Small Update About the Romance System

Hello! As promised, here's a post to inform you about some new clarifications and changes that I added to the original post about the romance system.

List of changes:

For my part, as an author, I point out that my content is not intended for minors, but even here it is my fault that they somehow still read it.

Let's blame Tumblr for not checking the authenticity of the information, or blame the parents who don't use "parental controls for this kind of content". Don't blame the content creators when the system of society itself can't control this issue.

Usually, you were the one who made Steven nervous, but at this moment, his brown eyes were so focused on you that you were almost trembling.

So close to asking him to forget everything and kiss you until both of you were tired.

alhaitham is the kind of friend you can just... sit in the silence with. it's not uncomfortable silence whatsoever—it's, on the contrary, rather comforting and calming. he'll let you sit right up against him if you so please as he reads a book of his. you want to take a nap on him? go for it, he doesn't mind. i like to think that alhaitham finds the weight and pressure to be soothing (neurodivergent alhaitham my beloved...). you want to read your own book? that's fine. maybe you're doing something else—crocheting, knitting, drawing, writing... he really doesn't mind. whatever it is you choose to do, you're welcome to curl up against his side while you do it.

collei is another one you can sit in comforting silence with. she finds it nice just to spend time with her friend! if either of you aren't really interested in doing anything in particular, or if one or both of you aren't feeling great mentally or physically, she's totally cool with sitting in the calm quiet and cloud-gazing together. if you do want to do something, however, she's up for that too! she would also take you on patrol with her, i think, even if you need special accommodations. she'll figure it out. if you want to go with her, she'll find a way c: she's also the kind of friend that would enjoy trading easy & convenient recipes with you.

cyno is definitely the card game friend. you will learn to play tcg. you have no choice. it is your fate. /lh but i also like to think he's a considerably protective friend! he's the one to ask all the questions if you let him know you're planning on going out. he wants to know all the details. are you going with someone? yes? who is it? where are you planning on going? he literally just wants you to be safe, so sometimes it might come off as overbearing or infantilizing, but he really doesn't mean it that way! he genuinely just wouldn't forgive himself if something happened to you that he could have prevented.

kaveh is the kind of friend you could stay up until atrocious hours of the night talking to. also 100% the gossip friend. he'll sit there doing your hair, makeup, nails, or skincare routine—regardless of your gender, whatever you're comfortable with! kaveh genuinely doesn't care as long as you're happy and content—and tell you all of the terrible awful drama he overhears. he's also somewhat protective, but not to cyno's level. he'll inquire about your plans and will then tell you to be safe and have fun! he would feel really bad if something happened, though. really bad. will definitely, 100%, without a doubt tell off any creeps bothering you. he can pretend to be your brother or your boyfriend, whatever you need. he'll do it.

nahida is the therapist friend, in a way. she doesn't completely understand human emotions and thought processes, but she is totally happy to listen to whatever you need to get off your chest! it helps her understand you and other people better, and it (hopefully) helps you feel better. her advice is a little difficult to understand, admittedly... she tries her best though! if you don't understand, feel free to tell her. she'll try to be clearer. it may or may not work, and she has a chance of making her point even more confusing, but she really does try.

nilou is the kind of friend who's happy to do activities with you. she's happy to do anything as long as it's with her friend! she'll take you out to the shopping (only for you two to inevitably return with a ridiculous amount of free gifts for nilou, namely from the grand bazaar vendors...) if you'd like, or she can get you guys tickets to some of her favorite performances! she'd also love to teach you her style of dance if you'd be willing to and are able to learn. if you're not able, though, that's okay! she really doesn't mind. i like to think she'd also be super supportive of you and all your pursuits.

the wanderer is, quite simply, the begrudging friend. he will NOT admit that he cares about you and will claim the exact opposite. he'll say that he absolutely does not care whatsoever (but will then, in the same sentence, berate someone for so much as glancing at you in a way he deems to be wrong). he's a bit emotionally inarticulate—and rightfully so—but he really does care. his ways of showing it are just a little odd and unconventional. he acts like every display of affection ever is such a terrible burden that should not have been put on his shoulders, but secretly really loves holding your hand or giving you a hug. also really likes being held. like. he would die before admitting that but he... he just needs to be held, you know?

tighnari is the kind of friend who tells you all sorts of things—he shares his knowledge so freely with you, it's sort of like a love language. he'll tell you all about the local flora, explaining what plants you could eat in the case of an emergency and what ones you should never even touch. also as his friend you are allowed to touch his ears and tail. imagine habitually fidgeting with them while tighnari doesn't even flinch because, as long as you're always careful and gentle, he trusts you enough for that kind of thing. i bet he is very soft. anyway, i can't explain it, but i just know his hugs are warm and comforting and protective. he definitely gives really good hugs.

