Ahh thank you! I did Thistle first today in the other ask...might as well do my other nonbinary icon who I've been missing like a mf lately (my beloved Phoenix)

(I don't think I ever posted many of their hot weather outfits but they were some of my favorites...the backwards cap is so good on them...)

Phoenix has a thing for artists. Genuinely. Their first crush was on Cass, an artist-we all know this. But something no one knows?

They randomly got a crush on Linh at some point as well, @philodendrontrait's DIY artist queen. I never included it in posts bc it never amounted to anything gameplay wise. My goal for Phoenix's teenage years was to have them break some hearts, sleep around a bit--and then in a hilarious twist of fate the only people they liked were the two asexuals, and their chemistry with Cass was so good they basically just had a happy relationship for a while until they fucked it up beyond repair lmfao. Then they fell in love with Vivienne later, who is also an artist. None of this was intentional but it was sure as hell consistent!

2. Building on Phoenix's thing for artists-I think in spirit they were an artist too. They autonomously maxed the painting skill because whenever they weren't baking, they beelined straight for the easel and just would not stop painting. I eventually leaned into it and just let them do it bc I thought it was cute.

3. I somewhat planned out Phoenix being trans, but initially I was going to have them fully transition into a woman because I wanted my heir to be a trans butch lesbian. Not specifically for the orange gen for any reason--I just realized that although I've had many lesbian heirs, none of them were butches and that was a crime against nature. So I just had my sights set on my next heir being a butch. Phoenix wanting to use they/them pronouns as a child was supposed to be a stepping stone into transitioning to she/her, since their parent was nonbinary they were following in Thistle's footsteps at first until they would realize that they weren't quite the same. As they got older, that idea started to fit their character less and less, and the nonbinary identity started to fit them more than my initial plans-so while they are transfem, they are a nonbinary lesbian like me! My only other nonbinary lesbian in the legacy was Pepper's sibling, Nane, who I loved so dearly I almost had them be the heir (but I had my mind set on having my founder be a woman so Pepper won out in the end). I've had multiple nonbinary heirs before but none of them were lesbians until Phoenix. I have no clue why.

4. I don't remember the exact number that was in their safe, but it was over 200k. Phoenix and Vivienne were making fucking bank. I know the rules say that the pink gen grew up poor, but that is simply not what happened. I made so much money with businesses and hobbies. It was so fun. I never got past a 3 star business for either of them though-Nerine aged up just before Vivienne hit 4 stars and Phoenix fucking died so rip to the bakery I loved so much.

5. One of the requirements for maxing the public enemy sim was to witness the death of another sim. I more enjoyed Phoenix's gameplay as a baker rather than a criminal (which I think tracks for both the generation and Phoenix themself), so while I did complete this and had some posts addressing it, I never ended up posting them because they just weren't really that important. There was some random guy making fun of the dead Thayer legacy members at the family graveyard when Phoenix was dropping off a grave...you can figure out the rest.

That being said, I am NOT sorry to tianshii88/rentbunny/zhuhaitang/yin-shimo for anything. I still stand by everything that I said about their shipping preferences not being tagged correctly or kept away from unconsenting parties, how they conduct themselves with minors, and how generally creepy I find them as a person. I blocked them partly because they were liking posts calling me a coon and telling me to kill myself, and I think it's very funny they sifted through people simply not liking their extremely high poly count (ignoring all the times they got compliments of course) and an out of context remark not even directed towards them as "receipts" to play the victim. They are not a victim in any capacity and when I have the time to do so I will post everything I have and everything I can find. I was going to let it go and leave them unnamed but I guess they don't want it to be that way. I truly find them unnerving and one of the only people I know on simblr I would worry about the minors here being around. I stand by their ban from my server 100% and I would encourage others to do the same.

