Hi writeblr!! Sooo, I've been around here since about 2014. (Yes, I am ancient.) However, I've been dormant for the past 4-5 years. Blame college and a brief stint on Twitter. Now that I'm active again, I thought I should make an updated writeblr intro so ppl know my Deal. Basically, I want to engage with other folks who write fiction (esp original SF), and that's a little easier if I have a clear post that outlines what I do. Character-oriented political drama set in a pseudo-Victorian, dystopian oligarchy where everyone's heart is made out of metal. It's about coming of age and discovering queer identity in a world that is absolutely fucked. God is an extraterrestrial lesbian who gives ppl very traumatizing magic powers. There are cyborgs, shapeshifters, and morally gray women in STEM. It's tight as fuck idk what else what to tell u.

Book 1 is about achillean monarchists, and book 2 is about sapphic anarchists. There are only two genders, I guess.

At this point, I've drafted most of the books at least once. Working to refine a lot of raw material atm!

Lost Letters – Book

Aka the current active HoL WIP, and book one in the revised series structure

Length: 80k as of now; around 120-140k when the first draft is finished, I presume.

Genre: adult fantasy, gothic, noir detective drama?? um?? If you want me to frame it in BookTok terms (why?) it's a dark academia villain x villain tragic romantasy. Hrgh.

Summary: Cyborg soldier goes to college, joins a shady socialite frat, and falls in love with the jilted heir-apparent to the throne. Hilarity ensues.

(By "hilarity," I mean a militant revolutionary faction and a tragedy of Greek proportions.)

POV characters: Charles (the cyborg), Dale (the heir), and Cecelia (Charles' sister, a junior detective, the love of my life and potentially the Chosen One???)

This book is twisty and dark and immensely fun to write.

I'm about halfway through the first full draft! Hoping to share snippets and vaguepost about my children here.

This one started out as a short story (100% finished) which I want to expand.

man I'm going to rant that I'm currently screaming into a pillow about IRL family dog business destruction

I've been a part of this for 6 years and it has been slowly eating itself alive since my brother's wife started cheating on him 3 years ago. she's the co-owner. cheating [redacted] has been in and out of the business pretending to be very nice to employees and the next day ghosts everyone and doesn't give updates, and I'm stand-in manager atm. supplies? bad employee meeting? schedules? tips? payroll? fuck if I know if its been done or not! I never FUCKING know! and then. she's been laundering the money. on top of missing comptroller's calls (refuses to give my brother the number for redirecting/not giving passwords), not helping my brother with W4s, hiring random people, and she's working at another dog place and stole clients, which is illegal. and lawyers cost money. and he can't get divorced until this is done. and supposedly, my brother overheard her plotting and waiting for the business to fall apart so my brother would sign over his half, since her pedophile uncle is an actual lawyer. oh, and that's a whole other story. he actually has a website dedicated to other people who've been assaulted by him, but because he's a lawyer........:))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) there's so many other layers that I have yet to even talk about but fuck, man. my brother has known his soon to be ex-wife for over 10 years. there's no lesson out of this besides what the actual fuck

What has Stefan been up to while I've been too busy this summer with rl things? Helping his cousin set up a cafe in Ishgard. (It was his excuse for being nearby when he went to Story Hall. :D)

Lothaire decided he needed a safe place his mother or anyone she hires would not likely look too closely at. As well as he wanted a safe space for people like Alexois if they have work to do in Ishgard. (Remember Alexois is an assassin known as the Jackal of Coerthas.) The door to the back safe rooms is hidden from the average person and spell locked (courtesy of Stefan) against anyone with ill intentions towards anyone written on the safe list. (Hope you like being turned into a frog if you trigger the spell.)

So Lothaire got both Bran and Stefan to help him with the setup of the business front. Lothaire is good with numbers and can easily run the business as he was trained since he was young to handle the family business of the Aurifore. (He just doesn't want to deal with the black market like his grandfather and father. He wants to actually earn his money in better ways.) However he wanted the help of Bran and Stefan with picking out books, furniture, and sweets for the cafe. As well as overall look of it. He intends for coffee and tea to be free but the sweets and other specialties cost money. Books can be enjoyed there or bought to be taken home.

This also gives Lothaire a safe place to spend time with his older brother, Lancefer.

Why does he allow an assassin to use this as a safe hideout? Alexois helped save his life. As well as Alexois and Lancefer used to be friends a long time ago. (Their friendship is on the mend atm.) Lancefer might not have survived his trauma without his friendship to Alexois. Plus Alexois is an assassin with morals. (He won't kill women or children. Only exception to the women is if they are abusing people or trying to kill him. Trust me he's more than tempted to kill Lady Aurifore for her crimes against her own family.) So Alexois has more than earned Lothaire's respect and trust.

