A friend of mine had this idea, and I’d love to see it in an urban fantasy: magic is real and it stays secret because it looks like bad CGI. The fakest thing ever.

People who witness magic in person can always have their minds clouded, as they have been for most of human history, but all this newfangled technology has to be handled a different way. A video camera records exactly what it sees.

So, what it sees is … something that looks laughably fake. For any time period. The various secret magicians of the world make a point to keep their spells up to date with the current mundane trends — some of them even have running contests for who can make the most fake-looking spell.

I imagine they have a great time doing it. I sure would.

so i’ve just read this fic

(which was very nice by the way, but it kept me on edge all the way through with everybody being mentally stable and having good relationships with their family)

and it gave me an idea of a platonic (i feel crazy even clarifying this, but, you know. just in case.) stobin fic where steve was out of job and started a fake boyfriend gig for some cash and robin hired him for some family gathering to throw her relatives off the scent. they begrudgingly hit it off and being affectionate came easily to them after a while, so steve immediately thought that he’d found his One And Only (valiantly ignoring the fact that something felt off in their dynamic, that when they hugged or played with each other’s hair or bickered it didn’t really feel like having a girlfriend, but he was too lonely and confused about his feelings, so he just latched onto the most logical and easy conclusion) and robin thought “steve’s so great at this whole fake flirting thing and thank god he’s never going to hit on me because it’s literally his job and he’s done it a thousand times already” and tentatively hoped that she’d found a new friend she could keep. but then they had The Bathroom Talk somewhere in robin’s relatives’ house, probably sloshed after the *insert a holiday* party, and steve shot his shot and robin came out and they cried in each other’s arms and became Best Friends Forever and lived happily ever after. the end.

and then there’s eddie somewhere in there too (because i’m a steddie slut first and foremost): maybe as robin’s best friend, who had found the craigslist ad in the first place and watched the whole train wreck from the sidelines, trying not to crush on the “very obviously straight” steve who was “very obviously crushing on robin” and steve getting to know him throughout the whole ordeal and being even more Confused about his feelings. and when robin rejected him, being surprised that he felt more relieved than heartbroken and realizing the one he’d like to smooch and hold hands with was actually not robin, but eddie.

and then, after the whole thing, when people see steve and robin’s dynamic and inevitably assume they’re dating they just start laughing hysterically without actually explaining anything or lean into it instead and start retelling their fake story and exaggeratively fawning over each other while giggling uncontrollably like little children while eddie just sighs and ponders the life decisions that brought him to that point in the background.

anyway. i’m not going to write this (i’m realistic, okay?), but somebody definitely should. so. just putting it out there.

so sitting here staring at tiktok like a totally sane person, and I see this video of a prompt, and it's like

CHARACTER A wakes up confused with a hangover, while CHARACTER B is there as character a had confessed the night before.

Anyway so I want somebody to make a fanfic with a pinning Dazai (of 7 year) gets confessed to by a very very drunk Chuuya, and then they miss blah blah, but anyway the next morning chuuya has no memory of the night before and Dazai is really confused and insecure and it's him misunderstanding the situation and why chuuya is acting normal.

MBS Crack AU:

While SQ is at the fancy art school that Curtain sent him to, he finds HIS long-lost twin brother. While rivals at first, they soon bond over their love of different kinds of art.

The twin (who I'm going to call Hunter because...Shepherd and Hunter) came from a not-quite-nice place and managed to get here against all odds. He is loud where SQ is quiet, bold where SQ is timid, and downright destructive where SQ is too careful for his own good. In other words, they become close against all odds. While SQ is originally withdrawn and quiet, he soon learns to open up, and Hunter, very outgoing and unable to stop at a reasonable time, learns how to slow down so that SQ is not left behind.

The plot really starts moving when Nathanial comes back for SQ (after his big mental breakdown with Nicholas). SQ Is all ready to go, but Hunter, horrified at what SQ had to go through, doesn't want him to. So at the last second, he Parent Traps Nathanial, and nobody knows the difference.

Except for SQ, who is trying to get Hunter back.

...You know, this started as a crack AU, but now I want to see a REAL story with this concept.

I'm not personally a fan of Kas!Eddie, so I would never write it, but I think it would be a cool idea for anyone who wants it.

What if there is a revolution in Tattoine and reader -ani childhood friend- becomes their senator (Shmi and Cliegg can reign ie) but the're still in so much danger so the Republic put some jedis or clones cofcoffoxcofcof to protect them? Because planet and senator!reader (may or not may hutt-slay) lead free slavery movement?

Edit: also reader may think clones and droids are slaves too, to do things more interesting.
