Anakin as Obi-Wan's Campaign Manager?? Say more right now please!
correction - anakin (19yo) as obi-wan (35yo)'s nonconsensual campaign manager
here's a bit more! all just set up, i have no idea what i want out of this fic yet word-count wise. structure wise. etc.
The Kenobi thing happens accidentally, honestly. Anakin isn’t even sure how he got into it, but at the end of September, Padmé had mentioned how formative canvassing had been to her own political outlook, how impactful it had been to help out on a campaign, and Anakin had thought—that’s it. I can do that, and then she'll see we have things in common and then she'll fall in love with me.
And that night, he’d gone to his apartment and researched upcoming local elections. He’d found the list of people running for the city council, and he’d chosen one at a random. Obi-Wan Kenobi was thirty-five and up for re-election. He’d first been elected four years ago, at thirty-one, one of the youngest city councilmen in the history of Coruscant, running—as far as Anakin could tell—on the issue of city infrastructure and misuse and diversion of funds away from public goods like pothole-less roads to drive on.
Even just reading the summary on the guy’s past campaign had been boring as hell, but he’d won, is the thing. He’d won, which means he has a good shot of winning it again, which would make it incredibly easy to help him along. Not many people vote in city council elections—fact. Not many people vote for names they don’t recognize, and they have a higher chance of recognizing an incumbent’s name over a challenger’s—fact. It’s only impressive to canvas for a campaign if the guy you’re canvassing for is elected—fact.
So Obi-Wan Kenobi was a safe choice. A stellar choice.
Anakin hit the books that weekend, printed out a bunch of blurbs on what the guy’s done—apparently it’s been mostly advocating for filling in potholes on what Anakin would bet his tuition money on is the guy’s commute to work—and hit the streets to drum up support for him.
The election is in the middle of November, and today is October 2nd. Half the doors Anakin knocks on remain unopened, a fourth are closed in his face, and the remaining percentage are either not registered to vote or seem lukewarm to the idea of voting in a city council election at all. Three different elderly ladies have asked him if Kenobi is running for president.
Hell, next time he’s just going to say yes.
—---------
But Ahsoka isn’t wrong. Anakin hates to admit it, but he knows he has to. She’s not wrong. Something needs to change in his strategy because he’s not getting the numbers he needs. Honestly, this whole adventure has made him lose faith in the effectiveness of democracy.
Maybe dictatorships aren’t so bad. It’s not like these people are voting anyway.
He’s smart enough to keep this observation to himself, of course, but he wonders what could have been so eye-opening about Padmé’s time canvassing when Anakin’s having a hard enough time making this whole thing door-opening.

TFP Shattered Glass, but June and Fowler are swapped.
I've never seen anybody do that, usually the humans stay the same as baseline except Silas and Fowler are sometimes swapped.
Or maybe up it a notch and swap all three of them? June as a government agent, Fowler as M.E.C.H's leader, and Silas as a nurse? Or nurse Fowler, agent Silas, and M.E.C.H leader June?
You know, that would be fascinating because i admit i have a tendency to forget the humans whwn i mess with shatteree glass, but swapping all three of their roles up would be so fascinating as all fucking hell
I'd be so here for MECH Leader!June actually she'd be so fucking cool

