I keep having weird thoughts about this topic thanks to some voice line I heard before like-

On the other hand, Floyd would either go “lol sure” or “can ghosts eat tokoyaki-?” kind of chaotic response before gladly accepting-

Which leads to Jade mentally contemplating if he should stop Floyd from becoming a ghost or be a ghost too if Floyd wants to be a ghost- (kinda like the ‘if Floyd falls then I’ll fall too’ twin situation hhhh-)

If the ghost transformation only lasts temporarily before going back to normal, then Jade won’t have to worry much about it if that’s the case,,,, 🤭😅

BUT …. gasp ………. little ari came face to face w a bunch of cows . up on the hill. right by the fence. they were eating the grass and i was scared bc they were fucking HUGE mickey :((( i was shaking n shivering and trying to blend in w my surroundings……… carefully making my way towards the fence that they were kinda blocking.

BUT THEN …. another gasp….. suddenly i was face to face w this One cow/bull and it just stared at me. for a couple seconds. and then it ran right towards me and my childhood instincts kicked in …. so i like. ran down the hill and then back up so i could jump over the fence . and then i was ok :) but ever since that fateful day i’ve been scared of cows….. i can only admire them from afar 😔😔😔😔

Episode 1: Seeing Ash after watching Horizons. My heart wasn’t ready for this y’all. Even the narrator is gonna make me cry hhhh 🥺. Looking back, I do love seeing Pikachu’s past but at the same time, was it really that… necessary? It didn’t add that much but maybe that’s just me. It’s still cute seeing him as a Pichu regardless. Now the journey starts today is an absolute banger. This song doesn’t get enough credit and I’m tired of not seeing any love for it. Kangaskhan feeding Pichu the Oran berry. Cuteness overload. The whole Delia scene of her patting Pikachu hits different when you realize that’s what Kangaskhan did to help Pichu sleep. I think a lot of people forget that Ash and Serena didn’t attend the same camp. Goh and Chloe went first and the next time, Ash went and encountered Serena. It’s weird that younger Goh has the same voice as older Goh. Doesn’t match his age and it’s throwing me off. At least Chloe sounds a bit younger. I hope this rewatch will help me understand Goh but at the moment, I’m still not that big on him, sorry. I love Chloe’s sass. Wish we got to see her sass alongside Serena’s. Also I’m sorry but I’m just gonna stay it. Goh and Chloe = Childhood friends. Ash and Serena =/= childhood friends. We only knew one confirmed encounter Ash and Serena had which we see multiple instances of Goh and Chloe interacting when they were younger. So realistically, a childhood encounter best fits Ash and Serena. Plus I feel Ash probably would’ve remembered a childhood friend right away but Serena was more of a stranger(not trying to start a war, it’s just a personal irk of mine when people say Ash and Serena had a past like Goh and Chloe when that’s pretty clearly not the case ^^;). Kinda wish that since Journeys was Ash and Pikachu’s last series, that they would give us a Pikachu and Kangaskhan reunion. One of the ones most needed alongside Ambipom. Like imagine during the last episode of MPM, they encounter the Kangaskhan and their journey in a way ended where it began. That would be an emotional fanfic(someone make it happen! 😭). I love seeing the same scene from I choose you. I think this episode really gave a lot of hints that it was the last for Ash and Pikachu. Pikachu backstory, callback to the beginning and even showing a scene similar to their very last.

Episode 2: Pikachu trying to wake Ash by slapping and electrocuting him is a mood. Something I think pet owners can relate to. One of my dogs barks at me while the other will rub his scent all over you and the bed, attack you with kisses and sometimes scratch the hell out of your head. Delia getting excited over seeing the shops. Imagine a shopping spree between her and the Pokegirls(especially the ones who love to shop). YAMPER. Boy I sure do hope it doesn’t get pushed aside and forgotten about for episodes at a time. Chloe just walking past Ash dead on the stairs. That’s a mood too. Oh and yes, we stan Chloe here. Yes she had wasted potential but I still enjoyed her. And yes again that includes Eevee and the eeveelution focused episodes. Who would win a sass off, Misty, Iris, Serena or Chloe? How can they predict a super rare Pokemon showing up?? Like what? XD. Psyduck showing up and just staring at Goh makes me smile every time. I’ve really grown to love Psyduck. Think it’s time I got a plushie of him. If I remember correctly, doesn’t Lugia end up being revealed as Mew? Do you think Lugia is a Satogou shipper? Random question but Pokémon do seem to ship people. Rainbow scene with Ash and Goh!! I may not be that big on Goh but I can’t deny how great of a ship Ash x Goh is. They got some crazy hints. I think Goh blushes at Ash just as much as Serena did. Aw Horsea! I don’t bring up Horsea enough. I’m actually a fan of the Pokemon. Have been since watching Misty’s Horsea as a kid. Ash being annoyed with his mom XD. If Goh did pick a Kanto starter, who do you think he would choose? I could see him being a Squirtle person tbh

