Percy Jackson except Jason and Thalia were the first children born after the Big 3 vow.

Long before the events of the story.

Thalia still ends up and tree, but no one really knew what happened to Jason.

Until Sea of Monsters where instead of Tantalus showing up, Jason does.

Because if there's one thing Zeus/Jupiter's gonna do, it's punish his sons.

And just... Imagine everyone expecting some grised old being who's committed the worse crimes on earth.

But it's a kid.

It's a kid a few years older them wearing a tattered purple top.

He'd look like any other camper but there's chains on his wrists and ankles that drag behind him.

Scars covering his body and a tattoo no ones able to fully see.

His eyes mirror the sky before them and hold so much sadness that a person could drown in them.

Chiron is suprised to see him, a mix of greif and relief in his eyes as he greets him.

"It's good to see you, child."

"And you too, sir."

"None of that now, you are among friends."

Jason visibly relaxes at that, his smile goes from polite and practiced to genuine.

"Right... It's good to see you, old man."

His humour is so dry that's it's hard to tell when he's joking or not. And yet he's gotten some laughs.

It feels like a reward in itself when someone makes him laugh. His whole face lights up and for a second the sadness in him fades.

Jason's less off a new camp director as he is a glorified babysitter. And yet he takes it all in stride.

He's not a pushover and steps in to mediate, but for the most part let's everyone carry on as they wish.

If he's not around, Jason can be found sitting by his sisters tree. He talks in a hushed whisper, catching her up.

If anyone notices him crying, no one says a word.

Jason proves himself as a formidable fighter, having stopped a camper struggling with a sword technique and demonstrating it to them patiently.

Clarisse immediately challenges Jason.

He's clearly holding back but Jason does give her a fair fight. His fighting style is a lot more polished.

And yet, there's something wild about it.

He does smile at one point, when Maimer strikes him.

"I'm afraid, that little trick won't work on me."

It was a short fight but the Ares cabin definitely gained some respect for him.

Clarisse asks why he didn't use the electricity against her, and he says he can't.

Shaking his chains like that explained everything.

It's easy to forget Jason's parentage. Especially after seeing him gush over architecture with Annabeth.

Hell all he needs is grey eyes and he'd fit right in to the Athena cabin.

And yet, at the same time there's no one else who fits as Jason's parent than Zeus (well Jupiter but they don't know that.)

Jason's a natural leader, he's a great diplomat and can defuse even the most chaotic situations.

There's power in his words, authority and yet he doesn't abuse it. There's a weight that's always on his shoulders.

He's a mystery.

He doesn't sleep in the Zeus Cabin, he has a blanket and curls up on the ground. Apparently he's used too it.

Tho there's been times he has been persuaded to sleep in the Hermes cabin, it's rare he accepts.

Not that he sleeps much. People have heard the screams from his nightmares.

More often than not Jason's awake, talking to the Naids and Nymphs as he patrols camp grounds late at night.

Surprisingly none try and attack him, in fact they all treat him with respect.

Grover says that Jason's blessed by the wild by an ancient being, not that he knows who.

Jason doesn't talk a lot about himself, he will talk at length about his sister though. And old friends with a sad smile.

The past is a hard subject for him, he says bits and pieces but not much.

The camps magical food doesn't work for him. Jason goes out of camp borders and goes hunting.

He eats alone, outside and Hestia makes a fire for him. He always sacrifices some food to her.

But also to Hera, which was surprising.

"But your a son of Zeus... Does she accept offerings from you?"

"I'd hope so, I am her champion."

It takes a while for anyone to realise but Jason's chains are heavy.

In fact there are days where Jason simply can't move. Because lugging them around tires him out.

And sometimes the camps borders simply don't let him leave.

On those days some campers have hunted for him.

Jason's always suprised and thankful. He'll share and tell them not to out themselves in danger for him.

But they do so anyway.

Camp Half blood decided a long while back Jason was one of them.

He's like everyone's stressed out, tired, nerdy older brother.

Jason has no knowledge of pop culture and apparently that's a crime.

But since no tech is allowed at camp, which means a lot of reinactments of memes

He's still confused but very entertained.

They've seen him fight monsters and it's so different to how he's fought in spars.

Jason fights to survive, he doesn't have a weapon other than his own chains.

He growls, he rips monsters apart with his bare hands and teeth.

Only stopping when they've all been defeated.

It was awesome.

Tho he did almost get hit by lighting from above and had to rush back into camp.

"Can I ask, what are you being punished for?"

"Let's just say, me and my dad had a disagreement."

Zeus: He's a monster, he's nothing but trouble and a mistake.

Camp Half blood: If monster, why friend shaped?

I just realized I barely talked about each individual 1-E kid, so here's that. Basically just a quick summary of everyone.

(going in order of the seating chart)

Wameku Nanase:

Vice class-representative

Quirk: Volume, she's able to change the volume of any sound (from really blasting something to full-on muting it)

serious + uptight attitude, but also a natural born leader who looks out for others

Kudasai Rena:

Class representative

Quirk: Memory Edition, Three parts basically: she members everything, can look into the memories of others, and change other people's memories.

A natural-born leader, seems put together and organized, but is secretly stressed.

Tanya Alfred:

one of the few foreign exchange students of the 1st year class

Quirk: Limb Generation, she can generate additional limbs (arms, legs, fingers) on her body

confident, strong-willed, and hardworking. One she sets her mind on something, she will acheive it

Murasaki Hideki:

1/3 of the mian trio

Quirk: Geometry, can make any three-dimensional shape from thin air, but at a cost of his energy

cold and sharp-tongued, but has a softer side that only few see

Kikuyu Seishi:

Quirk: Jackson's Chameleon (often shortened to just "Chameleon"), a mutant quirk that makes him resemble a chameleon and makes him capable od doing what ever a chameleon can.

a quiet person, ot because he hates them but more like he lacks social skills. A socially awkward person who just trying his best.

Miyama Yashiro:

Quirk: Stone Statue: can turn any inanimate object (+ eventually living things) into stone with all five fingers. All effects can be reversed.

A prideful person with an outward personality, a kinda a handful. Bros just a big goof tho

Kinzoku Ryosei:

Quirk: Can generate (via iron content in blood) + manipulate metals at a certain range. Honestly, the fact he failed the entrance exam baffles like most of the class.

He’s a little goofy guy, often rambling about absolute nonsense but also a sweetheart

Kangae Noriko: 

⅔ of the main trio

Main character moment

Quirk: Mind reader, literally the most self-explanatory one, she can read the mind of other people.

Impulsive and a bit of an airhead, but determined to meet her goals

Tsuzuko Kamon:

Quirk: plush dool, makes him resemble that of a stuffed animal. Essentially makes him like a human shield (Cant feel pain, absorbs shocks, ect)

Sweet guy who radiates innocence, but is kinda oblivious tho

Fujimoto Ikumi:

3/3 of the mian trio

Quirk: Yarn, her hair is yarn that can be manipulated and extended to great lengths.

Quiet and sweet when you first meet her, but can become just as lively as Noriko and Hideki with the right conditions.

Chijō Daishin:

Quirk: Rock, can manipulate and generate rocks via minerals form the food he eats

Energetic and confident, but alos very, very loud

Hedoro Emika:

Quirk: Slime Body, she can turn into a little blob of slime, can increase/decrease in size, trap things in her body, and fit through tight spaces

A cheerful person who likes being with other people can easily talk to anyone without any problems

Ikenoue Hakaru:

Quirk: Melt Off, by touching an inanimate object (or even people) with all five fingers, he can turn anything into a more liquified state.

Straightforward, apathetic, overly sarcastic, and very, very honest. One of the least social people in the class.

Kagayaku Amiyuki:

Quirk: Spherical Light, which can take sun rays and convert them into light orbs. Can be used to attack or just light up a room, can be stored

Very anti-social, not like “ew people”, more like “AAAAAA PEOPLE”, quiet and often tries to avoid her classmates

Hinazuki Satoru:

Quirk: Switch Blade, his hands can turn into switchblades with one swift motion with his hands (Edward Scissorhands, more like Edward Knifehands)

A laidback guy who can get along with practically anyone

Anabuki Masada:

“Quirk”: Bro isn't human, they can fire beams of light, extend their limb lengths, and have leg jets, They’re also fireproof and waterproof, with his only real weakness being electrocution

A being curious about the world around him, but is working on expressing emotion

Daiba Tokuro:

Quirk: Bomb, can make explosives via the proteins in his cells, honestly one of the most powerful students in the class

Just seems like a pretty normal dude, but with the right conditions, he can turn into a chaotic, super acceptive, and hyperactive,

Yamazaki Takage:

Quirk: Hallucination, can make others start to hallucinate by making eye contact with them

Despite his cheerful exterior, they are often described as weird and peculiar 

Hanasaka Kao:

Quirk: Plant Growth, can grow plants from her body via planting seeds into her body (it's a fun process)

The older sister figure in the class, she often looks out for them and just wishes to protect them

Sakamata Kazuya:

Quirk: Orca, can do whatever a orca can (in/out of water)

A very quiet person who often mind his own business, but tends to notice the smallest things

Carulia ship analysis pt. 2

keeping for a moment the no chemistry topic

I forgot to talk about a scene that is one of the most important in this ship, i'm talking about the rose scene

here in this scene, we can see that Julia was crushing on Carmen, and it isn't hidden, but most people think about the fact that since Carmen gave those roses to Julia she is in love with her, but for me, it doesn't change a thing.

I'm gonna explain better.

