Anyway here’s my Ciaran Singleton theory: he’s real (as in a human character and not like an AI with his name) and took the divergent path from Maura. Namely, Maura went the neuroscience route, and Ciaran went the neuropsychology route. Both had similar reasons, namely their messed up family and obsession with people’s behavior and reasoning, and how to alter that, but Maura went nuts and bolts of brains while Ciaran went into the less defined emotional reasoning. Which helps explain their father’s attitude to each, and makes his disdain for emotion, love and mistakes all the more charged.
Point being, when the mission came about, Maura went to her brother for the emotional underpinning of the simulation meant to occupy their minds in the void of space/en route/during hibernation. But Ciaran, like Searle in Sunshine before him, is not the sanest of psych officers. Of course, if you ask him, he did it all for good. For making them confront their psychological issues.
He’s not taking advantage of what he knows, in manifesting their mental scars physically in the simulation, or in putting them in soul-breaking scenarios. He’d call it therapeutic, about exploring their relationships. That’s why he split them up, and twisted their views (I like to think Iben is a devout atheist, Ramiro took one look at Ángel’s baggage and knew he wouldn’t put himself through that for a man, Krester has 0 hangups about his sexuality and might be a little vain, Lucien is a nebbishy loser who quietly covets Jerome/Clemence’s bond and J’s authority and in getting it is even more tormented......)
The only reason he altered his sister’s simulation was to provide closure, catharsis, new perspective! He’s helping, that’s what he does. It’s not torture, Maura, he’s not playing God the way she planned to. Except, of course, in the ways in which he is.

warnings- swearing, drinking
words- 1.5k
Tumblr media
"Y/n come on you've been getting ready for like fucking hours!" Lilly cried storming around my room "you look sexy now lets go!" I loved Lilly but she was a family friend- and those friends you can't get rid of...
"will you give me a fucking second I'm doing my lipstick and then we can go alright-" I snapped back seeing her huff "thank you" I finished my make-up and got up from the desk, my jeans clung to my hips just covering my heals, my tube top strapping around me, hair ironed and make-up as perfect as I could get it I was ready "come then" I said thudding down the stairs hearing her follow closely behind "Bye dad- be back soon" I waved seeing him just blow a kiss
"come on we need to hurry-" she began as I started my engine "its on Burns street" I nodded pulling from the drive and making our way to the party, music blasted through the car and we sung along to every song we knew until we finally saw the house "fuck thats lot more than what Henry said their would be"
"no shit-" I parked up and locked the car, Lilly and I walked in smiling to people we knew and made a bee line for the make-shift bar
"Y/n! Lilly!" a voice shouted over the music that was booming everywhere, we looked to find Henry the man himself holding a bottle of vodka loosely between his fingers along with a cigaret that wasn't lit
"hey babe" Lilly smirked walking over and pressing kiss to his cheek "thanks for inviting us" he held her waist whispering something into her ear making me roll my eyes as I poured some liquid into my cup
"I'll let you guys do whatever this is and I'll find you later alright" the girl nodded but I knew she wasn't listening, she was always so all over Henry it was repulsive, I moved through the crowd until I saw a familiar face smiling to me "Kira!" I hugged her, Kira was a friend that I just loved being around, she was just pure but dirty all at the same time
"hey hun! where's little Lilly?" I pointed back to the bar and she nodded "shagging her playmate?"
"of course" we laughed hitting our cups and taking a swig "who are you here with?" I asked leaning closer so she could here me
"oh I came with ..oh Georg! Georg come here!" Georg and Kira were like brother and sister but just not related and had a lot of sexual tension.. so not really like brother and sister but you get the gist. I watched was the long haired boy wondered over winking at a few girls until he reached us
"hey y/n" I smiled "looking good" he was always a flirt "anyway wanna come play a game of beer pong? we need two players" I looked to the girl who nodded grabbing my arm and dragging me as we followed Georg through a sea of sweaty teenagers, people shoved and yelled as we walked past and all I did was spit curses at them until we made it to the kitchen where the island had been made into a ping pong table, I saw Georg fist bump a boy and my eyes met with his
"fuck" I spoke seeing Tom- he was different now though, hair In long, black braids, bandana around his head and a huge coat covering his body
"oh- I forgot to mention he's with us" I fluttered my eyes agreeing to her words finishing my drink and putting the empty cup to the side "okay who's starting"
"ladies first" his voice hit my stomach, it shouldn't have had made me feel so uneasy, Kira grabbed the ball and went to throw "and and also you have to do a dare for every cup the other team make" of course, Tom couldn't play any game without some sort of consequence
"fine" she through the ball and it missed the table "shit" I laughed as she stomped her foot on the ground, Georg picked it up and through it straight into our cup "you're joking- whats the dare?" the boys looked to each other and whispered a few words before agreeing
"drink the cup at the same time" me and Kira rolled our eyes grabbing the cup and putting it between our mouths, beer spilled down our chins, rolling down our chests "nice view" we pulled the cup away and Kira chucked it at the boy
"perv" it was my turn, I lifted the ball and moved to the middle of the island, lining my hand up and with a small count down it landed in the centre cup "Yes Y/n!" Tom took it out looking to me waiting for me to speak
"take off that god awful coat Tom- and Georg you can drink" Tom huffed slipping his coat off revealing his toned arms against his black shirt and Georg didn't hesitate to drink. The game carried on until we both only had 3 cups to go, me and Kira were now stood in our bra's and I had Tom's bandana around my thigh, the boys however had no shoes on, Georg's hair was tied in a bun and Tom was having to have a bow in the end of his braid, I felt a tap on my shoulder and turned to see Lilly looking sweatier than before and lips redder "hey!"
"ohh beer pong!" she cheered
"were doing it with dares, wanna do the dare if Tom makes this shot, she hummed standing between our sides with a face that screamed she'd just been fucked somewhere in the house, Tom flung the ball and it landed in our middle cup
"woo!" he clapped watching as I took the cup to my lips, chugging the beer until it was empty "whats their dare?"
"erm... ah- Y/n French with Tom for...3 minuets!" my stomach dropped, head snapping to her "come on!" I looked back over the table waiting for Tom to interject but he wasn't there
"wha-" I felt hands go under my thighs and lift me onto the island, I looked down to see Tom stood between my legs looking up to me "are you crazy?"
"sure... come on you lost and the dare is you've gotta kiss me, not me kiss you" I sighed thinking through ever decision I ever made, that being becoming friends with Lilly and agreeing to come to this party
"come on Y/n you've got this!" Kira called standing next the Georg who came to watch "at least its your ex not a total stranger!"
"oh yeah because that makes anything better!- fucks sake" my hands came to cup his jaw and I leant down "we never speak of this again alright?"
"just get it over and done with sweetheart- it's only me" he smirked and before I could even looked at his shit eating face anymore I pressed my lips against his and everything came flooding back- every kiss, hug, every time he held me, every time I slept between his arms, I felt locked and I never wanted to let go Tom's arms curled around my stomach pulling me closer, I finally let myself relax into him, hugging his neck. I felt him smile as he took a breather before diving back in again and I couldn't help but smile back, it felt.. nice being so close to him again
"Time!" Lilly called hitting my leg but I didn't let go, and nor did Tom "hello! guys you can stop now"
"I think they may need to have a few moments" I herd Kira laugh and she was right- I'd missed Tom so much, everyday I'd look back on all our photo's, the videos, the times I went to his concerts, when he came to the airport to pick me up after not seeing him for weeks, I missed him too much. The group had walked away leaving me and Tom still intertwined with each other the kiss came to a natural end, our foreheads knocked together while we both panted for air
"I- I love you" Tom spoke through breaths making my heart flutter "we shouldn't have broke up, it was so stupid- I need you in my life Y/n" I couldn't speak, words wouldn't form and my head was cloudy of his voice saying he loved me "nobody has ever compared to you, and they never will"
"I love you too" with the mix of alcohol and adrenaline my whole world seemed to brighten when Tom smiled, not one of his side smiles or smirks, his real smile "kiss me again" his hand held my jaw loosely as he leant up to kiss me again, our lips fit like puzzle pieces, it all felt so right
"come here" his voice was breathy as he lifted me off the counter and to the floor, I forget sometimes how tall he is- he was towering over me, I craned my head up to meet his again, before I could reach he pulled off a little, his big brown eyes looked into mine before he spoke again "be mine again?....please"
"of course" I wrapped my hands around his back and slid my hands into his pockets dragging his body closer to mine, our faces met and a soon as they did our lips were attached again... maybe this party wasn't so bad after all

Okay, I just spent, like over two hours talking about how a Leanna Firestone song (Tourniquet) is perfect for Shawn and I'll be damned if I don't make a post out of it so here we go, buckle up
Okay first of all, here's the song
Enjoy, it is VERY good
So let's get into this, yeah?
This includes my suicide attempt hc that I mentioned in a previous post in it
I have been listening to this song on loop and it's making me go just a touch feral
"You can get a new car, but you can't forget the way it sounds or feels to crash
High speed impact
Normally the first person I'd call was my dad"
But im imagining that hc/story we were talking about yesterday, so change the words tooooo.....🥁🥁🥁
"You can get a new car, but you can't forget the way it sounds or feels to crash
High speed impact
ALL BECAUSE THE FIRST PERSON I callED was my dad" AUDHDBJEHEJSJDJEJ
But, later on, I realised that the song ACTUALLY says "NO POLICE, the first person I called was my dad" NOT normally, which hits different in this context but doesn't actually change much
And like, him yelling it in front of everyoneeeee
Henry is THERE
They're all like....what do you mean by that...
He will not elaborate but now they know that apparently something bad happened to him because he called his dad?
"Shawn, what are you talking about"
Shawn does the dramatic "I said something I shouldn't have" hand over mouth clasp
He freezes, he stumbles over his words, then he makes a run for it
Everyone is just standing there confused as hell
It's such a not shawn thing to yell out and do tho that even Henry is slightly concerned
Or maybe just confused
Or offended at the implication that he somehow hurt shawn so bad with some random phonecall
And now there are a bunch of people needling him to tell them about wtf he was talking about
Pressuring him to tell them about this traumatic event
ESPECIALLY Gus, who would normally be in the loop about something like this so he's extremely concerned and maybe even a little hurt that Shawn won't tell him
Even Henry, who usually doesn't give a shit about this kind of thing, is trying to get it out of him
He mostly just wants to know what the hell shawn is blaming him for this time lol
But he doesn't get how serious this is
None of them do, that's why they keep trying to get it out of him
They just assume it's another one of those silly things he always has going on, not, yknow....SUICIDE
Not even his mom knows, maybe they'd try to call his mom bc he tells her pretty much everything and find out she ALSO doesn't know
Then they're like....Gus doesn't know......his mom doesn't know.....holy shit maybe this is serious
"Some people die before they're dead!
Building collapse, pressure outweighs the pain
I don't feel sad
I don't feel ANYTHING
Only will when the blood returns
But I'd rather be numb then know how bad I'm hurt"
Someone save my boy
He is emotionally constipated
His mom also might fly down to figure out what's happening after she gets that call
So now literally EVERYONE is bugging him about this
Poor Shawn, there's even a THERAPIST needling him about this traumatic event now 😭😭😭
And everybody wants to know
At this pace he's gonna become a hermit so he doesn't have to tell anyone 😭😭😭😭
"So, I'll keep the tourniquet on
I'll block it out and off
Cuz I don't need anyone
I don't need anyone
I don't need anyone at all
If I keep the tourniquet on"
I think all of this would lead to Shawn blowing up on then, maybe he'd say something that accidentally gives away more of what happened but I don't think he'll be able to bring himself to actually say out loud what happened, at least not to them
Because, well, emotional constipation, anyone?
He wouldn't talk about his feelings at gun point
"Maybe we always start
Back where we end
Don't know if I'm God
Or if I'm sisyphus"
But maybe change to
"I try to act like God
But I'm just sisyphus"
Or something similar
Now, to get into a SECOND POINT ABOUT THE SAME SONG HAHA!
So, this first part has been about Shawn saying the stuff in the song or just really good lines that he would relate to
But this next part is more of an....application for all of this
Imagine with me, if you will
Shawn does a few artsy stuff like....drawing that he doesn't really like to show off a lot, so imagine this,
/Shawn would totally be a good songwriter/
Imagine he wrote a few songs as more of like journal/vent things and he never wants them to see the light of day
This is while him and Jules are together btw
So, Juliet finds out about the songs, he tries to brush them off bc he doesn't like to think about them and he doesn't want her to see them, that kind of thing, but she reads it as insecurity
This is the same woman who went around Lassies back to plan him a birthday party and accidentally invited a bunch of criminals, so, I don't think it's that big a stretch that she would try to do something to make him feel better about his music and go behind his back a little to do it so she can *surprise* him
She grabs the first complete song she can get her hands on, maybe glances through it but makes the mistake of not reading it thoroughly and submits it to a song writing competition, if it loses, Shawn will never know, if it wins, boom! Boost in his self esteem about his songs!
A win-win plan, really
And the song she grabbed was the Shawn version of Tourniquet we've been talking about, obviously
Yeah, it's *her* turn to do something for *him* with good intentions that ends up being awful, she's not gonna be in the doghouse for this one...she's going straight to the pound
The prize for winning the contest? Well, a celebrity sings it of course!
And...well Juliet may have overlooked that it's sung.....on live television...
All classic song writing prizes, maybe you can win a record deal and a bunch of money too or whatever
Not that Shawn would care about any of that
Anyways, her and Shawn go to the place where they're announcing the winners, you know? Big party. Shawn doesn't know what it's about but he's having fun, probably solving a case here too!
But then he wins....
It's the big finale, announce the winner and sing the song on stage and on camera
"And, this song will be our grand finale! The winning song of the song writing contest will be revealed and sung!" So the singer gets on stage and Shawn is all smiles until he hears "And this song is...🥁🥁🥁 Tourniquet by Shawn Spencer!"
And Shawn is going through all the stages of grief, he turns to Jules all "What the fuck did you do" (Perhaps first time she hears him legit cuss??) [Ty Luka]
And suddenly Juliet realises that she should have read the lyrics a bit closer before submitting it
It's the first time she's seen him ANGRY because he is about to get angry
They get in an argument, Shawn storms off, she feels bad
But, the song was on LIVE TELEVISION
Everyone saw it! Everyone HEARD them attribute it to him!
And they don't know he wasn't in on it! They have no reason to believe he's upset about winning!
So, when he shows up at the station, everyone is trying to talk to him about it!
It's AWFUL
Gus is asking about it, but he stopped pretty quick when he noticed how pissed Shawn seemed about it
Henry's been calling him
He's been not answering, obviously
Juliet tries to talk it out with shawn but he's not having it right now, "Shawn, I-"
"You, shut up, you are in the /pound/!"
"*gasp* the pound?"🥺😢
"THE POUND"
And Lassie was gonna give him a hard time and ask questions but he saw that interaction and realised that he shouldn't touch this with a five foot fucking pole
The precinct feels oddly tense today because well....no one's ever seen SHAWN SPENCER so ANGRY
Or really angry at all
He really powers through solving this case and is actually pretty scary the whole time and he won't talk to Jules, they are not in speaking terms right now
Anything that he would normally go to Jules about, he goes to Carlton and acts like she's not even there while he gets Lassiter to do whatever it is he needs
No fun nicknames either, but what really hits? When he HAS to address jules.....he calls her Detective O'hara
So she REALLY knows she's in trouble
Obviously she's gonna do anything she can to make it better, we know Jules
So she asks around for advice on what she should do
Talks to anyone who will listen really, Lassie, Gus, she even goes to Henry
[Side note, I've been imagining she heard the song, like it was playing all throughout so they could hear it a little muffled from the spot they were arguing at, but she probably missed a good chunk because of the arguing and talking, though her not having heard it would be a really interesting turn to take! She doesn't know what was wrong with the song, only the aftermath, that could be interesting]
Anyway, she gets mostly the same advice, let Shawn cool down and then work it out
But, since she talked to Henry, he now knows that not only did Shawn not submit that song, he's pissed that it played at all
Which will affect the way he treats Shawn when they inevitably talk later
Instead of thinking Shawn did this to get back at him, he knows these were private thoughts that were shared against his will, so he'll be a little less defensive and accusatory
Gus doesn't know what exactly the song was about, but he gets to be the most in the know since he's the only person Shawn is really actually talking to right now
A lot of ranting to Gus about this, of course
Lassie has the least know of the situation because an angry shawn is a startlingly untalkative shawn
Shawn takes a week or two to stop being so completely pissed
He talks to Henry at some point, they probably have a moment or something, but he won't tell anyone what the song was meant to be about
Eventually he calms down enough to let Jules talk to him again and she gets to apologize profusely and work her way off the shit list
And now everyone knows about the depth to shawns character that he didn't want them to know about so he'll just have to slowly chip away at that by going back to being the town idiot as usual
Maybe he agrees to sell his songs as long as his name doesn't go on any of them, I dunno
Everything goes back to normal...eventually, but it takes...a while
So shawn ends it just as emotionally constipated as before but now everyone KNOWS he's emotionally constipated
Everyone gets to go "holy shit, this kid actually has emotional depth?!?!??"
And Henry gets to sit and wonder what he did to Shawn that was a "crash", what phone call? What did he do?
And Yeah, most of them forget probably
But also, there's that inkling of.......is he really okay?
Always in the back of his friends minds
Because
They /heard/ the song
Juliet goes over board trying to make up for it in a way that's so endearing shawn can't help but smile
And forgive her, but only after the third pineapple/hj
Gus is a little concerned but he knows Shawn doesn't want to talk about it so he let's it go
Lassie tries not to pry but he's still feeling kind of awkward about it (what is he supposed to do in this situation? Anything? Should he even care? Should be be on O'Hara's side because they're friends? Shawn's side because he was the one wronged? Anyone's side at all? Should he say something? Welp, he just won't do anything, maybe)
Buzz has no idea what's going on but did try to comfort Shawn a few times and it was sweet
Buzz never knows what's going on with the main four but we love him anyway
Henry has the song on loop trying to figure out what he did and if there's something he should do or say about it
And someone should definitely get Shawn a therapist but they don't
And the whole song is soooooo about his dad
So about his dad it hurts
Tho Gus is a little offended at the "I don't need anyone" part and he makes sure his thoughts on that are known
"I spend every night
With the TV on
I can't bear to be
Alone with my own thoughts"
And now you guys won't be able to stop thinking about this either, MUAHAHAHAHA
To the people who talked to me on discord, thank you!
@mores0 @storm-cloud-lightning
And also @j-snapdragon who joined right at the end

