careful daughter // marcus armstrong
summary: she's always been the careful daughter. when she slips up on a final exam, marcus knows jsut how to make everything better. or, where he fell in love with a careful man's once careless daughter.
warnings: talks of past regrets
pairing: marcus armstrong x female! reader
Tumblr media
she knew she'd bottled it almost as soon as she'd handed in the paper
even though she'd looked it over, confused and frustrated, four separate times, she was one of the first to hand it in
the perfect student who looked like she was always on top of things, the smartest in the room
but she didn't feel like it as she walked towards the campus parking lot, a pit in her stomach as she waited for marcus
since she didn't need to be at the campus for long, he said he'd drop her off before the exam, and then take her out to dinner afterwards
and god did she need marcus cornelius armstrong right now.
she needed him to hold her and tell her that everything was going to be fine.
"princess, what's wrong?" marcus asks her, the air in his bmw heavy with the anxiety radiating off his girlfriend
"i fucked up, marcus. the most important exam of my college career, and i think i bottled it."
"oh, honey. i'm sorry." marcus frowns, taking her hand in his.
he doesn't know what to do
roles are usually reversed because he's the one bottling something (a.k.a his entire formula 2 season)
he takes her to a fifties themed diner, some place nice and quiet
not exactly romantic, but he hopes it might be able to cheer her up
they order burgers, fries and milkshakes, with a basket of onion rings to share
"i used to be an awful person, marcus. i allowed myself to be defined by one thing and i thought that other people didn't like me, so i pushed them away before they got the chance to really get to know me. i thought i was stopping myself from getting hurt, that i was the only person i needed. i wasted so much time being that person, and now that i'm not, i've spent so much time trying to figure out who i actually am. i have days where i regret every single decision that i have ever made. and what if i'm wasting more time now on a major that's not meant for me?"
and marcus is shocked, for the first time in his life, he's speechless
"baby, listen to me. you aren't that girl any more, and you don't have to be, either. it's just one test. i know first hand how much effort you have put into this course. and you are so fucking good at it, princess. you are going to be the best in your field. none of this has been a waste of time, yeah?"
there's a jukebox in the corner, and he knows just what to do
he gets up, puts a quarter in the record machine
and selects a dolly parton song that he knows is going to make y/n laugh
"tumble out of bed, and stumble into the kitchen, pour myself a cup of ambition"
he knows his singing and dancing routine is awful, all shrugged shoulders and foot-shuffling as his glasses slide down his nose
despite everything, she's laughing, her face lighting up as marcus invites her out onto the tile floor to dance with him to '9 to 5'
and how can she be upset around someone as lighthearted and full of love and life as marcus cornelius armstrong?
the song changes to an aerosmith ballad, for the jukebox is only equipped with the classics
and their food is practically forgotten as they sway together in the middle of the diner to 'i don't want to miss a thing'
and for once, she's not worried about her test, or her grades
she knows she's going to be okay in the end