I think the red roses are, for Carmen, a way to say "good luck" or "thank you" since it isn't the first time she gifts them to someone she cares about, remember lupe peligro?

she gifted roses to her to wish her good luck, and I think that a thank you was implied.

so since, in my belief, Carmen does not reciprocate Julia's feelings, I think that she just gifted her some roses to say, "Thank you for always helping her when i need it"

now, for this topic, I know that I missed some scenes and episodes which they are together in, but I only mentioned the important parts, or else I would have to say the same thing for every single interaction they had.

now, let's move to the second topic

they are very different

this topic can be connected very well to what I said for the previous one, but anyway.

to better understand this topic, I'm gonna have to do a little analysis on Julia and Carmen's characters.

We know about carmen that probably her favourite subjects are history and geography, she likes to stay fit and train, she is an empathetic person, a badass one also, she is an orphan (not entirely tho. But she doesn’t know that since the end), she had a thief training growing up, she never had any friends until player (her first online friend) and graham (her first irl friend), she is an ESTP (so she is a natural-born leader who thrive in fast-paced environments, enjoy working with people, and have an entrepreneurial personality (that is just a superficial description tho, i suggest searching it up to have a deeper knowledge of what I’m talking about))

And then about Julia we know that she likes history very much and also like investigation, she is very calm and professional, she for sure had at least a mother growing up (as we see in a photo that she has in her office in the Egyptian episode) and she knows her family roots for sure, she really likes to talk about history and she is an INTJ (a person with the Introverted, Intuitive, Thinking, and Judging personality traits. These thoughtful tacticians love perfecting the details of life, applying creativity and rationality to everything she does (even here, it is just a superficial description))

As you can see from those 2 short explanations of the two of them, we can see that the only thing that they actually have in common is just liking history, which carmen also share with player. You can see too that this is not enough to have a good relationship; ad example if you took any other ship in the show (which could be Cleo and Bellum, Paper star and Tigress, El topo and Le chèvre, Carmen and Ivy, Carmen and Gray and many more) have much more than that in common.

With that, we connect to the third topic

They would not complement each other well

After all the things that i said on the previous topic, we know that they are very different , speaking for their interests, their past, and their personality. And with that, you have to consider how they would want a relationship to be (always in my opinion):

Carmen, for sure, needs a passionate relationship, full of teasing, and she would need her partner to keep up with her, with the same energy

Julia, instead, needs a more sweet relationship, gentle words etc… Basically, a relationship based on sweetness, a more “calm” one

Can you see the problem here? They are not each others types. They would not complement well.

Now, the last but not least topic

They have no “ship moments”

Ok I’m gonna take as an example here, Redcrackle.

As a really good ship, Redcrackle has a lot of moments that are clearly romantic, and that can not be seen in other ways than that. They basically leave no interpretations. Like the coffee dates ones (yes i know that Gray was brainwashed, and I’m gonna talk about it in my Redcrackle ship analysis, but still) or when chief said that he (graham) was an idiot in love (with carmen) or basically just the way they would constantly look at each other.

While Carulia has only a few moments that shows that Julia liked Carmen, but not the other way round. And, i will not stop saying that, but a crush, little or big, not reciprocated, is not enough to base a relationship. Plus, this is just a personal interpretation. Anyone could interpret what Julia did and said as a friendship thing because it is not oblivious like it is for Redcrackle.

Ok, i hope that you liked this little ship analysis (and i also hope to not upset or trigger anyone with this post, too). Next, i will do a Redcrackle ship analysis. Remember, you can ship whoever you want. This is just a personal opinion.

Rpg Anon: Funny enough, mod, just like the hinazumi fanchildren, Shiva and Parvati also had 2 sons and a daughter. (They actually had a questionable more but I had to get the obvious two sons and the most "iconic" daughter). So i guess i can give their children their Personas, too.

Genjitsu: Kartikeya (It's debated whether he's the elder brother but whatever). Both are supposedly Mr. Perfect, natural born brave intelligent leaders, and I assume idealistic and philosophical people. I also assume Hajime is gonna teach Genji lots of martial arts too and Kartikeya was a god of war and had great martial skills. And according to smt, he's not afraid to tell everyone that his mom is weird and he's scared of her so maybe that goes in line with Genji's assertiveness and not mincing words. Not sure what about Genji is close to having a spear and riding on a peacock tho.

Akihiro: Ganesha. This one might be a super stretch but whatever. First, Ganesha has two to three wives (the story behind that is weird so let's not get into that) and so I guess Aki's womanizing personality might stem from that. You could also say that Ganesha was one to spread love everywhere so that could also be part of his womanizing stuff. In addition, Ganesha was a bit indulgent when it came to food, especially sweets, and so I guess I can say Aki likes to indulge in flirting too. Second, you said that Aki is tolerant to others' quirks and faults. Well, Ganesha's big elephant ears are symbolic of listening to others and Ganesha was a patient and humble person. And third, I felt that Akihiro should have Ganesha for introspective and reflective purposes. You said Aki had fears of the future and the unknown and other insecurities. What better Persona to have than the God of Inner Happiness, Endurance, Responsibility, Enjoying Life, and most importantly, Removing Obstacles, or in other words Overcoming Hardships. Aki is NOT like Ganesha yet, but Ganesha will represent his growth as a person.

Sayu: Ashoka Sundari. Ok first of all, not much can be said about Ashoka: Parvati felt lonely, she wished on a tree for a daughter, and Ashoka was born. I wouldn't say Ashoka is a damsel in distress, she's more like someone just went along with destiny. Trust me, it's not very unique or important now. There is only ONE thing I can relate Sayu and it is a hilarious jab at Sayu. Parvati once cursed Ashoka to be fused with a bag of salt and while she eventually got better, it became associated with her. You said that Sayu has a mean competitive streak and hates losing and has a short temper. I guess you can say Ashoka and Sayu are both very "salty" people.

Do you think Queen Prisma and King Dedede would get along as fellow rulers or would they have arguements cause they don't share the same opinions on how a kingdom should be run?

Their personalities and opinions would clash a lot at the beginning but I think they would eventually come around and have a mutual understanding with one another if they worked together ^^

Prisma is a great leader and highly respected by her subjects, so I think Dedede would pick up on that and subtly (or...not so subtly) try to match her leadership style so more people will respect him too.

...For example he may only make decisions based on whether or not it has him appear like a good leader to her xD

It would take them a while to coexist like this though, I can see plenty moments of them bumping heads to be inevitable, ahaha.

"One-Eye, Halftail, Oddfoot, FLIPCLAW (what kind of prefix is 'Flip'?) Twigbranch, Clawface etc. Don't get me started on those atrocious SkyClan names with KITTYPET PREFIXES

so i'm going to start with saying! as a general rule, i love these names. i will address them each in turn, but i don't have a problem with warriors having "bad names," i have a problem with names that don't make sense given their context.

it does not make sense for blackfoot to be named blackkit, when he's mostly white. (and, as a colorpoint cat, i assume, would be born entirely white.) etc.

but i have no problem with bellaleaf, because well, yeah! makes sense to me.

after all, leaf was named leafdapple, why shouldn't bella be named bellaleaf.

i'm going to discuss each name you brought up in turn, and then, under the cut, i'm going to ramble about naming philosphies.

one-eye: i'm fine with this. i don't mind cats being named after their disabilities, not when it's an established part of warriors culture. (even if it doesn't happen anymore because people would be pissed about it.) i don't know if i think it's right, or if i think cats would have a problem with it, but i think it's good. i'd like to think most cats wouldn't have a problem with it, though. that said, for one-eye in particular, her name was already white-eye, so it feels redundant. food for thought, i suppose.

halftail: i'm not okay with this, because he lost...half his tail? trust me, as someone who had a cat with half a tail, you don't notice it. doesn't make sense. he can keep sparrowpelt, altho tbh i almost always forget about him.

oddfoot: oops i forget him initially! i actually assumed he was named odd because of numbers or something, but apparently it’s a deadfoot situation. we don’t know his kit name, so i’ll assume he was named as either an apprentice or a warrior to fit. it wouldn’t make sense for him to just have the prefix odd, and i’ll give him the benefit of the doubt and assume that he didn’t. if he did, however, i would have a problem with it because that makes his name a compound name, not because his leader renamed him.

flipclaw: i don't have a problem with it. what kind of name is flipkit? the kind of name a mother would give who looks a lot like the cat who traumatized her, i think. more importantly, i think it's cute! doesn't bother me. would i name an oc flipkit? probably not, but that's just me.

twigbranch: oh no i love her name. i love it! it's so cute. it means something, too! it has meaning. nope. no one is taking twigbranch away from me. i love it.

clawface: mixed. i don't really have a problem with a cat being named clawkit, but it feels...violent. shrug. i don't like it, but like, i also don't like sandynose.

and i won't directly address skyclan because uh i already stated my thoughts on them.

skyclan in particular, tho, it actually makes a lot of sense for their names to be like that. there is no reason to apply any clan norms to skyclan names.

i really hope they keep their names, too. tradition and legacy of names is important to them (pebbleshine and violetshine for the most direct example, but it's everywhere), and i want that to stay. i love that leafstar named her kit harrykit. never change skyclan.

as always, i want to say that i do not have a problem with anyone's methodology of naming cats. i do not care. i support every single name in existence (barring certain combinations of color and "-face," and anything in that vein), and i do not want to come across as telling you what you should do.

that includes you, anon! i do not think you should listen to me when i say i like these names. i think you should rename them whatever you want. (i strongly suggest reconsidering skyclan renames, tho. there's established reasons in canon for them to have those names, and i think it's a cool cultural thing worth exploring. i keep meaning to write a funny lil one-shot about it.)

but you know! if you want to rename them, go for it! i support you!

that said, here is what i think (and i am not an authority on this in any way, shape, or form) about names:

i've written extensively about naming traditions in the clans. if you want to read that, "names. leaders. meaning" and "names part two" are where i recommend you look. (note: first link is to my main, before i migrated warriors content here.)

