hey if you’re doing requests I have one!
So basically it’s presidential snow, and he has a maid/nanny who tends to his kid(s?) and basically, she’s not openly a rebel, but she obviously doesn’t agree with the capitol // she’s from the districts // and she ends up teaching that to his kids (accidentally?) and well he finds out.
thank youuuuu (don’t use this if u don’t wanna obviously!!)🫶
warnings: MDNI! power imbalance, swearing, non-con, spanking, fingering, m masturbation
You weren't even sure how you ended up here, sitting on a plush carpeted floor watching over two blonde headed children that weren't yours playing with gaudy toys. You had been poor, lived in your too-small home with your too-large family out in the districts...and now you were in an isolated mansion.
It wasn't fair really that they had all of this while everyone else was made to suffer and starve and fend for themselves, fight to the death in that archaic arena.
So, when the opportunity came along to help out your family in exchange for...well you, you took it in a heart beat even though it meant you had to reside here, and raise his children. It didn't matter how you felt, or how scared you had been at first to leave home, your family was better off in this arrangement even if sometimes it made your skin crawl in annoyance at this rigged system.
You tried your best, but it wasn't easy hiding your disdain for everything around you. It came in whispered comments, or unwanted facial expressions, or on your worst days blatant statements about it all. They children would just glance at you recognizing the shift in mood. The children were young, they couldn't possibly understand.
Or so you thought.
"Daddy!" They ran to the door at your back hugging his legs as you climbed to your feet. You took him in, his tall frame, the neat suit he had that hugged his figure too well. You wished he was ugly, you wished the horrible insides he had would reflect outwardly. It would make it easier to not look at him so much despite knowing the frigid soul he contained.
He patted their heads then his eyes snapped to you, "I just need to borrow you for a minute." Your palms sweat as you nod following him out of the room and towards his home office. He opens the door for you letting you lead the way before closing it behind himself, locking you both within.
"Is some-!"
"We had the most interesting conversation at breakfast this morning." You didn't normally eat with them when they all were together and at this particular meal you hadn't been at. He came towards you more, "Livia and I were talking about the next Games and our daughter declared she will never watch another one again in protest for the barbaric event." He was staring down at you with a condescending smile, "Now I don't know about you, but that seems a little strange for her to know a sentiment like that."
Your eyes quivered horror seizing you knowing those words had been muttered under your own breath, "President Snow, I-!"
"Bend over the desk." You open your mouth to be confused, but he shakes his head. "I won't repeat myself again."
You're shaking as you walk towards that monstrous mahogany desk. You lower your chest down against it, cool wood pressing into you face as his slow steps come towards you. "I'm sorry sir." You whisper.
His hand trails down your spine, "I know." The plea sits in your throat, you'll do anything to keep him from reporting you, from getting you hung for treason. "I know." He has you right where he wants you as he pushes your dress over your hips.
You scream as his hand comes down on your ass. "Stop!" You squirm but he wraps his other arm around your waist to keep you put. He's yanking your underwear down your legs bunching them up into his palm and shoving them into your mouth.
He spanks you again. "That's it. Be quiet and think about what you've done." His hand comes down again as tears break through your eyes, "Naughty, naughty girl." You cry into the fabric as he spanks you again. He slaps you over and over and over again until your body goes limp across the desk, until all you can feel is the jolt of your body with each hit and a hardness poking into your side. He caresses the burning cheek, attempting to soothe the raw skin, but he doesn't spank you again. "You did so good." You want to vomit but your brain feels muddled with pain you barely register his fingers gliding between your legs.
You groan.
"Shh," He hushes you running a hand along your folds. "You'll take this too." He pushed two fingers inside of you. You buck backwards finding some strength to try to run from it, but he's digging into your side to hold you against him fingers pushing up, up, up into you. He curls them some whine leaving you, muffled by fabric in your dry mouth as he moves his hand faster. It feels wrong, it feels wrong to have pleasure burning through you and you blame the pain still throbbing in your backside as the squelching sound fills the room. "Hmm that's it, there's my good girl." He kicks your legs apart spreading you open for him more as he thrust his hand violently into you. "Let me do whatever I want to you isn't that right?" You shake your head as you squeeze your eyes fighting the orgasm building in your bones. He somehow manages to reach his hand up your body to knead into the flesh of your breast groaning out as it forces your back to arch more for him. You hate this, you hate yourself, you hate him and his stupid children. "Cum for me." His hard cock digs into your side as your body curls around his desk knees falling inward.
You do. With his hand buried deep inside your cunt, you clamp down around him your cry silenced by your own underwear the chilling desk cooling your scorched skin. You go limp again as his hand stills inside of you letting your orgasm throb around his knuckles and slid down his wrist.
He moves his other hand that isn't inside of you and shifts it between his legs, and then you feel him. Feel him gliding his hand along his cock next to your sore body, fucking his hand to the sight of your glistening bare pussy and the hand print welted into your ass. You glance towards the window at the back wall listening to the sick wet sounds, the curses and grunts, and you feel more wetness slip out of you. It doesn't take him long for him as hot ropes of cum splatter across the tender flesh.
He leans over your body, mouth pressed against your ear, "If you ever spew that rebel bullshit to my children again I'll shove my cock so far down your throat you'll never be able to speak again." He rips his hand out of you and slams it down one last time on your raw ass cheek. You can hear him licking your pleasure off of his fingers while your nails break from holding onto the wood too tight, "Don't pretend you don't want it either."
He leaves you lying there across his desk shaking, in pain, and vowed to silence.

Hi Lumi. This year I’ve watched The Clone Wars, Rebels, Mandalorian, Book of Boba Fett, and Tales of the Jedi and I’m watching Ahsoka as episodes are released. But I feel like I’m missing some context as to why people are wary of Filoni. What things should I know so I’m caught up, so to speak, in the fandom discussions?
Hi! That's a lot of Star Wars to watch in a year, I hope you're having fun with it all! And I will gently remind everyone that Filoni is not the be-all-end-all of Star Wars creators--Henry Gilroy was there for TCW and Rebels, too. George Lucas was holding writers' meetings years after the show started (at least into 2010!). The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett are far more Jon Favreau's shows. The Bad Batch is Brad Rau and Jennifer Corbett. Resistance was developed by him, but was run by other producers. It's just that Filoni tends to get the most camera time and has become the face of Star Wars creators. That said, the issue with Filoni is kind of two-pronged, though, they overlap. 1. He's done a lot of interviews where he's said a lot of anti-Jedi things that have drifted from reasonable critiques in the beginning to eventually "Qui-Gon Jinn was the only true Jedi. [blatantly wrong citations]" This has put a lot of people off him as a creator, because we love the Jedi Order that Lucas talks about and established, which Filoni has actively contradicted over the years, despite being promoted as someone who follows Lucas' themes. And it's hard not to be aware of his interviews when watching his shows and it's hard to enjoy shows that do your faves dirty, you know? 2. His writing has become weaker over the years for a lot of us--Rebels is a show most of us love and found to be incredible. Many of us really love The Clone Wars, which he was heavily involved in/was probably the central voice after Lucas started phasing out. But his biggest story told over the course of those series--basically, the story of Mandalore's history and fall to the Empire--has been extremely thin for a lot of us. And a lot of us get frustrated at his inability to be objective when it comes to Ahsoka's character, that we love her as a character very much, but it hasn't felt like Filoni really knows what to do with her character arc and yet almost everything he writes is centered around her. His final season of The Clone Wars? Gave her the walkabout arc and the Siege of Mandalore arc, both of which often did not hold up well under scrutiny. His episode of The Book of Boba Fett? I actually really loved it, but it absolutely just stopped the pacing of that show to focus a lot on her. More on Luke, but he couldn't resist putting her in there, either. Tales of the Jedi was half devoted to Ahsoka and so much of it wasn't even about her time as a Jedi! We're frustrated because he doesn't set things up well anymore--Morgan Elsbeth is a Nightsister?? Why wasn't that established in The Mandalorian instead of pulling out randomly in Ahsoka? Why does Sabine Wren suddenly so badly want Jedi training, when they barely even had a conversation in Rebels?? There's a lot of good that Filoni has given to Star Wars, I think he genuinely cares about the Force and what it means--he's very consistent on how it's not easy and how it takes discipline and control, that he has been consistent on how anger and fear are paths to the dark side, even his episode of TBOBF had Ahsoka saying, yeah, attachment is a path to the dark side, because the Jedi mean "attachment" in a more Buddhist-aligned way. A lot of his writing for the character of Ahsoka is actually pretty good, like I've been enjoying her being a prickly, traumatized hot mess in the show! It's just that I kind of hate all the interviews he gives and I think he's a lot less objective than a lot of fans and media coverage that would hold him up as a perfect writer/interviewee about all things Star Wars, and it all comes together to make him kind of a hot-button topic.
