The KOSA bill, what it's going to do if passed, and how you can help prevent it from taking effect

KOSA will essentially erase anonymity from the internet by requiring people to upload their government ID or other form of identification to any social media site, as well as restricting resources and information on LGBT rights, history, racism, and more. This bill will censor the entire internet and destroy privacy while violating First Amendment rights and potentially putting minors in danger.

This also could very well mean the end of Tumblr, and I'm not exaggerating here.

Tomorrow KOSA could be passed in Senate, and from there it will need to pass in the House of Representatives before being signed into law by the president. It's not doomsday yet, but it is a dangerous situation-- and here's what you can do.

StopKOSA.org provides you with a template email to send to your representatives. You can leave it how it is or edit it to say what you want, and then send it from their website.

The website also allows you to call your representatives and gives you a template of what to say.

BadInternetBills.org, run by the same people, takes action against KOSA as well as other bills like EARN IT. At the time of posting this, over 356,000 people have signed this petition.

Additionally there are several petitions on change.org to help stop KOSA. Here are a few of them.

One last thing-- The evolution of AI images and video.

I don't really have anything good to say. AI is evolving fast and changing the world as we know it. We are adapting, but nobody knows how this really is going to end up.

A few quick points:

AI images are not art. That's all. AI "artists" who genuinely claim to have made something of their own just by typing a prompt into a generator will be blocked. (Which has been in my rules for a while, but I still think it needs to be said.)

I recommend Glaze for artists who don't want their art being scraped and used for data training. Especially with the recent rumors of an upcoming deal between Tumblr and Midjourney. There's also a similar program called Nightshade (haha, earthspark reference? anyone?🦉) that I haven't tested myself but have heard good things about.

Doomsday Delivery

A new set of defaults to celebrate the new Fallout TV show. You now get pizza with more questionable textures for the apocalypse. The meshes for the pizza and slices are from @jacky93sims incredible pizza default.

You also get the Fusion Flea as a default delivery car. It's roughly 9K polys for the entire car. You also get a buyable clean version of the car and a buyable post-apocalyptic dirty version as well. Unfortunately, the doors of the car do not work because this car's door is supposed to lift upward so it was too taxing to animate. Sims have no issue sitting in the car and using it otherwise, however.

Instead of Chinese Takeout, you're now getting leftover Communist rations from China before the war. Rations go well in just about every post-apocalyptic story. They still use chopsticks. Inside of the cans are yummy Dan Dan Noodles.

You'll also see on the pizza guy, the default outfit replacement as well. Pizza delivery is green-themed and Chinese food delivery is red-themed.

right, Elias, I don't hate him but I'm not fond of him either- neutral right now. He doesn't seem malicious or anything though but for the Magnus institute he seems like a weirdly normal boss so far and it's got me on edge. All in all tho, don't care much for him yet, tho I think he knows more than he's letting on.

Jane motherfucking Prentis. God I both hate and love her, she's interesting and I want to know more about the rot and whats happened to her but on another note I hateeee her and her wormy holey skin it's just no. I don't think she's dead, im not even sure she CAN die but regardless I don't think she's dead, tad anticlimactic if she is, I think she might be injured but not dead especially with her whole rot and decay thing that's going on.

Gertrude Robinson

not much to say on her character, she's dead, but more so her death and I really really want to know more, especially the fact she was found shot which is so ??!??! It's such a 'normal' death I'm more concerned about that than anything else, and you still have the whole thing of her blood which makes me think it wasn't entirely natural either. Doesn't seem fully supernatural either tho I mean a gun? All this spooky supernatural stuff and it decides to just shoot her a few times? Nah. Nah I don't buy it, I'm placing my bets on joint efforts.

Tim Stoker

I totally did not forget to talk about Tim, definitely. I really like him tho haven't actually heard much from him yet though from his fucking "Statment of Joe Spooky regarding Sinister Happenings" I think he is absolutely going to turn into one of my favourite characters

What's Mamiya?

Iv never heard of it before

The full name is MAMIYA - A Shared Illusion of the World's End- it's a visual novel that is SUPER underappreciated and that I'm rabidly obsessed with. It's not explicitly romantic but it's structured similarly to a dating sim where each route focuses on a particular character and they all interconnect for the overarching plot. It's a bit hard to go into much detail but it starts with a funeral and then goes into the stories of the friends of the deceased, their emotional struggles, and a strange entity called Mamiya that's invisible to everyone but them. The first part is already released and the final part, DoomsDay Dreams will be out November 21st!

I absolutely adore it because I love being emotionally destroyed but there's also a LOT of heavy content so if you're thinking about reading and have any triggers I'd recommend checking the list for content warnings. This post does a much better job of summarizing things and has a cw link at the end if you need it.