Difficult Days (Part Three)
Part One, Part Two
In hindsight, stealing the neighbors car and driving it out to Lookout Point had been a really, really stupid call.
But kissing Anthony out in the open air, with the stars overhead and the sound of distant waves from the beach, hadn't been.
It had been a near perfect year of walks along the pier, sitting in the backs of movie theaters so they could play footsie in the dark, and study dates --or well, Anthony would study while Shawn would do his best to be distracting as usual.
Sure, maybe he was smart in that holier-than-thou way that Gus never liked, but he was nice. Anthony always corrected Shawn’s mixed up words with a smile that accentuated his dimples and crinkled his warm hazel eyes. He would always laugh at Shawns rebuttal and call him an idiot in that soft spoken voice.
Shawn had never really done this before, a real relationship anyway, so their one year anniversary needed to be special. Perfect even.
And it had been until red and blue lights flashed in the near darkness and the unmistakable two tone note of his dads unmarked station wagon siren ripped through the air.
Shit.
The look of terror on Anthony's face, his eyes wide and his mouth suddenly slack and open as he scrambles away from their perch on the hood of the car to press back against the windshield is something Shawn never wants to see again.
But with his memory it's an inevitability.
“Anthony,” Shawn manages calmly even as his heart rate spikes, “just relax, I don't think he saw--”
“Jesus, yeah Shawn!” Anthony says, his voice just below a yell, “you don't think, I wasn't thinking, I shouldn't have come out here with you, Jesus christ--”
Shawn recoils from Anthony as if slapped and watches as the other teen grimaces into the red and blue flashing lights.
Anthony shakes his head and mutters under his breath as the sound of a car door slamming fills the air, “I should have listened to my mom, she said you're a bad influence”.
Something crumples in Shawn's chest, like brittle tin at the words.
“Since when do you care about that?” Shawn whispers as footsteps crunch just a few paces from them now on the gravel road, “Anthony come on-”
“No you come on Shawn, I'm going to Princeton in September, I'm not going to let you screw this up for me”.
Oh.
“You never,” Shawn swallows hard against the sudden lump that forms in his throat, and ignores the way his stomach drops into his shoes, “you didn't tell me you were moving to New York”.
“New Jersey” Anthony corrects, more softly than he's spoken in the last 30 seconds, since the flashing lights appeared and tore them apart.
“I've heard it both ways,” Shawn mumbles.
Anthony doesn’t laugh this time. His mouth twists as he stares at the ground and Shawn almost wants to plead for Anthony to just smile, laugh, roll his eyes, call him an idiot.
It never really struck Shawn before that Anthony might not have been using that word as a term of endearment.
“Shawn!”
He jumps slightly at the sound of his name, uttered like a curse, and closes his eyes.
“Shawn! Of all the stupid things you've done, this takes the God Damn cake”.
“Dad--” Shawn says but snaps his mouth shut with a click as Henry grabs him roughly by the shirt collar and tugs him off the hood of the car. Shawn stumbles but keeps his feet under him as his dad spins him around to look at him.
“It's Detective Spencer to you,” Henry growls at his son, his blue eyes dart over Shawn's face before he looks over his shoulder and gives Anthony a once over, his expression unreadable.
“And you,” he gestures to Anthony with a free hand, “get off the car. Now”.
Everything after that feels like it happens in slow motion.
Henry radios dispatch to send a black and white to pick up Anthony and take him home and a tow truck for their neighbors car.
Shawn says nothing as his father spends the ten minutes waiting for the other vehicles to come, vacillating between berating Shawn and lecturing Anthony about his choices. He's parked them on a nearby picnic table; Shawn wonders somewhat hysterically if his dad is aware that this was their old family summer haunt.
He runs his fingers lightly over the crude letters carved into the wood, S-P-E-N-C-E-R, but drops his hand away from the table as if burned. The last thing he wants now is his dad to see their name and add destruction of public property to his list of charges.
Anthony says nothing the entire time they wait. He keeps his head down and his arms crossed tightly over his chest.
God. Shawn had been so, so sure of how Anthony had felt, that things had been going well for them, there hadn't been a single doubt in his mind that this was it, that he'd found someone other than Gus he could share everything with.
God. He hates that Gus had been right.
He’d been right to be wary of Anthony, he’d seen something that Shawn hadn’t all those years ago and now…
How had he missed the fact that his boyfriend was apparently planning to up and leave him behind in the next two months.
Had it all been one-sided this entire time? Shawn tries to remember if Anthony had ever even said that he liked Shawn let alone loved him.
When the other patrol car ambles up the gravel road, it barely comes to a stop before Anthony launches away from the table and makes his way to the car.
Anthony doesn't look at Shawn once.
Henry talks to the beat cop briefly, instructing him to just take the teen home, that he’ll handle Shawn.
Great.
Henry claps the top of the crown vic twice with his hand and steps clear as the car takes off. Shawn watches as tail lights turn to red stars in the dark as they head farther down the road before disappearing behind a turn.
Then the tow truck appears. Shawn finds himself tuning out the conversation between his dad and the driver as they hitch up the car.
Shawn can only see Anthony's panicked face shift into a withering glare in his mind again and again. He winces, trying to shake the image, and sits in uncharacteristic silence while the second set of vehicles finally meander down the road, taking the same path as the patrol car.
Shawn swallows hard as his dad steps up beside him and sighs, long and low.
“Do you understand what you did tonight?” Henry says slowly, “how serious this is?”
Shawn stops himself from rolling his eyes but it's a near thing, “is it still considered grand theft auto if we only went a mile?”
Henry laughs once, a sharp puff of air without humor, somehow it's worse than if he would just yell. His dad looks at Shawn for another beat before he finally seems to make a decision. Henry squares his broad shoulders and reaches out to grab Shawn roughly by the shirt once again, dragging him off of the bench and hauling him to his feet with a squawk.
“Shawn Spencer,” Henry says firmly, “you have the right to remain silent, anything you say can be held against you in a court of law--”
“What?!” Shawn says as he nearly stumbles with the force that his dad is moving forward with, one hand on his shirt and the other tightly circled around Shawns upper arm.
“You have the right to an attorney, if you cannot afford an attorney one will be appointed to you,” Henry continues as if Shawn had said nothing. He doesn't look at Shawn as they make their way to the unmarked station wagon.
“Dad--”
Henry lets go of Shawns shirt, leaving the fabric stretched and nearly torn and opens the back car door. With the same free hand he presses firmly on Shawn's head, pushing him into the back seat.
“Do you understand these rights as they have been read to you?” Henry says stiffly standing in front of the open car door.
“What no handcuffs,” Shawn bites out, his chest rises and falls quickly as anger and hurt swirl and thrum against his ribcage, “gee Dad I always knew you were a softy”.
Henry slams the car door without another word before making his way around to the driver's side. The vehicle sags as Henry slides into the driver's seat.
The radio comes to life, the first few notes of Every Breath You Take plays over the sound system only for Henry to slam his hand down on the volume knob before the true irony of the song can be appreciated.
The familiar drive to the station feels so much longer in the heavy silence that hangs in the car. Shawn looks into the rearview mirror every now and again, trying to catch his dads angry gaze but Henry keeps his eyes on the road, his expression stony.
When they finally pull into the station, Henry parks the car and sits for a moment, Shawn watches as his dad takes a deep breath before turning off the engine, he hasn't said a word since reading Shawn his rights, it's unnerving to say the least.
He expects his dad to rail against him the whole way down to the station, to tear another strip off him like he had back at Lookout Point but Henry merely leaves the driver's seat, walks around the vehicle to grab Shawn, and walks him through the double doors of the station.
Henry's hand is loose around Shawns arm, rather than the bruising grip from earlier when his dad hauled him off the car. For a wild moment, Shawn considers making a run for it.
“Listen,” Henry says after a beat, he stops their march to the desk sergeant and pulls Shawn aside into the hall, “if that boy put you up to this, I can get that squad car to turn around--”
“Anthony didn't put me up to anything, don't--he's not--he's going to Princeton next year and he doesn't need m--” Shawn nearly stumbles trying to catch the words before they escape. He swallows hard against the lump in his throat and feels his eyes begin to sting, the threat of tears that has been building since red and blue lights lit up the night makes Shawn wish the floor of the station would open up and swallow him whole.
Henry stares at Shawn now with narrowed eyes, the longer he looks the more it feels like being dissected, assessed.
He realizes his mistake too late to backtrack, not taking the out from his dad he always wished for, the benefit of the doubt was a trap.
Then Henry's eyes land on Shawn's neck, where the collar of his shirt has been stretched, where the beginnings of a small red hickey have started forming.
Shit.
Shawn tries to lift his hand to cover the mark but he's not fast enough to stop his dad from smacking his arm away with one hand while the other opens his shirt collar even more.
Shawn watches a myriad of expressions move across his dads face, before settling on something resembling disappointment. He's not sure how long they stay like that before Henry slowly begins to shake his head.
“Jesus,” Henry breathes out weakly, “first the car and now,” he drops his hands away from Shawn and takes a step back, “as if we don't have enough to worry about, you're--you're carrying on with some boy like a, like a--”
“Like a what, dad, huh?” Shawn says hoarsely, he balls both hands into firsts to hide the way they shake.
While he hadn't been sure what to expect from his dad, despite Gus’ insistence that he should just tell Henry the truth, some small part of Shawn had hoped that his reaction wouldn't sting this much.
His dad says nothing, looking around as though his head is on a swivel, not that he needs to worry. The station is quiet save for a few night shift officers milling around, Shawn can vaguely hear the desk sergeant chatting on the phone about her weekend plans.
“This is going to kill your mother,” Henry says, wiping a heavy hand down his face and taking another step back.
Shawn feels as though the air has been punched from his lungs.
“Dad…” Shawn tries, his voice cracks as Henry turns away sharply.
“Just, go sit, I need to talk to the Sergeant,” Henry mutters before stalking off, the rubber soles of his shoes squeak loudly on the linoleum as he disappears around the corner.
Shawn feels his breathing catch as he all but collapses into the nearest chair against the wall of the hallway, his vision blurs and his face burns. Fuck. Fuck.
Shawn drops his face into his hands and presses his fingers into his eyes until stars explode in his vision. He holds his breath, feeling his chest spasm as he suppresses a sob.
“Hey kid, you okay?” A voice says to Shawn's right, startling him into lifting his face, his hands come away wet so he wipes them quickly on his jeans. God, of course, someone is going to see him like this, at his lowest point.
He wishes Gus were here with him.
Shawn slowly looks up, acutely aware of how his face must look right now given the patient smile on the stranger's face before him.
Shawn gives his face another quick wipe and sniffs, wincing at the congested noise.
“Who me?” Shawn huffs out, his voice tight, “I'm peaches dude”.
The cop, clearly a rookie based on the lack of bags under his eyes, the fresh press of his uniform, and the sheen on his standard issue leather holster. All this effort for the night shift? It screams desperation --notice me Captain!
The rookie's bright blue eyes crinkle at the corners slightly, his expression pinched in sympathy as he takes a step closer.
L-A-S-S-I-T-E-R flashes on his brass name plate.
“Your dad'll cool off, I’m sure he didn't mean it--”
Shawn lets a weak laugh tumble out of his mouth and shakes his head at the floor, “Henry Spencer never said a damn thing in his life he didn't mean”.
He wipes at his face again with the sleeve of his shirt before crossing his arms tightly over his stomach, “so, thanks, stretch but you don't know my dad”.
“Lassiter! What are you doing? Get back to your desk,” Henry's voice carries sharply through the hall. The rookie jumps and takes a step back from Shawn, his back ramrod straight.
Shawn scoffs, if this is how cops were supposed to act, then he's glad he's all but ruined his chances of ever being one.
How could he live with himself if this is what he would eventually become?
This was good, for the best really.
“Run along Lassie,” Shawn says tiredly, "I'm sure there's a boy stuck in a well somewhere that would love your help”.
The rookie's jaw drops as the beginnings of a snarl takes over his expression.
“Lassiter!” Henry barks again, interrupting whatever the rookie had no doubt been about to snap at Shawn as he comes within earshot of the pair of them, there are heavy bags under his dad's eyes, accentuated by the harsh overhead lighting.
Shawn doesn't think he's ever seen Henry this tired before, not even after mom left them.
The rookie looks between Henry and Shawn and opens his mouth before thinking better of whatever he had been about to say.
“Yes sir,” he says tersely instead, turning on his heel and walking briskly back to the bullpen.
“And then there were two,” Shawn mutters under his breath, he keeps his eyes on the floor, refusing to meet his dads glare.
“Okay, Detective Vick is going to escort you for processing, she'll be by shortly. Do. Not. Move.”
Shawn can't even bring himself to nod, he fixes his gaze on the opposite wall and remains silent, his dad can't blame him for invoking his right after all.
Henry sighs and turns on his heel, making his way back down the hallway.
Shawn does his best not to flinch at the sound of the heavy double doors banging shut as his dad leaves the station.