A Love That Never Fades (MBJ x OC)
A/N: My first request by the amazing @prettyisasprettydoes1306! Hope you enjoy it!!
Warnings: miscarriage
“Hey baby,” Chastity swung open the door to her apartment and wrapped her boyfriend in a deep embrace. She buried her face in his neck as he held her for a moment. Though they were not on the same page at the moment, this part, the love, was always there.
“How are you?”
“J-Just tired and weirdly nauseous. Probably just the stress of these fuckin’ finals though. Can’t wait for this semester to be over.”
Michael glanced from his girlfriend and her very cozy leggings and sweatshirt to the cluttered mess of notes and open textbooks spread across her couch and coffee table, a realization hitting him.
“Think you’ll still be able to go to this party with me? For the studio?”
Chastity glanced at him and the clock and the mountain of work she still needed to do to finish her paper by tomorrow at noon. She rubbed her forehead in frustration at herself for losing track of time and not being able to finish her paper and the predicament she and Michael seemed to routinely find themselves as of late.
His star in Hollywood was on the rise, which meant more events and opportunities for him to shine. Chastity could not be prouder. However, the schedule of a rising actor did not quite align with the schedule of a junior in a rigorous degree program. 90% of Chastity’s time was devoted to classes, studying to maintain her trajectory of graduating with honors, and her wide range of extracurricular activities. While she loved her boyfriend, her hustle and her desire to be the very best is what drove her, which meant there was precious time left in the day for anything else, including her long-term boyfriend.
She and Michael met freshman year of high school, the pair sat next to each other in homeroom World History. There was an immediate pull that led them to becoming best friends by the end of the first week. It did not take long for them to become inseparable and for their feelings to bleed over the appropriate boundaries of friendship. Chastity still remembered the night Michael asked her to be his girlfriend at a local pizza parlor near his house. It remained one of the happiest moments of her life.
Throughout their relationship, they were each other’s first in almost everything, sharing so many intimate and special moments of their formative years together. When Michael decided to move out to LA to pursue acting full-time, Chastity had no reservations about following him, especially since UCLA was one of her top choices for college. Their first two years in their new city were magical. They were two broke kids following their dreams and still managing to live their best lives. Chastity excelled in her classes and on campus socially and Michael laid the groundwork for, what they both knew, would be a long career in Hollywood.
However, it felt like something shifted between them in the last year. Chastity’s school work exponentially increased as she settled into her major and got internships and other priorities. And Michael booked role after role that took him out of LA for months at a time, leaving the pair little to no time to spend together.
Neither of them complained, one of the many things they fell in love with each other for was their work ethic. Neither of them were afraid to sacrifice and hustle to achieve their dreams. But they had also never had to sacrifice each other, that was new. And where did that hustle leave their relationship? What time did that leave to nurture their garden that required time, energy, and dedication to stay alive? And the last few months were living proof of the consequences of not tending to that garden, significant parts of their relationship dying because of it.
“I don’t think so, babe. I’m sorry… I tried but I’m just not making progress on this paper. And it’s due tomorrow. I’m gonna be in this spot all night”
Michael hung his head in disappointment, his hand scratching his head. He stayed silent as he tried to find words that did not fully showcase the extent of his disappointment and frustration.
“I’m sorry, Mike, seriously,” she interjected, closing the book next to her. “I can make it up to you? In two weeks, finals’ll be done and I’ll be all yours, half naked… on the beach.” She smiled slyly as she stood, wrapping her arms around him. She could not wait to get their vacation, Michael treating her to a beach getaway to celebrate the end of her semester. It was a needed vacation for both of them, a bright spot at the end of a dark and long tunnel, and given their lack of emotional intimacy as of late, she was looking forward to a week of spending time with only him.
However, she was surprised to find a despondent look on his face as she mused about their upcoming trip.
“What’s wrong?”
“Babe…” he started to say, Chastity immediately cutting him off. She removed herself from his arms, folding hers across her chest in frustration.
“Mike. NO. What the fuck? We’ve had this planned for months!”
Michael threw his hands up in the air. “What do you want me to say, Chas?! This director reached out and it’s a last minute opportunity. I-I can’t pass it up. I gotta go for table reads in New York the week of our trip.”
Chastity glanced up at the ceiling, hopeful that it would stop her tears from falling.
“I-I’m sorry. I’ll make it up to you,” he tried to offer but Chastity merely scoffed.
“Make it up to me when? You’re gonna be gone in New York, then you have another project all summer and then I’m back in school. There is no time to make it up to me!”
“Shit! I’m doin’ the best I can, babe! I’m tryin’ to be there for you and get my career going.”
She merely shook her head, her palms pressing into her eyes as tears started to fall. She hated crying.
“I-If this is the best we can do…” she mumbled as she sat down on the couch. She was exhausted, finally feeling the compounding weight of their repeated failures on her shoulders. When she looked back over the last month, she did not see the fruits of their best efforts, the benefits of “trying.” She merely saw the destruction their failures left behind.
She twiddled her thumbs as she stared at her hands, feeling his weight on the couch as he sat down beside her.
“What if… it’s just not in cards for us, babe?”
Michael turned around sharply, already feeling his world crumbling as her words hit him. “W-what are you saying, Chas?”
Chastity looked up at the ceiling as tears stung the back of her eyes. “B-believe me, it’s not what I want, Michael. But our lives are j-just not… We’ve been trying our hardest for the last few months and its only led to this… mess. It’s not working… w-we aren’t working.”
As much as it broke his heart, he had no argument to offer, not one that was rooted in logic at least. Because she was right. They had been ships passing in the night for months and despite efforts on both sides to adjust and compromise, there was only so much adjusting an actor and college student could do regardless of how much they loved each other. They wanted it to work, but in this iteration of their lives, neither saw a world in which it could. They could stay together and make it work just because they loved each other. But they both knew that would only lead to more resentment. Chasity was merely the first one brave enough to confront that fact.
Michael’s hand roughly wiped away a tear making its way down his cheek. “Nah you’re right. I c-can’t give you need or deserve right now.”
Chastity shook her head. “This is not just on you, Mike. You need someone who can support your dreams and be there for you always. Right now, my life is this,” she gestured to the stack of books on her coffee table. “I’m tryin’ but there isn’t room for much else.”
“So this is it?”
“I j-just don’t see another option. A-and it kills me. You have to know that. B-but this, this half life we are living together? It just hurts too much,” she whispered, her voice breaking.
“Nah, nah. I u-understand.”
“I-I love you so much, you know that?”
“I l-love you too.”
Michael pressed his lips to her head, letting out a strangled sigh before he turned to leave. He did not look back at her, he knew if he did, he would not be able to walk out the door. And she did not look at him, for if she did, she would not have been able to let him leave. But they both knew they had to - he had to leave and she had to let him. Because they deserved more than what the other could give them. And their careers deserved a chance to flourish without someone, even someone they loved with all their might, holding them back.
“Bye, Chastity…” he offered a final word before he exited.
“Bye Michael.”
***
7 years later
“Oof I’m starvin’” Michael muttered as he, Steelo, and a couple other friends sat down at their table at the back of Nobu. He rubbed his hands together as he scanned the menu. Despite its popularity, it still managed to be delicious and worth every dollar every time he went. His eyes felt significantly bigger than his stomach as he wanted to devour everything he could.
“Aye bruh,” Steelo gently hit him on his arm to get his attention. The man pointed toward a table of women on the other side of the restaurant. Despite the distance of the restaurant, Michael would recognize the woman at the center of the booth any day from miles away. “That aint’ Chas, is it??”
Michael cleared his throat awkwardly. “Nah it is.” He had not seen her since they broke up years ago. Time had diminished his heartache, but it had not diminished his feelings for her. Since their break up, he had felt those feelings in tiny sparks at random moments. Something or someone or a place ignited a memory of her and those feelings flared for a brief moment. Then they disappeared, shoved back into the crevices of his mind where he could not feel them again. Until the next time.
However, in this moment, he did not feel sparks. He felt those feelings like a burning fire, consuming every other emotion in his mind like fuel until it was the only thing left worth feeling at all. And that was far worse, far more uncomfortable than the momentary pain. This forced him to remember it all, pine for it all again, and mourn what he lost when they broke up.
His life had moved on, his star had rose just as Chas said it would. And he kept up with her career, as much as he could without seeming stalker-ish, and knew her star was rising as well. However, his heart was stagnant, frozen in time with her. He had tried to find other partners, other women who could fade into the background and be the supportive woman on his arm. But none of them compared or even came close.
Because recently, he realized the last thing he wanted was a supportive trophy girl on his arm. He wanted a woman with her own shit, who was a star in her own right and who knew how to stand alone without him. That was the definition of Chastity. And even across the dim restaurant, he could see her radiating the same beauty he remembered. If anything, time had only increased that glow.
“Stop staring bruh. It’s gettin’ awkward. Don’t be a fuckin’ creeper.” Steelo instructed, Michael immediately removing his eyes from her table as his friends all snickered at him. He knew what he looked like, a love sick puppy. But he was who he was. A man still in love with a woman he knew he could not have.
“Alright this is fuckin’ weird. Imma go say hey.” Steelo decided, tired of the awkward silence that drowned on as Michael stole glances at her table and ignored the conversations at theirs.
“What?? Nah nigga. Sit yo ass down,” Michael instructed, his voice low and annoyed as Steelo stood up.
“Nah nigga. We know them, went to school with them. Imma go over, gauge… I’ll give you the signal and then you come over and say what’s up. She’s gonna have to walk by this table to leave so let’s just get the awkward shit outta the way now, aight? Damn” he muttered under his breath. “This nigga always got somethin’.”
Michael’s hands awkwardly rubbed against his jeans as he felt his palms get sweaty. With every step Steelo took toward the table, his heartbeat grew louder and louder in his ear until it was a thundering drum beat. He stood up abruptly.
“Imma go to the bathroom,” he announced before scurrying away from the table and toward the back, locking himself in the restroom. He braced himself over the sink.
“Fuck. What’s wrong with you, Mike?” He asked himself as he looked in the mirror. There was a time when he planned to spend the rest of his life with this girl and now he could not get the courage to cross a restaurant and utter a one-syllable word: hey.
Michael usually did not give into his fear. He felt it, just like every other human being, but he refused to give it control. His philosophy usually was that if something scared you, you were on the right track. However, with Chastity, talking to her scared him and he did not know if his usual philosophy applied. Their break up was amicable at the time. But had time changed how she felt about him? How she viewed their teenage-into-adulthood romance? Michael certainly could have been a better boyfriend back in those days. He had learned a lot in the game of adulting and there were things he wished he could go back and do differently. Did she hold those things against him?
He did not know and he was afraid to find out. But he knew he could not hole up in the bathroom until she and their friends left. He would have to find courage from somewhere, even if he had to pretend to be a version of himself he was not. He could act courageous even if he did not feel it.
He swung open the door to the bathroom to find his way back to their table, shocked to literally run into Chastity on the way out.
“Oof!”
“My bad!” He immediately offered before he realized who it was. “C-Chastity?”
“Wild way to say hello after so many years, Mike,” she laughed as she rolled her shoulder for a moment and moved around him toward the women’s bathroom door.
“What can I say? Always had a flair for the dramatic, right?” He offered.
“Yea, you did. We get older but somethings never change, huh?”
Michael chuckled, immediately feeling a bit at ease as she started off with a playful jab. This was their way, their banter, constant jokes. He missed that.
“You might be right about that.” He glanced up and down at her, she looked beautiful. Her body was still worth feasting on, her curves filling out in all the right places as she grew older. “H-how you been?”
Chas shrugged, “Good, good. Just working, honestly. Long hours kill me but that’s the grind right? What about you? I see you taking Hollywood by storm, Mr. Superstar.”
“Like you always said I would. Wouldn’t have gotten this far without you,” he offered humbly. And he meant it. Chastity supported every project and every dream, even the ones that seemed wild and outlandish. She had been his motivation and biggest cheerleader. And since he lost her for this career, he always felt this push to do everything he could to be successful so that sacrifice they both made would be worth something.
“I don’t believe that for a second,” she laughed, her hand waving to dismiss him. “You were always a star. Long before you met me.”
“Eh you brought it out of me though. Supported me through it all,” his hand grabbed hers, his thumb rubbing patterns on the back of her hand.
Chastity’s eyes gently fell closed at his touch. She had forgotten how much she missed it, how much comfort it provided. When you go without for so long, time diminishes what the thing you lacked actually felt like. You start to get used to life without it, build a routine to the point where, it no longer feels like you are missing anything at all. But now that she had it again, she wanted to bask in it and never let it go.
However, she knew she could not. That was not who they were, not anymore. It pained her but she gently and slowly removed her hand from his, using it the awkwardly scratch her arm just to appear to have something to do.
“So you got the whole gang out here, I see?” He cleared his throat and gestured toward her table.
“Oh yea. Shauna’s birthday so they all came out to visit. It’s been nice to have ‘em here. Crazy that we ran into y’all. Small world.”
“For sure.”
They stared at each other for a few moments, an awkward but not unpleasant silence settling between them. Chastity was the first one to decide to break it. Not because she wanted to leave but because she was fearful of what would happen if she stayed. Michael was her kryptonite and if she stayed too long in his lingering stare and touch, she would never be able to make herself leave. And she would not be able to keep certain skeletons buried where they belonged.
“U-Um, I better head back before they think someone kidnapped me,” she joked, causing him to laugh. “It was really good to see you.”
She started to return to the table, her mission to go to the bathroom to avoid Michael long forgotten.
“Hey Chas!” Michael stopped her.
She turned and glanced at him. “What’s up?”
“What are y’all doing tomorrow night?”
“Nothing right now, why?”
“Come by the house. Still the same number? I can text you the address. I’m having a cookout. Low-key, just friends, music, food, and drinks. Maybe y’all could swing by for a bit.”
Chastity nodded. She knew it was not a good idea. They had only been in each other’s presence for 5 minutes and they were already falling back into old patterns. However, she also knew she could not say no, not to him. Not to the chance of spending time with him again. Even if it was fleeting, she wanted it and needed it.
“Sure, I’ll run it by the girls. And yea, same number.”
“Ok cool.” He threw caution to the wind and wrapped her in a hug before letting her go. His heart smiled at the way her body instinctively relaxed into his. He wished they could’ve stayed like that, in each other’s arms all night, but they both had people to get back to.
They broke apart and retreated to their tables, each of them stealing a glance back at the other as they went.
“So ladies…” Chastity slid back into their booth, a sly grin painted on her face. “What do yall think about going to a party tomorrow?”
“At Michael’s??” One of them asked.
At Chastity’s nods, the girls only had one response:
“Say less.”
***
“You gonna go find your man?” Shauna asked as Chastity and the girls walked through Michael’s foyer. It was packed with people, the vibe feeling more like a party than a cookout but she recognized some familiar faces from school, guys that still were cool with Michael. They had not even seen the host yet, it was so crowded, Steelo had welcomed them into his spot.
“We just got here, Shauna. And he’s entertaining and shit. I’m sure I’ll see him at some point.”
Even as she spoke, her eyes intently searched the crowd for his familiar handsome face. But she did not see him anywhere.
“You gonna shoot your shot when you see him?”
Chastity rolled her eyes and huffed. “You know I can’t do that and you know why.”
Shauna merely shrugged. “I know that nigga still loves you. And you still love him. And if you just tell him what happened, which he deserves to know anyway, maybe y’all can get back to where you were. The past is the past, Chas. Don’t let it dictate your shit for the rest of your life.”
Chastity had little time to process Shauna’s words when someone grabbed her gently by the arm. She turned to find Michael standing behind her, a bright grin on his face.
“You made it!”
He handed her a drink, her favorite liquor and mixer inside it. She smiled, “Quite the party you got goin’ here. And you remembered?”
He shrugged. “I remember everything about you, girl. And just like to get the folks together every once and while between projects. Have a good time n shit. You want a tour?” He gestured toward the house.
She instinctively nodded, though she regretted that decision nearly immediately. As she followed him through the downstairs and upstairs, she knew being alone was likely not a good idea for either of them but it seemed her common sense had little power over her legs or voice. Because she used neither to escape the situation. She just followed her heart, and that led her through Michael’s house.
She was in awe of his spot, expansive and beautiful but it still managed to feel like a home. She lost track of the amount of times she commented on how amazing it was by the time they reached his bar upstairs.
“Two bars, you got a problem you wanna talk about??”
She asked jokingly as she sat on one of his barstools in his gaming room. He let out a barking laugh.
“I just like to entertain and this gives me a couple different options. Also hate running around the whole damn house when I want a drink.”
“Totally fair,” she remarked.
“What about you? Got a good spot?”
She nodded. “Yea, yea. A condo downtown in a high rise. It’s not this,” she laughed, “But it’s home.”
Michael sat in the barstool next to her, the pair catching up in the quietness of his upstairs “man cave” while the party raged downstairs. Neither of them paid attention to the time that passed as they talked about their careers and their families, both of them sharing the latest family drama they had to offer. Chastity forgot what it was like to share intimate moments like this with someone, forgot what it was like to laugh this hard with him and joke and be free. The longer she sat there in seclusion with him, the more she missed him. And the more she realized how she never stopped missing him, how her love for him never truly faded, she just tucked it away where it could not bother her anymore. And the more she wondered if her best friend’s words held some truth.
“That’s hilarious… he sounds adorable, I’m glad they are doing good,” Chastity offered as Michael showed her a funny video of his nephew. “You were always excellent with kids so I know you're having a ball.”
He nodded. “I really am. He's great.”
The conversation lulled for a moment, Michael staring at her for a moment before he added. “I’m really happy you came. I fuckin’ missed you.”
“I missed you too.”
The pair locked eyes for a moment, years of pining and unsaid feelings passing between them. Chastity had not looked in his eyes for years and yet they held the same thing they did back then: immense love and adoration. Love and adoration she did not know if she still deserved from him.
“U-Um, I should go,” she whispered, her eyes falling to her lap. “Find the girls.”
She started to walk toward the door until she felt his hand grab hers. In one swift motion, he pulled her into his embrace, his lips crashing onto hers. She moaned as he kissed her roughly, her back hitting the wall. His lips searched for every inch of available skin to kiss and taste, both of them seeking a feeling that they had gone without for far too long.
However, Chastity knew she could not let this go down the road it was headed without telling him the truth.
“Michael,” she pressed her hand to his chest, breaking away from his kiss. It was not that she did not want it. She did, desperately so. However, if that kiss signified a second chance for them, she could not pursue it until he knew the full story, their full story. And if she did not do it now, she would never have the courage to do it again.
“I-I’m sorry. I s-shouldn’t have done that. I-It’s just…”
She shook her head, “No, no. I-I want it. I want you.” Their foreheads pressed against each other’s for a moment. “But before we… I need to tell you something. Something that happened after we broke up.”
Michael took a step back, his anxiety immediately spiraling as he took in the look of pain and sorrow on her face. Similar to his love for her, his care for her as a person and her safety had not diminished either.
“W-what happened?”
Chastity wiped a stray tear that fell from her eyes. She never liked to think about it, the cramping that woke her up in the middle of the night, the fear that tore the sound and words out of her voice as she tried to call a friend to take her to the ER, the panic that dug its claws into her soul on the ride there, the sharp rollercoaster of shock and grief when she found out in a span of 5 minutes that she had been pregnant and lost their baby.
She thought about calling Michael in the days after. She knew he would come if she called, knew he would support her and help her heal. She laid in bed and cycled between sobbing and staring at his name in her phone contemplating whether to hit the call button. But each time she came close, she always stopped herself. She knew he would come and if he did, she would never truly move on. She was still heartbroken on top of everything else, still yearned for him above all else. And she knew she needed to learn how to stand and heal on her own. And she decided it was unfair to drop this trauma on him when there was nothing that could be done. She may have had to live with the pain, but he did not have to too.
She wiped a tear from her cheek. She had rarely spoken about the miscarriage, it had always been too painful. It was a period of her life she desired to forget.
“Ummm… about two months after we broke up, I w-woke up one night in p-pain. L-Like nothing I had ever felt. Went to the ER and… I w-was pregnant.”
His eyes grew wide. “P-pregnant?” He could not hide the shock in his voice. Though when he thought back to it, it made sense. In the weeks leading up to the breakup, he recalled her complaining of nausea and fatigue. They both assumed it was the stress of her school work. “W-why didn’t you t-tell me?”
She shook her head. “T-there was nothing to tell. W-when I got to the ER that night, they told me I was pregnant… and that I m-miscarried.”
Michael could not stop the tears that flowed like rivers down his face. He did not know how he could grieve a life he did not know existed and never met. But he felt it, waves of it crashing over him as he looked at her. They had talked about kids back then, even at their young age. How many, what they would look like, which of them they would be more like. Sure it was all talk, but a future they both had seen so clearly with each other, that it had felt real.
And now, he knew that they had created something together and their breakup had cost them that. He also felt guilt, wondering if his inability to make their relationship work had led to this outcome. And that felt worse than any physical wound he had ever experienced, it was a searing pain he could not escape from.
“W-was it the b-break up?” He asked quietly, his guilt clear in his voice.
Chastity immediately shook her head, rushing up to him and pulling him in an embrace. She leaned back and held his head in her hands, her thumb wiping away his tears. She hated that he felt guilty, this was one of the many reasons she chose to keep this to herself for so long. She did not find it fair transfer this pain onto him, particularly so many years later.
“No. Listen to me. Th-this was no one’s fault, I promise you. T-the doctors said it c-could’ve been anything. The stress from finals o-or nothing to do with any of that at all. It just happens a-and there isn't really anything you can do, they said.”
He nodded. “A-are you ok?” His hands went to her waist, holding onto her.
She smiled and nodded. “Y-yea, yea. The weeks after were the hardest but over time… it’s gotten better. A-and the doctors said it won’t affect any long-term fertility so I guess that’s good?” She mumbled. “I-It was hard… doing it alone though. I wanted to call you so many times, Michael,” she whispered, her head thudding into his chest. His hands rubbed soothing circles in her back. “I-I just knew I wouldn’t be able to let you go a second time if I let you back in, even when I really needed you. S-So I dealt with it alone. It w-was h-hard. A-and I’m sorry I never told you. A-and am just dropping it on you like this. I-I just think you needed to know if we were gonna…” her words trailed off but Michael did not need her to finish the sentence, he knew what she meant.
Michael tightened his arms around her. “Nah, I-I’m sorry I couldn’t be there for you. You shouldn’t’ve gone through that alone." He pressed a teary kiss to her forehead. “I-I love you so much. I never stopped loving you, Chas. D-don’t think I ever will.”
“I never stopped loving you either,” she whispered.
Michael held her for a few more minutes before her phone started to buzz.
“Y-You should answer those, it’s probably your girls thinkin’ I kidnapped you,” he joked, cutting some of the more serious tension in the room.
“Y-yea I should let them know I’m good.”
She shot off a few texts before turning back to him. “S-sorry, they were just reminding me we made dinner reservations. I-I should go.”
Her heart almost broke at the disappointed look on his face. However, before she left, he reached out for her hand.
“I know this might be a lot to ask a-and we have a lot to talk about but… stay? I want us back, Chas. There'll never be another woman like you out there for me. You're it. Stay. Please”
Chastity stared at him for a moment, before texting her friends.
Head to dinner without me. I’ll be good here.
She then turned her phone off and slid it into her back pocket. She giggled as Michael pulled her back to his embrace.
“So we really gonna do this again?” She asked, stifling a small moan as he kissed and sucked on the soft skin of her neck, immediately going to a sensitive spot there that he knew drove her wild.
“Hell yea. And it’ll be better than it ever was.”
“Yea, it will.”
Fin.