So, a lot of people LOVE Filoni's work, a lot of people are frustrated by it, a lot of people are casually fine about it, a lot of people HATE Filoni's work and it can be a fun mix of any of the above or even other issues that come up. (And that's all fine! I have my views on Filoni's work, but it's fine if others hate it more than I do or love it more than I do, there's room for us all, all of it is valid.)
But I think if you want to understand some of the roots of this corner of fandom's frustration, two (admittedly long as heck) homework assignment reads would be:
- My own rebuttal to Dave's behind the scenes Mandalorian Gallery talk (this is jokingly referred to as "Davegate" because I refused to take it too seriously) - @david-talks-sw's collection of comparisons between Lucas' commentary on the Jedi and Filoni's commentary on the Jedi
This response itself is more focused on laying out the problems a lot of people have with Filoni's writing, but also honestly I still have my giant collection of Jedi source material citations that quotes his commentary, I still bring up Filoni's quotes in current meta a lot, I still talk positively about the things I enjoy from his shows, so overall there's equal amounts of both praise and criticism here. So, as short as I can make it (which isn't very, shut up, I know! XD), that's basically what people mean when they say they're wary of Filoni.

So. How exactly is Jonathan doing during the spy mission? I really need a nickname for him
He's not doing too great! :D
He's missing Freddie a lot, plus at the same time he's kinda glad Freddie ls away so that he could consider a response to an inevitable rejection. Which is kinda freaking his tentmates out since he's muttering to himself.
He's also very lonely, so he might start socializing after putting it off for very long since he didn't need to, in his opinion (Jonathan tends to keep his social circles rather small out of paranoia he might accidentally be neglecting the friendship with one of them)
He also lost his (signature) braid since he doesn't wanna bother people ("You're just wasting my wifes time with your senseless requests, boy!")
He's also starting to recieve letters from Annabelle and his father again, talking about how irresponsible his running away was (they finally managed to locate him to sent him berate-letters) so there's that....
Honestly I think he'd start getting closer to either Cathy or Giles, or trying to get closer, and just whining about everything that's been going on. After they left that awkward stage of "what should I say...?"
I mean the three could certainly bond over awful fathers.
He's also shivering a lot since mah boy was living in a hot blacksmith for the past years and he had his (high quality) cloak (which he stole from his father when he ran away btw) which he gave Freddie because "you can't die on my due to hypothermia" so he might start asking around if anyone has a spare and he also starts to wear his coat more often than in the other seasons
All in all he has very much a self doubt era where he's constantly overthinking if Freddie would follow Hammy and commit treason and stay with the rebels or if Freddie hates him now of if Freddie might not want to at least be his friend anymore and-
Plus he's starting to have a lot of regrets. Most of them aren't justified though.
Like, it was completely reasonable to leave before he trapped Annabelle in an unhappy marriage and it was also completely reasonable to leave a letter of explanation and it was also completely reasonable to kiss and confess to Freddie
But Jonathan doesn't know that
So he's just kinda drowning in self doubt and spiraling thoughts without an anchor to hold onto because he didn't even talk properly with other soldiers because "why should he? Freddie will always be with me and he's the only one who needs to know me" (bro is lowkey scared of forming new relationships - even when platonic)
Well
Now Freddie isn't here and Jonathan is hanging on by a thread.
(Meanwhile Freddie and Joseph are about to start strangling each other before the argument™️)

Hi Sabezra community.
Am I an English speaker? No. That's why I apologize in advance for the crimes against the English language that I'm going to commit next. But I still hope you can understand me. I'm not even sure anyone will see this.
It's been a while since I came here to find people who love the same things as me. Like a refuge from the outside world. I planned to post something only when I had something interesting to share with you all, like a video edit or fanart. Things so we could have fun together.  The current circumstances didn't allow me to do anything for now, so I was just following things as a spectator.
Seeing all this ship war going on, made me feel like I wanted to get away from all social media, so I wouldn't see these things anymore.  I also felt scared to express my love for this ship too. I'm scared to post this now.
Even my mother noticed that something was bothering me.  She asked me several times what I had.  I didn't want to tell her, because she's also a Star Wars fan and I don't want her to know everything that's going on. I want her to continue watching our favorite shows without thinking about negative things.
I want to get the hell away from it all, but for once, I would like to post this to all the Sabezra shippers who are receiving free hate. I think you guys need some love after suffering so much hate and I need to get out how I'm feeling. Because that's all I can do for now.
This whole time, I saw your fanart, I saw your video edits and I read many of the beautiful fanfics you wrote (I confess that I haven't read them all yet, it's due to lack of time, but I loved everything I read).
I see everyone putting so much love into what they do. And I can't ask you to continue, because I myself don't know if I'll ever be able to post anything in the future. But to be honest, I don't want you to stop.  Am I being cowardly and selfish? Perhaps, but it's the truth.
But I'm here to remind you that not all Sabezra shippers are so active on social media, but we exist.
I've been a Star Wars fan for a few years and only watched Rebels during the pandemic. I started shipping Sabezra since then.
I was so happy that the Ahsoka series exists. And now I couldn't even watch Ahsoka or Rebels (I tend to rewatch the things I like many times). Because every time I try to watch it I'm reminded of this whole ship war that's going on.
So I decided to talk to a friend. He is also a Star Wars fan (and a fan of Rebels, which I recommended to him), but he doesn't follow things that happen on social media. We always talk about Star Wars, but we never talked about ships.  But today I asked him what he thought of Ezra and Sabine.
He is my childhood friend and we practically grew up together, so I thought: "If he sees Sabine and Ezra as just friends/siblings, just like he and I are, maybe I'm seeing too much in the interactions between Sabine and Ezra and and I should just stop shipping them."
But to my surprise he also ships Sabezra. He said that you can see in the exchange of looks between them that there is something (In fact, my friend and I never look at each other the same way Sabine and Ezra look at each other). And he thinks Sabine is in love with Ezra.
The same case happens with my mother, who also loves Rebels and watches everything from SW since when she was young, but without following all the discussions that happen on the internet.  When we watched Ahsoka, she said she thought Sabine liked Ezra since Rebels.  She said this without me saying anything about shipping them.  And when I asked her if she thought it was wrong to ship them, she said no and said she thinks they will be together someday.  (I know, this may never happen, but hearing this from my mom warmed my little heart)
Even a friend of mine who isn't a fan, just watches casually, asked me if Sabine had a crush on Ezra.
Talking to these people from outside made me feel better, because this may not have been the intention of Dave and the others, but you can see that, based on common sense, no one can blame us for shipping them, it seems natural to many people. And not all Sabezra Shippers can be seen expressing this around.
I have nothing against anyone who ships wolfwren.  But I won't lie and say I wasn't sad that the cast supported it so openly, while we are accepting crumbs. I confess that at first I felt betrayed. I haven't shipped Sabezra for as long as many of you, but I feel like I have. But thinking clearly, I understand them. Besides thinking that they can to ship whatever they want, just like us, I see it as a way for them to show support for the LGBT community. It is to be expected that they will do this. And it's okay.
Needless to say, I'm just posting this to express what I was feeling, I have no intention of hurting anyone.  I am completely against any type of hate.
I don't regret watching Ahsoka, nor do I regret that the series existed.  But I'm sorry to have seen so much fighting and hatred for something that was made to make us all happy. I wish I had followed everything in ignorance, as well as my friend and my mother. I think I'll start seeing things that way from now on.
I had a lot more to say, but I still don't know how to express them in words and this was turning into a mile long post.  My first post and this was huge.  I'm sorry for this. I needed to get these things out because I want to sleep and focus on the more important things I have to do.
And I want to be able to enjoy watching Ahsoka and Rebels again without feeling sick out remembering all the discussion surrounding it.
For now, I want you to know that I've been loving all the Sabezra content you've been posting. What I want to say is that I'm here and that I will continue to ship Sabezra until the end. Even if you don't see me interacting here.
Maybe later I'll regret posting this.
Maybe I'll delete it right away.
Maybe I'll never come around here again.
I don't know.
Too late. But everything is fine.
At least now you know I'm here.
I love you all.

