand at her and walked forward to grasp the back of one of the chairs.
“Please, Bo-Katan, you are still my sister. You’re allowed to call me Satine.” Bo closely watched her sister, and she noticed she seemed nervous. Some tells remained, despite how many years had passed. She glanced down at Bo’s hands and the stylus she was still holding. “You write your notes out with a stylus?” she asked, curiosity filling her voice. Bo glanced down at her own hands and with Satine standing in front of her she couldn’t help the memories that flooded her. Of all those nights those first few months with Death Watch. The flimsies and charcoal she’d stolen and all the letters she’d written to Satine. Of how she’d planned to find a way to send them to her sister. And how her big sister would swoop in and save her from these people. Those days were long gone, but even after, she’d preferred writing over typing or dictating. It gave her a sense of calm.
Gods she needed to stop this sentimental crap.
“Old habit I suppose.”
Satine nodded, her hands gripping the chair tightly.
“I’ve come to see if you would like to take dinner with me tonight.” Bo shifted uncomfortably and Satine quickly spoke again. “It would just be me, I promise. No advisors, no dignitaries.”
Bo twiddled with the stylus in her hand, flitting it between each of her fingers, and stared at the woman in front of her. She was dressed formally, her hair done up with lilies woven in it. She paused, looking at the lilies. She’d forgotten how much Satine had loved lilies. She almost always had a bowl in her room, until they’d had to flee to Concordia. The compound had always felt very sterile. Dinner, did she want to do dinner? Sure, she’d spent some time alone with her sister the past few days, but those times were few and far between. And looking at her now she felt like she was agreeing to have dinner with the Duchess, not her sister. The face looking at her was the face she’d learned to hate for so long.
But she needed to try. She’d loved her sister once. And if she was really honest with herself she’d missed her. She could try.
“Yes, I could do that,” she responded, clearing her throat, and she watched Satine relax. “What time?”
“In two hours if that works for you?”
Bo glanced at the chronometer on her desk.
“Yes, that should work. In your private rooms?” Satine nodded, a smile slipping over her face.
“Yes. Thank you, Bo. I’ll see you then.”
Bo gave up doing any work after thirty minutes of staring at her datapads and trying to write. She was able to finish up her report and then returned to her rooms, deciding to take a quick shower and wash her hair. Her rooms were close to the Protector barracks and though close to the royal wing, were not in it. There had been some discussion, very brief, about whether she should move into the royal wing, but objections both from Bo and the Protectors had silenced that debate quite quickly. The bedroom and sitting room were average sized and sparse, but they fit Bo fine.
After drying her hair, Bo stared at her wardrobe, or rather lack of it. She had been able to snag an extra flightsuit, and had a loose tunic and pants that she slept in. Flightsuit and armor would have to do.
Walking to Satine’s rooms, many of the people in the hallway gave her a wide berth, dropping their eyes and hurrying past, but Bo kept her head up and paid them no mind. The Protectors stationed in the royal wing and outside Satine’s doors glared at her but let her pass, and faster than Bo would have liked she was knocking on the door to the royal private dining room and was being told to enter.
Satine, to her surprise, was dressed casually in a simple dress and her hair was loose around her shoulders. The table was set simply, two place settings at the end of the table across from each other. Perfect distance for casual conversation without them being right on top of each other. Satine already had a glass of wine in her hand and she gestured for Bo to take the place setting across from her where there were two empty wine glasses.
“White or red?” she asked, placing her wine glass down.
“Um, red,” Bo answered, feeling out of her depth as she took a seat and Satine poured some of the red wine into her red wine glass. Bo ran her fingers through her hair and stared at the place setting. Of course there was a white and a red wine glass, and why were there so many forks?
“I tried to get them to allow me to set the table myself,” Satine said, and Bo looked up and met her eyes, “but you know how protocol is. You can use whatever fork you like.” Bo felt a small smile slip over her face. “I remember how much you disliked etiquette lessons.”
“That’s a nice way of putting it. I think our Governess would have strangled me if she could have.”
“Her screeching does still ring in my ears.”
Bo felt herself relax a little and reached for her wine and downed a little more than was proper. She’d had dinner with Satine before, just the other night in Satine’s office, so she didn't know why she was so nervous. She stared down at her place setting again.
“Which fork do I use first again? The outside and work my way in?”
Satine actually chuckled.
“See, you learned some things.”
“Do you remember that one time I showed up for my lessons covered in mud?” Satine smirked, setting her glass down.
“I don’t think her face could have gotten any redder. I had never seen her so angry. You know, I never asked. Where did you get so covered in mud?”
“Mom’s rose garden.” Satine actually laughed at that and Bo cracked a smile. “J’onn said that trickster nymphs grew at their roots, and that is why they had thorns but also had such beautiful flowers. I told him he was a liar, and uprooted one of mom’s bushes to prove it. They’d just been watered, so uprooting and then replanting it left me less than clean.” At that point Satine was laughing so hard she was crying and Bo was chuckling.
“I can see why you never offered up that information before,” Satine said, wiping some tears from her eyes and getting herself under control. Their mom loved her roses and protected them quite fiercely. “You were quite the wild child Bo.”
“Someone had to keep Mom and Buir on their toes. They’d become quite complacent with you.”
Bo felt herself relaxing even more as one of the chefs placed a salad on the plate in front of her. This felt...normal. Familiar. Before their parents had died, Bo had never failed to get Satine to crack a smile. That look that Satine had given her when she’d seen her that day in the marketplace ten years after she’d disappeared, when Bo’d just about said she hated her, had haunted her for years, despite lying to herself that it hadn’t. She knew Death Watch, Vizsla, would have hailed her a hero if she’d been able to kill Satine then. But she couldn’t do it. Couldn’t pull the trigger. The lies Death Watch and she herself told herself each day had kept her from breaking down at seeing her sister again, but she couldn’t kill her. And now here she was, making her laugh again. Eating dinner with her again like nothing had happened.