Alice is always dying the tips of her blonde hair a different color, and never leaves the house without her combat boots.
Jasmine Sato (21) A bubbly, yet insecure, Fine Arts Major who spends most of her free time painting and sculpting, when she's not hanging out with her new boyfriend, Brett. Feeling pressure from her parents to have a more "successful" career, she struggles to find a balance between what she loves and her family’s expectations.
Tessa Gilman (22) Adopted as a baby by a gay couple, Tessa is a confident, loyal, and rational individual. Her love of the sciences and crime TV shows led her to major in Forensic Science. When she's not in the lab, most of her time is spent over at her boyfriend Aaron's place, whom she has been dating since Sophomore year.
Paul Carlisle (25) Currently working as a paralegal, Paul is protective, career-oriented, and ambitious. Forced to raise his younger brother, Brett, due to their parent's addictions, the two became very close and have a strong bond. Brett currently lives with him in the house that he is renting.
Brett Carlisle (21) Younger brother to Paul, he is an outgoing and playful athlete with a big heart. Brett started playing for the college lacrosse team during his Sophomore year, and enjoys spending time in the gym with his teammates. However, he's been distracted as of late by his new girlfriend, Jasmine, who he is head over heels for.
Aaron Sanderson (21) Although most would call him a genius, he would never refer to himself as one. A Mechanical Engineering Major, Aaron is studious, anxious, and a perfectionist. He has a love for animals, preferring them over most people, and spends time volunteering at the local animal shelter. He met Brett freshman year, when they were assigned as roommates while living in the dorms. Although they didn't get along at first, they eventually became best friends, despite their opposing personalities.
Calvin Strong (24) A foul-mouthed and blunt individual who cares more for others than he does himself, especially his sister Alice, who he's always having to bail out of trouble. At the age of 15, Calvin spent 6 months in juvie for stealing and crashing a car. Ironically, he now works as a car mechanic, and has managed to turn his life around, despite his troubled past.

I am free to feel that grief and acknowledge the remorse of my "choice"
Melanie Illinois, United States
I was around twenty and in college.  It was a time of darkness, depression and confusion in my life.  When I found out I was pregnant, I "heard" my mother's voice of instruction about the proper order of things (college, career, marriage, house, children).  I must have felt that the pregnancy would disappoint my parents because I didn't tell them about it until years later. I remember thinking I wished I hadn't been brought into the world so why bring someone else into the world.
I had been through a series of broken relationships.  I did not want another relationship but still wanted to have sex.  Although I had 2 or 3 partners during this time period, I was "pretty sure" who the father was. I didn't tell anyone about the pregnancy except my older sister and this young man.  I remember my sister saying my life was over... it would no longer be my own.  I realize now that is because from her perspective she had missed out on career and was raising 4 children and living a bit vicariously through me.  I remember the young man seeming relieved when I told him I wanted to get an abortion.
When I indicated I did not want to have the baby, my sister helped me call and set up the appointment at the abortion clinic in campus town.  She also advised me to drink a bottle of wine and smoke some weed to deal with cramping that I would have afterwards. She offered this advice from the perspective of having an abortion herself.
I do remember seeing the doctor, maybe a few days or a week before the procedure.  He indicated I was very early along. I wanted to schedule the procedure right away because I was afraid, if I waited, that I wouldn't go through with it. I remember the probable father went with me for the procedure but I do not remember him being in the "counseling" session with the nurse prior to the procedure.  It was during that session that I remember asking the nurse if the baby would feel anything.  She responded, "Oh, honey it's just a blood clot the size of a peanut" and assured me it wouldn't feel anything.  I found out, years later, through an exhibit at the Museum of Science and Industry that this information was not accurate.
I remember the monetary cost of the abortion was about $300 at this time.  I was not aware, until later, of the additional "cost" (psychological, physiological, etc.) of having an abortion.  The day of the procedure, the probable father and I went to the office and paid cash in advance.  It is still difficult to talk about the procedure, as it was quite traumatic.  I remember it seemed to take forever, even though it was probably all done within an hour.  I remember crying from the onset... silently at first but building to openly weeping.  I remember they couldn't get me to dilate and they were trying to calm me so they offered me some type of intravenous Valium.  I remember feeling something deep inside screaming "noooooo" but I tried to stifle it and make myself go through with the process.  Whether that cry was God, the baby or my inner self I do not know but I wish I would have listened and I wonder if they would have stopped the procedure if I had made that cry vocal.  But I did not.  So they got me dilated enough to suction out from my womb the "blood clot the size of a peanut" which would have most likely been my first born child.
After the abortion procedure was complete, I was shuffled to the recovery room.  Before long, I was at my apartment, taking my sister's advice about weed and wine.  I tried not to allow myself to feel anything and would stuff it anytime it tried to come into my thoughts.  I used lots of drugs and alcohol to numb feelings.  That led to getting mixed up with a not so great group of people and I ended up dropping out of college anyway.  I ended up moving back to my hometown and getting involved in another relationship. I tried marrying that one and when we tried to get pregnant, it never happened.  My periods were all messed up.  I kept thinking I was pregnant because I would be 2 or 3 months late on my period but tests kept coming back negative.  Doctorss tried to say it was just my body getting regulated from going off the pill but after missing period for 6 months with negative pregnancy tests, I was referred to an OB/GYN.  They diagnosed PCOS (poly cystic ovarian syndrome).  Prior to my abortion, I had never had problems with my period or experienced any of the other symptoms of PCOS that I have since become acquainted with.  My husband and I divorced. He made a baby with another woman.
During this time, God re-initiated my childhood faith and I returned to the church.  Somehow, I heard about a bible study for woman who have had an abortion being done in a town nearby and I got plugged in with this group of about 5 women, found forgiveness and began healing.  The healing process has been a long process considering the abortion was such a short procedure.  At 40, I conceived and birthed my first child.  At 42, my second child was born.  After twenty years of infertility, both children were miracles, without medical intervention for conception.  Healing is a process.
I had a miscarriage a few years ago as well.  I have noted a real difference in how people respond to miscarriage vs. abortion.  It's as if society allows women to grieve the loss of their children through miscarriage but not so with abortion.  People offer sympathy to women who have had miscarriages but not so to women who have had abortions.  While it is not deemed illegal and thereby deemed acceptable, we are not supposed to talk about it... that is deemed unacceptable and people act real uncomfortable if one acknowledges it.  At least that has been my experience and that of other women who have had an abortions that I have talked to.  It's crazy.  Society will allow you to take the life of your own child but does not allow you to grieve the loss of that child's life.  Grief is a natural response to death.
There are always days when I find myself calculating how old that child would be if he or she had lived. I would probably be a grandmother by now.  Instead, I am an old mother trying to rear young children.  I thank God for His mercy, grace and second chances.  But having the children I have now and experiencing motherhood with them makes me wonder, at times, what life and memories were missed as a result of this earlier decision.
Sin has consequences. Taking someone's life is a sin.  Forgiveness removes the guilt and shame that are natural consequences of sin. But forgiveness doesn't necessarily remove remorse.  Allowing oneself to feel remorse is actually what leads to forgiveness.  Remorse for wrongdoing keeps us humble enough to choose right-doing. I believe I have received the forgiveness I requested from God, my child and myself. But one of the consequences I have to live with is that I will always grieve the loss of the experiences of mothering that child.
Because of forgiveness, I am free to feel that grief and acknowledge the remorse of my "choice".  This acknowledgement means I no longer have to deny or hide that remorse.  It means I no longer have to deny or numb that grief.  See it is because of that forgiveness that this remorse is without shame.  I can stand forgiven, in Jesus Name!  It is because of this forgiveness that I am silent no more!
I want other women who have had abortions to experience this freedom in forgiveness.  If you have had an abortion and have not found this freedom, please seek out some help to find it. Help for healing is available! If you are pregnant and considering having an abortion, please choose life.  Even when things seem crazy, dark and dangerous in the world, life is ALWAYS the best choice!  God is good and ALL life is valuable to Him.  If you choose to value what God values, He will be faithful to provide EVERYTHING you need to walk out that choice.  Trust God.  Trust God to guide you into right choices. Trust God to provide for your needs.  Trust God to forgive, heal and restore.  Whatever is going on in your life today, trust God over it all.  God is good and loves us ALL more than we may ever be able to fully comprehend!  Trust in that LOVE!

about.
olivia elise maxwell was born in seattle washington, in october of 1984. the household included her two older fraternal twin siblings ( brother & sister ), and their family dog, max. they're a tight knit family with a lower middle class background. officially the baby of family, she was pretty much doted on by her parents and siblings. as a child, she was always considered well behaved but there was a mischievous part without a doubt. her cuteness played a factor multiple times, in getting what she wanted.
as a student from elementary to high school, she was pretty inquisitive and willing to learn. especially, if it was something that she found challenging. the perfectionist in her wanted to prove herself that she could do it. her two favorite subjects were english and music. liv was also fond of learning different languages, something that would carry on into her adulthood. athletic wise, she spent time on the cheerleader squad as a flyer.
she’s had a love for music and singing since she could first remember. she admired multiple artists and spent a great amount of time watching music videos on tv. olivia would imitate and sing songs of r&b and pop stars at any given moment, mariah carey being one of her favorites. she could be seen on family home videos, gradually progressing with her vocals, as years passed. once high school graduation became close, she knew that she wanted to pursue her chosen career. she was determined to gain the support of her parents. it would take some time for them to warm up to it ( a couple of months ), but they eventually do. however, under one condition: as long as she completed her education as planned. willing to almost do anything, she agreed to it without question.
she soon graduated from high school and decided to give a college a go, while working towards a start on her career. though she didn't see college necessary to sing, she wanted to have a back up plan in place. she knew that things didn't always plan out the way a person would like. she decided to attend ucla with major in business. if she didn't desire an career in the music industry, she could see herself going in the business direction.
time has passed and olivia is a full on college student. her time is spent for studying/classes, her social life, and a part time job in a restaurant. she's comfortable with how things are going, despite lacking a chance for her dream. however, it doesn't stop her from writing as much as possible. journaling and songwriting became a great outlet for her to express herself. she considers it soothing and it keeps her determination alive. when an opportunity arises for people to showcase their talent on campus, she decides to enter it. this was a good way to share her talent, which she was ready to do. prior to the day, she planned out her performance, with close friends willing to help out.
unbeknownst to her, in attendance of the showcase were people that worked in the music industry. her performance would be met with a warm and impressed reception from the crowd, which gave her relief. while talking with friends after the show conceded, she would be approached with a chance to reach her dreams by a music label executive. this would be the start of a career with longevity.
with her family backing her and getting close to her degree, olivia begins her journey. the studio becomes a second home to her when, she isn't completing school. she writes with a team and prepares for her debut. with direction of the music label, she works on getting her name out on a public scale. she does features for other artists and makes sure to network with the right people.
as the years go by, her vocal skills and talent is something that can't be ignored. she gains a fan base of people with admiration for her music, that continued to grow, which includes inevitable fame.
STALKING TW: in the midst of her rising star power, olivia is a pretty free woman. she's single and ready to meet someone. when she is set up on date with a seemingly decent guy, she sees it as a start of something good. after a few dates, the two are reaching a relationship and things are well....until it's not. clinginess turns to possessiveness and red flags are waving. she makes the decision to ending things early on. which immediately becomes an official problem for her. he makes a point to not leave her alone for months on end, forcing her team to get a bodyguard. this goes on for almost a year, when an incident happens, ending it for good.
following the incident, she moved on with her life as best as possible. which included therapy, boxing classes, and even a marriage. her career went on a short hiatus to prepare for a new beginning. it led to some good writing, and even better music. she has been able to reach many accolades over time that not everyone can achieve. her career is considerably a success, even though she still retains the hunger that she had from the very beginning.
being in a comfortable position of her career, she wanted to venture out of the industry for a change. with her business degree in mind, she planned to actually put it to use. she became interested in only creating things that she personally enjoyed. she co-created an accessory line ( which included sunglasses ) with a close friend, before planning for her own cosmetic brand. the idea of the brand was a result of some bad makeup throughout the early years of her career, and lack of inclusion for all skin tones. being something that she finds to be necessary and useful to other people, she put a business plan in place with the right people that could help make it a reality.
the brand would be in plans for a few years, before launching. giving that it was a big business decision, she didn't want to rush things or ruin it before it could even begin. she managed to gain enough interest for it, with playful hints and it's first promotion. it also helped that people seemed to really like her. since debut, the cosmetic brand has reached success, gaining attention from both time and forbes.
she's been in lakeview for four months, following a separation for her husband, grayson. although she doesn't have any connection to the town, she views it as somewhere that can she just breathe. where can she trade in a big city, for a small one. she originally came across it on a trip to new orleans and didn't mind coming back.
personality.
overall, olivia is seen as a sweetheart. she’s sweet yet charming, so it's not that hardto pull people in. it’s why most people tend to like her. she’s also easygoing and people don’t mind talking to her ( this includes interviews ). she can also be quite giving. she’s considerate of others and their feelings, wanting to do for them, what she would want for herself.
8/10 she’s pretty sensible. she big on making the right decisions, but no one is perfect, right?
where there’s sweet, there’s sour. she also has the ability to be resentful, which can make her brutally honest & come off as b*tchy. although she isn't someone that enjoys confrontation, she also isn't one to back down from it. she will defend herself or someone else if it feels necessary.
she also has a knack for being picky about things. she’s like a huge perfectionist with things, more specifically her jobs. she can also be very much all about herself, meaning indulgent. she’s willing to do whatever makes her happy. whether through actions or spending money.
more.
outside of working, she's big on free time. she'd rather take a break, than to overdo things.
other than writing, she also enjoys drawing. whether it’s people, views, or just random doodles.
she’s big on self care: having time to herself, getting massages, exercising, going to the salon, or getting enough sleep.
she loves both coffee and tea, though she likes coffee a little bit more.
she loves to shop. online or in a mall, it doesn’t matter. if she really wants it, then she buys it.
she’s definitely not a party animal, but she does love to have fun and drink, whether if she’s with friends or simply at home.
she can cook really well, thanks to her family. it’s something that allows her to still feel close to them, whenever she’s away from home.
she has a dog named coco that she loves dearly. like really, that’s basically her little baby.
want to make her happy? give her food. make her food. bake her her cookies.
she enjoys photography, rather it’s taking photos of her own or enjoying others. she takes plenty of friends, herself, or whenever she travels.
with a hunger for knowledge, she’s always willing to learn more, including languages. which she aims to learn more, if she can help it.