MOST INTENSE SYNASTRY ASPECTS:
Mars opposite Pluto: This aspect isn’t talked about much because it tends to be somewhat rare. The best way to describe it is a taboo and magnetizing attraction to one another. One partner may be very intimidated by the other. In my personal relationship I have found the Pluto partner to be the obsessive one, while the mars partner tends to rebel against Pluto’s controlling nature. The sexual connection here isn’t over exaggerated. Sex is a power play. Sex is a mode of control and manipulation from both sides. This aspect can also breed vengeance. The Pluto partner desperately wants to possess the mars partner, and in doing so can become aggressive, and needlessly cruel to the mars partner. Overall this relationship includes dramatic displays of affection, and an overall taboo vibe to the entire relationship. The best way to describe this relationship is the famous quote “all is fair in love and war” because when this aspect is present the partners will do whatever it takes to win. Regardless of who gets caught in the middle.
Mars/Venus conjunct Lilith: From the very start the attraction here can feel as magnetizing as it is frightening. It can create an intense and raw connection between two people. Although there is clearly darkness creeping into the intimate moments together. With this aspect you may question if this relationship is right. You feel so drawn to each other, yet there is a repulsion that you can’t quite put your finger on. A relationship filled with intense stares, and indescribable tension. It’s the unbelievable sex that’s followed by a horrible gut feeling afterwards. Its giving into your temptation even though you know it’s wrong. This person, although they may be attractive, just irks you. Not in the way that would make you grossed out, but something deeper. Nonetheless, the sexual connection is incredible. It’s the type that keeps both partners coming back for more even after countless betrayals, and no matter how many people have been hurt. For some reason you can never shake the thought and this person, and they can never shake the thought of you.
Moon conjunct Lilith: This emotional connection. The type they write about in movies. The type you write home about. I see the darkest parts of myself reflected back to me when I am with you. You probably know this person better than they know themselves. You probably see their motives long before they can even recognize them. This bond is intuitive. It’s deep. A lot of time can pass, but when you reunite it feels as if you just saw each other days ago. It’s home as a person. You know each other. Too well. You know what they think, and what they feel, but since Lilith is involved things quickly get complicated. Both the moon and Lilith person have an extreme emotional attachment to one another. So much so that they can never truly close the book on their relationship. It’s always a farewell, but never a forever. With this connection. You always come back together. There is no final goodbye.
Venus trine Neptune: “I see stars in your eyes.” Was poetry written by Venus-Neptune people? Or was it written for them? Probably a mix of both. When these two planets meet in Synastry it feels as though actual magic is present within the relationship. It might as well be a perfectly written novel. There are tragedies. Passion. An overwhelming love for one another, and just an overall ethereal vibe to the entire relationship especially in the beginning. If you had any dreams or hopes for what love would be, then Venus trine Neptune would make those dreams a reality. In fact it would probably exceed your expectations for what love could be. Still this aspect signifies delusion. It also tells of an unconditional love. No matter what your partner does. You still love them. And the same is applied vice versa. Almost nothing could make you despise this person, you will always see the good in them.

Okay I wanted to do a part 2 of this post so here we have after ravens choice!
——
So the day after Raven doesn’t sign everything is in shambles tbh
Students who were so sure about their destinies are now questioning everything they’ve been taught
Students who were already doubting their destinies are now feeling more confident but still keeping everything in because of the backlash raven and their decision can get
Raven is right in the middle, stuck on wether she should try convince apple & grimm to see her view or gather more rebels to help back her up
Now the already named “Royals” have come up with many many names for those who have stood by Raven (Maddie, Poppy, Hunter to name a few who actively stood by her) but they decided to name themselves “Rebels” because why not
(also Raven found it somewhat cool she had people who would help her fight and wanted to come up with a cheesy name for them)
So that’s how the split is formed
——
During the next few days more and more people start taking sides, most royals have stuck together but in smaller groups.
Their ideals have been damaged. Badly. It’s caused huge rifts between former friends.
Take Blondie, she starts hanging around more with Faybelle to make sure people thinks she’s as deep into her destiny as the fae is (it’s hurting them both equally)
when in fact Blondie is wracked with guilt because she’s lied to so many of her friends about her destiny (her mother technically isn’t true royalty and she’s scared that if Apple or Grimm find out about it they’ll punish her) and the truth about what she wants
Or take Lizzie, she’s slowly stopped hanging around Maddie (even though they are extremely close friends) because she truly does like her destiny (and has the urge to prove to her mother she can be the best future queen)
Her and Kitty still hang with each other, they have similar thoughts about their destiny
Briar is having huge huge mental arguments with herself about wether this is what she truly wants or if she wants to run from her destiny
So the royals are in shambles even if they’re acting all composed and put together
——
The rebels are similar but different
Their all finding their people, finding those who believe in destiny hopping (something I’ll go deeper into soon) or just being true too themselves
They look to Raven as inspiration because she got the guts to do what they couldn’t and they admire her for it
Take Poppy, she’s been waiting and waiting for the time to rise and show that they shouldn’t be forced to follow their destinies and now she’s got someone who feels the same way as her (Raven)
she just had too back her up, and become quite the public speaker when it becomes to much for Raven
Or Ginger, someone who has been actively defying her destiny for months and months finally has a shoulder to lean on in the rebels!
They become their own little family
——
And so the royal/rebel split happens
fights break out, students are confused which leads to a lot of shit being spread and used to try hurt those on the opposite side (as teens tend to do)
Apple is struggling, she never had to use her skills for this (she’s anxious god if her mother finds out she’s screwed)
Raven is thriving but is also struggling, she’s never had to lead people before, never had to use her voice so people can get the help they need (also anxious she was never good in crowds and her fucking mom would throw as hissy fit but also be proud of her so she’s conflicted)
But there’s more to come for them all and it’s gets ugly (like most teen fights do)
——
Pt2 done, pt3 coming soon

20 Questions for Writers
(Thanks for the tag @katebishopofearth 💛)
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
18
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
452,721
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Avengers, Mandalorian, Star Wars Rebels, The Bad Batch, HTTYD, and I really want to write something for Prospect
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Lift a Sail
Head Above Water
Anchors
Black & Red I: The Early Days Chapter (okay, I was surprised this one made the top five)
The Lighthouse Keeper
5. Do you respond to comments?
Yes! I appreciate comments so much and I know I love it when writers respond to my comments on fics and give me DVD special features behind-the-scenes commentary and I love giving lore and insights and explaining things. (I feel crushingly stupid with everything I say, though… 🫣)
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I don’t know… I tend to cram the angst in the start and middle of a story but I compulsively aim for happy endings.
Maybe Lift a Sail? It ended with everything in the worst state (even though it was in the process of getting put right and I did put it right in the sequel! But. Yeah. It ended the angstiest.)
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
It’s a tie between The Lighthouse Keeper and Shadows Dancing on the Walls. They’re my happiest endings ☺️ everyone together, reunited, safe and sound
8. Do you get hate on fics?
I’ve been really fortunate. I’ve gotten some but not too much, mostly just a few nasty comments but it was from ones who I think just didn’t understand what my endgame for the story was or they misunderstood something and thought I meant something I really didn’t. (Hence why I preface my stories now with so many warnings and notes. They seem ridiculous but I have had people get upset at me for not following canon in a story explicitly tagged “not canon compliant” so… yeah.)
This very memorable time, I had someone tell me to stop writing from Grogu’s POV because it’s not interesting and they get disappointed every time they see a new chapter and find out it’s his POV (may the record reflect that out of literally over a hundred chapters in the series, I have written from his POV less than 10 times and this comment was on the third). What surprised me (and continues to warm my heart) were the other people who jumped into the comment thread and they didn’t bash the person (I wouldn’t want that) but they assured me that they enjoyed these chapters and encouraged me to keep writing what I wanted to write. I’m so grateful for that because I take everything to heart and I seriously considered deleting that chapter (even though I really loved it and was so proud of it).
9. Do you write smut?
No.
10. Do you write crossovers?
Oh, yeah. A lot of in-universe crossovers (I mean, Avengers is itself a crossover, technically, and what I write for Star Wars counts as crossovers because I take characters from various shows who haven’t met in canon and I put them in situations together.)
I have loads of ideas for actual crossovers. My sister and I are always creating these convoluted meetings between totally different universes (you should see our HTTYD/The Mandalorian crossover. It’s wild)
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I believe some of my early stuff wound up on Wattpad.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
The aforementioned stuff got translated into Spanish, I believe. (Which… I can’t really argue with. I think that’s awesome; I can’t translate my stuff into Spanish, so I think it’s great that someone could and then more can enjoy it. But I just wish whoever did it had asked me first.)