The silence was comfortable as they ate, and when their main meal finally came they moved on to discussing plans at the docks and how they were dealing with food shipments in from the Republic. Once their mostly empty plates were taken away, Bo leaned up against her chair back, her wine glass in hand as she swirled the red liquid around. The alcohol had loosened some of her inhibitions and she actually relaxed her spine to slouch, though she did have to shift so that her armor didn’t dig into her hips.
Satine was the one to finally break the silence.
“I know you probably don’t want to talk about it, but I have to know. What happened, at the compound all those years ago and…after.”
Bo stared at the swirling liquid in her glass before she set it back down on the table and pushed it away.
“You don’t want to know Satine.”
“I do. Please. I need to know.”
She felt Satine’s eyes on her and stood up and began pacing the room and running her hands through her hair. She finally came to a stop, her hands on the back of her chair.
“Carlson and I were about halfway to the hangar when I remembered Buir’s beskar’gam. He wouldn’t let me go, so I kicked him and ran. I couldn’t leave it for them to take. It was ours. Our family’s.” She paused. “Did...did Carlson make it?” she asked, and Satine shook her head sadly. Bo dropped her eyes and went on. “By the time I’d made it back to the right side of the compound, there were attackers between me and the hangar. So I headed for the garden. After the compound exploded, Vizsla found me. He said you’d left me, and he took me back to his camp. I was so angry. They kept me under guard at all times, forced me to eat, drink. I was constantly plotting on how to escape, get revenge.  But then I started meeting other foundlings they’d taken in. All of us had been left behind or had our families killed. And then they brought me to the range and tested my shooting skills. The praise I got, it,” she paused, a nostalgic though melancholic smile on her face, “I finally felt nu'amyc. They taught me how to fight, how to defend myself, and eventually I stopped fighting back. Death Watch gave me a sense of belonging. There was finally this stability in the world of chaos we’d been living in for so long. They became my family. A very violent and often angry family, but a family nonetheless. And you remember me back then, I was relentless when I put my mind to something, and I was determined now that I was given the chance to be the best warrior I could be. I quickly moved up the ranks and they used my knowledge of the inner government workings on Sundari to help recruit people.”
“That’s what you were doing, that day at the Marketplace, weren’t you?” Satine interjected softly and Bo nodded, seeing the look that Satine had given her that day again in her mind’s eye.
“I was recruiting Senator Merrik.”
Bo didn’t miss the grief in Satine’s eyes so she dropped her head again. “I eventually started my own unit, the Nite Owls. We were so efficient that I eventually made my way to Lieutenant. I didn’t realize until it was too late, but my safety and security and my quick rise to the top came with a cost. I sacrificed a lot of myself to become the person I was.”
“No one could blame you for assimilating,” Satine said, but Bo shook her head.
“Mom and Buir raised us better than that. I just wanted to belong.”
She felt Satine’s eyes on her and glanced at her to see her looking intensely at her armor.
“So your beskar, that’s...?”
“Buir’s. They reforged it for me.”
“At least it’s still in the family,” Satine said sadly, but Bo didn’t respond.

Can’t everyone use tumblr how they want?
YES!
This site is exactly what people make of it for themselves. That was the exact point of that post. The fact that people reacted negatively to it at all proves my point. Seriously.
I have a number of other anons that are clearly from people who don't actually follow me, and are only here in a reactionary fashion having seen it on someone else's reblog, or else heard about it in passing and decided the best reaction to an ultimately harmless and rather bumbling post was to take personal offense and bring anonymous hate to a stranger on the internet. (and at least one not-anonymous "go kill yourself" type comment on the post itself)
THAT was the point of making that post.
For people who might be new to this fandom or new to tumblr in general (or even for people who have been here for years), your experience here is exactly what you make of it. I haven't seen that sort of vitriolic kneejerk reaction to anything I've written or posted in years. That post touched nerves. So it was a bit of an experiment, and I'm sorry to everyone who experienced any of that negativity second-hand. NOBODY should be made to feel like shit when engaging with something that is supposed to be fun. But I've learned over the years that that's exactly what some people consider fun.
There are new people to this fandom since the absolute free for all of the weeks after November 5th. We all reveled in those weeks before the show collapsed in on itself two weeks later. It was like 15 years worth of Hiatus Blogging followed by... well... some of the worst genuine hurt and disillusionment I've ever experienced or witnessed inflicted on a fandom by a piece of media.
There have to be at least a few people who floated into this fandom during that emotional roller coaster who want to make sense of it all, who were at least curious enough about how a show could've brought the characters to that emotional moment in 15.18 before effectively ignoring it all and burning the entire 15 year narrative to nothing just two episodes later.
Some folks stuck around to dig through the ashes of fandom in search of carrion, and that's fine. Some have zero desire to ever engage with the show or the fandom beyond mocking it for ever having existed at all, and that is also fine! But some folks? They might be wondering why anyone ever saw anything in this narrative to begin with, and they might be interested in knowing that there is this vast collection of information available to them (funny that none of my self-righteous anons even mentioned those, outside of one pointing out that my phrasing introducing that section of links was easily interpreted as condescending... which... yeah... again that was the point, and no I will not edit that language. none of us are free from sin).
Tumblr hasn't "changed." It was always this way. This site is not a monolith. Fandom is not a monolith. Even smaller groups within fandom aren't monoliths. Things that are considered "tumblr standard etiquette" do not exist across this entire website. And even within the supernatural fandom, and even within the tumblr-destiel-portion of the fandom there aren't "rules" dictating how you interact with anyone. Well, the one specific rule we should all be able to agree on is that you don't bring hate to real actual human beings, and yet...
There has ALWAYS been the option to engage with fandom here on whatever level an individual chooses. And that hasn't really changed since the finale aired. Anyone who thinks that Tumblr or the fandom has "evolved" or "changed" has likely just fallen in with a different fandom bubble then they'd existed within before. None of the bubbles have actually popped or disappeared. But which one you experience is entirely your own choice. You curate your experience here.