The safe hideout part might eventually include Asher in time. Possibly others of my morally gray characters. He got this idea from Alexois' wife, Sanagi. An while it's main benefit is for my own characters and a couple friends, doesn't mean other can't make a connection with my own kids an consider it their safe space too. (Please note the backrooms haven't been OOCly built yet. XD Coming soon.)

The house is located on Goblin. Empyreum Ward 25 Plot 59. I doubt I'll ICly run it myself (considering it's myself and 2 friends in FC). But it is NPC staffed if people want to use it for RP things. The upstairs is setup as the reading area with the cafe itself being downstairs (cause heat rises so it will help keep the reading area warmer against the chill of Ishgard). It's ICly owned and run by Lord Lothaire of House Aurifore.

Rich Spouses and Social Climbing - The Pitfalls

I always see posts on here from women wanting to become affluent. Which is fair. But what's frustrating is that 90% of posts are tips on how to land a rich husband.

Getting a partner with money is all very well and good. You don't want to end up being an ATM for someone with no drive to improve themselves. But a man's paycheck shouldn't be what you rely on.

A man can run out on you. He can turn abusive. He can cheat on you. I know a woman in real life, my mother's colleague, who dated a rich man and it ended miserably. She came here as a broke immigrant, got a job at a company, and started dating the millionaire founder, who moved her into his mansion and bought her all kinds of expensive gifts, including a luxury car. A pretty impressive hypergamy success story, right? Going from illegal immigrant to rich man's girlfriend?

Well, no. Her millionaire boyfriend was a jerk who beat her. Then one day he kicked her out, by bringing home a 19 year old he'd been cheating on her with who screamed at her while dragging her out of the mansion by her hair. The boyfriend gave the car and all the other gifts he'd bought her to the 19 year old. He also fired her from her job at his company (although she took him to court over that and won the case). He went on to marry the 19 year old and they had three kids, although they've since divorced.

My mother's colleague is in her 40s now. She's trying to get back with the millionaire who treated her so awfully and posts pictures of her yachting trips with him. But it's been many, many months and if he actually wanted a relationship with her again and to lavish her with anything more than inviting her on his yacht every now and then, he would have done it by now. Everyone just gossips about how pathetic it is that she keeps desperately hanging around this guy who not only obviously doesn't want anything with her beyond sex, but was also horribly abusive to her.

What I'm saying is, you can't depend on a man. Even if you meet that rich man who wants you as a wife or girlfriend, it could still crumble to pieces. Getting a rich husband doesn't guarantee stable wealthiness.

Neither does a rich wife. Sapphics, don't be complacent just because women usually don't overtly behave violently or adulterously. Sure, a lot of sapphics will treat you like a queen because in the small dating pool of women attracted to other women, they're very glad to have found another sapphic who's their type and who likes them back. But there are still plenty of wlw out there who will play you, or abuse you.

Don't rely on a spouse. You need your own money in case things take a thing for the worse, and you never know when they will. There are so many stories of women who married men who seemed to be the sweetest guy, but who changed eventually and made them feel awful. Is it worth it to be treated awfully as long as you have access to material things? Do you want to risk being suddenly left by someone and having no money of your own to fall back on?

Don't just learn about how to get a spouse with money. Learn about investing, making your own money, bonds, being financially literate. Get skills, a trade, an education, etc, so you can make your own money. Most of the women whose lifestyles are adored on here and who so many want to emulate, from Audrey Hepburn to Kimora Lee Simmons - they always had their own gigs and money! Landing a rich spouse and assuming their relationship would always go smoothly was not how they achieved their affluence - working hard on their careers was!

AHHH MY OBERYN FIC IDEA!

So all the grains of salt because I haven't fully plotted this yet, all I have is a general concept BUT here's the gist

Oberyn is one of the brothers of a major mafia family who has beef with the Lannisters, another mafia family after the death of his sister. These rival families are clearly working their way towards an all out war so Oberyn's father and Tywin broker a deal to marry Oberyn to a cousin of the Lannisters. The idea being the family tie will tamp down the conflict, etc.

But reader, the Lannister cousin, isn't any happier with this idea than Oberyn is. She's miserable in her family and might hate her cousins and brothers even more than Oberyn does. What starts as bitter hatred and distrust shifts toward reluctant partnership and, eventually (of course) love as the two team up to make the Martells the most powerful criminal empire in the region.

KEY MOMENTS I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO WRITING: Oberyn realizing that the pretty, sheltered Lannister cousin has a LOT more going on than he realized; reader realizing that no, Oberyn isn't going to murder her on their wedding night to get revenge for his sister because he's an honorable man, he's just going to make her come until her eyes fall out because dammit if they have to consummate the marriage he's damn well going to do it right; when a brother from a rival family says something remotely bad about reader and Oberyn has a "She is my WIFE and you will treat her with the respect she is due!" moment.