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I help my sister with her fics sometimes. She’s a fantastic writer—her comedy is exquisite!
14. What’s your all-time favourite ship?
Oh, don’t make me choose. Ironwidow (Tony Stark/Natasha Romanov) is so precious to me, but I’ve gotten swept up by Djarwren (Din Djarin/Sabine Wren) and (the actual canon ships) TechPhee (Tech/Phee Genoa) and Kanera (Kanan Jarrus/Hera Syndulla) have my heart in a vice.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Probably the Black & Red series. And the Tough Act to Follow story. And The Face of the Lost. And…
16. What are your writing strengths?
I’ve developed a penchant for descriptions. I love painting scenes with words. Anne of Green Gables was my favourite book growing up and the way Montgomery describes the places always carried me away.
I also really love writing dialogue and capturing individual voices.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
I struggle with making characters do or say things that I don’t agree with. Sometimes they have to do or say something (for the plot or that’s just what that character would do in that situation or interaction) but I don’t like it or don’t want them to do it because I’m a marshmallow and I want everyone to be friends
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
One word: italicise. That’s what I was taught in school and I love seeing it when others do it because it helps me see that it’s in a different language (I’m dyslexic. I once read a whole sentence and only figured out a few paragraphs later that it was in French. I thought I was just having a bad day).
(Of course, there’s always exceptions to the rule)
But, yeah, I think it’s great seeing other languages in a fic (real world ones or made-up ones like Mando’a, my beloved). It adds a lovely richness to a story, especially when the writer knows the language. I grew up in a multi-lingual community so reading something with characters coming in with different languages feels like home to me.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Doctor Who (like, fifteen years ago. It’s squirrelled safely away in a notebook, never to see the light of day)
20. Favourite fic you’ve written?
Anchors.
No pressure tagging: @seleneisrising @desertbeskar @sytortuga @sotvtaughtmehowtofeel @quicksilvermad @the-kittylorian-writes @heatherthetiredwriter @visitbespin (and I swear there were more I thought of just a minute ago but my mind has blanked so, please, if you see this and you want to do a round yourself, go right ahead, you can say I tagged you)

FFXIV Write Day 14 - Telling (Honesty as Policy)
"You realize if telling him goes poorly, we'll have to kill him?"
Marsil scoffed. As they strode through the streets of Lowtown he knew, deep down, Amelia had a point. He weaved through back alleys and down into a series of abandoned warehouses, past a resistance lookout, and continued on. Amelia followed behind, half-jogging just to keep up with Marsil's longer strides.
"We're not killing him after all the effort I put into keeping him alive." He protested. "Mujika's proven himself a reasonable sort, I don't think this will be an issue."
It had been three months since Marsil had dragged Mujika out of the path of his Garlean captors. Three months since the displaced Doman had nearly died of heatstroke. Three months since Marsil had nursed him back to health in the cool waters of the Garamsythe. Unable to return to Doma, Mujika had embedded well within their disorganized band of rebels. He had even gone so far as to pass on some of his training in subterfuge to aid them as thanks for saving his life.
All this, and Amelia still wasn't convinced.
"Whatever you say. I'll stay outside. If he reacts negatively, I have my pistol."
"Please don't shoot him." Marsil implored, exasperated. "I appreciate your concern, I do, but let me handle this. Please?"
"I can count on one hand the amount of people I know who'd trust you after you take your bandana off. I don't know if he's one."
"We will find out."
Marsil came to a stop outside a storeroom door and turned back toward Amelia. He took in a slow, deep breath and looked down at her, staring directly into her eyes.
"I cannot hide it from everyone. I will go insane, I… it's part of me. After all he's shared with us, he deserves our trust."
Amelia sighed, running a hand through her straw-colored hair. She looked physically uncomfortable at the notion, but none the less resigned herself to post up against the opposite wall.
"If you tell the wrong person, you're a pariah at best. You know that? You'll be lucky if someone doesn't mistake you for the enemy and try to put you down."
Marsil's shoulders slumped.
"Amelia, please."
She stared back at him, resolute. "I don't want to see you get hurt."
"I trust him."
"No, you like him."
"Why can't it be both?"
Amelia wrinkled her nose, unconvinced.
Marsil sighed. "I'm going now. You can wait here if you want, but it's going to be fine."
She offered a noncommittal noise, but he disregarded it entirely and instead turned to knock on the storeroom door. After a pause, he heard the accented call of come in from within and pushed the door open.
Inside wasn't much. A simple cot at one end served as the bed, while a wooden post at the other had become Mujika's training dummy. He had a table and stool pressed up against one wall where he dumped his meager belongings, including the shiny new daggers Matias had been kind enough to forge for him.
Daggers that could very well end up at Marsil's throat if this went poorly, but he prayed Amelia was wrong.
Mujika was exactly as Marsil expected him. Deep brown eyes, Doman features framed by hair as dark as obsidian, a cute, if confused smile on his face. He was dressed far more appropriately for the weather in proper Dalmascan fare, though he seemed less than comfortable with how open the shirts tended to be.
All the more for Marsil to eye, but he kept such thoughts to himself and instead cleared his throat.
"Are you busy?"
Mujika shook his head and gestured. "Not at all. Come in, is there a problem? Does Kutok need something?"
"No," Marsil took a deep breath as he crossed the room. "I, ah… wanted to speak with you about a personal matter. I have not been entirely honest and though my lies are only by omission, you have been with us long enough I feel you deserve the proper truth."
He stopped by the table, his back turned to Mujika. He trusted him, even as he could feel the man's scrutinizing gaze. His pulse quickened in his chest.
Mujika replied, "I'm listening."
Marsil inhaled deeply, then reached a clammy hand to the scrappy bandana tied around his head. He pulled it away, reflexively flinching as his spatial perception came sharply into focus. He furrowed his brow, then relaxed it again, brushing his hair from his eyes forehead with his empty hand.
His courage gathered, Marsil turned back to look at Mujika. Mujika's eyes immediately shot to his forehead, eyes widened, then narrowed. He crossed his arms, shifting his weight from foot to foot. Marsil's blood ran cold. His shoulders tensed.
Please, don't hate me.
Mujika cleared his throat. "…I didn't know the third eye came in black."
Marsil choked. "Pardon?"
He gestured to Marsil's forehead. "I've only ever seen the Garlean eye in white. Black is… is it malformed? Birth defect…?"
"Mixed blood."
"Ah." Mujika tilted his head. "…I understand why you would hide it."
"…you are not upset?"
"I owe you my life." Mujika lifted his chin, as if insulted by the notion. "Mixed blood or no, you put yourself between me and the Emperor's legions. That is not the act of a loyal Garlean. I am… curious as to how a man of Garlean blood ends up with Dalmasca's own resistance, but upset? No."
Marsil leaned back against the edge of the table, averting his gaze. "My mother's a servant to a senator. I saw…"
No. No more lies. I tire of lies.
He swallowed. "…rather, my father is Cassius fae Ferrum, senator and widower. My mother… his favorite mistress. I am a bastard and a whoreson, born and raised amidst the Garlean elites by virtue of my father's mercy. I found myself too Dalmascan for the Garleans in my life and too Garlean to be trusted by my own people. I could not stomach it anymore, to spend my days treated like refuse for my Dalmascan blood, to see my people suffer beneath imperial boots... I left it behind after my sixteenth nameday. Kutok took me in. The rest… you know."
Mujika nodded. Marsil found judgment behind his eyes, only a gentle sympathy as he listened, taking in each detail.
Mujika asked, "Kutok knows?"
"He does. Amelia and Frelic do, too. I suspect Kutok told Qestra, but her and I are not close enough for it to have ever come up, nor do I think she would tell anyone if she did know."
Mujika nodded once more, ruminating on that. "…why tell me now?"
Marsil swallowed past the lump in his throat, his chest tightening. "Ah, well… you have been with us long enough I feel confident trusting you, and I did not want to…"
I did not want to proposition you if I could not be honest with you.
He hesitated, waving his hand in front of himself in a vague I'm thinking, give me a moment gesture.
"…it would have been wrong to leave you in the dark."
Mujika raised a brow. "…it's not like you to struggle to find your words."
Marsil clicked his tongue. "Ah, well. There is no way to pivot that won't come across as awkward for the both of us."
"…Pivot?"