~ I wanted.. something big on here. I don't necessarily have a desired order for this to be played in, but this was the last one I added, if that tells you anything. The opening of this song is a little jarring, but the piano is so. beautiful. Son Lux has such a way of composing their music that just leaves me breathless and astounded at the feelings music can bring forward in me, and speaking in Dream terms, I feel like that would be the kind of song he really appreciates. I'm not gonna end this with rambling about the complexity of human emotion, because I don't believe tumblr could handle me doing that - operation-wise, i feel like it's abt to stab me as is- It's also not why I'm here lol. "I will break with you. For your body to be freed and pleased. Take the weight of you, for your gravity to be erased." the rest of that line literally mentions a phantom muse.. I think, viewing this in terms of Morpheus' marriage, and maybe even how he thinks about marriage as a concept is interesting. On Genius they mention that on a Son Lux insta story they talked about the first half of the song being about helping a friend die, and the second half about the birth of Ryan Lott's son. Looking at in that framing is also,,, WHEW.. okay this paragraph has been long enough lmao

just finished watching sonic prime so why not share my thoughts on it? before i start rambling, i suggest you go watch it on netflix, it definitely deserves a watch.

Technicalities first (if i can call them that). So, judging as a viewer and not as a sophisticated critic who has read cinemtaography books, I’d say the show’s direction overall is pretty good. It’s nothing special but it’s pleasing and keeps you interested. The direction, the angles, the camera changes regarding placement and focus are well coordinated with the writing and each emotion each scene tries to convey. So, really, nothing new (i wasnt expecting a sonic show to make groundbreaking ways of storytelling through cinematography), but I believe it is worth mentioning because it plays a huge role on how one views the show. And there were many moments where I realized that a certain angle made the scene look more tense for example.

Animation! I think we all liked the bouncy styled animation, contrasting the hugely popular disney/pixar styled animation (which is good, dont get me wrong, but the animation tecnhique used in prime fits sonic a lot more imo). Also, the facial expressions are part of what made the show so great and enjoyable and I love how much emphasis they put on them, literally perfect. The details in animation, like the animalistic behaviours of sonic and co. and how they were depicted (ears twitching for example) are all very important and im glad they were implemented. And, I know a lot of us are focused on the facial expressions but we shouldnt forget abt the background as well. There definitely was attention to detail, details that were everywhere and completed the overall image of the show.

Music! the music is good what do you expect me to say like, oh that major g in the pirate scene made the scene look more tense but if it was a minor f it would make it a bit more sad and thus more fitting- no. the music was good. not surprised and props to everyone who worked on the music but i just dont think theres anything to add LOL.

Voice acting! Voice directing-wise? Really REALLY good, i wasnt expecting great performances but i was proved wrong and im happy about that. Now, for the main cast seperately? Devon has done an EXCELLENT job with his lines. His sonic voice is a combination of Roger Craig Smith and Ben Schwartz i believe but it’s also unique and very fitting for sonic, despite me not liking it at first. Brian as Eggman is meh for me, very good voice acting skills but i didnt like it that much. Ashleigh as Tails fit surprisingly well and idk why. Kazumi for rouge was a really good one, bringing rouge back to her sa2/heroes era and not the overly sexy and seducing voice she has in the games (i know its abt voice direction as well but yeah). big is meh, i dont like it. knuckles is pretty good tbh. and now, shadow the hedgehog. yes. ian did an excellent job voicing shadow and i LOVE LOVE LOVE his voice in prime, makes he’d sound like that in the games as well. i’ll stop now or i’ll start fangirling. 