In the last few days, I've actually seen more people saying how they were made uncomfortable by tianshi's actions towards them, and if anyone else feels comfortable coming to me with the details, please do so. You got the actual receipts, hell, send them. Especially if you have the ones from his server with the dead dove channel full of 12-15 year olds. I'll add them to the mountain. And I'll censor them and keep you anonymous. I'm not one for callout posts anymore, but honestly, as a victim of CSA myself and someone that was groomed on the internet as a young child, this entire situation has been sending up red flags throughout for me. The flippant attitude, the mocking of survivors, the lack of empathy or accountability, it's all really disturbing. This may be the one time I really just have to force myself through all the shit I've been sent and lay it out like I used to. It's tough and it's triggering as hell and I don't want to. God knows I don't have the mental energy or a lot of time for this shit anymore. But they will not stop attacking me and unrelated people in the server even though I tried my best not to name them or bring them shit, and I think they really think they haven't done a thing wrong ever. They admit to everything yet defend everything, from saying putting a minor in a sexual pose for cc preview is okay because the original mangaka did it first to pretending having a dead dove channel in a server full of minors is okay because it has a simple react role to access... and more near incoherent word salad. Every concern you bring up has a convenient excuse, while they call survivors crybabies and dumbasses for being triggered by their irresponsible and creepy behavior. While they try to invalidate people with legitimate concerns about their creepiness by calling them bullies for bringing up their poly count or trying to frame them as something they're not. And if they think all that is okay, people in the community are going to continue to be harmed by them in the future, and I really don't want that.

When I post it, it'll be appropriately tagged and most likely under a read more so that anyone that doesn't want to see it can avoid it. Sorry guys.

FREEDOM HAIR

A wonderful and voluminous wavy hair, with 3 color palettes and some loose strands this hair is a mix of what I love in hairs and name with a meaning huge for me, I hope you guys enjoy this hair. 

BEHIND THE NAME: This hair is named after Beyoncé’s song: Freedom.  This song has been a mantra for me in the last weeks.  It reminds me that I have to fight those who oppress me and never give up my freedom to be who I am and that “if life gives me lemons, I can make lemonade”. 

This music also reminds me, that there are millions of people around the world protesting, facing rubber bullets, pepper spray, and whatever else comes to them to scream for everyone to hear that none of them will simply lay down and let their freedom rot in hell! Showing their oppressors that they're tired of being oppressed and killed by their skin color, gender, etc. 

And as each one of these people had/have the strength to go out into the streets and scream: BLACK LIVES MATTER, WE ARE BORN THIS WAY, I'M NOT A VIRUS and a lot of other truths, that aren’t hard to say but apparently is hard to understand for some “people”; I can also have the strength to face those who humiliate me and discriminate me in my real life.

I admire all these brave people, each one, all of you are my inspiration for not bow my head in a country where when happening homophobia, xenophobia, r*cism, sexism, etc, is something "normal" and even cultural; and for a LOT of people, it makes you an aberration, a monster, you shouldn't even exist or even worse, they kill you. 

Some facts about Brazil that I also want to take this opportunity to say to the rest of the world, and the government and a lot of people I know in real life doesn’t mention:

- 71% of homicide victims in Brazil are black. They are mostly black men, with low education and income, living in the periphery and aged up to 29 years.

- In Brazil there is one murder a day related to homophobia.

- We are the country that kills the most transsexuals in the world.

- Brazil ranks fifth in female homicides, with a rate of 4.8 murders per 100,000 women, of which 65% are black.

- There were 4,606 women murdered in 2016, in addition to 49,497 reported r*pe cases

I know that I promised to not do long posts, but there are things in life that need to be said for everyone hear and not hide as I’m wrong for being proud of myself and for the fearless people out there, who fights against the oppression for themselves, their family and friends.  And I am really tired of being quiet to avoid conflict, hate, and more stress in my life; because here is my safe place from my real life as I always wanted it to be for everyone, and if someone hates me for being just for who I am and for what I believe it HAS to change.  I usually do early access in all my items, but this hair means so much for me for not sharing with everyone, as a reminder that I LOVE YOU ALL, no matter who you are.  Always remember to not hide because of the fear, and also that you are amazing, beautiful, and perfect in the way you are and if you need a place to feel safe, my Simblr is always here. how in depth do you edit your story posts? would you say reshade does a lot of it or do you go in and add details a lot? how long does it take? i’m doing a story myself and i want to keep telling it but the long editing process sets me back and can be de motivating sometimes and i’m just wondering if you have any tips on cutting it down or speeding the process up?

oh i totally know what you mean – editing is by far my LEAST favorite part of the process, so i do anything i can do to speed it up. i would say reshade does about 60% of the work, and then i run my own personal action in photoshop which does another 20% of the work (basically just resize, smart sharpen, denoise, and a very basic color grade to help boost skintones). the rest is just small details that vary from picture to picture. landscape pictures can take me less than 2 minutes to edit, whereas shots with multiple sims can take me upwards of 30 minutes because i'm a freak about using the liquify tool to smooth out sharp edges, redrawing stuff to get rid of clipping, fixing skin banding by hand, etc. the rest is just using various blurs (usually iris blur), and applying a final color grade / hue adjustments. LITERALLY the devil is in the details 😭

so now that i've complained for ages, here are my tips on speeding things up fjksjd