That was the point, illustrated by the vast array of comments I actually got on that post, structured with a little bit of everything including "tumblr mom from 2014." Everything pisses some people off, you know? Even the perception that some stranger on the internet might dare to lay down an arbitrary "rule" that zero people actually have to follow. See what I mean?
Because if any of the people who kneejerked at it actually followed me, or knew me at all, they wouldn't have kneejerked. They would've seen the point.
So your experience is what you make of it here. There are resources for people actually interested in engaging with the narrative or the fandom or the history of it. People mock "tumblr moms" or "fandom moms" all the time, but there wouldn't ~be~ a fandom without the people who actually build those resources. I.e. adults with the time, money, and personal investment in actually sustaining the fandom, instead of running around with torches trying to burn it down at every new whiff of perceived ~drama~ to latch on to.
For example, all of the scripts we've been acquiring and sharing with the entire fandom free of charge. I know that the fandom bubbles who seize on those scripts like hungry vultures to cough back up out of context "gotcha" posts postulating whatever theory of the differences between script and screen will dredge up the most drama or outrage in their fandom bubble... they haven't even considered how those scripts were acquired and made available to them. To them, they are "leaks." They are gifts that fell out of the sky and landed in their laps. There isn't even the barest curiosity about their origins or relevance beyond whatever social nourishment they derive by making up stuff and spouting it out with unearned authority. It's sad. But if that's how they enjoy the fandom, it's nice to remind them that none of the fandom they cannibalize would exist without the rest of us, too.
Yes, even the people you disagree with. Even the people who ship the things you find disgusting or repulsive. Even people who have an entirely different experience to your own. Even the people who are only here for those gotcha posts.
Fandom is not by nature a nihilistic shitshow, or no fandom would survive the amount of drama the 1% try to bring to it. Here have a fanlore article about this phenomenon. Right now, in Supernatural fandom, it feels like more than 1%, but I promise it really is only 1%. They're just really loud. There's actually other avenues to participatory fandom available to anyone who chooses to find them. Parts of this vast fandom that aren't focused on that 1% of reactionary leg-chewing at every turn. None of them are (as the linked article confirms) truly 100% free of unnecessary drama or bad behavior (including ME, I mean I MADE THAT POST!), but on tumblr you can curate your own experience. Fandom actually can be fun without burning down the thing you claim to be a fan of, or attacking other real human people for having the audacity to exist on the internet in a way you might believe is out of touch or pathetic. Seriously, nobody deserves to experience that from anyone over a fucking television show. Like seriously, take a step back and examine your life and your choices at that point.
Tumblr was exactly the same as a fandom community when I joined as it is now. Throughout my entire time here, I've curated my own personal experience to exactly what I derive the most personal satisfaction from. During that time I have had numerous friends and mutuals lament that their personal experience had become so toxic, but they were afraid to trim those blogs from their dash for fear of having no content left to engage with at all. For years there have been follow lists and blog recs and people desperate to find a more "peaceful and fun" fandom experience. People grow exhausted and embittered when their entire experience of fandom is an emotionally draining drama train. It's like pandemic doom scrolling, but for the thing that should be a respite from that sort of mindset, something that's supposed to be entertainment. The show did enough to us all, we don't have to turn around and re-inflict it on each other day in and day out on tumblr dot com.
So if even one person saw my post and thought well shit maybe I actually want to engage with a wider swath of fandom and see what's there, after seven months of post-finale drama, this whole other region of fandom is still here, still being the curators of the archives, the creators of stories and art and meta and gifs and videos and actually caring about it all that will keep this fandom going long after the current round of exhausting drama inevitably plays itself out.
The amount of in-group language in the negative replies I got was unsurprising. It's like folks are living in an alternate universe that doesn't mesh at all with what I experience on this exact same hellsite. Almost like we exist in entirely different bubbles of fandom, with entirely different purposes for existing at all. Everyone on this hellsite gets to pick which bubble (or bubbles) to take up residence in. Some people simply forget that their personal bubble isn't the universal defining experience of this site. Unfortunately, I doubt my little disruption to their bubbles will actually make any of them see that, but you anon... I think you did.
You are highly encouraged to engage with fandom EXACTLY THE WAY YOU CHOOSE. You have the ultimate power in controlling your entire experience here. Tumblr and Supernatural Fandom on tumblr is not Just One Thing that everyone who wants to participate in must conform to one specific code of ethics or behavior to be part of. And that NOBODY has the right to tell anyone else they're doing it wrong (including ME! I am 100% including myself in this!).
It's not MY job to dictate how anyone else experiences this fandom, as much as it was not the job of the people who reblogged my post (which I did not personally shove into their eyeballs with a demand for compliance... how did any of those people even *find* my post?) solely to tell me how *I* need to change how I experience the fandom, you see? Don'tcha love hypocrisy!
But the point was made for those who care, and a lot of people got to update their block lists (I still don't block anyone, as I said I curated my fandom space here and generally don't follow folks that don't personally make me happy and enrich my life by engaging with their content. However other people choose to engage with *my* content (any of it, going back nearly 50k posts over the last decade) is their business entirely. Sometimes I just feel the need to draw out people who are all too eager to expose their own whole asses in public. Mission accomplished.

Russian TFP AU: Classic Russian Sci-Fi Film Inspiration
Alright, so I’ve been pretty busy lately, and I’m gonna still be busy for the next few months probably, but I’m still working on the Russian TFP AU!
You can see my latest Russian TFP AU brainstorming posts here and here!
Since I haven’t had a lot of time to talk much about it in a while, I thought I’d make a fun inspiration/research materials post here with my favourite classic Russian sic-fi movies I’ve been watching to fuel my AU brainstorming!
My Top 4 Classic Russian Sci-Fi Films for Inspiration:
1) Planet Bur /  Планета Бурь - Watch Here! (RUS with ENG Subtitles)
Tumblr media
No Spoiler Summary: A space crew head to Venus in three separate ships, forming a flotilla; One craft is stricken by a meteorite and destroyed, while the others choose to continue the mission. When they land, they discover an eerie surface world full of hidden threats. Working to complete their mission, they discover something they hadn’t been looking for...
