I. It’s an usually cold night in spring, midwives gather in a bedroom chamber to welcome the first born that will continue the sacred line. He doesn’t cry, worry lingers in his mothers eyes; when assurances comes, the worry fades. The cold follows from infancy to childhood, chilling him to his core until it settles in his bones. Expectations weigh him down, the Rosier name a sacred 28 and there’s a way things must be done. He has to excel with no exception, the purest blood they said but when skin is cut it still bleeds red.

II. His father is ice, strict and stern and unforgiving. His mother is warmth, gentle and loving and safe. Childhood is a mix of both, heavy words soothed over by forgiving arms. He’s brought up the way a boy of his status should be, though his fathers words about status and blood go ignored. They mean nothing to a curious boy more focused in the stories in his books than the one’s of his ancestor’s past.

III. It’s unexpected, his mother’s leaving, though a surprise to none except his father. Their marriage was never the fairy tale picture, a marriage of duty and a stranger of love. She held on to her son with a iron grip but in the end she had to put her happiness first, freedom was granted but he’d been the price. On the day she left, he received his letter. The years that followed were void of warmth and in its absence grew resentment. His father remained unchanged, his focus still on the legacy of their name and Aster’s place in it. He was sent away to school, a place with others just like him, told to not just be better but the best and anything else would not be accepted.

IV. Thiudreiks is paradise, a moment of peace away from home and he shows his thanks by living up to the expectations wanted from him. He makes a home in a found family of his own choosing, some familiar from childhood days and others new and with nothing in common, a select group of friends that he offers his loyalties to. He does as he’s told until at 18 he sheds the weight from his shoulders. He peruses a higher education for him, Aurelius, finally time for himself and away from any expectations.

despite being pureblood and holding the rosier name, aster doesn’t really care about blood status. it’s partly due to his family’s obsession with it

slytherins tend to get a bad rep for being the worst but aster isn’t very cruel, he’s cold and doesn’t offer a friendly hand but he also won’t go out of his way for cruelness. that requires time and effort and there are better things to do

when it comes to relationships he’s very flaky. he’ll be the perfect boyfriend for a brief moment then might lose interest or get bored and calls it quits. 

the idea of having to share a bedroom with 3 others does not appeal to him at all, because of this he chooses to stay off campus and lives in hogsmead. he’ll walk or fly in to class every day. often his flat is a gathering place for his friends

he doesnt shy away from trouble, he likes to keep things spicy from time to time

Ryuji definitely finds Conventionally Attractive Girls pretty, but he realizes around postgame that he genuinely formed crushes on THREE people; Akira, Makoto, and Goro. And all three of them are people who carry themselves as a bit Soft and Delicate (akira and makoto w their personality and mannerisms, goro w his appearance) while also being deceptively strong. Yusuke WOULD fit into this but hes only strong in the metaverse. Also if u tried to argue that he still finds yusuke pretty, Ryuji would just say ‘yeah duh? Of course???’ and would not elaborate further.

I just think. Its cute 👉🏾👈🏾 Ryuji loves someone whos pretty and capable of knocking him flat on his ass lmao He LOVES a challenge and he likes that they can all challenge him in different ways.

Akira is way stronger than he looks; hes very toned and he used to be quite active before being shipped off to tokyo. And after fighting in the metaverse, hes gotten way better at using an enemies mass and momentum against them. Yeah he can properly knock someone down, but its way easier to let Ryuji charge him and use that momentum to sweep and pin. Which Ryuji remembers vividly for Weeks. Akira is not allowed to spar w him and Makoto for awhile after that.

Makoto is just strong as hell. But shes very defensive, and extremely patient. ‘Ill wait and see before I decide What to do’. Shes got good reaction timing and its hard to catch her offguard. Its very difficult to disorient her so oftentimes, his spars w her are more about endurance. And if he ASKS her to do so, she’ll actually fight him back. He never wins 😭 but she is very patient w him and she doesnt treat him like an idiot. She likes to give him tips and redirect his strengths to make up for his weaknesses and it makes him a bit warm in this chest

Spars w Goro are just fun. Theyre fun! Goro is way more aggressive and reckless than Makoto and Akira. He is looking for openings near constantly and Ryuji has to either keep up or tank hits. Its very. Engaging. For him. Sometimes he loses and Goro is giving him a look so smug, Ryuji wishes he could kick him in his fucking teeth (something he clearly couldnt do bc hes already been knocked flat on his ass). And sometimes he wins, and hes so shocked and HAPPY about it; he doesnt miss the way Goro looks away from him pouting like a brat (‘no fucking way are u POUTING man, what a sore loser 😭’). Goro and his uptight personality is thrown out the window completely and its so fun and refreshing to see. Hes tall and imposing w broad shoulders and toned arms and if Ryuji is staring, he finds himself immediately distracted when Goros cheerful, softspoken voice asks if hes willing to go another round.