1. put all your reshade effects on a toggle, and take multiple screenshots with the effects on/off. ESPECIALLY if you have a wide variety of skintones. for example, finn is pale as fuck and bloom makes him look like.... well, a ghost:

so i take one pic WITH bloom:

one without:

and then i layer them in photoshop and use a soft eraser at a lower opacity (depends on the pic) to erase some of the bloom on his face. this means i never have to mess with my bloom settings in-game for every single picture i take. i do the same thing for dof or mxao if they’re giving me trouble. one pic on, one pic off, layer them, and erase.

2. create your own action and/or psd! there are tons of tutorials out there. whichever effects you find yourself using on a regular basis, combine them all in one to save you from doing boring shit over and over :’) i don’t find it super helpful to use other people’s actions, because everyone has a different style, but if you’re new to photoshop, it might be nice to download some actions just to try new things out!

3. this tip kinda sucks because i know most people on simblr don’t have a l*gal copy of photoshop (no shade, i p*rated for literally 10 years lmao and i only got the real copy bc it was free through my mom’s work) but the newest version of photoshop has sooo many cool effects. sky replacement (my beloved), neural filters (depth blur is SO good now, the edges are crisp as hell. you could probably get rid of dof in reshade altogether now), and camera raw filter (basically a one-stop-shop for every adjustment you may need, and has the ability to save presets in the same way you would use a psd). all of these save me so much time. i would be happy to do a more in-depth tutorial on this stuff if you’re interested, but like i said, i know most people don’t have access to these :(

4. simply edit less. sometimes i have to remind myself that no one will be zooming up into my sim’s hand to see if their ring has some clipping issues. you are your own worst enemy and of course you’ll notice every single flaw, but most other people won’t. if the only way you can realistically and feasibly tell your story is to edit less (or not edit at all) then so be it!! that’s okay!! do whatever you can do to lessen your stress 💖

Happy valentines day, dear!

I decided to make a skinblend that would be public download, I have also made another gift but that will be released on Sunday most probably as I didn’t have enough time today but I do hope you enjoy this gift and everyone else!

There are a few flaws such as the barely noticeable seam on the male neck and also the female eye is a bit wonky but I couldn’t fix it but it is easy covered with makeup.

She's a demon, but that doesn't mean too much. She possessed Blythe's body after years of prepping her throughout her child/adulthood. She has very little special powers, but the original Blythe's soul is now damned due to the prolonged demonic presence.

She has a brother, and I use that term loosely, named Cecil. He is also a demon.

She oversaw one of the layers of Hell with Cecil prior to her vacation in the mortal realm.

Despite her dark demeanor and style, her favorite color is Peach.

Her favorite foods are macarons and carbonara.

My Experience With Simvicii, Oliveandoak & Their Discord

I’ve seen a lot of posts going around in regards to simvicii, oliveandoak, their discord and private channels. I felt now would be the best time to speak out about my experience with these things. I think it’s best that people have as much information as possible.

Disclaimer: I am not innocent to anything and neither is anyone else in that discord. We are all at fault for allowing simvicii and oliveandoak behave the way they did as well as enabling/aiding in their behaviors. This is partly why I left tumblr back in March because I realized I had become the same type of person as them and I was disgusted with myself. This does not exclude me from any blacklash/punishment but I recognize my mistakes and left to address them.

How We Met: Probably around November/December or earlier back in 2019 Simvicii had dm’d me asking for a sim, this was when they went by a different username. At the time I wasn’t giving sims away because poor experiences but I had just followed her blog and became a fan so I gave her one. She later gave me a sim in exchange as well. The sim I gave her is who everyone knows as Hollie Evans. (More on this later)

Joining The Discord: After exchanging sims I never talked to Simvicii again so when Oliveandoak dm’d me asking if I wanted to join their discord I was a bit surprised. But me being me and wanting to be apart of something I chose to join, probably in early January. Everything seemed pretty normal at first but within the first few weeks I noticed a good amount of gossip going on. The server was still small and hand picked individuals so I guess they didn’t have to worry quite yet. Everything started pretty small/mild but then once the private channel was made things escalated.