The Oak family make me so mentally ill actually
Like, for starters, the generational trauma that cannot and will not be shaken off:
The very obvious first point is The Doodler. 'The Curse of The Doodler' passed down from generation to generation. Even after Lark and Sparrow release it, the curse still haunts them as the apocalypse they have to bear the blame for. Now Dood is walking amongst them, as a teen protected by the teens, and all Lark and Sparrow can do is look him in the eye (not even really). Lark wants to end this generational trauma by killing Dood but Normal wants to do it but helping it (parallel to what we see happen in s2 ep23 when they sit on the Throne).
The next obvious ones are the veganism (has been an Oaks thing since Hildy's grandmother, if not great-grandmother).
and the 'shoes on' household. Something Henry started due to always being barefoot in Oakvale cause of Barry's Rules. Something that is still instilled with Normal and Hero.
All of the Oaks have a dislike towards their kids/parents. Hildy hated Barry cause he abused her for so long and in the final years of her life he abandoned her in Oakvale and left her to die. Barry and Henry fought constantly, Barry creating more Oakvalians cause Henry would never have been good enough for him. Henry and Lark straight up just do not get along, especially after Henry took the Gauntlets of Ogre Power (which in Lark's eyes caused Walter to get injured and almost caused Sparrow to die), ESPECIALLY after Henry pulled to rogue card. Henry and Sparrow don't talk anymore which is something I will get into later on. Lark and Sparrow weren't even Henry's favourite kids, it was his pet bird Beanie. Honestly, I'm kind of scared to see what Henry and Birdie's relationship is like. Then we have Sparrow and Normal. Sparrow is open about being not being proud of Normal and wishing he was more 'normal'. Finally we have Sparrow and Hero. Sparrow probably isn't that proud or happy with Hero either since she just noped out of being the chosen one. (check out this post)
Another kinda obvious one, the (very strong) family resemblance. They all look so alike, so similar, of course they're going to be the least likely to change and break tradition. (post)
SPARROW AND HENRY NO LONGER TALKING - so many implications. Like, is it because of the shit Lark and Sparrow pulled with Hero? Cause he married a centrist (/j)? Was it because Sparrow (potentially) used the memory syringes on Rebecca to keep their marriage in tact(more in a bit)? Some other reason which we will later find out? Is it why Sparrow can no longer turn into a Love Wolf? Or the final straw as to why he can't?
SPARROW, REBECCA AND THE SYRINGES - So. In s2 ep18 when Normal asks Sparrow if Rebecca knew about all the Doodler stuff, Sparrow says "Your mom doesn't know… about what's going on." ... "that's kind of how we… stayed married." Later, we get to know, from Hero, that Rebecca did in fact know what was happening - that she was involved in what happened to Hero when she was younger, "mom and dad, just sort of looked at me as like, the golden child. They weren't like with me, they were like demanding things of me." So potentially, Lark and/or Sparrow used the syringes on Rebecca cause she threatened their marriage over what happen with Hero. (POST)
Speaking of Hero's childhood - Other than what happened very obviously traumatising her, "they showed me a glimpse of the Doodler for a second and I cried for 3 weeks straight," it also very heavily strained her relationship with Normal: "I feel like things have been choppy between us for a while" ... "It felt like I shouldn't befriend you, cause I knew at some point I'd have to like, sacrifice myself heroically and I didn't want to make you lose me in that way, so I felt like 'I should just keep him at arms length.' " It is suck a stark contrast and parallel to the (toxically) codependent relationship Lark and Sparrow have
HENRY - The fact that Henry is the last of the dads that is alive is so depressing and so expected. He has elf blood and is a high level druid, of course he's still alive. He is (most probably - we don't know the situation with Mercedes and Birdie) alone, all of his closest friends are dead, his sons don't talk to him and because of that he probably hasn't seen his grandchildren in ages either. If something happened to Mercedes and Birdie and Henry is truly alone, there are parallels with Hildy's final years (this post and the tags)

happy friday taylor - here's my prompt
'I think this calls for copious amounts of alcohol.'
southern philanthropy - (i was gonna give you a big sad prompt to go with this but how about something fun and flirty instead lolz)
Better late than never! Read on Ao3 here 🥂
Alex, you home?’
When Alex initially gave Liam a key for the Brownstone, he laughed hautily. What on earth would he need one for? They don't live in the same state, nevermind same city. And yet now here he was in Alex and Henry’s hallway, drenched in rain water with a hastily packed bag. As the door shuts behind him, there's a moment of quiet which makes Liam flinch. He starts to breathe again when David comes rattling across the wooden floor to give him a proper greeting.
‘Good to see you boy. Where are your dads?’
David rolls onto his back as if to answer the question, Liam sighs and stands up straight.
‘Alex? Henry?’ He calls out cautiously. The lounge is empty but he can hear noise from the kitchen, is that someone singing? Liam stays close to the wall and he creeps around the door frame. He knows this place probably has the best security in the state but he can't help the intruder alarm going off in his mind.
‘She wore a raspb- AHHHH!’
Percy screams as he spins around to see Liam appear out of nowhere. He pulls off his headphones and puts down the large bowl he'd been mixing. Liam has his hands in the air as if Percy is some timid cat he doesn't want to scare off.
‘I am so sorry dude! I had a spare key, I didn't know Alex and Henry weren't home, I shoul-’ Liam’s ramble is disrupted by Percy’s laughter, he blinks rapidly unsure of his next move.
‘My dear, you're quite alright. I just got a little shock. I'm Percy, lovely to meet you.’
Percy takes Liam's damp hand and pecks it, Liam can feel a flush filling his cheeks.
‘Liam. Old high school buddy of Alex’s.’
Percy’s eyes screw up a moment, his head nodding up and down as his eyes widen again.
‘You're that Liam, aren't you?’
Liam rolls his eyes, he isn't sure he enjoys being part of the first son's queer lore but it skips some contextual questions at least.
‘The one and only.’
‘So what might a gorgeous little thing like you be doing here?’
Liam winces, and not just because he can feel cold water seeping through his t-shirt down his back. There's arguments echoing through his mind, his eyes sting from all the crying. A hand settles on his shoulder, it's warm and Liam wants to lean into the touch.
‘I broke up with my boyfriend. Just as we were getting ready for vacation. So yeah, bit of a shit show.’
Percy pulls him into a tight hug, practically squeezing the life out of him. His chin fits neatly on Percy’s shoulder, he can smell leather and jasmine and it shouldn't work together but it does. Percy pulls away before Liam is ready for him too, he didn't know how much he needed a hug.
‘Should I call the boys? They took an impromptu weekend break, some law school chum of Alex’s let them borrow a family cabin. I'm the pooch sitter.’
Liam shakes his head. He's biting his lip as they lull into silence, cogs turning as he works out where he can go. Percy put his hands on his hips.
'I think this calls for copious amounts of alcohol. What's your poison?’
Liam’s mouth hangs open, Percy is already clinking bottles as he works through the kitchen cupboard.
‘I can just go find a hotel or something, I really should have called ahead. Kind of dumb of me to be honest.’
‘Hush! Come here.’
Liam walks around the kitchen counter as Percy takes two shot glasses out and uncorks tequila.
‘I’ll buy them another bottle, it can be our little secret til then.’ Percy winks at Liam and he almost collapses. Liam doesn't meet guys like Percy day to day, he doesn't meet them full stop. Liam takes a shot glass and Percy holds his up to toast.
‘To… new beginnings!’

The more I think about it the more I really, really hate that ending for Ted. Most of the episode I loved but Jesus. Ted, to our knowledge, has no active support structures in Kansas. In one foul swoop he loses his best friend, his therapist, his emotional support bros, his gossip pals, and the group of men who have helped inspire him to keep going over the past three years. Yes he gets Henry back and that's wonderful but like. He has no one else? And a kid cannot be an emotional outlet for your baggage.
Michelle can't be his support. Even if they develop feelings for each other romantically again, we've seen she's objectively bad at recognizing when Ted needs support. (I personally dont trust her after the Dr. Jacob shit but to each their own). When his panic attacks were revealed she just figured he was laughing it off with no issue based on one text conversation. She didn't even call. I understand that man is no longer your husband but aren't you still friends? Shouldn't you care about WHY he was having panic attacks?
So yes, Ted goes back to support his kid. And I'm sure he'll do all he can for Henry. He's a good dad. However, I genuinely fear for the state of Ted's mental health now that he's back in Kansas. Your kid cannot be your only friend. It just feels like a more bitter than sweet ending. Because while the show may not have been all about Ted, his story MATTERED. His influence was not the sole story. His personal growth, overcoming his panic attacks and recognizing his limitations better, that was the central story of the show. This ending just feels insufficient.
I'd almost say unfinished but the writers won't even confirm if this is the actual show ending or not.

I'm watching Man of Steel. Here's my thoughts:
I love Ma Kent. She's a queen and deserves the best of the world.
Updates to come because I say so.
(probably)
Baby Clark? Love him
Adult Clark? Love him even more
Lois is a BAMF
Jo-El is a cryptic mf. Kal-El really shouldn't have taken his word for it. He did and I get it, but he should've been at least a bit more hesitant.
I like his monologue, though.
Kal gets his dramatics from his father.
Clark gets his manners from his Ma.
My mom was asking questions and my only explanation was "It's a coming of age story" and my dad agreed with me. Am I wrong? No.
Henry Cavill has the prettiest eyes. Very blue. I love his hair, too. But I love his eyes.
Kryptonians are dramatic ass mother fucks and I will die on that hill.
I keep thinking "OMG, he's Wayne Bait!" And then I remember that Bruce and Kent canonically get mixed up several times. Of course he's Wayne Bait. He's Bruce's kinda look alike.
The priest guy that Clark talks to is pretty cool. I don't normally like priests, but he gives Clark some pretty sound advice.
Again. Lois should've been a lot more hesitant to trust Jo-El.
(I hope I'm spelling his name right)
Lois doesn't get paid nearly enough.
Clark is such a Mama's Boy.
I can't even blame him.
I love Ma Kent.
The US Government having no regards for civilian safety? Why does that not surprise me?
Supes, my dude, my friend, my man, the bestest boi. Properly damage! Smallville doesn't get enough total income to be beaten up like that!
I love Superman, but Batman keeps the property damage to almost zero in comparison. Actually. Bats doesn't break buildings or streets....
There's a random ass cop in Smallville, Kansas that knows that Clark Kent is Superman. But, he's a background character, so it's okay if he knows.
No one will ever believe him, though.
Poor Metropolis.
...at least it wasn't New York this time.
Me, when Zod moves the ship Supes claimed: You can't just move the Fortress of Solitude, asshole!
I maintain that Lois doesn't get paid enough. Also, she's a civilian. The government absolutely needs to pay her for all the shit she did on their watch.
Metropolis will never recover.
"And now I have no people." is such a sad line! Don't make me feel bad for Zod!
"Welcome to the Planet." Smooth, Lois, smooth.