You were only faintly aware of the noise around you.

The chatter of the city was a mere buzz in the back of your head as you marched down the street. It amazed you, really, just how unbelievably dickish mortal boys could be. This one in particular; Mike Schwartz, a five foot something jock who sat on the bench at every game. He’d been a bother in your life since you started high school. Back then, you took the endless prospects as a compliment – you truly were your mother’s daughter. It was a boost to your weak teenage confidence. 

But as the years went by, the constant asking for your hand became an irritant. Especially when they couldn’t get the hint – at fourteen, turning down guys felt amazing, but when those same guys kept coming back for more, it made your eye twitch. Couldn’t they take the first no, tuck their tail between their legs and fuck off?

Apparently not. 

After four years of putting up with it, you were done. Storming out of the cafeteria, grabbing all your things, hailing a cab and getting the hell outta dodge. Maybe you should’ve stopped to think — called your dad, taken a few deep breaths. But the harder you thought about it, after trying not to for so many years, you came to the conclusion that you would’ve ended up here anyway. 

Here being the peak of HalfBlood Hill in the middle of September. It was only slightly unusual, because when you usually arrive at the start of summer you get to watch the crowds of arrivals setting up shop at camp. Now, however, it was fairly desolate. Less people, you knew. 

It was also a split second shock when you stepped across the border and felt the drastic change in weather. From the cool breeze of the autumn air to the warm summery spring that camp was in year-round. A shift that made you pause, but you kept on down the hill anyway. 

Chiron was waiting for you on the porch of the Big House, and without so much as a word, gestured for you to follow him inside. He was fairly understanding of your situation, but made you Iris Message your dad and tell him of your decision. He, too, was more glad you were safe than angry you ran off. 

“We can talk about this when you feel like talking.” He’d said. 

So you’d done it. Finally, you’d gotten yourself away from the hey hot stuffs and the you seeing anyone baby?s. You were back at camp, you were where you were most happy. 

But you weren’t happy. 

Being a year-rounder, you’d discovered, was a lot less busy than being a summer camper. You got more days off, longer breaks between activities. You found yourself spending more time in your own company; something you never really got to do before. Most of the time you were with your siblings, or your mortal friends, or you were being hounded by some frat boy and their friends.

It took a minute to get used to the loneliness, but you did. You explored camp, found places you hadn’t seen before. A cute clearing near a stream on the east side of the forest, or a Satyr sanctuary on the far end of the beach. You read more books, you trained a little harder, you perfected six new hairstyles on your little sister Elena and Annabeth from the Athena Cabin. 

And yet, you were still pissed off. 

“Why?” 

Luke Castellan was a name everyone knew in this little corner of Long Island. One of the oldest campers, head counsellor of the rowdiest cabin, token tour guide for the new kids. Oh, and the best swordsman camp had seen in, like, three centuries. He was cute, that much you’d heard all around your cabin. But you’d never really held a solid conversation with him until you became a year-rounder. The fewer people around, the more you run into him. 

You’d been practising a few neat tricks with a dagger when he spotted you. Said he was there to train himself for once and that you wouldn’t even notice he was there. You did, though. Especially when he took his shirt off twenty minutes in. 

You shared a water break, he asked you why you’d transferred to being a year rounder, and you indulge him in the story. He was super nice about it too, which made you angry. Was Luke the only nice guy on the planet? 

“But at least you’re happier now, right?” He’d said. You weren’t, you told him that much. He gave you this knowing look you’d never seen on him before, and asked Why?

You shrugged, “I don’t know. I love it here, I do. But I shouldn’t have to uproot my entire life and bring it here just to get some semblance of peace. I shouldn’t have to give up my education, my friends, my dad, just so I don’t have to get harassed every day. It’s not even like my mom gave me anything to help combat it, either. She just made me beautiful and told me to deal with the consequences! I mean,” You let out a weak chuckle, holding up the dagger you’d been toying with, “This was a birthday present from a friend in Cabin Six. Not even my mother, who is a warrior herself, could bother sending me a weapon. They really don’t give two shits about us, do they?” 