Aemonds roommates seem so fun so far😭
oh they are!! ty and barry, aemond's 2 Normal Friends from college who aren't very normal at all, are near and dear to my heart. here are some silly hcs about them <3
his first year at mac through a glitch in the system aemond is put in a four-person suite with three other guys — ty, barry, and corren. aemond is secretly nervous and doesn't want to be That person already so he doesn't ask to be moved
aemond and ty share a bedroom their first year. ty is weirded out by the prince of westeros thing for precisely one day before his extroverted nature kicks in and he becomes determined to Break Down Aemond's Walls. this is mostly done by talking at him and forcing him to discuss their music tastes (may be projecting w how i befriended my first roommate at college)
he also gets aemond into like. a series of absurd situations their first semester together that slowly but surely bond them for life, much to aemond's chagrin. honorable mentions include The Cattle Incident, the Honor Society Clam Bake Post-Game Orgy (neither of them knew this was happening), and Getting Stuck in the Hidden Tunnel Under the Forensics Building.
corren leaves halfway through their first year to pursue his career as a soundcloud rapper. they're all kind of relieved (they do not stay friends with him lmao, though they'll sometimes amicably like his posts promoting his self-published albums)
through a series of mildly unfortunate events aemond, ty, and barry all end up visiting barry's hometown in rural dragonstone their first spring break freshman year, with his old-school faith of the seven grandma and high school class of 8 people. that week aemond witnesses his first genuine exorcism
next year the three of them do not want to chance getting another corren and also don't deem anyone else worthy as a fourth roommate, so they rent a kind of shitty house off campus to live in for the next three years.
ty says he's going to build them a deck so there's, like, seven planks hammered to the side of the house for a year and a half. one day luke gets bored while he's over and starts to finish it.
on the fake beard. that's a phase barry goes through their junior year. he gets very into an astrologer with a similar look he's learning about the same semester
outside his immediate family, ty and barry were some of the first people aemond told about his and luke's baby. they're also both in the wedding party <3
they definitely visit lucemond and the baby all the time when she's born. she grows up knowing them as her uncles. :)

How did Zan and Elise find out Eric needed college help? How long has Eric been the au pair?
So, Eric really wanted to go to Duckburg U and got scholarships to afford most of his tuition, and knew his parents weren't in a position to pay for what scholarships didn't cover as well as things like a dorm. His parents had been pushing for him to start smaller at a more local school, but it didn't have the best reputation and he really didn't want to live at home. Had a little bit of fear that if he didn't leave his small town right out of high school, he'd never leave. So he lies to his parents and says that the amount of tuition that isn't covered are the only expenses, and his parents think it's low enough that they can pay for it and tell him that they can manage to pay that amount per semester.
So Eric, our smart idiot thought that he could cut costs by living in the 24 hour library on campus and use the shower at the student fitness center. He had already asked Elise if he could come do laundry for cheap at her place and store some stuff in her guest room, and she said yes, so for the first few weeks she didn't catch on. Lied and told his aunts and parents that he was in X dorm, making a whole bunch of friends, yadda yadda yadda...
All well and good. Until a baby mad scientist at Duckburg U went just an itty bit supervillain and built a doomsday device on his dorm roof in the middle of the night.
It was the same dorm that Eric claimed to be living in.
So Elise hears what's going on, because she's already on standby for medical detail when she hears exactly which dorm is currently being evacuated while the heroes duke it out with this kid, and Elise starts frantically trying to get a hold of Eric.
She gets there and starts searching through the crowd and eventually gets to someone who has a list of every kid in the dorm.
Eric's name isn't on the list.
Elise has never gone from terrified to furious so fast in her life. She knows immediately where he is, and she basically rips through the Duckburg U library looking for Eric until she finds him asleep in a study room. Drags his butt back to her house and demands he explain himself.
Eric, smart boy that he is, does.
Elise and Zan are upset and point out that he could have asked to live with them in the beginning and Eric is blown away because he legitimately didn't think about that. Storing stuff at their house, yep. Doing laundry there, yeah. But actually asking his aunts if he could live in their guest room? Never crossed his mind for a second. Eric officially moves in with them, but he insists on trying to find a job to pay for his own tuition, especially since the guilt of lying to his parents has started to set in.
Meanwhile, the B plot of this story is that the kids are still on their first adventure high and are starting to get a little rambunctious wanting to go on another one. Obviously, adventures are still happening but there's a problem of not all of Team Adventures is going to be able to go on adventures all the time to keep up with all those kids (Violet's pregnant, Huey, Gosalyn and Clara have superhero stuff, Louie's literally running a company, etc.). Elise knows about all this.
And Elise tells them she knows the perfect au pair for wrangling some adventure-seeking hellions. Eric gets paid enough to cover his tuition, books, and other expenses plus some for the rest of his academic career and gets to see the world, and the grown-ups know that there is someone designated to help them keep the kids out of trouble while they're learning to adventure. Win-win all around.

.*・。゚ ━ ( daisy ridley / cis female / she/her ) i think i just saw ASTRID BECKETT on the subway. the 29 year old EVENT PLANNER has been living on cornelia street for THREE YEARS. astrid’s friends know her to be determined, compassionate, and imaginative, but she has a reputation on cornelia street for being obsessive, stubborn, and a perfectionist. when i see astrid, i can’t help but think of strings of fairy lights, sticky notes everywhere, never a stray strand of hair out of place, faint laughter lines adorning tired eyes, and the clinking of champagne flutes ! in fact , i sometimes i think i hear NEW YEAR’S DAY when i see her walk by.
Tumblr media
THE BASICS
Full name: Astrid Fey Beckett
DOB: October 26
Zodiac: Scorpio Sun, Cancer Moon, Aquarius Rising
From Burlington, VT
SO, YOU WANT TO GET TO KNOW ASTRID...
Astrid was an only child for the first 3 years of her life. Then, along came Iris. She'll be the first to admit she wasn't thrilled about having a baby sister, but once Iris was actually around, Astrid loved her. It was like having a Baby Alive doll but even better!
The girls got closer as they grew older, Astrid preparing Iris for milestone moments in advance so they wouldn't be scary. Astrid leaving Vermont to attend college in New York was the first time in a long time that she'd ever been apart from her sister for an extended period, so she made an effort to call weekly and text constantly.
While in college, Astrid picked up a job at the campus library, mostly assisting with check-outs, booking study rooms, preparing meeting rooms, and re-shelving books.
After graduation, she transferred to an assistan librarian job with the public library system, thanks to a letter of recommendation from her former supervisor.
This bitch loves organization and solid schedules. She may need sticky note and/or phone reminders sometimes, but overall, she has her shit together.
I'LL BE CLEANIN UP BOTTLES WITH YOU ON NEW YEAR'S DAY
Welcome to Astrid's life on Cornelia Street.
After tiring of her normal routine, she transferred yet again to a new library branch, this time in Greenwich Village. Most of her friends at the time were either library patrons, former co-workers, or college friends who moved miles away.
New towns are an opportunity for new friends, right? Astrid had always been somewhat of a social butterfly, but her schedule didn't allow for much socialization outside of after-work drinks and weekend get-togethers.
Who would have guessed a New Years party would change Astrid's life? Read all about it here. New best friend and platonic soulmate, new living situation (hello, roommate!), an entire career change, etc — all because she cleaned up the remnants of the party with a stranger the morning after. Honestly, though, she couldn't be happier.
Since quitting her 9-5 and starting her new job as an event planner with [MUSE B], they've coordinated quite a few beautiful weddings. Is it a little obsessive to start planning the New Year's parties in October? Maybe, but it's one of her favorite ways to spend her birthday and it ensures her clients the best experience possible.
MISC. / OTHER
Find Astrid's stats page here.
Astrid is bisexual & biromantic.
She has a collection of flower crowns in a basket at the top of her closet that she's purchased at renaissance festivals, which she attends every year.
This bitch loves fairy lights, and has strings of them throughout her bedroom. They're also one of her favorite decoration requests from brides.
Her favorite colors are purple, rose gold, and sky blue.
Flower preferences: wisteria, baby's breath, lavender, hyacinths.
Unfortunately, all of her favorite flowers are not pet-friendly, so she's given up her dream of being a cat mom.
She collects crystals & her favorite is currently amethyst.

Duska Leone Dorschel passed away March 4, 2022, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on February 7, 1945, in Bangor, ME to Donald and Virginia McCann.
Duska is survived by her beloved husband, James Clifford Dorschel, son Corey James Dorschel (Christina), grandchildren Kylie A. Dorschel (10) and Carson J. Dorschel (8) along with many other adoring family members, forever sisters and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Noel McCann.
Although the Dorschel family lost their matriarch upon her passing, Heaven gained the most beautiful angel.  Duska was an angel among us and was surely welcomed through those pearly gates with a message of thanks for being such a good and faithful servant for our Lord.  Of all the gifts she ever blessed us with, the greatest one she left us with is knowing how solid her relationship with God was.  She shared her love of Jesus with everyone she crossed paths with.  She loved being an active member of First Baptist Church of Jacksonville.
Duska celebrated her 77th birthday on February 7, 2022.  We expected for there to be many more birthdays.  A major stroke took her from us earlier than we ever thought would happen.  Unfortunately, it was in the worst possible area of her brain that it could have been.  We are thankful for the time we were allowed with her to be able to say our goodbyes.
Duska spent her early years in Brewer, Maine and later moved to South Carolina for college, where she met the love of her life while at Bob Jones University.  After graduating from BJU, she went on to get her master’s degree from The University of North Carolina.  Jim was from Pennsylvania and has said that from the very first moment he saw her he knew that she was THE one.  She was petite and cute as a button and he a tall handsome gentleman.  They married on their college campus and later they moved to Jacksonville and ultimately settled in Fleming Island.  June 2, 2022 would have been Jim and Duska’s 50th wedding anniversary.  What a beautiful love story they share.  They traveled the world together, literally.
Duska’s degree was in Home Economics, and she had an illustrious career with the University of Florida’s IFAS program and their Extension office in Jacksonville.  She taught women across Jacksonville how to use the microwave oven and food processor and was half of the famous Duska and Tamer Britton (her best friend) duo who hosted fancy ‘Holiday Happenings’ events for the City of Jacksonville.  She met and made some of her very best and lifelong friends, her forever sisters, whom she cherished, through her career (and church).  She was a pioneer as a workingwoman and created innovative programs for the Extension office that were used state-wide.  She won many awards, received numerous letters from various mayors and ultimately retired as the Executive Director of the program.  You can read more about her amazing career in this retirement article that was in the newspaper.  https://www.jacksonville.com/story/lifestyle/food/2009/10/01/after-more-than-35-years-women-hang-up-their-aprons-at-extension-se/15971629007/
Corey is Jim and Duska’s only son and Duska was so so so very proud of him.  Corey graduated from the same college his parents did and that was a source of great pride for her.  You could also see the sheer joy on her face any chance she got to tell you about Corey and how he is an Eagle Scout.  In his younger years, she was his den leader.  Corey is an intelligent, faithful, devoted, hard-working and handsome Christian man.  All are qualities from his mom and dad.
Corey blessed his mom her most cherished gifts of her lifetime, (aside from her relationship with God), her sweet grand babies, Kylie and Carson.  Duska’s favorite title/name was Nanny.  Kylie and Carson were the apple of their Nanny’s eye.  She devoted her life to them from the time they were born…. her world revolved around them.  Nanny was their summertime caregiver and always took them on fun adventures, sent them to exciting camps and made sure they joined vacation bible school and taught them bible verses every summer.  (She even worked as a volunteer at VBS to be able to spend even more time with them.)  No greater bond could exist than the one between Nanny and her grandchildren.  Nanny is referred to in at least one out of every three stories told by Kylie and Carson.   Her legacy will live on through them because of the immeasurable impact she made on their lives in their years with her.
Corey introduced his wife, Christie, to Duska in 2019 and the two made an instant connection, they loved each other almost immediately.  Christie thanked her for raising her son to be a good, honest, faithful, and loyal Christian man.  Duska shared with Christie that she was the woman she prayed Corey would meet and marry.  It meant the world to Duska when Corey proposed to Christie at her house on her 48th wedding anniversary.
As you can see, family was incredibly important to Duska.  She was the consummate homemaker & hostess and hosted weekly family dinner nights, complete with a full place setting and a thoughtful & delicious homemade meal (usually a different meal each week, rarely the same meal twice).  She attended every school, scout, camp, sporting function she was able to.  Every Christmas, following a HUGE celebration with her grandbabies, she would serve homemade eggnog, her mother’s traditional recipe and Corey’s favorite, her homemade orange rolls.  She coordinated family picnics when the weather was beautiful and made sure every birthday was celebrated with your favorite meal and dessert.  Her cheesecakes were to die for, especially the blueberry cheesecake.
Rest In peace sweet Nanny.  You were a rare jewel, an institution, and you will be missed for the rest of our lives.  We will see you again in Heaven!
Services will be held at First Baptist Church of Jacksonville (125 West Ashley Street; Jacksonville, FL  32202) on Friday, March 11, 2022.  Visitation at 11am, funeral service at 12pm and reception at 1pm.  Funeral parking will be available along Ashley Street or in Parking Garage 1.