It's going to be an emotional slow burn but there will be more fucking in this than a lot of my fics have, I think? Because they will consummate the marriage on their wedding night and it's GOOD. Like it's REALLY GOOD. And Oberyn - because he's an honorable man - is like "I'm not going to cheat on my wife, even if she's my wife in name only" and so there's going to be some hate fucking in there. I can't wait, honestly lol it'll be fun.

I'm not entirely sure when I'm going to write this? It's in the mix for things I start relatively soon (I have Javi P., this, knight!Din Djarin and a bodyguard!Joel fic that are toward the top of the list atm) but it's on the way ❤️

Tw domestic violence

All of this sounds like a racist cliche, I try to be as vague as possible, to not strengthen this feeling, but it still does and I am sorry.

I don't want too much help from you, I rather need to get this off my chest.

I live with my mom in a house with several apartments and a new tenant moved into the apartment above ours. We don't know very much about him, he's in his 40s, has a great career and either he or his ancestors are from abroad. Some weeks after he moved in, he went back into his/his ancestors home country for 2 weeks, married and came back with his wife. She's in her early 20s. She doesn't speak our language (though she's learning it atm) and only very little English. Because of that, we (as, the house community who does meet for picnics etc) don't know her and don't see her very much. My mom talked to her a few times (she adores my moms dog) and said, she's a very nice woman (and my mom is racist, especially against that womans home country, so that means something).

For an uncommon long period of time, we heard noises we thought were "moving in" noises (though I doubt it in hindsight). But one day, we heard her screaming too. Our walls are very thick and it isn't always clear what is loud talking/arguing, and what's yelling. But she yelled, for several minutes, and she yelled "help" in my native language. Accompanied by the kind of noise you'd expect, given my tw and the context.

I asked my mom, what to do (since she's abusive towards me and I am not allowed to do anything without her ok) and she was undecided, until the noise stopped. I have heard that woman several times since (including this evening and yesterday) but again, I can't tell if she's arguing or yelling. It has never been nearly as bad as that one afternoon. But I don't feel good about it.

My issue is, that I have severe social anxiety and don't leave the house. Simply going upstairs and talking to her, introducing myself, is absolutely impossible.

And I feel bad about this whole situation. I feel like I should do something (given the language barrier, idk if she could even seek for help, if she decided to) but I don't know, what to do, that's not limited by my mom or my mental health. And on the other hand, I am unsure if I should do anything. Nobody asked me for and maybe she doesn't even want help. Is it my business before someone asks for my help?

Anyhow, I feel guilty for not helping.

I'd really like to hear a bit more about Helios, like what's the basic plot?

I'll try my best to summarize it <3 Helios a temp title atm (it doesn't rly fit since I've moved away from a number of old concepts) but it works for now! This is gonna end up being long cuz I can't keep things short but anyways... Basically. There's a ancient kingdom that was ruled over by Solomon, a warrior-king who wished to replace the world's old god's with Zolfried, who he worshiped. This led 2 a long and terrible war- Solomon conquered much of the world, tho a pause during the invasion of Illyria (mountainous and arid, in contrast to the climate of his own home which was very snowy) gave Makeda, his wife, an oppurtunity toooo... murder him <3 Strangely enough, this story ends here. What happens in the period of time after Solomon's death and before the start of the current "modern" world is almost a complete mystery. Such a huge, turbulent period of time, and yet there are almost no records. This mystery of course has become a source of fascination for the modern era as u can imagine.

And in the modern era, after flooding uncovers some bedrock on the coast of a town called Psamathe, an ancient grave is discovered; and it turns out the body buried here, mostly intact, belonged to someone who would've been alive during that era of mystery. Famed archaeology Neftali (I have like one doodle of her) brings this corpse to her friend and scientist, Ysolt Haldyn (she technically has a design but I'm struggling with it), with a crazy idea... "if you've been able to defy death before" (because Ysolt has managed to thru the power of science), "maybe you can bring this body back to life. Maybe they'll remain some memories and we can just ask them what the hell happened" And so, Ysolt does, and shockingly the process works. They call the revived person Rhodon Emathion (Rose of Emathia, with Emathia being the country where they were revived). It's a true miracle! it's incredibly! ...Except the person who they've called Rhodon is uncooperative (understandably) and refuses to talk to Neftali or anyone else for that matter. Eventually, they are sent to stay with Diji, Ysolt's older brother, for their own privacy and also so they can just start to have a life of their own. More stuff happens after this of course but this is so long as is </3 Basically tho the premise is "death and rebirth are soooo complicated"

Hi. I'm here and I headcanon Mr. Moskowitz is just a really busy working man. Idk what job he'd have, I keep changing my mind lol. Regardless, I think that possibly him and his wife both bring in an income, again idk what job Mrs. Moskowitz would have either. That's all I got atm bc I'm running low on sleep and can't remember the rest of my thoughts on Hawk's parents atm

Considering Hawk lives in Encino, I assume they work white-collar jobs of some kind. And considering Hawk’s inability to get a positive male role model out of any of his senseis, I am curious about his father, but I really hold onto the belief that the Moskowitzes are perfectly average, loving-but-ineffectual parents. I still hold that once the show stopped caring about establishing the home life of the other kids like they did in S1/S2, that's when it lost some of its heart. And it was all for the sake of just making things convenient for the story, like something you'd expect out of lazy fanfic.

