Day 36- Necluda Depths
(The Skulltalos is a fan made boss monster designed by yours truly, because the lack of variety in the Depths saddens me.)
The depths are chock full of botanical wonders and amazing beasts! Sometimes too amazing. The Yiga clan and our two heroes may absolutely loathe each other, but the giant spiders really put your priorities back in order.
(This totk rewrite au is called Familiar Familiar! It all starts when Zelda doesn’t get sent back in time.)

Jay becomes a snake. Zane is a nindroid. Nya merged with the ocean. Lloyd becomes an oni. Cole becomes a ghost.
Every single ninja has become a ‘monster’/an inhuman being physically.
Kai is only one who hasn’t.
Instead, in Ninjago Monstrosity, he will become a monster mentally. Losing all sense of self as he hopes desperately for survival. For the feeling of love to fill his heart once more.
Kai is shown to be actively clinging to his humanity and sanity in the trailer, as his voice slowly shifts to a rougher, tireder tone. He is losing himself in a way none of the others ever have, because physically he is human. There is no supernatural force making him become something he isn’t, he isn’t becoming something he already was (at least, he hopes). His blood isn’t pushing him to follow instincts.
The only way Kai could become a monster in the land he is in, is through himself.

ACEROS⚜️💚 (Ferrum Armabellica)
"Armored, robust creatures in such a way that makes them resemble knights. These titanic beasts wield their most lethal weapon that rests at the tip of their tail, a chitinous and metallic halberd in all its glory. In a single swing they cut trees down without much effort. The helmet itself develops several pendulum axe-like appendages to slash with for frontal and side attacks. With their claws and sharp beak they scratch and gnaw at tree bark as well as bones, mainly benefiting from the minerals they have to offer. Likewise, their strength and armor was so noteworthy the ancient tribes considered them fully fledged warriors.
This species thrive in the jungle and live in solitude besides their offspring calves, which they will take care of until they grow enough to fend for themselves. As an oviparous species they lay crystalline eggs (usually in clutches of 1-3) at the shores and wait for them to hatch before returning to the tangled wilderness. The young are born reddish in color and over the years their metal shells rust and take on a greenish tint (just like copper!)"

and then would come the murder you will never survive– your brother, sam
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
the profoundly rattled face dean makes right after cain tells him he'll kill sam. like someone just grotesquely ripped his arteries out. he looks shaken and filled with cowardice. his steadfast mask of unshakable fortitude shattered completely. It's almost as bad as a helpless child at the end of the world. absouletly terrifed. nothing brings him to his knees and breaks his soul quite like sam. It's like watching a proud king stripped of all his grandeur. It's so satisfying bc he does not make these expressions because of anyone else

hear me out, hare reader and tortoise bf
Okay, so this was an interesting ride.
At first I thought, sure, pretty straight forward. Obviously, tortoise bf is subby, easily overstimulated, because hare reader goes too fast and hard for him. And then...
I looked it up because, yes, I am that person.
And apparently male tortoises can be quite aggressive and go multiple times? Obviously nothing like a hare, but imagine tortoise bf trying to take charge and become more dominant, while Reader is absolutely not having it, fighting to keep him down. Of course bf's stamina is just not the same, so eventually he's just a big ol' mess, laying down on his back, probably covered in a layer of excess cum at that point.
Maybe even half passed out while Reader is still riding him, just as enthusiastically as in the beginning, while he mumbles and whimpers incoherently that he can't cum anymore and that he needs to have a break.
I like to imagine that tortoise bf just gives up after a while, getting stuck on his back and accepting his fate, haha.
I did not forget about the noises they make, either. Not to ruin the horny, but imagine of instead of moaning, bf just does that. :'>