really intrigued by this new stage play delving more into Henry's past and how it will inform/add to what we've already gotten of him in s4, and what we may potentially get in s5, so i kinda just want to ramble lol.
the way i see it, and how we as an audience and how some or all of the characters are meant to view him, is not necessarily that he's the stereotypical "big bad" villain. sure, he's villainous and the overall antagonist, and while he displays extremely monstrous behavior, he's not the "monster" that Eleven envisions.
she has a very black and white view of good vs bad. she's been fighting with this for a while, especially internally and how she views herself. from season 1, she thinks she's "the monster." she opened the initial gate, which made Will go missing, killed countless others, and got all of her new friends in trouble.
in season 2, we kind of started to touch on the idea of what kind of behavior is "good or bad" when she meets Kali. they share an unfathomable bond and love each other dearly through their shared experiences in Hawkins Lab. Kali teaches her how to be stronger, that she shouldn't hide from her powers, she should use them to help herself. and El leans into it, allows herself to be fueled by her rage and sadness. but she hesitates. she wants to strengthen this bond with Kali, her sister, but it feels wrong.
she's killed people, yes, but it's different when it's in self defense in the heat of the moment vs ambushing someone who, while he did hurt them, is currently unawares. plus, there's other innocent children involved. he may have hurt her, but El knows the pain of losing a parent. that's what brought her there in the first place. she can't do that to someone else. her grief hurts, but any relief will be fleeting under the further pain she now causes. she doesn't want to be the monster.
in season 3, this topic is mostly only broached with Billy. Billy is not a good dude. in fact, he sucks major chode and has approximately zero redeeming qualities, and the only reason Max is so torn up about his death is because of survivor's guilt.
but still, in order to beat the Mind Flayer, El has to break through to him, so she finds those happy memories of him with his mom on the beach, and makes him remember that, makes him fight for his mom, rather than the hell he's been through for the last X number of years. he might be a fucking shitty asshole, but he can pull off one valiant deed to save those around him, because he doesn't want to entirely give in to his misery. he wants to remember those happy moments, and wants his mother to be happy, wherever she may be, and that means making sure this monster (the Mind Flayer) is dead.
(plus i guess it's also like a stand-in for his dad. Billy's been abused his whole life, and has become the abuser, and he's sick of all of it. so now, he finally fights back and stands up for his mom like he's always wanted to.)
season 4 is a fucking smorgasbord. they went so heavy-handed with the "good vs evil" "monster vs superhero" shit that it would be hilarious if it weren't totally understandable bc all of these characters are 14 years old and don't have a full grasp on the nuances of the world just yet. again, we get El worrying that she could be the monster, that she'll make everything worse, that she's the one to blame for everything. Mike, Dr. Owens, Will, Brenner, none of them can convince her that, no matter what she did or does, she is their "hero." Owens gets pretty close, he at least gets a few smiles out of her, but she's still uncertain.
she thinks she can no longer be the hero because she lost her powers, that now she's useless, and even if now she's like a "normal kid," she knows she'll never really fit in. but then, when she starts at Nina, she fears that her powers will make her the monster all over again. that she's already done something so monstrous that she won't ever be able to forgive herself.
enter, Henry and the truth. that he killed all of those children. that he was the one behind everything to do with the Upside Down. that he was the reason that Brenner started all of these experiments and built his little "family" in their prison.
so she says Henry's the monster. or rather, Brenner was the monster, and he built Henry into the formidable monster that he then became when he fledged into Vecna. she's now dead-set on blaming it all on those two men, and it all started with Brenner, her Papa. even so, when she's saying goodbye to him, she's receptive to his touch. she leans into his hand, she accepts his affection.
she is so close to getting it. no, Brenner is not a good man, but she did love him at one point, and she still does to some degree. she might say he's the monster, but i think she doesn't really believe that. she just wants to convince herself that it's true so she can find someone to blame, to make it easy, to make it black and white.
and then Henry pushes her closer to the truth! he says that, no, Brenner was not a monster. he was just a man. a mediocre man, who sought power in others. Brenner was just a person.
again, he may have done monstrous things in that lab, but he was not the monster that El wants him to be.
and that leads us to how she views Henry.
where we left off leaves it a bit gray for me. obviously she tries talking him out of all of it, to stop his plan, to leave her friend alone, etc. "you are not the monster, Henry." but he doesn't listen. he likes being the monster. he's good at being the monster. he feels entirely justified in his actions and believes he's helping. and he's so entrenched in his own pain that he doesn't see any need to stop now while he's so close to his goal. Henry even turns it back on El, saying that she was the reason Henry even became Vecna in the first place. so, again, she could be called the "true monster" here for being the major catalyst of it all.
i think if El had the chance in that moment, she would have killed Henry. she was terrified watching him kill one of her best friends, one of her only friends in the whole world. she's killed people to protect her friends before, she isn't going to stop now.
but she couldn't. she had to rely on the teens in the Upside Down to take out his body. and, obviously, that didn't work in the end.
we don't see El talk about it any further, but with all of these prior conversations and experiences, once she's out of the heat of the moment, i think she would not want to kill Henry. just like Kali, the two of them have a bond and their shared experience under Brenner. she sees Henry as a sort of role model, a guardian, an older brother. at least, she did when she became so devoted to helping him, but just like with Brenner, i don't think that's entirely gone away.
she's terrified of him, disgusted by him, horrified at his behavior, but she simply can't see him as the pure "monster" that she wants him to be. she has to start to realize that it will never be possible to group either of them into one category. and she has to learn that that includes herself.
Eleven very easily could have become "Vecna," so to speak. she was just lucky enough to have a support system when she escaped the lab. she found the right kids who would love and support her through it all, the good and the bad, so that even if she does monstrous things, they'll be there for her to help her pick up the pieces and fix it together.
Henry didn't have that. he hid himself away, didn't admit to his family when things were bothering him (or, if he did, they didn't give him the support he needed), and allowed himself to become jaded with anything and everything that inconvenienced him. after all, nobody was helping him fix it, so he has to do it all himself.
he was trapped. just a little kid stuck in an unsavory situation, perhaps aggravated by whatever "shadow" it was that was living in the Creel House and stoking this burning ember inside of him. he was upset, hurt, felt abandoned and lost, and lashed out. it's no different to the times that El killed people in self defense, though perhaps Henry had a smidge more premeditation.
regardless, the core of both of their behaviors is the same: wanting to get out of their cage.
El was just lucky enough to have friends, and Henry was unfortunate to not have any strong, loving bonds like he so craved and needed.
Kali is sort of a middle ground for me at the moment. she is somewhere between El and Henry. she's using her hurt and anger and sadness as fuel, like Henry, but she still finds light and love in the world with her friends and family, like El. she wants to hurt people, like Henry, but she understands that there's only specific people who deserve that hurt, like El.
Henry just wants to throw out the whole baby with the bath. sure, there's specific people he's upset with, but it was the whole world that was set up to make his life harder. he wants to take out everyone because he believes the flaw runs all the way to the roots.
Eleven and Henry are on opposite ends of the spectrum. Henry wants to only see the bad, and El only wants to see the good.
Henry was hurt and then left to wallow in it for his entire life with no one offering out their hand to him. so, if everyone else is going to be "evil," why shouldn't he? he finds power that way, makes himself stronger, so he relies on it to build himself up, to the point that he actively avoids the happy memories of his victims. he can't admit that there might be good in the world, because that would strip him of all of his power. his stance would suddenly have no foundation if he were to acknowledge that there is good and love and light mixed in with all of his grief.
with this play, we'll get a glimpse at the possible happy memories that Henry has. we'll find ammunition for El to use against him, to point at and go "see! you were happy! you can still be happy! you don't have to be the monster! you can choose to get better!" that he has other qualities he can nurture other than his hatred. like Billy, he can find the good in an otherwise shitty situation and hang onto it like a life raft.
i'm not entirely sure what to expect from, nor do i know what i really want out of, the ending of season 5. will they kill Henry? will they reform him? will Henry kill himself? will Henry sacrifice himself? there's many options, and i could have a field day going through the possibilities of all of them.
at the very least, i'm almost entirely convinced that El will not want to kill him. especially with a potential time skip leaving her lots of room off-screen to mull it all over. i think she will be determined to talk him out of it. i even get a kick out of the idea of Max being trapped in his head and rooting around in his memories, playing the Ghost of Christmas Past to dredge up his younger years and go "remember this? you were happy! it's not all bad all the time, here's the evidence!"
when it comes to the other characters, i think a lot of them will still want to kill Henry. he caused all of this, after all. he's actively trying to kill them, destroy Hawkins, and potentially drag the whole world into darkness. they have to kill him, right!?
i do believe that El could potentially convince some of them to not try to kill him. especially Will, but i need to stop myself from going on that tangent or this will turn into a 20 page essay lol.
but even if they do reform him, i don't know if i want an actual "redemption" for him. like, that's not really the right word, i don't think, but i am also stupid, so.
like, i think there's lots of room for El to admit that she has done monstrous things, but her friends still stand by her and work with her to fix anything and everything that she may have caused, deliberately or not, because they love her. and she wants Henry to understand that he is just the same as her, and he is also deserving of understanding and help in fixing anything wrong he may have done, whether deliberately or because he was pushed into it.
but i haven't quite worked out where he would stand if they kept him alive. like, i can imagine two paths for him right now off the top of my head:
they fight and Henry is gravely injured. El tries to convince him and it doesn't work. Henry is petulant and stubborn and stuck in his anger and pain, and he doesn't want to listen to this child, his protégé, talk down to him and try to boss him around. so, he kills himself because, if his plan is going to fail, he'd rather be dead.
El tries to convince him and it does work, but he's in too deep now. the plan is in motion, and the only way to stop it completely is his death. so, he sacrifices himself to close the gates and keep their worlds forever separated, saving the Right Side Up from its horrible fate, but losing his own life in the process.
i hadn't thought of the 2nd option until today, and i'm actually quite fond of it. could you imagine our big villain, the one behind all of the characters' misery and pain and death, actually working on their side to fix the mess he's made?
i can totally see Henry's death being framed as a big tragedy, like Barb or Bob or Eddie, rather than the triumphant "win" it otherwise could have been. their antagonist dies, and it's sad.
and even if it was something like Will landing the final blow and killing Henry, or him killing himself, or even El taking his life, it will all be sad, because El will have learned that Henry was not purely the monster of Vecna that they'd been envisioning. he was an ordinary boy, trying to live an ordinary life, and that was ripped away from him (again, like Will, but again, i have to control myself!!!).
i so badly want El to acknowledge that she could have become our story's "Vecna," and Henry always had the capacity to become like Eleven.
in this story, there is no "monster" and no "superhero." every single person is capable of great good and great evil at the same time, and El and Henry need to meet in the middle on that spectrum. if you aren't already, i think that by the end of season 5, every member of the audience will be sympathetic toward Henry Creel, because everyone will understand that we are all capable of becoming as "bad" as him, and even he is capable of becoming "good."
should Henry be forgiven? probably not. nobody owes him forgiveness. nobody should go "aww he saved the day in the end, he was good all along!" that's not the point. the point is that despite doing bad things, all of these characters are deserving of understanding. you don't have to forgive to understand.
i really am just so interested to see more of Henry's past in an objective manner, rather than through Victor's or Henry's memory. we'll get some real meat to chew on and humanize this man that has been unfairly placed into the cookie-cutter mold of "monster."

September 29th 1919
It was difficult work on the cultivate and since fall is here they must get ready kindling for the winter, Henry and martin were chopping pieces of wood. It was a month before henry's 11th birthday. Henry wiped sweat from his forehead they have been chopping wood for 3 hours and have been collecting kindling and fed the chickens, cows, goats and pigs.covering crops, collected fruits and vegetables, the two picked a bunch of apples together with their sisters. Henry collapsed from fatigue they were bags underneath his eyes and looked tired and his ash blonde hair a mess with strands in hia face, martin shook his head, the fifteen year old pulled up his ten year old brother by the strap of his suspenders " we ought to be collecting wood " martin said as henry gave him a irritated look. " do not you think we collected a sufficient wood?" He asked in his squeaky prepubescent voice making martin chuckle a bit. Irritated, Henry smacked martin on. The back of the head "h-hey!!"
"Look at those poor peasant boys in town!" They heard voices ridiculing them.
Martin and Henry were familiar with those obnoxious tones. Gideon and Francis Turner. The two would constantly be bullied by those two spoiled assholes.
They frequently made fun of the poor and working classes.
Martin's eyes narrowed, he wasn't happy with the direction this was going.
"how are you miserable folks doing? Chopping wood? chop wood when we have begging servants to do it?" The boys mocked them.
" Just fuck off. "Martin snorted. Francis grinned.
Be careful our dad is your fathers boss well get him fired and you will be all derelicts and your father will hate you more oh wait he already dose!"
Gideon laughed as he grabbed Martin by the arm
" Hey, stop!" Martin attempted to flee, but Gideon, who was taller than him, took advantage of the situation. "Fight us, you begger," Gideon yelled as they locked fists. Martin hit him in the face, but Gideon counterpunched, knocking Martin to the ground while grinning, and Francis.
Henry yelled at gideon. " LEAVE HIM ALONE!!"
Francis came over to henry smirking,
Henry grabbed a rock that was imbedded in the grass and dirt he leaped
Onto francis and began hitting him in the head with the stone breaking his nose and causing a large wound on his forehead
had his suit soon was stained by dirt
with spots of blood and a small line of blood came from his nose and lip francis began crying the fourteen year old got up and ran with gideon who had watched the whole thing in shock and terror " thats right run away!!! And stay away from us!!"
then Francis started crying. The fourteen-year-old jumped to his feet and took off after Gideon, who had been watching the entire event in horror and astonishment "you're right, flee! Also, keep away from us!"
then Francis started crying. The fourteen-year-old jumped to his feet and took off after Gideon, who had been watching the entire event in horror and astonishment " thats right, scram! Also, keep away from us!" Martin yelled. When they came inside their mother gasped at the sight of their bruises and cuts.
" oh my!!! What happened my sweet, little boys?"
" We had another fight" Henry said, "those turner boys again!"
Mister Turner, their father's supervisor, would yell at him for hours, possibly while also thwir father belting them.
Henry was smacked in the face by his father as he walked in furiously and yelled, "You fucking nearly made me lose my job, you piece of shit!"
Eugene hissed.
"Quit sobbing! Act like a man, you're a man!" When he noticed Henry's tears, his father yelled.
" eugene stop-"
Eugene interrupted his mother,
" if that fucking mistake  is going to say he's my son he better act like a man and his siblings are useless, you all ruined my life!! I almost lost my goddamn job!!!"
"Eugene enough. "
"I warned you that we shouldn't ever have kids! They are a problem for me! And the fact that you defend them fucking infuriates me!" Henry's dad said, " They were bullied and attacked by the Turner guys! They had been protecting themselves!" Henry's mom yelled in response.
" back to talking to me huh bitch?
After hissing, Eugene gave Gwendolyn a sharp slap.
After that, Henry lost control and yelled "stop!" "Don't hurt her!! "Henry cried as he pushed his father away from his mother. Henry yelled, "henry! Go upstairs with your siblings! "Gwendolyn yelled.
"but!-"
"Its okay honey, i got this!" When his father gave Henry and his siblings a frigid stare, according to Gwendolyn, they went upstairs to hear their parents yelling at each other.
His mother screaming in agony, the glass shattering, and his father slapping gwendolyn while sobbing.
Ida, Henry's older sister, hugged him while Sally, his younger sister, cried in Martin's arms.
Henry shook crying from guilt.
He felt weak and useless, and as an adult, these feelings caused him to develop a hatred for his father because of what he had done to his mother, his siblings, and him.
The end