Marsil pushed off of the desk and approached Mujika with measured steps. He walked around him, not quite meeting Mujika's gaze as he rubbed at his wrist.
After some hesitation, he stopped and looked sidelong toward Mujika.
"…tell me, have you ever taken an interest in other men?"
Mujika furrowed his brow, his expression utterly baffled. "…an interest…?"
Marsil gestured toward the cot. "Interest. In another man's company, so to speak."
Mujika's eyes wandered from Marsil, the gears turning behind his eyes as he tried to parse the suggestion. Realization hit him like a stampeding chocobo, his eyes widening as he choked.
"Ah, I, ah… hm." Mujika cleared his throat. "I… don't know? It was never… presented as an option."
Well, that's not outright rejection. Marsil chuckled softly and stepped away, inclining his head deferentially. "Ah, well. Should you ever take an interest… I would be more than willing to show you a few things."
Mujika did not look his direction, but Marsil could see the tips of his ears turning red, his face flushed. Mujika shifted his weight awkwardly and managed a nervous laugh.
"I, ah… will keep that in mind." He crossed his arms over his chest, as if that was enough to obscure the bashfulness writ upon his features. "…Is that why you told me? So you could gauge my reaction before, ah… inviting me to your bed?"
"I told you because I find myself growing increasingly fond of you." Marsil replied. "As a friend, first and foremost. Anything more than that would simply be… fun? Something to let take its course. Alternatively, if you are not interested, then you, as my friend and brother-in-arms, deserve to know who it is you fight beside."
Mujika leaned his head to the side. "It… would not complicate things if I were to say no?"
"Of course not. If you aren't interested, you aren't interested."
He nodded, though Marsil could still see the redness that seeped under his skin. He couldn't shake the thought that it was cute, to see the normally collected shinobi flustered.
"I… will consider this." Mujika offered after some hesitation. "I appreciate your honesty. On… both matters."
Marsil chuckled awkwardly and inclined his head. "Of course. You deserve no less. I… whatever your answer ends up being, Mujika, I only ask that you answer for your own desire or lack thereof. Do not let any perceived debts sway your mind. Please."
Mujika half-turned and only now met Marsil's gaze, even as he struggled to maintain his composure.
"If my debt to you does anything to sway my mind, it is only insofar as I know you to be the man who saved my life. Which is to say… I believe I can trust you."
"Yes," Marsil replied, "you can. I didn't save you to betray you now."
Mujika inclined his head. "I know."
Marsil smiled at that. He shook out his bandana and carefully wrapped it around his head once more. He made sure to take special care to ensure enough layers wrapped over his forehead to hide any unwanted bump that might have given him away. Mujika tilted his head, considering.
"…I do have a thought, if you would humor me?"
Marsil blinked. "Hm?"
"Garlean perception is… precise in ways I cannot begin to understand, but I can learn to work around it. Is your third eye as keen as theirs?"
"…Truth be told, I could not tell you. You want to learn to account for it, though?"
"I do. If you don't mind some games of subterfuge, that is."
Marsil's smile widened. "Not at all. I'll go talk to Kutok now, see if he knows somewhere we can go to practice unseen."
Mujika smiled in return. "I look forward to it."
With that, Marsil excused himself, unable to wipe the smile on his face as he headed out the door to rub his success in Amelia's face.

˚。⋆𝜗⍴ hiiiiiii, i'm star ⭐ (she/her) and i'm excited to write min chae-yeon! TL;DR? she's 18, from gangnam district, and very ambitious to train in the idol path. this is my FIRST TIME writing for a tumblr rp so please be patient with me TT and let me know if you'd like to plot! 𝜗ৎ
Tumblr media
chaeyeon was born and raised in gangnam district, from a wealthy family. and the youngest sibling of @lgchanie !
chaeyeon mastered the art of playing the perfect daughter. in front of her parents, she's flawless. her mom props her up like a doll, and in her father’s eyes, she can do no wrong.
chaeyeon was hypersensitive to other people's intentions and emotions since a little girl. whether it was a need for mental stimulation or the competition for affection as the only daughter, she always stood out.
in school, she absorbed the education years ahead of her peers, proudly self-declaring her eidetic memory at just eight years old. she played soccer and tennis, joined clubs, etc, you know the rest.
THEN she's shipped off to the prestigious academy her family has attended for generations.
thats when the 3JAE, a group of girls from affluent families, approach her. she didn’t understand why—they were a year above her, wealthier, she didn’t particularly stand out, she didn't even meet the 'jae name' criteria lol
i basically dug through 'the heathers' purse and took out the murder bits.
they give chaeyeon a makeover!
massive disclaimer the 3Jaes didn't engage in tw:bullying or any overtly mean girl behavior, but their presence was undeniable.
they were always together, either as 4, 3, or 2, inseparable. "you'll meet the 'jaes' soon enough. and chaeyeon," classmates would warn new kids, "don't be fooled by their shiny hair."
visits to her parents were happy, mainly due to her increasingly busy social calendar. her parents seemed more thrilled about her choice in friends than she was or her grades.
the elevated status that came from associating with high-class lawyers, CEOs, and renowned artists boosted them—people they might never have met if not for chaeyeon's connections, was a high.
for chaeyeon, too, she got to model, walk runways at 16, jet-set across the world, all because of who she was friends with.
when the 3jaes graduated before her, chaeyeon felt an unexpected emptiness. the chaotic camaraderie they shared, though long overdue for a separation, had forged sister-like bonds.
their departure left a BIG void, compelling her to seriously consider her brother's advice: to follow him to legacy entertainment!
joining the company was like stepping into another act, another game, but the routine and new peers offered a refreshing change.
she's honestly throwing herself into this new environment!
mini trivia:
her social battery runs low 24/7
she's a perfectionist
ulzzang girlie
focus: vocals
tomboy and girly, a good mix
golden retriever personalities are somehow drawn to her?
she wants to be fluent in english, loves trendy american culture
snobbish, materialistic, vain, etc.
favorite genre: horror
into late 2000s grunge/alternative music
plot ideas:
friends who don't mind her tough exterior/looks. she's slow to trust and the type to hold grudges, doesn't like to conform and "put on a face" for others. she's moody and that's okay
in the same breath, a best-friend that's seen her vulnerable, hurt side. they have too much fun, and complete each-other's many sides.
a ♀ trainee that's far more talented than chaeyeon, and maybe there's a budding rivalry, maybe there isn't, but chaeyeon thrives in competition. she tends to measure her skills to others a lot :///...
a rebel like herself! thrill-seekers, like concerts and scary stories.

Ahsoka series thoughts
I wasn’t going to post this because most of the recent Star Wars stuff gets worse upon reflection and it bums me out. Plus it’s all been said better elsewhere and the last thing the internet needs is more Star Wars complaining. But I also like reacting to what is basically the only fandom thing I ever think about on an ongoing basis! And I type it all out to myself anyway! So here you go. More Star Wars complaining. Bon appetit
I actually overall had a pretty good time watching this show, because there’s a deeply-ingrained part of me that simply likes hanging out in the SW universe. I AM, in fact, just here for the vibes. 😔✌️ Unfortunately that doesn’t tend to carry over into long-term affection for the Disney+ shows themselves, and the only series I find myself still caring about and thinking fondly of when it’s not immediately in front of my face is Andor (every part of that show but especially Luthen’s speech and the whole mood of that scene and how I felt watching it is STILL in my head.) Star Wars would be so good if it was good, etc.
On a visual level, for a Volume show it didn’t look too terrible for the most part. What it lacked in dynamic lighting or convincing realism it often made up for in atmosphere, and they did a better job on some of the larger environments. At least until the finale, which devolved into a bunch of plain rooms. I thought Seatos looked nice, that was my favorite new location—the moody red forest and the map hologram on the cliffside were really appealing. (side note: I had to google what that planet was called because it takes me a while to learn new places when they don’t put the names on the screen, and in my head I was picturing it spelled like C-DOS. GLaDOS’s cousin.)
I was REALLY thrown by Sabine training as a Jedi because it came out of nowhere and I don’t see how it fits her character, but I am otherwise generally a fan of the “anyone can be a Jedi” thesis. I know it’s controversial because by now it’s been very established that space wizardry is a highly selective genetic trait, and of course surprise superpowers aren’t as fun or special if just anybody can do it… but going all the way back to the OT I always felt like Luke’s journey had more of an everyman quality to it, that he chose to follow that path and he trained and he learned to tap into the Force. Some people are born to be better at it, some people are way too strong with it and have to learn to control it, but theoretically anyone can do it. The Force connects ALL living things, so it makes sense to me that anyone should have the ability to access it, even if that only manifests in faint or subliminal ways (“I have a bad feeling about this,” that old theory).