Characters! I like the characters and sonic’s crew. the way the show’s written so far though has made me care about the post-apocalypse characters more than the other shatterverses. like, i like them all, yeah, but i care more about nine and knucks and rebel. maybe that was the point. also,HHHH WHY NOT BLAZE? why not silver? hoping to see them soon but PIRATE WORLD? there was a purple cat and a brown raccoon there but it wasnt blaze and marine. lost opportunity. (and rouge should have been the captain in the pirate one fr fr)

And finally, writing. I’ve seen a lot of opinions these days. Here’s mine. Good characterisation. Yes, it might surprise you but the characterisation is actually good. for every character. including sonic. maybe in a different post i could talk about every character but for now, i wanna talk abt sonic. bouncy, energetic, talkative, honest, lively, adhd coded, cheesy sometimes, reckless, extroverted who wants to work on his own from time to time. this is actually sonic. someone who loves his friends but doesnt listen to them cuz he has no patience. someone who conveys his emotions with actions and puts words aside. someone who likes to lay back once in a while, but not when the whole world is broken to pieces. someone who wants to save everyone, puts everyone above him and his needs. someone who cant stop talking, making witty remarks and jokes despite the given situation cuz he never gives up and is always hopeful and optimistic. frontiers gave us a different view of sonic’s character but it’s a very different situation as well. yet, if you carefully compare the two, you’d see how much things they have in common and how prime! sonic is very well written. 

overall writing is okay. characterisation is very good, interactions between characters are very good but some could have been better(some moments were too short for my liking), easter eggs, there are many and are greatly appreciated, many details, the recap of the prev episodes was really funny and clever but I feel like we were deprived of some great opportunities. like, eggman nega with eggman instead of the chaos council. thats just an example. and im not too salty abt it cuz it’s mainly a kids show and it shows. im glad that its enjoyable for adults like me as well though.

finally, here it is! sorry it’s a day or so late hhhh y’all know i can’t keep to a schedule to save my life! this is just the department store scene (for those who have seen the movie). i’m using a screenplay pdf for referencing if anyone wants the link i’m happy to share.

dahyun still isn’t quite comfortable with her job in the department store.

in theory, it’s pretty straightforward. be pleasant, say hello, ask how people are, ring their items up, ask if them want things gift wrapped. help people who are looking for something specific — always the baby dolls — and direct them around the store. wear the silly little santa hat she’s supposed to.

days are long, boring. dahyun grows restless. it’s hard to not, really. she watches all the wealthy families bustling around, looking at things. the gentle hum of christmas tunes plays overhead. a young child is crying distantly. dahyun almost wants to go over, say something, but she doesn’t. she can’t leave the counter she’s been assigned to man.

as her eyes wander around the packed full department store floor, they linger momentarily on a customer who seems to stand out more vibrantly than the rest. she’s beautiful, expertly styled, curled platinum hair under a cute little red cap, a fur coat draped around her shoulders, leather gloves in hand, perfectly manicured fingers fiddling with the train set just across the store. dahyun feels a warmth spreading up through her just watching the older woman exist — she’s mesmerizing, like there’s a spell about her that’s captured dahyun’s attention and won’t let it go.

for a split second, the woman glances up, catching dahyun’s eye. her cheeks warm, a bashful smile spreading on her lips, worried she looks silly in her santa hat.

“where’s the ladies’ room, honey?”

dahyun jumps a little, drawn from her trance watching the older woman, who has now disappeared as she tries to glance around the mother in front of her, child at her side. she hums disappointedly under her breath, sad that she’s lost sight of the blonde lady who has captured her attention.

“to the left, past the men’s shoes, then right at the tie racks,” dahyun says back obediently, sending the mother on her way towards the lavatories.

back to boring nothingness. dahyun sighs, tucking her hair behind her ears, adjusting her santa hat. she contemplates snagging her book up and trying to read just a couple pages, but decided against it. her manager would flip if she saw, and besides, they’re too busy right now for her to get away with much of anything but standing here and waiting.

suddenly, a pair of black leather gloves are set on her counter. dahyun peeks up, stunned to see the beautiful blonde woman she met eyes with across the store standing right in front of her. she’s even more tantalizing up close; a delicate, silk scarf in a shade of light emerald green adorns her neck, earrings that might look gaudy on someone else but compliment her stunning hair just right, lips curved in a sweet smile.