He’d parted his lips, eyes shining with something, and looked at you through his bottom lashes, “No. They don’t.”

You and Luke grew closer after that. A lot closer. By the time summer rolled around and the rest of the campers returned, you were inseparable. Many rumours spread but you two ignored them in favour of sneaking into that clearing you’d found and talking in whispers about your hatred for the gods. Who cared if they could hear you? Let them. 

It was Luke who had come up with the idea to steal the bolt. A quick job, in and out, and maybe then they’d listen to what you’d have to say. But they didn’t — they did exactly what they always did and risked the lives of two young demigods and a satyr just because they couldn’t be bothered doing it themselves. Selfish — that’s what they were. They didn’t care about anyone —

“ — but themselves!” You glared at Thalia, who stood before you atop Mount Tamalpais with her spear in your direction. “I mean, look at your dad. He didn’t care enough to stop the monsters from killing you, oh, but it’s okay because he turned you into a damn tree!”

“This isn’t the way!” Annabeth yelled from afar. Her hair was twisted in a style you’d taught her how to do that first year as a year-rounder. It broke your heart that she couldn’t see how right you and Luke were. 

“Curse them, Thalia.” You said plainly, holding up your dagger. Half mortal metal, half celestial bronze. A gift from Luke. “Curse your father and his children. His brothers. Curse them all like they deserve to be cursed! They deserve to be toppled.”

 You tilted your head, looking at them all. Luke and your army were heading steadily up the mountain. If you could convince them now, there wouldn’t need to be a battle. 

“Where are they now, huh?” You raised both your arms, “You’re fighting for your life against a titan on a mountain and the only god who came to help out was Artemis? And that’s just because she was here already.” You scoffed out a laugh, “You should thank us, really, for taking her. Had we not, you’d be dead already.” 

Annabeth watched. You were unrecognisable in that moment — your face streaked with dirt and blood, curled into a dark sneer that any of your siblings would berate you for because of the wrinkles you’d get. You didn’t seem to care all that much, though. Not when Thalia was lunging for you and attempting to pull you out of the rage you were in. Not when her spear and shield were no match for your measly dagger and you went toppling down the mountain. 

The next time any of them saw you was in Manhattan — after believing you to be dead for a year and a half, it came as a shock when you emerged from the crowd of monsters. Your hair was hacked short, and one of your legs had been replaced with a bronze prosthetic. You fought with a ruthlessness none of them had seen in you before, whether it be because you were on the losing side or because Luke had given his body to the Lord of Time before you had the chance to tell him you loved him. You were still angry, and even if you hated Kronos, you didn’t hate him nearly as much as you hated the gods. 

When Luke died, you were kneeled beside him. Your face was dirty, your hair was knotty, and there was a dent in your bronze leg. He lifted a hand to your face, “I’m sorry to have to say this, but…you’re sorta beautiful.”

“Sorta?”

He grinned, and then he died, and you were filled with such unbridled rage that you pushed yourself down to the ground of Manhattan and tore through Kronos’ army with fire in your eyes, not stopping until Apollo got rid of your sight and forced you to calm down. You didn’t know if you’d ever be calm, since the only person who ever understood you just died in your arms, but you dropped your dagger and stomped your way back up to Olympus like a bratty child anyway. 

Zeus didn’t punish you for what you did, but he did say he’d be keeping a firm eye on you. You joined the hunters, much to your mothers disdain, and didn’t ever allow yourself to look back.

Sometimes I really want to read a short summary of what to expect from a game with a very particular description that CATER to my OWN SPECIFIC interests, so here we go.

what to expect from KINGDOM COME DELIVERANCE

Action RPG set in medieval Bohemian, with one fixed protagonist (Henry), first person only, fully voiced (all characters)

You play as Henry, the son of a blacksmith, and follow his journey going from a village boy to a warrior involved in the current Bohemian war between two kings

The main plot revolves around Henry's rise from his humble origin, and his drive to revenge after a tragedy befell his village

I would also recommend adding "A woman's lot" DLC which adds two full stories, and is quite long in content.

The game has a day/night cycle

Activities and travelling will cause time to pass

There is also a fast travel function

The world is quite vast, and I did not manage to explore it all

I did find the quest-map markers extremely annoying and difficult to navigate.