i'm not going to go over any of that in detail, because well, i'd rather talk about something new?

anyway, i don't think there's a reason to rename the vast majority of cats. i have very, very, few rules. heck, in ashes, i even had squilf come out and say that there's not even a problem with cats sharing a prefix.

the two cats i have renamed are yellowstorm and runningcloud, both for very specific reasons: -fang is a suffix that only makes sense if you're a warrior, and yellowfang names runningpaw runningnose, but in this au, sagewhisker names him, and she doesn't seem like the type to give that kind of name.

in yellowfang's secret, which i do generally treat as canon, yellowfang explains runningnose's name. i don't have a problem with her giving that name to him in the slightest. i just don't think sagewhisker would, and that overrode my general conservative approach to cat names.

but i do think, to an extent, cats are named for the world around them. i explored this in "without warning," where cats can be named after all sorts of strange things (elevator is my favourite), because well, they don't know what strange names are and are not.

so, for example, if there was a kit named, say, chaffinchkit, i would probably rename them, because i've set my warriors in the pnw, and there are no chaffinches in america.

i would just name the kit finchkit, because really, a chaffinch just a specific type of finch anyway.

i also refuse to name a kit maggotkit. there are probably other canonical prefixes in this nature that i refuse, but maggot is the big one that comes to mind.

but i don't care that ferns are green and cats aren't green. maybe it's a name passed down through the generations, one they don't even remember the origin of, but now, it is a thunderclan name.

or maybe, it is given to a riverclan cat simply because their mother thinks ferns are nice and soft.

none of that matters to me, because i personally find limiting name to appearance is incredibly boring, and gives up a really nice chance to worldbuild.

in "fair is the night," ivypool and tigerheart have a brief conversation exploring this.

"ThunderClan is different," he says. "You don't use names in the same way. You don't know the Ivy before you. But ShadowClan isn't like that. Dawnpelt knows Dawncloud and Flametail knows Flamefur, but...I have Tigerstar." "That seems ineffective," Ivypool says. "You can get more mileage out of your names. Here, Ivy is for grey kits, right? But wiry ones. We need strong roots. And Dove is for grey kits, or white ones, but its for the ones who are born soft."

they go on, but i would never pass up an opportunity to explore that type of thing. (and yes i see the typo)

similarly, i like the renaming system. i am like, this close to saying i love it.

the only reason i don't make brightheart lostface in everything i write is because it'd be too much of a headache to remind people, and i also don't want to needlessly invite arguments about it.

she keeps her name in "saccharine tithes of love and glory" because it's the kind of au where i can throw small things like that, without worrying, because it fits, tonally.

i wish it didn't set a fic in a very specific tone, but it does, and so, i usually use brightheart.

(also, it's clear that she prefers brightheart in the books, and i respect that. i don't think, in my culture, that makes sense for her, but i've talked about my works as being on a spectrum between canon and me, and most stuff is far enough away from me that i call her brightheart.)

anyway.

part of it is, renaming cats is imposing my rules over canon. i feel that saying "flipclaw should be named something else" asserts that my world is correct, and canon is wrong.

like, tallstar as a name does not make sense in my windclan. a kit can't be tall, and i've established that windclan names are very literal. but i've let it go, because i chose to make that a rule, and now i live with it.

i hope i didn't come off as prescriptivist, here, because i honestly believe if you want to rename cats, you should. i'd even be happy to discuss alternatives.

for clawface, might i suggest scorchface? (the suffix is malleable, frankly, but i don't feel like thinking much about it.) scorch deliberately has negative connotations in shadowclan, so you keep the same effect as clawface. especially since it just kind of sounds ominous.

but as for what i will do, it is not rename cats. i like their names (especially skyclan's), in all their idiosyncratic glory.

i made a post about this that evolved in a beautiful thread, with so many great ideas being shared by a lot of wonderful people, and then spent a couple of days thinking about possible shapes and possible names and this probably longer-than-comfortable post is the result of all that so i hope you enjoy let’s discuss let’s talk about this god i just love dæmons so much

first things first, some ground rules of how dæmons might work when taking into account the old guard’s particular flavor of immortality. @fleurdufeu suggested that the dæmon gets Severed with the person’s first death, the one that triggers immortality. and with each death (@en-sam-malas also brought this up) the dæmon can travel farther and farther away and can stay awake when their human is sleeping, contributing to the general idea of Otherness™ the old guard carries with them, especially in a world with a dæmons. @dearest--gertrude also suggested that just like the first deaths takes longer to return back from, dæmons would be slower to reappear— taking maybe two or three days the first time (which would add to the shock of having discovered immortality bcos like??? i’m alive??? and without my dæmon??? what the fuck???) to movie-time when the dæmon’s body is already there even before the human comes back to life. which only leads to the fact that when the final death comes the dæmon does disappear in a puff of golden dust like in hdm and creates a general wave of Angst (like i imagine that’s how Andy and Quynh knew that it was Lykon’s time, bcos his dæmon just disappeared and didn’t return)

@en-sam-malas added two Great Ideas, which is that most of the old guard would not have grown up with the taboo of not touching other people’s dæmons and so would use them in battle against other humans (which highlights their Otherness™ once again), and that their dæmons can probably undergo changes of shape— not as frequent as a child but following big traumatic events, like their first death, huge losses and grief and so on, and that’s the idea i’ve built on when looking for suitable shapes for each of them so here we fucking go (note that i did omit Lykon bcos we know so little of him atm but maybe when more material comes out we’ll be able to figure him out better???)

Nile

i’d like to think that as times grow more modern, dæmons’ names grow more modern as well— bcos Nile���s from Chicago, her dæmon could be called Jazz (bcos of the city’s history with the music genre) or Hopper (bcos Hopper’s Nighthawks is in Chicago and Nile loves art??? is it a stretch??? i’m open to better ideas for sure). her dæmon probably settled sometime after her father’s death into a german shepherd, as suggested by @stevie-harrington bcos in hdm many soldiers are shown to have a dog dæmon and dog dæmons are reliable and intelligent, pack animals that can hold their own in a fight. when she comes back from her first death Hopper is not with her, which only adds to the uneasiness the other marines feel around her bcos how tf is she alive without her dæmon this is just Wrong. he reappears when she wakes up in the back of the van, and it’s only on the plane that she realised that something is different about him and that he’s not exactly a german shepherd anymore— i’d like for his first changed shape to be one of those dogs that could be wolves and toy the line between the two (bcos it’s a bit more wild and also bcos i’d like Andy to have a wold dæmon and for Nile’s to resemble Andy’s since it’s vaguely implied she will take her place as leader of the old guard)

Booker

Booker’s dæmon is called Manette (which means “bitter”/”bitterness” and i mean,,,,nomen omen) and when it first settled it was a marmoset, as suggested by both @mewbotz and @fleurdufeu, an animal dexterous enough to help him with his forgeries and also deeply family oriented (marmosets mate for life are very involved in bringing up younglings which would make sense to Booker falling deep into desperation once his family passes). Manette changes the first time when he dies, and again @fleurdufeu suggests she could turn into a carrion crow to blend in with the others while Booker hangs for three/four days, brings him idk insects to eat and stays on his shoulder and they both cry bcos they don’t understand what happened to them and they feel each other but they’re also so different (crows are also family oriented and they mimic sounds so in theory she’s like her previous form but also with trauma and the imagery of death). she could turn into a cinereous vulture when the last members of Booker’s family die, reserved and passive and isolated, and then during movie-time she’s something even smaller, maybe even a mouse, bcos grief has twisted Booker into something that he himself cannot recognise and he sleeps with Manette in his hands like he used to do when she was a monkey and it feels almost the same but not quite. i’d assume that after the ordeal with Quynh she changes shape again, maybe if he starts healing up a bit??? 

Nicky + Joe

they go together bcos a) obviously and b) their dæmons have very similar stories and changes of shape so it makes sense for me to talk about them together

i called Nicky’s dæmon Glauca, which is a sort of shortening of the Homeric epithet given to the goddess Athena, glaukôpis aka bright-eyed (you get it??? like Nicky himself when will Luca’s eyes leave me in peace the answer is never). bcos he was born in a coastal city i’d like to his dæmon to have settled into a sea bird, and i chose the shape of a scopoli’s shearwater, a bird that’s native to Liguria and a good swimmer

i chose Zahara for Joe’s dæmon, a name that means most exquisite bcos i thought about the fact that he was an artist and a poet but i’m Very Much Open to more informed opinions than mine. Zahara’s first shape could have been a fennec, native to Northern Africa and a very outgoing kind of animal which i feel would match Joe’s personality

the first change for both of them is, again obviously, when they kill each other for the first time. when they find their dæmons again after having spent like three days in a blind rage and confusion and pain and where is my dæmon have it lost her what have i become it’s his fault they’re both smaller in dimension, bcos they’re in shock, and more vicious than their original shape, so i picked a stoat for Nicky and a genette for Joe— both small carnivores, native one to Europe and the other to North Africa, and they just tear into each other again for a not-better-specified amount of days it’s just sword scimitar teeth claws whatever. i then see Nicky and Joe sort of “making peace” and travelling together from Jerusalem to the sea, where they part ways, and the shock is so great, the reflection they go through when they’re apart so massive that causes another change, this one the farthest away from their “personality” as they struggle to understand who they are now and what they have become. Zahara becomes a blackbird and Glauca a cape hare, shapes that neither of them feel like are right

when they both start to make peace with what they have become and realise that there might be Feelings popping out, say like a couple of centuries after Jerusalem they’ve caught glimpses of each other in other Crusades and such, both dæmons change into cats. smaller cats for now, and when Joe and Nicky go and look for each other and find each other in Malta and realise that they love each other and share some poetic and lyrical declaration of eternal adoration they wake up and find their dæmons in similar shapes— big cats, like @mewbotz suggested. Joe’s dæmon settles into a leopard, majestic and sun-like, while Nicky’s becomes a panther, hiding in the shadows, fiercely protective and betraying Nicky’s nature of actually being a Pretty Dangerous Guy. and @mewbotz goes on to say that Joe and Nicky are so inseparable that their dæmons actually follow the other around, a way to always make sure they’re safe, and so it looks like Joe’s the one with Glauca the panther and Nicky’s the one with Zahara the leopard and in that way they’re never really apart and it’s Beautiful