I’m just not convinced they should have gone this route for Sabine! Her relationship with Ahsoka still doesn’t make sense to me, they didn’t flesh it out at all and I can’t track it from what we saw in Rebels. And it also disappoints me that she did ultimately work out how to use superpowers because I enjoy the dynamic of non-Force sensitives who are nonetheless very narratively important, even when you mix them in with the magic users who tend to suck up all the story weight. I like it when the magic is a little more rare and unique and hidden (particularly in the OT and ST eras!), and as much as I love space wizardry, that mythic element seems to work a little better at movie scale than at tv scale.
So I’m kind of a big hypocrite when I say anyone can use the Force when I also still want it to be special and exclusive, lol. I guess logically I like Force usage to be all-inclusive (or at least have that potential) but narratively I like it to be rare. ???? IT’S CONDITIONAL, OKAY. I contain multitudes.
I still have a really hard time connecting to live-action Ahsoka and I don’t think she seems enough like her animated counterpart for me to feel emotionally invested in her. It’s just a lot of Rosario Dawson doing a Knowing Smirk and posing with lightsabers. It was especially stark in comparison to Ariana Greenblatt’s younger version, who seemed EXACTLY like animated Ahsoka—which admittedly is not a fair comparison because she was literally playing the animated version, but she got the voice and mannerisms down so well.
Really all the animated characters seem so thin, and while I did like Sabine and I warmed up to Hera, forcing this all into live-action has the two-fold effect of not being enough for people who are familiar with the cartoons (because we don’t need the Cliff’s Notes versions of their characters, we know them and their story, and this just seems like cosplay versions of them clunkily recapping us on how they know each other) but ALSO not being enough for general audiences who haven’t seen the cartoons (because who the hell are these thinly drawn characters referencing a bunch of backstories and events we’ve never seen??). It’s like, yes, I recognize them from the cartoons! But that recognition alone is not enough to carry an entire series! Whereas if they’d just gone ahead and made a sequel cartoon they could’ve actually made a plot and it wouldn’t feel like they spent all this time on what only amounted to setup for something else.
I DID, however, feel like Ezra was the most successful translation from animation to live-action—I loved him a lot and he felt most like his actual character to me. (well. him and Chopper. lol) I understand why they gave him a beard but I hope he ditches it, then he’d be perfect. I can’t even wish for them to do away with the colored contact lenses because I know they won’t, but obviously those are awful across the board. It’s so distracting for everyone to have dead doll eyes, but apparently cosplay accuracy is more important than staying out of the uncanny valley. “We have to literally give them these goofy-ass cartoon eye colors! Otherwise twitter will riot!!!”
I just do not understand why they would make this show with its entire main cast from the cartoons, that is a direct sequel to the cartoons… not a cartoon. (I mean, from a cynical standpoint I get it—they have a ready-made premise and characters to continue churning out live-action Star Wars Content™ in lieu of actually making any more movies. But I don’t LIKE it.) People who know the characters are distracted trying to do the mental gymnastics required to align new voices/faces/mannerisms/personalities with what they already know, and people who don’t know the characters are totally lacking any of the context that would allow them to care and not be bewildered.
They throw Thrawn’s name around soooo much before he shows up, they make such a huge fucking deal about Thrawn, and we’ve never seen Thrawn in live-action before so it has absolutely no meaning to anyone coming into this cold. Even for me, watching it as someone who knows who Thrawn is, it feels completely stupid to treat it like something that has so much weight in the universe when within this story he has never existed before now. You say a name ominously and this is supposed to matter? Why? Who cares? You’ve never even shown this guy. It feels like I’ve missed something even when I’ve watched everything there is to watch. There are ways to build suspense around an unseen character, but just saying their name a bunch without showing why anybody should care or where all this talk came from in the first place is not it. They’re not connecting these dots, and certainly not in a way that makes for a compelling viewing experience. None of these stories stand on their own anymore, it’s like it’s all just references piled on top of references. They’re so busy talking about past events and setting up future events that they’re not really bothering with current on-screen events.
I did think Thrawn’s intro scene had some pretty cool gravitas, but here’s where I admit that I don’t care about Thrawn. 😬 Now, GRANTED, I’ve only read the Thrawn trilogy and watched Rebels, so I don’t have any exposure to his other appearances in the current EU. But he irritated me SOOOO MUUUUUCH in the original books that I’ve never wanted to seek out more. He’s a stream of deus ex machina gotcha moments, “I’m always ten steps ahead of the heroes because reasons,” and I never found it interesting, it was always just annoying. “I study art so I know everything forever” uggghh shut up. But! At least that guy was competent! This version of a brilliant strategic mastermind written by dummies is even worse. He’s not intimidating at all.
And I mean, a good way to maybe get me to care about Thrawn would have been anything approaching fandom’s invented odd couple adventures for Thrawn and Ezra post-Rebels, but instead the implication here is that they have done absolutely nothing and have not interacted at all throughout their entire exile. Complete stasis for both of them. Like, I hate the vague tell-don’t-show of the Sabine and Ahsoka stuff, but it’s doubly boring to not even have the suggestion of anything happening in that intervening time period. What a transparently lazy way to shuffle Ezra and Thrawn off the board for the OT just to zip them back and pick up where they left off to fill in some dead space before the sequels.
That first shot of Enoch’s weird FACE HELMET was so bizarre I was really excited—the combination of gold and an unsettling molded face mask reminded me of Death Stranding, so for a second I was like omg weird Kojima Star Wars, holy shit. But it was really only one weird visual that wore off quickly. Just another different action figure, nevermind. And then I learned he was AMOS FROM THE EXPANSE so I just wanted him to take the mask off. Classic mask guys: I know you’re hot underneath there!!!!!!
I was enormously frustrated with the finale because, while I had decently enjoyed the journey, it really made it clear how futile it had all been and it wasn’t fun enough to overlook the emptiness. Ahsoka and Sabine facilitated the one thing they were trying to prevent and they’re fine with it. It was one long “To Be Continued” and like. I dunno. It would have been nice for a tv series to have SOMETHING within its scope that was being built to.
I liked Baylan and Shin a lot (new characters we’ve never seen before??!?!? who have cool outfits and cool vibes??!???!? LOVE IT) but toward the end I started to get irritated that we had no idea what Baylan was really up to and I assumed we would find out in the finale. Haha NOPE!! The lack of resolution makes it an even bigger bummer that Ray Stevenson is gone and they’ll have to recast to continue. From a logistical standpoint it just seems so odd and unbalanced that the season started with them and then by the end they only merit a few seconds of silent check-in without ever clarifying their reason for being in the story in the first place. (Obviously I see they’re bringing Mortis into this somehow [completely unclear to non-cartoon viewers!!!], but. What ABOUT it???? SHOW YOUR WORK)
Seeing the World Between Worlds was cool and I enjoyed the resultant Ben Solo clowning. :) (I also was comforted by seeing people excited about that, because my initial gut reaction was to be ANXIOUS AS HELL about them using up things I want for Ben on other characters. Noooo you should be saving that for my boy!!!! Please don’t chip away at my delusional hopes for the future, I need those to survive!!!!!!!) But the more Anakin’s corpse gets dragged out and bandied about the less sense it makes that they didn’t bother to use him in the sequels. You know, the conclusion to the saga about his family. The place where it would have made the MOST sense to use him. Nah. Anakin Skywalker throughout his entire life and afterlife: “Fuck them kids.”
I do think it’s cute to see Clone Wars-era Anakin and I’m glad we’ve progressed to a time where people appreciate Hayden. But I am also personally in dangerous territory of being like “I’ve had enough of this dude.” Between this and Obi-Wan suddenly Anakin is all over the place… while being markedly absent from the part of the story that features his legacy dooming all of his descendants. I don’t wanna be a person who holds a grudge against a fictional character for choices made by the writers, but I do find myself feeling more like “piss off, ghost!” because of TROS. If you’re gonna be an absentee father then GET OUTTA HERE!