Make sure to listen to what the characters say (when giving quests or tips) as not all of the dialogue information is recorded in your journal

The specialization is divided in combat skills, and general other life skills (ex. horse riding, hound master, alchemiy, repairing clothes, reading, speech, hunting, drinking etc.) and you will get experience from exercising those skills or receiving training from experts

Henry's customization is only skills-related (what you train in), but skills do not have branching. This means that if you spend a bunch of hours training for everything you can maximize all the skills.

Fighting is quite slow (in my opinion) and is mainly divided in attack/parry and different combos of the two. You can also use a bow.

Some situations can be resolved with charisma and diplomacy

You will have to manage some of Henry's basic needs: repair his clothes, eat, wash, sleep mainly.

You can change Henry's haircut and his beard

There is only one romance, if you decide to pursue it, with Theresa. The romance is a series of dates and interactions that are available with story progression.

There is also a mini-romance scene with Stephanie

You can ride a horse

You can earn your own room through the story. If I am not wrong, one of the DLCs also allow you to get a piece of land/house, but have not played it (From the Ashes).

If you have "Woman's lot" DLC you can also adopt a dog (Mutt), who can follow you around (and search for treasure, attack enemies, alert you etc. when you upgrade your houndmaster skills). The dog cannot die, so no worries! (also, you cannot pet the dog)

There are secondary characters that are implied to be lgbtq

The rpg element is mainly in which quests you choose, how you answer and how you decide to complete quests, but the main story is linear (side quests instead tend to have multiple outcomes)

I recommend checking the list of timed quests, as some main and non main quests will bug out if you fail them (as in: you cannot continue the game. This happened to me with "On the scent")

The game can technically be played as a stand-alone, if you decide to wait before playing KCD2, or you prefer not to play KCD2

Trigger warning for depiction of sexual assault: There are at least two cases where an almost sexual assault is depicted. There is also a situation where Henry has sex with a woman while he is deeply inhebriated

plot? Henry, the son of a blacksmith, has to leave his village when tragedy strikes it. First simply trying to survive, Henry manages to become a main player in the war between two kings, and to get closer to recovering the last sword his father created. gameplay? action rpg, dialogue choices, quests with different outcomes characters? Multiple characters have a distinct personality in the game. Not just the main characters (there are many: Henry, Theresa, Hans, Radzig, Hanush, Godwin, Johanka, Stephanie) but also many secondary characters. The quests never feel "fetch and bring" sadness level? high (but the game can be quite humorous too) death? (under cut, spoilers)

Henry's parents die at the start, and most of the people in his village are also killed. If you play A Woman's Lot DLC a lot of graphic death and tragedy is also depicted.

i before have truly believed i am physically an animal, or can transform into one. I’m not diagnosed or anything, but I’m 99% sure that experience was a delusion. I did not know that at the time.

I can guarantee if i had been told ‘no, you aren’t’ I would have become extremely upset, and believed myself even more. i never told anyone, so it’s fine.

but if i had posted it online, would that have made me a p-shifter? i would not have said I am having a delusion because i fully believed it.

is the issue with p-shifters their predatory behaviour or the fact they claim to be able to physically shift (I apologise if you’ve already answered this, my brain can’t read well atm /gen)

It's kind of both. The predatory behavior is the biggest issue, but the "making physical claims they refuse to provide evidence for" plays directly into that both in the typical "this is a cult" sense that we usually think of with p-shifters and in the "you are posting extremely triggering content for people who experience delusions and refusing to tag it with unreality (because, of course, to do so would be to acknowledge that it's not objective, shared Reality, but instead your personal reality)" sense that babydog talked about more extensively on this earlier post.

But again: if you make physical claims about capital-R shared Reality, you have to be able to provide evidence for those claims; otherwise anyone can say anything and nobody can ever ask for proof. I'm not trying to demand that you (general you) "admit it's not real," because I know it is real for you, regardless of whether it's tangible to me. Acknowledging that it's not shared Reality is not saying your experiences aren't real. I know a lot of people treat it that way, and that's not fair to people experiencing delusions - but the answer is not "insist that it is objective, shared Reality actually and then get mad when people get prickly about that." It can't be. That sounds great in theory, but doesn't work in practice.

It's complicated, it's messy, sometimes it's gray. I'm probably going to care a hell of a lot more about a p-shifter who's actively trying to set up a "pack" or claiming they can teach people to p-shift than I am about one who seems to be minding their own business. But even when they seem to be minding their own business, "extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence" holds true when you're making claims that should be verifiable.