“i’m looking for a doll,” she says, voice smooth and silken, like that certainly expensive scarf. dahyun wants to drown in it. “she’s about…” the woman gestures, red nails catching dahyun’s eye again. “this high and this wide, and…” she pauses, as if contemplating. “let’s begin again, shall we?” dahyun is stunned to absolute silence, feeling like she’s forgotten completely how to speak or do anything human in the presence of this goddess of a woman. “i wonder if you might help me find this doll for my daughter.” she slides a slip of paper across the counter.

dahyun nods knowingly as she glances at it — the most popular doll of the season. “bright betsy. she cries,” she supplies, the woman humming as she listens.

“oh does she?” her honey sweet voice comes in reply, and it sends a tickling flame all up dahyun’s skin.

“and wets herself,” dahyun adds on with a sigh. “but we’re out of stock.”

the woman sighs heavily, a dark expression falling over her eyes. dahyun hates to see her looking so solemn now. “i’ve left it too long,” she murmurs, reaching to rifle through the contents of her purse.

“we have plenty of other dolls!” dahyun tries to mend the situation instantly, wanting the woman to smile again. “all kinds, um…”

she pauses when the woman looks up at her through her eyelashes, a hand still in her purse. “right,” she says softly. “what was your favorite doll when you were four? do you remember?”

dahyun is taken aback by the question entirely. she sputters a little, finally replying, “me? i never…” she shrugs awkwardly. “not many, to be honest.” another hum from the older woman as she begins to bring a cigarette up to her lips, about to light it. apologetically, dahyun says, “sorry, no smoking on the sales floor.”

“oh of all the—” the woman pauses, collecting herself. “forgive me. shopping makes me nervous.”

dahyun tries to smile. “that’s alright, working here makes me nervous.” she feels glee rushing through her when it makes the woman laugh.

“you’re very kind,” she says with a warm smile on her lips. suddenly, she rummages through her purse again, pulling out a picture of what is presumably her daughter, sliding it across the counter to dahyun.

“she looks like you,” dahyun murmurs, looking the picture over. it’s true — at four, the little brunette girl is a spitting image of her mother. “around the mouth, the eyes.”

“you think so?” the woman beams, looking at dahyun intently. dahyun feels a bit shy under the intense gaze, heart thumping wildly in her chest. she can’t understand what’s making her so nervous this woman, she’s far nicer than most clients she’s dealt with this holiday season. “so what did you want? when you were four?” the woman prompts suddenly.

dahyun’s eyes widen a little, feeling embarassed at her fluttering stomach and rosy cheeks. “a train set,” she says definitively.

“really. that’s a surprise,” the woman says with a lilt of playful, good natured teasing to her voice. “do you know much about train sets?”

dahyun launches into an explanation giddily. “i do actually. and there’s a new model, just in last week. hand-built with hand-painted cars. it’s a limited edition of five thousand, with the most sophisticated electric switching system. it’s quite…” she pauses suddenly, feeling overwhelmed by her own burst of enthusiasm with the woman watching her so intensely. quelling her excitement, she continues, “you may have seen it. over by the elevators? just there…”

the woman’s eyes gleam as she turns to look, nodding appreciatively at dahyun’s description. “do you ship?” she asks, and dahyun smiles again shyly.

“special delivery, or courier. you’ll have it in two, three days,” dahyun explains. “two days,” she corrects suddenly. “we’ll even assemble it for you!” she isn’t sure why, she just desperately wants to impress this woman. and she never wants this encounter to end; she feels special under the older woman’s gaze, no longer just boring old dahyun. someone worth capturing this beauty’s attention.

“well, that’s…that. sold!” the woman grins slyly, like they’re in on something together. dahyun smiles back, and they stand there just looking at one another for several moments. “shall i pay now?” she says then, dahyun quickly pulling herself back to reality.

“oh, oh, yes! of course…” she says sheepishly, though the woman doesn’t seem to mind in the slightest her lapse in remembrance. “we’ll need your account details, your shipping address,” she reams off.

“of course,” the woman murmurs, pulling out a pen to begin writing her information. “i love christmas,” she sighs suddenly. “at least i love the preparation. wrapping gifts, all that…” she trails off as she focuses on writing for a second. “and then, you somehow wind up overcooking the turkey anyway.” she laughs a bit as if to herself, dahyun just pleased to continue listening to her talk all day long. “done!” she slides the slip and pen back over to dahyun. “where’d you learn so much about train sets anyway?”