Infodump ( if u can ^_^ ) about the fitz afto au I AM WAYYYYY to invested in this
OKAY IM GONNA DO THIS SPECIFICALLY ABOUT BEFORE GREGORY SORRY LOL
When Jeremy first saw Mike they thought that Mike was in cosplay lol. They didn't recognise each other at first considering that it had been like 12 years or so sense they'd seen each other. But they did once they got each others names and talked a little about their life.
the events of the au all happen in way more than 5 nights simply because I feel like 5 is just honestly unaturally and impossibly fast lol, its closer to 2 weeks-3 months depending on what game we're talking about, fnaf 1 is like two weeks, fnaf 2 is like a month and a half, fnaf 3 takes like 3 months cus I said so.
Jeremy and Mike end up as room-mates about halfway through fnaf 3 and stay that way through the rest of the games. Mike got evicted because his landlord saw him without any masks or glasses on and was creeped as hell out. Jeremy was the one who had the idea that they could room together, that way it's easier for both of them to pay rent as well as buy things like food; also so Jeremy can pay for collage lol, he's got that starving collage student life woooo. Jeremy helps Mike with his depression and PTSD and mike actually improves quite a lot once he starts rooming with them :]
Mike falls for Jeremy in like 3 weeks and he just excepts it, but he doesn't do anything about it because 'he doesn't deserve it' and doesn't want to put mike in a relationship with a walking dead man. He resigns himself to forever be lovesick lmao.
Around 5 weeks into working with each other Is when Mike opens up about 83 and his dad and baby and what he's doing and such. Jeremy calls him out on his bulshit, cus like, that's not mikes fault. Even a little bit. Jeremy hugs mike and that was probably the first time mike had had a hug in over a decade.
Jeremy falls for mike like a year and a half after they reunited at Fazbear Frights, but it's a whole sudden 'oH SHIT WAIT' moment when they were just chilling on the couch watching a movie or something. Like, Jeremy littarally goes "OOOHHHHHHHHHHHHH" in the middle of the movie and scares the shit out of Mike. Mike asks what's up and Jeremy just flat out tells him on the spot lmao. He didn't mean to though lol he was just so caught in the moment he had absoloutly no filter. He was really worried because Mike started crying and Jeremy thought he was taking it wrong or something. They both clear it up and all goes smoothly.
They only kissed once before Mike got his new robo body because like, Mike's a corpse, they're generally logical people. And it was after Mike told Jeremy that he'd never kissed anyone before and Jeremy wasn't having that.
Jeremy really shouldn't have done that though lol he regretted it, not cus he didn't want to kiss mike its just, ya know, Mike's a corpse. Jeremy threw up afterwords cus like man that has not gotta be great tasting lol. Mike was extreeeemly flustered and felt terrible and Jeremy wouldn't let him apologize.
Like four months after the events of Pizzeria Sim Mike proposes to Jeremy, but it's not anything crazy. They're just sitting there eating dinner or talking at their apartment, taking time to relax after all the events they'd gone through and decompressing and mulling over the traumas and life experiences they'd shared, and Mike just asks Jeremy if they want to marry him. Jeremy says yes. They get very simple silver bands and have a very small wedding, Littarally just them and Henry as their Officiant.
I've thought about them a lot they live in my head rent free. :')

Aurorra
Pairing: Dad!Henry Cavill x Single Mom!Reader
Summary: Henry meets his daughter for the first time.
Warnings: fluff, slight angst. Dad!Henry
A/N: I don't know why I'm a sucker for these types of stories but I am. Hope you enjoy!
Tumblr media
It's been two years and two days exactly since you and Henry had broken up.
It had been one year, one month, and two weeks exactly since you had given birth to his daughter, the daughter he had no idea existed.
It hadn't been a particularly nasty break up or anything, but both of you were hurting. You both wanted the relationship to work out, and when it didn't, you were both too heartbroken to even remain friends.
You had moved away from London not long after the breakup, deciding to live in Manchester, which was closer to your family. When you found out you were pregnant, you had tried to call him, but he had blocked your number. You had no way of contacting him other than through instagram, but he had unfollowed you and you knew your message would get lost in the thousands he received a day if you tried that.
You had no way of contacting his family either. You didn't know what to do. You had told your family, and they were insanely happy for you, even though you were going to be a single mother. When your mom had sat down and told you her and your father would do anything to help and support you through whatever decision you made, you knew the answer.
You were going to be a single mother.
When your daughter Aurorra Enola Cavill was born nine months later, you knew you made the right choice. Being a single mother may not have been what you were planning in life, but holding your blue eyed and brown curly haired baby in your arms for the first time, you knew it was what you were meant to do.
Aurorra had become your little bestie. She was such a well behaved baby. She rarely cried, slept through the night not long after she turned a week old, and was always full of smiles that were clearly from her father. There was never any doubt in your mind that she was Henry's, and every time you looked at her and saw her blue eyes, brown hair, and her cuddly chunky body, it only solidified that fact.
Tumblr media
Aurorra had just turned 13 months old, and your job transferred you back to London, so you and Aurorra had just made the big move back.
You had opted to move back to the same neighbourhood both because of the safety of it, and because you knew you'd have a good chance of running into Henry. You had thought about it for months on end, and knew he couldn't be kept in the dark any more.
Tumblr media
You had just finished unpacking the last box in the bedroom, when Aurorra woke up from her afternoon nap. You changed her and the two of you headed out to ASDA to get some groceries.
You pulled in the driveway and saw car that looked similar to Henry's BMW, but you didn't think anything of it. You parked and got a less than happy Aurorra out of her carseat and strapped her into the cart before heading on your shopping journey.
You had made it through the fruits and vegetables, and was heading to the freezer section to grab frozen fruit for the growing 13 month old, when you saw a familiar back in the same aisle.
It was Henry. There was no doubt about that. He was wearing a white knitted cardigan, with faded blue jeans, and running shoes. From the top of his cardigan you saw a dark blue t shirt poking out. His hair was slightly messy, but still curly. He was reading the nutrition information on the back of a frozen energy bowl, and you quietly opened the fridge, hoping to grab what you needed from this aisle and escape without him noticing you.
You had gone over seeing him again a million times in your head, and in no way did you plan on it being in the grocery store with other people around.
But, 13 month olds have a mind of their own. At that moment, Aurorra saw a popsicle package with the characters from her favourite show, Miraculous Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir, and proceeded to squeal and call your attention.
"Mama!" She squealed and pointed a chunky hand at the popsicles. "Bug!" You glanced up and Henry and watched as he did a double take back at you. His eye brow furrowed, but you ignored him, instead turning to your baby.
"Yes, that is Ladybug. Would you like them?" You asked, and she nodded eagerly. You smiled and grabbed them out of the freezer once you noticed they were organic. "Say thank you," You prompted, and she brought the same chunky hand up to her chin and then down flat towards you. It wasn't the most perfect sign, but she was still learning.
You saw Henry walk up to you and had to steel yourself for the coming conversation. "Y/N?" He asked, and you turned around to face him.
"Hi, Henry." You said, placing the popsicles in the cart with the rest of your groceries. He smiled at you, and then glanced at Aurorra. She smiled and cooed at him and he smiled back, and stroked her cheek. "Hows everything," you asked, trying to avoid the question you knew was about to come.
"Everything's good. Kal misses you. Still sleeps with the teddy you got him," He said, his eyes locked on your daughter. You smiled.
"Well, tell him I miss him too. Now, if you'll excuse me, we're running a little late. I have to get home and get her fed." You said, but before you could move the cart Henry asked you the question.
"I-is she mine?" He asked, and you nodded, trying to swallow the lump that had been forming in your throat, to no avail.
"Y-Yes." You stuttered, and seconds later, Henry's arms enveloped you. "I-Im sorry," You whimpered, and Henry shushed you.
"Its okay. Let's not talk about it here. How about I meet you at your place once were both done?" He suggested, and you agreed, before giving him your address.
"Okay. I'll see you there." he said, giving you another hug, and pressing a kiss to the top of Aurorra's hand that had curled around his pointer finger. He stroked her cheek once more, before giving you both a smile, and heading off. He grabbed his cart with groceries, and made his way towards the checkout.
Tumblr media
By the time you had finished shopping and made it home, Henry was parked in the driveway. You took a deep breath, and got out, giving him a smile. He returned it, and got out of his car before walking over to help you.
He grabbed the groceries, leaving you to grab Aurorra, who squealed at the sight of Henry. Henry chuckled, and blew her a kiss. He followed the two of you inside. You set Aurorra down, who stumbled on her own feet before stabilizing, her empty bottle in the right hand.
"Go put your baba in the kitchen please," You said, and she babbled to herself as she walked off, ignoring you and Henry.
"She's absolutely adorable," Henry said, and you smiled. "Well, she is your daughter," You said. Henry threw his head back and laughed before following you into the kitchen.
You set the bags down on the ground and turned to put away the ones Henry set on the counter. You two made small talk while putting away the groceries, mainly about work. You heard ruffling behind you but didn't think anything of it, as Aurorra usually liked to help put away the soup cans.
"Mama?" You heard a little voice ask and you turned around to face Aurorra. She was holding the box of popsicles out to you in one hand, while her other hand made a clockwise motion on her chest, signing please.
You smiled and took the box from her.
"After dinner, okay?" You said, and she didn't like that very much. She plopped on her butt and began to cry.
Her arms reached up to where the popsicles were and sobbed her little heart out. Henry's heart melted and scooped her up. "It's okay baby girl," He said, bouncing her. She sniffled, but calmed down and laid her head on his shoulder. He smiled in happiness, and pressed a kiss to her curly head.
He turned to you. "I just realized, I don't know her name," he said, and you smacked your head.
"Shit sorry, I completely forgot to mention that. Her names Aurorra Enola Cavill. I made sure she got your last name, and that you're on the birth certificate." You said, running your hands through her curly hair.
"Enola? Like Enola Holmes?" He asked, as Aurorra cuddled closer, her chunky arms wrapping around his neck. You nodded.
"Yeah. I couldn't think of a middle name for her, and I was watching Enola Holmes just before she was born. It was the scene where Sherlock and Mycroft see Enola on the train platform and you say her name. I knew then it was perfect." You said, and Henry smiled.
"It's a beautiful name," he said, wrapping his free arm around you. The three of you stood there for a few minutes, before Aurorra shook her hands at you, and tried to wiggle out of Henry's arms.
"Ah dun, Mama." She said. Henry pressed a kiss to her chunky cheek, and let her onto the floor. She scurried away seconds later, towards her bedroom.
"Is she okay wandering by herself?" He asked, watching her little body fall to her hands and knees, but get up and brush it off before continuing on her mission.
"Yeah she'll be fine. She's just going to play." You said, and Henry nodded before pulling you into his arms fully.
"I really am sorry I didn't tell you about her. I couldn't contact you or anyone in your family, and I didn't have the energy during my pregnancy or after to make the journey to London. I promise I didn't plan on hiding her forever." You said, and Henry squeezed you even tighter.
"It's okay. I know you'd never do something like that on purpose. You've done an amazing job raising her. I just wish I had witnessed it."
"You'll get to see her grow. You might have missed her start life, but I have everything recorded. Her first breath, her first steps, her first words, all of it. I know it's not the sam-" You said, but were cut off by his lips.
His hand travelled up to cup your face, before he pulled away. "Sorry. I shouldn't have done that. I just- You amaze me, you know that?" He said and you giggled.
"How so?" You questioned.
He rested his forehead on yours before continuing. "You thought to record everything. You made sure she has my last name and that I'm on the birth certificate. You didn't have to do that, but you did. I've missed you so much, and I didn't know just how much until I saw you in ASDA. I never should have left. I never should have blocked you." He said, a tear falling from his blue eyes. "I'm so sorry you had to go through all of that alone. Thats never what I wanted. But, I promise to be the best dad to her, whether we're together or not."
"I know you will be," You said, and pulled Henry in for another kiss.
Tumblr media
The groceries were put away a few minutes later and you told Henry to go and play with Aurorra while you cooked, which he happily did.
He walked down the hallway to her bedroom, and smiled lovingly when he saw his daughter sitting on the ground playing with blocks, a stuffed Akita just like Kal secure under her arm. She was babbling to a Mickey Mouse toy that sat in the corner of the room, and was stacking blocks.
Henry began to walk in the room when she stopped babbling let out a sneeze and a sigh. He grabbed a Kleenex from the change table and sat down next to her.
"Hey sweetheart, can I wipe your nose?" Henry asked, seeing the snot coming from her nose due to the sneeze. She looked up at him and giggled, which Henry took as a yes, and he wiped her nose quickly before disposing of it in the garbage can.
She began babbling again, and pushed the Akita stuffy into his hands. "Goggy," She said, and clapped, which made Henry smile.
"It is a doggy. I have a doggy like your stuffy, wanna see?" He asked, and she nodded and clapped.
Henry pulled out his phone and pulled up a picture of Kal. Aurorra stood up and clambered into his lap, which Henry welcomed. When she saw the picture of Kal, she started bouncing and clapping again.
"Goggy! Goggy wun!" She exclaimed when he showed her a video of him running.
"Thats right, he is running. He's really good at it too, believe me." Henry said and put his phone away. Aurorra stood up and reached out her arm for him, opening and closing her fist. Henry stood up, and let her take his big hand in her tiny one, and lead him out of the room, and towards the back door that led to the backyard, babbling the entire way.
"Hold on, honey, we gotta tell Mama we're going outside, okay?" He said and she nodded before running to the kitchen shouting Mama.
Henry watched as she stood in the doorway and babbled before pointing at the door. She held her hand in front of her face and moved it out, closing it into a fist.
"You're going outside?" You asked, and she nodded. Henry saw you bend down and whisper something into her ear with a smile on your face and Aurorra giggle but didn't think much of it, before his little girl was running towards him and squealing.
He scooped her up and carried her out the door. She pointed at the toy box in the corner of the yard and Henry carried her over. He sat her down and opened it, before letting her pick what she wanted to play with. She grabbed a bucket with shovels and molds before running over to the lady bug sandbox and patting the lid. Henry chuckled and pulled the lid off.
"You wanna play in the sand?" He asked, and she nodded before climbing in.
Henry sat down next to her, and a shovel was thrust into his hand seconds later. She had a bright yellow one in her own hand and was digging a hole. Henry followed suit and helped her dig the hole.
A few minutes later she handed Henry a elephant mold.
"Put, Dada." She said, and Henry's breath caught in his throat, the mold falling from his hand.
"Did you say Dada?" He asked her, tears clouding his vision, and he saw her smile and point at the house.
"Mama, say." she said, picking up the elephant mold again.
"Mama told you I'm your Dada?"
She nodded and shook the mold in his face, practically begging him to take it. Henry smiled and pulled her out of the sand box, into his arms.
"I am your Dada, and I promise you I will love you forever." He said, and kissed her cheeks. She giggled before pointing at the sand box and doing grabby hands. Henry chuckled but put her back where she was. He picked up the mold and began to fill it with sand before she got upset.
"I apologize for interrupting your playtime," He said. "Now, lets make some animals."
Tumblr media
Later that night, when Aurorra had been fed and put to bed, Henry pressed another kiss to your lips.
"She called me Dada when we were playing outside." He confessed and your eyes lit up.
"Really? I told her before she went out with you that you were her Dada, I wasn't expecting her to say it so soon!" You exclaimed. Henry chuckled, and pulled you into his lap.
"I'm so happy she did. Thank you for giving me her." He said, pressing his lips to yours before you could respond.