Especially since in Hawk's case it flies in the face of established canon. Am I really supposed to believe that the parents who did an internet dive on Johnny's rap sheet really had nothing to say about him getting his head shaved lmao? I can buy that Hawk managed to lie and omit his way out of the shit he pulled in S3, but you can't hide that haircut.

Just some ramblings because I have some ocs I need to work on and I don't want to forget about it. Also a few questions I did forgot about and I'm bad at communicating so this is my way of handling this.

The Sapiehas

Their birth years and overall existence don't make much sense because I fucked up when I decided on Gabriel's birth year making him like 10 years olden than the rest of HPHL mcs so let's just pretend that it makes sense in the end ok.

CJ — 3 years younger than Gabriel, Hufflepuff, because his father died when CJ was barely 14 he grew up idolising him and resenting Gabriel for always rebelling against his rules. CJ ends up following Joseph's footsteps and becomes an auror and also just like his father developing a problem with alcohol. He would either have a wife he does not care for or just stay single apart from some meaningless relationships. He dies from alcohol poisoning at age 34.

Margaret — 2 years younger than CJ, Ravenclaw, INFP, lesbian. The fact that her brothers never stopped fighting broke her heart. If I could find her some love interest it would be fun because she deserves it but I'm also tempted to leave her to be a spinster and also the coolest aunt to Gabriel's kids. Or maybe both. Either way she wouldn't have any kids on her own.

Jojo & Elisabeth — because of my dumbass decision to make Winnie's birth year 1905 that would make Jojo & Elisabeth's birth years 1901 & 1904 respectively. Also @beloved-bucky I know we've been talking about them and how they would make cool fantastic beasts ocs but as I said I'm shit at communicating so it got dropped. Since I shamelessly already took Winnie my question is – would you like to take one (or both) for yourself? I know I can be shitty when it comes to collaboration so I thought it might be easier to just split and develop them separately? If you want? Or just drop all the ideas about them at once and maybe then try to make sense out of it?

Mallory & The Rosiers

They're all just a bunch of random ideas plastered on a faceclaim rather than fleshed out characters but I'm working on it. Also @cursebreakerfarrier are we content with Toby and Winnie having two kids or do we want more?

Mallory Brokenshire — born 1931 to Winnie & Toby, 2 years younger than Jem, slytherin, INTJ, owns a potion shop on Diagon Alley. Again because I'm a dumbass and can't do math she would be only 20 when her daughter is born but I could totally see Tilly just hanging out at the potion shop for half of her childhood. I'm more concerned about how on earth would she have a potion shop by that age but maybe grandpa Gabriel could help with that.

Sterling Rosier — around 4 years older than Mallory, Pukwudgie house alumni, freshly finished with his Healer training when he comes to England to reconnect with his family there. He and Mallory meet in her shop when he has to run errands for the hospital. Then he ends up coming there for stuff he doesn't really needs and less than a year later they're already engaged. He is a sweetheart tho so I might kill him prematurely >:)

Leland Rosier — Sterling's brother, I'm not sure atm what's their age difference but I'm tempted to make them twins. Basically everything about him is tbd

Victor Rosier — Sterling's father, probably born sometime around 1901 but I'm not sure yet, his family moved to USA when he was 5 or so and he is a Thunderbird alumni. He works as an Auror and he used to be Tina's partner before she was dismissed. I will probably open him for ships if anyone's interested but keep in mind that he has to have at least two sons.

Evangeline* Rosier — a pretty big timeskip here because she would be a golden era oc. Either Harry or Ginny's year. She would be Evan & Felix's sister and she would be a Hufflepuff. Idk much about her for now, I might give her a ship with canon character but I'm not sure yet. She's the best tho.

The Parkers

Tilly Brokenshire-Rosier — not much going on here tbh, she's Mallory and Sterling's daughter, Lizzie's mother, a gryffindor and a professional Chaser, although her career is cut short when she gets pregnant and then her husband and step-son dissappear in mysterious circumstances and well everything goes to shit.

Anthony Parker ��� he's a cool guy who doesn't have much luck in life, his wife left him with a little kid and he has trouble with keeping his shit together, I'm not sure how he meets Tilly yet but they're the sweetest and she instantly loves Jacob and they're so happy together. Until they're not. He is a Hufflepuff and a magizoologist who specialises in winged horses.

Back again with another vent post but also hoping maybe someone could help me out.