This movie is a slow burn, which I usually struggle with due to my ADHD, but let me tell you-- Give this movie a chance. It’s absolutely worth it.
The costume design is incredible, the practical effects and cinematography are excellent as with most Russian classic films, and it’s a beautiful movie.
2) Amphibian Man /  Человек-амфибия - Watch Here! (RUS)
Tumblr media
No Spoiler Summary: A boy is given gills in a medical experiment to save his life; It is successful, but as an adult, he is forced to hide under the water and lives in isolation. He meets a pearl fisherman’s daughter, and the fisherman exploits him for his condition (by being forced to help collect pearls), which he tolerates in exchange for his secret being kept-- And so that he might get the chance to speak with the woman he loves.
First of all, if you saw Shape of Water and liked it, this is the movie for you.
Tumblr media
Second, the anti-capitalist themes here are super relevant at this moment in time, and it is genuinely a beautiful movie-- They filmed a lot of it underwater, which looks incredible!
And if you thirst for mermen, well, here you go. Enjoy!
3) The Orion Loop / Петля Ориона - Watch Here! (RUS)
Tumblr media
No Spoiler Summary: There is a discussion on how best to deal with a potential first contact scenario with an alien civilisation, prior to the crew’s next mission. While some good points are brought up, once they are out in space, they are affected by the radiation that strikes the ship once they are near the edge of the Solar System, and it begins to deteriorate the crew’s mental state. As they struggle to work through the crisis, they begin to see things... Are they ghosts, holograms, or something else?
This is a classic “freak out in space” movie, with some really interesting thoughts about contacting, communicating, and coping with life beyond Earth-- Both human life, and alien life.
4) Cosmic Voyage / Космический рейс - Watch Here! (RUS)
Tumblr media
No Spoiler Summary: A space mission is threatened when one of the crew members is deemed too unstable to continue on the next flight. Disregarding the medical advisory, the crew departs, unwilling to put their expertise to waste. But once they start their voyage, they face some extreme circumstances and struggle to achieve their goals. Will their mission be a success, or
This is a real Art Deco era masterpiece, with some of the best practical effects in the world at the time. Amazing set design, costume design (seriously, please watch this movie), and honestly it’s just a very beautiful, interesting film to watch.
It’s also one of the earliest sci-fi films to depict a no gravity environment-- And when they do, it is mesmerising.
GENERAL NOTE REGARDING VINTAGE FILMS:
These movies, like all media, are products of their time. There may be some dialogue that we would now consider inappropriate, scenes that may impart a different feeling than originally intended, or cultural etc. references that are missing context for modern viewers.
Please proceed with caution when watching any older films; Due to the nature of film archival, re-prints, and so on, it is impossible to provide a 100% fully accurate list of potentially upsetting content or themes for any of these movies, as there are many different edits/versions of these films floating around and some sequences may have been edited out of some or altered in others (for international release or due to variations in film print editions and so on).
My Russian language skills are not very good at the moment, although I am doing my best to improve; Currently, I am unable to personally provide any specific content warnings for Russian language media.
Please also keep in mind that translation errors are always a risk with any film that is not in your native language, and it is often the case that older Russian films are subject to extreme changes in dialogue and sound editing when translated into English (where possible) due to a lot of different circumstances, including the state of international politics at the times these films were released, as well as the innate differences in the languages and difficulties with dubbing/subtitling effectively with the technology and editing practices that were used at that time.
Wherever possible, I suggest watching the original Russian language versions, even if you do not speak Russian, so that you may pick up on the tone and emotion of the original actors on screen. Sometimes, feelings are more clear than words, and it makes a unique viewing experience! :)
END: I hope you enjoy one or more of the above movies; I like to keep these on in the background while writing/drawing, but I have a list of over 50 Russian sci-fi movies that I really love, so it was hard to pick just four to write about before I have to go to work!
Also tagging @milabazal2002 and @everdino, who have been hugely helpful in constructing details for the Russian TFP AU! :)

Last summer, I made a post about Britcom shows that will exist when I rule the British television industry. That post contained the suggestion:
The Boys with Four First Names: Once a week, John Oliver and Russell Howard talk over video chat for an hour. I realize they’re both very busy men, so I’d be happy to have the program be live, rather than taking several hours of their time that get edited down.
The conversations mostly revolve around what’s going on in the world, with an emphasis on comparing the trans-Atlantic perspectives. What does British news look like to Americans, and what does American news look like to Britons? What do British people not realize about what it’s actually like to be in America during [current American news story], and what does the American news get wrong about British stories (on the rare occasions that they cover it)? What are the similarities and differences in the ways both countries cover international news stories? Those are supposed to be the topics of the discussions, but it’s not all that structured and it’s fine for them to go off topic and just talk about their lives and make jokes as well.
I have just finished listening to the first episode The Bugle podcast, and I feel like I owe an apology to someone, at least to Andy Zaltzman, for having written all that and never taken five seconds to Google whether that show actually exists.
There are a few minor differences between the show I requested and The Bugle as it exists. The Bugle is a podcast and has no video, but that is fine. The Bugle is a proper show that people took the time to write beforehand and edit after, when I said I was quite willing to settle for something much less professional than that. And of course, one of the people in my initial vision for the show has been swapped out for another one. The “Boys with Four First Names” title doesn’t really work when one of the names is “Zaltzman”, so I see why they went with “The Bugle” as the title instead.
...Seriously though, The Bugle is pretty well exactly the show I wanted. John Oliver talking to a British comedian about the news through his own perspective as someone who has lives in both Britain and America, comparing how the same issues are discussed in Britain versus America, and giving me a chance to hear from the version of John Oliver that he becomes when he’s not playing primarily to an American audience.
And Andy Zalzman is cool! I feel like I have not spent enough time on this blog writing about how Andy Zalzman is cool. Good News Quiz host. Good wry sardonic wit but like, not in a pretentious way. Good joke about overreach in enforcement of anti-terror legislation that I just heard him do on the first episode of The Bugle, from October 2007, and that he also did on The News Quiz just a few weeks ago. I have not heard him do it at any point in between, and I have heard him on The News Quiz quite a bit, so I guess using one joke twice in fifteen years is fair enough.