Too bad Marrok was a nothingburger and went out like a total punk, because he looked so much like a Star Wars version of Rinzler I was losing my mind. Tron AU 4ever
Huyang was great, David Tennant has an excellent droid voice. And of course I loved the talk about Kanan 😭 But I’m bummed that lightsaber construction—!!!!!! one of my personally monumental longtime wishes for live-action Star Wars!!!!!—got rushed out in such an anticlimactic way on a mediocre tv series. Sigh. Glossed right over it just to cram another lightsaber in there for some bad action scenes. I actually liked Ezra only using the Force and Sabine only using a lightsaber so they had like a tag team “two halves of one Jedi” thing going on.
The zombie stormtroopers and their loud undead moaning were so stupid. I believed what the internet was theorizing, that all those troopers were dead to begin with, but I guess not? (I was really expecting that reveal in the previous episode with the group that got wiped out in the outdoor battle.) They were scarier and cooler as quiet automatons. The Spirit Halloween shambling zombie garbage really ruined it.
I was pretty intrigued by the whole “other galaxy” premise and the ancient artifacts/magic. I love the Zeffo aesthetic, and I love the Nightsisters so seeing the Great Mothers was really cool. But Peridea was such a dull environment it wasn’t as awe-inspiring as it seemed like it should have been. I did like the giant monuments and whale bones, and the crab guys were cute, but otherwise… not a lot going on. I know the universe is a big place and most of it is more likely to be dead and empty than not, but also. It’s a fantasy. And I wanna see COOL ALIEN STUFF and WEIRD ENVIRONMENTS.
I enjoyed the duels between Sabine and Shin—the first one on Lothal was particularly cool because as it was happening it dawned on me that, holy shit, is this the first time we’ve ever seen a live-action lightsaber duel between two women?!?! And I had to scan my memory banks to be sure. Sometimes… you spend so long in a dude-centric universe and become so desensitized to it… you can’t even tell when you’ve reached the light. 🤧 So anyway that was fun!! They also had some real copycat Reylo moments that made me laugh. (Shin threw Sabine into a tree!!!!1!1!)
The Purrgil were nice. :) I also liked that the Peridea boneyard had some brief glimpses of SPACE SHRIMP?? I did wonder as we were getting such an up-close look at Purrgil baleen if they actually ate space krill, and welp, I guess so. Just some regular whales in space. Star Wars was jealous that everybody’s favorite Star Trek is the one with the whales.
The “bokken Jedi” phrase Baylan introduced here is interesting to me because it’s nice to have something to describe a concept that I LOVE: the late-stage kids informally trained in the wild who have no idea what they’re doing. It’s something I’ve always enjoyed thinking about in terms of the sequels (see: one of my old meta observations that I’m most proud of!). The one thing I don’t love about it is more just straight-up copying Japanese words and concepts—just because Star Wars started that way doesn’t mean you have to keep doing it. :/
One unequivocally good thing I will say about this series is that I LOVED the music. The end credits in particular were awesome, I watched that all the way through every time.
The only things the finale left me looking forward to were Dathomir and whatever the fuck weird Force mythology they’re gonna get into, but I’m not exactly holding my breath about any of it. It’s not like they can make any sort of seismic shift since obviously the sequels still happen. ……Unless they break the Force so hard that they go full alternate universe………….. or they break it several years down the road right when Rey is born and actually cause the dyad to form… oh god

OC Interview: Wolverine Commander
I was tagged by @luvwich. I decided to go with something novel and interview the commander of the rebel army known as the Wolverines, as featured in The President's Lady, my Myers x V fanfic. This is technically his first appearance in The President's Lady canon.
Tumblr media
Interviewer: The commander of the anti-NUSA militia known as 'The Wolverines' rarely agrees to going in front of the media. He agreed to this exclusive interview on the condition that his identity was obscured. For this meeting, we were scanned, our cyberware was disabled, and we were bagged, before being driven to an unknown location.
This is what he shared with us.
Interviewer: Thank you for agreeing to meet with us, Commander. Commander: Thank you for coming. I was half-expecting you to flake out when you heard my conditions to agreeing to this interview. Interviewer: The truth isn't scared of being bundled into the back of a van blindfolded, Commander. Commander: Hmph...
Name?
You can call me 'Commander.'
Nickname?
I don't know you well enough for you to know that... yet.
Gender?
Male. Cis.
Star sign?
Orion. The hunter. Fitting, considering our line of work is hunting those who would destroy what little freedom Night City has left.
Height?
Helping the FIA build a physiological profile on me? Also want the size of my cock?
Interviewer: Uh... I don't think that'll be necessary. Next question? Commander: Please.
Orientation?
Upright.
Interviewer: No, sir, I meant... which way do you swing? Commander:...
Next question.
Nationality/ethnicity?
Helping the FIA figure out my life story?
Interviewer: No, I assure you we have no... Commander: If you were FIA, we wouldn't be having this conversation... and you'd be dead. Interviewer: *gulp*
Night City, born and raised. My father bled red, white and blue for the NUSA. He eventually died for it. His blood is on the hands of every politician and corpo fuck who let us bleed in the name of ever higher profits.
Next question.
Favourite fruit?
Pineapple.
Favourite season?
Spring. The dawn of new life. One day, Night City will have its spring. It will be the dawn of a new age for America, one closer to the ideals we were taught America stood for. Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
Favourite flower?
The Sampaguita.
Coffee, tea, or hot chocolate?
Coffee. Easier to put whiskey in coffee than hot chocolate.
Average hours of sleep?
Depends on a number of factors.
Interviewer: such as?
I reckon between 6-8 hours. I tend to sleep better when I hear that the NUSA has tripped on its own cock... so I sleep well pretty much every night.
Dog or cat person?
Cats. Cats choose their humans, they're independent-minded and they don't blindly follow orders. We could do with more cats in this world and fewer lapdogs.
Dream trip?
Have we invented interdimensional travel yet? Love to visit an Earth that isn't being actively gangbanged by the worst possible examples of humanity.
Favourite fictional character?
Captain America. Cap'n Rogers would see Myers for the fascist she is and sock her with that shield of his. He'd be appalled at the state of America today.
Number of blankets you sleep with?
My troops make do with one, so I do as well.
Fun fact?
Since we started this interview, about twenty innocent people have died on the streets of Night City...
Not very fun, is it?
Interviewer: N-no sir.
How do we stop it?
Interviewer: I don't know...
Have to stop it at the source. Myers is just a symptom of the disease. The disease is the inhumane system we live in, it's antithetical to life... but you're not here for the recruiting speech.
Any other questions?
Interviewer: No, that's all. Thank you for your time, Commander.

Tumblr media
AYYY thank you sm!!!! :3c i love all these lil weirdos, but I'll start with spilling some deets on Lotak and Yillan first! Lotak never had a chance to be a jedi; they were abducted in their youthTM by a force-sensitive cult/hivemind collective and grew up as a part of that. When the hivemind was broken, Lotak suddenly found themselves adrift in the galaxy-- most other members were able to return to their homes and families, but Lotak had been part of the hivemind/under its control for so long that they didnt remember anything about where they came from. Since then, they've been putting their skills at infiltration, general sneakiness, and tech smarts to good use by acting as a data thief/saboteur. (they considered being a bounty hunter but quickly discovered they dont really have a taste for wet work)
Yillan doesnt really have a back story to me yet (i have to be honest; i made her mostly for Queer Gaze reasons...), but she tends to occupy a sort of boogeyman role in whatever setting I put her in. She's a high-ranking inquisitor, and loves her job. Not because she really cares about the empire or its ideals, but rather that she's good at hunting down rebels and jedi and likes the thrill of the chase, and the freedom the empire gives her to do that. She's always accompanied by her little toadie, Zlythe, but you might not see him bc he's busy being a living footstool.
i dont want this to get too long so the rest are under the cut! :>
Brusan spends most of his time outside of the main temple, choosing to travel mostly around the outer and mid rims. In his younger days he was a fierce warrior; inclined towards hunting down slavers, crime syndicates, and people too strong for others to bring to justice. But as he's gotten older and seen more of the galaxy, his heart has put him more towards finding and helping lost force sensitives, protecting the innocent, and collecting lost jedi artifacts. When he returns to the temple it's mostly just to deposit the latest child he accidentally found, give Jocasta his latest flea market finds, and sit down for a nice cup of tea and ask Mace Windu about his latest opera.