And if you're choosing to use the word p-shifter, you're choosing to associate yourself with that history regardless of why you're using the word, so yeah, I'm going to bare my fangs at you first and ask questions later, sorry.

In this post, I’ll delve into some topics that are pretty unknown around here - death and afterlives in the multiverse. What is it? What happens? Please make sure to read the note and enjoy!

ii. Note

Please keep in mind that all these things are experiences from me and several other multiverse explorers. I've already died around 50-100 times and visited way over 200+ afterlives in all kinds of reality concepts. Of course, it always differs in realities, but some basic things are always the same, such as the root of an afterlife and its purpose in a reality concept. This post is here to take away worries so you can be sure: death is nothing scary and never an end.

iii. Death

Let's talk about death - the end of a life. But really, no, it’s actually not. A lot of things happen, but even they are not ultimate. Death itself is not ultimate. There are as many realities where death exists as there are some where it doesn't. In fact, the topic of "death" around the multiverse is a heated debate.

Negative things like anger, worries, doubts, fear, pain, jealousy, and all these things are not natural. They are mostly (in this reality concept) a product of being human, and our subconscious mind always tries its best to keep them away from us. But still, they are part of some reality concepts, often the ones that the mainstream of awarenesses avoids.

It's the same with death. An awareness is not made to be gone. So, there are people saying that death is a terrible part of the multiverse, and there are people saying that death is, like the concept of "identity," a nice extra in some realities. Whatever party you choose, it's completely valid.

What Happens

Now, let's address the most important question: what happens when we die? What does that mean? We die, or at least our "life body" does. The body that breathes, drinks, eats, moves during our lifetime. It can die in many ways, because we get too old, have an injury, accidents, you know what I mean. The most common way is this one:

You die at some point, there is a moment where you 100% will no longer live.

This moment can be triggered by many causes, but whatever it is, the same thing happens.

Before your life body dies, you automatically spawn in an afterlife.*

*depending on the individual

That means you don't feel it, you do not suffer. When you reach the point where you won't live anymore, you'll just pop up there in your "afterlife body." The rest depends on the reality concept and the afterlife itself. This way, it's possible for you to experience life, death, and afterlife without worrying about such stuff.

When you get hit by a car would you suffer for the next 4 hours? No, you are already in an afterlife - gone before the car even touches you. When you are really, really sick and would definitely die at some point? Individual - some want to experience it (because of, for example, loved ones) till a few hours before they die, some do not want that, and some do without actually "being in their physical body" - that means that you can talk, think, feel, interact with everything but the sick, physical body cannot affect you. It will happen exactly how you want. Remember: your reality, your rules. But what happens after it?

Where Do I Go?

That is really individual. There is no "ultimate" afterlife and no "ultimate" even after you die. It basically happens however you want. Many here are afraid of "not being able to shift" in an afterlife. But do you know what? Theoretically, it is even easier than here in this reality, in this life, because there is nothing that can influence you. No physical circumstances, nothing. You'll shift from there exactly like in the rest of the multiverse, 100% instantly. So now that we've cleared this up, what are your options?

1. You die and just shift to the reality of your desire (NOT respawning). You don't have to spawn in an afterlife; you can also just spawn in your DR or wherever you want. There are no limits. You can also say you want to leave the 3D, also known as entering the void. Completely possible.

2. You spawn in an afterlife. Do not worry about stuff you don't want there. I'll talk more about this point later, but when you don't want specific creatures or circumstances there, they will not be there.

But what kinds of afterlives can you spawn in? The most common in this reality are religious ones (only when you are religious, so you won't be there unintended) or the astral plane (I do know that it is more complex, but that's it - the astral plane is just a bigger afterlife, nothing more).

Besides these two options, you can always choose anything else. You just want to be in a pretty paradise? You'll be there. You want certain circumstances removed from things you already know, for example, "heaven-hell," but everyone is super nice, of course, you can have it! There are no limits.

What Is There

But what is there now? A lot. Whatever you want. The most popular things here are probably gods, demons, angels, dragons, and spirits. But none of these creatures are something to worry about. Remember when I said, "as we know, negative things like anger, worries, doubts, fear, pain, jealousy, and all these things are not natural." This also applies there. No species is naturally evil or negative. No demon is naturally evil or negative. When I, for example, talk about gods, I like to use this example: They are just a species, like dogs and bees are animals. Very different but still the same in the root.

