DPXDC Prompt #142
It was considered a pretty big deal when a new ancient gets born. Danny didn’t and wouldn’t know this when he gets into an accident. A signal went out to all magic users that the ancient of space was born as soon as he stepped out of the portal and then things changed. If you could make a deal with an ancient it increased your power way more than that of a demon. Soon Danny gets chased by all sorts of folk trying to make a deal with him. He then gets caught by John Constantine who takes him back to the safety of the watchtower. What is the safest place to put the space ancient? In space!

Help guys. In school, my LA teacher had us to try free writing. The prompt that he give us was "alarm" and I decided to write about a short Ttte snippet. He gave us three minutes to write it and when it was done, I looked at my paragraph and HOLY SHIT HOW THE HECK DID I MANAGED TO WRITE ABOUT EDWARD THROWING HIS ALARM OUT OF THE WINDOW AND ACCIDENTALLY GIVING THE FAT CONTROLLER A CONCUSSION. I DID NOT EXPECT FOR THAT SNIPPET TO ESCALATE THAT QUICKLY 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

I have been trying to figure out how to even describe my latest fic, for the benefit of all the broken hearts, of which I've now posted 3 chapters of (out of 19). Which I love and I'm proud of; it's is a weird technical flex as a writer and the most work I've put into any writing in any genre in my entire life. And also, I'm way out on my niche bullshit: it's a fix-it for another fic, and it's sort of but not exactly RPF, and maybe it's original fiction but not quite?
And I'm prevaricating, writing all this, being afraid of -- well, something, some kind of reaction -- and that's interesting, too, in the same way as discovering my weird reaction to the choose your own adventure project.
It is, per the actual summary on AO3: A fix-it sequel to Water Flowing Underground, following Ed’s unnamed second wife as she pokes through the wreckage and kicks down doors, and maybe finds the universe four doors down.
I have been working on it for almost seven months, pretty exclusively since mid-January (my ongoing apologies to readers of Hungry for love in particular). It has become the obsession that I could never have predicted, into which I have thrown a variety of thoughts about varieties of love and the aftermath of tragedy, creativity and femininity and identity, a set of matryoshka dolls on the theme of what it's possible to know about anyone else, famous or intimate (or oneself).
Also it's entirely set to the Carly Rae Jepsen album The Loneliest Time, which I have had on repeat for much of the last seven months. And yes, the lower case song lyric title is from the first song on that album. (And also yes, if you have seen me or various associates tag things as "carlita coded", this story is what we're talking about.)
I have to give so much love and appreciation to @emi--rose, who gave me so many wild ideas and so much encouragement, to @veeagainsttheday, who read a very early draft and then was an excellent beta, and to @gaypiratebrainrot, who wrote the original that melted my brain and then betaed this -- all of you have pushed me to be a better writer and a better thinker. Thanks as well to several other friends who have listened to me expound at length on this story and related subjects, it is greatly appreciated.

What are some ships or concepts you wished more people in the Inscryption fandom would explore?
I'm honestly not a big ship guy unless it's either really compelling or really funny. But as for concepts, I really wish people would just get a little weirder with stuff. I know that's a vast generalization—Inscryption as a game is already weird as hell by merit of existing—but I want to see more headcanons/writing quirks that are like "Leshy has parts of every animal, not just cervids—so he has leg spurs like a cricket and gets pin feathers in his fur like a bird" or "Video game logic applies ever so slightly in that characters can learn to reach into the code and pull out the assets allotted to them from hammerspace" or just... whatever the hell is going on with Magnificus in general. I love it when the universe the characters are in is already So Damn Weird that anything goes/the quirks of the world itself impacts those living in it and they hardly even notice because that's just Everyday Life.
Also just generally blue and orange morality stuff. Too much "the Scrybes are evil in a way that can be easily understood" and not enough "the Scrybes aren't evil in a clear-cut way but obviously SOMETHING is wrong here in a way that is So Much Worse than I originally preconceived." Fun stuff

DPXDC Prompt #144
Jazz had really been trying her best lately. Her aim had gotten a bit better but her baby brother kept getting sucked into the thermos by her. She really did just want to help him out and make his life easier but instead she kept getting a in the way. They had found him wandering the streets with no memory at 5 years but whenever he’d get questioned about his past family he’d look around the room for someone before he’d hide behind Jazz and try not to cry.
The portal accident followed not too soon after his 7th birthday and about a year had passed. It started with a simple wish, “I wish I knew what he went through when he was younger.” Suddenly she found herself shrinking smaller and smaller until she looked about 8. Then she gets thrown into a portal and when she gets up she meets a kid about the same age as Danny. This kid looked like him except for his emerald green eyes.