Long story short: I got denied twice at a credit union bank and they couldn't tell me why and I don't know what to do now

This whole situation is just so frustrating since I was really counting on being able to open a bank account so I can start trying to earn some money by doing art commissions and or selling some things i don't need.

And this specific credit union was in a super convenient location for me too. The only other credit union that I know of is over an hour away from where I live (they have atms near me though apparently). But I don't know if they will even accept me so I don't know if the trip will be worth it. I mean, I guess I can apply online and see if this one accepts me but what if they don't?

I just feel like I've been screwed over. I have zero experience in any kind of adulting since I've basically been a house wife for most of my adult life and I feel like I've just been thrown aside. From being made to move across the country before I was even ready to move to basically being kicked out and sent back without any time to really process or organize anything beforehand. I've basically lost everything and I don't see how I'm going to make it with no experience or anything. I'm too disabled to drive and probably too disabled to even work assuming anyone is even willing to hire me with no experience or college education. And I don't really have anyone to really help me aside from my parents but there's only so much they can do. My mom can't really help me with this stuff and my dad doesn't seem to k kw as much as he claims to.

I just don't know what to do. My dad is saying I should just go to a regular not credit union bank but I don't know if I want to. I've only ever heard bad things about for profit banks. I don't know anything about any of this and it's so overwhelming and I just wish I had some help

I feel like this answer requires some level of context from my personal batverse I've been developing since I was like 16 or so. IIRC Eddie Riddle Boy is the one who usually gets abusive PARENTS, and typically Crane's given the bullying backstory. I'm not looking at a source atm though, so I could be recalling something only true to like the cartoons? Spare me.

I decided Crane had the fucking worst little childhood when I was working with it. I did that for most of the rogues though. Except like Joker and Freeze. Joker because I have largely left his past an undecided mess (though that kind of plays into his plight when I write him,) and Freeze because I really do love the idea that he's just some dude with a wife he loves. He's probably the normal one all the other rogues have to come to for a "give me a more civilian perspective not colored by trauma" question. (Questions I'm sure do come up at least occasionally.)

His dad was shit, his mom was shit, his school-life was shit, and he just kinda grit his teeth through it. Even college was kind of shit, and I mean! That's where he met this canon's Strange! That's where they started getting high on betas of fear toxin together, entering a mutually toxic dynamic--becoming "hand in unlovable hand" whether they wanted to or not.

I really just kinda decided he couldn't catch a break!

But.

In a world where that all wasn't necessary development for how he is in current times: I'd have at least wanted to go back and let him have a childhood. It's such a unique time. You can age regress, but you can't get it back. Being small and undeveloped and untainted with whatever society is going to thrust upon you--there are so many children who do not get childhoods. Who have that taken from them by force. By society, by parents, by anything.

In a world where I wasn't the author, but I was some time traveler trying to ease the sting of current day...

I'd at least give him a better home life.

I think if you sat Crane down and asked what he'd do for Zacharie pre-Strange-and-faer-getting-together, he would need to actually think about it. Though he'd be tempted to say he'd give faer some way to perceive and tell time, he isn't stupid. He knows how offended by that notion Zacharie would be. Fae doesn't view that as something that needs fixing, and Crane would not overstep that. He has limits. (Albeit, they may seem odd to outside observers.)

His answer (again, before Zacharie makes faers grand escape and holes up with Strange,) would probably be that he would've wanted faer in his care a hell of a lot sooner. They have maybe a 10-ish year age gap, so that wouldn't account for a childhood of dealing with Everything--by no means. But it would mean fae would at least have some sort of psychiatry at faers fingertips to deal with that childhood sooner.

Post Zacharie's running off...

He'd probably tell you he should've killed Strange back when they were dating in college, and how that would've saved both him and Kronos a lot of grief.

My Strangetown 03-02-2023

After roughly 1 season in each household:

(playing ts2 super collection for mac bc i want to play on my laptop / can't be assed to troubleshoot ultimate c right now lolz)

i borked up the play order so a couple things weren't ideal. I think I'll eventually switch to a more wants-based playstyle, but for now I want them to do things I want them to. I do let them do a lot of things autonomously though.

Curious:

Pascal - gave birth to fem!Tycho. made an autonomous first move on Nervous, and ofc they fall in love so very easily lol. Pascal took Nervous's last name unfortunately. there're enough Curiouses in town so oh well. He got demoted for a chance event where he stood up for himself and then got the want to quit his job (which ended up being a positive memory so) I don't know what to do with him in those regards.