Hi, Tin! It's me again 🙈 how about some horror romance?) I love your ghost mentor!pbss, but I propose a ghost!Tang Bo. After TB died, Cheong Myeong developed a habit of talking to himself out loud. At least, people assumed so. And after his resurrection, this habit returned after a while. It's just a quirk so what? But then the disciples start noticing strange things happening where CM is. TB follows CM, but he is a malicious ghost in essence due to his violent death and regrets, full of resentment and looks far from friendly. CM is not bothered and communicates without problems, but more and more people start seeing his ghostly companion and they are terrified
Madlen, hello 💖 !! I'm so sorry this took me forever to get to ily ANYWAY I'm gonna go crazy!!!! YOU'RE SO BIG BRAIN FOR THIS.
Everyone thinks nothing of Chung Myung's offhanded mutterings and random bouts of laughter at times.
They think the malicious aura around him is just something that Chung Myung carries, but little did they know...
»—————————–✄
No one sees the monster until an ancient artifact finds its way into the Mount Hua Sect.
As thanks for saving their town from the demon cult members that attempted to pillage them, the village leader offered Mount Hua one of their village's well-kept relics that they found no use for anymore since there was no one in town who had any spiritual energy for it to resonate with.
It was an ancient artifact that revealed malicious demons and tainted creatures within its zone, allowing the holders to easily eradicate them and remove the plaguing monsters.
Baek Cheon did not think too much of it when they accepted the gift. He didn't know there would be any reason to use it anytime soon but still received the artifact with grace and gratitude.
However, he's proven wrong.
He returns to the sect alongside Jo Gul and Yu Iseol who accompanied him during the short mission and arrives around the tail-end of dinner time. Instead of proceeding to the Sect Leader's Office as should be proper, they first head over to grab a quick meal due to the loud rumbling from Jo Gul's stomach. The Sect Leader would understand.
((He'd also be scolded by Hyun Young if he withheld food from the children escpecially after a mission, but Baek Cheon digresses.))
They arrive at the mess hall with the artifact in tow to a splattering of greetings and congratulations. There were only a few disciples left; the others already turned in for the night.
Just as they were about to sit down, they felt pinpricks of inexplicable terror pierce them. They abruptly turned towards the entrance, swords pulled out and pointed.
Chung Myung enters. He's not alone.
Primal fear was the only way to describe what they were feeling as they made eye contact with the...thing...behind their youngest martial brother.
Its body was shaped like a human, but there was something distinctly off about it. If they had to describe it, it was as if the creature—because what else could you call it—molded itself into what it considered was the appearance of a human.
Its face and neck were a tad bit too long. Its shoulders were too wide and too sharp at the edges. You couldn't see its feet over the dark fog surrounding its steps and its hands were closer to claws as they held Chung Myung's body against it possessively.
Baek Cheon reflexively took a step back when the creature's eyes turned toward his. Instead of white, the creature's sclera was pitch black with the tiniest pinprick of red denoting its pupil.
Its head suddenly snapped at a 90-degree angle. It triggered every sense of preservation the disciples had.
It observed them. Its pinprick red eyes swept across the cold-sweating disciples who stared at the unfamiliar monster with wide eyes.
Y̴̧̳̯̮̰͖͈ͧͅó̴̡͍̱̳̰͖͓̙̬͙̞̬͋ͨ͌̒̑͗̊̽̑͊̃͟ṵ͇̤̤ͨ͑̐̀̋͟ c̴̶̣̪͖̫͕̖̖͔̘͊ͭͣ̃ͥ͐́̈̃͊̑ͫ̈̊ͣ̇͆̇̈̎͘͟ą̷̶̡̧̛̛̱͉̖͍̫̣͉̳̰͔̟͓̒̏̂ͫ̒ͥͣ̌ͣ̊ͤͬ̐̀ͮ̈̚͢͞͠͞ņ̸̸̸̲͎̻̝̞͚̻̭̜͚͚̝̹̝̟̥̃̔̓ͫͯ͒̈́͗̀̆ͩͤ̆ͩ̊͗͘͜͠ s͎͔̲̠̬̺͙̰̋͋͊̇͌̓ͮ̅͊ͧ̂̾͢͝e̵̴̷̙̩̱̬̫̙̺̖̻͕̥̿̀̽̃̍̀ͩͤͫ̀̿͆̑̒̐̔ͧ̂ͫ̽͢͢͠͝ȅ̶̷̷̘͙̻̣̮̠̱̪̠ͭ̂̒͐̎̇̀̊̽͟ͅ m̵̢̗̻̥͙͕͓̑̇̊ͧ̽ͬ̈́ͯͭ̾̄̀͘͟͠é͕̘̥̮̜̘̠͙̟̺͗̍ͩͥ̊̏ͥ̊̓̈̔ͬ̽͋͋̊̊͜͡_̨̢͔͓̼̿͋̌̿̆̕?̶̡̥͔͕͍͙̭͉̭̲̽͊̔̾ͯͭ͢
Primal fear. That was the only way Baek Cheon could explain what he was feeling. The dark, resentful fog that drifted around the creature's feet rose, surrounding both it and Chung Myung.
He had to get their sajil away from the creature, he thought to himself.
RUNRUNRUN, his brain screamed at him.
A wide-eyed Yu Iseol made the first move.
Operating on pure force driven by the desire to protect rather than being consumed by fear, she swung her blade directly at the monster. Teeth gritting and going against their body's instinct, Baek Cheon and Jo Gul quickly followed suit.
CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!
They're all thrown back harshly. Chung Myung had his sword out, his body moving to stand directly in front of the monster.
Chung Myung was shielding the monster from them.
Contrasting the manic look in his eyes, he calmly asked them, "What do you think you're trying to do?"
Behind them, they could see the monster's sinister wide grin as it sank its claws deeper.

Now having watched Frankenstein (1931) I find this really interesting. I didn't really expect the writers themselves to have watched the film; I assumed they saw it was a horror film released in Pete's time and included it with the bonus that the audience would know the story because its Frankenstein. It really aligns with the themes of spider noir though, so I'm second guessing myself.
I read Frankenstein a while back so I'm not as familiar with it as I once was, but I'd say its generous to say the movie is based off of the original novel. It hits some of the points but it really is different. I mean, in the film its Henry Frankenstein, not even Victor.
In the film, the monster is played almost-infantile. He reaches out towards light as if he could grab it. He plays with a little girl by a lake, throwing in flowers to watch them float like boats. When he kills her, it's an accident. How could he have known that she wouldn't float along with the flowers? Its Frankenstein and his assistant who are portrayed as monstrous. They lock him in the dark for three days. The intimidate him with fire and whips and fists.
Despite this, its Frankenstein who gets the 'good end,' while the monster is left to burn alive, pinned inside a wooden mill set alight by the townspeople.
Pete could have gotten nightmares from a number of scenes. Although I wouldn't personally say this is a scary film, there are definitely unnerving parts. There was also a different standard in 1931 for what was scary in film, plus Pete was already living a hard life at such a young age when he saw it.
Based on the panels themselves it is clear that Pete was scared of the monster itself (which is fair, the make up and costuming wanted him to be frightening). "I expected him to tell me there's no such thing as monsters," because no one in real life is a resurrected, looming... once-man-now-creature. (Just you wait, Peter). It's a more juvenile read of the film but Pete is a kid. Ben though, is a veteran, a socialist, has been around the block. He has the sense to analyze the film and interpret it differently. It is the men who find themselves with a capacity for senseless cruelty that are the monsters. That is exactly what the noir comics are about.
I really like that it's clear that Uncle Ben knows what Peter is about to learn. It also shows how much Pete has changed, just within the 1-2 years since he'd seen Frankenstein.