Quynh

bcos they’re both so old, i have this idea that neither Quynh not Andy remember the actual very first shape their dæmon took (like Andy says that she doesn’t remember the faces of her sisters, for example). i’d like for him to be called Giao Long, a name lifted from Vietnamese myths about dragons, but again i only acquired this knowledge through internet searches so if anyone more informed wants to weigh in i’d be Very Happy

when Quynh’s riding with Andy, her dæmon is a crested serpent eagle, as suggested by @fleurdufeu, with the beautiful image of it flying close to Quynh’s arrow as it sails towards its target like @mewbotz said. the fact that their dæmons are so eerie and strange contribute to the English townspeople believing Quynh and Andy are witches, and when they throw Quynh overboard her dæmon is left flying above the water and it’s just a horrible cycle of madness with the dæmon changing shape to a bird to a fish to an insect reaching her into her cage flying above just mad with grief and pain like Quynh herself is

they find each other when she gets out but they’re both broken and twisted in an ugly way, and the dæmon has turned into something she can keep close— i’d partial to the idea of a snake bcos she was “a pit viper in a fight” and even tho they can separate like every other immortal they never do bcos the trauma is too great

Andy

i got Andy’s dæmon’s name from the Italian wikipedia page about Scythians and for the life of me i can’t find the same info in english but like, apparently there was a mythical/semi-mythical Scythian king called Colassai??? i find it a very fitting name and like Andy herself he could have shortened it to Cole in the modern age

Andy doesn’t remember his first shape (but i realised the deer was a pretty important animal in Scythian culture so maybe it could have been one???), but when she meets Lykon her dæmon is a wild boar— still an earthbound animal, brutal in a fight to match her axe-wielding fighting style. when she meets Quynh, their dæmons match (immortal wives and immortal husbands with matching dæmons for the win) and @fleurdufeu suggested it might be a golden eagle, The™ steppes’ predator

losing Quynh definitely triggers a change of shape and Andy’s dæmon becomes earthbound once again, as if Quynh’s death clipped its wings, and it become maybe a fox??? smaller, still vicious, still useful in a fight. then, when Andy’s in Australia with Achilles (as per the comics but also the movie bcos i think they showed Andy’s portrait in the cave) her dæmon could take the shape of an Australian-born animal, maybe a dingo??? and in movie-time her dæmon is a full out wolf, leader of the pack, brutal in a fight— and Nile’s dæmon slowly starts to resemble Andy’s wolf

She knows he isn’t delicate but in her nature she sees him and thinks must protect lmao

The two of them are quite touchy, same with Hendery and Ten and when they are sat beside each other in interviews they’ll secretly hold hands (or pinkies) or during lives someone has a hand on the others thigh

She’s very comfortable around him and likes getting cuddles from him when she can

If she can’t get to Ten after a night terror she tries to get Xiaojun without waking up Yangyang and they’ll sneak into her room and just talk until she or both of them fall asleep

Hendery

Crackhead central

She has this urge to out idiot him every time he does something dumb

Like stated before with Xiaojun they are touchy, these two are the clingiest though

These two are always touching, but not in a bad sense, like if these two are sat together, his head will be in her lap- vice versa or her legs over his legs etc

These two are also gym buddies, really because both are a little lazy but are also competitive but only around each other

Probably shipped together the most too because they always seem to be together and neither actually tease the other

YangYang

These two don’t have a filter when left alone or with Ten - well to an extent

Remember that live where Yang said if he had a son he’d name the son Eleven

Yeah she was there and she was sitting in just utter confusion the entire time because she’d stopped listening until that point

Just Finished RWBY Volume 2...

...and HOLY HECK IT GOT BETTER.

New antagonists! More huntsman action! More characters and interactions! And the fights, tho. THE FIGHTS!

*Ahem* Okay, clearly I just need to start from the beginning...

Episode 1

We start the new season by being reintroduced to our new antagonists, Emerald Sustrai and Mercury Black. They may be villains, but they're also obviously teens (Mercury radiates prick energy) and they're dynamic is entertaining. Also, RIP Tukson, he seemed like a nice dude...

We then cut back to Team RWBY and JNPR, who are apparently on break at the moment. It's also nice to see Sun again, and we also get to meet Neptune. Anyways, someone throws a pie in Weiss face, and you know what that means...

FOOD FIGHT!!!

Seriously, THESE KIDS ARE CRAZY. Ruby can apparently surf on lunch trays! Weiss used ketchup and a freakin' swordfish like Myrtenaster! Blake used baguettes and a sausage link like Gambol Shroud! Freakin' YANG was punching things with TURKEY! JAUNE... threw a melon, that was cool; nice to see that he's losing the noodleness of his body. NORA RIPPED OUT A PIPE, STUFFED IT TO A MELON, AND CALLED IT MAGNHILD! Note to self: never challenge Pyrrha to a fight near a vending machine (or anytime, really). Ren can kick WATERMELONS, and fight with LEEKS. HOW CAN THEY EVEN DIGEST ALL THAT FOOD!?

RIP Neptune's hair though, I hear grape is hard to wash out...

Then we cut back to the White Fang and Torchwick, who are then met with Mercury, Emerald, and later the great Cinder Fall herself. I'll admit, Mercury's funny but a jerk, and Emerald... I'm pretty sure I was mentally screaming "YOU'RE BEING MANIPULATED" when I saw her and Cinder. First she doesn't give Emerald a hug, then she tells her to not think and just obey? RED FLAGS. RED FLAGS EVERYWHERE.

Oh, speaking of Cinder, while she does radiate boss energy, I'm glad that I don't personally like her. I don't know what it is, but it might be the fact that she's treating everyone else like her pawns (and considering she used a chess piece later in this volume, I wouldn't be surprised). I mean, good villain, but like any good villain, I want her to get roasted, though that might not work given her Semblance.

Also, Roman Torchwick, you beautiful jerk, never change. I love ya, but I also love seeing you get dragged, which is what Emerald did to you at the end of this. Yep, I'm on board for this season!

Also, the new opening. I thought nothing could top "This Will Be The Day." I was wrong. Haven't listened to all of it yet, but "Time To Say Goodbye" SLAPS.

Episode 2

So, several things. There's board games, insert Yu-Gi-Oh reference here... Yang has too much power. Also, if I remember the lingo right, then this is also the episode where the White Rose shippers got crumbs, the White Knight shippers were once again denied, and where the Iceberg shippers were born (while the rest of us were titling our heads in confusion with Jaune). Jaune continues to be a social dork (what's with the blonde boys blowing Blake's secret? Don't think I've forgotten about Sun...). Blake is being consumed with the burden of RESPONSIBILITY. I feel that Blake. Oh, and the ending...

Why do out villains have to be clever enough to infiltrate the actual school!? And Weiss' "We're doomed." I hope that's not secret foreshadowing...

Episode 3

Jaune fails yet again at wooing Weiss (at least Yang comforts him at the end), and the gang begins their espionage. We meet Penny again, Weiss deals with her past, albeit briefly, and Penny... oh boy. She's hiding something, and the hiccups make it obvious. What could it possibly- oh...

Episode 4

Most of us had our suspicions, what with Penny's awkward demeanor and ludicrous super strength, but yep, she's a robot! Aw, get yourself a real one like Ruby. Oh, and Neptune's useless with Yang around. Speaking of, HEY, good to see you again, Junior! So Blake and Sun intercept the White Fang rally and... oh fudge they got giant robots. BAIL! We also get to see Neptune's weapon and Sun's semblance (before they nope off the road and leave the rest of the fighting to RWBY, while they go off and get ramen, the jerks...). Also, nice to see that they have team attack names (I believe some of them double as ship names), and this is where we get to meet the Ice Cream Queen Neopolitan (not to be confused with the now officially dubbed Ice Queen Weiss Schnee. If even the villains are calling you that, then congrats, you have a new title)! Neo then proceeds to give them the slip, and I personally believe that Yang only disliked Weiss' pun because it highlighted her failure.

C'mon Yang, at least she's TRYING!

Episode 5

Pyrrha is a combat queen. 'Nuff said. Suck it, CRDL.

Oh no. Mercury is both a smart aleck AND smart. This will not end well.

Blake, take a break. No, seriously, working yourself to death just because you think you can doesn't mean you should. You will only feel worse. TAKE A BREAK.

Well Jaune, mission failed. You'll get her next time.

Pyrrha Nikos. Sweetie. We're talking about Jaune Arc here. He's not gonna get the hints you're dropping unless that "hint" is a full blown irrefutable confession so obvious that even he can't screw it up. I know you want to help him because you like him (and yes, even like like him), but it's clear Weiss isn't interested, at least not now. Capitalize on that!

And our villain group continues to be dastardly. *Chuckles* We're in danger.

Episode 6

The dance draws near, and it seems that both Blake AND Jaune could use a pep talk!

Poor Blake. It appears your faunus trait makes you more cat-like than just the ears.

Also, poor Ren. He just wants a nice bath, but alas, the power of bromance.

Oof, tough love from Yang. Pretty good flashback, though. Also, Pyrrha, your selfless nature will be your undoing, listen to Nora.