I am looking at The Bugle as something I plan to do with my time for the next while, now that I’ve seen almost all the TV shows on my list, and a long-running podcast is a good thing to have as real life starts again. I can keep this Britcom stuff with me, in the form of something I can listen to even when I venture outside these safe four walls of my bedroom.
So I downloaded the first 200-ish episodes of the podcast. It was less convenient than I’d expected to find early episodes, as the podcast distributors don’t have episodes of this podcast that go from the beginning, so I couldn’t just get them all at once. I found an archive of mp3 files of those old episodes; and then I downloaded all of them; moved them to their own folder; and edited all the filenames to have the number in sequence, date of first broadcast, and episode title. And then I figured I may as well have my efforts possibly save someone else some time, so I’ve uploaded that folder to my Google Drive. Here it is, in case anyone else is interested in listening to the first few years of this show. I’m looking forward to it.

The Shyan Shipping Society Writing Challenge ✍️💕
Hello dear shippers!
My name’s Zhalia, a fanfic writer on archive of our own. you might know me from my stripper!Ryan au, or the cinderella au or from the many comments i leave on your amazing works.
Since October, i’ve been hosting very lowkey writing challenges on the Shyan Shipping Society Discord server. and i figured, i’d let good ol’ tumblr get a piece of it!
Tumblr media
this is a fun lil' challenge to practice your writing with random prompts!
(shout out to @helloitsvehere for making the amazing header here and sorry to keep bugging you on it but it looks really amazing now darling <3)
✨RULES✨
✧ the challenge is held at monthly, we don't want to pressure anyone too much and we want to give you enough time to work! on top of that, the minimum amount of words for this challenge is 50, which is a very low bar, it's no school, this is for fun!! also don't worry if you miss a month.
✧ from the day we set the prompt, you have one month to meet the challenge. with this, we request a chapter or a start. if a prompt inspires u to write more than a oneshot or one chapter, feel free to expand as much as you can outside the challenge! everyone is requested to post their submissions on the same day (so say we start at october 1st, then you're only allowed to submit your submissions on october 31st, no sooner). We then hope to announce the new prompt on, for example, november 1st to continue the cycle, but it may differ at times.
✧ There are no specifications to your writing. you may write however you like, a story, a description, a poem, anything is allowed. you're free to write in any rating, be it G or E-rated. we prefer M/E of course, cause we're thirsty like that. if you’re an artist, you’re free to join too! more elaboration in the FAQ below :D.
✧ if you have ideas for prompts, please DM me on Discord or mail me on [email protected] ! i love to hear em <3 (keep reading for more information on the challenge)
i can’t wait to see all your lovely works! i’m really stoked to see and chat with you and learn all that’s going around in your wonderful minds.
much love,
Zhalia💖
✨FAQ✨
o   What is the Shyan Shipping Society (Server)?
The shipping society is a discord server owned by @bradpistachio where a bunch of shippers gather to chat about anything: their lives; the boys; other fanworks like fanfics and fanart; annoying antis; we have a writing lab to talk about your own works, and much more! The server is filled with amazing artists like madamecrimson, @helloitsvehere, @pizzacastella, sonzaishinai and many more. The server is an active and welcoming community. In the server, I also roll out the updates for this challenge and answer all your questions. Will we see you there?
o   Do i need to join the server to post?
It's not required! The server is a lil' bonus, a place where you can talk with fellow shippers about anything, but also where i will be reminding you of the challenge. We have handful of channels dedicated to this writing challenge, so it might help you out. It's also easier for me to follow, and whenever you have questions i will reply faster there than anywhere else. But, again, it's not necessary.
o   If i join the challenge once, am i required to join every month?
Most definitely not! You're free to join and leave whenever you want. Sometimes a prompt doesn't inspire you, or life dragged you away from writing and that's completely valid! This challenge is supposed to be a fun way to motivate you to express yoursef through your art, but it's not school so don't ever feel pressured :).
o   What tags do i include, what are the ratings we work in?
There are no required ratings and/or tags for you to use. In general, the prompts are all focused on Shyan, but if you'd like to add Standrew as a background relationship, feel free!! If the prompt is Watcher-oriented, but you feel like you need a bit of that spice that Curly brings with him, i encourage you! On top of that, you're free to choose whichever ratings you feel fit best. Personally, i mostly live off of M- and E-rated fics, but if you're uncomfortable with graphic descriptions of anything, and would rather keep it a fluffy G-rated fic, then knock yourself out! I believe you know what's best for your work!
On the shipping server, the prompt will have a set of recommended tags, these are ideas i'd write the prompt in, but they aren't mandatory. If it says 'friends to lovers' but you'd rather write 'established relationship' then feel free! It's your work after all.
o   Is there a minimum and/or maximum word count?
There is a minimum word count of 50 words right now, to show that you're seriously participating (i mean, wouldn't want "he smiled, they kissed, they fucked, the end" as a fic, right?). Your work does not have to be finished in order to fulfill the prompt, you can write one chapter, or one paragraph and edit it later when you have more time. If a prompt inspires you enough to write a long fic about it, don't feel pressured to finish it within a month! Take your time!! All we ask is for you to have written a start, and post that to the collection.
o   i am no writer, but i’d love to make art for this in another way, is that possible?
Of course! originally the challenge was only made for writers, because the server was filled with a majority of writers. however, over the past few weeks we’ve had a handful of artists join our little community as well, people like sonza and @berakangkang. Sonza has blessed us by filling the October prompt as well, so if you’re an artist and you’d like to participate, please join! we love love love your art. honestly. the server goes wild on fanart.
o   When do i post my submission?
Everyone who joins the challenge, posts their submission on the same day. This is the last 48 hours of a month - CET timezone. The next prompt will have been rolled out a day before we open submissions, so you can get familiar with it for a day or two before starting on it.
o   I don't think i'll reach the deadline, now what?