The Private Channel: I guess under the safety of the channel Simvicii and Oliveandoak felt more comfortable being their true selves. Admittedly, Simvicii didn’t say too many harsh things but Oliveandoak definitely did. I remember on multiple occasions she posted screenshots of her asks and mocked the senders. There were a few asks where they didn’t quite make sense, most likely result of poor english, and she would mock them saying ‘wtf does this mean/how am i supposed to read this’ and others of the like.

Most of the time we, we being the others in the channel, would just go along with what they said. I noticed a few of them didn’t actually participate in many of those types of conversations, probably because they knew it was wrong. I myself would simply go along or ignore them because whenever I had tried to call Oliveandoak out for being too rude, mocking people, or simply tried to defend whoever it was she would get very passive aggressive with me.

Some Of What Was Said: For the most part I don’t remember a lot of the actual words and phrases they used but I remember a few of the topics. I know on several occasions they mocked their followers/people who sent them asks. They mocked simblrs they didn’t like. I actually remember three very specific simblrs being brought up almost daily by either simvicii or oliveandoak. They also would complain about people asking them to include POC or LGBTQ+ sims.

About The POC/LGBTQ+ Topics: I wanted to expand on this specifically because Simvicii is very good with words and a lot of us in the discord kind of were persuaded to agree based on how she worded things. So, most of the time the conversation was about how simblr forces people to include POC/LGBTQ+ sims and Simvicii felt that it was wrong or whatever because there’s a lot of blogs doing already + why should they be forced to do something on their blog, or something of that nature.

Now, to a degree I agreed with her simply because me being apart of the LGBTQ+ community I really hate seeing straight people trying to portray us. It almost always ends up weird and cringey. I didn’t want to see another person making that type of content. I just didn’t. So, I agreed and told her I didn’t think she needed to be posting that because she can’t related and it’s better to not do something you’re not informed on. However, that does not mean she can’t have LGBTQ+ backstory characters.

I know recently there’s a post going around with a screenshot of her talking about how asians are normally excluded from the term POC, especially here on simblr, and I have to agree. However, that does not mean you do not exclude the rest of the POC community in retaliation. Now, I’m not saying this to be rude but even when Simvicii makes “asian” sims they still look an awful lot like their white sims because their sim style makes them all look fairly similar. So, even when she made asian sims you could barely tell. But making asian sims does not exclude you from making black, hispanic, latino, middle eastern, islander, etc sims. You don’t get to trade one for the others.

Same with Oliveandoak. She got asks about her lack of POC sims and she complained saying ‘I have POC sims!!’. It doesn’t count when they’re all extremely white passing. I even personally sent her a dark skinned sim to which she switched the content on and made her look several shades lighter. This is a problem. Aesthetic or not you still need to include dark skinned sims and other races.

Moving on.

Hollie Evans: So, back to the original topic of Hollie Evans. A lot of you who know who Simvicii know who this sim is. She was one of the main characters paired as Romeo’s bff/gf/whatever. Well, yes I actually made that sim. HOWEVER, Simvicii claims (after 2-3 months of use) that the Hollie we see today isn’t actually my Hollie but a replica she made herself.

She claims that she ‘remade’ Hollie and just ‘used the same presets and everything’. I’m sorry but that’s not true. If you took a side by side of the two sims you would see that the facial structures are identical and we all know even if you try to recreate someone else’s style using the exact same content it’s not going to be 100% identical, which Hollie to her core is identical.

The thing that bothers me and hurts me is that she went our whole friendship telling me it’s the sim I gave her and then when confronted claims it’s not that sim, when clearly it is she just wants out of the doghouse. She sent Hollie to people for collabs without saying anything to me. She changed all her custom content ‘to match her style’ and she no longer uses the ‘Hollie Evans by Honeyswarm’ tags. Which the tag thing only happened after I left tumblr.

I think it’s extremely rude and hurtful to ask someone for a sim and then change everything about them, claim them as yours and share them with other people. It’s simply not right and she knows it. She would constantly bring up a blogger who had forced her to give them her sims and then ripped her off. She knows what that feels like and she knows that’s wrong.

There’s probably a hell of a lot more I could talk about, like the three blogs they always mentioned, how they all but basically convinced the private channel to exclude someone in the discord, their lack of care/empathy towards other server members/myself, admitting to sending hate to people they disliked/disagreed with and just their general toxic behavior and manipulation but I think this post is long enough.