...oh God, if I'm saying "listen to Nora" when the world isn't ending, we might ACTUALLY be in danger.

Aw, the dance looks fun. Poor Jaune, tho. Don't worry, at least Yang, Blake, and Sun are having a good time (and this is the part where I realize I'm becoming a SunnyBee shipper, crap). Poor Ruby, having to wear heels. Don't worry, Ozpin will keep you company.

Episode 7

This one gets the runner up for my favorite episode. Alternatively, I give it the title "Team Leaders Know What's Up."

Jaune, you may be a dumbass, but you're the rare "Surprisingly Competent Dumbass With A Heart Of Gold," and you get my respect for that. Being socially awkward with Ruby? Comedy gold. Putting things into perspective for Neptune? Props, my dude. Comforting Pyrrha? Friendship goals (even though it should be more than friendship goals, but hey, you put on the dress, I'll give you that). Nice dance moves, by the way, JNPR.

As for Ruby... drinking Jaune's punch? Iconic. Noticing Cinder sneaking away? Nice. Fighting her in heels of all things? You, my dear red reaper, are on another level. A shame that Ironwood couldn't get there faster and that Cinder had to bail, but oh well.

Also: Penny continues to be heckin' adorable. I will never NOT stan.

Episode 8

HEAR YE, HEAR YE, THE NOBLE DOG ZWEI HAS GRACED US WITH HIS ADORABLE PRESENCE. Tremble before his ability to fit in boxes and melt Weiss' heart. Oh, and RWBY gets exposed to Ozpin, but surprise! Even Ozpin doesn't have to play by the rules! Though that could get him in trouble with Ironwood later...

Why does this show keep showing me characters that I want to get to know better in record time!? Team CFVY looks so interesting, and it's nice to see Velvet again! Ooh, I hope we see them more later...

Also, Professor Oobleck, I know we saw a bit of you in Volume 1, and I wish we got to know you better. You seem delightful.

Episode 9

Okay, my previous statement of DOCTOR Oobleck still stands. I love this chaotic fast man.

He's both funny AND deep! His reaction to Zwei? Comedy gold! Him picking apart RWBY's motives and the Grimm? Disturbingly thought provoking, but enjoyable. Also, Ruby, you're great, but you're not entirely a genius, you're just a little bit lucky.

In conclusion: there are a lot of characters to stan in RWBY. Dr. Oobleck is one of them.

Episode 10

We learn about WBY's motivations, now excuse me while I go crying in the club right now.

OH NO, RUBY GOT KIDNAPPED! AND SHE DOESN'T HAVE HER SCYTHE! FRICK, it's a mindset kind of deal! Without her scythe, she thinks she's useless! Oh, and Roman's there too, that's not good.

...that is REALLY not good, Oobleck! Get down there, all of you! Wait, is your thermos... your WEAPON!? HOW THE FU-

(Sidenote, I looked up the name, since most weapons have them and I'm impatient for them getting name dropped. "Antiquity's Roast," eh? Fitting...)

Episode 11

So... this episode.

Poor Ruby. She failed to fight back, she almost ran away but then it turns out Melodic Cudgel is also a GRAPPLING HOOK. Thank god Yang and company finally busted their way in.

...why are Roman and the White Fang going kamikaze with those train car bombs? Oh right, the Grimm. Crap, that ain't good.

Ah, Oobleck. You may have accidentally repeated Ruby's line, but a swig of your thermos/club/flamethrower and then using it to bat Zwei into a cannonball of death redeemed you!

So Neo's back. She's skilled, sassy, has something going on with her eyes... Oh boy, Yang's getting outclassed by a pipsqueak. That's gotta suck.

Does every faunus (baring Blake, Sun, etc.) hate the SDC? Seriously Weiss, what did your father DO!?

Roman, do not get flirty with Blake. Junior tried something similar with Yang way back in the Yellow Trailer, and he got socked in the face. You deserve that kick in the head.

Oh look, Yang's mom is here! Nice, now Neo can't kill her (don't you dare, you little ice cream, I swear...). Oh. OH. That's a big sword. Yeah, ya better run, Neo. You ain't winnin' this fight. Great, now I want to know what Yang's mom's deal is. Figures she just warped away afterwards...

Episode 12

Now THIS is my favorite episode.

Look at that, Jaune's getting good instincts! And it's nice that Team JNPR was able to help RWBY. Also nice that Jaune can actually kill a Grimm now. Good job, man. You earned Pyrrha's smile of approval.

As much as I'm wary of the antagonist trio, I'll admit, they can fight good. Especially Emerald, her guns are sick. Why am I warming up to her so fast? What is this magic!?

...CFVY. CFVY. WHY ARE Y'ALL SO BADASS? Seriously, Yatsuhashi's carying an entire sword and a half. Fox just pulled a Ren and caused a Grimm to explode. Coco... God, Coco- WHY DOES RUBY HAVE SO MANY QUEENS, FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!?

"You just destroyed my favorite clothing store. Prepare to die."

I-FREAKING-CONIC!

And she just murders Grimm with a BRIEFCASE. That turns into a GATTLING GUN. BECAUSE OF COURSE IT'S ALSO A GUN. (BTW, Gianduja is a really cool name for it.)

So all in all, Volume 2 was even better than Volume 1, in my opinion. It's like they took the first volume and amped it up to 11. Longer runtimes, great comedy, great action sequences, great CHARACTERS. It's just a complete trip! 10/10, would ride again. Welp, it's getting late, so I can't immediately start Volume 3. But what Volume 2 gave us is good enough to tide me over.

Lucy: 

🌹 Where in the world does your OC feel most at home? Is there any reason why? If it’s not the place they were born, where were they born? Is there a certain somebody that makes them feel at home where ever they may be? What does home mean to them?

Home for Lucy is whenever she is sure no one from the fair distance and within same walls wants to stab her in her sleep. Nuka World under Harrison protection will be the most home-ish and safe place since also after the disciples wiping she did prove her worth and loyalty to the raider’s goals and now they no longer need to sleep with one eye open with Gage since Harrison is patrolling and staying up all nights and gang leaders might not have such a strong urge to betray her. Later eventually she will set up base back in Sanctuary in her mother’s home since they will need second solid base in Commonwealth and somewhere deep in the woods still lies a pre-war secret lab section  that will be important for Harrison in order to understand the experiment and maintain his power as well as his body. A place where she can put down her guard, where she can sense presence of her boss and be sure Gage is also nearby will always be worth calling home but there are few places like this since later on her reputation will be more knowledgeable to wasteland folks and she will be on wanted list of sort. 

So yeah what can i say...away from Nuka World home announcement for them would sound like so:  A small blond lady along with a raider thug and tall grumpy old man looking for a warm cave to duck in without worry of being pitchforked by angry local settlers and half of the commonwealth. Ain’t many places they can call home, poor fuckers. 

🍂 Does your OC enjoy hugs? What do they do as a show of affection for: their friends, their family, their significant other(s) or for strangers? Over all what are they like with receiving affection from others?

Oh she secretly loves hugs and affection of any kind but keeps in mind its better to leave them for very few and private moments. Besides how the hell that would make her look in society she is stuck with. Harrison and type of her job forced her to strip her mind from emotions as they were useless and making her weak but once the events calmed down they do come at peace and leave that part behind. With friends in public like Lizzie she will bump against their shoulder with a smile or chuckle, its safe in public and still reflects that she feels good in their company. With Harrison she will just bury herself in deep fatherly hug when gone for a few days, especially he is very tall and big so its like hugging a yao guai just in a brown thick coat. And because she never had a good father experience that hug will mean a world to them. With Gage she knows he has a hard time to be soft fucker but as the time goes on, the affection switches from small things, like checking his patch out and forcing to help taking care of his wounds too, not just hers, into letting down the bitch tough face and raider stiff attitude. Inviting him for the drink, just two of them, closing the distance and ending up just resting against his chest or sleeping hugged to his back. If the urge is strong and rules can go fuck themselves she will just charge at him and let all that sweet stuffed in her chest love drown him. 

As for people who didn’t reach yet friend level any kind of touching contact which doesn’t involve knife is for her a way to show affection. Be it soft fist bump in their arm, fast shoulder shake or very split millisecond side hug. Hell, even if she smiles at them its already a good sign, and in a humane soft manner, not the smirky bitch one. If her resting bitch face goes away its already a fantastic sign and promising future she won’t stab them later on. 

💐 How does your OC handle being unwell or forced to rest in bed? Who cares for them and in what ways? Does your OC enjoy being doted on or are they a terrible patient? Reversed: is your OC good at taking care of others who are ill or in need?

If you tell her to do that when there is shiet to be done and there almost always is in her mind you will see a constant middle finger, raised from the bed and the moment you turn around or leave she will be gone, sneaking away to get at least her knife and try to leave outside. She was raised to fulfill mission, no matter what so a stupid cold or broken bone is suppose to nail her in place. Fuck no, she can’t right? She can’t be that weak even if pain sweats her eyes. Gage learns slowly her urges as with each park taken he sees her taking extreme solutions to many situations, not thinking about possible bad outcomes so when the really bad cold catches her or she got badly wounded again he will be the one yelling at her to stop that shit. Aside from usual care like shoving injections or closing wounds and occasional cooking he will be constantly ensuring her that she can close both eyes shut and get an actual restful sleep, that he is on the watch and nothing out there waits to kill her when she ain’t looking. World neither will fall apart in flames if she will be gone in dreams for few hours. With Harrison come back that part is becoming easier as the simple sharp look in his eyes of mixed care and threat is convincing enough to put that knife down and shove her ass back in bed. With Gage guarding the Fizztop and Harrison overlooking the rest of the town there is no way of sneaking out and in this case it would be a bit ungrateful since they both put so much effort for her. 