“i read,” dahyun says in a confessional sort of voice. “too much, probably.” her throat flutters nervously, like she’s saying too much.

“it’s refreshing,” the woman says as if to reassure her. “thank you. and merry christmas.”

“merry christmas,” dahyun murmurs back, feeling heartbroken the woman is leaving already.

the older woman leaves then, a smile still on her pretty, full lips as she strides away confidently. dahyun watches her go, heart squeezing painfully inside her chest, wanting to call out, bring the woman back, ask her something else, anything else just to hear her mesmerizing voice again, be able to keep looking at her, feeling as if she knows her somehow.

as if she knew dahyun was thinking of her, she turns back, a playful smile on her lips when she says, “i like the hat,” gesturing to her head.

dahyun grins, bashful, watching the woman continue her path away to the elevators. she glances back down at her counter, eyes widening when she realizes — the black leather gloves are still there. despite her best efforts, dahyun can’t spot the woman again, seeing she’s truly left already. she’ll have to return the gloves to her, to…

her eyes drift to the shipping slip in her hand, searching for the woman’s name.

Besides being a Sentinel, he also can work as a Controller Main(Omen, Harbor, or Viper)just so he can protect and hide teammates from enemies just like his ability X’D.

Willing to experiment with agent gameplays a lot with Rosalyn, even switching their mains,,,, which leads to chaotic moments. Kitty finds that out and joins the shenanigans, switching agents between each other becomes a formula of disaster…. 😅🤣

Doesn’t like Chamber’s guts, but Angel is surprisingly good at playing as that agent whom teleports as an ability along with bearing a nice sheriff. Bonus points of having a sniper weapon as Ult-

So good at using operator in later rounds, it gets scary…

Oh, sure! I think you did ask and I forgot to answer.

Basically, 'show' means 'relate sensory details to the audience and let them draw their own conclusions based on context and connotation.'

'Tell' means 'directly communicate the conclusions you, as the author, want the audience to reach.'

So, a 'show' example might be, like:

Her heart raced, the heat of blood pounding through her body and settling mostly in her cheeks and ears, blotting out the sound of the audience's jeering.

Whereas, a 'tell' example might be:

She bombed, spectacularly. It was utterly humiliating. The audience was booing and hissing even as she blushed and began to panic.

So, as you can see, in the first one it's pretty obviously implied that our mystery woman is embarrassed (cheeks flushed) and panicky (loss of hearing). In the second, it's stated outright.

'Show' tends to be more intimate, allowing the reader to more completely project on the character. 'Tell' tends to be more expedient, communicating a lot of information very concisely.

For me, 'tell' also lets me use a more exagerrated narrative voice, where the narrator expresses their own opinions and style of speech independent of the characters'. This woman didn't just embarrass herself, according to the narrator she 'bombed, spectacularly.' She's 'utterly humiliated.'

If you're using a lot of adjectives, you're probably closer to 'tell' than 'show.' Not always, obvs, but it's a useful rule of thumb.

Since I enjoy exagerrated character voices, and often write single-character pieces, it's fun for me to write things in the 'style' of the character, expressing their opinions in the narration.

So, I do a lot more 'tell' and a lot less 'show.'

Unfortunately, 'tell' tends to fail when one is writing action scenes (including sex), so if you're getting stuck on something like that, try dialling in deeper on specific physical and sensory details the characters might be feeling!

"...fine..." She relented. The woman took a couple steps closer, poking his chest with a finger. "Five minutes."

Peter and Tobias both nodded obediently. Toby held his dictophone tight, almost shivering with excitement.

"And you're running to Wyoming," she added, another firm warning to the hero.

"Yes, ma'am!" He confirmed, giving her a goofy salute.

Peter nodded obediently, a grin spreading across his lips. He gave her an incredibly fast peck on the cheek.

"Great!" He said, grinning wide. "Thanks, Goldie."

The blonde sighed deeply, rolling her eyes at him. She huffed as she started walking off, holding up her middle finger as she marched away from him.

"You're still an asshole, Maximoff!" She called back. "If you need me, I'll be back in the jet with Powderpuff."

As she walked away, Tobias turned to the hero.