I don’t have “evidence” to everything here because I never thought I’d need it/be posting about it but considering everyone’s coming out I figured I would too. The only “evidence” I have is in relation to our conversation when she admitted she ripped my sim off. If you’d like those I can share them but otherwise that’s all I have.

I don’t know if this post will reach anyone or even mean anything but I felt like I needed to say these things and make it aware to others. It’s always best to have as much information as possible so that’s what I’m doing here. It’s really up to you to decide what you do with it.

I also want to apologize to everyone affected by the things Simvicii and Oliveandoak have said/done. I’m so sorry I allowed them to say and do the things they said and did. I’m so sorry I didn’t stick up for y’all better. I was afraid of losing ‘friends’ and I was afraid what might happen if I went against them. That doesn’t make it any better but please no I am so deeply sorry for everything said/done in that server that I either aided in or allowed to happen.

1.) Do you hide any secrets in your stories that only a few people will find?

I don’t think that I hide any secrets per se, but I do include lines or images that foreshadow what’s to come, or hint at past events that haven’t yet been revealed. I think some of this goes unnoticed because most people probably don’t go back and re-read because it’s a lot and life is too busy, but I suppose if they did, they’d notice some of it! Other than this though, no secrets really. Or maybe those count as secrets? I DON’T KNOW NOW, lol.

 2.) Sims writing has a visual component. How do you utilize color/objects and settings in your stories?

Ahh, because of the visual component, I find myself trying to set scenes up in pretty locations. Do people often lie amidst a field of flowers to have a serious conversation? Probably not, but my sims will for the sake of having a nice background, lol. In earlier generations I didn’t do this as much, but in later generations, yes.

In general, I use the visual component to create a pleasing aesthetic that reflects that character. Sometimes I also let a picture speak for itself, especially at the end of a scene. Instead of putting that final feeling or description into words, sometimes I’ll leave it to the image to say it for me.

 7.) Do you have any characters you believe might be misunderstood by your readers?

Ummm, yeah....maybe. I think Isaac gets misunderstood because he’s introduced as the third character in a love triangle and I find people will often root for the original pairing and see the third as an intruder who’s just there to mess things up. I even had that in mind in early drafts, but more and more it’s become obvious that Isaac’s not trying to mess up anything. In fact, the last thing he wants to do is hurt Augustus again, so it’s not like you’re going to see him trying to sabotage his relationship with Patrick or anything like that.

Plus, I think, surprisingly, a lot of people took Gemma’s warnings to heart about, you know, why didn’t Isaac try harder and I don’t trust him and such. And it’s not that those points aren’t valid, they are, but I think some people might have left that thinking that Isaac had some malevolent intent or wasn’t a good person and that’s just not the case. It was a shitty situation and maybe Isaac could have done more, maybe, but it also makes sense why he didn’t and, yeah. Just a shitty situation that never had any easy solutions.

12.) What is your favorite thing about the simblr story writing process?

Seeing the finished product, haha. Sometimes when I’m slogging through endless re-writes or battling the game to get the right photos, it can feel like the stupid chapter will never get done, but once it finally is, it’s this huge feeling of accomplishment. Like holy shit, it’s done—written in a way that I actually like with pictures that I actually like and WOAH, I did this? Really? ME? All those scenes I daydreamed about for weeks on end are HERE, fully written with pictures and everything?!?! Whew. It’s a rush, lol.

Besides that, I do actually enjoy writing, lol. It’s hard and I get frustrated, but there’s nothing like the feeling of finally getting it right; finally putting those pictures and ideas in my head down into words. It takes forever, but it’s worth it.

 14.) What is something that you think most of your readers might miss?

Ah, well, because my updates have been soooooooo far apart, there’s probably a lot of things people will miss simply because the story isn’t fresh in their minds. Hell, even I had to re-read a lot of shit and I literally wrote it, so I’m not even fussed or surprised, lol.

One thing I think I’m noticing though is that readers might be missing how disconnected Augustus is from Patrick? In almost every scene with them, Augustus hides something from him or gets uncomfortable, and yet after all these scenes with the two of them, it seems like the most common comment I get is how sweet they are, lol. And I mean, they are! Don’t get me wrong! Patrick is adorable and they are sweet to one another and he does make Gus happy, but also every time I read their scenes, I’m kind of cringing because I know Augustus isn’t always acting entirely like himself. 