You can contact me privately about this through our discord server - for fast replies - or via my email ([email protected]). I will open the collection for you so you can submit it later. Keep an eye on the deadline though, a challenge won't be reopened a month after the deadline.
o   I have an amazing idea for a prompt, where do i submit it?
On the discord server, we have a channel named 'prompts-and-ideas' where some of these prompts even came from, you can submit them there and @ me so i'd know it's for the writing challenge.
If you don't have discord or don't want to join the server, you're free to mail me your idea with Shyan Shipping Society Prompt Idea as subject! I look forward to your ideas!
here’s the link to the parent collection on Archive Of Our Own, where you can always find the new prompts for the next months, and where you can post your work once i open the collection.
i can’t wait to see your works! i’m very excited to see what you all can come up with <3
ps,
this is the first time i host a writing challenge like this. i’m still learning my way around ao3′s function to make prompt meme challenges, and there may always be little bugs in the system, because i have but a small brain. i rely on carl-bot to remind me to post and open submissions and everything, to keep it running smoothly. i am trying my very best to make this fun for everyone. also i crave feedback, so if you have any comments, complaints, ideas, critique, please hit me up!!
oh and yeah i am very inactive on the tumblrs because i don’t uh catch the vibe of this platform but i’m trying. i’m trying. 👉👈

Right Place, Wrong Time
I’m going through the Wayback Machine and bringing over some fics that I wrote when I was imaginingwwesuperstars!! Well, at least what they have archived…and has been edited since the original post. Down to the last of them! I hope you enjoy!
I remember this one being one of my favorites!
Masterlist
Tumblr media
“Good morning, Sami!” You called from across the hotel lobby.
“Hey, Y/N!” Sami replied, returning your smile as he walked over to you and Kevin. “Hey, Kev.”
“Morning, man.” Kevin told Sami, still half asleep. “I look at this one and wonder how she’s so awake this morning.” He pointed to you.
“That’s because I didn’t sleep very well last night.” You said with a shrug. “So I was up early and got some coffee in me an hour ago.”
“Why didn’t you sleep? You could’ve called me, I didn’t sleep much either.”
“I was next door to Rollins and he was…entertaining a lady last night.”
“Ohhh…”
“Yeah, so it’s a safe bet this coffee will get me through the next hour before I pass out in the car.”
Sami smiled at you and shook his head at you. It was typical of you to pass out in the car no matter how much sleep you got. It’s one of the many reasons he chooses to sit in the backseat with you…he knows that you’ll scoot over so that you can fall asleep on his shoulder. You told him that you do that because it’s more comfortable and you’re less likely to strain your neck. He found himself jealous one time when it was Finn sitting in the backseat with you and he had allowed you to sleep on his shoulder.
But he knew he had nothing to worry about when it came to Finn or even Kevin. They both knew how he felt about you and they wouldn’t dream of betraying him by asking you out…well, Finn at least because Kevin’s married.
“Hey, Finn!” Your voice broke Sami’s thoughts.
“Hey there!” Finn replied to you with his signature smile, hugging you.
“I think Finn should be the first to drive…he looks well rested.” Kevin said with a yawn.
“That’s fine. Let's go.”
Sure enough, when everything was situated, Sami ended up sharing the backseat with you. You fell asleep on his shoulder and he found himself resting his head on top of yours.
“So you ever gonna tell her?” Finn asked, looking in the review mirror at Sami while at a stop light.
Sami looked down at you to make sure you were still asleep.
“Soon. I have to; I can’t keep doing this anymore.”
“Good. If it means anything I’m pretty sure she likes you too.” Kevin mumbled from the front passenger seat.
Sami lightly smiled before looking back down at you again. He’s definitely gonna tell you today…he needs to because he’s gotten to the point where if he can’t hold you or kiss you the way he wants, it physically hurts his heart…he never knew he needed those things from you until he tried to convince himself that he didn’t need it. And even when he saw you sleeping on Finn's shoulder…it hurt to see you with someone that wasn’t him so he had to say something to at least give himself a fighting chance.
=================================
You, Sami, Kevin and Finn stopped for lunch. Towards the end, Finn and Kevin excused themselves to go to the restroom, mostly on purpose to give Sami some time with you.
“Hey, Y/N, I wanted to talk to you about something really quick.” Sami said, rubbing the inside of his hands against his thighs under the table. They were sweaty and he was nervous.
“Okay. What’s going on?” You replied with a small smile.
“Well, I have this problem. There’s this girl I like and I’m not exactly sure how to tell her.” Sami started, already angry with himself that he didn’t straight out tell you his feelings. These were the first words to come out of his mouth and now he had to roll with it.
“Okay, do I know this girl?”
“You do.”
“Who is it? I wanna get a feel for her so maybe I can give you the best advice I can give you as a girl.”
“Well, I mean I don’t wanna name names yet, but I’m asking for your opinion like if it were you, how would you wanna hear that?”
“Okay, um, no matter what I think you should just remain straight forward. Don’t be afraid to put your feelings out there because she may feel the same way.”
“But what if I think I’m in love with her…should I say that?”
You couldn’t help but feel your heart sink. Sami is in love with this mystery girl…great…
“I mean, feel her out by admitting to the lighter truths about your feelings. If she responds positively, then I say why not?”
Sami nodded, noticing that your demeanor changed a bit. Now or never, Zayn…
“It’s good you say that because—”
“Okay, we ready to go?” Kevin asked as he came back to the table.
‘AH DAMMIT KEVIN!’ Sami scolded in his mind. He was just about to go for it!
=================================
Sami had noticed that you seemed down after he asked you for advice and he realized why as soon as they hit the arena for Raw. Kevin was right…you liked him too. There was no way you could say no, right? So he decided to walk you over to the women’s locker room.
“So, there’s more I wanted to talk to you about before Kevin interrupted.” Sami said.
“Oh?” You replied as you guys stopped in front of the door.
“Yeah, I, uh, I was thinking that—”
“Y/N!” A voice called out from the other side of the hallway.
