It was common knowledge that no one was to enter the Forest on the West end gate of the Village. Those who went in, never came out. What was beyond the shadowy cover of thick foliage was unknown, and those who dared enter were considered dead. So of course Tommy took an instant interest, when it was sung by a bard at the Winter Festival.
  Within the forest of the dark twisted wood,  A place no one can go, or ever should.
Lies a creature of mischief, filled with dire deceit,  Who wanders the woods, hunting to eat.
To the people who enter, full of pride and valour,  Though they see themself brave, will all hide and cower.
For the creature that lurks knows your presence is near.  It finds all who venture, through the smell of their fear.
And as it speaks, hot breathe spilling from their chin,  You know you’ve lost from its treacherous grin.
So listen to my tale, I tell all to thee   Leave the forest alone, let what’s within just be.
For all who enter have never come out.  Each one a strike, in the beast's victim count.
 Well if one song could scream ‘danger’ it was this one, and danger was Tommy’s middle name! The boy at 12 years old knew an adventure when he saw one! A strange unknown setting shrouded in mystery with a potential target to slay? Oh what a perfect opportunity to prove himself to the people of the village if he could bring back the head of whatever lived within the Forest. He’s seen many hunters bring back the heads of deadly creatures from beyond the village walls, and be praised for their services and bravery in protecting the village. But to bring back the head of a menacing monster, preventing the village from expanding their assets to the forest would surely result in an entire parade to celebrate his conquest!
 The young boy had eagerly gathered his satchel and a wooden sword before rushing to the West end gate. He would prove his worth, he would!!! For no one is greater than the one and only Tommy Danger Kraken Innit! But of course a quest for glory was not one so simple. The West end gate to the Forest was sealed off and had been un-open nor used for a long time. Heavy reinforced iron gates were chained and locked at their operating point, to prevent anyone from venturing out, or anything from getting in. But would this stop the great Tommyinnit? NO! Using all his might, he tried to break the chains, pouring all this strength into breaking the chains with his wooden sword. But after the 13th or 14th try, he decided to spare the chain and look for an alternative exit.
 “You win this battle chain…” the young boy had muttered, as he began to search the surrounding walls.
 One benefit of the West end gate being so unused was that the walls weren’t attended to or maintained as well as other sections. So it wasn’t long before Tommy had found a gap just big enough for him to squeeze through and onto the otherside. Before him lay the Forest, the tree cover casting an eerie dark shadow. A last chance effort to keep intruders away. Repositioning his satchel, Tommy took a deep breath in and marched forward into the forest's depths, ignoring how his heart pounded as he began to journey deeper into the heart of the Forest. He would find the Beast, and he’d kill it.
 After walking for a while, the thick foliage began to even out and soon light was pouring through the treetops, giving its surrounding a soft, almost magical glow. Seeing this himself, Tommy’s heart slowed as he relaxed and found himself enjoying his new found surroundings. What a wonderful place this would be for the villagers to explore when he returned a hero! When he found a wide enough open clearing, only then did he stop. He’d heard hunters say the best place to find creatures or monsters to battle would be to lure them out into a big open space, and create a false sense of security of having their foe in the open, all the while preparing a surprise attack themselves. When he felt he was ready, Tommy raised his hands to cup around his mouth before shouting:
 “HEY! BIG UGLY MONSTER!!! HERE I AM! COME FIGHT ME!!!”
 He waited a moment, listening intently for the inevitable sound of the monster approaching, but was met with silence. Well that’s okay. They’re probably doing Monster things and are busy. Tommy could wait. He’d be patient if it meant he’d get to make the village proud.
 But as the minutes ticked by, Tommy’s calls were all but left unanswered. He didn’t understand. What could a monster possibly be doing that was more important than battling him?
 “HELLOOOO! MONSTER?? I’M WAITING FOR YOU TO COME FIGHT ME!” He called again.
 Suddenly a crack sounded from behind him, and Tommy whirled around to face the direction of the noise, hands perched on the hilt of his wooden sword prepared to draw it at a moment's notice.
 “FINALLY! I’ve been waiting ages for you to show up!” He said in relief before his eyes settled upon a figure.
 Before him stood a tall man with curly brown hair in a long worn trench coat. Upon his nose were gold circle framed glasses that highlighted his sharp glimmering amber eyes.
“You’re not a monster.” He stated blankly, as his face crinkled into confusion.
 The man gave him a crooked smile. “I’m afraid not.” He said, his voice melodic in a way. “What are you doing in the Forest little one?”
“I’m not a child and I’m here to battle the monster. Isn’t it obvious?” Tommy said huffing, crossing his arms in annoyance. The man looked him up and down before a smirk appeared on their face.
 “I’m not sure a wooden sword is going to be very effective then.” they mused. “Unless the monster you plan on battling is a rabbit.”
 Tommy gasped in offense.
 “You dare underestimate the power of the Great Tommyinnit?”
 “Well I’m just not sure it would be very effective on anything else.” The man replied, stepping more into the clearing. Tommy drew his sword and raised it pointed at the annoying man, as he spoke with confidence.
“It’d be pretty effective at beating up a Wrong-un like you.”
 The man burst out laughing as he doubled over slightly clutching his middle as he did so.
“What on earth is a wrong-un?”
 “People like you thinking amazing people like me are weak. I’ll have you know I’m the strongest man alive d*******.” Tommy squawked in retaliation to the still laughing man as he tried to compose himself.
 “Sure sure. You’re definitely the greatest man alive!” The man said as he began to calm down.
 “I’m sorry for thinking otherwise.”
 “As you should be. No one messes with Tommy and gets away with it.”
 Tommy re-sheathed his sword as the man continued. “So why are you in the Forest to battle a supposed monster? I thought no one was allowed in here?”
 “If I kill the monster and bring back its head to the village, I’ll be treated as a hero and praised by everyone!” Tommy replied eagerly, striking a heroic pose as he did so.
 The strange man's brows furrowed slightly as he looked at Tommy in concern, but Tommy didn’t notice as he continued on. “Then people will like me and I won’t be alone anymore!”
 “Did they send you in here?” The man asked.
 “Nope! I snuck out here all on my own! I had finished all my chores for the day and I wanted to prove myself!” Tommy said proudly. “Why are you out here though? Wait, are you here to battle the monster too?”
 “No, I actually live here.” The man said, raising an arm to scratch the back of his head as he looked away sheepishly.
 “You live here???” Tommy replied eagerly, practically bouncing on the balls of his heels. “Have you seen it?”
 “Once.” The man began, eyes drifting down to look into the boy's sparkling wide blue eyes. “It’s not safe to be out here, but I’ve lived here a long time and know this area well. The monster does not come to this part of the forest often.”
 Tommy’s heart sank. He’d spent so long waiting and the monster barely ever even came to this area? How could he fight them if they never show up? And he couldn’t really journey much further than this either or he would be unable to get back to the Village.
 “Oh.” He said flatly, his shoulders deflating at the realization. The man came forward towards Tommy, stopping till he was just in front of him. They towered over the small boy.
 “I guess the monster might come back one day..” They sighed. Tommy’s face lit up.
 “Really??” he said brightly. “You think so?” The man shrugged his shoulders, giving him a knowing smile.
 “Can I keep coming back until it does?” Tommy asked. The man thought for a moment, looking as if they were debating heavily with themself.
 “I guess so.” Yes! Success! He still had a chance then. With that answer settled, Tommy gathered himself up and turned to leave.
 “I will be back tomorrow then!” He declared proudly, a bright determined smile plastered across his face.
 “See you tomorrow then Tommy.” The man said, turning to watch the small boy leave.
 “See you tomorrow uh, um. What’s your name?” Tommy asked, embarrassed that he hadn’t asked sooner.
 “Wilbur. Wilbur Soot.” The man- Wilbur replied.
 “See ya tomorrow Wilbur!”
 As promised, Tommy returned to the same clearing upon finishing his chores and waited for the monster to arrive. Just as before he called out for them and waited for them to appear. Nothing. That’s okay. Wilbur said they didn’t come around alot. He could wait. He would slay the monster!
 A little while later, Wilbur appeared. Almost a little shocked to see Tommy at all, as if he didn’t expect them to return. But upon seeing the excited young boy, joined him in the clearing to wait.
 “Any sign of them?” Wilbur asked.
 “Not yet.” Tommy replied, as he scanned the surrounding tree line once more.
 “HEY MONSTER! IT’S ME! TOMMYINNIT! COME GET ME!” he yelled once more.
 “Ouch. Give a guy a little warning before you do that.” Wilbur yelped, clutching his ears. “I’ve got sensitive ears.”
 “Oops. Sorry. I’ll try to remember next time.” Tommy replied sheepishly, rubbing the back of his head.
 “So how do you plan to beat this monster?” Wilbur asked inquisitively.
 “Well when they get here, I’m gonna cuss them out for taking so long! Then I’ll draw my sword and slice them into tiny little pieces!” Tommy stated proudly, drawing his sword and posing dramatically, his weapon held high in the air. Wilbur laughed at the funny sight before him, as Tommy turned around to face him, stomping his foot in annoyance.
 “Oi! Quit laughing ya b****!” he said, as he marched over a little way away from the man, stopping next to a tree to sit on the mossy ground.
 “So, what's your favourite colour?” Tommy asked, wanting to change the topic.
 “Blue. Yours?”
 “Red.” They sat in comfortable silence for a bit.
 “You got a favourite animal?” Wilbur asked.
 “Cows are pretty cool.”
“Cows? Seriously?” Wilburs face contorted into an amused look.
“Hey cows are pretty intelligent alright? What about you? It’s probably something dumb like a squirrel.”
“Mmm no but I like rabbits. They taste pretty good.” Tommy turned to Wilbur and gasped.
“I meant that you like to look at or find interesting! Not to f***** eat!!!”
“What! I’m just being honest.” The man said at least looking a little guilty. “I’ve gotta eat something out here! Besides, it's not like you don’t eat cows!”
Tommy fake gasped. “I would never eat a sweet innocent cow. They’re so endedible and loveable!”
 “I bet you’ve eaten beef in the last week.” Wilbur said, giving Tommy a knowing look as he rested his head into his hand, propped up on his knee.
“No…. I definitely didn’t...” Tommy said looking away, face going slightly red as he fiddled with his hands.
 “At least I don’t think it was beef…” Wilbur just grinned.
 “Alright alright. How about an animal you dislike? Mine’s an Anteater.”
 “What’s wrong with Anteaters?” Tommy questioned.
“Oh Tommy. What’s not wrong with Anteaters?”

It continued on like this for several days. Tommy would finish his chores around the village, then journey into the forest clearing and call for the monster where he waited. And not long after calling for the monster, would Wilbur appear and help call for the monster too. When they weren’t doing that, most of their time was spent chatting. Well mostly Tommy, with his rambles as he practiced his sword fighting skills, whilst Wilbur watched the wild child wave his treasured wooden sword around. Sometimes he would relax and nap in the warm sun's rays as the child spoke whatever was on their mind. Occasionally, Wilbur would manage to get Tommy to come sit still with him and would hum a melody or sing and a made up song, whilst running a hand through his blonde curls. The man had a soothing voice and it was almost hypnotic in a way. Tommy wished he could listen to it forever.
 Days turned to weeks and soon Tommy was spending almost all his time in the Forest, and while he still called for the monster to fight, he found himself going for a different reason. Wilbur. Tommy had become attached to the man. The man had a gentle presence and treated him in a way that not many in the village did. He treated him with kindness, joy, caring and what could almost be affection, from how often the man insisted they hug before he left after coming to know him. But he couldn’t complain when secretly he loved it. Part of him almost wanted to stay with the man and never leave. But that could not be. He had a mission! Kill the monster and return a hero! That was his mission, his quest! But maybe when he did, Wilbur could come too?