“Everything dies, baby that's a fact; but maybe everything that dies someday comes back.”
ADAM MANCINI
Age: 43 Gender and pronouns: Male, He/Him Occupation: Bar Owner Neighborhood: Manayunk
BIOGRAPHY
tw: death, depression
Adam Mancini was the middle child in a large Jewish-Italian family, and quite frankly he assumed he’d be lost in the shuffle for the entirety of his life. Surrounded by siblings at nearly all times, Adam quickly learned the best way to capture his family’s attention was with the jokes and bits he came up with on the fly, testing out and gauging their reactions -- the more he pushed people's buttons, the better. He didn’t intend to become the joker of the family, but it was a role that came easily and he performed well, often with the attitude that negative attention was still attention. This often came in the form of antagonizing his devout Catholic grandmother, who never gave up on trying to convert the Mancini children against their parents’ wishes -- so while his parents were dismayed that he would vex the old woman so, they couldn’t be too angry with him.
Adam was, in many senses of the term, a typical rambunctious Italian-American boy, growing up with his family in New Jersey.  His interests varied widely, jumping from one hobby to the next, moving from gymnastics to art class to soccer to calligraphy. He showed promise as a boxer, and even competed at an advanced level for his age, but quickly grew bored with it as well. He enrolled in college and ambled through several entry-level courses, hoping that with enough trying he could figure out what exactly it was he was meant to do.
His destiny revealed itself to Adam at a small off-campus bar one winter evening, when he was out with friends and saw what he could only assume was an angel at the counter. He stood, awestruck, and realization dawned on him that what he was meant to do was be with this girl. Kate was her name, and after a short introduction in which Adam fumbled through his words, he’d managed to somehow get her phone number and a promise for drinks again. This girl was his future, he knew with absolute certainty, and told his older sister as much when he called and asked for advice.
A short, whirlwind courtship with Kate passed, and within a few short months he was introducing her to his family and asking his parents how they knew they had met The One. When Kate looked at him, Adam felt like he had her full attention, like it was only the two of them in the room. He lived to make her laugh, but she could gently remind him not to take things too far. She had a way of being serious without being a downer, and was intelligent without being condescending. As Kate studied archaeology, Adam fell into an English degree, finally choosing something resembling a career path. In a year they were engaged, and married shortly after they both graduated.
Adam was over the moon, building a future with someone he loved. He had an entry-level job at a publishing house, and he and Kate were living in a tiny apartment just outside of Philadelphia, halfway between their two families. Kate was enrolling into a master’s program for archaeology and Adam took every chance he could to tell everyone he met how much of a trailblazer his wife was going to be. They returned to the bar where they first met every so often, for anniversaries, for catch-ups with friends, or because they found themselves in the area. It was their spot and was as much a part of their relationship as either one of them was.
It was on a cold winter night that Adam stood, completely awestruck, as his world changed again. Kate had been driving on an icy road, back from her evening class, when she hit black eyes and her car spiralled out of control. In a moment of confusion, at a total loss of what to do, Adam did something he hadn’t done in years – called his mother.
Deborah Mancini drove Adam to Einstein Medical Center as he stared blankly ahead, barely able to utter more than a few words. She held his hand as they walked down to the ICU ward where his young wife laid motionless on a hospital bed, surrounded by machines. She whispered comforting words in his ear when Adam sobbed over the sight of someone as vibrant as Kate reduced to the vision before him. She made the calls to Kate’s own parents, and was a source of silent strength when the doctors told them that Kate was, for all intents and purposes, brain dead.
Three agonizing days dragged on for Adam. Every detail was crystal clear. The paperwork lying on Kate’s bedside table next to flowers his oldest brother had sent. The television playing soap operas that Kate would never be able to hear again. The creaking on the chairs whenever one of them moved. On the fourth day, Kate’s parents suggested in a gentle tone that was clearly passed down to Kate, that the kindest thing to do would be to pull the plug. The fourth night Adam went home to an apartment that seemed impossibly barren.
The loneliness was unbearable, and within weeks Adam broke their lease and left behind the home he’d shared with his now deceased wife. He moved home and spent his entire bereavement leave curled up in his childhood bed, stirring only to eat or for the occasional shower. Soon, he had to return to work, and pulled himself together enough to create some semblance of functioning to avoid the concerned questions from coworkers. He stumbled through his days, barely taking notice of what was going on around him, unable to focus on anything except what he had lost.
A surprising respite came from his youngest sibling, Danny. Still much of a child himself, his outlook on life was starkly different, and his biggest concerns were how to beat the next level in Guitar Hero. Being back at home gave Adam the chance to bond with the brother had hadn’t quite gotten a chance to know, and focusing on his brother’s needs and interests gave him something to focus on aside from his own grief. Being so much older, Adam took on characteristics of both a father figure and brother, and his mentorship of Danny was a bright spot when the light had gone out in his life.
With time, Adam was able to lift the veil of depression and grief that had wrapped itself so comfortably around him. He sent an occasional phone call to Kate’s parents, to keep in touch, he pulled himself together to be more professional at his job, and had even begun to spend time with old friends again. Reuniting at their college bar, Adam was able to create more warm memories again.
An unexpected opportunity arose when he found out the bar was going to close. Under no circumstances could he lose his connection to Kate, and so Adam did something unthinkable – he offered to take over. By some combination of begging, dumb luck and a miracle, and perhaps the support of his siblings, Adam was able to buy out the business and poured everything he had into maintaining the bar. The first five years were blood, sweat, and tears, and wondering if he’d made the biggest mistake of his life, but in time he was able to pull the business into the black and maintain the place.
Now, all these years later, Adam dedicates his time to keeping the bar running and keeping Danny out of trouble. He keeps Kate’s memory alive through the business’ success, and while his life turned out nothing like he could have predicted, he’s content knowing it’s moving in the right direction.
ADAM MANCINI has the face claim of ERIC BALFOUR and is played by JAC.

A Nightmare Incarnate.
“ . . . Soaring to heaven on balanced wings, she blazed a rainbow trail 𝑏𝑒𝑛𝑒𝑎𝑡ℎ the clouds as she flew. Dionne, a glory of the sky, cloud–borne.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In the picturesque city of Dublin, precisely on January 14th 1994, the world welcomed a beautiful baby girl named Dionne Alpha Corentine. Fondly known as Dionne, she embodied a tale of resilience and the unwavering love of a daughter. Her parents were filled with immense joy and love as they held their first child in their arms.
As the firstborn daughter, Dionne was blessed with a younger sister named Delta Athanasia Corentine. Dionne's parents, Raymond Corentine and Santika Rahardja, proudly represented them a captivating tapestry of Indonesian and Ireland heritage, setting the stage for a life filled with enchantment and a deep appreciation for both her ancestral roots. Together, they formed a tight-knit family in a harmonious line.
Dionne spent her childhood in Dublin, Ireland. Her life felt perfect with her harmonious family and the city of Dublin that always amazed her. However, that happiness was short-lived as fate had other plans. When she was ten years old, her parents faced the difficult decision to part ways, leading to a significant change in her life's trajectory.
Following her parents' divorce, Dionne's mother, guided by her love and seeking for a fresh start, made the courageous decision to return to her homeland in Indonesia with Dionne and her sister. Dionne left everything behind and started a new chapter of her life in Yogyakarta.
Tumblr media
Yogyakarta became Dionne's new home, a place where she would continue her journey of self-discovery. She adapted swiftly to her new surroundings, drawing strength from the loving support of her family, and nurturing her extroverted personality by forming countless friendships.
From a young age, Dionne displayed a strong and determined spirit. She approached life with an easy-going manner and had a contagious smile that could brighten anyone's day. While she could be as stubborn as a mule, as sweet as tea, or even as angry as a hornet, her reactions were a reflection of how she was treated.
Dionne blossomed into an independent young woman, guided by the values instilled by her family. Education played a significant role in her life, and she excelled academically during her school years. In 2012, she pursued her passion for the environment and enrolled at Gadjah Mada University, majoring in Forestry. College life became one of the highlights of her journey. She approached her studies with passion and dedication, always striving for excellence. But her involvement extended beyond academics. She actively participated in various extracurricular activities, both within and outside the campus, enriching her experience and making lasting connections.
After four years of hard work and dedication, Dionne proudly earned her bachelor's degree. Eager to contribute her expertise to the field, she embarked on a career as a forestry and natural resources consultant in Jakarta. In addition to fulfilling her commitment as a consultant, Dionne also nurtured her talents in the field of arts. In her spare time, she dedicated herself to her hobby of drawing and worked as a freelance illustrator for various comic and webtoon projects.