Stranger things spoilers below:
This season sucked BALLS. I shouldn't be but yet I am still amazed at how the Duffer Balls manage to have literal gold in their hands and chose to shit on it. Eddie's death was lazy writing. It was poor and just a quick and cheap way to wash away the whole 'Satanic Cult' bullshit. Also what is it with leaving his fucking CORPSE in the Upside Down for christ's sake. You couldn't even bring his fucking corpse back?? Nah fuck that. Disrespect to Eddie and a waste of a fucking brilliant actor like Joseph Quinn. And if that didn't make me angry enough, let me proceed with the rest of the mountains of bullshit. 1. This constant flip flop between Stancy and Jancy. Honest to fucking god I hate love triangles enough as a trope itself but for god's fucking sake this is basically taking a SEMI TRUCK INTO STEVE AND NANCY'S GODDAMN DEVELOPMENT. Steve's whole shit was learning to move from Nancy and Nancy finding a better connection with Jonathan. Oh, and Jonathan was treated like SHIT by the Duffers this season. Him being a stoner makes no fucking sense it was pulled out of goddamn fucking nowhere. 2. Whatever they were trying to pull with Will's sexuality flopped harder than Chrissy's corpse on the floor of the Munson's trailer. Like I don't even like Byler but A. it was vague as shit and B. They really used him just to push the Mileven agenda. Good job on completely fucking up Duffers. Brilliant
3. THE WHOLE FUCKING BULLSHIT WITH DEMONISING BILLY FOR THE 483TH TIME GOD'S SAKE. My man is dead. He has been fucking skewered like a fucking kebab and never got to live his fucking life and better himself and get away from his shit garbage father. I accepted that at the end that he's not coming back, but by god the Duffers can't just let my man die in fucking peace. No, instead they have to drag him through the goddamn mud again with Max's bullshit speech that I hate with all my might. That he 'didn't deserve to be saved'. Nice message there, telling people who have been in Billy's shoes that because they have been abused and mistreated and lash out because VICTIM'S AREN'T FUCKING PERFECT THEY ARE PEOPLE WHO HAVE GONE THROUGH SHIT NO PERSON SHOULD EVER GO THROUGH, may or may not deserve a change for a better life. Billy SACRIFICED HIMSELF and became a fucking MARTYR over a memory of when he was happy and the smallest show of tenderness and caring from a child he DOESN'T EVEN KNOW that made him overpower a GODDAMN MIND CONTROLLING ELDRITCH ABOMINATION MONSTER AND SAVE EVERYONE. And the thanks he gets is the Duffers pissing on his grave. I will forever be fucking pissed at this writing and the Duffers should NEVER try write a character in an abusive situation again because by GOD they did it POORLY.
4. The sympathy bullshit for Brenner and Henry/Vecna/One. So you are telling me they made Brenner sympathetic with this "I oNlY wAnTeD tO hElP yOu" bullshit, and did this whole melancholy music scene. No fuck that. This man stole CHILDREN from their mothers and fried Terry Ives' brains to the point she can't have a normal fucking life and is stuck in a vegetable state for the rest of her life. He also abused these fucking kids and tortured them. FUCK HIM. And sympathy because of Henry/Vecna/One because of what Brenner did? saying he's not a monster? After he fucking killed INNOCENT KIDS and his own goddamn family? Getting his dad thrown into a mental asylum for a crime he didn't commit? Basically having an ideology that would involve fucking murdering all of humanity? And we had glimpses of sympathy through Eleven telling him he didn't need to do this? FUCK THAT TOO.
The ONLY redeeming things in this hellfire garbage shit show was
Lucas beating Jason
Jopper and the Russia stuff
Mike's speech to Eleven because I'm a sucker for Mileven
The smallest fizzle of hope that Robin might get a romantic interest
This season was executed poorly. It was so bad it made me miss the dumpster fire of Season 3. That's how bad it was. And I have no hope for Season 5, the only reason I'll watch it because I hate not knowing how a story ends, even if in the end it sucks ass and I'm left forever disappointed at how what once was a good story with a good plot and characters I adored and cared for became a complete fucking mess of fanservice, 80s pop culture references, lazy writing, and shitty horror for the sake of 'edge' and 'shock'.
I said it once and I'll say it again: Stanger Things should have ended in Season fucking TWO.