Vauh and Yuen-Yuen actually grew up as childhood friends, thick as thieves, and that hasn't changed as they've gotten older. Before the clone war, Vauh spent most of her time helping around the temple, especially in the gardens where it was quiet. She's highly sensitive; her intuition and uncanny levels of sensitivity made her perfect for following the tiny lil breadcrumbs that spec ops often requires. She worked closely with a small squad during the war, whom she came to consider family. <3 Yuen-Yuen worked as a swim instructor/minder for aquatic initiates before the war, and after the opening battle at Geonosis realized that she could never be a general. She doesn't have the mentality or skills for making violence a part of her everyday life, and chose to remain in the temple and take more of an active role in raising the younglings, as more jedi left to join the war. She was always up to some kind of practical joke/mischief in her youth, and that hasn't changed much either.

An Ode to Traveling Solo
Disclaimer: I've had some wine, and I'm feeling philosophical, so... yeah.
There is something so empowering about traveling alone. Don't get me wrong, I love going places with family or friends, but I looooove traveling with just me and my Spotify account.
I guess it comes from being a bit of a control freak, not to mention a rebel at heart. I love not having to follow anyone's schedule but my own, and having the freedom to plan things that I enjoy without thinking about whether someone else will like it. I can eat Indian food, spend an hour or two browsing some local shops, sing along to Three Days Grace in the car at full volume, take an extra long bubble bath, and sleep like a starfish in a king-size bed.
(And yes, I did do all of those things today. Except for the sleeping, but ohhhh boy, I'm about to!)
I also really enjoy disconnecting from my everyday life. I love my family, I like my job and the people I work with, and I have a really good life. But it's so nice to put my phone on silent and just focus on me. Some might consider this self-centered behavior, but considering how much time I spend every single day focusing on everyone except me, I disagree. It's healthy. It's therapeutic. It's necessary.
I've taken several "me-cations" since I got my first car, and I've learned more about myself during those trips than at any other time in my life. I learned to love myself while on a solo trip. I learned that I'm funny as hell. I learned that my favorite coffee is that high caffeine stuff at Maverik gas stations, especially when mixed with hazelnut cream. I learned that KFC is my guilty pleasure comfort food. I learned, much to my surprise at the time, that I am an introvert.
I learned that I'm a chameleon, that I tend to mimic those around me because I think that's what they want, and it's the only way they'll keep me around.
I learned that my true self is worth showing... and worth loving... and that anyone who doesn't love my true self isn't worth my time.
And I learned all of that while in my car listening to Fall Out Boy (or Disney soundtracks... or both).
Long rant aside, I think everyone should experience solo travel at least once in their life. You might find you don't like it, but you just as easily might find you love it. Whether you travel or not, though, take time to get to know yourself, to figure out what makes you, you. And most importantly, love yourself. ❤️
(I'm gonna go sleep like a starfish now.)

what i'm listening to 5/5/2023 (song notes under cut)
spot. link//yt link
Laura Les - Haunted: haunted. by laura les.
Machine Girl - Dumbass!!: i was listening to a whole bunch of machine girl in the lead-up to the gecs n girl show and i feel like it made me a bigger fan than i had been previously. i honestly still am not like the most familiar with their individual songs but this is one of the ones that sticks with me. NO SUCH THING AS THE BOOGEYMAN!!!!
Cracked Out - If You Leave Me I'll Kill Myself: pretty tasteless but as soon as i came across this post and listened to it i was immediately hooked on this song. it reminds me of the dumb edgy comedy bullshit i would have listened to as a tween, but like, the better side of that stuff. it was basically impossible to find much of anything about this group, so the spotify track is a local file that you guys won't be able to play, and it wasn't on youtube so i actually uploaded it myself this morning just to put it in the playlist lol
Sum 41 - In Too Deep: i feel like sum 41 tends to kinda get dismissed as part of the obnoxious skate punk scene of the 90s-00s, and to a large extent that's fair, but man did they have some good hits. i feel like edgy teen songs like these really can work by being simple as long as they just hit the premise with everything they've got, and this would be an example
Tyler, The Creator - DOGTOOTH: i was very pleased when this reached the top 40, brief though its stint was. i've been getting more into tyler recently bc i feel like i've been missing out, he's really such an interesting artist and he balances a lot of different traits super well while still delivering the goods in terms of good beats, good lines, etc. seriously, "not sure what you overheard but it's probably what I said" is such a good fucking line
Nick Lutsko - A Ghost Story: would STRONGLY recommend checking out the video for this one, either in the youtube playlist or on tumblr here actually never mind i can't find it. watch it on youtube it's fun. i followed nick lutsko on youtube for a while before whatever network it was that he was producing for went under. probably machinima. i mainly knew him because of his limp bizkit parody which is funny bc i wasn't even listening to actual limp bizkit at the time. anyway i really like his voice and i'm actually glad that he's still finding success these days
Naughty By Nature - O.P.P.: as i've referenced, i've been rewatching robbydude's paper mario vods, which are very good, and in one of the early ones robby references this song and it made me look it up. and then i made this post and it was underrated. i don't really have anything else to say it's just a good classic rap song
Slipknot - Left Behind: putting this here as more of a landmark to represent that i've been listening to iowa (the album this is from) a lot in general. i've had slipknot on the brain recently more than usual (not for any reason of course. winks) and reminded myself of why everyone loves iowa so much. it's so fucking brutal and biting... nu metal <3
Busta Rhymes - Woo Hah!!: honestly another one where it's like yeah idk this is just a classic what do you want me to say. busta's a legend and this song is legendary and he tears it up and it's good
Sweet Trip - Tekka: probably the most direct of the violet finds from this month (hi violet :3) i had never listened to sweet trip before but tekka instantly grabbed me... it's all crunchy and stuttery and has yummy synths. i especially love how it just fucking breaks down in the second half it's like that machine that's breaking down and sweating and sputtering it's almost sexual. you know
Ike & Tina Turner - I'll Never Need More Than This: so i've been on my phil spector bullshit, as you might have guessed, so i was revisiting some of his tracks to just kinda take it all in. as always, it. well it sounds really fucking good, and tina turner turned in a killer performance as always. i love. sound :)
Rowdy Rebel - Computers (feat. Bobby Shmurda): I'M SLIDIN OVER CARS WHILE I SHOOT
.
.
.
THEY THINK THAT I'M TOM CRUISE
Machine Girl - Scroll of Sorrow: it's really rather exciting. see for those in the know (which is all of you bc there's only two or three people reading this), you're aware that my mutual (hi again :3) had posted about how, at the live show, the vocalist of machine girl got up real near the crowd (including said mutual) during scroll of sorrow. as such, i was listening out for the song at my own show and well chat i'll tell you i was not able to recognize it :-) but there was one point where they got up on the railing above the pit and were singing from up there, and while it wasn't like exceptionally close to where we were at, it was still cool bc it was like hey! that's like the thing! that i heard about! :) amd anyway i like the song
Sonic The Hedgehog - His World: itsa banger... i actually heard the penny parker cover of this song from the sonic fandub way before ever hearing the original so even now i still mix up the lyrics but it's fine. i've actually never played a mainline sonic game or any video game or any media at all but i like the music
Strapping Young Lad - Oh My Fucking God: i straight up didn't know that strapping young lad was a devin townsend thing, not that i've listened to any of his other stuff. this song's weird and loud and stupid and i like it
Rae Sremmurd - No Flex Zone: okay now. based on this one and the previous song, can anyone guess what semi-popular artist playlist i was listening to this month? i tried to listen to a lot more rap this month, because i wish to learn more about this beautiful world. no flex zone has been my first exposure to rae sremmurd and it was a good one, although i like one of the guys way better than the other one. slim jxmmi i like him better
glass beach - classic j dies and goes to hell part 1: i didn't really "get" glass beach for a while, i thought they were alright, but this month they started to click (once again with some help - check out this post teehee). they're cute, earnest, and high-energy; i have to kinda be in the mood but i can get into it 👍 i've also seen the band described as sort of a modern emo type deal and while i don't yet know if i agree or disagree with that it compels me
NLE Choppa - Final Warning: straight up this dude is weird and has a weird hit on the charts rn but bc of that i was like "ok let's see what he was like before his big image change" and ended up liking some of that stuff. he's so energetic and it really gets you pumped up, which is def what i'm looking for in this type of thing. he's got some interesting lines, too. it almost makes me wish he hadn't changed at all - i feel like i missed out lol
Vanilla Ice - Prozac: okay look i try not to vanillapost too much but like i'm a little bit insane about vanilla ice. i'm obsessed with his career path and it is not uncommon for me to just sit and think about it for an hour or more. i really enjoy his nu metal stuff, at least the earlier portions of it, and this is a top-tier track from that era. real headbanger. FUNKY RHYME KILLER, THE DOPE SONG DEALER
