I have an ehm.. let's say fairly high usage of Fantasia in my many years with this game. What is the norm is that I get tempted to test something, I do so, and it either sticks or I go back to the previous. When it sticks it tends to be a forever thing, but until it sticks it is an abuse of fantasia 😂

Currently, I have my one female character as a femroe.. but my brain is constantly going back to the female Viera they used to be.. and I'm debating on bringing her back, ah the fickle fickle mind!

so the other day a castmate of mine was talking about having once been a little girl (at this point, i all but short-circuited because said castmate is a man in his mid-sixties and my brain had its little moment of “!!!!! trans person!!! and he’s OLD!!!!”) and being asked if there was a famous person he looked up to or wanted to look or be more like. and he said— again, as a little girl at this point— “santa claus!” and everyone thought he was weird for it.

What I really love about the Daydream Hour art is that it really shows that the characters in Dungeon Meshi aren’t just characters in a story, but they’re Ryoko Kui’s ocs. And sure maybe this is a perk that’s granted to mangakas that release on a monthly schedule opposed to weekly IDK but there’s just some about getting to see different interpretations of the characters and peeks into what she draws in her free time outside the story.

There’s something for quite literally all the characters and like I said maybe other mangakas don’t have or can’t find the time to do so or choose to not release their personal work like she does but I think these pieces just make the characters feel more alive. Like she’s an oc artist through and through lol