 He’d asked the man once before about it, his answer being that the village didn’t really like people like him, so he chose to stay away. Tommy wondered if it was because maybe he’d messed up too many times and the villagers had kicked him out? When Tommy made mistakes, he’d get punished pretty badly. Some nights he’d go to sleep covered in bruises and dried blood. But that’s okay! He’d complete his quest and return as a hero and then never be punished again. But if that was the same reason why the village didn’t like Wilbur, he thought that returning a hero with him would perhaps fix all that? Yes! That would definitely fix everything. How could it possibly not?
 It was just another normal day for Tommy, as the young boy made his way to the usual clearing. He'd brought a pastry with him today that the nice baker lady had given him, for him helping her bring the flour bag order into the shop. He set his satchel down and cupped his hands around his mouth as he hollered his challenge to surrounding forest foliage.
“HEY MONSTER!!! IT’S TOMMYINNIT! I’M READY TO FIGHT YOU B****!”
 He was about to call again when a rustle of leaves from behind him had him turning on his heels.
 “Wilbur!” He called cheerily, not expecting the man to appear so soon.
 “You’re here ear-ly…” The words died in the boy's throat as his eyes widened to see not Wilbur stepping into the clearing.
 Stood before him huffing in a steaming cloud of rage, was a giant black boar with piercing red eyes. Tommy drew his sword, hands tight around the hilt, trembling slightly at the fierce animal before him. He could do this. He’d been waiting for a monster after all. This was just a uh- a warm up! Yeah a very big, scary looking warm up. But as the boar let out a menacing growl, and Tommy’s fear growing by the second, he took a step back. He-he couldn’t do this. Tommy’s hands loosened on the wooden sword, allowing it to drop to the grass floor below him. The boar taking this moment as its time to charge. Tommy sprinted for dear life. What was he thinking? That he could take on what was supposed to be a terrifying man eating monster alone and win? He’d bought a flippen damn wooden stick to a boss fight! And he wasn’t even trying to escape the supposed monster. It was just some ugly Boar!
 Tears began to stream down Tommy’s face. He didn’t know what to do. The Boar was quickly gaining on him and he had no idea where he was going. He didn’t have a decent weapon and he was getting tired quickly. So he did the only thing he could think of and screamed.
 “WILBUR! WILBUR HELP!!!” He shouted over and over again, in hopes the man was somewhere nearby and would be able to help.
 “SOMEONE?! ANYONE?! PLEASE!!!”
 Tommy kept running. He could feel the hot breath of the Boar growing on the back of his neck as the sound of hooves got closer and closer. He was managing to dodge his way out of the approaching jaws of the furious animal, but for how much longer?
 Tommy’s luck seemed to have run out, as he soon found himself cornered at the bottom of an overhanging cliffside. He scrambled about looking for a way up, someplace to hide, ANYTHING to help him escape his impending doom, but ultimately was left with nothing. The Boar slowed its approach, knowing its prey had finally been caught.
 “WILBUR PLEASE!! WHERE ARE YOU?!?” He shrieked in desperation; one last time.
 “Please.” he barely whispered as he backed himself up against the cliffside wall, breathing heavily as he braced his arms against the rocky stone walls. He heard the Boar grunting and scraping the ground, a sign it was about to charge and deliver the final blow. He scrunched his eyes firmly shut and braced for the end. He didn’t want to see it coming.
 Suddenly something hit the ground with a heavy thud, creating a small shockwave, causing Tommy to be knocked to the ground from the impact. A blood curdling shriek along with terrified squeals were sent into the air, instantly followed by the sound of several loud cracks and hissing. Tommy lifted his head up and wiped his face of dirt from the ground, slightly dazed from the harsh fall. Tommy’s eyes widened in terror. Before him was a giant brown and yellowish scaled tail. His head followed the scales up, anxiety growing of what was to come as he looked on to where the tail turned to the back of a human torso, of a man with curly brown hair atop of their head. Tommy’s heart stopped as realization struck him.
 A Naga.
 That was his monster.
 But before him is Wilbur.
 Wilbur was a Naga.
 His Monster is  Wilbur.
 The monster he’d been calling for and patiently waiting all this time to come, had been Wilbur the entire time.
 There was no doubt in his mind that now that the secret about Wilburs’ true form was out, would have them turn tail and devour Tommy alive. After all, that must be why he had come. They probably didn’t want their free meal to be snatched up by some other predator. The Naga had known the entire time why Tommy was in the forest. They knew Tommy wanted his head for the glory it would bring, but had indulged in his wild fantasies. They were probably letting him live till they got bored. That made the most logical sense. Besides, everyone always gets fed up with him eventually. It's how he ended up an orphaned street rat in the first place. People just put up with him till they’re sick of him, then make him get lost. It's why this hurt so much more. Because instead of being abandoned, Tommy knew he was going to be devoured.
 Slowly, Tommy struggled to his feet. He had to get out of here. He couldn’t die. He had to escape! He just had too! The Naga was still turned away from Tommy, the now dead Boar hanging limply in its grasp. Ever so quietly, Tommy crept along the side of the cliff wall, around the Naga. He couldn’t afford to be seen. He kept his head and shoulders down and tried to blend in with the wall, doing his best effort to be as unnoticeable as possible. He was almost in the clear when he glanced back at the Naga. He froze in place. Tommy watched as a giant fist raised the dead Boar up in the air, as the Naga opened its giant mouth. Sharp fangs glistened in the sun as he watched them drop the entire dead animal in the awaiting maw, only to snap it shut and swallow the entire thing whole. Tommy watched in horror, as the large bulge of the boar traveled down the Nagas throat. A thin pink tongue slithered out of its mouth and licked its lips in satisfaction. Oh Prime, he needed to leave NOW.
 But one wrong step was all it took for a twig to snap sharply beneath Tommy’s foot. The sound rang out loudly in his ears. He didn’t need to look down to realize his mistake. Oh so comically slowly, Tommy turned to face the monster. The Naga’s head had snapped to meet his own, its amber eyes nothing but thin slits. However, upon seeing Tommy, their gaze softened.
 “Thank Prime you’re okay.” the Naga said, releasing a heavy sigh.
“I was so worried when I heard you calling that I-” They began to say as they turned to move forward.
 Tommy bolted.
 “WAIT! TOMMY!” The Naga cried as he lunged for him with an outstretched clawed hand, the small boy just narrowly dodging the giant appendage before the Naga crashed into the cliffside missing.
Tommy booked it for the tree line. He needed to get back to the village. He wasn’t going to just wait to be caught and die!! Wilbur had said he lived in the forest and was the monster.
 This was their forest.
 Its  domain .
 He wouldn’t be able to hide anywhere and not be found. It wouldn’t matter if he’d had a 100 meter head start, the monster knew where to go, where to look. Prime! It probably even knew what he smelled like and could track him! Tommy’s only hope of survival was to get back within the Village walls. He took every tight, confusing, twisting path he could take, ducking through small gaps that blocked off openings for larger creatures, praying that somehow this would slow the Naga down. Tommy could hear them approach from the sound of leaves crinkling from beneath the weight of the serpent that was giving chase.
 “TOMMY, PLEASE! COME BACK! LET ME EXPLAIN!!!” Tommy heard the Naga plea, as he squeezed through the gaps of several fallen trees, stopping the naga effectively as they were too big to follow.
 “COME BACK!”
 They were so close. But he couldn’t stop. He had to get to the village. Had to get back home. He just had too!
As Tommy ran through another thicket of bushes, he stumbled into a clearing, tripping over something, falling to the ground harshly and scraping his knees against the rough surface. He cursed to himself as he looked over the now slightly bleeding scrape, eyes narrowing on whatever he tripped on.
 It was his wooden sword.
 He paused as he processed his surroundings; recognition sparking in his head. It was the same clearing he’d first met Wilbur in. It’s a bit ironic? The sword he wanted to use against the big, bad monster used against him. Tommy felt tears bud at the edge of his eyes. It just wasn’t fair. NONE of this was fair. This was the spot he had met his first real friend. The first time he’d had a real connection. The first time he hadn’t been kicked out for being himself. The first time he had felt like someone actually cared, and it was all a lie.
 “Tommy? Are you alright? That must have hurt.”
 Tommy whipped his head around to see the now human version of the Naga standing behind him. He turned to run again, but he was no match for the Naga’s speed as they shifted form and snaked around him, effectively trapping him within the giant coil walls. He ran to the edge of the coils and tried to climb out, but the end of the snake's tail trailed its way up the boys torso, wrapping itself around his frail form semi tightly and lifted the boy into the air. “Please Tommy. I just want to talk.” The naga said as Tommy began to thrash in attempts to  break free. Instinctually, the tail tightened around him, squeezing the air out of his lungs, causing him to cease his thrashing. Oh Prime! He was going to be squeezed to death! His lungs began to burn from lack of air as the pressure on his ribs slowly constricted tighter.
 It  hurt .
 It  hurt so much .
 He let out a strangled whine of pain.
 “F***!” the Naga spoke above him as the tail immediately loosened, releasing its death hold around the boy, as they greedily gasped for air.
 “Oh Prime. Oh S***. I'm so sorry!” The world lurched as Tommy was lifted and placed on a rough, warm surface. He blinked his eyes open, trying to focus on his surroundings between black splotches from the lack of air.
 Oh.
 He was in it’s hand wasn’t he?
 “S***! Tommy! I’m so sorry! I didn’t mean to squeeze you like that!!! Are you alright?” concern lacing the giant's voice.
 Now didn’t that just make Tommy’s heart ache. The jig was up! He knew what Wilbur was. This sick game or whatever it was was over. He had literally just tried to squeeze him to death. Why were they still pretending to care?
 “Tommy? Please talk to me!”
“Don’t eat me!” Tommy pleaded, tears freely dripping down his face.
“Eat you?” the Naga breathed, taken aback.
“I don’t want to die!” Tommy cried, as he curled in tighter on himself. He didn't want to see the hungry look of the predator.
The Nags’s eyes widened in disbelief as a gasp escaped him.
 “Tommy! I’m not going to eat you! How could you think such a thing?”
“Because you will! You almost squeezed me to death just then!” Tommy wailed as he began to tremble.
They glanced away. At least they had the decency to look guilty.
 “That was an accident. I didn’t mean to and I’m so sorry I did!” he paused. “But I saved you from the Boar. Why would I want to eat you if I did that?”
“Because you lied.” Tommy whispered, the Naga taken aback; hurt by the statement.
“Please… I just- I can’t- I don’t want to die Wilby.”
 Why did Wilbur have to keep delaying the inevitable? Why did it have to be the first person he’d come to love like that was to be his demise? Why had he been so foolish in believing he could succeed in defeating a monster like him? In a way he’s lucky he hadn’t been devoured sooner. He’d practically been dancing with death every day for weeks. It's not like anyone would even care if he disappeared. No one had cared when he’d disappeared for hours at a time as it was. No one liked him. No one truly cared for him. No one loved him.
 “Tommy, sunshine. Look at me.” The Naga asked softly. Tommy lifted his head slightly as he sniffled more wet tears into his knees.
“Tommy. I’m not going to eat you. You mean so much to me. I could never imagine hurting you on purpose.”
  What?
 “Sometimes, my instincts get the better of me. I didn’t mean to squeeze you like that, I swear.” The Naga spoke gently.
“I came to save you from the Boar because you needed help. Not because I was afraid he’d eat you before me or anything like that that you might be thinking, but because I was terrified I’d lose you.”
 Tommy’s whole body stiffened.
  He thought he was going to lose him?
 “Yes Tommy, you.” They chuckled almost as if he read the blonde's mind.
“When humans enter my forest, I usually just leave them alone because I know they're afraid of me. But that day you came into the forest, I couldn’t help myself. I’d been alone for so long, and you seemed so determined to battle a monster, I couldn’t help but be intrigued by you.”
 Tommy uncurled himself to get a better look at the Naga, them taking it as a cue to continue.
 “And when you found out it wasn’t around, I didn’t want to ruin that precious smile across your face. So I lied about the monster.“
  He had lied because he would have been upset about no monster?
 “I didn’t think you’d come back in all honesty. But when I heard you calling for me the next day and you kept coming back, I couldn’t stay away.” Wilbur lifted his hand up to his face so that Tommy was now at eye level.