Nervous - Nervous and Pascal got married before any Beaker household shenanigans could even occur lol sorry no angst. Nervous being a family sim is having a pretty good time atm, I've kept the 'adopt a child' want locked that both he and Pascal have had since getting married, but I'm waiting until after Vidcund gives birth to bring another fuckin child into the house. (yeah Vidcund hasn't even given birth to his initial child(ren) and Pascal and Nervous are married and live together don't talk to me)

Vidcund - is doing some very helpful autonomous childcare for Tycho, so I think he'll be a better papa than I ever anticipated him to be. I did force twins and I'm really hoping for girl/boy I want to name them after his paternal grandparents Zo and Notzo because it's hilarious and the names kinda fit alien vibes? (I've seen people who have a single female baby name her Violet which is everything tbqh!) For now no romantic interests. Maybe he can become the resident 'gardener' heh heh heh.

Tycho - green baby :) is p high values for personality except is lazy (2/3 points) just started toddlerhood!

Nervous and also Vidcund maybe? had wants to adopt a kitten/pet so they have a kitten named Grim. Little s/o to Nervous's heritage m'pose.

Curious

Lazlo - I'm sowwy I married him off to Crystal and moved them downtown so fast bc i wanted more room in the house. I do slightly regret it but hey Lazlo invites himself over all the time. I wish I could get him his little hydroponic weed garden back since he left it back home. Also Crystal had given him a hot tub from their incredible date -- which had ended in woohoo and Pascal setting the kitchen on fire at the same time lol. His lifetime want is to reach the top of the scientist career but idk if that's really in line w his character aha.

Crystal - is a senator??? in my save. which is.. funny since ya know. Lazlo is a grimy little pothead sillyman. I need to spend more time with her to develop her character bc rn she's just some guy to me. I'm mad I made Crystal pregnant so fast instead of having them adopt a child later on in life.. oh well. (I made too many babies too fast bc I haven't played ts2 in ages and got overexcited...) Tycho and eventual baby Nova the cousins ever.

Beaker

Loki - has become good friends with Lazlo from bringing him home from work. real strange duo, but I guess Lazlo is the only one who never tried to get with Circe lol. He spends a lot of time cooking for his epic wife, and did a lot when she was pregnant so that she didn't have to eat burnt tv dinners all the time!

Circe - unfortunately for her, she and Loki rolled 'have a baby' after they woohoo'd early on. So Circe has had to stay home from work multiple days, and I feel bad bc she constantly rolls the want to 'go to work'. She seems to be slightly inferior to Loki when it comes to autonomous parenting, but the baby hasn't been taken away so good job mumz. She has gotten that promotion she wanted and is on track to get plenty more.

Ceres - their first child was a baby girl. she's still a baby and i'm a vanilla player so I know nothing abt her yet! I hope they can have a boy Atom, but since Circe doesn't seem to want to miss work ever I might make Loki get abducted? idk!

Singles

Lola - god this household was a struggle to get moving bc there were no jobs available that they wanted ever. So after a few days Lola got a job in the law career! She's girlbossing tf up. Did I consider getting her with Ajay simply so her name could be Lola Loner? Of course I did. However!! Since the game doesn't start you off with enough gay people I take the 'beard' turnoff to mean she doesn't like men teehee.

Erin - "but wait," you just thought, "doesn't Erin also have the 'beard' turn off?" YES! welcome to my rarepair. Girlboss x girlfail. I'm obsessed with them. (They both had a lil chemistry w each other so i jumped on that. listen I'm pushing things but not totally forcing them ok??) She has not rolled a want to get a job since she first moved in now it's gone so she's just freeloading.

Chloe - was surprisingly the first one to get a job because the slacker career was what she wanted and it was available on like day 1 or 2. Not feeling super inspired by her atm. she's fulfilled 1/20 woohoo partners for her lifetime wish (which I rerolled a few times bc I want them to be actually fucking doable) she gets on my nerves bc she fights Erin and Kristen so goddamn much. And I should mention they live in 73 road to nowhere which is the most evil demented build ever it is so unpleasant to play in and is tiny but was all they could afford.

Loner

Kristen - was so desperate to get out of the house she eloped with Ajay ahaha... (I had to do quite a bit of cheating relationships to get them together bc they never wanted to come over to each others houses and had only met once before) I had originally planned for Kristen to go for ladies but she was so miserable at home. and I wanted Ajay to pair up with a Singles lady but not Chloe (for now..) She also had joined the athlete career and got fired the first fucking day bc of a chance card like it was so bad. She's now in the medicine career bc it suits her personality/skills? I don't like how it kind of all goes against the tiny amount of character background she's given, but whatevs maybe she'll become an all-star athlete later. (Maybe she'll also realize she's not meant to be married to a man)

Ajay - literally just some guy. in the business career. has impregnated Kristen bc again, I got too excited about pairing people off and creating offspring. I'm not rly sure what I'll name this baby or why I'm having it. Maybe I'll get them taken away by social services and the Smiths can adopt to fulfill their family aspiration desires ooh. I think he might cross paths w Chloe a couple more times, hookup perhaps... destroy the marriage perhaps)

Smith

Poltech 9 - I call him Pete/Petey (PT) for short sometimes. He spent like 3/4 days straight only rolling 'adopt a pet' wants and I wanted to tear my hair out bc I adopted a cat and dog both for the family but he wouldn't stop rolling it. But all the family related events gave him a lot of aspiration points and I got him the elixir of life bc I mistakenly thought this could age him and now-elder Jenny down so they could have more kids but now they're both old and both have the "have 10 kids" want. which I want to give them!! so now they're gonna be adopting hella kids.

