orym throwing down the locket- the reminder of guilt, his consciousness, a reminder that there are people real genuine people on the other side of this. and throwing it down on bor’dor’s body. throwing it away. because they’re at war. war is here. he can’t pretend anymore. he’ll protect those around him, throw himself into the heat of battle for his friends, this shred of family he’s cobbled together- but everyone else ? he’s on guard. war. war. war. it’s takes and takes and takes. how much does orym have left to give? what will be left of him by the end of it?

Headcanon #500:
Mind is afraid that when he distances himself from or above the others, that he will be too far gone to come back down. That when his paranoia gets the best of him, he'll shut everyone else out and then be completely alone with no way back to where he was before.
Heart is afraid that if Mind is right, with the idea that what he does isn't genuine, that he's being manipulative without realizing it. Then therefore being Whole without himself there is the better option. That he'd be thrown out because his ideas would then be "not worth it" or even "vile"
Soul is afraid that no matter what he does or how good things will be, they'll always eventually split up again or even end up worse. Even then he has no clue what he's supposed to do or be during everything, and so because of that he'll never be whole. Or worse that he'll never really "feel" whole.

Mephistopheles "giving" Haarlep to Raphael in order to "distract naughty son".
It's just...a really shit thing to do, obviously. It strips Raphael of agency and power to a degree.
However, Raphael turned the situation in his favor as much as he could, and took his power back.
Which is another reason I LOVE the character. He really knows how to make the best out of a bad situation.

steve starts carrying around a lighter when starts to get feelings for Eddie. he noticed that Eddie always forgets his own. Steve tells himself he can get away with it because he’s the ‘mom’ and looks after everyone, he’s just looking after the newest member of the group.
What he tries to keep secret from himself is that he lives for the times eddie forgets his lighter. in these moments Steve can let himself get close, cup his hand around the cigarette and sometimes Eddie’s own hand, trying to keep the flame going. He doesn’t have a problem with liking Eddie, he feels more alive than he has in months, feels like he’s coming back to himself with these desires to wine and dine The Eddie Munson.
What he’s worried about is scaring Eddie off. He’s got this wonderful, loud, hilarious, inexplicable boy in his life and Steve doesn’t think he’d manage without him now. So he bides his time, trying to see if he can collect enough evidence to prove to himself that turning on the Harrington charm won’t end in him losing a person he’s suddenly come to think of as home