You and Sami looked over to see Bayley walking over to you guys.
‘YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!’ Sami once again yelled in his mind. He loved Bayley but not when he was about to finally ask you out.
“Hey Bayley!” You replied to her with a smile.
Sami sighed to himself before hugging Bayley and excusing himself.
=================================
Sami tried again before your match. He knew you took at least 15 minutes where you usually took time to mentally prepare yourself before heading out there. Since he knew where you’d be, he’d decided to catch you a few minutes before you left for the ring.
He stopped for a moment when he saw you down the corridor, stretching a little bit. You looked so in your element and so concentrated…he thought it was so adorable. The look of determination in your eyes was so…he didn’t know how to describe it but he loved seeing you like this.
He forced himself to snap out of his thoughts. He didn’t have a whole lot of time and he needed to ask you out before anymore interruptions could find him.
“Hey, Y/N.” Sami said, pretending that he casually ran into you.
“Hey, Sami.” You replied with a smile. “Hey, you mentioned that you wanted to talk to me about something before Bayley showed up. Is everything okay?”
“Oh, yeah, everything is fine. I just wanted to see if maybe—”
“Y/N, you’re on in 30 seconds.” A stagehand called out.
‘I CANNOT CATCH A DAMN BREAK CAN I?!’ Sami’s frustrations were hitting a whole new high.
“Okay, thanks.” You called out. “We’ll talk later?”
“Yeah, sure.” Sami smiled.
You smiled back before walking away, offering him a small wave. Sami watched you leave and once more had to deal with his frustrations. Why? Why did he have to beat around the bush earlier?
=================================
After Raw, you and Sami went out with some of the roster to celebrate Bayley’s debut to the main roster. Sami knew that he would have to get you alone at some point tonight and ask you out…he just had to and if he had Kevin or Finn make sure that no one interrupted them, he could finally get out what he’s been holding in for so long.
“Hey guys, first round is on me!” You offered, much to the joy of the group of friends.
“I’ll help you out with the drinks.” Seth said, getting up to follow you to the bar.
“Me too.” Sami immediately added.
You, Sami and Seth got to the bar and got everyone’s drinks. The moment clearly didn’t come at the bar since Seth was there. At first, Sami was thinking that Seth was planning on making a move on you…but he didn’t, he was being genuinely nice. He did apologize for keeping you up last night, so that seemed to be what was driving his motives.
Throughout the night, you were definitely not making it easy for him to get you alone. If you were at the table, you were out dancing with the girls. Hell, you even managed to drag Kevin out for a dance and he doesn’t dance. But then finally, you got around to asking him and Sami happily accepted.
You two ended up having so much fun on the dance floor. You did stupid little dance moves when Sami wasn’t spinning and twirling you all over the place. A slow song came on and Sami offered you his hand. You smiled at him and allowed him to pull you a little closer to him, his arm wrapping around your waist as your hand rested on his shoulder, both your free hands joined together.
“You know, I was thinking about staying in tonight.” You told Sami.”But part of me knew that you’d make this night worth while.”
“Oh yeah?” Sami asked, a bright smile on his face.
“Yeah. I always have fun with you.”
“Good because I feel the same way.”
You smiled at him and leaned forward, resting your head on his shoulder. Sami took a deep breath, trying to calm his pounding heart. This was the perfect moment.
“Y/N—”
“Y/N!” A voice called out to you, interrupting Sami.
“Oh come on…” Sami mumbled as you pulled away from him.
“Hey, I want you to meet someone.” Bayley told you. “He’s a super nice guy and I think you guys will hit it off.”
“Uh, I don’t know.” You said.
“Seriously, his name is—”
“Y/N, I really like you!” Sami finally blurted out, interrupting Bayley.
Bayley froze for a moment before excusing herself.
“Is that what you’ve been trying to tell me all day?” You asked after a moment of soaking in his words.
“Yes. All day. The first time I tried to tell you, I ended up asking for advice. I was nervous.”
“So you were talking about me?”
“Yes.”
“You think you’re in love with me?”
“I don’t think anymore. I know I’m in love with you, Y/N. So do you wanna go out sometime, on a date?”
You looked at Sami for a moment, soaking in this information. He looked so nervous and scared for your answer. As far as you go, you had been waiting for what felt like forever for him to ask you out.
“I truly thought you’d never ask.”
“Really?” Sami’s smile grew.
“Yes. I’d love to go out with you.”
Sami pulled you into a hug, picking you up and spinning you around.
“And for the record,” You continued when he put you down. “I’m in love with you too.”
Sami smiled once more, his watery eyes looking at you in adoration. He leaned in and kissed you.
A few feet away, Finn and Kevin high fived each other.
“Finally.” Kevin said when he saw you and Sami part with smiles.

Tma relisten Episodes 11-15
So this round already has two other posts out of it about Oliver because he Bae.
These have alot of ideas regarding entities changing around reality, controlling non victims to set the stage, and turning around what people love most to their worst fear. Also insane abilities of the crew to obtain hard to access info and evidence! And some more Jon sass. Enjoy!

Wow this episode had alot. I made a separate post with a theory about Oliver's statement here and a realization regarding him and Jane Prentiss here. They are alot to unpack
Oliver is so. Freaking. Relatable! Learned economics and hated it. Nearly had a breakdown like him because of it. "going to stay with some of the few friends that had survived my year of stress-fuelled outbursts and constantly cancelled plans." yep. That.
Boyfriend Graham ey? You notebook eating Graham?? Wow that guy is full of surprises.
I love the dream sequences and their descriptions it's a really beautiful thing to try and picture.
Its interesting how he went from passive to desparate to passive again about death. He tries but can't help. I wonder when the dreams started to bother him so much he sought after the silence of point Nemo. Was it when they became so full of red because of the apocalypse coming closer? Hmmm
Another person named John. I guess that makes sense it's a common name. But I forgot how many people are fully named in this podcast. Hundreds of names to come up with! Jonny I'm quite impressed!