“I care about you Tommy.
 Tommy lifted his head fully, eyes wide looking at the Naga.
 “Really?” voice wobbly, he asked.
 “Really.”
 Tommy’s breath hitched in his throat, eyes scanning the Naga’s face looking for any sign of they were lying.
 But all he saw was the man he had come to love. Despite everything, despite them being a Giant Naga, a Monster: It was still Wilbur. Still his friend.
 Tommy let his tears pour as Wilbur began to gently stroke his back up and down with his thumb in reassurance. He was okay. They were okay.

Tommy continued to visit Wilbur even after the incident. The two became closer despite the truth coming out, and they couldn't be happier. Wilbur could be honest about his true self, and Tommy had someone he could depend on. Tommy would still call for the Naga though. While he knew that he didn’t need to (since Wilbur revealed he knew when Tommy entered the forest everytime by his scent and how he walked from his crazy good hearing) he still did it as a sort of tradition. It felt wrong not too.
 Although, some of his calls were a little less than polite…
 “HEY B****! I’M HERE!!” The 12 year old hollered for the snake.
 “Where the heck did you even learn to curse like that?” Wilbur laughed as he slithered into their clearing.
 Wilbur didn’t shift to his human form a whole lot anymore either. There was no real need too now that Tommy knew. He would occasionally at Tommy’s request, but the boy rather liked the Naga at his giant size. He’d crawl all over the man’s coils and slid down his tail like a slide. Sometimes he’d laze about in Wilbur’s fluffy hair and ramble on while the Naga lazily dozed in the sun listening. Other time’s when Wilbur was being clingy from instincts, he’d hold Tommy in his hands close to his chest. Tommy would complain, scratch and bite for him to let go, before eventually submitting to hand cuddles in defeat. He’d never actually admit that he loved them though. It’s not like it made him feel completely safe surrounded in the comforting warmth of his hands or anything. Nope! Not big Man Tommy liking some silly hand hugs. Nuh uh. Not him!
 “So what are we doing today Sunshine?” Wilbur asked, as he lowered a hand for Tommy to step onto.
“Something awesome.” Tommy grinned mischievously as he stepped on and was lifted to sit on the Naga’s shoulder.
“Awesome or hey-OW! TOMMY!” Squawked Wilbur, as the boy launched himself off of his palm, grabbing onto one of the longer curls of his fringe, tugging it down as Tommy swung around wildly.
 “Let go, you Gremlin.”
 “NEVER!”
 “You are such a little menace.”
 “Little??? I’ll have you know I’m the biggest man alive!” The boy pouted, as giant fingers gently pulled him away from the man’s face, dangling him in the air briefly before placing him back on the ground. “Yes, I’m aware Tommy. You’ve said so many times.”
“So you’ll let me back up on your shoulder then?”
“Ha! No.”
 It was moments like these that really made Tommy want to stay with the giant snake and never return. But despite the bond he and Wilbur had formed, Tommy couldn’t stay with Wilbur forever. He understood why he couldn’t, but he wanted to stay. Wilbur had told Tommy how much he cared for him and he knew that he did, but despite this, Wilbur still made him go home. The forest wasn’t safe for him even with the Naga’s presence, which was made very clear by the boar attack, and Wilbur voiced that he should stay with people of his own kind, within the Village walls where it was safer. He was still so young and he needed the care human’s provided him. Tommy of course had yet to tell Wilbur that he slept in an alleyway alone and all, but that’s okay. He didn't need to worry him like that. What could the Naga do about it anyways?
 Although while he couldn’t stay, Tommy would be in the Forest every chance he could! The villagers, of course, now seemed to take notice of their dear little street rats’ disappearance. They didn’t like how their source of free labor was suddenly not around so much. Didn’t like how they suddenly didn’t have a personal punching bag for when they were upset. Concerned their little orphan wasn’t around to control anymore. So of course, they started to ‘inquire’ about it.
 “Where are you off to?” The Fletcher asked him one day, as Tommy was leaving after helping sharpen the flint for the arrow heads. “Just going to practice my sword skills.” He replied simply as he turned and walked off.
“Disappearing to the West End District again rat?” The Butcher provoked. Tommy tried not to pull a face as he walked passed.
 He hated that name. “What are you doing down there? Don’t you know what lurks beyond the walls?” “I like that it's quiet sir. Good place to practice my sword skills.” Tommy yelped in surprise, as he was suddenly grabbed by his shoulder. Pointed fingernails dug into his skin, as he was twisted around to meet the Butcher's face and a sharp cleaver poised dangerously close to his neck. “Make sure you stay within the walls, Rat.” Tommy’s eye’s darted from the Butchers knife to their piercing gaze. “When people go into that Forest, they don’t come out. Would hate for something to happen to you.” With a sharp blow to his back, Tommy stumbled forward out of the man’s grip and sprinted for the West End Gate, desperate to get away. He ran all the way to the gap in the wall and crawled through.
 He didn’t tell Wilbur why he had run to the clearing that day or what had happened to cause the now-forming bruise between his shoulder blades. Simply lying instead about how a heavy book had fallen off a shelf that morning when he helped the Librarian. Wilbur had given him a concerned look before Tommy changed the subject to talk about cows. Tommy hoped that the odd interaction from the Fletcher and Butcher was a one time thing.
 But it continued to happen.
 Everyday, a different member of the village would question him about where he was going and why. Some would get a little aggressive like how the Butcher had, but he managed to get away with just a mild bruise or graze. He tried to cover them up best he could before visiting Wilbur. The Naga was beginning to get increasingly worried about how many injuries Tommy was showing up with. “Tommy, are you sure you’re alright?” They had asked him one day, when he’d appeared with a poorly wrapped cut across his forearm (a cut he’d unfortunately been unable to avoid from the Cartographers drawing compass).
“Yeah I’m fine Big Dubs. Just got a little reckless with some of the other kids in the village playing swords.” Wilbur raised a brow. “Just, promise me to try and stay out of trouble Toms? I don’t want to keep seeing you show up covered in fresh injuries.” “I promise.” Tommy promised nervously. He hated that he had to lie about this to Wilbur, but it wasn’t worth worrying them over a little scratch.
~~~
 It only seemed to grow worse for Tommy as time went on. He’s not 100% sure, but he swore that he’d seen someone following him. Whenever he started to approach the West End District, it felt like holes were being burned into the back of his head. He had started to take back route alley ways to the gap in the wall after that, trying to avoid whatever had been tailing him. But you can only avoid certain things for so long.
 “Haven’t seen you around all that much lately, rat.” The Blacksmith stated, when Tommy was unloading a metal order for him one morning. “What are you up to?”
 “Nothing of importance sir.” Tommy replied as he kept his eyes trained down. He knew not to establish eye contact. He’d had too many slaps to the face recently to forget that. “Just keeping to myself till needed.”
 “Hmpf. I know you’re up to something rat.” The Blacksmith said, stepping closer to the boy. “We know you’re sneaking off through the West End Gate.”
 Tommy’s neck bristled, as a shiver ran down his spine. So he’d been right.
 Someone had been watching.
 “No sir. I would never do that.”
 “DON’T LIE TO ME RAT!” The Blacksmith yelled, grabbing Tommy by the collar and yanking him into the air.
 “WHY ARE YOU GOING INTO THE FOREST? WHAT ARE YOU HIDING?”
 Tommy grabbed uselessly at the back of his shirt in hopes of getting free, as the Blacksmith held him high dangled in the air.
 He couldn’t tell them about Wilbur! If they knew he’d been going in there to see him, they’d go after him! They would hurt him!
 “NOTHING SIR!” He cried desperately.
 “LIES! NO ONE THAT GOES IN THAT FOREST COMES OUT! HOW IS IT THAT YOU, A USELESS CHILD HAS!?”
 The Blacksmith flipped him around and threw him harshly to the ground and into one of the furnaces. Tommy jerked his arm back, hissing in pain as it came into contact with part of the hot metal, the skin on his arm immediately turning an angry red. The Blacksmith trudged forward, pressing a heavy boot onto his frail chest.
 “I’ll ask you again. Why are you going in the Forest?” They threatened, venom seeping into every word.
 “I’m not sir! I know not to go in! I never do!” Tommy wailed, as tears streamed down his face.
 “Fine. Be that way.” they hissed, stepping off his chest.
“We’ll get the truth out of you eventually.” They raised their leg back before kicking him harshly in the stomach winding Tommy, before swiftly walking away.
 Tommy didn’t visit Wilbur that day.
 Or the next.
 For 3 days he stayed huddled up, hiding in the shadows. He was in so much pain that he couldn’t even bring himself to move, let alone leave his little shelter in the alleyway .
 But even after he felt fit enough to move again, he didn’t return to the Forest. He was too ashamed of what Wilbur would say if he saw him covered head to toe in bruises and fresh wounds. He’d be so disappointed in him if he did. He was supposed to be looking after himself and staying out of trouble. Being good, and making Wilbur proud. Instead, he’d had to spend the  afternoon trying to find a shirt with long sleeves that he could use to cover his arms, and hide the would be scars from the Naga, only managing to find a slightly too small red sleeved shirt that was in semi okay condition.
 He was such a disappointment.
 ~~~
 The next morning, Tommy helped the farmer. He didn’t want to go back to the Blacksmith. His arm was wrapped loosely in a makeshift bandage beneath his new shirt and it hurt like hell. He was still finding it slightly difficult to breathe, but the villagers had work for him to do and they wouldn’t take kindly to his ‘excuses’. Especially after vanishing for a few days…
 The Farmer wanted him to harvest some of the carrots today. Normally, he’d be allowed to take a few of them when he’d finished the job, but today the Farmer had come as he was finishing up and was holding the small pile of carrots Tommy had set aside for himself in their grasp.
 “I hear the Blacksmith had a chat with you the other day.”
 Tommy stiffened.
 “Yes-yes sir.” He stuttered.
“We don't take too kindly to liars boy.” The farmer threatened. “So make this simple for both of us and tell the truth.” “But I’m n-not going in, sir. There’s n-nothing in the Forest!” He stuttered, taking another step back.
 “WE KNOW THAT’S NOT TRUE! WE’VE SEEN YOU SNEAKING THROUGH THE GAP IN THE WALL!” The farmer accused stepping forward, raising their pitch fork up. “YOU EVEN DISAPPEARED AFTER SEVERAL DAYS AND TURN UP ACTING AS IF NOTHING HAPPENED!! TELL THE TRUTH! HOW ARE YOU STILL ALIVE?”
 “But-but I-I didn’t go in!!!” Tommy stammered, his voice wavering as he spoke. “I was in my alley trying to rest from my injuries!”
 “B*******! You expect me to believe that?” They spat. “Even if you were, that doesn’t explain why you’ve been going in!!!”
“There’s no rules that say I can’t go in! I’m just going there to practice my sword skills with a friend.”
 “A friend?” The farmer asked incredulously. “Who on earth would be spending their time with a ratty orphan street kid like you? Stop making things up and tell the truth.”
 “BUT IT IS THE TRUTH! ” Tommy pleaded in desperation. “WE JUST HANG OUT AND TALK!”
 “B***S***! JUST TELL THE TRUTH!”
 Tommy pushed himself up off the ground and away from the Farmer as they made a move to grab him, and high tailed it for the West End Gate. He couldn’t take this anymore. He had to get out of the Village NOW. He had to leave. Had to get out!
 Even if Wilbur wouldn’t take him in, he had to get out of there. It wasn’t safe.
 He ran through the streets, the sounds of angry villagers emerging from their homes to come after him and bring him back, trailed after him, growing in volume. He knew what they wanted him for. They didn’t love him. They didn’t actually care. They just wanted to have control over him. He hadn’t realized it at first, but after meeting Wilbur, he’d begun to recognise the choke hold they held over him. Making him work for approval. Making him work to prove his worth when it would never be enough. Using fake praise followed by belittling comments to control his feeble mind. He had thought that if he came back a hero, they would finally actually want him, accept him for him; not just claim that they ‘cared’.