chrissy advice please? 🥺 im in the middle of a small crisis over my career decisions, how did u choose software engineering and what is it like,, baby's first major switch and its scary
Ah okay so! I can talk about how I ended up switching majors and work and stuff.
When I was doing college apps, I wasn't totally sure what I wanted to major in. I knew I liked all of math, bio, chem, and physics, and I could kinda throw a dart at any one of them. But I was trying to think in terms of career prospects. I liked medical stuff, but didn't want to be a doctor, so I kinda bundled that in the direction of biomedical engineering and went with that in my college apps.
For a while that was my plan. The Dartmouth engineering tracks all share the same set of pre-reqs and intro-level classes before people branch off to take classes more specific to the field of engineering they're targeting. So by spring of my sophomore year I'd completed all the pre-reqs and shared-level courses and was picking out my schedule around specific upper-level bio engineering courses. (These were grad-level, technically, and needed instructor sign-off for you to enroll in the class.)
So I was just, sitting in the engineering building waiting for the professor to show up so I could request the instructor sign off to join the class. And it kind of occurred to me "hmm this is maybe my last chance to switch tracks if I want to."
I'd joked with my roommate before (chem major) frequently like "what if we both become English majors instead? Dance majors? German majors?" but only jokingly, and had stuck with biomed as a sort of "meh, why not?" and a "meh, what else?"
But since this was REALLY my last chance, I decided to pull up the engineering site's set of example major plans for the various engineering branches. I looked through like, mechanical engineering and went "meh, nah", and same for chemical engineering and civil engineering and whatever else there was.
Then I got to the example computer engineering major plan and I read through all the courses going "man I'd love to take that course if I had the free time". And when I realized I was doing that to EVERY course on the list I was like "hey wait a sec".
The general engineering track required we take a course in C, which I'd taken and really enjoyed and liked messing with in my free time. We used Matlab in various other course work and I was usually the odd man out in my friend group in that I actually LIKED using Matlab. I just, really fundamentally, liked Making Programs Do Stuff. And it really started to sink in how like, every bit of coursework where I'd happily done more with it in my own free time was all programming stuff.
I'd interned in a cancer research lab on campus my freshman summer (had a great time doing grunt work, but knew I didn't want to do what my post doc boss did as a profession). And the post doc who'd been my boss (her name was Abeer and she was great) happened to walk by at that time and asked what I was doing. So I used her as a sounding board and she helped me really solidify on the idea that this is what I wanted. It should have been obvious, but I was just so set in biomed because that's what I'd been answering with for years now.
Anyway so I kinda packed up my stuff and left the building being like "never mind I'm computer now."
This DID make me nervous in a long-run kind of way. I'd carefully planned out my major for the biomed track, and suddenly I was changing gears without a plan and I knew I was gonna be competing with people who'd taken CompSci courses since freshman year. (I'd not, at this point, even taken a real computer science course through the CompSci department, just the engineering course in C and some scattered Matlab knowledge.) But on the other hand I think this angle helped me in internship interviews by pushing the fact that I made a difficult switch because I was passionate about software. Though the imposter syndrome was a rough time.
Worked out surprisingly well. I only needed to throw my resume at two companies while seeking out an internship for the next year. And after five interviews and being flown to Washington state Microsoft said "yeah you" and I said "hooray thank you"
For industry experience, I can only really speak to Big Company experience (been working at Microsoft since I graduated). In terms of day to day, I'm very glad, and I made the right choice. The most frustrating elements come from working in a HUGE code ecosystem, where you have to be EXTREMELY diligent since any Little Whoopsie I make could bring down Microsoft Office if I'm not careful (of course, there are a lot of various fail safes and procedures around, but I would still cause a huge headache for a lot of people if I fuck something up and it drags things to a screeching halt, even if I don't break production itself).
The ramp-up is tough because there is a LOT to get under your thumb, and your skills tend to get pretty niche to serve the particular area and role your team attends to. Code writing can go very slow because it often feels like trying to work within the world's biggest jenga tower.
But as for positives: I still do feel I generally enjoy my work, even if I'm not banging out thousands of lines of code a day. I'm well-supported, well-treated, and well-compensated on a team that demonstrably supports their employees, not just in lip service. Software engineering in general is a super in-high-demand field, and once your foot is in the door it's easy to make yourself desirable. I'm not personally looking to hop jobs since I like my stability and where I am, but many other people hop jobs frequently within software since it's a way to pursue better pay.
In short: I hopped to software because I realized it was something I just genuinely enjoyed doing. (The hop did scare me because I was like "oh no im gonna be competing with Leet Gamers who've been coding since they were five". And while those people exist, they're not the majority.)
Software engineering in industry varies. If you go to a smaller company, you probably have a lot more leeway and a lot more rope to hang yourself with. So probably more fun and freedom but also way less stability and a much higher likelihood of biting off more than you can chew and not having guidance on how to actually do things well.
Big Company is sort of all that in reverse: much less freedom, much higher bar to do things correctly and air-tight, stability, a lot of more-senior engineers above you as mentors

note: part two to the college headcanons! part one can be found here! i had a lot of fun writing these and i hope everyone enjoys them :) teacher/student dynamic warning for zeke and hange's, and i guess bullying for annie's :/
𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐨 𝐠𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐫𝐝
the very definition of kind-hearted frat boy who doesn’t fit the stereotype he’s been assigned at all
starts off with accounting before realizing he hates math, moves into business management and marketing
the linkedin profile is absolutely popping, 500+ connections and details about every club and organization he’s ever been a part of
the friend that helps everyone find internships and fixes their resumes while offering helpful advice and not being condescending… anyways so that’s how you meet porco
he works at the career center 100% and does various coaching/prep help, and you, pieck’s friend, are in desperate need of an internship
so you’re complaining to your friend as usual, when she tells you to stop by the building and ask for a “pock”
so you do just that, walking in and asking for “pock” and porco is a little stunned by this pretty stranger calling him by a nickname reserved for his close friends, and even then he just barely tolerates it
but he doesn’t want to correct you, especially since you’re being so sweet and he can tell you need some help
so a meeting at the career center slowly turns into facetime calls to review applications and last-minute edits, stopping by your dorm to help you fill out paperwork and walking together to mail it out
i have a feeling porco doesn’t wanna be too forward, and he thinks he’s being very aloof and casual, when he really just seems oblivious
and you cannot tell for the life of you if he likes you or he’s just being friendly since you’re close with pieck
finally after you land the internship and won't have your normal excuse to spend time with him, you get the guts you've been searching for
you tell him about the position later in the day, stopping by the center for hopefully the last time
"by the way, my number's on my resume if you're ever gonna ask me out."
leaves pocky-boy flustered and red and scrambling to ask you out, and you have been happily dating since

oh boy
conny is a very typical college kid in the sense that he will sleep through every 8 am class he has, blow off class to go wait in line for the nacho bar, and has adopted the mantra ‘c’s get degrees’
but he is an extremely lovable education major with a focus in history
rarely seen without his shadow sasha, but now that she started dating niccolo, she thinks that conny could use a relationship too, and that it might do him some good to be with a funny, down-to-earth person
thus begins the most grueling two weeks for every girl on campus, as sasha hunts down girls that she thinks would be a good match for her best friend
this includes airdropping a photo of conny to the lecture hall with the caption “would you date this man? serious inquiries only”
creates a fake tinder complete with a google form to narrow down the options
however, none of this is necessary because sasha bumps into you in the smoothie line and causes your triple berry blend to go flying
she helps you clean up and idle conversation leads to you talking about dates and so forth
“well, i’d love to set you up with my best friend? how do you feel about a blind date?”
yes, conny met you, the love of his life, on a blind date set up by sasha with a stranger
it’s one of those funny stories that people don’t believe when you tell them, because how ridiculous is that, but you both think it’s perfect since you get along so well and it made all the waiting worth it
bonus: double dates with sasha and niccolo! fondue night at their apartment, going to the arcade and having to lug up sasha and her food baby while niccolo parks the car, just overall a grand time :)
𝐳𝐞𝐤𝐞 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐫
zeke yeager, ph.d. started his new job at university with one rule in mind: absolutely no illicit affairs
he also coaches the club baseball team, because why not get involved on your campus
he really believes that he’s gonna stick with it too, despite the overwhelming number of students who come to his office hours with questions that his less handsome teaching assistants could answer
but no, he doesn’t want to earn a reputation as that professor, and so he heads into the new semester with absolutely no lingering thoughts of an exciting little dalliance to get him through the monotonous days
he knows his huge lecture classes would always come with a few pretty students, but it’s the smaller, upper-level psych class he’s teaching when he meets you for the first time
zeke has you all figured out, or so he thinks. sitting in the front row, raising your hand for questions he wasn’t expecting anyone to actually have an answer to, neatly handwritten notes in a color-coded notebook. he wouldn’t peg you for the type to jump and take the risk by starting a relationship with a professor.
but he soon realizes that he didn’t have you as figured out as he thought he did.
you avoid the gaggle of freshmen during office hours by scheduling meetings instead, sometimes right before class, coming to him with two cups of coffee and a wide smile that actually had him fooled into thinking you were here for academic reasons
this facade quickly fades though, because after a semester of interactions with you and getting more and more comfortable with each other, to the point where coffee orders are memorized and it’s zeke rather than professor yeager, you’ve had just about enough
he knows he’s fucked when you come visit him at practice for the baseball team, bringing him a drink and engaging in conversation while the players watch their coach flirt with you
he’s especially fucked when he realizes he’s looking forward to practice just because there’s a chance you’ll stop by on your way to your next class
you submit your final paper early, nearly a week before it’s due and of course the first in the class to do so, and waltz into his office the next day with another steaming cup of his favorite drink
“you submitted your paper pretty early, you know.”
“i know. i also know that it means i’m not your student anymore, so if you were going to make a move, now’s the time.”
no, he definitely had underestimated how much he knew about you.
𝐦𝐢𝐤𝐚𝐬𝐚 𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧
mikasa is a forensic sciences major and is still debating on the minor- she’s torn between criminal justice or history like armin.
she loves her major classes, but she just wants something else interesting to look forward to as well, so armin suggests sitting in on a couple classes early in the semester and getting a taste for it.
so you don’t really think twice when she claims the empty seat next to you on the first day of classes, smiling politely and paying attention to the professor. you do notice, however, that she’s not writing anything down or looking at the syllabus, leading you to strike a conversation on why that is.
she explains herself and then before you even know it, the lecture ends and you spent the last forty minutes talking to mikasa about anything and everything.
she’s sitting in on another class tomorrow, and absent mindedly invites you to come along, to which you agree all too quickly, because why wouldn’t you
numbers are exchanged, times are fixed, and mikasa leaves wondering why she’s so excited at the idea of sitting with you in class again.
you two hate the history class she had chosen, with the professor droning on and on and you being focused entirely on the conversation you’re having with mikasa
until the professor kicks the two of you out for not shutting up, that is
you’re both laughing hysterically once you reach the hallway
“i’m gonna have to discourage you from doing that history minor if that’s what all the classes are like.”
“well, i have to do criminal justice so we can have that class together, anyways.”
𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐞 𝐥𝐞𝐨𝐧𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐭
true to form, annie goes into one of the most difficult majors: cheg. definitely flies through intro courses with straight As and minimal effort, but that’s also mostly because all she and bertholdt do is study
reiner tries his hardest to get her to go to a party every once in a while, but usually to no avail because she always has an exam to study for
you’re a tutor, and honestly, you’d say you were pretty good at your job. you can answer questions and explain reasonings fairly well to confused students. but when annie comes to your office hours with some complicated problems and she’s asking for explanations that you just don’t have, you literally feel your face burn with heat for the entirety of the time she’s there
long story short, your first encounter is embarrassing, to say the least. you’re stumbling over words as you try to look through your old notes and piece together an answer for annie, who you cannot even look in the eyes.
anyways, she leaves eventually and you want a hole to open in the ground and swallow you up, but at least she won’t be back next week, right?
wrong.
miss leonhart doesn’t know how to express her feelings any better than you, so her way of flirting is spending time with you in the tutor center as you fail to answer her questions time and time again
you want to scream at her to stop coming because she and you both know you’re not helping either of you with this
but also you really don’t want her to stop coming because you don’t have any other ways to see her outside of class
both of you reach your wit’s end on the same day, her coming to you with the absolute easiest problems she could find in the textbook, and you with every intention of asking her out to dinner
she opens her book, and you reach and close it quickly
“unless this is the only way you know how to flirt, something has to change now.”
𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐳𝐨𝐞
dr. zoë teaches, just, way too many classes
we’re talking multiple chemistry labs and upper-level research courses as well
you’re just a ph.d. student doing rotations as per usual, and you’ve heard the comments from students senior to you about dr. zoë, who makes every student in rotation say hange instead of the formal way you’re used to
you’ve heard everything from crazy to genius and everything in between
what you weren’t expecting was… so good looking, and young? and comforting? and talking about all the things that you didn’t have the guts to bring up with other people, like how you always feel a little left out in the field and that you think no one cares about your research interests that much—a lot of stuff that you find yourself pouring out to hange on your very first day in the lab
you’re wondering why it’s so easy to talk to them, and why none of the other rotations ever felt this comfortable
and then you realize you’re spilling your guts to someone who probably doesn’t even care, and has way more to deal with on their plate than a ph.d. student with imposter syndrome
so you’re apologizing right after you’ve finished, when you’re met with the warmest look and a reassuring hand on your shoulder
it’s so easy to fall after that, with weekly meetings and regular check-ins, and you know it’s wrong to have this strange crush on your superior, but hange really feels like the one person you can count on here
you hide the crush in favor of getting the mentorship you desperately think you need, but it’s not long until you’re onto the next rotation and the next lab’s work is even closer to the stuff you love
you hate the way you feel, that you’re not gonna have any reason to keep in touch and you never even got to explain how you feel about them—and that you didn’t even get to experience hange’s energy because she was always listening and helping you out
it’s not until you get a text the night before your first day in the new lab from hange, filled with reassuring words and asking for a coffee date later in the week to talk about how it goes, that you realize just how well hange understood you
𝐩𝐢𝐞𝐜𝐤 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫
last but not least, miss pieck is double majoring in french and public health
absolutely obsessed with her majors and loves the subjects, but works herself to death to keep up with it all
you don’t even realize that the pretty, studious girl you’re seeing in the library all the time is the same girl you spot with some of your friends from class
pieck is as oblivious as they come. you invite her on study dates after you two are introduced by reiner, invite her to get coffee after a particularly late night of studying, pretty much start spending most of your days together
you can’t help but be disappointed that pieck doesn’t see you in that way, because you’ve slowly been falling head over heels, but you accept that maybe it just wasn’t meant to be, and you still love the friendship you two have
it takes a while for things to click for pieck, but they do right as the semester eases up
once exams are over, you two decide to go to these famous parties porco and reiner never stop talking about
it’s not the usual scene you’re comfortable with, but what’s wrong with letting loose a little, especially after midterms? no harm in having fun, right?
wrong again! you definitely get plastered way too quickly, and eventually pieck takes you to a room to settle down
drunk confessions of love aren’t usually the way to go, but you can’t help but reveal everything you’ve been feeling for the last few months when pieck is taking care of you in your current state
you definitely wake up hungover and ignorant to last night’s shenanigans, but you’re in your dorm, with a bottle of water and ibuprofen on the nightstand, phone plugged in and shoes off
pieck comes back with breakfast, coffee and your favorite pastries, and checks up on you
“so.. about last night..”
“i’m so sorry, did i throw up on you?”
“no, but you did say you were in love with me. was that just a drunk thing, or is it a sober thing too? because i think i’m in love with you too.”