He worked with Jane Prentiss in the magic shop! I can't believe I forgot about that! Wow small avatar world indeed.
"It led me to a room, the label of which was still visible, and read “Archive”. I entered to see walls covered with shelves and cabinets stretching off into the distance. These shelves were coated in a sticky black tar, which I knew at that moment was the thickened, pulpy blood that pumped through each and every one of those veins." everything that has to do with the Fears I bet. Full of death and destruction and stolen from the veins to be out on display for the Eye's pleasure.
Yo Jon is scared of this he's seriously considering going to Elias for advice
" I had Tim look into it, as I don’t entirely trust the others not to have written it as a practical joke" wait. He trusts TIM? Not to do a practical joke? How. Why. Eh?
"died in the line of duty" fuck you Jonah.
Now Jon will get every new statement immediately when it's made. Perhaps this was Elias' intention all along. To scare him into making sure he does not miss any paranormal activity recorded by the institute.

I'm not immune to more Gerry badassery, hell yeah
And we get polish Martin which hell yeah! Even if Jon doesn't believe it. I'm sure he's repressing the fact that he's thoroughly impressed.
I think it's really interesting the effect entities have on people who are decidedly not their victims. Everyone leaving no questions so the entity can set the scene for the scare. Like with Gillespie how no one lived in the apartment building he was in etc. Alot of work into a handful of people being genuinely scared.
Gerry's burns stopped at the neck? How did he manage that. Also it's hilarious to imagine that he's like "yes burn all of me but please. not my goth makeup"
Zippo lighter with eye design!! And Jon has web design! They are brothers (joke but still really interesting)
Liquids were boiling around her and she didn't feel the heat. Also an interesting effect just for the scare.
Gerry got eye superpowers like Jon if he can function while injure and filled with painkillers.
“Yes. For you, better beholding than the lightless flame.” Gerry knew she'd be haunted by a Fear from that day on and realised that perhaps being watched would be easier for her specifically to deal with than the Desolation. I guess that's a way of assessing people. Which fear would least bother you.
Jon is already enamoured with Gerry you can tell. He can't wait to hear more from him. Just you wait Jon.
They really can access alot of information huh. CCTV Interviews files. Pretty impressive for a non-research team. They're so good at it they'd rather do that than actual archiving.

The sound editing in this episode is not that great it was a bit to get used to.
We get a glimpse at the Lukases which is... Ugh
Jon is actually trying to be nice. Granted it's not working and she is a bit of a standoffish person herself who just went through a bad time but alot of her reactions are not his fault. He was trying to be considerate giving her space to record but he did stay when she asked.
She had already leaned into the Lonely before the incident it's interesting to see how some of these statements start with a person actually liking the aspect that later turns to fear. Same happens in lost johns' cave.
Evan Lukas sounds like an avatar of the exact opposite of the Lonely. At least to her. That's a really interesting effect from someone, especially a Lukas.
But maybe dying wasn't his family killing him but him not feeding his patron which he tried to leave. Really tragic.
She was in Martin's domain eyyy!
It's got a bit of buried aspects to it with the grave stuff and all.
"My fingers dug into the soft cemetery dirt as I looked around desperately for anything I could use to save myself, and my hand closed upon that heavy piece of headstone. It took all my self-control to keep a grip on that anchor, as I slowly dragged myself away from the edge of my lonely grave." The headstone was her anchor? But it said forgotten. I wonder how it helped her pull away. It probably had to go together with Evan's voice. Like the rib and the tape recorders having to work together! I just wonder what meaning the stone had for her.
"I’d be tempted to chalk this one up to a hallucination from stress and trauma, if it wasn’t for the fact... " God he does believe her heavens. He's not a skeptic!
This is when Jon's dreams start which... Good luck Jon.

Rentoul is terrifying sonofabitch and I would never want to meet him irl
I remembered them talking about how he was supposed to be a person who cursed alot and they couldn't do it because of sensor and I have to agree this could have been much better for the story. I tried imagining curses in some places.
LOL Jon reading this is funny. Trying to voice act the bad boy. Doesn't sound right on his voice.
With these kinds of statements happening alot where the person does something bad, the institute has to be in touch with police over them. The nda has to include that.
Hello Angela! I really wonder what her deal is. She scared the bid bully so she gotta have creepy vibes to the extreme.
Another lighter! Hmm do I have to start following the lighter motiff in this podcast. This one has a topless woman on it. Flesh lighter?
Salesa's also appearing that's cool! Noriega was probably looking for an artifact to reverse the curse. Didn't work tho since they left with the crate. The buried crate perhaps?
I'm wondering. Was this written? Because the statement sounds like he's talking. If so, Where's the recording?
Oh Jon your attitude towards Martin is so bad. He works so hard and it's not even in what he's good at, sorting and filing like he knows how to do from the library. God.
What's the deal with all the furniture gone? Did he think it'll help not get injured? He's not that smart if he thought that would help him.
15 lost Johns' cave
Ack a bad statement she was not a good person all around
Another example of the entities setting the stage by controlling others not to interfere with the victim's experience.
Also another example of the person liking the subject (cave exploration in this case. And the dark for that matter) only for it to turn against them.
Not much to say about this one other than its one of the scarier ones for sure. And her recording in the end is really the cherry on top. There is alot of discrepancy between what she believed happened and what actually did which shows how much the fear plays with and changes around reality. That's also how she manages to lie in a statement to Beholding. It wasn't a lie. It was her version of reality and she did not remember saying those awful words.
Taught me alot about cave diving and how much I will never do it in my life.
The Dark was mixed into this as well so it wasn't purely Buried.
Btw Where did she get the candles she was found with?
It feels like she made a choice. Didn't want to spend her last moments with her sister and then didn't want to die. She chose her sister to be taken over her. Her sister called for help and the candle coming closer might have been her! But she just shut her eyes.
How did Tim gain access to the recording?? Wow that's some prime evidence.
Martin is claustrophobic amongst other things huh? Live how Jon just dismisses this as an excuse not to work. At least he didn't push it.