 Wilbur had shown him what being cared for truly looked like. And he’d take that over the s*** the village dished out any day.
 He ran and ran till he reached the gap in the wall but skidded to a halt when he realized what the villagers had done.
 They’d sealed the gap.
 He pounded on the freshly dried layer of concrete sealing the gap over, desperate to break through before eventually giving up. He turned and sprinted for the West End Gate exit and tried to break the chains once more on the operating point.
 But it was futile. The Chains remained locked tight, and despite the little bit of muscle he’d built up by practicing with Wilbur, he still lacked the physical strength to even leave a dent in the chains.
 The sounds of angry villagers continued to grow louder as they approached and soon Tommy was surrounded on all sides.
 “Awwww. The little rat wants to go into the Forest.” One woman snickered.
 “Don’t you know you belong to us!” Another spat.
 Tommy turned and ran to the iron gates and began to climb his way up. If he could make it over, he’d risk the broken bones the fall down would cause. “Where do you think you’re going?” The Weaponsmith snapped, grabbing Tommy’s ankle, yanking him back down to the ground.
 He tried to climb up again reaching for the iron gates but was torn away with a yelp.
“Uh uh uh. You ain’t going nowhere. Not until you tell us why you’ve been going into the Forest.”
“LET ME GO A******!” Tommy shrieked as he struggled to get out of the Weaponsmith’s hold.
“Oh we’ll let you go alright. Right after you tell us the Truth. No one goes into that Forest and comes out alive. We’ll find out what you’re hiding: even if we have to break you.”
“SOMEONE PLEASE! HELP!!! ANYONE!!!” Tommy thrashed about, desperate to break free. He felt helpless. No one in this damned village would help him no matter how much he pleaded. He didn’t understand why the villagers were treating him this way. They had never cared about him before, but now that he had entered and emerged from the Forest unscathed they cared? What the F*** was wrong with them???
 “LET ME GO!!” He screeched in vain, as he was dragged along.
  Why won’t anyone help me? He didn’t deserve this. He just wanted- he just wanted…
 “WILBUR!” Tommy screamed out of desperation. “WILBUR PLEASE!!! HELP ME!!!”
 He knew the Naga wouldn’t be able to hear him, but he wanted his brother. Even if Wilbur didn’t feel the same, he wanted to be swept up in the giant’s gentle hands. He wanted to be held close to their comforting chest. He wanted to hear Wil’s rhythmic heartbeat and soothing voice. He wanted to feel Wilbur’s fingers card through his hair, as he whispered sweet nothings.
 He wanted to be with Wilbur.
 He wanted to be loved.
 “WILBUR! PLEASE!!!”
 “Your imaginary friend is going to come save you rat.” The Weaponsmith mocked.
 “You belong to us and we will do to you what we see fitting-” The words died in their throat as a thud was heard from behind. A flurry of hushes were sent amongst the crowd, as all turned to face the West End Gate. They watched in anticipation as another loud thud hit the gate’s door causing it to creak, as dust floated down from the upper walls like snow.
 Something was trying to break in.
 “Oh Prime.” the Weaponsmith whispered, as the sound of hissing began to fill the air.
 “Go-go, GO! GO NOW!”
 The villagers began to disperse into panic, as the thudding increased and the Gate began to cave in on itself, whatever beyond the entrance desperately trying to break in.
 “YOU!”
 Tommy tried to fight against the Weaponsmiths hold as they pulled him to their face.
 “WHAT DID YOU DO?”
 But before he could answer, the Gates flew open, debris flying everywhere. Tommy tried to shield himself best he could, as bits of concrete were flung in his direction. The crowd went deathly silent.
 Standing tall menacingly within the rubble, was Wilbur; hissing threateningly.
 “Where is he?” The Naga demanded.
 “Wilbur. WILBUR!”
 “Shut up.” Weaponsmith hissed as they shoved Tommy away from the direction of Wilbur.
 “WIL! I’M HERE! I’M MPHF” Tommy tried to call, but a piece of fabric was stuffed into his mouth, muffling his cries.
 But the Naga heard it all the same.
 “TOMMY! I’M HERE!” Wilbur yelled, as worried amber eyes searched the crowd.
 The Naga’s eyes locked onto Tommy’s form, a warning hiss filling the air.
 “Give him to me now, and I’ll spare you.”
 “Never.” The Farmer spat.
 “Have it your way.”
 Wilbur slithered forward, not caring for who or what was in their way. The villagers scattered beneath him, screaming in fear to avoid the giant snake's tail, some not being so lucky. Wilbur’s eye’s turned to slits, as they let instinct drive them forward. The Naga bared their fangs and hissed in warning as they approached closer. The Weaponsmith trembled as Wilbur raised his torso up, poising themself to strike. Fear had the Weaponsmith turn tail and run, as they hurled Tommy forward trying to put as much distance between him and the boy. Tommy stumbled forward, Wilbur shooting his hand out beneath him to catch him. The Naga’s eyes dilated as they brought Tommy up to their face, eyes searching every inch of the boy. Their frown deepened at the sight of every new bloodied spot, as Wilbur removed the makeshift gag.
 “What did they do to you?” Wilbur whispered, voice tight as he gently ran a finger over Tommy’s forehead, brushing the hair out his eyes.
“Wil. I, I-I’m so sorry.” Tommy whimpered.
 “Shh shhh. It’s alright Sunshine. I’ve got you.”
 Tommy felt himself being moved as Wilbur began to slither away. He kept the boy close as they moved through the Village and back to the Forest, Tommy clutching onto Wilbur’s giant fingers tightly the whole way.
 “I was so worried about you Toms. When you stopped coming, I thought something horrible had happened to you.” Wilbur said, as he stopped to rest in their familiar clearing.
 “I’m sorry.” Tommy whimpered softly. “I tried to stay out of trouble like you wanted! Really! I did! But the villagers were so convinced that I was doing something wrong in the Forest because I came back! I didn’t do anything wrong Wil! I swear I didn’t!”
 “Oh Tommy sweetheart I know. I never should have sent you back. I thought that it would be better if you remained with your own kind. I thought humans looked after their young. But they hurt you. They hurt my Little Brother.”
 Tommy’s whole body stiffened.
   Little Brother?
 “Yes, Little Brother Tommy.” They chuckled, as if he read the blonde's mind.
 “Every time you went to leave, I didn’t want to let you go. I just wanted you to stay with me. It was so hard to not just reach out and pull you back into my arms.”
 “I thought you didn’t want me.” Tommy sniffled as he looked up at the Naga in disbelief.
 “Oh Tommy! How could I not want you?” I love everything about you! Your smile, your laugh, your personality, EVERYTHING. I want you to come home with me. I want to hold you close,  protect you and never let go. I want you to be my little brother.”
 Tommy could feel tears budding at the edge of his eyes.
 “I love you Tommy.”
 And Tommy? He broke. Sobs ripped from his throat as he threw himself at the Giant Nagas nose as Wilbur brought his hand up to hug him back in an awkward way.
 He  Loved  him.
 Wilbur actually loved him. Finally, someone really loved him!
 “I-I love you too Wilby!” Tommy wept, clinging to the giant's nose. “I love you so so much Wilbur. You’re my big brother! No one has ever cared about me like you do!”
 They stayed like that for a while before Wilbur pulled Tommy back from his face, tears threatening to fall from the giant's eyes as a fond smile grew wider across the Naga's face.
 “Let’s go home.”

Within the forest by the West end Gate,    Journeyed a boy, led in by fate.
A monster they went a looking for.  A monster he found, but was not so sure.
Some say the monster took them to eat,  Other’s say the boy still searches to beat.
A once monster, fabled in fear,  But not to this boy, who holds them most dear.
For while glory they went, a looking for,  Instead they found something worth much more.
Within his forest home, the boy now sleeps,  With their monster brother, safe he keeps.  There they stay loved, never a part.  The boy who claimed the monster's heart. ❤️❤️❤️

Sir Knight Tommy And His Adoptive Dragon Dad AU
I have an idea and it’s bedrock bros so I thought I should share it.
Young knight Tommy is sent out to collect intel on a abandoned dragon horde nearby. He’s quick on his feet and good with sneaking around, so he agrees. When he gets to the cave and walks inside it looks well abandoned. It’s dirty with trinkets and coins scattered around. Not neat and tidy like most dragons kept there horde. Tommy goes to pocket some of the gold because he’s smarter to assume he’ll get any from the rest of the knights. Only to stop in his tracks when he catches onto someone looking at him from the shadows.
He draws his sword, ready to fight whoever was there. Only to hesitate when he sees a boy his age. He means, the guy has deep purple eyes, scales along his face, wings and a tail but there was no mistaking the other was sentient. This wasn’t a dragon horde, it was a nest. Dragon nests are always messy, because the hatchlings require a lot of looking after and tend to get into trouble. The boy was a dragon hatchling, a shifter one too. Tommy lowers his sword, taking a step back. He should kill him, the other would grow up into a beast one day. But he looked so… like him.
Tommy goes to leave, an excuse already forming in his mind. Only to freeze when he turns around to see the biggest dragon he’s ever seen. The scale colour - pink - tells him of its power. There were at the top of the food chain, neck and neck with black and white scaled dragons. (He ignores the fact the hatchling behind him had colours of both) It looked pissed and it doesn’t take long for him to realize that the dragon in front of him was the father of the one before. He tries to make a run for it but is stopped by the dragon slamming him into the walls, his mouth opening to—
The dragon stops when the hatchling starts to whine. They both look over in time to see the younger dragon shift and put itself between Tommy and the older dragon. It looks back at him, head having to tilt downwards because of its hight. But the message is clear as day. “I won’t let you get hurt.” He doesn’t know why it’s protecting him, but he shakily nods anyways. The father to the hatchling looks confused, then disinterested after deeming him no threat. (Well, after it eats his fucking sword)
Tommy runs out of the cave. Then a week pasts and he’s back, tiptoeing around. Because he may be a knight he’s also very interested in dragons. He has full journals about them. There beautiful creatures, deadly, but beautiful. He’s found straight away when he trips right into the cave. He looks up to see the hatchling’s hair being brushed by another man. It doesn’t take a genius to see who the other was. The pink hair and dragon shifter features tell it all. He’s not killed on sight, so that’s a good thing. He stays at the entrance of the cave, content it’s just…watch.
But then the hatchling runs over and pulls him into the cave, setting him down in between his fathers legs. Tommy’s yelling. He’s about to get eaten, isn’t he? Only pain never comes, instead it’s a brush going through his hair. He tries to look up but it stopped by a loud growl. He decides to sit still. It becomes routine. Every couple of days Tommy visits the two dragons, gets harassed into eating, bathing or hanging out with his Ranboo. It’s three months later that Techno (he had translated their names from the dragon’s language by the end of his first month) gives him a golden necklace.
Dragons don’t give gold to outsiders. It’s against there very nature. Tommy goes to give it back, because it has to be a mistake. But he’s stopped by Techno giving an identical one to Ranboo. It had a pendant on it. One that looked like a family symbol. He remembers a passage in one of the old books about dragons. That after there babies make it out of their first stage of development they’ll be given jewelry with symbols on them. To show other dragons that they are protected. Tommy looks around the cave then, also remembering that dragons have multiple children at a time. But for some reason Techno only had Ranboo…
He looks down at his necklace, then over at Ranboo’s. He may be stupid for not realizing it sooner, but he knows now that no matter what, Techno and Ranboo are his family.

@mcyt-gt-events @navigating-through-gray
Happy secret Santa!
Here was the prompt I chose:
Ranboo has two lives, one he lives in summer, and the other in winter. He seeks out the goddess of death to remove his other side, but... her idea of a solution is to give him a tiny hybrid?
(Also sorry it's so close to the deadline, school and finals were kind of kicking my ass.)
...
Cut You a Piece
tw mentioned temporary character death, terminal illness, calling someone it in a dehumanizing way (not maliciously or for long, dw) fear of death, fear play (accidental and intentional), threats of vore (very off hand and only mentioned once) and fear of death.
