So, just thought I'd ask: are there any C-list or D-list Spider-Man villains you particularly like?

I've got a long Spider-Man fic I'm outlining and I'm looking for villains I could throw in as a fun cameo here or there

There's two that come to mind looking over the list.

Slyde - he wears a suit covered in a space age non-stick coating that allows him to slip and slide out of or over anything, including Peter's wall crawling powers. He's one of those villains who gets undercut whenever he shows up but I legit think his powers have tons of cool potential. and

Doppleganger. Nothing super specific as to why I just think that there's a lot of pathos to be mined out of Peter having to face down his own powers and motifs twisted into a carnivorous monster.

so there's a few versions!

I wrote one where college!reader is a stripper!

and with kook!reader she got sick of rafe's bullshit and his posturing so she goes to jj for drugs and just never leaves

but for the standard version they did in fact meet at a party but she was notttt fuckin w him forreal even though she thought he was cute! especially because she knows who he is and how he's kind of a slut but he talked to her the whole night which is something he's not known to do. and she def was working some crappy hooters-esque job before they got together because she was supporting herself! her parents are not there, she's got a crappy 2 bedroom apartment with her friend and it took a while for him to broach the topic of paying for all her shit but she jumped on it fast best believe

love the way they introduced the Spot in the trailer, like this dude obviously just got his powers or is just learning how to use them (might be a callback to the effects of the first movie/particle collider there) he's so goofy and just drips with that c-tier villain energy.

can't wait for the scene where he finds out that there are infinite realities and all of his petty crimes mean nothing in the grand scheme of things.

Like I really hope that the focal point (and the person Miles is trying to save) is the Spot. Dude's got powers that could literally take him anywhere in the multiverse, or y'know, break it.

During the Initiative, when Hammerhead wanted to furtively undermine Kingpin’s territory, he tried to hire an intuitive pair of potential Science champs: the sticky guy Trapster and the slippery guy Slyde. Slyde is far too obscure to be a priority for the Wishlist, but he’d be a good obscure Champ, given his potential for interesting kit dynamics and the fact that he’s appeared more than a couple dozen times, including in an animated television show.

Currently debating on the name, though Sable and Salem are the top contenders. He's a weird mix of a sable and a canine, kinda reminds me of inugami from SMT