She is better at taking care of others than herself tho if these are in her social circle. She doesn’t need to force herself, it comes natural to her. She will switch in a second from a vicious bitch to a caring bitch. Trying even to overcome her lack of cooking skills to deliver something warm and edible to that person if need. If she can’t get that fucking soup perfect for shit she will threaten and kidnap a local masterchef of sort to make and teach her how to do it. She means well but...ya remember her empathy can have weird and extreme outcomes.

Lol imagining like someone being under her care when sick and they go to the bathroom and spot a chef cook in a kitchen chained to a fucking stove cooking some good shit and Lucy siting at the table reading a cooking recipe and pointing a pistol at them.          

🌺 What does your OC do to calm down when they’re scared or after a nightmare? Do they have any special comfort items or need to be reassured by a specific person? How do they handle this if they’re alone?

Normally she would drink or take calmex right away but she slowly tries to give up on that addiction as they do more harm than good. Having Gage or Harrison around will help to break that thought if she can either crawl up to Porter’s bed or wake him up to ensure that everything is real and alright or kindly ask Harrison to watch over her as he doesn’t need to sleep. Maybe he looks like a nightmare in a dark but its her nightmare she is familiar with.

If alone tho she will struggle, she hates to be alone for too long. If fear strikes her at battlefield she will try to cover her fear and damp it down with anger instead, psycho or fury could help and she isn’t addicted to it as to calmex so that’s one way out but stupid. If its just a nightmare in a middle of a night she won’t go immediately to sleep but walk around, talking to herself and convincing it was just a dream, grab a mannequin, do a silly dance with it, anything silly to relax a mind and take it off the stress and that nightmare. A shot of booze won’t hurt as long as it ends up on just one but it rarely does. Reassurance is her best ally in these beside she is too big of a girl for comforting items like an old plush puppet found in some certain treehouse back in Sancturary....right...riiiiight? ._.

💫What is your favorite fact about this character and why?

I think the simple fact that she is kind of evil oc and she knows about it. I don’t think there is many characters of this kind out there but i might be wrong. Since childhood i was trying to strike best - peaceful outcomes in games and so on but later on i started to sympathize with actual villains, be it games and stories. They can be full of surprises and complex in a interesting way, prove to be actually powerful allies as well and in general they talk to me more than a basic superman trying to strike for a world peace.

Oh ye, ofc she deserves better, she wants hugs, friends, she is bad but she wants a warm treatment too from time to time, she still have emotions ;c  Me, the creator, Uni, i’m horrible to her. I burned her hands too, like noooooo you can’t just wear gloves all the time for no reason, lets do smth bout it that will fit with all that dedication ya willing to push yourself in a fight no matter the consequences. Get burned bitch. Anyway, i’m taking her off the calmex addiction, giving her Harrison back as a better man who wants to protect her and do braids on her hair and softening the stinky to a level of a warm wet piece of trash, maybe getting some actual friends on a way. The pages on a start were focus more on a action and game lore kind off and just parks themselves but now with last page i finally get to actually break down and slow the shit to get to more emotional level, at least i hope to get it that way. 

Now Harrison time:

🍁 Where does your OC go when they need to have some time to themselves? Would they ever have their own “comfort corner” filled with all the things they like? Do they have a favorite spot outside that feels like its theirs and theirs alone?

Sadly he will be very lost at the start to find this kind of spot as he popped into the world from nowhere, just finally doing the separation from Lucy to a nearby old synth skeleton in a heat of a fight situation. Since the disciples base got a vacancy and cleaning it up feels too much of an effort for the rest of gangs he decided to make this place his comfort zone as its fairly close to Feit base but still separated behind walls, no windows to peek in for curious ones. He can’t sleep so he has a plenty of time to make it his corner. The only things he posses are his memories so he will just meditate there and surround himself with all the good moments from the past, adding the new ones to the collection, keeping his humanity on check and all the urges balanced. Also trying new tricks with his powers feels safe to do it there, the telekinetic ones especially since the place is spacey and there ain’t much to break. He doesn’t want to go too far away even if he needs a moment, he always has in the back of his head the need to be close when problems arise.

Personally on a side note i struggle to think of an explanation to the Nuka World leaders and overall people there as to how Lucy will explain to them...who the fuck he is and why he is there and where he came from and why give him a disciple base. Like...saying a truth to Gage is easier since they run together but the rest? She can’t even say he is her lost-found father since they don’t even look like family. 

🌸 What are some of their favorite things and why? List as many as you can think of!

There won’t too many as he just got off but some basic stuff i know for now:

- sweet snacks, whiskey and smokes as he still remembers these tastes from pre-war: just being softie for these small habits and diet sins

- being in charge, keeping order around due to his profession, even if times changes he still keeps the attitude and he just likes it

- training the newbie raiders, pointing out mistakes to Porter, advising Lucy on some combat moves and tips: it might feel like he is being proud, all knowing but he actually is hell of a experienced smart fighter, don’t get fooled by his age either, he just enjoys training people under him and see them improve  

- proving Porter wrong: oh boy they really don’t like each other at the start

- doing dem braids, he starts to have a soft spot for going father mode

- even if he isn’t fully human he takes care of his “shell”, perfectly shaving, keeping his shirts clean and smooth, overall he enjoys that “self care” routine even it it might feel silly in the wasteland and due to the fact who he is 

💦 If you as the writer could erase one traumatic event from this OC’s life what would it be and why?

Probably killing his son. The experiment would get to him one way or another since he would get suspicious what kind of shady business is going on in police department and asking too many questions and stuffing nose in corners he shouldn’t would eventually lead anyway to his assassination and still giving his body for that experiment resulting in same outcome but the sudden trauma and speed of events is what pushed him out of there, taking control of himself and situation also resulting in his nature softening and toning down, knowing he doesn’t have much left and it can be lost at any moment.

hamza’s parents have never been great rulers. they aren’t bad ones either, the people don’t hate them per se, it’s just that they are both bad at solving conflict and often either allow themselves to be pushed into a corner or just hand out money to keep people in line. there’s a lot of... not corruption per se but something in the likes of it. as a consequence, over the past 35 years there has been a lot of money ( both legally and illegally ) leaving but not enough coming in. on the surface things are fine, but the cracks are starting to show.

there was always a lot of pressure on hamza’s father to succeed. his mother despised weakness and had a very black or white view of things. right before he was crowned he admitted to his wife that he didn’t feel ready to rule and that he wished they could spend more time just enjoying their early married life with their child.

before hamza and his twin brother came along their parents had two children who died. one was a stillborn and the other choked on food when she was three. honestly, they thought they were cursed and destined not to have children.

by the time hamza and his twin were born when their parents were in their late 30s.

initially, they were both educated to be rulers but it soon just started making sense that hamza’s brother would the one wearing the crown and frankly hamza was perfectly ok with that. he didn’t mind being his right hand man if necessary, but if he picked other people to help him hamza wouldn’t mind. it’s not that he dislikes his family, not at all, it’s that he has always loved the idea of being his own person and not being immediately connected to his family. it's the whole "i'm so much more than my family & my ancestors, i'm my own person" thing.

the boys have always been very alike in nature, both social and slightly boisterous, truly two peas in a pod, it’s always been the fine details of their personalities which set them apart. for example, hamza always comes off as the most irresponsible sibling but when it comes down to it he’s incredibly dutiful and takes “the greater good” into consideration, whereas his brother is seen as the most responsible and diplomatic one but usually generally follows his heart in the end.

even though his brother is the one under the spotlight most of the time, hamza has never minded attention and always stops to chat with the press (which some people think is attention seeking and hamza doesn’t care to correct them, however, the truth is he’s just being polite/nice? they’re just doing their job and hamza doesn’t mind giving them smth quick and irrelevant to talk about and make their jobs easier). 

both brothers are popular in the press only you’re more likely to find his brother’s name in respected newspapers and hamza’s in gossip magazines lmao

hamza very much had a talk shit get hit mentality when he was younger. he has grown out of it (primarily because of his experience in the army)... for the most part.

he has an odd relationship with food. he was a very chubby child and deep down he’s scared of putting on weight. he often indulges when it comes to alcohol but he’s very careful with what he eats and works out regularly.

he doesn’t smoke nor do drugs. “my body is a temple” etc etc etc. also he thinks only boring people need drugs so there’s that!

when he was in his late teens some paparazzi got photos of him leaving a nightclub, completely plastered, making out with some girl and then later he and his friends were stopped by police for being rowdy and publicly indecent and the whole thing was a small scandal. hamza framed one of the photos published and still has it in his living room. it pisses his parents off to no end but he just finds it funny. 

he has always loved a good joke. and a good party. it’s true that he has some hedonistic tendencies but they’re not AS BAD as people think. 