Although he does care for Patrick and adores him, he’s more careful, more reserved, more guarded. Though, this probably hasn’t been picked up on as much because there hasn’t been too much comparison and right now, he’s even been guarded around Gemma sometimes, so...it probably feels like he’s acting as he always does. I hope, in the chapters to come, this discrepancy will become more apparent.

Hi, so I’ve been playing a lot of diffrent games (everything Dragon Age, The Settlers, Spellforce (1-3), Baldurs Gate, Planet Coaster) and didn’t playtest my new setup as I planned to. Since this is a Simblr (and not a Dragon Age Blog, but OMG that behind the scenes trailer, pushed me deep down to the fiery Dragon Age hell and I simply had to do my chaos playthrough (of all 3 main games) again, because I love my human hating city-elf, sarcastic Mage-Hawke and chantry loyal Inquisitor. Not my head canon, but still a blast.), it might be time to answer questions asked related to that game. I’m sorry, I come back to you so late, but I don’t check the replies section frequently enough. Shame on me.

Thank you and you’re welcome. These are actually a good questions. Inteen will definetly provide the neccessary meshes, so teens, who are pregnant, will show up well rounded. For my combination, I can confirm, that the casual wear etc., will show up correctly, if the teen wears a costume outfit, which has a pregnancy morph. But will their naked body have a bump? I honestly don’t know. To make sure I would have to load my game and test it. If anybody reading this, who is using/tested ChrisHatch Alternate Pregnancy Controller, can confirm this, please do so. I’ll make an edit, when I tested it myself.

awesomeismyname13: How badly does inteen conflict?

With what exactly? Inteen is a big mod. It changes a lot of things in the game, that why it is more likely to clash with other mods. Inteen modifies the way campus works, delivery of babies and interactions inbetween sims, just to name a few. Any other mod, that also changes these things, might be incompatible with Inteen. Some modders put out alternative versions of their creations, so they work alongside Inteen, but not every modder does that. Some things can’t be made compatible and no modder should feel obliged to make a version, that is Inteen-compatible (at least I think so). Please PM me, if there is a specific mod, you need help with :)

I just wanted to add, that I found a work around for independent teens (aka teens, who the game treats as adults), who aren’t enrolled in school anymore, but should be (e.g. nobles, scholars, monks, nuns): Simlogical has a handy thing called the School Changer, which allows independent teens to be enrolled in a school again. I have tested this successfully.

Why have you changed? I originally followed your blog when you played the Woodruff Legacy, when you were playing with original sims and I thought that was great! Now, it comes across as you are forcing yourself to satisfy others. You are creating these “k-pop” sims (imo, does not look like any of them) and/or trying to give “tips” how to create them. Or taking other simmers ideas opposed to being original and coming up with your own. I don’t know, but everything just seems too forced.

Oh wow, this is a bit of a sad ask! Not saying that in a way that you’re sad, but that it’s a little sad to me. The feelings hit! 😂 But well nonny, the simple answer is that my interests changed! I still have the Woodruffs and play them on my own (bunny is an adult now with kids of her own!) but the reason I was on hiatus so long is that I simply wasn’t having fun with it anymore- I was taking so long trying to plan my legacy and what I would do with each gen that I wasn’t playing or enjoying myself anymore. I wasn’t satisfied playing that way and I just... stopped. When I changed the direction of my blog, it was after being a kpop fan for 2-3+ years. (Even on my old asks I would respond with kpop gifs and such) During my hiatus I always wanted to post sims and cc related to that, but was always conflicted about changing the aesthetic I had already set. Eventually I bit the bullet and decided to change, and I’ve been having so much fun! I’ve been going in game every day, I’ve had inspiration for cc (which I never created before), I’ve met lots of people that actually talk to me and share their interests, I’ve learned more about editing, and lots of other good stuff.

Now, onto the meaty part of the ask. The part about my sims, ouch! Way to hit my insecurity 😂 I understand they aren’t everyone’s cup of tea and they aren’t accurate, but honestly they’re just as precious to me as the Woodruffs (and really, even more, since most of my kpop sims are based on actual muses of mine rather than generated by the game). Also, the only reason I gave “tips” is because nonnies gave me compliments on them/wanted to download them, so I tried to share what I did to help them make their own. I can understand how it would seem kinda shallow if only because I haven’t gotten into doing stories/gameplay with them because I get so distracted making cc, hyperfocus is a hell of a thing lol.