Tell me if I should tag anything else!
Title from "Cut You a Piece" from 35mm! (Even though it was based on Hadestown lmao)
...
Ranboo knew he was Ranboo. That- that part he knew. He knew it was cold. And he knew it was- that it COULD BE warm, but he never got to experience that part.
Not anymore.
Ranboo knew he was cursed, he knew that as well. He remembered it well, the veil over the witch's face and his green robes. The way his magic particles looked like feathers. His scary body guard forcing him off the premises before Ranboo could realize what happened.
He was cursed seven years ago, when he was ten for trying to sneak a cure for his friend's illness. The witch laughed and laughed when he caught him, and cursed him so he'd never see his friend again.
This all fell out in December. And Tubbo died in January.
It was a long two months for Ranboo. Sitting in his house, studying magic and necromancy and curses and healing spells. Tubbo was cursed to die, for the illness wouldn't have killed him if Ranboo hadn't met that witch.
This death was a curse, and if Ranboo was any magic user at all, he could lift it.
No, Tubbo was in pain, suffering, but he wouldn't have died. He would have turned into a beast, a horned monster that would ravage and burn towns if Ranboo didn't heal it.
And well, being the only person with healing magic in the village, even at ten years old, it was all on him.
But at the end of it, Tubbo was no longer a patient. But Ranboo's only friend.
Ranboo remembers the first time it happened.
He went to sleep in one March day, tomorrow the Spring Solstice. And he woke up in September.
He ran into town, asking frantically what had happened. He ran into Niki's bakery, feeling like just yesterday she was putting away her winter stock. And now she was taking it out again.
"Ranboo!" Niki smiled. "Thank you for helping me with those boxes yesterday, flour can be SO heavy."
Ranbo blinked at her. He... doesn't remember doing that. "I'm sorry Niki I... don't think I did help you. Maybe it was someone else?"
Niki laughed. "Of course it was you! What other ten year old do I know that's nearly six feet tall-"
She cut herself off as she turned around, blanching. "Oh shit! You look half starved to death! Sit down sit down!"
"Niki," Ranboo's gears were turning. "How could I have helped with the boxes?! I can barely lift five potions at once!"
"I don't know," Niki shrugged, putting down in front of him a warm loaf of bread and some juice. "You've been helping me all throughout Summer. I guess it is weird... how could you help me? And you looked fine yesterday! Why are you so... scrawny now?"
"That witch..." Ranboo put together the pieces. "Niki, do you remember what I was wearing yesterday?"
Niki thought for a moment. "That checkered brown jacket you always- wait... you don't have a checkered brown jacket... Tubbo did but he's-"
"Gone." Ranboo gulped. He stuffed the rest of the bread in his mouth and hopped up towards the door. "Thank you Niki!"
And it had been going like that ever since. And when Ranboo was awake, everyone thought Tubbo was dead, and that whatever Tubbo had done was Ranboo. The other way around must be true as well.
The witch had done his job. He would never see Tubbo again. Not in this half and half state.
So Ranboo was traveling to the underworld. He started his journey when he woke up for the winter at seventeen. And now in a week's time (he silently thanked Tubbo for understanding his goal, keeping him on track), Ranboo would fall asleep for the spring.
The grass was grey, thats the first thing he noticed as he stepped through the portal filled with stars. That and the sky was black. No... the sky was dark. It was purple then grey then blue and it all just looked like sand being swirled up by the tide.
Ranboo continued his trek, stuffing his hands in his pockets. The air was so cold it hurt to breath, and the dusty and... just overal somber smell of the Underworld didn't help much.
He was in a forest. Maybe? They weren't quite trees, inky black against the dark sky, sprawled out awkwardly, bent into shapes they shouldn't grow in. They were packed tightly together.
"And who are you then?"
Ranboo sucked in a breath, whipping around, narrowly avoiding tripping and falling on the roots. "Who's there?!"
"You don't look like you're from around here... you're..." the voice was small and quiet, so much so Ranboo thought he was imagining it. It wasn't like the voice was whispering either, it sounded like it wanted to be heard. "A human! What the fuck are you doing in the Underworld? And what the fuck are you doing on the way to the castle..."
"Show yourself!" Ranboo yelped as there was a noise behind him, twirling around and reaching for his- did he not bring any weapons?! "I- I have magic! Don't mess with me!"
"Tch. HEALING magic, hardly a threat to ME. Behind you."
Ranboo probably twisted his back 180 degrees as he fell to the floor, looking up at the creature in from of him.
It was... very small, maybe pinky finger sized? Ranboo had read about soul fire before, and the thing was enveloped in it. Or no... it had wings made of soul fire, and the rest was a glowing blue.
"Who- what are you?" Ranboo managed to squeak out.
The thing- the fairy? He sighed, crossing his arms, fluttering in the air. He spoke about as fast as his wings were beating, so very rapid and basically impossible to keep up with. "Apparently I'm not s'posed to give my name out, but Tommy isn't my name so you can call me that. And I'm CLEARLY an Underworld sprite. I'm supposed to guide souls to where their proper place in the afterlife is but you're not a soul! Not yet, anyway. Oh yeah, and quick question-"
The sprite zipped right up into Ranboo's face, making him yelp and back up. "Why are there TWO SOULS on you?! And why are you down here in the first place? Unless you're trying to get rid of one of the souls-"
"Yes!" Ranboo cut in. "I need the goddess of death to break this curse, and if you guide sould could you guide me to her castle?"
"Hmm... maybe for a favor!" Tommy had a mischievous glint in his eyes. "You're a healer, I want you to heal someone for me."
Ranboo wrung out his hands nervously. "I don't know how well healing magic works on the dead-"
"It doesn't! Harms them, in fact-" Tommy stated matter of factly. "No no no, my friend. I need you to heal the human of these woods. He's got a curse and he can't see his wife until it's lifted and he's being all sad and depressed about it-"
"I... don't really have the best track record with curses..." Ranboo admitted. He could somehow feel himself starting to sweat through the cold. "Maybe you could- WOAH!"
Ranboo jumped back in fright as Tommy shifted size right next to him, human sized. He was still a good half a foot shorter than him, but Ranboo was still no match for the sprite's strength.
And even at human sized, Tommy was lightning fast. He zipped through the forest faster than he could blink, taking him to an old cabin. It looked about as dead as anything else in the underworld, the wood grey from time, splintered. Cracked windows, overgrown discolored grass, Ranboo would never want to go there in a million years.
But unfortunately, Tommy was still grasping his forearm, and darted inside.
"PHIIIIIIIL!!!" Tommy called out. A man was sitting on an arm chair, facing away from them both. "I got a human to heal you up!"
The man chuckled, Ranboo sucked in a breath. He knew who this guy was. "Tommy, I told you that only-"
The witch- Phil- turned around, frozen mid sentence when he saw Ranboo. "That only the kid I cursed can heal me."
Ranboo squeaked, stumbling backwards and falling over. He scrambled to his feet, making a run towards the door.
"Shit!" Phil said under his breath as he drew a symbol in the air. The door in front of Ranboo slammed shut, and felt like solid cement as he desperately tried to open it again.
He can't get cursed. Not again. Not when he was so close to curing the first-
Phil stared at him with frustration, closed off and proper posture. He was going to finish the job, he was going to kill him. And he would laugh while doing it. He laughed the first time he hurt Ranboo.
"Kid- kid." Phil put his hands up when he saw Ranboo pressed as hard as he could against the door, as far as he could be from the witch. "I'm- hrmmmm... I'm SORRY for cursing you all those years ago."
Ranboo blinked back, surprised. He stayed in his position though, ready to run. "What?"
Phil sighed. "I thought nothing of it but my wife... not a huge fan of the joke. I can only visit her in my other form, but she cursed me for cursing you and now I'm stuck like this. And the only way to BREAK the curse-"
"Is if I do it..." Ranboo finished his sentence, remembering Tommy's words from earlier. He squinted at the witch and the sprite. "Any why should I help the guy who took my only friend from me?"
"You're here for him, right?" Phil crossed his arms. "And the spring Solstice is in just two days I believe-"
Ranboo's eyes widened. He hadn't been in the underworld for THAT long, had he?! He still had a week left when he was on the surface...
"Which only gives you two days to find the goddess of death and get a deal with her," Phil shrugged. "Once my curse is lifted, I can get you to her much faster. And if you do decide to wait out the two days and your friend makes his appearence... his soul will have a very strange time getting used to being thrown into the underworld with no adjustment period like you got."
Ranboo froze. What the heck was that supposed to mean? Tubbo wouldn't... get hurt, right?
No, Ranboo wouldn't let either of them get hurt, not if he could do something about it.
Phil clicked his tongue. "Tick tock-"
"I'll do it." Ranboo glared.
Phil smiled, tilting his head. "Perfect."
...
You know, Ranboo should have expected this when Phil asked to be cured outside.
"Let go of me!" Ranboo struggled in the witch's now giant grasp, watching the trees grow smaller as they were lifted in the air.
What happened to Tubbo if Ranboo died?
Now they were squirming even harder. They didn't want to be the one to get the two of them killed. Why did they tempt the witch again? The very witch that cursed them in the first place?!
"Relax, mate," Phil gave a giant sigh. Ranboo could feel the vibrations extend all the way to his hands where they were being held. "Ranboo-"
Ranboo screamed as they were pulled closer to Phil's face. They kicked and punched their fists against his hand, eventually resorting to clawing at him with their nails.
"Stop- hey!" Phil snarled, shaking Ranboo violently. Their brain pounded in their skull when he finally stopped. Ranboo felt like they would throw up if they had eaten anything in the past few days. "Stop it, or I'll make you go the journey in my mouth."
Ranboo yelped, slapping a hand over their mouth. He wouldn't he WOULDNT-
... would he?! Phil had already cursed them basically at the drop of a hat, who's to say he won't-
"Phil!" Tommy shouted up, zipping onto the witch's shoulder. "Stop shaking them! Treat them like me! No threatening, no surprise picking up-"
"I would if they weren't trying to ESCAPE-" Phil glared back down at Ranboo. They sucked in a breath as his grasp tightened. "You want to see your friend, don't you?!"
Ranboo nodded frantically.
"Well, Tommy's not strong enough to carry you-"
"HEY!"
"And you won't be able to keep up on foot." Phil tilted his hand and opened it, allowing Ranboo to stand up. "So let me hold you, or let your friend wake up confused and scared for his life on why he's in the underworld in the hands of a giant. You want me to carry you or not?"
Ranboo froze in indecision before slowly nodding their head.
Phil brought his other hand up, using both hands to cup Ranboo and make sure they didn't fall as they crossed the underworld.
And... it was beautiful.
Ranboo didn't really get to appreciate it from down below, but the view stunned them nearly as much as their fear of Phil did. The trees were caked in white... snow? And the sky was shone when Ranboo tilted their head, like an opal. The clouds swirled and shifted, dancing even though there was no wind.
And in the distance... a giant castle. It was dark, darker than the neutral grey of the rest of the underworld. But with that it also had the only colors in the land, purple fires dotted the sides, torches about two or three times Ranboo's size.
Ranboo looked up to see what Phil was thinking and... the giant witch was smiling fondly as they approached the gates. Why would he be... no.
Was Phil's wife... sure. Yep. Phil's wife was the goddess of death. Why not.
"Kristen!" Phil shouted, both Ranboo and Tommy flinching and covering their ears. Tommy shoved at his jaw in annoyance. "I'm home!"
"Phil!"
The shadows casted by the large walls and the purple flames conjured together, before disputing and leaving yet another giant in their wake. She wore a large hat with a veil, covering her face and the upper half of her torso. Other than that, she wore a long black dress with long dark brown hair.
"I've missed you!" She laughed, walking forward to embrace her husband before noticing Ranboo. "And who is this? Wait! No way... you actually found them-"
"Well," Phil shrugged. "More they found me. And while they've cured me of my curse..."
Kristen crossed her arms. "They still need the cure YOU gave them lifted. Huh. Funny how those things come back to bite you, isn't it, Phil?"