IT’S IMPORTANT TO NOTE that, as opposed to his brother, hamza never had to face  his personality flaws and shortcomings head-on, and there’s parts of his personality that he has never gotten the chance to fully explore yet and likely never will unless he becomes more politically active or until he finds out how bad the country’s finances are. if that happens, he’s going to surprise a lot of people - both for good reasons ( he’s a good leader and strategist ) and bad ones ( he can be very vengeful and has no time for bullshit, those who mess with his family and country will suffer the consequences. all the checks his father wrote to keep people in line? he would close that tap and piss a lot of people off ). politically speaking, hamza has never had to step up to the plate, he has never had to be a serious person, but if he does, if he’s forced into that role ... it’ll certainly be special.

he has always been an adventurous and independent kid, always very sure of himself, and never minded spending time away from his family.

actually, when he was a kid he wanted to be an archaeologist.

had like, a bunch of gfs growing up. loved the company, enjoyed giving attention just as much as receiving it, hated when they stuck around for too long or tried to impose on him

surprisingly, hamza is actually incredibly loyal and ride or die for those he considers worthy and he is not nearly as irresponsible and self-centered as he comes across. he also gives great advice and is a good listener. 

hamza is a really fast reader and he was always a decent student but he never liked school, he always found it too boring ( he often played pranks and spread rumours to keep himself entertained - he didn’t take any of it seriously ). he did study but just enough to pass and get okay grades. as soon as it was possible he joined the army, while his brother pursued higher education.

the first time hamza realised that there was likely something wrong with the country’s finances was when he was in the army. back then things weren’t as serious and he spoke to his parents and his brother about it. he was told things were under control, and he believed that his brother (and parents) knew how to handle everything. or he wanted to believe it. looking back, he’s not sure which one was it.

when hamza was in his early 20s he was presumed dead for a whole year. this isn’t public knowledge ( although there were random reports - “conspiracy theories” - about it and the journalists were either fired or paid off to keep quiet ) as his parents kept the whole thing under wraps. the plan was to keep saying he was on missions until it was impossible to keep the facade going and then they would make it public that he had died in some grandiose self-sacrificing manner.

surprisingly (once he returned home) hamza understood his parents decision, it was his brother who was beside himself. his brother had been a nervous wreck for the past year and was constantly at war with their parents about telling the public the truth. hamza’s disappearance was quite traumatic for his brother.

recently his brother has become more aware of the state of the country’s finances (hamza’s still not fully aware of how bad it is yet) sometimes when his brother has a drink too many he talks about abdicating / not wanting to be king and hamza always laughs like “heavy is the head...” and never takes him too seriously but lmao maybe he should.

one of the reasons why hamza doesn’t take his brother’s words too seriously is because he always seemed to fit the role of king just fine.  another reason is because his brother didn’t have to be at the summit as he could be in a relationship right now, but he ended things which hamza interpreted as the relationship not being serious ( unbeknownst to hamza this is also one of the reasons why his brother is thinking of abdicating, he regrets ending the relationship and doesn’t want to marry a stranger )

hamza has been nonchalantly vocal about how little interest he has in getting married. not just to his parents and friends but when talking to the press as well. he doesn’t take any of it too seriously, primarily because he’s not the one who is going to be king.

he likes having his space and independence. he has mild ptsd ( he’s been working on it for literal years tho so it’s not as bad as it used to be ) and doesn’t like to have to explain himself to people. he has insomnia, and pools, lakes, etc are a big trigger for him.

Even within a clan of oddballs there are outcasts...

Just a sketch. I plan to finish this but I wanted to ramble about each dragon since there is a story behind this pic. It is the day Reaper showed up at Nightwind and was taken into the ‘Undesirables’ or the dragons that don’t even fit within Nightwind but are still living on Nightwind’s land, albeit on the edges. They are murders, assassins, unstable and dangerous individuals be it from their one choices or just by the hand they were dealt. Like everything as long as they do not cause harm to the clan Lightbreath doesn’t care about them living on the land and sharing food. Specially since they pay the Guardian back with money some get from their... Jobs. 

First is Nightdaze, the Wildclaw. An Assassin raised by a harsh teacher it is honestly all Nightdaze knows. He is a crack shot with his bow and always gets his target. In the day he is a hunter for the clan. He is the one most integrated into the man clan but thanks to his true job he is an Undesirable and acts almost like a leader of them being the one who makes deals with Lightbreath and such. Actually a very sweet boy who really just knows how to kill

Then there is Reaper, the Imperial. I mentioned her the other day and she is a Imperial who has turned on her mother and ends up in Nightwind looking for Light loyals. She is allowed to stay but under the watch of Nightdaze. Her Runes also take more of a look of glowing freckles

Then there is Prophet, the male Pearlcatcher. He is a cyborg but not by his own volition. He was kidnapped when he was young and turned into this twisted half metal form. He is currently looking for who was responsible for his condition. Along with Reaper he is the darkest of the Undesirable and the one Lightbreath trusts the least

Hammond is the Guardian(I realized I forgot his beard asgdshf) and Prophet is unfortunately his charge. Prophet is very mean to poor Hammond but like all Guardian’s the charge comes before him. He is a very sad man... he doesn’t deserve this

Blacksun is the Ridgeback and a jerk. The youngest of the Undesirables and is a cocky jerk. He, like Nightdaze, is actually more a part of the main clan as well being a fisherman. Odd for a Ridgeback not to mention a fire one but Blacksun loves water oddly... he is annoying and is often bugging Hammond or while in the main land bugging the older Ridgeback Crystalkeeper

Dreamfall is the female Pearlcatcher and is one of the only 2 who is an outcast out of her own power. Her magical makeup of being a Light breed but born in Water makes her very unstable. He is constantly leaking black spit and her sink is coming a part at the seams showing glowing skin under her red scales. Is honestly a sweet girl but her bodies nature makes it safer for her to stay on the outskirts

Finally the Spiral, Twistabyss. Like Dreamfall he is only a Undesirable cause of his magical makeup. He is slightly unhinged and cause of his arcane blood he twists into other dimensions and it sometimes causes problems. He is friends with a Coatl from the main clan tho

Vampire x Hunter Himi Au part 8 (Lets dance!)

Every year, the town that lays between the headquarters of the hunters and the mansion of Ri-Ils Vampire clan holds a great ball shortly before Christmas and everyone is invited, as long as he/she dresses up nicely. It is almost some sort of tradition, that some Vampires hide among the guests and amuse themselves with the fact that no one has just the slightest idea what danger lurks between them - until they bite someone and the hunters smell the blood, that is. To not provoke the hunters, since Ri-Ils clan still is unsure if the huntress that escaped from them will reveal the way to their mansion, the leader of the greatest clan had decided that only he and his sons will be part of the party and that no one will be bitten that night - tho they might at least chose their next victim there.

When Gary informs Green about that via a secret letter, she goes to Firey and begs her to give Siberu another chance. Firey herself, is still insecure what to do - although she had revealed already that she can lead no one to Ri-Ils mansion, since she can’t remember the way, do to the fact that she did not pay much attention when she run away like someone would chase after her, plus it  was dark - since she still thinks getting rid of Siberu and Gary would be better for all of them, but she just can’t bring herself to tell anyone or do anything herself, because of her own feelings for Siberu and of course for her best friend Green, who said time and time again how much she loves the brothers and especially Gary.

Reculantly Firey gives in and agrees to meet with Siberu at the ball and allow him to prove her wrong about the fact that she thinks that he is a monster. But it is still weird for her to stand infront of him after what happened between them. Even more, when he asked her for a dance, after Green and Gary long went to the dancefloor, looking absolutely happy in each others arms. Firey refused at first, but Sibersu argument that they would fit in more into the scenery if they would dance was good, so in the end, she agreed and they started to dance too. Siberu was not exactly apologizing for what he did to her, but he was at least trying to explain things to her. Firey honestly did not understand everything, especially since Siberu had a hard time explaining things without giving away to much about himself, his feelings or the clan, but what she got was, that Siberu only wanted to protect Green, which is the same thing Firey wants. But she is still not sure that it is good if a Vampire is loving and looking out for the Hunter-Princess. Siberu tells her, that she should know, that he and his brother never kill the humans they drink from, they only make sure they forget about the encounter and don’t harm them any further. He tries to explain that Vampire drinking from Humans to survive, is not different from Humans and Hunters killing animals to feet from their meet. And it is not like Vampires could live from animal-blood or anything like that, they need human blood to survive. Tho half-breeds like Siberu and Gary do not need as much and as often blood as a full-breed like Ri-Il does and Siberu explains that this is one of the many reasons why it had taken Firey so long to figure out who they are, because Vampires who had just drunken blood smell like human blood and a certain kind of hormon that only vampires produce and only hunters can smell and that is how Hunters find their next victim. But Siberu and Gary have been meeting with Green countless times already before Firey found out and neither she, nor any other Hunter had realized that they were Vampires, because they never went to Green until 24 hours after they last had fed on a human. Siberu also tells Firey that he and Gary are half humans and that being with Green - who sometimes just wants to be a normal girl and not a hunter-princess - feels like they were just normal humans. All of them. Just meeting, having fun, fooling around, having natural normal human feelings for each other. Doing stuff they usually can not do, because Hunters and Vampires are raised to be what they are and act like what they are from the moment they are born. Of course Firey too knows the feeling, although she was raised from Humans for most of her life before the hunters found her and realized, that she has been the descendant of one of the few powerful hunters with the most “Angelblood” in his vains, who vanished some time ago - to live a normal life, with a normal family as it had turned out then.