So yes, of course, a demon and a human are very different, but they are just species, like gods, like angels, like unicorns. Nothing special at all. Totally equal. If you want them to be evil (NOT assuming, genuinely wanting), they are. If you don't want it, they won't. That is a very easy rule for everything. You want heaven but only with Greek gods? This is exactly as valid and totally equal to everything else. An afterlife is as customizable as the reality itself, that means 100%. You don't have to plan everything in great detail; let it surprise you. There will never ever be something you don't want around.

iv. Past Lives

Let's have a last talk about past lives. Will you remember them? What can you find out? What if there's something you don't want? What if you are a completely different person? That is really, really easy to answer: you don’t have a specific "past life."

Reality is 100% customizable. Past, present, future. You control it all. There is simply no truth, no beginning, no ending in the multiverse.

It is exactly the same as having a comfort version of your identity. Yes, there can be something you like the most or feel the most connected to, but it is still never the "truth" because no ultimate truth exists.

Or let's put it the other way: EVERYTHING is the truth. If you want your past life to be in Hogwarts, it is TRUE, 100%. If you spawn in an afterlife and want to remember every single one of your "past lives," then you'll remember your life in Hogwarts.

You can fully customize your past, even this one. For example, you want to remember this life differently, certain things, everything, no matter what. And you spawn in the afterlife, or you shift, or whatever you want to, then you'll exactly remember that version of this life that you want to remember. This is then 100% real, 100% happened like this.

There are no limits. Absolutely none, never.

The next chapter is part 1 of 2 parts. I was planning to update today but after some thought, I thought it would be better to post tomorrow after i let this this post marinate for a little bit.

There are some things in the next chapter that I have never written before and it could potentially be triggering for someone. If you think trigger warnings spoil things for you, then skip this next few paragraphs.

I do not care about spoiling it in order to prevent someone from being triggered, so here are the content warnings mainly for part 2, but i wanted to give everyone enough time so they can choose for themselves if they want to continue reading it. Part two is where most of this takes place, but I still wanted everyone to be warned, even before posting part 1. This warnings will cover both part 1 and part 2.

warnings: nsfw moments, stalking, mentions of blood, hospitals, stitches, brief mentions of sexual assault. I don't dive too deep into that because it's not actively happening (nor would i ever actually write that) but it is mentioned.

How I feel about this character

This should be no surprise to anyone, but I adore her. #1 absolute favorite Genshin character, bar none. She's already an archetype I love (honorable lady knight torn between duty/family and her own desires, bonus points for blondness; see also, FE3H Ingrid), enough so that the friend who got me into Genshin lured me in with her ("read the manga at least until you get to Jean, and if you like her, you have to start playing"), and a lot of her individual characteristics are also deeply endearing to me. I am not rational about Jean. She is my beloved precious blorbo who can do no wrong and I will write out her flaws and make her perfect if I want to, and I will write her outmatching and one-upping the male characters who are supposed to be just as or more cool, and I will write her whump and fluff and hurt/comfort where everyone goes "oh we have been unfair to Jean, let us rush to care about her," and I feel no shame on any of these points. I am holding her up and showing her to everyone like a beloved pet.

All the people I ship romantically with this character

Okay, so, the thing about me is that I usually make my favorite character a fandom bicycle because I just like seeing how I think they'd interact with other characters I like? I have at least idle shipping thoughts about Jean and... so much of the rest of Genshin. But my primary ships for her are most of the other Knights of Favonius, particularly any combo, OTP or OT3 or OT4, of Lisa, Kaeya, and Eula, with some particularly energetic mental dabbling (less likely to make it on the page) in Jean/Ningguang, Jean/Rosaria, Jean/Diluc, and Jean/Sara. Those are probably the ones outside the OT4 and its permutations that I'm most likely to actively play with without some outside trigger or inspiration!

My non-romantic OTP for this character

See above, just without the kissing. That said, I think everyone knows it's Jean and Kaeya. XD And beyond that the platonic relationships within the OT4!

My unpopular opinion about this character

I... am not sure I have one? The people I choose to follow have Good Opinions, and I do not follow people with Bad Opinions so I don't know how popular they are (also I don't go into her main tag because main character tags get SO spammed with 'this character appeared once briefly in the background of this comic' sorts of tags. I follow individual artists and the rarepair tags). I like to think she could take Diluc, I guess? Who often gets presented in fanon and a little bit in canon as the Ultimate Mondstadt badass.