Phil rolled his eyes. "Yes yes, I get it. No cursing random kids."
"So... can you do it?" Ranboo spoke up.
"Of course I can," Kristen said with an audible smile. Ranboo couldn't really tell if she was being sweet or bragging. She looked at one of Phil's shoulders. "Tommy, would you mind fetching me water from the moat of the castle? And Phil, I'll need-"
"Ow!" Phil yelped as Kristen plucked a hair from his head.
"Yes ma'am!" Tommy fluttered in the air for a second, saluting, before flying out of the gate. Phil followed Kristen into a side room, where there resided a giant cauldron.
Kristen got to work as Phil stood by her side. Tommy fluttered up to be by Ranboo as well, who had been placed on a shelf and was nervously wringing their hands.
They were going to see Tubbo again.
Kristen walked over with a ladle of inky black liquid, dotted with little white specks like stars.
"Ranboo," Kristen said slowly, not quite hitting the gentle mark. "You're going to drink this, and then you'll pass out. When you wake up, you'll be in the land of the living, with Tubbo. It will most definetly be painful, as we're essentially ripping apart your souls at the seams."
Ranboo looked at themselves in the reflection of the potion. "Will... is it going to be painful for Tubbo?"
Kristen shrugged, shaking her head. "You're the one with the body, I doubt he'll even realize what's happening until he's back."
Ranboo nodded gravely, cupping as much potion as they could in their hands. The world turned sideways. There was shouting? And then it all faded to black.
...
Ranboo wasn't expecting to wake up to be honest. If what Phil said was true, then the Spring Solstice was today, when they would fall asleep and Tubbo would wake up in their place.
But Ranboo woke up.
And Kristen was right. They did hurt like hell, all their nerves were on fire and their heart felt tight, but they were awake for sure.
They sat up in bed, not sure what to do now. In... their own bed, back home too. Ranboo hasn't been home since he was thirteen.
What if it didn't work? What if they were seperated but it didn't bring Tubbo back? Or if Tubbo was in the last place HE woke up? What if-
"Ranboo?"
Ranboo yelped. It was a few years older, but they definetly recognized that voice.
They looked over at their nightstand, where a tiny figure was sitting on the desk, like he had just woken up too. Brown messy hair, jet black horns and wings, it was unmistakably Tubbo.
"Ranboo!" Tubbo yelped, falling backwards before scampering to his feet. "What's happening?! What's-"
"You have wings!" Ranboo gasped. "And- it worked! Wait, Kristen actually- ha HA!"
Ranboo leaned down over their night stand and hugged Tubbo close to their face. Tubbo screamed.
"Sorry!" Ranboo flinched back. Tubbo stood firmly on the nightstand, like he was ready for a fight. "I'm just... so happy to see you. And... wait, do the wings mean you're still cursed."
Tubbo flexed his wings in and out, flapping them a few times. "They don't feel cursed? Like I was bedridden and in pain before... everything happened obviously. And while we were... seperated I had no features at all, like the curse had gone away overnight. But now they're just sort of there? Even though this is the first time I've had them they just feel... natural."
"That's good," Ranboo thought for a moment. "We should probably-"
There were footsteps downstairs.
Tubbo clearly heard, snapping his neck over. "You didn't get a new roommate while we were apart, right?"
Ranboo shook their head, not able to say anything else before the door opened.
They blinked away the blue light invading their eyes, making their headache ever prominent. "Tommy?!"
"You're finally awake!" Tommy laughed. He was at human size, carrying two glasses of water. "Took you long enough! You both slept WELL through the solstice, it was SO boring!"
"Tommy, why are you here?!" Ranboo took the glass, slowly sipping on it. "WHY are you here?!"
"Well, Kristen sent me to look after you while you adjusted," Tommy shruggedlike he wasn't talking about the literal goddess of death. "And since you two have been passed out the entire time, I've sort of just been making sure you guys were alive, messing with the locals a bit- wait a minute!"
Tommy shrunk down to Tubbo's size and flew right up to him, hsnd outstretched. "I'm Tommy! And I already know you're Tubbo, don't worry."
"Ranboo," Tubbo backed up. "Who is this guy."
"Tommy is... an underworld sprite," Ranboo scratched the back of their head, not really knowing how to say that lightly. "He's here to help. I think? Did Kristen of Phil send you?"
"Kristen," Tommy landed on the nightstand. "She couldn't completely undo the curse, clearly, so she sent me to make sure neither of you do anything stupid. Can you fly?"
Tubbo blinked back before flapping his wings rapidly as hard as he could. Nothing. "I don't think so."
"Hm." Tommy lifted in the air again. "We'll have to get that taken care of. Meet me downstairs when you're ready, we've got LOTS to talk about!"
Tommy launched off the desk and returned to human sized, walking back downstairs.
"I'm..." Tubbo turned back to Ranboo. "You know what? Nope! Not even gonna ask."
Ranboo snickered. "I'm glad you're back."
Tubbo snorted. "I'm glad YOURE back! Haven't seen you in forever."
Ranboo extended their hand, Tubbo stepping onto it. "Come on, let's go figure this out."
...
And they did.
It was a lovely spring, the first spring Ranboo had had in years. He took his sweet time walking around outside, helping out around the town between healing and being with Tubbo.
And Tubbo was adjusting as well as someone could in this sort of situation. With Tommy there to help, giving pointers on how to navigate through giant sized terrains, as well as him teaching Ranboo how to properly handle the tiny, it was going well.
"Is it bad I'm still nervous for the solstice?" Ranboo asked. Him and Tubbo had been looking out the window, with Tubbo snuggled in the little pocket in his shirt, watching the first dnow of the year. Which was surprising, as the solstice was tomorrow.
"Meh." Tubbo shrugged. "I'm... definetly nervous. But you know, old habits die hard, right?"
Ranboo hummed, the two looked out the window the rest of the night. Until they went up to bed.
"Goodnight," Ranboo yawned pulling over his covers.
"Night!" Tubbo stretched before curling up. They had discovered that as a dragon, Tubbo liked sleeping on piles. Not just gold pulls, but everything. Like fabric.
He let his eyes fall closed, and drifted to sleep. The rest was short, as it was cut off early in the morning by a loud crashing sound.
"Ranboo?!" Tubbo said from the floor, rubbing his head. Why was Tubbo so big?! "Where are you?! I can't see-"
"I'm under the blankets!" Ranboo shouted. Tubbo lifted up the covers and-
Tubbo was a giant. Ranboo scrambled back, realizing how small he was. He felt like he was with Phil and Kristen again.
"Here, let me put you on the desk," Tubbo grabbed Ranboo a bit tightly and plopped him in the nightstand. Ranboo collapsed.
"Don't do that please..." Ranboo was shaking like a leaf.
"Oh crap sorry-" Tubbo cringed back. "I know that that isn't the greatest feeling."
"And we had just gotten used to living with you as a tiny..." Ranboo whined, sighing.
It was going to be another long six months.

So I did a spin the wheel and your name got picked first, and I have a prompt.
Also, TW: Mentions of being held at gunpoint.
It be a RaccoonInnit and Size Shifter Dadza prompt. Thing is, is that Tommy doesn't know that Phil is a size shifter who wants to adopt him.
Storyline starts with Tommy being held gunpoint with Phil trying to get the person to let go of Tommy.
Things really ain't going well since the person takes off the safe lock from the gun.
Phil's instincts start acting up, really ain't having a fun night and seeing Tommy being held at gunpoint is just really pushing it.
Tommy is panicking cause, who wouldn't?
Imagining being in Tommy's position, being held by gunpoint while your father figure is trying to get the person to let you go.
Phil is trying his hardest to get his instinct under control until he finally loses control.
He falls to the ground, wrapping his arms around himself.
He tries to stop the changing but can't, once he shifts sizes, he growls at the person to let Tommy go.
The person does that and runs away.
Phil, running on instincts, scoops Tommy up and walks away with Tommy safely.
If you wanna do this then go ahead.
Makes this as angsty as you want, but also have fluff at the side. If you want it to have noms, go ahead.
You can pick the person who held Tommy at gunpoint.
You can also have a backstory on how Tommy and Phil met.
Also, if you wanna send me a prompt, go ahead.

There were one too many things that could occur when taking a hybrid outside, into a human-heavy, busy city. Too many that Phil didn’t take into consideration. When he had asked Tommy if he wanted fresh air and a chance to stretch his legs properly for the first time in weeks, he had only thought there would be the occasional dirty look with the additional rude remark. But, he had underestimated just how far people  will go to get the point across that if someone isn’t fully human, they’re as good as dead to the rest of society. He’s putting both of them in danger just stepping outside of their homes, but he couldn’t bear to see the kid that he’s now responsible for sit on the couch for hours on end, finding the most addictive shit to watch and never getting up until he turns in for the night. Phil wanted, and probably needed to add excitement to his day. And, he will admit, there are a lot of different ways they could’ve spiced the day up, but they ended up choosing to go on a walk.
Phil doesn't think either of them could've guessed how it would end. He had been too caught up in his thoughts of someone looking at Tommy and saying congratulations. It was the worst he’d heard that evening, and it just twisted his mind too tight for him to even process what the hell was going on inside that man’s mind when he said that. While he knew there were plenty of people who treated shifters like him and hybrids like Tommy as if they were a disgrace for something out of their control, he never really understood why.
But, as Tommy stood at gunpoint, his tail swaying quickly to show his anxious self, he didn't have time to ponder on the mysteries of humans and instead focused on trying to slowly, gently talk the gunman out of the act that would end in Tommy’s death or his imprisonment. “Listen, mate, he’s a child.” He said, careful to keep his words firm, while still holding  a respectful and soft voice — one wrong move and Tommy is as good as gone; he must be careful.
He could see the gunman tense, as if he was growing more agitated with every syllable that left his lips. “We can talk about this,”
A sharp sigh echoed through the alleyway. Phil, for a moment, thought he had done something. It turns out he had, but the outcome was the opposite of what he wanted. “Shut up.” The man said sharply, pushing the gun against Tommy’s head, causing a cry of pain from Tommy when the sudden pressure was enough to shove his head against the brick wall behind him. Panic grew in Phil’s heart, instincts going haywire, spilling out of the container he’d spent so long getting them into. “Please, put the gun down.”
“I would, but, it’s not your decision to make,” There was a short pause, where tension grew even thicker. Phil could feel himself slipping. There was a sudden click, and Phil’s emotions ran cold when it registered in his mind that the gunman had cocked the weapon and pressed it further into Tommy’s skin. The teenage victim’s eyes widened as he presumably caught onto what had happened, and Phil could see how he desperately wanted to find a plan that wouldn’t end in his death. “What do you say?” The man asked, an uncomfortable amount of amusement behind his words. They replayed in his mind as he lost control, the contained completely collapsing in on itself, allowing all of his instincts to take over his mind. Inch by inch he could feel himself grow out of his body and into a new one, one where he could keep Tommy safe. Safe, safe, safe, safe, safe- words that he had outgrown when as he grew up returned, a weird feeling of familiarity returning to him. He eventually got himself under control. Opening his tightly shut eyes, he recognized himself as a size he’d been itching to grow into. He easily towered above the gunman and Tommy, narrowed eyes nearly flaming with anger boring down not at Tommy but at the man holding the innocent child at gunpoint, simply because he had features unhuman-like. It did not make him any less of a living, breathing person.
“Put the gun down,” He repeated his words, venom lacing it, much more so than it had been when he stood a few inches shorter than the duo ahead of him. Now crouched behind the two, his voice echoed around the alleyway that he barely fit into. The gunman tensed at the words, and down the gun went. It collided with the gray pavement darkened by his shadow with a loud thud, and the man spent no time running out of the place, leaving Tommy staring up, startled and possibly even more scared than he had been with the gun against his skin. “Wha-” his friend choked on his words, and Phil could see the tears forming. As much as he wanted to go back to a human size, he still had a lack of control over his abilities. He had a good idea on how to control himself, but everything had been tossed out the door when he saw Tommy’s threatener go a step too far. “Tommy, Tommy-” Instincts wanted to take over, they craved control, however he pushed it down to the best of his ability. He kept his hands away from the hybrid, just staring down at him with concerned eyes.