Okay, now, taking other simmers’ ideas- this is the only part I don’t get. Which simmers’ ideas did I take? Is it doing a bachelor challenge or human enough challenge? Because those are pretty standard things to do. Or maybe you’re talking about other kpop simmers like @simgguk? (Just one example of a blog with kpop sims) because I’ve thought about this, even though imo our sim styles are actually very different, I thought, will people think I’m copying them? Because they were here doing it first? I think in the simblr community, inspiration is a big thing but also is jealously. Often times people have the same ideas, because there’s nothing new under the sun- but here in simblr, if you don’t do it first you run the risk of getting hate (not saying you’re hating!) and people saying you’re copying even though that’s not what you intended. I think this creates a lot of resentment and even competition in the community. When making my content/deciding on ideas, I have to take a step back and say, “is this too similar”? But also, “is this good enough”? “Is this even worth people seeing when someone else has already done it better than I ever could”? And that can be stressful too. But I stick with it because I actually like what I’m doing now.

As just one example, I would think I speak for many BTS fans in that, if you have sims based on them, the first thing you thought when you saw Sulani was their Bon Voyage series where they go on vacation- but how many different ways can a simmer portray that, being set in a location without a lot of varying aspects to it? So when someone else does it first, like @simgguk (I swear to god I’m not calling you out haha it’s just example!) you think, how in the world can I do what I wanted to do without looking like I’m copying? The answer is that you can’t really lol. So, I decided not to do Bon Voyage and to do Woo the Maknae instead, because I had ideas for it, it was a challenge I had thought of before Sulani and thought it would be cute to do there without being too similar.

I think it probably especially hurts seeing as I basically watched most of the kpop simblrs I see now start up their blogs in the first place and continue to where they are now- while I watched and wanting to do some of the same things/having the same ideas but was too afraid of changing my aesthetic, being called a copier or not being as good! It’s a case of “when you snooze, you lose” but that’s also not a good mentality to have while still being content with yourself. For anyone reading this ramble- your content is worthy even if it’s similar to someone else’s and you don’t have to be “good enough” or better than them. Though I guess that’s easier to say than live, right! I still have plenty of my own insecurities.

I suppose the question here would be, would I be facing these same problems if I still did the content from before and not kpop? Well, no, but only because I probably wouldn’t be posting at all. But if I was posting, I would still be stressed- I was frustrated with ideas and already worried I was copying other simblrs with maxis match and rustic aesthetics. Even though I liked the Woodruffs, I had little inspiration besides posting gameplay screenies. I tried to plan a camp half gen, but got frustrated with that. I tried to plan gen 2 + 3, and got frustrated with that. And in the end did nothing. It wasn’t until I got the idea to make a sim based on Min Yoongi- who not only I’m a fan of concerning the IRL person but also a muse of mine in their fictional MV series storyline- that I really had any sparks or felt excited about sims again.

So, when you say it’s forced, I think that’s from your viewpoint and not mine- and I’m sorry if I made it seem that way somehow in my posts, I was trying to keep it casual and to be honest? I didn’t think anyone even remembered me or the Woodruffs. So even though this ask hurt a little, I actually felt surprised and at least pleased someone knew my former content, lol. I’m still developing my new style, so please be patient with me! I think you will like it when I finally do gameplays and stuff like that because my sims are more than just kpop style 👍 please look forward to it! 😊

What’s your favorite sims death?

Sims 3.. Hmmm...now that I think about it I do, Victor killing all the one jerk that beat up his girlfriend.  Although the death it’self wasn’t much I was happy the jerk was dead.   Sims 4...I had one of my sims go over to another sims house who’s son had murdered my sim’s daughter.  I had him kill her with mortification/embarrassment.  It amused me and gave me some satisfaction.  And one save I killed Mortimer Goth by over exertion because I wanted room in the house and he was in the way.

Alpha CC or Maxis Match?

Sims 3 Alpha cc for sure.  Sims 4 Maxis match.  The two art styles of each game don’t always look good when used in game so I stick with what I find aesthetically pleasing and “correct” to me.

Do you cheat when your sims gain weight?

Sometimes when it’s taking too damn long to get their weight down.  Now if only there was an actual cheat in real life...I could seriously use it right now!

Do you use move objects?

Yes.

Favorite mod?

NRAAS Master Controller for Sims 3. MC Command Center for Sims 3.  I can’t imagine the games with out them.  Bonus mod: Shimrod’s “Everything is Fine” and the “Less smiling” mod.  Seriously.

Sims 3...uh...I honestly can’t remember.  The first store bought world I remember getting is Monte Vista.  I love that world, it is really beautiful.