I love it 👉🏾👈🏾 Ryujis got a complicated relationship w violence but it helps to have people he trusts engage with it in a way that doesnt make him feel like some brute. Theyre all kind of itching to beat the shit out of things for multiple reasons, but instead of taking that out on each other, they spend time training one another so that they can beat the shit out of OTHER things better. Its an efficient system 😊

Regulus' eyes go wide and he opens his mouth to respond but is cut off by Evan continuing his rambling.

"No, he doesn't fucking know are you crazy? I didn't even know for merlin's sake! And gods help you if they find out, because it's not gonna be me helping. Even Pandora didn't think twice about it until the quidditch match last fall! Jesus Christ, you are an IDIOT. An absolute fucking idiot. I hope you know that. Him. HIM, OF ALL PEOPLE. Salazar, Rowena, Helga and Godric are rolling in their graves laughing at you. I guarantee this is not what McGonagall meant when she said we need more 'House Unity' goddamn. And gosh let's not even mention-" Evan continues ranting.

Regulus' head was spinning. 6 years of knowing Evan Rosier and he still hasnt gotten used to his rambling. At least not these kind of ramblings. He could deal with ones about school, or Evan's lastest hyper fixation, or the random things that Evan would think of and just go with. Those he could deal with. Evan's angry rambles made his mind work overtime. He somehow managed to talk even faster when he was angry.

At least with Regulus. With anyone else he didn't let himself get too angry. Regulus didn't care how much Evan rambled though. He knows that he doesn't mean it. In reality Evan is just trying to work it all out in his mind, trying to connect the dots and fit the pieces together. Regulus is fine with it. In fact he encourages it. With anyone else Evan either stops himself mid rambled or gets interrupted. With Regulus, Evan doesn't stop himself, and Regulus doesn't interrupt. When he does stop, he looks over to Regulus and Regulus gives some input.

Talking isn't one of the things regulus is best at. He either doesn't think before he speaks or things too long about what he's going to say and then it's too late. With Evan that's not a problem. Regulus can blurt out the most nonsensical thing that comes to mind without having to think about whether Evan will find it weird. Regulus can take as long as he needs to think about the answer to something without worrying that Evan will get annoyed with having to wait.

Regulus looks up and realizes that Evan has stopped talking. "You done yelling at me now?" Regulus says with a slight smile.

Evan sighs and lays down so that his head is in Regulus' lap and he's starring up at Regulus.

"yeah," he mumbles. This is normal how most of his rambles end; with Evan finally having run out of things to say and going silent.

Evan looks like he's about to say something and then hesitates.

"What?" Regulus asks.

Evan starts tapping his finger tips on his stomach nervously.

"Was that too much? Sorry I didn't mind to react badly I'm not mad at you and your not an idiot, I'm just trying to process this for a minute and I didn't know what to say, sorry." And this is normally how Evan's 'angry' rants end. No matter how many times Regulus tells him that it's fine.

Regulus smiles and reaches over to put his hand over the one anxiously tapping on Evan's stomach. "It's not too much, your fine," Regulus promises.

Evan nods slowly. "Okay." He whispers.

Regulus nods too. "Okay."

Evan sits up and fidgets a bit before asking, "Can I hug you?"

Regulus almost laughs. Instead he just smiled again and hugs Evan gently. The other boy takes a few seconds before relaxing into the hug and hugging back.

Evan has never been one for physical affection. His parents never gave him any and he grew to not be a physical person. Which also led to him being severely touch starved. He hadn't even realized it until a few of this very very close friends expressed physical affection towards him. And he realized he was ok with it as long as it was someone he completely trusted. That didn't mean he wasn't still hesitant and slightly tense about it.

Regulus hadn't ever got any form of affection from his parents either. But he was fine with physical affection. Holding Pandora's hand, hugging Dorcas, resting his head on Peter's shoulder, leaning against Remus, coming up behind Barty and burrowing into his side, cuddling with Lily, being held against Emmeline, playing with Mary's curls when he got bored and more. He was able to tell that Evan didn't like physical affection too much. He was fine with that and respected it. The first time Regulus hugged Evan, he was having a panic attack, and Regulus panicked and had hugged Evan. Evan had tensed so badly at first that Regulus almost let go. But right before he made the decision to let go of Evan, the boy hugged him back and cried into Regulus' shoulder.

Another thing that Regulus was constantly had to reassure Evan about was that he didn't have to ask if he wanted a hug.

Evan let out a quiet sigh as he burrowed into Regulus' chest. Regulus pulled him closer. He would remind Evan as many times it took for him to accept it. To accept that he was loved and accepted and welcome. Regulus didn't care how many times he had to tell Evan.

Evan's breath eventually slowed to an even pace , that signified that he was asleep. Regulus stared at the boy hugging him for a while before he slowly drifted asleep.