Welcome to the Industry of Porn
Paring: Avengers X Female!Reader
Warnings: +18, heavy smut, drinking, slight angst in later chapters, fluff if you squint, and my English as usual.
Word Count: 3,811.
Summary: AU where the Avengers are Pornstars. It’s pretty self-explanatory.
Chapter: 3.
Chapter Title: Shall we begin?
A/N: This part is where we get to see some more cameos baby. I swear, I still do not know what made me want to write an AU about the Avengers as pornstars, like the hell? Please, I have never not even in other fandoms seen anyone thinking about this idea which made me feel like a complete idiot at first. Now, I'm just here remembering what my seventeen-year-old self thought was somewhat cool shit. Also, let's pretend the people in the gif are actually wearing fancy gala dresses and tuxedos because I couldn't find anything.
Tumblr media
Mr. Dickenson had made it sound like heaven when he had told you about the offers that had been offered to you, but now as you read away the contracts you thought it was hell. You thought that it was going to be easy to understand guidelines and whatnot, but honestly, it felt like it was a lawyer's job to read those contracts. But Cassie helped you read them and gave you a rundown on what it said. After understanding what all three contracts entailed, Cassie and you did a deep search on the directors to see if you liked their work. Out of the three, one of them seemed to be more professional than the others. While all of them seemed like good directors neither of you could deny that the other two lacked the originality of the Russo’s. They were brothers and they seemed to have a knack for making amateur videos feel natural rather than tacky and cringe. Granted, most of the time it was because of the actors overexaggerating things, but the director could always ask to tone it down. You had only watched the amateur videos because you didn’t want to get your hopes up if you found out they worked for bigger companies. Cassie had made a face before saying that it was a ridiculous thing to do but promised you that she wasn’t going to look more things up.
After that, it wasn’t hard to make a decision, and it had only taken you the majority of the week you had been given. Cassie had told you that she had a good feeling about the Russo’s when you had asked her if you were picking the right choice. You nodded to yourself before calling Mr. Dickenson the next morning to tell him that you had opted to work with the Russo’s. He had been glad to hear the news and had told you not to sign the contract yet as you would be doing that after the meeting on Wednesday where the Russo’s were going to be meeting you. Then he reminded you about the nudes and you had almost groaned at the thought.
It was awkward. You had reminded Cassie about it, who, for some reason, was excited about it. She had rambled on about how she loved doing those types of shoots. You had forgotten that Cassie had done a project with some of the volunteers she had managed to scout around campus where they had to pose in the nude. She had done a wonderful job, but you reminded her that for the most part, they had been covering themselves with a satin sheet while you were to be completely exposed. Her spirits didn’t lower after that, and she was a sweetheart as she tried to make you comfortable to the best of her abilities. You had to admit that no matter how awkward it’d been, you felt good about yourself afterward.
By Wednesday morning you felt ready. Cassie couldn’t help but smile at the way you seemed to have a little more confidence about the opportunity you had been given by deciding to find a job in such a challenging career choice.
“Good morning, Miss Y/l/n. I’m guessing you’re here for your meeting,” greeted the secretary, Jules, as you and Cassie walked out of the elevator.
“Yes, I know we are a little early, but traffic wasn’t that bad this morning,” you said as you walked toward the comfortable chairs.
“Oh, don’t worry about that,” she said as she stood from her chair behind the counter, “come on, I’ll take you to the conference room.”
You and Cassie followed her into the room. It had a long table that could be used for a conference for more than twenty people.
“Now you wait here while I announce Mr. Dickenson of your arrival,” she said as she walked toward the door, “if you would like some light breakfast to be brought to you, just dial twenty-one and ask for the menu.”
She left after that and Cassie didn’t hesitate to grab the phone and dial the number. She ordered some fruit and waffles while you had opted to order everything that sounded good. Within ten minutes, a young man walked in with a food cart and situated it near where the coffee maker was set up. After he excused himself, you and Cassie ate in silence while you two waited for Mr. Dickenson and the Russo’s.
Five minutes after having used the restroom, the door opened to reveal Mr. Dickenson and two other men walk in.
“Good morning, ladies,” said Mr. Dickenson as he walked in. You and Cassie got up and walked toward the men as you both greeted them.
“These are Anthony and Joe Russo,” he motioned to each man as he named them. Then he motioned to you and Cassie, “and these are Y/n and her chaperone/manager, Cassie Ayers.”
“It’s a pleasure to meet you,” both men said at the same time as one went for your hand to shake while the other one went to greet Cassie, and then vice versa.
“Likewise,” you both said.
“Come on, let us begin,” said Mr. Dickenson as he motioned to the seats. Everyone sat at one end of the table, ready to get everything in motion.
“I’m guessing you’ve read the whole contract,” you nodded at Mr. Dickenson, “which means there’s nothing much to go through unless you have any concerns and/or questions.”
“No, we’re good. It was pretty understandable,” you said as you sat the big thing in front of you and on top of your nude portfolio.
“Good.”
“We’ve been looking for new faces for a couple of months now, and when Jason sent us your portfolio we knew we needed to get you before someone else did. We are glad to hear you chose us,” said the man that had been introduced as Anthony.
“I don’t know if you got around to see who are some of the people we work with, but I have a feeling that you will be scouted by someone sooner rather than later while you do the small gigs we have in mind for you,” added the man named Joe as he smiled at you.
You smiled as well as you listened to them talk. Soon the conversation revolved around what you would be making as a starting point after they had gone through your photos with you. They told you which angles seemed to be the best ones for you, and while at it, Cassie got her fair share of compliments of her work. They had told you that for any M/F shoot you would get two-hundred dollars, for F/F a total of three-hundred, and for any threesomes, it would be four-hundred, while anything more than four people would go up to five-hundred. An extra hundred would be added to anything that was considered hardcore such as bondages and anything that included unconventional kinks.
After some more talking, you signed the annual contract and celebrated your official introduction to the industry of pornography.
Two Months Later
Oddly enough, you couldn’t be happier with your life choices. Soon after having signed with the Russo’s, within a month, you had managed to work up to ten different gigs. You had finally made enough money to afford going out without having to check your bank account to see you if could afford anything. Granted, you had to make a different account as your main one was under your parent’s name and they could see anything that got deposited. You were not about to tell them that you were a pornstar as well as a college dropout.
All your gigs were pretty standard, and once in a while you got to play a younger step-sister or naughty neighbor, and there’s that one time you had gotten around to play a shy secretary for a knack of dropping pens. You found it fun to play with other people, let yourself step out from your reality, and enjoy a good fuck every so often. You had gotten lucky, you knew that, as you hadn’t had the need to fake orgasms while you did your job. But there was the occasional one after already having had one where you needed to fake it.
But after every shoot, and after getting home, you would feel like crap about everything. Cassie was getting nervous as the days flew past as midterms had come around and you knew that sooner or later the holidays would come around as well, and you would have to face your parents. Your supposed graduation was only six months away and you had yet to tell your parents about your idiotic decision to waste every cent they had spent on your education. But all that guilt would go away every time you got another gig or whenever a new package arrived. The mail person probably could recognize you at random with the number of times they’ve seen you from dropping off something you bought online.
It was a peaceful Friday afternoon when Mr. Dickenson—who you now called Jason—had called you.
“Hello?” you answered as you muted your favorite show.
“Hey, could you come to my office tomorrow morning?” he said.
“Sure, everything alright?” you asked as you walked toward the kitchen to grab a quick snack.
“Yeah, nothing to worry about. The Russo’s and I need to talk to you and Cassie about an event that is coming up. Can you be here by ten? I have to pick up my mother after that, so it’s the only time it works for me,” he said in an almost sheepish voice. You smiled.
“Sure, don’t worry about it. Cassie might ask for your head on a silver platter, but I think I can calm her down with some coffee on the way there,” you said as you threw yourself on the couch again.
“Lord,” he huffed a laugh, “alright, I’ll see you both tomorrow then.”
You both said your goodbyes before he hung up.
Cassie had groaned when you told her about the meeting, the poor girl was exhausted, and she just wanted to sleep through the weekend before the next week came. You had only offered her a sheepish smile and the promise of iced coffee. She begrudgingly accepted as she went to bed early, so she wouldn’t be snappy in the morning.
“So, this supposed to be like the Oscars but with raunchy movies?” you said as you summarized the important event the men had talked about.
“To simplify it, yes, the Adult Entertainment Expo or AEE is based on the Oscars, but we are attending the after-party only, the show itself is not that entertaining,” said Jason as he sipped his hot coffee.
“The after-party is said to be better than the Golden Globes’ one, and that comes from the mouth of big celebrities that have gone to both,” said Joe as he stirred his lukewarm tea.
“That’s why not a lot of people get the invitation to it,” added Anthony as he finished his own cup of coffee.
“So, why are we talking about this? It’s not like we were invited,” said Cassie with a confused look. Her face looking less grumpy from what you had seen when she came out of her room earlier that morning.
“Well, you two might not be, but we are, and I think it would be a great opportunity for the both of you to be exposed to the people there,” said Jason as he looked at the both of you, “that’s the best place to find connections to get great opportunities, not to mention you might become close friends with a celebrity or two.”
“Y/n, I was wondering if you would like to attend as my plus one?” asked Joe with a sweet smile.
“Of course, I would love to. It sounds fun,” you said as you chuckled.
“And would you like to be my plus one, Cassie? The food is great,” said Jason as he looked over to the redhead. She smiled and rolled her eyes at that last comment.
“Sure, but if I see one of my celebrity crushes, I’m ditching you,” she said as she gave him a wink. Everyone let out a chuckle.
The meeting ended soon after as Jason had to leave for the airport to pick up his mom. Before he had left, he had told you both that Jules would help you out with the dress shopping the next day as she knew the places to look for the best dresses. He had given no room to oppose him, and like that, you and Cassie had spent all Sunday looking for a dress to wear the approaching Friday.
It had taken you most of the late morning and afternoon to find a dress that you both felt comfortable wearing. Jules had announced that morning that Jason was paying for everything either of you bought that day which had you looking at prices more than you did it when it came to your money. You had told her that he needn’t pay for anything, but Jules had been ordered to do so, which made you roll your eyes. Sure, the three of you had become quick friends while working together, but you still felt a little weird accepting the man’s willingness to pay for everything. What if you had expensive taste? His wallet would cry.
By the end of the day, you two arrived home with more bags than you could carry. Everything was set for Friday night, even the plane tickets to Las Vegas had been taken care of. Nothing could bring your or Cassie’s spirits down, not even the stupid voicemail her ex-boyfriend had left while you two were out had killed her high spirits.
The entirety of the week that followed was spent trying to find the right makeup look and hairdo. YouTube became your best friend that week, and so did that lady that was fantastic in the arts of makeup and hair. Compared to her, you were shit, even the way you applied mascara seemed heinous compared to her expert hands.
When Friday came around, and you two were in Las Vegas after taking an early flight, you and Cassie had taken the liberty of doing a small photoshoot at the hotel room while you two waited for the limousine to arrive later that night. By ten-thirty, there was a knock on your hotel room door. When you opened the door, Jason and Joe stood there with their fancy and expensive-looking tuxedos.
“Ladies, you both look devilishly good,” said Jason with a casual smirk.
“Thank you,” you both replied as you both rolled your eyes at the man’s antics.
“You two will definitely fit in with the crowd,” added Joe as he gave both of you a sweet smile.
You both proceeded to accept the helping hands they gave you both as the men led both of you toward the elevator and down to the awaiting limousine. Anthony was waiting inside with his date, the woman had introduced herself as Sandy. She also worked for the Russo’s, but you hadn’t had the chance to work with her. She was a couple of years older than you and was nice enough to reassure both of you that everything was going to be okay and that there was nothing to worry about but the flashing of the cameras that awaited by the purple carpet.
When the car stopped, you were able to hear the muffled voices of people shouting names as they asked people to look toward them so they could get better angles. That alone had your hands going absolutely cold from anxiousness, but you had no time to panic as the door opened and Jason climbed out first as he grabbed Cassie’s shaking hand. When it was your turn, you gave a deep breath before climbing out as you tried not to flinch from the flashes.
The adrenaline you felt as you smiled at the cameras as they directed them to you and Joe was something else. You were new to this world, so it was no surprise when a couple of people asked Joe about who you were as he walked you down toward the building where the booming music was coming from.
Once inside, that adrenaline was completely different. The atmosphere was like nothing else you had ever experienced at a club. The music was good, the ambiance was comfortable, and the people looked like they had come out from magazines. As you walked down toward an open sitting area, you and Cassie couldn’t help but motion with your heads whenever either of you saw a familiar face. By the time you all had made it to an empty booth, you two had seen Chris Pine, Ryan Gosling, Megan Fox, and even Britney Spears was there.
And you both got to meet even more when some of them started to come over and greet the Russo’s like old friends as well as Jason. There had been no time to dance as the chatter had been more entertaining and so was the food, but before anyone could offer a chance to dance, a loud voice called the names of Anthony and Joe as it approached them.
“Tony Stark,” said Jason as he stood to shake the man’s hand, “I was starting to wonder where you were.”
“Couldn’t come sooner, you know with people always trying to catch a contract with me,” he said as he shook the hands of Anthony and Joe as they got up as well before offering the man a seat which he took.
As he talked about how he had almost gotten pinned down into verbally hiring someone, you had stared at the man long enough to realize that he had been the same man who Captain America had called ‘Boss’ the day Jason had decided to send out your portfolio.
“I’m guessing these two gorgeous ladies are your dates?” he said as he glanced at you both, “where is little Jules? I was hoping for that slow dance I never got last time due to the fact I couldn’t even see straight after that last tequila shot.”
“She’s with her boyfriend, they are celebrating their one-year anniversary,” said Jason as he nursed his drink. “This is Cassie, my plus one for tonight.”
Tony grabbed her hand and proceeded to plant a small kiss on the back of her hand.
“It’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance.” Cassie choked out a ‘likewise’ as she blushed three shades darker than her hair.
“And this is Y/n, my plus one, and our newest face,” added Joe as he noticed that Tony now looked at you.
He did the same thing to your hand which you had to admit was classy but because of the way he grinned, it also made the gesture naughty.
“It’s always nice to see new faces around here,” he turned to Anthony’s date, “no offense, Sandy.”
“None taken, Stark,” she said with a smirk and a roll of eyes, “did you bring someone with you or is it just you little gang of Avengers?”
“I did bring someone, actually,” he said as he turned his head back to the large crowd, “you remember my assistant, Pepper? She was talking with someone. But my ‘little gang’ as you called it is also here, but I think I lost them.”
Shortly after his response, a beautiful ginger came over to the table with a smile as she called Tony’s name.
“There you are,” she said as she grabbed Tony’s arm, “sorry for interrupting, I just needed breather from that crowd.”
“We were actually just talking about you, Pepper,” said Anthony as he offered some nuts to the woman which she happily took. But before the conversation could start back up, another voice called out the man with the oddly attractive facial hair.
“Tony!” called out a brunet man. Your eyes noticed how his left hand was covered by a leather glove. “We’ve been looking for you. This place can really be a maze when you’re trying to avoid people.”
Just as his face became clearer in the dark place, you noticed how behind him followed two other people. You and Cassie looked at one another as you both recognized the three people who had just arrived at your spacious booth.
“Looks like I was not the only one trying to avoid somebody,” said Tony with a guilty-ish grin.
“You would try to make a fast escape if those two girls from Brazzers were trying to talk your ear off about working with you,” he shivered as if he remembered something he hadn’t wanted to remember, “I’ve done my fair share of questionable acts for the camera, but last year they talked my ear long enough about things that still haunts my dreams.”
“Yikes,” said Tony as he moved to make more room for the three new individuals. “Well, guys and gals, you already know Jason, the Russo’s, and dear old Sandy, but these two beauties are Cassie and Y/n.”
The woman named Pepper introduced herself with a graceful smile while she sneakily pinched Tony’s arm due to his comment that he couldn’t help from making about how lucky Joe and Jason had gotten for the night.
“Hi, the name is James Barnes,” said the brunet man as he leaned over to shake a hand which oddly enough turned out to be a light kiss on the back of both your and Cassie’s hands, “Nice meeting you, ladies.”
“I’m Natasha,” said the woman who had arrived right after James had, “don’t let his suave nature confuse you, he’s an ass.”
The man grunted something as he ate a peanut. Natasha only gave him a side smirk before continuing.
“And this mass of muscles is Steve.” She motioned to the man that couldn’t look more out of place. He seemed to be at ease but whenever he glanced at the crowd, his eyes would widen as if he was freaking out. He gave both of you a sweet smile and he gave a nod along with a soft ‘pleasure to meet you both'.
You and Cassie tried your best to act cool and collected as you both got around answering questions about how you two found yourselves there. It seemed they weren’t used to seeing brand new faces that they saw themselves trying to actually converse with, so the night ended up being full of chatter, laughter, and creating memories.
Who knew that Jason would be right? That night in Las Vegas would bring opportunities for you and Cassie, and for the first time, the saying ‘what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas’ would not apply to either of you.
If you want to be added, please let me know!