–
He had trusted Phil to talk the man down, but he didn’t want him to scare the gunman away in the particular way he did. Because now he stared up, wide-eyed at the man he’d grown to call a makeshift father, who towered over him. His shadow overcasted his shaking form, eyes simply looking at him, nothing more. They stared into his soul it felt like, and he couldn’t help but grow uncomfortable at the stare. The pace of his tail had picked up and his ears had gone slightly flat against his head. Tommy swallowed nervously. He no longer had a weapon against his forehead, but he had something far worse ahead of him. He had tried not to show emotion while a man was threatening him, but he released all the suppressed and new emotions with a quick, open sob. He wanted to run, to scream for help. But he knew that wouldn’t work, no one would help his kind.
Tommy’s body still begged to run.
He inched his way to the side, slowly quickening his pace until he made a last ditch effort to run from the alley and escape the shifter, the traitor, his friend, whichever title. However the attempt was useless, for Phil was calling his name and he had no time to react to the shadow of a hand creeping behind his form and effortlessly lifting him from the ground and raising him much too high for his comfort. “No! Fuck- no!” He choked, his voice cracking what felt every second. He sobbed, pushing away at the hand that fisted him, placing his hands against the edge of Phil’s forefinger and pushing up to try and escape. He couldn’t. “Shh, sh, Tommy, please, mate, you’re okay,”
“No, you- you dick, put me fu- fucking down!” He cried out, sniffling in as he continued to make a terrible effort to get away. Logically he knew he would have nowhere to go if he truly did manage to escape, but the hope of trying tugged at his mind and he continued, tiring himself out without even properly realizing, or even caring. “Tommy, please,” Phil pleaded, teary eyes looking down at him. Some part of him felt bad, but no part of him was showing. “Put me down.”
“Okay, listen, okay? Just listen to me,” Phil said with soft words. Tommy stopped instantly when he caught onto the single speck of harshness Phil had put into his words, somehow only catching onto that instead of his attempt of being comforting. It’s like he was only interested in the brutality Phil offered in his words, even when all he wanted was to know Phil wasn’t going to hurt him. “I won’t hurt you, alright? I- I assumed you’d feel more safe- I just wanted to scare him off.” “No- no you didn’t, you lying asshole! I trusted you, you massive dick!” Tommy spat, baring his fangs at Phil despite knowing full well he wouldn’t be able to intimidate the giant. No matter how much he wanted to believe Phil, he simply couldn’t. There was a tense silence, one where the only thing that could be heard was Tommy’s labored breaths from his panic and struggle, which had easily tired him. He was moving far too quickly and with much too many words going through his mind. “Listen, Tommy, there’s a certain point where my instincts take over and won’t let me.. change,” Phil began, and Tommy for once listened, skepticism still sitting in the front of his mind for a front-row view of whatever the man had to say. “But protecting you is literally the only thing I want to do right now.” He confessed semi-quietly, like he was guilty of the fact. Tommy furrowed his brows, his tears slowing down as panic packed up and took its final leave. For now, at least. “Y- you can’t change back?” He echoed. “No. But, I can, just not right now.” Tommy still shook his head in disbelief. “Why- why are you still holding me? Put me fucking down, I can get home on my own without your stupid, lying ass to take me there. It’s not like-”
“Over this way.” Tommy was cut off by the sound of a loud voice, not belonging to Phil, but the same gunman from before. Both of their eyes widened as they recognized the formal voice instantly. “Shit,” Phil mumbled, shoving, and he means shoving, Tommy into the pocket of his hoodie instantly. He yelped at the sudden change of surroundings, His ears flattened once more, and a whine escaped his throat. He shuffled around, attempting to get steady footing after he stood, but he was merely tossed against the fabric. The outside speeded past him as Phil began moving at a rapid pace, taking no time to check in on the unsecured passenger in his pocket. He was jostled slightly with every running step Phil took, every comfortable spot he found immediately being pushed out of place. He looked outside once more, now recognizing the assortment of green and brown colors morphing into a blur of the two colors to be a forest. The forest was just outside the city – it was likely Phil had simply gone over the fence blocking the alley from the outside.
A feeling of dread pooled down into his stomach mixing with the feeling of sickness added to his rapid heart breath and struggled breathing. He did not know when Phil would take the time to slow down and reveal the situation to him, but for now he had to settle with watching the world pass by him in a stretch of colors while trying to adjust to being tossed far too many times for his liking.
Frankly, Phil had no idea where he was going when he stood and stepped over the fence. He began running, just placing one foot in front of the other as the forest came closer and closer to him. He had inches against the trees, making for a difficult run, but he managed as well as he could. The thoughts of Tommy rotated around his head a hundredfold, never settling down. It was likely that they wouldn’t until Phil was able to stop and check in on him. But, for now, he must find a place to hide out before the hunter – and some type of cop or other hunters – found him, and worse, Tommy.

The Night of the Giant Statues
Warning(s): Cursing, Mentions of hard vore, Ready to embrace death (I think you know what I mean by embracing death), Mentions of su!c!de
Sorry that I keep saying full names over and over again TwT
2nd part: Getting to know of Each Other
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was Tommy's first night as the museum's night guard.
The museum contained things of the past.
Like Greek Mythology, ways of how to win a war back then in the early days, hell, even the types of gods and pantheons.
As boring as all that shit sounds, it sounded interesting to a lot of nerds who are into stuff from the past.
And it was safe to say that Tommy was one of those nerds.
Sue him for that, but was it worth it learning about the past?
To some no.
To others yes.
Tommy couldn't care less.
So back to what he was doing, he was just patrolling around the museum, making sure everything was in place.
He went to one of his favorite sections of the whole museum.
The SBI Section.
It's a section with three gods that used to be a bit problematic back then.
But, as every story starts, there will always be an end to that story.
The people of back then gathered together, and made the three gods into stone.
One by one.
The first one to turn to stone Wilbur Soot, God of Insanity, Music, and Trickery.
They manage trick him.
How? Tommy himself doesn't know since it doesn't specify how they trick a god of trickery.
The next was Philza, God of Hardcore, Void, and Life.
He was Death's Husband, they turned him into stone while he was grieving from his already turned stone son.
The last one to turn to stone was Technoblade, God of Combat, Blood, and Destruction.
A powerful warrior beat him in a duel, both of them made a deal.
If Technoblade wins, both Philza and Wilbur Soot would be out of their stone cages of eternity and punish the people who turned them to stone.
If the warrior wins, Technoblade would accept loss and would allow the people to turn him into stone with the two other stone gods.
The warrior almost lost, but Technoblade got too cocky, and that's what caused him his downfall with the two other gods.
The warrior won, Technoblade lost fair and square, and let himself be turned to stone, next to his two friends.
He turned his flashlight to the stone statues, he walked to closer to them.
He looked at the gods faces.
The one in the middle, Wilbur Soot, he had a look of horror, betrayed, and other emotions Tommy couldn't tell, he looked like he was on the floor, or knocked down to the floor.
On Wilbur Soot's right, there was Philza, he had his arms and wings wrapped around his son's body, with his face on the gods shoulder.
On Wilbur Soot's left, there was Technoblade, a look of acceptance, but with also the promise of coming back to get revenge on the people who turned them into stone, his hand on Wilbur Soot's shoulder.
It's been a millennium of years since the day the SBI got turned into stone until the end of earth.
"A tragic ending for you guys to end up like stone." Tommy muttered under his breathe.
He then walked away from the stone gods.
If he were to look closely or stayed for a few more seconds, he would have seen a crack and a glow coming from that crack.
He went into the other sections of the museum.
He didn't know why the people who made the museum decided to have the ceiling as tall and high as it is.
But he couldn't argue, if he would, he would think that he would lose his job on the spot.
After a while of roaming the place, sleep was starting to get to him, so he went to where there was a coffee station.
And it was a coincidence that it was near the SBI section.
When he was pouring in the coffee in a mug, he heard some voices.
It sounded like the voices were in the SBI section.
When he went in the section again, Tommy except to find either kids, teens, or intruders.
Not the SBI statues that weren't statues anymore.
He must have accidentally dropped his coffee mug because after a few seconds of staring at now alive statues without them noticing there was a shattering noise that made the three problematic gods look towards him.
He took one step back and all of the sudden, all three of them launched at him!!
He fucking booked it to a hiding place to camp out until they left him alone.
Tommy did juke the gods for a good while, deep inside Tommy knew that playing tag all those years ago when he was younger paid off real well.
Then Tommy decided to climb to somewhere high, he knows Philza has wings but it’s worth a shot.
And he doubts that after all those years being trapped as a statue would do any good on the god, might be a rusty flight after years of not using them.
After getting to the highest point, he stopped to catch his breath.
He heard someone clear their throat, and he looked down.
Oh Shit.
They were right below him, looking at him.
“So are you gonna get down or...?” Asked Philza.
“No, I rather stay up here where I am fine and away from you three.” That probably wasn’t the right thing to say but Tommy was panicking alright?!
“C’mon, we won’t hurt you.....Maybe.” Said the Brunette.
“What do you fucking mean “Maybe” bitch?!?!”
“He really does curse like a sailor don’t you think?” Said the pinkette.
The other two seemed to ignore Technoblade, and seemed more focused on Tommy.
He only zoned out for a few seconds (It was actually for like a minute) before zoning back in only to be met with gigantic feet.
He looked up, meeting the three gods huge faces.
He tried to back away but Philza grabbed him before he had any chance to run anywhere.
“Wilbur, could you go check if anyone is around other than him?” The brunette nodded at the Blond.
“Techno, please follow Wilbur in case something happens.” The pinkette said nothing, except a hum of confirmation.
As the two gods walked away after turning to human size, Tommy looked back at the one holding him.
“I am really sorry about me and my friends scaring you to death, but are you okay?”
...
What the fuck?
He didn’t know that one of the gods would be capable of apologizing.
He also didn’t know that they were actually able to change their sizes, it wasn’t even mentioned in the fun facts for gods sake!!
“How?” He couldn’t stop himself asking that question, he needed answers. And he wanted those answers now.
“How what?”
“How are you able to change sizes? It’s never mention in the history of gods, even in yours.”
“Oh, well we gods were always able to change our sizes for as long as I could remember, though, we have our limits to how much small and tall we can get.”
Tommy took a big breath, then let it out.
“Also, there used to be a fact about us gods changing our sizes but I think that got taken out of the god’s history since I think they didn’t believe it or because it was something that someone made up and took it out.”
“Must have been an idiotic person to take that out.” Tommy mumbled.
“What was that? I couldn’t quite hear you.” The god said with curiosity in his tone.
“Nothing, just thinking out loud to myself.” He responded back.
“Must be some loud thoughts for you to think out loud.” Philza laughed a bit.
Before Tommy could say anything, another voice came into the room.
“Phil, it seems like the tiny little human is all alone in whatever you call this place.” The brunette said as he was walking inside the room.
“It’s called a museum you dick, sure, you may be gods, but that doesn’t mean that you have all of my respect. You want my respect? Earn it yourself.”
Silence overtook the room between the gods and Tommy, and he doesn’t even feel one ounce of fear in his body.
“What did you just say to me you little morsel?” The god said with the promise of murder hidden underneath the question.
“Are you fucking deaf mate? I said if you want my fucking respect, earn it you little bitch!!” Tommy yelled as loudly as he could.
The god stepped closer to Tommy.
“If you want to live at this moment, I suggest you shut your mouth before I put you in my mouth and crunch you like you’re nothing but food.” The god threatened, but Tommy wasn’t scared one bit.
“Then what’s stopping you from doing it right now huh? I’m not even afraid of death, in fact, I welcome it with a warm embrace.”
That seemed to startle both the gods in the room, he was then lifted closer to Philza’s face.