How I feel about this character

I like him! I have somehow ended up following and being followed by many Venti fans who love him much more intensely, and he's one of those characters I already like enough that I can be enjoyably swept up in that love, such that for the duration of the post I'm reading or the discussion we're having, I love him just as much. Then it goes back to 'sure, he's cool and I enjoy seeing him'. :> Which I definitely do.

All the people I ship romantically with this character

Venti isn't a fandom bicycle for me just because he's not in my top faves, but he definitely would have the potential if he was. >> That said, Dvalin, Zhongli, and Xiao are the only people I regularly seek out pairing content with him for; I enjoy incidentally seeing him with pretty much any of the world's other immortal/long-lived-non-human characters and all the now-dead past character's he's been with, and he's fun with a lot of the Mondstadt characters as well. Honorable mention to Jean/Venti for occupying the same mental space as Venti himself: a pairing I'm not personally invested in but, while I'm talking to @esmeraldablazingsky and/or reading their stuff, am temporarily 110% high-enthusiasm about.

My non-romantic OTP for this character

Broadly speaking, his various friends over the centuries and, currently, especially Dvalin, but I will admit that my Thing for Jean means that I am most fascinated with his relationship with her (the only person in canon who knows him in both his forms and is still respectful! I put "Venti takes the Traveler to Celestia, or at least gives them a very strong hint and boost" in a lot of my speculative endgame scenarios because I feel like there are hints in canon that it COULD be what happens, and I really really hope that it WILL be. It feels like how the narrative around him should pay off, to me.

Where I've Been

So, I am officially back from my hiatus. I'm planning to return to Tumblr at least part-time in the middle of college courses and work. (I got a new job!) I also am planning on launching my first business! I'll reveal the concept for it soon, I think it's pretty cool. I've got a lot of things going on, so my activity may vary.

Addressing The Elephant In The Room

My mental health has improved considerably. I've made new friends in college, and I have somebody in my life I can talk to about my dissociation and heightened emotions. Our experiences are both different, but it's nice to know somebody I can relate to. Offline and online, I haven't had to worry about the voices as much. They've been unusually quiet, which is a great relief to me. I've also noticed that I'm not getting triggered as much.

This probably has something to do with my change in environment. I'm no longer in highschool, which was a traumatizing place for me. I now have a job that I like that feels meaningful. Classes are more aligned with my interests and my life has a general, vague sense of direction now.

And finally, I have a friend who gets me. They mean the world to me, and I love them dearly. Before meeting them, I had never felt a sense of safety, security, and comfort with another person before.

I've had lots of friends, both in-person and within digital spaces, but I didn't feel truly connected or comfortable with them.

In terms of therapy, I still need to contact Mental Health Services, complete my intake, and see a therapist qualified to treat adults. The trouble is, I'd have to answer the same questionaries over and over again, revealing personal information about myself and my past. My progress in being evaluated for my memory loss and dissociation would completely restart. I would still have to see somebody that doesn't know me, my history, or anything about me. It's a long process, but one I'm still willing to go through. I'll probably need something in the room for emotional support while I'm taking my call. And once I do that, my health company would actually have to have a trauma specialist available that's familiar with dissociation.

This is just the surface of my journey with therapy, but I'm counting on it! I haven't given up just yet, and my trauma will be addressed. I promise you that.

What's Happening to Goth History?

I'm still continuing Goth History, but I can no longer keep up with publishing series installments every three days. Between business, work, and school, spare time is limited. Instead, I'm switching over to a weekly or bi-weekly schedule. Saturday will be the designated posting day for episodes.

New Series

A while ago, I released a poll asking what content you ghouls would like to see. Some of you expressed interest in music recommendations, reviews, and analysis. Music is an important part of the goth subculture.

Social media algorithms tend not to prioritize music content when it comes to the subculture, but I hope to change that. Bands deserve to be discussed alongside fashion, aesthetics, and horror flicks. I'm considering a monthly schedule for this new series. "Macabre Music of the Month" maybe?

Out of a month's listening, I'd choose a band, album, song, or artist that stands out to me in the subculture.

These are my plans so far, and it'd be awesome to kick this series off in January!