Jenny - She's newly elderly. Hasn't retired yet. I think I'll get her one more promotion before doing so. She does more parenting because PT9 can only just barely manage to take care of his own needs. (He doesn't even work!!) I wish I could've given her the elixir of life before she aged up :'-( so she could have more kids w her mans. everytime one of them enters the room as the other they get the little heart-y thought bubble and fan themselves. they're so in love.

Jill - she aged up with one of the outfits with a spiky collar lol. I guess she misses Johnny and this is how she expresses it. She's a popularity sim bc I hadn't made any rules for myself yet. Might change it to knowledge? she's just the little silly so I'm gonna let her explore her teenaged times.

Abhijeet - adopted child numero uno. So much for J names! or names with any connection to the family at all lol. I accidentally let the adoption popup time out but I wanted a child anyways. He's been here for like 1.5 days and I don't have a feel for him yet so we'll see!

Heidi - (named after an irl dog friend of mine) black large doggy. first pet adoption. she works in service.

Red - (also named after a real cat) was a red(orange) kitten but aged up and is now black?? so... Don't I look dumb...

Smith

Johnny - of course is an adult now. he wants to be a rock legend, so he's working towards that. He lives downtown with his now wife Ophelia. (they wanted to get engaged immediately okay they're super in love okay?) They live downtown bc I thought it suited the two of them.

Ophelia - is now a Smith. I'm kind of sad the Nigmos name is now totally gone, but i'm trying to honor her family other places. She aged up and immediately had aspiration failure because she had seen a ghost the day before and didn't go to university (I'm sorry you never rolled the want / I kind of forgot) All the "grew up bad" memories with Olive line up with this though! Ophelia had a horrible pregnancy, constantly exhausted and always needing to eat 2/3 servings of food in a row. I ultimately do think she's happy though bc she's living with Johnny and is away from Olive's ghost party.

Willow - the baby was a girl! (which makes 3 girls so far??) I thought it'd be really sweet to name her after Ophelia's late mother and only a couple minutes later did I realize I named this child Willow Smith lol. It's fine it's cool (I think irl Willow Smith is kind of Johnny x Ophelia core actually?? brand new sentence lol)

Specter

Olive - uhhh she deadddd... she started dying literally as Ophelia was doing the moving out sequence so I got the fun "you have killed off all your sims in this household bozo" popup. She sent Nervous a whopping 2000 simoleons of inheritance!! The Specter estate is now vacant.. maybe one of Nervous or Ophelia's descendants will move in years down the line. She died with plat aspiration so that was cool. Because she actually likes seeing ghosts! (ahem Ophelia cough ahem)

Grunt

General Buzz - as soon as I loaded in the lot he was playing with lil Buck and having a grand ol' time. He mostly just goes to work and comes back home. Haven't had any real luck or inspo with developing outside relationships (maybe he'll be one of Chloe's flings lol) He did get a 50,000 simoleon bonus for evaporating an asteroid about to collide with earth so that was pretty sweet. I need to figure out how to spend it lol.

Tank - is now waiting to go to La Fiesta Tech in the bin. He mostly just wanted to impress his father and fight Ripp. I think Ripp actually beat him though.. I'm probably gonna set him up with that one La Fiesta evil gay twin because they are silly and cute!

Ripp - is such a good brother to Buck, they get along so well without any effort on my end. Which is good for him since he isn't friends with Tank or Buzz, and Ophelia and Johnny are adults living downtown. I want to get him with Jill Smith, but of course they keep playing phone tag with each other. Soon... I guess I'm trying a lil too hard.

Buck - what can I say, he's just a little guy. He did make his rounds in the obstacle course outside thanks to dad, and is still doing very well in school. He likes Tank, loves Ripp, and he also loves General Buzz I think. I suppose he's a little softer on him since he's the baby of the family and last child Lyla left him. The game immediately had other plans for the whole "he wonders why his father never seems to notice him" thing, but maybe that'll change. No idea what his future holds.