I have only played TS3 and TS4 and I enjoy them both.  I would love to try TS2, I understand that it’s pretty awesome and has the better AI compared to the other versions.

No.  I do like watching LPs and Speed Build videos before going to bed, there is something relaxing about it and I will zonk right out.

Ah jeeze, there are several.  Sims 3 is InkWisteria (children’s hair), Cazy, Praline Sims, S-Club, Beaverhausen, Buckley, Brntwaffles, Rusty, kijiko..the list goes on. Sims 4: Most of the folks above, Ms. Blue, Screaming Mutard, LumiaLover, Kiarazurk, simplesimmer, ebonix, pinkzombiecupcake, Pyxis, RemusSirion, Golyhawhaw...the list goes on.  Seriously, I would have to copy and paste my mods folder.

How do you edit your pictures?

I use Picasa mostly to just adjust the contrast and sometimes the light.  I use SweetFx in TS4 so a lot of my editing is taken care of.  For TS3, I takes a bit more care.  

What expansion/game/stuff pack do you want next?

I own all the stuff for TS3.  For TS4, I own everything to date but what I am looking forward to is the Pets expansion.  This iteration is a different spin from the previous and I’m curious to see what they do with them and I miss having digital pets. I also want werewolves and witches added to the game.  So yeah...I’m waiting for a couple things.  I am not too worried about anything.

What expansion/game/stuff pack is your favorite so far?

TS3 I besides loving Monte Vista, I really enjoy playing in Bridgeport and Moonlight Falls, I like the store bought worlds a lot too.  TS4...it’s just stuff added to the game so really not quite as exciting as a huge open world to expand in.

Thankfully, this didn't work, because nobody's going to fire someone else over drama related to "The Sims". - Just this past week+, either one person, or a couple of people, decided to spam the comments of simsecret calling me names, insulting me, and generally starting drama. This got to the point that the owner of simsecret had to turn on I.P logging. {And for the record, no...I am not a moderator there. The owner's part of Dollhouse Mafia, and that's how we know each other. And no, I didn't ask them to delete anything. I told them to do what they wanted. And they did what they did because people crossed the line. Sorry conspiracy theorists! } --------------------------------------------------------------------- All of this, just because I shared why paywalls are bad for the community. Apparently someone is so worried about losing their "hard earned money" {I say this with gigantic air quotes} that they feel that literally threatening the livelihood and sanity of someone else is the way to go. Honestly, I give no shits anymore. They've threatened my job, and that's the worst they can do aside from SWATTING, which would end up with them getting years in prison...so..that's it. They can spam the hell out of simsecret, but all it does is make people read my blog and read the points I make...so that's a dumbass move. And most of the time, the sock-puppets calling me out are from such fake-ass accounts it's super obvious that it's just a butthurt paywaller who has the intelligence of a prepubesent teenager {and the spelling skills to boot! I find it interesting that it’s always content creators who complain about people “stealing” aka sharing purchased pixels from them when they turn around do illegal actions themselves. Sharing people’s personal information with other content creators on patreon is breaking one of their security rules but some of you want to cry about people sharing your content?

You guys always take it to far, the doxxing, harrasement, and sharing personal info that could literally ruin someone financially beats your hurt feelings over someone uploading a package of your broken/high poly cc. You are messing around with people’s lives over a game that you don’t even own the rights to and it absolutely ridiculous. As for the people who run to kiss content creators ass, what are you getting out of it? Are you getting free cc? Do they become your life long friend? Do they call to check up on you when you’re sick? Did it shave 10 years off your life? Are they paying your rent? what is it giving you? Cause the people who buy their content and sharing with the rest of us are helping you from these greedy ass content creators who don’t care about you but just your wallet.

So as far as I’m concerned, if this type of behavior is okay from content creators, then by all means keep sharing their content. If you bought it, you can share it. So if content creators like Slephora (which is funny cause their name is a play off sephora, putting an L doesn’t change the fact you ripped it from Sephora) are publically telling people they are going to share people’s personal info with others, screen shot it and send it to patreon. You can check their security page here and you can email them at security@patreon.com. If you feel like you’ve been wrongfully blocked by a content creator(s) and you find yourself being or have been blocked by multiple content creators out of the blue, then that is pure evidence that your information was leaked/shared and you can go to patreon and show/tell them that. A lot of times there are innocent people who are just being randomly blocked and having their information shared and that’s not okay.