In any case, Firey agreed to keep the brothers secret and to not interfere with any of Greens plans to meed the boys again as long as Siberu promises her that he and his brother will never put Green in danger. The red haired Vampire hesitates, because deep in his heart he knows that he can not  make that promise. But seeing how happy Green and Gary are together and how... nice... Firey felt in his arms, he was unable to say that and decided to lie for the greater good and promised Firey to keep Green save - which he was of course planng to do, but he was not sure if it would work, with Ri-Il constantly watching them. Plus, Gary already mentioned once, that Ri-Il only allows all this to happen, because he has a greater plan, that needed Green to trust those two boys. But with all the heavy stuff out of the way, finally everyone could enjoy the ball. Green relived that the differences were out of the way, Gary just happy to be finally able to be with Green again and Siberu asking Firey, while slowly dancing with her in his arms, if she would join their meetings every once in a while, because he really, really wants to see her again... and tease her then.

the family aspect is the part I'm most interested in tbh and ofc it's the one we know nothing about. lmao. I'm in the same boat. i want to plan stuff for once and i feel like i can't bc we don't know these ppl or how they fit. and i worry it's going to feel less like my own character bc of it.

the problem with being so mum on everything is that fans don’t have enough cool shit to get distracted by, and instead keep picking apart what little you’ve released until they notice every flaw. ultimately the less info you release, the more they either imagine the worst (making them not want to buy the game and wary for its flaws if they do) or build it up so much they’re disappointed with the real product

anyway, as far as the ryder family goes--i’m gonna warn for mild spoilers here even tho i’ve avoided watching the “first [x amount of time] of me:a!!” videos past checking out the cc and how it affects papa ryder (answer: from what i can tell, he changes skin/eye color based on your ryder, and his facial features rely on what preset you used, much like the hawkes--that’s why the skin color options are limited, so you don’t end up with a black albino dad (which, of course, assumes you don’t want that, but que sera sera))  

my point is, i don’t know much, but i have picked up a few general facts about the family that seem fairly solid for character-building purposes

alec ryder is something of a tech genius in addition to legendary soldier, given that he also apparently helped with sam’s creation? and was dishonorably discharged for it? 

at least the kids were born after their dad decided to take a potentially one-way trip thru the charon relay

sounds like he’s kind of critical--there’s a bit where pc!scott says something is “pretty good” and alec replies “pretty good isn’t good enough” (to which scott replies “yes, sir”), and i’ve heard another part described where it sounds like alec begrudgingly praises you for taking the exploratory, roundabout path, and you can respond sarcastically that “that is what i was trained for” 

your mom is dr. ellen ryder. she didn’t come with you to andromeda (it sounds like she died before the game), but she was aware of its existence, since your dad says that she made him promise to take both kids to andromeda (would he not have if she hadn’t made him promise? no clue, nor do i know if he would have shown hesitation out of a sense of protection or not thinking they were up to the task or what). she was the original creator of the ai sam.

mateus silva was previously mentioned as being the namesake of a planet in the euler system, described as “leader of the prospector team that unearthed the Prothean Archives on Mars” 

my headcanon is also somewhat impacted by the training histories--basically, starting classes. they’re almost like service histories, since they describe what role you played as part of the alliance, and though you can specialize however you want, i personally like the sound of “leader,” which is basically a sentinel:

“You were a team player and natural leader in the Alliance military, working closely with your cohorts for their safety and the safety of others.” 

besides putting me in the basic class i wanna play as, that sounds like exactly the sort of person alec was seemingly raising his kids to be? elite yet well-rounded, a leader as well as a soldier and tech specialist, using every skill available to get the job done. although on that note, the fact that both kids have innate biotic potential makes me wonder if alec didn’t purposely expose them to element zero in the womb, even knowing the likely cancerous effects, which conjures shades of henry lawson, but maybe i’m reading too much into this 

anyway, going in, all i had was “hey, since bioware is giving me a dad in this game, what if i make him look like my other favorite space dad besides anderson, bill adama”--which, y’know, once people try out more presets we’ll see how much that’s possible, but actually works kinda well given the “following in distant military dad’s footsteps” drama that both lee and zak went thru. in this case you could argue sara/meeley is lee and scott is zak, in terms of potential vs desire to do dad proud

Of Snakes and Men

Even if this is the first PC that I haven't played yet, it's still one of the very first characters I thought of, especially cause I didn't know for sure how evil our DM would be and if or when something bad could happen to my poor Rogue Weretiger or any other member of the party. My cautious side in that moment pretty much pushed me into choosing what my creative side thought of. That's how I started looking into Paladins. [Like usual, gotta point out that this character was thought for a revised version of the Forgotten Realms. Also, gonna talk about him as if he's already a 6th LV character.]

Yuan-ti Pureblood Paladin of Hoar (Oath of Conquest) with Soldier background (Infantry)

Noteworthy Proficiencies (as chosen by me) -Saving Throws: Wisdom, Charisma; -Skills: Athletics, Intimidation (from soldier background), Insight, Persuasion; -Tools: One type of gaming set (I chose dice set), Land vehicles (from soldier background);

Noteworthy Random Features (of his race) -Innate Spellcasting: knows the poison spray cantrip. Can cast animal friendship only on snakes an unlimited number of times. Starting at 3rd lv can cast suggestion once per long rest. -Magic Resistance: has advantage on saving throws againts spells and other magical effects. -Poison Immunity: is immune to poison damage and the poisoned condition.

Something about his backstory Born from an affair from a Yuan-ti pureblood spy and a high ranking military man, I wanted this PC to be very much subjugated by his father while growing up. That's why first of all I gotta talk for a little bit about his father, a very strict General from the Calishites' army. As soon as he found out about the betrayal of his lover, he reported her to his superiors (which then put her to death), even if their son was a newly born baby. Thinking at first the baby was just human, he took care of him and really started to love him; when after some months the baby showed for the first time signs of being a pureblood too, he decided he would use his own son as a weapon in the on-going conflict with the Yuan-ti in the area where he lived. He still tried to make his son the most human possible tho, giving him a traditional Calishite name (if you want to go with what I thought for him, it's Aamir yn Serkan el Kassem; the Calishite naming "tradition" I referred to can be found here) and forcing him to pray to the gods all the other military men prayed before and after battle; at the same time he still gave him a very strict and military based upbringing, especially since they both lived most of the time in military camps in dangerous areas. His father obviously wanted him to have a brilliant career in the Calishite army, but after finding out about what happened to his mother in a dream brought to him by Hoar himself, he decided to become a paladin of said God. He left the military camp in the middle of the night and started his journey to truly become the hand of the The Doombringer.

Ability Scores (+2 Charisma, +1 Intelligence) While I did roll like usual the ability scores for this PC, I'm just gonna talk about this part bearing in mind the standard array from now on. But be my guest and roll those dice if your DM is okay with it! So, I struggled a little bit only for the two lower scores for this character. I knew he would obviously be charismatic and strong, it just had to be a thing with his military upbringing. I was just questioning if I wanted him to be wise or smart, and at the end of the day I kinda thought strategy, the actual “skill” a military man needs, seems like something more wisdom based than intelligence based. Which is why I decided to pick Intelligence as his lower score and wisdom as the other really low score, mainly because with all the resistances of the Yuan-ti it just felt stupid to have constitution as the score with the modifier of zero. Which leave the 13 to Dexterity, the 15 to Strength and the 14 to Charisma. Yes, I chose to put the 15 to Strength instead of Charisma cause when I actually updated the ability scores after the ability scores improvement from the 4th level, both Dexterity and Strength got a +1.

A more in-dept look into the gameplay/roleplay Okay, so, first thing first, let's get the one thing you are all wondering out of the way: why the hell would a paladin of Hoar not choose an oath of Vengeance? The answer to that question is mainly in what I believe is at the core of this character’s nature. While he does believe he's on a mission to become the “hand of Hoar”, he's still very much conflicted between what he is and what is father wanted him to be. He did not want to feel any emotion, and he felt like he did not need to feel them because of the kind of life he lived in the military camps he grew up in. Also, it was in his nature as a Yuan-ti not to feel anything of that kind! Why would he feel some emotions, then? Cause while his father always repeated him to be strong and unperturbed in front of any danger, while he still was very strict with his son, he still had moments in his life where he would show affection toward his son in his own way. That made his poor son feel things he did not want, nor most of the time understand. Most of all, he did not understand what he felt when his father was proud of his success. In other words, he does not know that deep down he is a little bit power hungry, cause he wants approval from his father even now that he doesn't know he actually is angry with him cause he also feels betrayed by him for what he did to his mother. Also, becoming the “hand of Hoar” is just another way to feel legitimated for being sometimes a total piece of shit when he proclaims himself the true herald of justice. So, when I said that he's very charismatic, I mean that most of the times he's charismatic in the most wrong way possible. Which is why it might be difficult to play this PC without annoying your party. You really need to find the right balance between being a jerk and being useful so the party will not want to kill you. You really gotta try to understand when you actually need to try and be charming and a total dick in other situations. Most of all you gotta remember you need to “uphold true and fitting justice maintaining the spirit of the law, not the letter of it”*, following the Dogma of Hoar himself. (In case you are wondering there, yes, he's lawful neutral.)  As for the more technical side of things, I chose Dueling as his fighting style, just cause I also gave him a shield if he wants to use it when he's not using his free hand to cast spells (even tho he should already have an AC of 18 with the standard chain mail armor). For the future of this character, other than some more ability scores improvements, with all these features I see befitting to choose maybe either the sentinel of the shield master feats. If you really push the "leader" side of the character and make him a little bit less of an asshole maybe Inspiring leader could be a nice idea too. Or, you know, could go with it even with him still being an asshole; it would be funny to see the entire party mostly ignoring him while he tries to make this kinda speech that's to supposed to be a "rally the troops" kinda thing and completely failing at it just because everyone thinks he's an asshole. As far as spells are concerned, while I do think you should pick those you think would be useful for the day, I gotta say I think compelled duel, wrathful smite and branding smite really stands out to me as a couple of go-to spells for this character in particular.

WOOOAH! That was way more words that I thought I would type for this dude. Anyway, hope you like this PC and enjoyed either reading this or trying to play him in one of your games! After all it would be super interesting to see if your DM might be cruel enough to tell you Hoar thinks you need to punish this PC’s father and kill him... That sounds like a nice enough story arc to me! *btw, that quote comes straight out of "Faith and Pantheons”, one of the 3rd edition campaign accessory for the Forgotten Realms campaign setting. Like I said, our DM used to play 3.5 so she likes to use lore from all of the previous editions if it’s generic enough. 5e is just missing all of those nice little extra things so we like to use the old stuff... You can ignore it if you want, but it does add a little pizzazz into the mix if I do say so myself.