Henry Cavill Master List
Sitting in the backseat of the car, Ivan huffed. Arms across his chest, Kal laying quietly beside him, his head on the boy's lap. He was not amused by his parent's Saturday excursion. In the front seat, Nell checked her phone, looking at emails and appointments for the upcoming week. Henry had his eyes on the road, navigating through the small city with expert care and attention.
Saturdays spent as a family were supposed to be fun. Ivan wasn't exactly having fun. Grumpy all morning, he hadn't turned his scowl upside down once. Whatever. His parents didn't seem to notice or care that he was in a pissy mood. Why should they?
When they'd left home, Henry had mentioned going to the next town over, but didn't really say why. Nell had been too worried looking for paperwork. Ivan wasn't stupid, he'd heard them in the office last night. They thought he had gone to bed, which he had, but they didn't know their son had gone back down stairs for a drink. Walking by the door, he'd stopped, originally to say “good night”, again but decided to hold out.
Ivan laid his head back on the seat, Kal nestling in for the remainder of the ride. How could his parents do this to him? The bits of conversation had replayed in his mind all night.
"But if we adopt, then we know it's a girl." Sighing, Nell rubbed her eyes. "I am outnumbered."
"Yes, but what if we can't find the right girl?"
Ivan furrowed his brow, listening through the cracked door. His parents were clearly discussing something that would be a huge part of their family, yet chose to leave him out?
Standing quietly for a few seconds, trying to peep around the office door, he saw Kal sprawled out on the floor. Sleeping soundly. At least his position wasn't going to be given away.
"And we will need to take him. I don't want to bring him home a sister, to find out he's pissed off." Henry continued.
Gee, thanks dad. Ivan rolled his eyes, tears stinging.
Inside of the office his mother's chair scraped the floor. Time to move along. Quietly rushing to get upstairs, before he was caught.
They were adopting and didn't even bother to ask how he felt? What if he didn't want a sibling? What if he was content being an only child? Nobody had bothered to ask him and it hurt.
“Almost there,” Henry announced. Ivan huffed, Nell hummed, and Kal sighed. “Not the response that I was expecting, but okay.”
“I'm excited, I'm busy is all.” Nell glanced at her husband with a warm smile. “Someone has to keep you in costume and Ivan on track.”
“Whatever.” Ivan muttered, rolling his eyes. So now they pretend to care.
“When we're finished, do you want to go for a walk and grab something to eat?”
Leaning around in her seat to see Ivan; Nell smiled. “What do you think wild boy? Should we grab something to eat after? I hear they have a great sushi place just around the corner.”
“Whatever.”
“Is that all you can say today?” Nell raised her brow.
Ivan shrugged.
“Well, then. I guess you don't have an opinion, then we will go wherever we see fit.”
“Why ask me where I want to eat, you didn't care to ask me if I even wanted to come.”
“We thought that you'd enjoy an afternoon out.” Henry answered, checking that he was clear to make the right hand turn. Pulling into an empty space, he killed the engine. “We're here.”
“I'm excited.”
“I'm not.” Grumbled Ivan in reply to his mother's enthusiasm.
Leaning over, Henry was the one turned to face his sullen son. “Okay, before we go in. Care to tell me what's going on?”
In the back seat, Ivan tried his best not to allow his tears to fall. If they began then they may never stop. Dramatic? A little. He couldn't hold it in any longer, his parents had truly hurt his feelings and trust. Why had they not trusted him to tell him the truth? If he hadn't heard them talking, would they have simply brought another child home and told him to deal with it?
Sniffling, he wiped his hand across his cheeks. How silly did he look?
“Ivan?” Henry prompted, gently reaching out to his son.
Shrinking away, Ivan continued to sniffle. Shaking his head, Ivan opened his mouth to answer, but only a sob came.
“Are you okay? Ivan, you can talk to us.” Encouraging her son, despite her heart clenching, Nell tried to smile.
He had been out of sorts all morning. Taking it as he was annoyed to be woken so early, Nell had ignored his bad mood. She'd figured it would change, when they arrived to meet the puppy. On the seat beside him, Kal laid with his head still on Ivan. Nudging him gently with his nose.
“You didn't even ask me, how-how I felt.” Ivan whispered.
“Felt? About what? Are you not feeling well?” Concern etched Henry's face.
Ivan shook his head. “About adopting. Why? Why would you do that and not talk to me? A sister is a pretty big thing and you didn't even ask, if I wanted one.”
In a second, Henry could nearly feel his heart breaking for his son. Clearing his throat, he rubbed the back of his neck. Nell sprang into mom mode. Taking over, giving Ivan a soft smile and passing back a tissue from her bag,
“Oh, wild boy.” Cooing, Nell shook her head. “No, I think you have it wrong.”
“Do I? Oh really?”
“Yeah, we're um...we wanted to keep it a secret, in case Kal didn't get along with her. But then we were so excited, we had to bring you. Ivan, we're here to see about adopting another dog.”
“A dog?” Ivan sat up his interest fully engaged. Henry laughed and nodded. His mood changing faster than a speeding bullet. “A dog? We're getting another dog?”
“Maybe.” It was only fair that Henry laid down the rules now. “If she and Kal get along, then we will take her home. For a week. If they manage well, then she is ours. If they don't, then we have to bring her back. We didn't want to tell you, because we wanted to surprise you.”
“You better like her.” Ivan gently booped Kal's nose. Kal snuffled and yawned.
“I wish you had told us, how you felt. Oh god, I'm sorry.”
Last night, while in the office, Nell had heard a creak outside the door. Assuming it was another feature of the older home, she had ignored it, continuing her conversation with Henry. Shit. Now she felt terrible. How Ivan must have felt, beyond her comprehension. No wonder the poor boy had been in a rotten mood. Assuming his parent were making life decisions and not bothering to inform him.
“It's okay mum.” Ivan shrugged, “I shouldn't have assumed.”
“Wild boy, we would never adopt another child, without talking to you. Honestly.” Nell informed her son, her caring smile growing.
“Unless something changes, drastically, we will never have that conversation. So I think you are safe.”
“But I thought you wanted more kids?” Eyeing his father cautiously, Ivan wiped his nose on the tissue and snuffled once more. His tears dried on his cheeks.
Henry shrugged, glancing at Nell and smiling. “Once upon a time, I would have loved to have a dozen kids. But, I think that time has gone. You're older now and I know that you enjoy being an only child. Besides, your mum and I don't have that energy anymore. Chasing small children, it's too much work.”
“Well, now that we have this cleared up. Shall we go meet the potential, puppy?”
“Yes, please.” Ivan sprung up, grabbing Kal's leash to get the big dog out of the car. Opening the car door, he shuffled out to join his parents, promptly handing Kal to Henry.
A shift in his mood, Ivan could barely contain his excitement, asking his parents all kinds of questions. The short distance from the car to the shelter didn't give them much time to answer, but Nell did her best to fill in any information that Ivan was requesting. They had found the puppy on the website, not really looking for another dog.
Her name was Tilly, she was almost a year old, an energetic doxie pinscher mix. Her mother rescued a few weeks before Tilly and her two brothers were born. Ivan didn't even have to see her, to know she would be the best dog – best small dog – ever. Clearly Kal was the best dog ever. Henry allowed Kal a few minutes outside, while Nell and Ivan went inside to inform the staff that they had arrived.
“Mum,” Ivan whispered standing beside her, in the lobby, waiting for the assistant to join them, “I'm sorry.”
“It's okay, wild boy. You have nothing to be sorry for, but the next time come talk to me. I don't like it when you are upset.” Nell wrapped her arm around him, kissing the top of his head.
“Mrs. Cavill?” A tall woman asked walking into the room. Nell nodded and smiled. “Hi, I'm Aly. I'll be hanging out with you today.” She glanced at Ivan and smiled. Carefully looking passed Nell, she shifted. “You mentioned bringing your dog?”
“Yes, he's outside with my husband. It was a bit of a drive up. Can you go let your dad know that he needs to come in?” Nell ruffled Ivan's hair.
Nodding, Ivan did his best to control his excitement, reminding himself to walk towards the door. Calmly, he took a breath. Spotting Henry and Kal on the small patch of grass, he waved opening the door to call his dad. Excitement, contain. Breathe. Ivan straightened his posture before walking back across the office to his mother.
“He's coming.”
“Do you want to follow me in, when he comes in then I can have them sent back?
“Sure, sounds good.” Following Aly behind a set of doors, Nell and Ivan walked hand in hand. It was not at all what Ivan imagined. There were no rows of barking dogs, instead it was a calm and quiet group of rooms. Each one with large windows and a door. Inside the floors had patches of fake grass, tile flooring, and a few toys.
“The last time that you were here, I know that you and your husband had met Tilly and Anduin.” Holding open a door to one of the rooms, Aly addressed Nell. Ivan raised his brow. So his parents had been here before? “Did you want to bring them both out?”
Slightly blushing, Nell gave the assistant a sheepish smile. “I'm not going to lie, I really adored Tilly. I agreed to bring Anduin out, to humour my husband.”
Ivan giggled. Of course his dad would have wanted to meet Anduin.
“Ah, I understand. Okay, well I am going to get Tilly. You can make yourselves comfortable.”
Ivan sat in one of the plastic office chairs, swinging his legs lightly, his feet not that far from the floor. Nell stood in the corner by the floor to ceiling window, watching for Henry and Kal. Humming contently, Ivan tried to picture what this new dog would look like. She would certainly be smaller than Kal, not even the size of Kal's leg. He giggled at the idea of the little dog bossing the old bear around.
Would Tilly like them?
“What's Anduin like?”
“Huh?” Nell turned her head to look at Ivan, she had been lost in her thoughts of upcoming projects and school sport schedules.
“Anduin, you said that you only saw him because Dad wanted to.”
“Oh, he's a nice dog. But he's big and bouncy, he's still young and they said he had a bit of an aggression problem to work through. I'm sure he'll make someone a great dog, but he's not what we need. Not right now.”
Ivan nodded in understanding. As much as they loved Kal, one big dog was enough. He sat looking around the room, when he and his mom spotted Aly at the same time. Taking a step back from her post, Nell held out an arm to Ivan, indicating she wanted him to join her.
Entering the room, Aly had a small dog in her arms. Licking her face furiously, the dog wagged her tail, excitedly enjoying the interaction.
“Here is Tilly,” bending to sit the puppy on the floor, Aly smiled at Ivan. “Why don't you take a seat and get to know her?”
“Mum, momma, mum.” Ivan tugged on Nell's sleeve. “This is the best surprise.”
“I'm glad you're excited.” Nell kissed the top of his head. “Do you want to play with her? Get to know her a little, before Kal comes in?”
On the other side of the windows, Nell caught sight of Henry and Kal approaching. Kal looked around cautiously, following Henry into the small corridor. Nodding to his wife and giving a slight wave, Henry smiled. He would wait right where he was, until asked to bring Kal in. Kal sat at Henry's side, watching through the window, a slight whine when he saw little Henry playing with the ultra small dog.
Sitting down on the floor, allowing the small brown dog to climb on him, Ivan giggled. Her whole body shook with her tail wag, as she bounced on and off of the boy's lap. Aly smiled, watching the two interact.
“They certainly get on well.”
“Ivan loves dogs.”
When Henry and Nell had come to see the dogs, it had been Henry on the floor giggling like a child, while the puppy had climbed all over him. Nell had joined in, sitting and tossing the ball for both Tilly and Anduin. But Ivan was by far the one in his true element.
“Let's see how Kal does, shall we?”
“Of course.” Nell waved for Henry to bring Kal in.
Opening the door, Henry gave a gentle tug on Kal's leash. The big, black and white dog was hesitant to enter the room with the smaller creature. She was full of the zoomies and her bark was fierce.
“Kal.” Henry called to his companion. “Come on. It's fine.”
Reluctant, Kal shuffled into the room, snuffling and snorting. Making sure to keep Henry, Nell, Ivan, and the strange woman between him and the small fur missile. The small brown dog darted around Nell, between Henry's legs and right up to Kal. Pulling back on his leash, Kal was wide eyed. No! No way! She was growing closer.
Without warning Tilly stopped a few inches from Kal, reaching out she sniffed his foot and took off. Too concerned with her return, Kal was having a hard time relaxing. His fear was soon soothed, when Nell reached down to offer him a biscuit. Oh so now they were buying him off with food? Eh, fair enough.
“Why don't you pick her up, then she's not as bouncy.” Aly smiled at Ivan.
Scooping the puppy into his arms, Ivan smiled when she began to instantly lick his face. “Tilly.” He giggled, holding her out to his dad.
“Come here, sweetheart.” Henry accepted the puppy. She was tiny compared to Kal, even as a baby. Henry smiled holding the wiggly body, trying to control her enough to let Kal get a proper look. “Look Kal, see the baby.”
Kal huffed, sinking down to the floor. His head resting on his paws. How dare they.
“Have a look, bear.” Henry encouraged the older dog. Bending down with the puppy, he laughed when she licked his chin, giving playful bites. “She's okay. Easy fella.” He steadied Kal, who had lifted his head a little. Sniffing towards the puppy, he sat up. His head tilted slightly. Henry eased Tilly closer.
Reaching out, she yipped in Kal's face, but didn't shy when his big nose poked her in the belly. Licking at Kal, she wagged her tail fiercely.
“I know that you love being the only dog, but would a friend be terrible? She's a friend. Not a chew toy.” Nell eyed Kal.
Huffing, Kal sniffed the puppy once more, before scooting back as Henry let her go on the floor. Instantly zooming around the room, Tilly bumped into Kal. Reacting less dramatically, Kal groaned and flopped down onto the floor. His eyes following the puppy, his desire to chase the small creature almost void. He was too old for this shit.
“I think we should take her home, what do you think?” Henry glanced at Ivan.
“Yes, please.” Ivan nodded eagerly. “What about you, Kal? Do you want a sister?”
Kal huffed. He didn't care one way or another.
“I think we will definitely be taking her.” Nell smiled. Stooping to scoop up the puppy, she scratched Tilly's ears and smiled wide.
“Your mum has a new mate,” Henry nudged Ivan in he side, gesturing to Nell snuggling the puppy.
“Maybe this means she won't bother me so much to do things.” Ivan snickered.
“Don't bet on it,” Nell smirked, she'd heard their chat. When would they learn, she heard everything.
Settling the final paperwork, gathering instructions, and all the legal work that went with adopting dog had taken mere minutes. The shelter were efficient, set up, and knew their business. Henry admired that. Nell had been the one to find them, assuring him that they were reputable, reliable, and a decent place to work with. She wanted nothing but the best, when it came to their newest addition.
Thanking Aly, posing for a few photos – as was custom for the shelter, when an animal found a new place, and making sure they had all of their paperwork, instructions in case Tilly needed to come back. Ha! They were on the their way, the five of them.
Kal led the way to the car, he had snacks waiting and needed to finish that nap he'd been taking. Henry opened the door, allowing Kal to get situated, before Ivan and Tilly joined him. Giving the big dog word of encouragement, telling him how fantastic he'd been with the entire thing.
“Mum, momma, mum.” Ivan bounded towards the car, at his mother's side “I'm sorry for being upset this morning.”
“You have nothing to apologise for, wild boy.” Carrying Tilly; Nell wrapped her other arm around Ivan. “But do me a favour, the next time you want to eves drop, come to us before assuming things.”