I spent like at least 2 hours writing all this, I'm gonna start a spreadsheet soon probably. Also need a more organized way to write summaries for these characters, but at least I've written it somewhere i.e. here. Time to not give my back a break and spend the day hunched over my laptop again.

when it came to finding escobar, most were resigned to not taking days off. whether someone was talking about the search bloc or american dea agents, they didn’t see a difference in the sentiment. it would get to the point where both organizations had to force their men to take days off to keep them from burning out.

on the chopping block today were steve and your horacio.

your husband came home upset about the forced day off the night before, hating the fact he felt sidelined and nearly discarded. but with a gentle smile and a loving kiss, you begin to remind him what sort of perks await him with an entire day off.

when you’re laying in your bed, horacio’s arms right around you, you continue giving him the logic behind his government-assigned day off. “even god took a day of rest after creating the world, mi alma. you are not above the needs of man. you need to be taken care of, too.”

horacio’s reply is cheeky, a grin making another rare appearance on his lips. they seem to happen a little more around you, when he’s safe at home. “is that not why i have you, amor?”

“you know exactly what i mean, horacio.” you can feel the heat in your cheeks at his words and with your face laying on his chest, you know he feels it too. even after being married for six years, he still has the power to make you flush like he did on your first date. “let’s go to lunch tomorrow. our pantry is almost bare, and we won’t be buying groceries on an empty stomach.”

he presses a firm kiss to your temple, arms pulling you even more on top of him. “anything you want, dulzura.”

horacio will only slightly regret this decision the next afternoon. see, he didn’t know that agent murphy was also designated this afternoon off when he agreed to go out in public with you. after a few hours of blissful peace, he was disrupted by a shout of his last name by a too familiar voice. he knew you heard it, your head snapping around to try and find a familiar face amid the sea of people yet coming up empty.

desperately he wanted to ignore it but when the blond american agent made his way in front of the two of you, he was screwed.

there was a woman that horacio didn’t recognize on murphy’s arm, but common sense told him she was the man’s wife. vague memories spring to mind of conversations about her and the baby they adopted and thanks god that he remembers names or else this would have been awkward for everyone involved.

after some pleasantries and small talk, horacio “reminds” you of the next thing on your day’s to-do list (you knew him well enough to know he just wanted to leave, list be damned) with a soft voice and a hand on the small of your back. steve looked all too thankful for the out and while you and connie made plans to hang out soon, your husbands just stood waiting on you both like kids whose moms started talking in the grocery store aisles.

“it was nice to meet you both, have a good evening!” you called to steve and connie as you and horacio walked away, your husband’s hand on your lower back slightly guiding you.

“the same to you!” connie’s reply was almost lost to the noise of the city streets but you caught it in time to throw a wave behind you.

when you turned back around, horacio leaned and pressed a kiss to your temple without a word, squeezing you closer into his side as you walked. his job taught him that the spoken word meant nothing if you didn’t back it up with your actions, and this bled over into his personal life. he wasn’t the type to often use his words to reassure you of his dedication; his love was shown through acts of service and, when alone, physical affection.

the fact you were so casually being affectionate with carrillo, one of the most feared and respected members of the search bloc, threw steve for every loop imaginable. connie noticed her husband’s perplexion and asked if he was okay, wondering why the seemingly normal encounter left her husband with a massive question mark above his head.

“that was colonel carrillo, the one i’ve told you about.”

the blonde woman was not impressed with his explanation in the slightest. “and? is he not allowed to show affection to his wife when off the clock?” steve would offhandedly mention some things that happened at work if they weren’t too graphic or a matter of security, and he had described the colonel’s unbendable determination to free his country from pablo escobar and others like him.

steve sighs and shakes his head at the subtle hint. “you wouldn’t get it, honey. the guy’s usually got a stick so far up his ass that he has to pull it out through his mouth to beat people with it!”

the turn of phrase took the conversation on a detour, connie now laughing at the absurd image of the man she just met beating people with his ass stick. steve lost his train of thought enjoying the moment of peace that came with her laugh.

he was so going to tell javi about this gentle carrillo shit. what happened to the stick up his ass? just wasn’t natural.

if you’re a demon, he’d probably bring you out hunting and bonding with you, even if demons were said to have no kind of team work. of course he’s the king of demons he can bend that trope.

if you’re a human, he’ll take you out too, but to festivals or anywhere he could see that humans are having “fun”

he’d make it look like he doesn’t care, but trust me, he’d be more touchy than usual—the innocent and caring ones where he just holds you by your waist, or softly caress your cheek, and even holding you by the hand

he rarely does the latter well because he doesn’t like showing his vulnerability, but when he senses that you needed it, he wouldn’t even realize that he’s already reaching for your hand and tugging you somewhere he thinks that could cheer you up

bringing you flowers would be the usual too, or taking you out on a stroll. if there were any demon slayers to disturb the two of you, they will face his wrath.

There was a couple things in it that made me "hmm," but then this one line in particular made me wish I'd misheard it. But I did not. And now I'm very cautiously sitting with it trying to figure out what's going on with this one protagonist and if she's a mirror of the author's POV or if she's meant to be problematic and grow from it. But idk idk even if it's the latter, I'm kinda 😬😬 about the execution.