HI MOD SWORD IF IT'S YOU [Also hi to the other mods you guys deserve love too <333]
I hope this isn't just a ME thing. But I genuinely believe some maps in the game should be reworked.... Like ROBLOX HQ for example. That map is sooooooo fucking bad. Genuinely.
It's too small, it's so easy to spawn camp the other team if you manage to get the upper hand, some chars' phinishes [like Rocket's for example] are soooooo fucking finicky to use
Like I see the dev team reworking other maps but why not the HQ???? It's a map that REALLY needs to be reworked and touched up so that it'll ACTUALLY be an enjoyable map to play on.
- 🎐 anon [I HAVE RETURNED!!!]
HIIII!!!!!! yes its me mod sword hello :3
i agree tbh theres a lot of maps i think need reworks.. underground war is one of them its a very neat concept but i think its not done that well... the secret side tunnels are cool but they literally serve zero purpose in conquer it feels like the map was built for stealth characters when we HAVE NONE... like the caves lead directly to backlines but theres actually no POINT IN THAT bc hypers will snipe from the top of the rocks in the middle and everyone crowds the centre AS THEY SHOULD BC ITS CONQUER. not to mention how massive the underground is for no reason it really strikes me as an annihilate map that was randomly decided to be a conquer map last minute.. they couldve done something much cooler with the holes up top akin to the two paths out of spawn in bowling alley (i.e. have the Large Hole that everyone goes down and then turn the side paths into paths dug INTO THE WALLS for supports or snipers so they can have a perch or safer less direct way to get down to the centre... and it should stay a conquer map but have annihilate as an option bc tbh a rework for it would go SO HARD as annihilate.. or if they ever add capture the flag as a gamemode i think underground war would be such a good ctf map not even joking..... SORRY WOW IK THE ASK WAS ABOUT HQ BUT I NEEDED TO TALK ABT UW
anyways i really love hq because i get to throw my sword into the hallway and kill people :)

most recent story development in my brain: ive decided to actually seperate taffy and coco during the timeskip
initially i had it that taffy sticks with coco because he has nowhere to go and they eventually get together over the timeskip. the new version is that he runs away and disappears right before mochi leaves
in my head i see him as the type to run away after what mochi and coco do for him-- after coco put in so much effort and time advocating for him because she saw that there were traces of a good person under his antagonistic nature, and after mochi beat his ass for the final time and finally cleared his curse, he doesnt know what to do with himself.
the rest of the guild at that point (mochi included) has an attitude of "We know why you were the way you were. Now that there's no reason for you to hate us, you're free to go where you want. You can even stay with us." and this sentiment eats him alive. the guilt he feels is insane. the fact that he spent months (years?) trying to ruin mochi, brewing in bitterness and rage and all of a sudden all of that is gone and replaced with forgiveness and warmth is unbearable and he cant stand it, so he leaves.
this is all coupled with his feelings for coco and the attitude on his end of "I don't deserve this. I don't deserve her. All I can do is bring them down. All I can do is bring her down. I have no right to stay here. I have no right to want to stay here."
so theres a pivotal scene in my head where he has all these thoughts, standing right outside the side door to mochis house hearing them all chattering inside, and has a long moment of hesitation before going inside. in the OLD version coco opens the door before he can make up his mind and forces him inside with the rest of them, but in the NEW version i think its much more taffy-like if hes gone by the time she notices and gets to the door
(tldr timeline: mochi removes his curse -> he disappears -> he only appears for the last amanita fight because really thats HIS fight as much as it is mochis -> he leaves again RIGHT after. i imagine coco tried to stop him or say goodbye but this man is notoriously good at escaping quickly)
and so timeskip-wise coco attends university on her own. she keeps in touch with oscar and lime (more oscar than lime) and while she never directly set out to look for taffy, there was always that desire to look for him in a crowd or something, maybe hoping to run into him at random or that he would show up out of nowhere like he did the first time.
I'm not totally sure what he does during the timeskip then. something far away from coco and the guild, but somewhere close to the ocean because he could never find it in him to stray too far from it for too long. maybe lost his touch with water magic a bit because he was too afraid and guilt-ridden to use it. never really stopped thinking about coco but couldnt muster up the courage to go find her again. for YEARS hes convinced that she doesnt want to see him and he wouldnt do anything to make her life better. hes done too much to all of them for them to ever accept him, he thinks.
until one day coco just. shows up. after tracking him down (with mochi and sulluvans help). sitting on a barrel at the docks he works at in some city somewhere, eating some cotton candy she bought at the docks like "Heyo! Mochi needs another guild member, and you kinda owe us one, soooo..."