so, I was watching the video that came out today and I was thinking about a age gap seb x reader around his friends like Jessica or maybe chace? And they're just hanging out and they both have this lovesick look on their faces and when she leaves the room for some reason they don't waste any time addressing how in love she is with him, and sebs glad bc they were kinda wary of her at first?
Hiyaaa babes! This is my first request so woohoo🥳 Since you mentioned the video, I literally thought of the pictures that were released while they were filming 355, and now I can’t get the image of Seb in Paris because holy shit he looked good. So I’m gonna be using Jessica❤️
- This came out so long, I’m a sucker for background info and can’t get past writing a story without one💀 Enjoy!💜
💌.
Lovesick
You and Sebastian were unexpected. Literally the chances of you guys getting together were so off and you guys were at different times of your lives. He was in his late 30s, already living most of his life as a successful actor. While you were in your early 20s still in college working on your doctoral degree to become a Pharmacist (It was the only major I could think of atm because it’s the one I’m planing on lol.) You guys met at the cafe near your campus. You always went there every morning and would spot him drinking his morning coffee with his nose stuck in a new script he was reading. You two would sneak glances at each other, admiring each other from afar. Until one day when the cafe was fairly packed and you needed a place to sit. You spotted his familiar face and asked him if you could sit in the seat across from him. Obviously he agreed and you guys talked, getting to know each other the whole time. When it was time for you to leave for classes, you guys exchanged numbers and kept in touch.
Which brings us to today. You and Sebastian have been going strong for about a year now and were approaching your second year together. Though you two are as happy as can be and are still in the honeymoon phase (even after a year), the first few months of the relationship were quite rough. There was an obvious age gap between you two, it didn’t bother you two as much, but the public didn’t react too nicely about it. Your parents weren’t too fond of the idea of you dating an older man, but after getting to know him they knew his intentions with you were well. Same goes for your friends and family. When it came to his fans and the media finding about your relationship, that’s when it went to shit.
The media made Sebastian look like some creep who was going through a midlife crisis for dating someone much younger than him. A few “fans” even claimed that he were a “groomer” after pictures of you and him heavily making out on the street were released. These issues caused some bumps in the road for your relationship, though after many arguments, you two realized that the only opinions that mattered were each other’s.
Now you two were staying at a hotel in Paris. Sebastian was currently working on a big project, “The 355”, something he was very excited about. This was one of the first projects that he was really involved in, from script to screen, he played a pretty big role in this project.
You were typing up a report for your class when Sebastian entered the hotel room. He was still in his set clothes, a light blue shirt, dark jeans, and a pair of Chelsea boots. He approached the bed where you were typing and pressed a kiss to your temple.
“Hey sweetheart, how’s school going?” He greeted you as he settled himself on the bed, laying on his side.
“Meh, it’s going...but I finished my report on time. Now I just need to proofread it.” You smiled as you finished typing the last sentence of your report. When Sebastian discovered he was going to film in Paris, he immediately told you, knowing you’ve been dreaming of visiting Paris. Luckily for the both of you, your school allowed you to do online learning (it probably doesn’t work like that but just go with it) and you were able to tag along with him.
“I’m sure it’s prefect, you’re a great writer.” He complimented, you hummed in response. Turning to him you run your hand through his short hair making him lean into your touch. You loved his fluffy hair but the short hair was starting to grow on you.
Sebastian turned his head and pressed a kiss into your palm, stormy eyes gazing up at you.
“How has your day been?” You asked.
“It was good. We got through a good amount of scenes without messing up, so I’d say it was a successful day.” He answered. You smiled at his enthusiasm. Sebastian’s face always lit up when he was talking about a project and it was one of the things you admired most about him, his passion for his work.
“So, you’ve been cooped up in this damn hotel all day. Why don’t you come to dinner with me and the cast tonight? You’ve been waiting to visit Paris all your life and you haven’t even been outside this hotel for days.” He suggested. It was true, you haven’t done much but do school work, order room service, and binge watch shows on Netflix.
“Are you sure they’d want me to come? I might be intruding.” Honestly you were nervous to meet the rest of the cast. You’ve met Jessica a few times but they were brief and she seemed like she didn’t like you. Though that could just be your thoughts making you paranoid, you were still nervous to meet the people Seb worked with. You didn’t want them to think you were using him for money or to travel around the world because you weren’t. You loved Sebastian for himself, not the money and the fame, you could care less about all that.
But they were still Sebastian’s friends and you wanted to have a good first impression on them. You didn’t want them to think you were just some immature college girl who needed money to pay off her college funds.
Noticing you were drifting off, Sebastian pressed another kiss into your palm and grasps it. “You wouldn’t be intruding, Jessica actually suggested you come along.” He mentioned.
“Are you sure?”
“Positive, baby. Come on, let’s put this stuff away and get ready. We’re having dinner at the Eiffel Tower.”
“I— the Eiffel Tower?”
To say you were intimidated and scared shitless was an understatement. Here you were in the Eiffel Tower having dinner with some of the most talented women in Hollywood. Like seriously Jessica Chastain, Lupita Nyong’o, Penélope Cruz, and Diane Kruger. Of course Seb and Édgar Ramírez where there as well. Then there was you, NYC local college student. You didn’t wanna say you felt out of place, but you did. These were successful people who probably starred in some of the movies you watched growing up. Now you’re literally in the Eiffel fucking Tower having dinner with them.
Dinner was going smoothly, everyone was talking about the set, shared some funny stories, and you were keeping to yourself simply eating your steak. That was until the attention was brought to you.
“So (y/n), Sebastian mentioned you were in college, what are you studying?” Jessica asked. Everyone turned to you and you swear you felt like a deer in headlights. Seb nudged your thigh with his, a reassuring smile on his face.
“Yes I am! I’m actually taking a PharmD program at St. John Fisher to become a Pharmacist.” you answered.
“For your masters?” She followed up curiously, slightly leaning forward to you.
“No, for my doctoral degree.” You corrected her proudly. You didn’t want to come off as an ass, but you were proud of your work and you worked your ass off for it.
Everyone at the table was taken back by your response. Except Sebastian, who had a just as proud smile on his face. They knew you were in college but not studying something as serious as Pharmacy.
“St.John Fisher College? I had a cousin that went there, it’s a great college.” Lupita was the first to break the silence.
“So are you working in the field yet? For some experience?” Penélope chimed in. Sebastian snorted, “Oh she has experience, trust me.”
You chuckled as you softly smacked Seb’s bicep, “Well currently, I’m interning as a Pharmacy Tech at a hospital pharmacy. They’re thinking about making me a permanent one until I graduate so fingers crossed!”
As you answered all their questions about your personal life and your major, Sebastian couldn’t help but just admire you. Just like how you admired the way he talked about his projects, he admired the way you got lost in rambling about your soon career. The way your eyes lit up, how your hands moved while you talked, and that hint of a smile on your face. He absolutely adored every single thing about you.
Dinner continued, the last question for you about why you chose to do college in New York, which segwayed into a conversation about— well New York. As the others talked about their love for the city, Sebastian wrapped his arm around your shoulders. Your back was now pressed to his chest, both of you not listening to the conversation. You pressed a kiss to his arm and looked back at him.
“Hey you.” You hummed at him rubbing your thumb along his arm.
“Hi.” He gazed down at you with that smile that made his eyes crinkle. The moment was interrupted by your phone ringing. Quickly glancing at the contact ID, it was the hospital pharmacy you interned for.
“You should take that.” Seb whispered into your ear.
“No, Seb that’s rude. We’re at dinner, I’m sure it can wait.”
“I have a good feeling about this call, draga mea.” He coaxed you. Having a feeling that he might be right you excuse yourself from the table. When you’re gone the table goes quiet.
“Sebastian, you’ve got one hell of a girlfriend.” Penélope stated as the rest of the table agreed.
“She’s so smart! What the hell, a doctoral degree? Kudos to her because the amount of motivation I would need to even try!” Jessica followed up with an amazed look on her face.
“I think you guys are forgetting to mention how whipped they both are for each other! Those two were in their own world over there!” Lupita pointed out. The whole table laughed as Sebastian was turning red. Of course he was whipped, he knew he was.
“I love her guys, she’s, she’s something else. The spunk she has, her intelligence, she’s-,” Sebastian began to list but was cut off by Édgar, “Out of your league?”
The whole table burst into laughter as they agreed with Édgar. You were also coming back to the table after your call. Sebastian spotted you, eyes connecting to yours immediately.
“Everything alright?”
“They gave me the permanent job!”