“Mate you don’t mean that right? I think what you meant is that you’re not afraid of death but not ready to embrace it yet right?” Philza desperately said, as if trying to reassure himself.
His silence was enough to answer to Philza’s question.
“Mate, you look really young to off yourself, and you have so much to live for.” Philza said, trying to comfort Tommy.
“Not all of us have a happy life to begin with, some of us humans struggle to live to the point of just not wanting to and deciding to off themselves. That is one of the harsh truths of life.”
Everything is quiet once again. Not even the cricket noises were playing.
An alarm goes off, Tommy checks his phone. Seeing it was the end of his shift.
"What is that thing you have in your hand?" Wilbur Soot asked with a look of curiosity.
"It's my phone, I have it so I can use it for when it's time to start and leave my shift." Tommy explained.
"Now can you put me down, I need to go home." Tommy said, Philza's hand lowered him down to the floor.
"Will you come back again tonight?" Philza asks.
"I mean yeah, I have to if I want to keep my job." Tommy says.
"Okay, make sure to come back tonight or I will personally find you and make you come back." Philza kindly threatens.
Tommy doubts the god could actually find where he lives, but he doesn't say anything about it.
"Go off I guess, please for the love of god don't destroy the museum or I will be fired from this job and it actually pays well." Tommy said as he was walking away.
Once he got to the entrance, he didn't see Technoblade anywhere near the entrance.
He shrugs it off and goes home, unaware that one of the gods have already adopted him as if he was their son.
Your Love (Deja Vu) [ch 2]
masterpost | previous | next
Phil stores his sons during a fight, revealing his true nature to them. Caught up in the moment, he doesn't get a chance to explain to them and falls asleep. When he wakes up, they're inconsolable.
CW: - gore - minor character death - Phil eats people - hard vore - soft vore
title taken from 'Your Love (Deja Vu)' by Glass Animals but specifically the stripped back version because that makes me cry
word count: 1.7k 💔 read it on AO3
Phil wakes up with the sun on his face, covered in blood. That's never a good thing, but it's especially a not-good thing when one is a giant with adopted human children who doesn't immediately remember the previous day's events. He blinks dazedly at the sky, the taste of raw human still faint in his mouth and panics as the worst conclusion instantly plants itself in his mind.
His heart pounds and he sits up fast; worry, shame, and grief working their way into every nerve when the memories rush him like a flood.
Oh. Fuck.
At least I didn't digest my fucking kids, he thinks hysterically. He can feel them in his storage, huddled together and probably - no, definitely terrified.
Guilt curls unpleasantly in his gut, somewhere between the soldiers and his sons, and he squeezes his eyes shut.
"Boys?" He whispers. "Are you...?" He can't bring himself to finish the sentence - of course they're not okay, they're probably losing their minds.
He can feel them shift around. It's silent for agonizing seconds until there's a small, half whimpered, "Dad?" from inside.
His heart leaps, and then promptly crashes as he hears a whispered, "Tommy! Shut the fuck up - ! " accompanied by a struggling sensation in his storage.
He experimentally lays a hand across his midsection and gently rubs circles into his brood pouch. They jolt away from that part of the storage and press themselves into the opposing wall. Hot shame climbing his throat, he reluctantly stops.
"Hey, hey - it's okay, everything is okay," he gently murmurs to them, trying to imbue his words with as much love and reassurance as he can. "You're all safe; I would never do anything to - " he trails off guiltily. He's already hurt them. Pathetically, he finishes, "I love you. So, so much."
He slowly stands up, painfully aware of how his movements are affecting them.
They've never been in his brooding pouch before and this has been a horrible introduction. He never wanted to store them in the first place ( - a blatant lie. He had wanted this days into taking them in - ) and this has been exactly why. They see him as a monster now. They witnessed him massacre an army; thought for an entire night that their own father had eaten them - they waited that long to digest!
He breathes, trying to steady his rushing heartbeat. They can hear it, that's the nature of storage pouches, and he doesn't want them to know how scared he is.
"Give me ten minutes, okay? I'll bring you out soon." He speaks calmly, sounding more controlled than he is.
He doesn't have a giant toothbrush, he notes numbly.  There's gristle and blood undoubtedly stuck in his teeth, and he knows without checking that his breath smells like meat and death. He stares at his hands in dismay; they're caked in flaking, dry blood. His clothes are ruined. He doesn't want them to see him like this.
A cruel voice in his brain reminds him that they already have.
He walks a steady pace to a nearby river - at his size, closer to a small stream - and begins to clean himself off. He got rid of all his giant sized clothes when he took in the kids, reasoning to himself that it would be more trouble than it was worth hiding them for a few decades when he spent nearly all his time pretending to be human anyway. He regrets that now, regarding his bloodstained shirt and jeans. He rinses his mouth - once, twice, six times - and does his best to brush and clean with his fingers and watery reflection. He picks a few bone fragments from his teeth and tosses them into the river, before remembering that the twins love to play there. He stares at the water in horror and hopes neither of them ever stumble across the remains.
Well fuck, he thinks to himself. There's nothing I can do about that now.
He takes another look at his reflection. Most of the blood is gone and his mouth is considerably better than before, but it's still - it's not good enough. It will never be good enough.
How gross is his mouth right now? He cleaned what he could, but what if there's still blood clinging to his teeth? They'll see it when he brings them back up. They've already seen it. They saw it after he'd just eaten twenty or thirty people, they thought that he was trying to do the same thing to them -
He inhales sharply and blinks back tears.
He's a monster. They see that now. He has to face the music.
He makes his way back to the cottage. He stops on his way there to stare at the blood soaked field his rampage had taken place. There are still bits and pieces of people lying on the field. He regards the sky, feeling numb. They're due for rainfall soon... and the local wildlife will scavenge the loose meat. There's nothing else to be done except hope that the kids don't come out to the field between now and whenever it looks less fucked up and bloody. He continues to the house.
When he arrives, he kneels before the front door and tries to muster the courage to speak with his kids. He stares at the house for longer than he should and he can feel them nervously stir in his gut.
"Boys?"
They don't respond. He hadn't really expected them to.
"I... You don't need to be scared of what's about to happen," he begins gently. "It'll feel like a pull. Don't resist, alright? It's - it's okay if you do, I understand if you do, but please try to relax."
He can feel them moving, standing up and shuffling about in a panicked kind of way, and before he can second guess himself, he starts to bring someone up.
The muscles in his storage clamp down around a figure, and the screaming starts. His heart pounds wildly and he has to fight himself to keep going. They're struggling - he thinks it's Techno - squirming and wriggling, which is bad enough on its own, but fighting too, punching and kicking back. He flinches at the sharp pain, his eyes starting to sting. The tissue lining his storage tube is soft and easily damaged (because normal parents don't terrify their children into tearing them apart from the inside), and whoever is coming up is determined not to make the journey easy. He goes quickly, unwilling to prolong this for either of them, and when they finally reach the top and tumble into his mouth, it's all he can do to not spit them into his hand. They taste like Technoblade, confirming his suspicion. Tech is still fighting, punching at any surface he can reach, and being particularly harsh with Phil's tongue.
He forces himself to go slowly now. He brings Techno to the front of his mouth and cups his hands at his chin. Before his mouth is even fully open, Techno is clawing his way out. He lands in Phil's hands and scrambles up, blinking dumbly at his father with a slight shake in his body.
Phil stares at him. "... Hello," he rasps out.
Technoblade snaps from his stupor, shrinking backwards only to flinch away as he hits Phil's curled fingers.
"Oh - okay, okay, I'm putting you down - I'm putting you down," he sets Techno in front of their door while stumbling over his words. He leans back, giving him space. "You - you should take a shower."
Techno never take his eyes off Phil, retreating slowly and grasping blindly for the doorknob. As soon as he finds it, he's gone, and Phil sighs defeatedly.
He massages his throat, wincing in pain. It'll bruise and possibly tear, but he knows he deserves it.
He clears his voice. "Tommy? Wilbur?"
They still.
"Your big brother is fine. Someone else needs to come up now," he explains tiredly. "Please, please don't squirm. That makes it more difficult for both of us."
He starts the process again. Something is very wrong. The lump coming up is too big, has too many limbs and - fuck. They're coming up together. His eyes widen as he realizes, but it's too late now, and he knows there's nothing he can do if this is what they want. They're hugging each other, which makes it harder to move or attack him, but his throat burns from the stretch of bringing up two of his brood at once.
They fall into his mouth, still clinging to teach other. They're silent but shaking and Phil feels a fresh wave of shame collapse over him. He brings them forward and opens his mouth, gently releasing them into his palm.
Wilbur holds Tommy in a vicelike grip, his eyes squeezed shut and Tommy's face buried in his chest.
Phil resists the urge to inspect them. He keep his fingers a respectful distance from the pair, knowing that any kind of touch is traumatic right now.
He clears his throat again, and feels how torn up it is. It burns when he speaks and his voice sounds like a creaking door. "You're okay... open your eyes."
It takes a few seconds but Wilbur peeks. He opens his eyes wider, in awe of the sky and nature, though his grip on Tommy never ceases.
Phil starts to move them to the porch but Tommy squeals and curls even more into Wilbur's arms, causing him to freeze instantly.
"Sorry. Sorry," he whispers. "I'm just putting you by the house. I - I'm sorry."
They're silent and still.
He starts to move again, painfully slow and tense.
He deposits them gently on the ground and as soon as he's a safe distance away, the door swings open and Technoblade grabs Tommy by the leg, literally dragging him through the door. Wilbur scrambles in after, falling over himself to get away from Phil. The door shuts with a resounding slam, and Phil can't help but flinch away from the noise.
He stares at the house for a few seconds before shrinking down into his human form. Thirty minutes later, he gets up the nerve to knock on the door.
Shifter!Au.
(this is stemming from my own need to learn more about animals plus an obsession with shifter AUs)
Okay, so Price, he's a little difficult. I wanted to give him a strong animal, one who typically leads the pack...but then I did a little research and decided he's an ✨️Emperor Penguin Shifter✨️, hence why he NEVER shifts in the field. The base has a freezer area to accommodate for arctic animal shifters, and Price literally built a slide to slide around in there. When he finds the others shifted when they didn't want to be, he'll shift and kinda corral them into a safe and comfortable space? If that makes sense.
Gaz. Wild Water Buffalo shifter. Just like the actual Wild Water Buffalo, these types are RARE. They're also endangered. They have a 'pack' mentality, although these are called clans among both shifters and the actual Buffalos themselves. Him and his family are all Wild Water Buffalo shifters as well. They're all scattered across the world, so it's rare to see them. He's got the largest bloodline of Wild Water Buffalo shifters. He often wrestles with Price when he's shifted and Price isn't. Also he gives Price bull-back rides. He tends to shift when mass destruction is needed in battle, because Wild Water Buffalos are like fuckin tanks. They're fast, tough, and can deal mass amounts of damage.
Soap. He's a Red Fox shifter! They're playful, quick, stealthy, territorial, but also really friendly! A perfect match for our silly Scot! He's also the one who shifts the most, because he's the most comfortable in his animal form. He's got two packs. His family and the Force. He doesn't shift in the field unless he's needed to complete stealth missions or get out of a situation really fast. When shifted on base, he'll often tear up the spare punching bags, leading Price to have ordered more than the usual amount, just in case. He also likes using the other three as a jungle gym.
Ghost. He's a Black Panther shifter, originating from the Jaguar shifter line. His mother was a shifter, his father was not. Tommy was also a shifter, as children of shifters tend to take after their mother. The whole shifter thing contributed to both his abuse from his dad and the torture from Roba. He really doesn't shift unless absolutely necessary, so most people think he's not even a shifter. When he does shift in battle, it's often for the increased agility and claws. Ghost suppresses his shifting which is damaging and dangerous. This leads to increased irritability. Soap is the one who eventually gets Ghost to start shifting more.
Tags: @bringinsexybackk69 (if you wanna be added to the Shifter!Taglist, lemme know!)
I'm still figuring out what everyone else is, but I figured I'd bring out the main four first!