Let Me Be Myself Chapter 3: Memory Lane
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A/N: this was written for @daydreamingatnight209 for Pom’s server swap.
Summary: Spencer and Reader take a trip down memory lane courtesy of their inquisitive kids.
“Hey, Mom, how did you and Dad fall in love?” My daughter asks Y/N. I snort, remembering that it started with a dare. Y/N snorted herself. “Aunt Emily said it was ridiculous.”
I glanced at Y/N, wondering what she was going to say. This was the first time any of our quints had shown any interest in how they came to be. “It started with a dare.” Y/N finally says. “Mine, to be accurate.”
“Yours?” Our daughter echoes in disbelief which makes her siblings start listening in as well. I'm surprised Emily actually said anything on the matter.
“Yes, mine.” Y/N said with a chortle as I remember.
----- Memory Start -----
“Come on, Einstein, it's just a prediction! Most often, they don't come true.” Y/N tried to convince me as I doctored my coffee. I snorted.
“You expect me to walk into there for something I know won't come true?" I hissed. My dearest wish has never happened. I wished last year on my birthday that Y/N would finally see that her current boyfriend was an asshole. “Wow, that's actually a new low for you.” I took a measured sip of my coffee. “Why won't you take Reginald?”
She sighed. “I tried, Spencer. Every time he makes up an excuse as to why we can't go.” I rolled my eyes as I made up my mind to go with her. Reginald's continued excuses are the reason I’m going with her. I’m also her best friend...though I wish I weren't friend-zoned.
“I’ll go but Reginald’s still an asshole.” I said as I added a bit more sugar to my coffee. What can I say, I like it sweet.
“Thank you, Spence!” she exclaimed and kissed me on the cheek. I blushed and thankfully, she didn't notice that my face had gone as red as my cardigan sweater. “I don't know what I would do without you.”
“Let’s hope you never find out.” I muttered before taking another sip. “Is Reginald working late tonight?” Y/N nodded miserably. He was probably cheating on her, the bastard. I’d seen him making out with his current receptionist the other night. “Come over to my place. Let's finish the Tenth Doctor tonight.”
“As much as I would love to, you and I both know he hates our Doctor Who nights.” she replied. I hated knowing that I’d be a healthier choice for her to have a relationship with than Reginald.
“Actually, who names their child Reginald? Even Elton John had the sense to change his name!” I exclaimed as we went out into the bullpen.
"Not everyone is Elton John, Spence." Y/N wearily replies as she sits down at her desk across from mine.
----- Memory End -----
“You had to coerce Dad into going?” Our first daughter asked, bringing me back into the present. Our other kids were laughing uproariously at Y/N’s recount of convincing me. “I thought coercion was wrong.”
“Honey, your mother didn't coerce me. There's actually a difference between coercion and persuading, which you’ll find out the definition of in a few years.” I said, smiling at the memory. “Besides, I got what I wanted in the end.”
"And what was that, Dad?" One of our two boys asked.
"I wanted your mother and by extension, you." I simply said as I squeezed Y/N's hand lightly to let her know I loved her. She gave me a smile and leaned her head into the crook of my neck.
----- Memory Start -----
We walked into the fortune teller’s tent. I was still highly skeptical about it. I still believe that most fortune tellers prey on human emotions, it’s a profiling turned carnival trick and that it’s not adequately rooted in science. She took one look at us, rose to her feet and bluntly asked, “When’s the wedding? You two make a lovely couple.”
Awkwardly I answered, “We’re...not together.”
She smirks at me and says, “Yet. Fate wants you two together.” I blinked in surprise at her declaration that we were supposed to be together.
After telling her that we weren't interested in a full session, we walked out of the tent. Suddenly, “Oh shit, tonight’s date night!” came out of y/n’s mouth. I raise my eyebrows at her. Twice a month, our team held Date Night, which gave established couples a chance to relax and have fun. I always volunteered to babysit Henry and Michael on those nights because I didn't want to see Y/N with Reginald.
The fortune teller came out and said, "Mr. Reid, a quick word before you and your friend leave." I nodded and went back into the tent, while Y/N went shopping since our task was completed. “You need to go to date night tonight. I'm sensing that this is the chance that you've been waiting for all year.” I blinked in surprise again.
“It’s Doctor and how did...” She pointed to my FBI ID Badge. I had forgotten to take it off when we left work.
----- Memory End -----
“But how did you two get together?” our three daughters ask in unison. I laughed. Whenever the kids were inquisitive, they were my kids. “And how did you know this would be your chance to sweep mom off her feet?”
“A gentleman doesn't kiss and tell.” I stated.
“In Dad speak that means you think we're not old enough.” Said our second son. I could see the disappointment on my children's faces. I wasn't going to share everything about what the fortune teller had said to me that day.
“No, it means I haven't told your mother how I knew.” I calmly replied. “And there are some things I would rather keep to myself.”
----- Memory Start -----
I had totally spaced on Date night. I found a sexy number that I had gotten for my birthday and hadn't worn (as Reginald hated it) in the back of my closet. It was a rose-gold colored knee-length bodycon dress that showed a healthy, tasteful amount of my cleavage (which wasn't much, thankfully).
“You are not wearing that tonight.” Reginald said as he walked by my room. I frowned, bristling at the imperious demand.
“I will wear whatever I want.” I replied, deciding on the dress in that instant.
“You look like a skank in that dress.” He said and then left to make his own preparations. I ignored him and put on the dress. The moment he saw me in it, he refused to speak to me. When we got to the bar that the team was at, JJ raised an eyebrow.
“And here I thought Reginald wouldn't let you wear that.” JJ remarked.
“It looks good on you!” Penelope gushed. “Spencer chose well.” I looked at her, shocked. “Wait, you didn’t know Spencer got it for your birthday? He saw it and knew it had to be yours.” I shook my head.
“That's why he refused to put a gift tag on it.” JJ explained. “He knew Reginald would never let you wear it as we all did. How...” I grinned, emboldened by the knowledge that Spencer had gifted me this dress.
“I told him I would wear whatever I wanted.” JJ and Garcia both beamed.
“Good.” both women remarked as they took sips of their drinks. I was drinking a piña colada and despite Reginald being an ass while ignoring me, I was having fun.
He seemed to be getting into an argument with Prentiss and Rossi when I looked for him. I frowned since that likely meant he was drunk. He'd pick a fight with Bigfoot, if Bigfoot existed, while he was drunk. “Where’s Spence?” I asked. After he had finished speaking to the fortune teller alone, I tried to get him to tell me what she’d said and my best friend immediately clammed up.
“He’s here somewhere.” JJ remarked as Reginald came up to us. This surprised me as Spencer preferred sitting for his godsons rather than come to Date Night.
“We’re leaving.” He growled. “Doctor Noodle Boy is here.” Again I bristled, this time for the nickname he gave Spence.
“No, we just got here. If you want to go, go. JJ and Penelope...” I started with tears threatening to fall. Why had I not heeded Spencer's warnings about Reginald?
“I said we're going.” he restated, raising his voice.
“Let me go to the bathroom first.” I said. He nodded and I ran to the bathroom, intending to cry my eyes out but before I got there, I was pulled into a warm, minty embrace. It was Spencer.
“Spence...” I cried into his shirt. He lifts my chin and tenderly wipes away my tears.
“F*** him.” Spencer said. “Leave him and be with me. I don't know when I'll have another chance to convince you.” Spencer murmured before kissing me on the forehead.
On a preserving whim, I decided to leave Reginald. I pulled Spencer's head down, stood on my tiptoes and kissed him just as Reginald stomped towards us. “You wore that for him, didn't you?” Reginald snapped. I gathered my courage which was boosted by Spencer standing behind me.
“We’re over, Reginald.” I said.
“We’re over when I say we're over.” he growled, forcefully grabbing my arm. “We’re going, NOW!” However, Spencer looked at him.
“I’ve been very tolerant of you up until now for Y/N’s sake. Get your hands off her before I break your fingers.” Spencer said coolly.
“Make me, *Pretty Boy*.” Reginald challenged.
“Don’t touch what's no longer yours.” Spencer hissed and broke Reginald’s wrist, ignoring his howl of pain as he escorted me away. I looked back to see cops escorting Reginald outside. When we got back to the dance floor, ironically, ‘You Shouldn't Kiss Me’ was playing. “I knew that dress would look gorgeous on you.” he whispered as he led me onto the dance floor.
We danced to song after song like we were the only two in the room. “I hate to interrupt,” Rossi said coming up to us some hours later. “But the bar’s closing.” Spencer gave me a final twirl.
“Now, how about that Doctor Who marathon?” he murmured. I beamed at him in response and nodded my head. He intertwined his fingers with mine and we walked to his car.
“Thank you.” I murmured, holding onto his hand tightly.
“For what?” Spencer asked.
“For everything. You were right. He was an asshole.” I said, twining my arms around his neck.
----- Memory Start -----
Our kids were laughing uproariously at Reginald’s wrist being broken and my admitting that Daddy was right. “It wasn't that funny.” I mumbled.
“Y/N, you rarely admit you are wrong so yes, it is funny.” Spencer said as I rolled my eyes. I was waiting for the kids’s bedtime to break some welcome news to my husband. I was pregnant again.
“What happened next?” Our kids eagerly asked in unison.  Spencer’s lips quirked into a small smile.
“Your mother broke her foot while we were on a case.” he said with a chuckle. “Not to mention the fortune cookies with dinner that same night.”
----- Memory Start -----
I fell down, my gun falling from my hands as I heard a loud crack. I tried getting up but couldn't. Prentiss directed Spencer to carry me before cautiously going into the house.  I groaned as Spencer lifted me up, held, and carried me bridal style. “How is it that now we're finally a couple, odd things keep happening?”
“The fortune teller said Fate wanted us together.” Spencer replied as he carried me to an SUV. I groaned at his answer.
“How can you be so...blasé about all of this?!” I exclaimed as he drove to the emergency room. What happened to our man of science?!
“I knew from the moment I met you that you were the woman I’d love for the rest of my life.” My eyes widened. I hadn't expected that answer out of him. “You know, I want kids.” He said as he drove.
“Where did that come from?” I asked. Spencer said nothing. “So do I.” I admit as I keep my eyes on the road to distract me from my pain.
--
Thanks to my foot being broken, I had to hobble on crutches which meant I couldn't fly. It had something to do with what Spence had done before I was hired, apparently. Prentiss arranged for me to have a ride home with JJ as I lived in the same general area. “Could you drop me off at Spencer's?” I asked, seeing Reginald on my doorstep. JJ nodded and turned around. I slowly made my way up to his apartment after she dropped me off and knocked on the door.
When he answered, he said, “What's wrong?” as he let me in.
“Reginald is waiting for me on my doorstep.” I replied. Spencer made a disgusted noise before kissing my forehead.
“When is that guy going to learn?” He mumbled. Then he brightened. “I was just about to order Chinese, want some?” I nodded in agreement. While we waited for our food, Spencer asked, “Doctor Who or Star Trek?”
“Star Trek.” I said as I realized I didn't have any clothes. Fortunately, Spence was one step ahead and had earlier bought me a change of clothes besides pj’s from the store. He also handed me a hoodie sweater.
“This is yours now, Y/N.” I unfolded the sweater to see that it was his Caltech hoodie. “I figured that bastard wouldn't give up.” he said as we settled down to watch Star Trek Voyager. We only had to pause it once in order to get the food and we ate in companionable silence.
When I took our dishes in, I saw a hastily written note taped on top of a couple fortune cookies. It said, ‘Doctor, these are for you and the Mrs.’
Mine read, ‘A good marriage requires falling in love many times — all with the same person.’ I agreed with the sentiment. Spencer’s read, ‘If I know what love is, it is because of you.’
“That is so true.” he murmured.
----- Memory End -----
“It’s still true.” Spencer replied as he looked at our kids who were making faces at us for kissing.
“Don’t I know it.” I replied.  “Not a day goes by without me thanking the Lord that you were there when Reginald tried to force me to go home.”
“Me too.” Spencer said, kissing me on the forehead, like he had been ever since that first night.
“Moom!” Our daughters said, embarrassed. Our sons groaned.
“Our love only grew stronger, Y/N.” my husband reminded me. I smile at the five kids, soon to be six. I couldn't keep quiet any longer.
“Come December, there's going to be a new Reid.” I announced. Spencer’s eyes widened at my news. The kids looked delighted.
“That’s wonderful!” Spencer exclaimed, hugging me. Then in my ear, he whispered, “Remember that time we had to share the same bed on a case?” I chortled.
“How could I forget?” I replied.
----- Memory Start -----
“I'm sharing a room with who, Prentiss?!” I exclaimed in shock. Prentiss had just informed me that I'd be sharing a room with my new boyfriend.
“There aren't enough rooms, so you're rooming with Reid.” Prentiss repeated, “I didn’t expect any protest considering he is your boyfriend.” She shrugged and I followed Spencer to our room. But I received another shock when we entered the room. There was only one bed. Thankfully, there was a couch.
“I’ll take the couch.” I said, not noticing that Spencer was behind me.
“We can share the bed.” he murmured. When I started to protest, he added, “We’re only sharing a bed, it isn’t the end of the world.”
“I thought to save it for my husband.” I absentmindedly said.
“Oh, so you think I won't be your husband? Don't worry, I’ll behave. I'm only joking.” he promised.
“I know you will. I trust you with my life so I can trust you with my virtue. Okay, we can share the bed.” I agreed. He put his arms around me. I leaned into his embrace.
----- Memory End -----
“You were the one that didn't behave.” he reminded me quietly. I grinned, remembering the rest of that night. That had been the night that the quintuplets were conceived.
“You could have said no.” I replied. I felt his chest rumble with laughter.
“I should have made you promise to behave too.” He mumbled. I laughed as he kissed my neck.
“Mom, what happened next?” Our three daughters asked.
“I nearly lost your father.” I said.
----- Memory Start -----
Tears fell down my face. I was pregnant with Spencer's child after two months of marriage and he was in the hospital in Texas with another neck injury, this recent injury courtesy of Reginald. “Hey, you okay?” JJ asked.
“What if he doesn't pull through? I can't do this without him.” I sobbed.
“Do what?” JJ asked again.
“I’m pregnant, JJ.” I said, still sobbing. “I can't raise this kid without him. Diana won't be much help...”
“Y/N, the doctor wants to talk to you.” Emily called out before JJ could say a word of reassurance to me.
Reginald’s bullet narrowly missed Spencer's carotid artery and hit Spencer a few inches below it. I didn't need to worry about him, since he went to prison for assaulting a federal agent. I was told I could visit but was warned to not excite him as he needed to rest. Angry, I went to visit Reginald.
“To what do I owe the pleasure of your company?” Reginald asked smugly.
“Your stunt. You could have killed him, Reginald. If he dies, you better believe I will be pushing for you to go to Death Row.” His eyes widened.
“I only wanted you back,” he explained.
“How does killing the man I lo-” I pause, considering my words carefully. “How does killing the man I love get me back?” I demand. “Let me tell you something, Reginald, if you ever loved me, you will let me go. Never contact me again.” I left after that. I went home, cried, ate ice cream, cried and went to sleep.
Three weeks later, I was beginning to show when Spence woke up. The funny thing was JJ had to drag me to the hospital because I did not want to see him unconscious again.
I entered his room to see him sitting up, animatedly chatting with Luke. Luke smiled and got up. “I’ll just um...” he left.
“Spence...” I breathed in relief and kissed him. “If you ever...”
“I know, I know. You’ll kill me.” he murmured softly. His fingertips brushed the curve of my growing belly. “Are you...” he asked excitedly.
“As of yesterday, ten weeks pregnant.” I answered, just as excited as he was.
“Um, love, you don't look ten weeks pregnant.” Spencer said. “You look thirteen, maybe fourteen weeks pregnant...”
“Shut up.” I muttered.
----- Memory End -----
Our kids were howling with laughter at my telling daddy to shut up.  I laughed too because it had been funny.
“I was right after all though.” Spencer said as he held me in bed after we’d gotten the kids to bed. “Five children...”
“I’d never been more terrified in my life than I was at the moment we found out I was pregnant with quintuplets.” I muttered. Well, that was a lie. I had been so petrified at the idea of raising Spencer's child on my own if he died. There was no way I could have raised all five on my own.
----- Memory Start -----
“Ready to see our baby, Einstein?” I asked Spencer the day of my second ultrasound. Spencer smiled at me and nodded as he tenderly tucked a lock of my hair back into place behind my ear. I noticed Spencer’s enlarged eyes and shocked expression first before hearing the doctor’s words.
“That would be babies, Mrs. Reid.” the doctor dryly stated as he looked at the ultrasound screen . Both Spencer and I stared at the screen in shock.
“Babies?!” I repeated dumbly, seeing a pair of fetuses on the screen.
“I was only joking! Do twins even run in your family?” Spencer exclaimed and then asked. In fact, yes, multiples did tend to appear on both sides of my family.
“They do, Spence.” I said softly. “At least they’ll have each other growing up.”
“Looks like quintuplets.” the doctor informed us. Both Spencer and I paled. That meant a high risk pregnancy.
----- Memory End -----
Pulled out of my reminiscing by Spencer's lips on the top of my head, I took a look at the ultrasound photo. “Seven, Einstein. There's possibly twins in here.” I said as I pressed his palm to my still flat stomach.
“I’m glad I accepted your dare, Y/N. Happily married to the woman I love and adore more than my own life with seven kids to boot.” We were both wrong. Later, we would find out, much to JJ’s and Garcia's amused delight, I was pregnant with triplets so we had eight energetic, bright, and happy children.
“Now will you tell me what the fortune teller told you?!” I asked in exasperation. Spencer smiled. “And don't give me that ‘A gentleman never kisses and tells’ shit you gave the kids earlier.”
“She told me that I needed to attend Date Night the night that we got together.” Spencer said, shocking me as he drew patterns on my tummy with the pad of his finger. “Why, do you regr...”
I put a finger to his lips and remarked, “If you love me, Spence... don't ever finish that sentence.”
“Your wish is my command.” Spencer said, kissing me tenderly as one of our babies kicked.

Oh you watching You? What’s your ranking on the characters so far?
So here is my ranking and as I am the type of person who don't get names while watching shit I might be wrong (and forget some people)
Peach: now why put her first when she was a crazy-sexy-rich-closeted-stalker ? Because I think with my pussy first. Her being hot makes her eligible for the top of the podium. She shouldn't have been killed, they could have put her in a coma and preserved her fine self. (She needs to come back as an hallucinations idgaf)
The little sister: my poor smart child... deserved much more than her world getting rocked by a white man with a suspicious hairline. The actress was amazing I hope she hit big too.
Joe: I don't like Joe but I get him sometimes. Yes I'm praying on his downfall since he killed my girl amd also the fact that he is a crazy stalker and his voice annoys me A LOT. I think I just made peace with the fact that he is the driving entity of this show. So I tolerate him (his ranking does not reflect some kind of affection just acceptance).
Sherry: a comedic genius. The subtlety of the acting makes this character perfect in her madness.
Marienne: gracious, elegant, beautiful, a good mother who tries to get her shit together and deserves better. Would NEVER have fucked Joe #fiction. The chosen one as she is the first one "you" to not die from Joe.
The big sister who was reporter: "lalalatinas I like latinas". See its how Love status on my don't fuck with list got eternal. She was a good woman who didn't deserve to end that way.
Beck's friends: now they were funny
Joe's co-worker in s1 that I will name Percy or Perry. He was funny af + his co-worker in s3 just because.
Theo : didn't like him, happy he didn't die though. His step dad and mother could get it tho.
Henry: yes the child is catching stray too. There because his parents choose an old man name.
Love: now she don't deserves this spot (maybe) but I just want to be hateful one more time. Annoying, killed without thinking, acted upon her emotions and not her brain. I watched the show for her at first but she didn't deliver and she isn't giving what people are saying she gave. Sometimes I respected the hustle tho.
Beck : unseasoned yt woman. I could find 10 women looking like her by walking down the streets. And I have to admit I forgot how her face was structured (I'm aware she is on gossip girl but I had to see a tweet to realise it was her).
Love's brother (not named Rudy or Ziggy but in my head yes): never seen someone that annoying on my screen. Deserved to die.
Bryan: the devil himself
